There it was. The origin of today's misfortune. This pesky little monster. This being of ultimate avarice. The absolute peak of human misfortune, just waltzing around on a branch as if it was unaware of what it has just done to the chronicler of the world. It tempted him with a cool-looking appearance, only for it to swoop down and grab his pencil when it was laid upon the set table one can find at the park. How...DARE it. First off, what the hell man!? Why did it come near him, gracing him with its presence, only to take his pencil? It's not a stray branch, its a stupid pencil! Second of all, how dare it mock it by landing on several small trees, wait for him to catch up to it, and then just LEAVE AGAIN?! THAT'S JUST REALLY RUDE, HUH?
Kaz is currently trying to climb up the current tree this unlikable basted of a bird is roosting in, still holding onto his pencil like it was something it properly earned in combat or scavenged or...gaaaaah stupid bird, give him back his pencil, its the only writing utensil he brought along for today that isn't a permanent marker or a ink pen! Since the last time he was ever near a tree and tried to climb it, he has certainly improved. For what was an instant defeat is now a struggle as he gets higher and higher the point of his misfortune as he slowly grabs onto a branch. "J-just there...co-come on...jus-just...gr-grab it ca-carefully..." He isn't thinking straight either; who in their right mind would grab something that a bird is holding. Seriously. He's just pissed off at the bird that he feels obligated to do this deed. He just has to. It's the only way.
Well, that only way is about to fail and cause him to fall out of the tree. As he slowly grabs the branch the bird is resting on, his fingers finally had the common sense to give out and not allow this stupid endeavor to continue. As he realizes that he's about to let go, he struggles to muster any amount of energy he had left in his upper body. "Oh nononnonoNONONONONOONONONONONONO-" And yet it was too late, for as he finally fell down, he could have sworn he saw the bird stare at him. Mocking him. Holding onto the pencil in absolute victor-and he dropped it. He could have just waited for the bird to drop it off the tree and pick it up from the ground. Hmm. The power of hindsight, am i righ-
THUD
Lying on the ground on his back, Kaz groans in defeat. As he moans in slight pain, he could hear the footsteps of an approaching person. he could have sworn they said something, but at this moment it's a bit hard to hear. As his eyes shift back into focus, he sees a red-haired guy looking over him, presumably asking if he needed help. "Gaaaah......wh-wha?" he says, trying to hear what he said.
