Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse It was as she had foretold, it would be raining later today. It felt like weeks ago when she had thought about that before bumping into Freya, but now, now it was softly raining. Even if that might obstruct someone's vision, the tears on Nimue's face were obstructing her face even more. She could not even cry softly, she was wailing, crying out so loudly but no one came. She wasn't even thinking about it, but they might be afraid, the pain that her voice carried, the sirens that the night carried. She should have been more careful, she had promised but he had promised, and now... now it did not matter anymore.
His body was still warm, the blood sticking all over her own hero outfit but it would be absorbed anyway and she pulled him against her chest, sitting on her own knees she rocked her upper body back and forth while wailing. She spoke to herself in her own language, no one needed to hear, she stopped wailing, but she sung softly to him, held him, she just got him back. This was too cruel even for her God. That only showed the influences of the devil in this world through the villains, they were the representative and she had worked so hard, so honest and they just took it away. She cried and stopped rocking, her forehead touching the one of the man's body that she held. No soul, everything stone cold in a matter of minutes, hours. She had no idea where his glasses were now, she had no idea if she was bleeding, she did not feel anything, she could only think of what happened, she had failed him.
She had failed her own father. She had failed so badly that Uphondu left her side. She could not even channel the spirit within her. She had no strength to even stand up, she could do nothing but sit here and hold him. Why had they showed her no mercy and took her, it was their fight not his. Why...
Madi ao. Leka sebete chia ho oele sebetha.
Blood was spilled. She needed courage to try so the beast may fall. But that beast was gone and that courage was gone too. She had to gather strength, she had to go, she had to but she could not, let her just disappear, become nothing but one with the earth, the air and water because it was not of any use anymore.
She was alone.

Ah, I probably should have brought my umbrella.
Tony sighed to himself as he left the store. It was raining, though thankfully only softly. Still, the man quickly took out his hat and put it over his head to keep both his face and hair dry. As he walked down the street, his thoughts began to wander. He thought of all the crime that had happened recently, of the auction that was about to go down soon, whether or not he was doing enough to help out. His thoughts kept him occupied for a while.
But then he heard a sound off in the distance, one that was able to snap Tony out of his deep thoughts. It was hard to hear because of the raindrops, the nearby people chatting as they went about their business, the traffic on the streets, and the sounds of sirens going off in the distance. But Tony believed that he did not mishear the sound. Was that someone... crying? He immediately began to move towards the source of the crying. Or at least where he thought he had heard it, as it was difficult to pinpoint the exact location. Plus, the crying had stopped. Did something happen? Was someone in trouble? Not wanting to be too slow in case someone was in danger, Tony began moving faster, wondering whether he should bring out Centaurion to pick up the pace.
But that would ultimately prove to be unnecessary. Once Tony had arrived, the sight of what he saw made his face go pale in shock.
A dead person.
There was no mistaking it. That man there was dead. And he was not alone. Holding him was a lady. It was clear that whoever the dead man was, this woman was clearly mourning him. Once Tony began to approach, he then noticed it. Wait, that outfit! It was unmistakable.
"Nimue!"
Tony immediately ran to her side. Not even a fool would have missed the clear sadness written all over the poor heroine's face. Even with the rain, Tony could see the tears. What do I say to her? What can I say? This was clearly someone Nimue cared a lot about. Tony placed a hand on her shoulder in an attempt to console and reassure her. He did not know what to say, or even where to begin. Perhaps actions spoke louder than words.
I should call the police to investigate this soon, but the poor señorita needs time. Tony wanted to know what happened. How did this happen. Who was responsible. But right now, he just wanted to try to comfort Nimue. She just looked extremely upset. Right now, Tony was not a pro-hero, but a friend who wanted to be there for her and make sure that she was going to be alright.
She was not alone.

Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse No other words hit her, she did not understand, she was dazed, there was just them, a bulb of light in her vision, she could only see her father. She could not stop crying but she whispered words in her native language, the language of her tribe to the man that she had missed so much and had to miss again. She brushed his hair away from his forehead, like he normally used to do himself. Of course with this weather it would stick to his forehead and just like her own hair it was stuck to her body and she did not notice if the blood was his or hers and she also had no idea if she was warm or cold, that were no matters of importance in the bubble that she was. She did not hear the sirens of the police that were coming closer, she did not hear footsteps, screams of other people that pass, she heard nothing. She heard herself saying words to him, he would have understood very little of it, she knew he tried to learn xhosa but it was very difficult if you did not know.
But one word did reach her, her own name and she stared with big eyes at the lips of her father but they did of course not move. She looked up, the clear shock, desperation and pain visible in her eyes. It took her a moment to put the pieces together, as if this was still a dream, the worst nightmare in her life, she noticed her friend, yes. right. they were, where was she? Her tears showed up more and she could not speak of words, she could only make sounds to show her misery. She kept looking at Tony as if he could make it better, but she never let go of the man in her arms. If Tony would look, he would notice that she looked quite a bit like him, only their hair was different but the form of their eyes and nose and lips was exactly the same. Her own face was a little rounder compared that of her father.
The sirens stopped, the red and blue light flashing on the building and the police hurried towards her and they seemed not to know what to do either. They took off their caps and gave her a moment to mourn. But they had to get out of here, they were vulnerable, she was vulnerable. A police officer approached but she pulled her father closer to her chest, no, no they would take him away. She looked desperate at Tony, they couldn't do that right? They couldn't separate them she needed him. She needed him alive. This was not true. She finally realized how cold she was and that she was drenched thanks to the rain and shivered but she wouldn't want to go.

Upon taking a closer look at the deceased person, Tony was able to make out the resemblance that the man had with Nimue. The hair color was different, but they shared certain facial features. Was this man her father? Well whoever he was, it was clear that the poor woman was devastated. Who did this? Was it Crowley? An ally of that dastardly villain? Or was this an unrelated incident? Whatever the case, it did not matter. What mattered was that Nimue had just lost someone precious to her, and Tony wanted to do whatever he could to console her.
"Nimue, I..." He tried to think of what to say. He had not yet been in a situation like this. He wanted to avoid something like 'I'm sorry for your loss' because that would just drive the point home that the man was now gone. And that seemed a bit harsh and insensitive to do. "I'm sorry. Neither of you deserved this." Tony was feeling disgusted with himself. That was the best he could say? This poor woman just lost her papá! He needed to do better than this! Perhaps a brief yet firm hug would convey the message he wanted to send to Nimue much better than any choice of words?
But before Tony could think of what to do next, the police had finally arrived. Though the officers gave the poor woman a moment to mourn, they needed to move. It was not safe here, and Nimue's papá could not just be left here. Tony watched as Nimue held on to her father's body, not wanting to move. Tony knew that they would have to get out of here sooner or later. But still, just seeing how upset Nimue was. He did not want to upset or possibly anger her any more than she already was. It was clear that Tony could never hope to understand the pain she was going through. Despite that, he refused to do nothing about it.
"Officer please. If it's alright, could you give her just a little bit more time? That man, I believe it's her papá. I mean, her father. Is that right, Nimue?" Tony wanted to ask Nimue if she knew who did this. Who was the one who Tony wanted to pummel to a fine paste with Centaurion's fists for doing this to the poor man, to poor Nimue. But not yet. Not now. He wanted to let her mourn just a bit longer before having to think or worry about anything else.
"Nimue, if there's anything you need, anything at all, I'm here for you." Okay, that was a little bit better.

Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse She nodded, all she could hear was that Tony said it is her father, yes. Yes, it is. It is, it was no need to use past tense yet, he would be fine, Nkosi could do it. Nkosi-why was it so quiet, why was no spirit speaking to her. Why did she feel so cold and so weak, why was there so much space in her head, where were her spirits. "Nkosi." She whispered the name of her healing spirit, "Nkosi please." She had no idea that she was saying it outloud. She wanted her spirit to do her goddamn work! She shivered again, she felt like just a print of herself, no depth, nothing to her. She did not hear the police officer whispering to Tony that Nimue must still be a target and that they must already be happy that they found her alive, because they had no idea who did this as well. They had someone say a strange noise had come from an empty warehouse and even if it was raining they had seen a blood trail going out but that disappeared with the rain eventually which was why it had taken them a while to find Nimue. The woman must be exhausted and she might get sick if she would stay out like this. He suggested they would bring her to the station. "Where is she?" Nimue finally said out loud, a reaction with quite a delay to Tony's earlier comment, she turned to him with her whole body, letting go of her father for now, he still was on her lap but that did not mean she couldn't turn to Tony.
"Nkosi, Nkosi isn't healing him, why not? I am a healer, why not, why isn't she doing anything?" The denial was obvious because she did not want to understand that it was a past thing, that her father could not be saved by her healing because she could not fix it. There was nothing to fix at this point. She stared at her friend with an empty expression in her eyes. "I don't get it." She cried softly, "T-This is my-this is my job. I should be able to fix it. I should," she hiccuped, "I should, I am a healer. I should fix this." But there was no possibility of fixing this anymore and she looked at her father again, but-but how? Her brain could not understand, which was why her spirits were silent, they were mourning.

As Tony continued to try to think of what to do, he listened as the police officer whispered to him. So there was some kind of noise at a warehouse. There was a blood trail coming from there, though it was washed away by the rain. So it happened there, then? Tony suspected that this had to have been a murder, though with so few details and him not wanting to question Nimue too much on what had happened, it was hard to be certain.
After angrily swearing in Spanish (though Tony at least had the sense not to actually say anything aloud and kept it all mental), he then heard Nimue ask 'where is she?' She? At first, Tony thought that Nimue might be talking about her father's killer. But then she mentioned Nkosi. Tony remembered from their time at the Italian restaurant that Nkosi was the spirit who had the power to heal. Nimue went on about how she was a healer, and why her spirit wasn't doing anything, that she should be able to fix this. Tony remained quiet, not knowing what to say that could make her feel better. He recognized what this was. The five stages of grief. The first being denial. He knew what came next, and he was not looking forward to it. Still, even if Nimue got mad, he would not stop trying to help her. He would gladly accept her ire if it came down to it, as long as he could help out the poor heroine.
Of course, Tony could not truly predict what Nimue would do next. But he wanted to help regardless of what she would do or say. Help comfort her. Help calm her down. Help prevent her from getting sick in this rain. Help her catch the sick bastard who did this. Help her throughout this mess. Why did it have to be her? Nimue's a good person. She doesn't deserve to go through something so horrible. Meanwhile, Crowley and other scum like him get to walk around worry-free? ¡Qué injusto! It was best not to think any more about it. He did not want to lose his temper.
"Nimue, we should move. All of us. Your father deserves far better than the concrete in some alley in the rain. Let's go get you two somewhere else." Tony hoped that he was not making things worse for her. He felt terrible for not being able to do enough for her. If the situation were reversed, she would no doubt do a far better job of comforting him than he was doing with her right now.
"Please, whenever you want to talk about it, if you want to tell me what happened, I'm here to listen. To help you."

Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse Why wasn't she doing anything? What kind of healer was not healing? Where was Nkosi? Why did they not switch? Why did her eyes not turn green because that is how she channeled it. It was like grabble into an empty box while you knew something must be in there, yes air. She could not catch Nkosi, grab her to do her duty, a duty that Nimue did not want to realise was impossible. She wanted Nkosi to do whatever it was that she could or should do. She kept on crying even if she was aware of her own denial, she did not want to let go, "Dad, come on, we go home, joh? We will be fine, aibo we will be fine." But the mourning would not stop, there would be no way for him to answer her anymore. There was no higher person, there was nothing, they just wanted to take it all and they did because why as a villian would you care about any other humans that you shared the earth surface with.
She turned her watery eyes to Tony, for a second she had forgotten he was right next to her and she almost jumped up but she still was on the ground, holding her older man still against her. The rain made her cold, washing away any blood that was on her hand or on her father, it was difficult to see now that he was actually dead. She nodded and looked at her father, one of the officers hunched down next to her, "Let me carry him for you?" He asked politely and she stared at him with empty eyes before she finally nodded, she knew that she wouldn't be able to. So she let go, held her father's hand for as long as she could and when she tried to stand up, her legs almost immediately gave out and she would fall back again towards the ground. It was a miracle to think that she came walking here, crying, humming, anything, he needed a burial. A proper one like her people, no what was she talking about, she could fix this, he wasn't gone. His soul must be here, Nkosi, Nkosi could do this. This meant that if she wanted to stand up she would have to hold on to something, to someone and that someone, in this case, was Tony and she looked up to her friend. "I don't get it, I mean-I do but how can you hate someone you never met before so much?" And how could her father be so irrational with his information, she should have made him move in with her for the safety, in her apartment while she was at G and Hanako's. If she had been, "I saw this coming, if I had just been smarter, if I had thought one step ahead, he would be here, he would laugh silly, saying I was right but he would be here." If only she could turn back time to listen to her gut feeling and to risk that he would hate her for days only because it would mean he would be here.

It was almost painful for Tony to see his friend be in such denial. She did not deserve this! Her father didn't deserve such a horrible fate! Poor Nimue! Just seeing her watery eyes filled with such sorrow was almost gut-wrenching. He wanted to hug and comfort her so badly. But now was not the time for that. It would be very unprofessional of him to do. And yet, Tony found it harder to care about that. He could not just stand there and do nothing while Nimue continued to grieve.
When one of the officers hunched down next to Nimue and asked to let him carry her dad for her, Tony would not have blamed her if she said no. With how much she had held him, it would not have been too surprising if she had never wanted to let go. Fortunately, it seemed like she was okay with it. Unfortunately, Nimue had trouble getting and staying up. So upon seeing this, he helped her up and let her hold on to him for support.
But hearing what she said next. It upset Tony. She was saying how she saw this coming and that her father would still be alive if she just thought one step ahead. Tony could not remain quiet any longer.
"Nimue, listen to me." There was no other way of saying this, so there was no point in sugarcoating things. "Stop blaming yourself! This? This is not on you! You did not do anything wrong! It's these villains, the murderer, Crowley, despicable scum like them, they're the ones to blame! Not you! I can't stand seeing a good and kind heroine talk like this for something that was in no way at all your fault. Don't think that you're the one who caused this because of what you did or didn't do or think! There are terrible people in the world, and those people choose to do awful evil things! Don't blame yourself for what happened to your papá. You did everything you could have, and you've done so admirably. I know your papá would be proud of you!"
Tony then wrapped an arm around Nimue. Perhaps a full on hug would be too weird. But still, Tony could not just stand there and do nothing! "Listen." He then gave her a warm smile. "Let's work together to find the pedazo de mierda who did this and make sure that they can never do anything to hurt anyone else ever again. I'll do everything I can to help you punish the horrid scumbag and throw their ass in jail. Get justice for your papá." He then took off his hat and offered it to Nimue to keep her head and face dry. "But first, we should really get out of this rain. I don't want you to risk getting ill. You don't deserve to be the one suffering. That maldito bastardo is the one who should suffer. Now, let's get out of here. Once you get the rest you need, then we can talk about how to take this bastard down."
Tony hoped that he could somehow get through to Nimue, to get her to listen to him, to stop blaming herself for what that murdering scumbag did to her father. He just wanted his friend to feel better.

Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse She knew she was tired and the balance in her mind was off, from four people to three suddenly felt as she was missing a piece of her leg. It was numb, it was strange and she understood very well that she was a failure and that she would not be able to do what she should do. He had never thought her worthy and look at her now, she was pathetic, so much that he left her. And her father had to leave her. It wasn't fair and what was the point of being good if the cruel world took you awa-. No! That was not how she was allowed to think, she knew deep down that Nkosi couldn't fix this but she wanted her to try, why would it not work, why was she not doing anything in the first place. She had to lean on Tony to be able to even stand upright and she could not, the thoughts racing in her mind she had to say something, she had to ask him questions. Yes, questions, questions would bring answers and answers would be facts and she would just let it go.
Why could she not think one step ahead, why had she not followed her instinct and done what she should have done because this was so dumb. She had seen it coming, she could have fixed it, she could have saved him, she could have done everything a pro-hero should be able to do at that point because at the point of any other moment she would not be able to do so. She had no clue on Crowley but she had a clue on that someone would go after her dad and even if it was not him but Oracle. She looked up surprised to Tony as he seemed to be quite stern at her and she stared at him.
There were no words to say and she took a deep breath though and she leaned against Tony's chest and she nodded she wasn't sure if he would be because he wouldn't be dead in that case but she didn't want to think about it. She looked up again when he called her attention again by saying listen again. "Ha try finding Oracle is a good new challenge. I think I was in general already on their hate list but after arresting Lavande, I am definitely in the top 1 hate list." She shivered when the words of Kyoko went through her mind "I want that though, she needs to be found and put behind bars for safety of Tokyo and the districts." She could not allow herself to be selfish now. She took the head and nodded, she wasn't drenched as of yet, there was blood all over her outfit though but that would not matter, these clothes would be burned.
She would follow the police to the station and she could say goodbye to her father for that moment, it was weird, it did not feel like a goodbye so it was easy. She felt dizzy, weak, queasy, everything, "I am going home. Thanks for coming." She wasn't sure what to say and she took the hat off to hand it back to Tony as she forgot that she was wearing it, she would walk to the door of the station, still feeling so weak but she should not bother everyone and just go home.

Oracle. Crowley. Pretty much any villain ever, but these two especially had pretty much made Tony's shitlist. Oh, how he wanted somebody to give the horrid criminals the beatdown of their lives! If it couldn't be Nimue herself who got to do so, then Tony would be more than happy to bring these two to justice himself. Of course, he would be content if any law enforcement (or hell, even a vigilante) ended up being the one to send those two to prison. But to Tony, this had pretty much become almost personal. Nimue was not just a heroine and a good person. She was his friend, and he did not appreciate anyone messing with his friend.
Disfruta de la libertad mientras puedas, porque juro que te llevaré a dos villanos ante la justicia. ¡Si nadie más lo hace, lo haré yo mismo!
But right now was not the time to think of how to take those criminals down. Right now, it was time to help support Nimue in any way he could. "They can hide all they want. It won't make a difference. Whether they come after you, or you go out and find Oracle and Crowley yourself, there's one fact that's certain either way. You won't be alone. You have me, the other pro-heroes, the police, all of us will help you protect Tokyo from those scumbags. It's only a matter of time before they get locked up and join Lady Lavande in prison."
Tony smiled upon hearing Nimue thank him for coming. "De nada. It's my pleasure." It was definitely a good idea for Nimue to head on home now. After what she's been through, she deserves to go rest up. After Tony got his hat back, he asked Nimue. "Do you want me to get you a taxi? I don't mind paying. Or are you going to be fine heading home yourself?" He did not mind either way. As long as Nimue would be alright. That was what mattered.

Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse It was still so unfair how she could do so much for everyone but that she would not be able to do something for herself. And not even for herself, she could not even think that selfish, but she might be, she needed her papa. She needed a healer, she needed Nkosi but there was no one there. She wasn't sure what to do, what to think about it but she was sure that it would not work, she was a failure. What was she even trying to do and even if Tony had just explained that she should not blame herself, it was not that easy. After all she had been there, she had been enraged, she had not listened and she failed her spirit by not listening to him and now he was gone too and she was vulnerable and stupid.
Suddenly she was hit with more tired feelings and she swayed on her legs but the whole thing was done and it was nice that she could have the support from Tony, what would she have done here in Shinagawa without a familiar face? She wasn't entirely sure but that did not change the fact that she was so tired now and she looked up and nodded, yes, they would bring them to prison and yet it still did not feel like her job. If Uphondu was here she would still want to kill Oracle but she shouldn't and it was such a strange contrasting feeling. And that made the headache and the queasy feeling and everything only worse but there was nothing to do. She wanted to sleep and maybe not wake up, because she did not want to live with this, if it was her fault or not. But that's not how life worked fascinating and she didn't want to accept the depressing feeling talk to her but she would see later. She had to hold on for no.
She had to force herself to look at Tony and thank him and she gave him his hat back and said she would go home. She did not want to take anything from anyone, she was maybe cursed, maybe a cleansing, maybe anything. "I think a taxi would be better right now." She wasn't sure how she would else manage it but she had to refuse him paying for it but she didn't manage and in the end she just looked outside in the taxi and went home. She noticed that a black car that had been following the taxi the whole time stopped at the corner and she thought she could see the face of the officer that carried her father and she turned to her door. It might feel a little bit safer.
