Alaster was essentially fighting two wars. One was against Witch Doctor for being the one to arrest Meiko. The other was the Deadlock Gang, who proved to be a thorn in Alaster's side for a long time, and would only continue to do so if left alone. Alaster wanted both of them wiped out of the face of the earth. But how to actually go about doing that? After all, despite being extremely determined, Alaster could not do much by himself.
Thus the solution was simple. To destroy a gang, create one of his own! Not only would the additional manpower prove to be a worthy asset in the fight against the Deadlock Gang, Alaster could also use his gang to both help stage a rescue to free his beloved angel once her location was found, and also fight Witch Doctor and anyone else who got in his way. It was brilliant! Killing two fools with one knife, or whatever the phrase was.
And to start off the creation of Alaster's gang, he would need some help from some old allies of his back in the old country.
Before the Deadlock Gang, and before even coming to Japan, Alaster was a part of the Yardboys, a British gang consisting of delinquents and outcasts of society. People who had to band together in order to survive. After having left juvie, not wanting to go back to his old home, and not being able to get a job, Alaster had to resort to joining the Yardboys in order to survive. Unlike the Deadlock Gang, the Yardboys treated its members like family once each member proved themselves to be trustworthy. After having spent quite a bit of time with this gang, Alaster soon became a loyal trusted member. He appreciated the fact that a bunch of misfits looked out for him better than his actual family ever did. And once the gang actually saved up funds to help Alaster move to Japan to start a new life, this was what cemented them as true partners in crime. Sure Alaster never fully trusted any of them, seeing as he never trusted anyone by default. But if he had anyone that he could call friends, it was the Yardboys.
Obviously, no good deed would go unrewarded, so once the money from the books Alaster had written under the alias Harry R. Krowe began to roll in, Alaster would periodically send the gang a generous amount to help support their endeavors. In addition, he would maintain contact with them, telling them of all the things he had seen and done in Japan, of the enemies he had made, of the wonderful and beautiful angel that he had met, of how good life was here compared to the gloomy slums in England. And in turn, the Yardboys would tell him about the things they have done and how things were going over there.
So once Alaster realized that he needed help to put his plans into motion, he had sent over the money needed to buy plane tickets to Japan, requesting that the Yardboys send over a few of their men to come assist him here in Japan. Once they called back and let Alaster know that they had arrived, it was time to meet up. So after scouting for a secure location where they could meet without being interrupted by unwanted guests, it was time to head out.
Alaster had a brown wig and glasses in addition to his usual civilian outfit. If anyone looked at him, no one would be able to tell that it was Crowley, or even Harry R. Krowe. No, Alaster was a completely different person to anyone looking at him. After calling in a taxi (as driving in his own car was too risky), Alaster headed to the meeting place: an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of Tokyo. After making sure that no one was there watching him, Alaster headed inside.
It sure has been a while since I've seen the boys in person. Brings back memories. But this was not just a meeting of friends. No, this was also business. And Alaster could not wait to get this meeting started. WORDS 700 TAGS RoseyNOTES --- |

It was great to have the land of another island under their feet. He shortly jumped up and down, nah flying was definitely not his cup of tea. The whole bloody mess of what could happen if a plane would crash and than they put in the papers that one recently did so. How utterly ridiculous to do so. Axl brushed his blonde hair backwards as that's how it was and looked at the three companions he had, "The boy is waiting for us." But even if it was a small world, he grinned, man it was good to have soil under his feet, but it was much better to be somewhere where he wasn't haunted by the crimes. Truly running away was one of his favourite fashions, it was the most interesting part of the day for sure, it would be nice to do so but it would also be rather nice to take a holiday break.
"Alright boys, we have a location where to go, now we only have to figure out how to go there." Would they speak proper English here because else they would have to figure out another way, surely they had money for a cab, and with four that might fit, at least in the setting in England, but how did the cabbies work here. Hm. It was so simple to walk out of the hotel, hold up your hand and just get it, get a cabby and it worked exactly the same here. Now their hotel wasn't even that fancy, it was better to keep some of the money because well who knows how long they were going to stay here, maybe they will be able to switch locations later, he was definitely up to the luxury for a while but the boyish grin on his face stayed as he knew that would not always be possible. But he was going to enjoy it till the bitter end. Now leaning over the front seat he showed the address that he wrote on a piece of paper, "You get it? This is where we need to go?" But to his surprise the man understood him fine and would start to drive the way he said it would, Axl quickly counted the coins and how it worked that he got with him and he wasn't sure what to do with it for now, he looked over Oliver, Thomas and James, they would fix it, it was so nice to see him back, surely Axl could admit that he missed his friend from time to time, the fun was dropped a little but they continued on, as they had done before.
The cabby asked him if he was sure it was here, as the outskirts of Tokyo, "Well I think it is, we will find our way around, thanks." The others stepped out before him as he figured out how to pay the Yen that he had, thank god it was enough, how would he figure that out. Now that he was out of the cab, he took a deep breath and looked around, "Must be there." Oliver told him, pointing to the warehouse and Axl nodded once, he waited casually for the cab to drive away, as if he was talking to the others before marching off to the warehouse. He opened it slowly, giving sign to the others to be ready in case of some stupid ambush, he didn't think so but he was very well prepared. He didn't say anything, his booths barely making a sound as he stepped onward within the layer of the house, "Well, let this be a surprise party." He grinned widely.

Sometimes, Alaster did catch himself wondering about his home country. Was England still the pile of rubbish he remembered it as? Did things get better for the Yardboys? Was it even worth coming back to for a visit? Most of his memories of the place were less than fond. Still, it did have its moments. Perhaps one day he would return for a short bit if the Yardboys ever needed him to be there in person. Or maybe he could find that bastard father and his bitch wife and off the pair for the hell they had put him through throughout his childhood. Or perhaps if Meiko wanted to come with him to visit once she got out.
...If she got... No, don't think like that! She will be freed and back in my arms safe and sound! I'll make sure of it! Now was not the time to think about that. Alaster did not want to be in a foul mood in front of the Yardboys.
Speaking of the boys, Alaster gave a genuine smile upon seeing the lot of them. "Axl! Oliver! Thomas! James! I've missed you lot!" Alaster was not sure if those names were even their real names. Then again, the Yardboys only knew him as Crowley, so he really could not complain there. In any case, the Yardboys had members with far better names and/or aliases than the Deadlock Gang. Seriously, Pex? Boulder? Moose? "I'd hug you all, but I'm still not a hug person. Anyway, it's been too long!"
Grabbing one of the many chairs folded up and leaning against the wall of the warehouse, Alaster sat down. "So how was the trip? The local language gave you any trouble?" Alaster did have a bit of trouble learning when he first arrived in Japan. Fortunately, a year of classes made him adequate enough to fully grasp the basics. "It's not too bad once you get the hang of it." Grinning, he then spoke a single sentence in fluent Japanese. "Honestly, I'm beginning to prefer speaking like this over talking English." He then switched back to his native tongue, aka English. "Don't fret, though. I'm not becoming a weeb or anything."
Sadly, there was not much time to fool around. There was business to attend to. It was a shame this meeting had to be under these circumstances. It would have been nice to just hang out and relax, not having to worry about jobs, thefts, assassinations, or any of that. Perhaps Alaster would have introduced Meiko to the boys, or hell, even have a drink or two despite his strong dislike for anything alcoholic. Anyway, it was time to get serious.
"Just like I said in the message I sent, things have gone south rather quickly, and I'm now fighting two battles. And as much as I wish I could handle it myself, the fact of the matter is that I need help. I want to start my own gang here in Japan. And I could use the assistance with getting people, money, supplies, and a base to operate from. And once the new group is established, you're free to either go back home or stay here and join me. Either way, I'll make it worth your time."
Alaster then looked to Axl specifically. "So what do you say, chum? Team up just like old times? I could use an axe-swinging partner-in-crime to give these Japanese pricks what for." WORDS 575 TAGS RoseyNOTES --- |

It was Axl as frontman back in England, and it was him as frontman here, it was good that they had discussed this, surely the message Crowley had send was short and cryptic but there was a message in there alright, that he needed him, so the boys packed their backs, took that money he send for a plane and so on. And before you knew it they were sitting opposite each other again, as if no days had passed. That's how it felt for Axl and he appreciated that very much. "Feels only like yesterday you left us and yet so many years have passed already, I wish I could say there were more interesting stories to tell on my part, but I have been behaving very nicely, aye." He grinned from ear to ear, you see Axl wasn't a bad man in the case of loyalty. If you were part of his gang, you would forever be unless you betrayed him. But Crowley had not done so.
When Crowley told him that he was still not a huggy person, he pretended to wipe away his tears, "And here I thought we would have the happiest reunion." But he laughed rather quickly after that, and hit Crowley, albeit not too hard, on the shoulder, "We came as quickly as we could that's a mental hug for ya." the boys followed Crowley's example to take the other chairs so they could form a small ring and immediately get to business, the quicker, the cheaper so to say and they would know what to do. Axl shrugged and shook his head, "The cabbie and the hotel folks spoke nicely enough English, the proper language so to say." He was proud of his country in a way, yet disappointed in how it was handled and how they thought in general about quirkers, he left that out, it was no need to discuss it and thus he simply sat still, hands on his knees, leaning forward and keeping his eyes and ears open. That was what he was used to. He scrunched up his nose a little when Crowley said it was not bad once you get used to it and spoke a sentence Japanese, "Bless you." he said, as if the boy had sneezed but he grinned a little more with the next English sentence. "You are not sitting in your bed every day with the curtains closed watching those strange shows? You surprise me." But even with the grin on his face, you could see he was teasing and one of the others laughed shortly. "But you are right, we have a business to discuss and here to help you, it is useful to teach us the basics we will cross that bridge when we get to it." If it helped to be less suspicious, than he would gladly work on that.
"I am always in for old times sake." Axl said and he stood up to walk around the perimeter, "That's a lot of work though and we need a lot of information, it's not easy to trust people we do not understand. So tell me more about this place, don't you have some people in mind that you would already know and maybe trust?" It was hard but trust for Axl was everything, if he liked it here and got the hang of it, he might even consider to stay. "Do you know how such a pain in the ass it was to bring this Axe with me, security keeps getting better and better, but I am still the smartest one."

It was crazy to think that only around three or so years had passed since Alaster had been given the money, plane ticket, passport, and fake identity to leave England behind and start a new life. It felt like such an eternity ago with how much of his life had changed. So much had happened in those three years. He was no longer Crowley the teenage gangster who tortured and killed just to survive. He was now Crowley the eighth most dangerous criminal in the country. Alaster had definitely gone far, and he had the good old Yardboys to thank for that.
Alaster chuckled. It was good to know that Axl still had that brilliant sense of humour of his. And it was also good that the locals didn't cause the boys any trouble. He remembered back when he first got to Japan just how bad day one was. Most of the locals there either didn't bother speaking English, or spoke in the most horridly gratuitous English imaginable. And that was from the few who even bothered listening to Alaster try to ask for directions. It took forever to find someone with decent enough English to point him in the direction he was going without making it sound like a bloody riddle. But hey, at least Axl did not have to deal with that.
Once again, Alaster could not help but chuckle. "Good to know you still enjoy your jokes. Never change, Axl." Sadly, this conversation had to shift from comedy to strict business. But it could not be helped. This was an important matter after all. Alaster smiled upon hearing Axl say he was always in. A true comrade there! But of course, things would not be so simple and straightforward. There was a lot of work to be done. Information to gather, people to recruit and judge as either trustworthy or a waste of their time, money to steal, supplies to acquire.
"Japan is mostly filled with rubbish from what I've seen thus far. Morons everywhere, fools who don't care about trust, the main foundation to a functional and competent organization. They only seem to care about money, power, dominance, the typical short-sighted goals. Despite that, I have noticed a few diamonds in the rough. A few salvageable individuals, and some potentially useful allies."
Even in the Deadlock Gang, those bunch of despicable idiots, there were one or two reasonable people there, those who were also dissatisfied with how things were going, but not being vocal about it in fear of incurring Revolver's wrath. All Alaster needed to do was reach out to them, convince them that they would be so much better off with him, or at least against the Deadlock Gang. And as for potential allies, Alaster already knew a few people he could approach. He would need to call them later once he had established his organization better.
And speaking of organization, he would need to come up with a name for the group. Something fitting, something that could instill fear in others, something that was simple (but not too much so) and to the point. But Alaster wasn't at that part just yet. There were still many things to do first before coming up with that.
"Well it's good your cunning hasn't wavered one bit. Would be a real shame to mess up before we even began. But considering how many idiots populate this country, I'm really not surprised you were able to hide your axe." Really, with so many different kinds of quirks these days, Alaster would have thought that security would have stepped it up. But it seems not.
It was fortunate that there were so many fools here in Tokyo alone that Alaster and the Yardboys could take advantage of. If they played their cards right, then it would not be too long before a new band of misfits and badasses took the place by storm. Just the thought excited Alaster. WORDS 660 TAGS RoseyNOTES --- |

He had enough jokes, it was just to see if his friend was still his friend. But the moment the business talk was happening, the grin disappeared and Axl put his serious face on. Yes, he was one of the smartest. He knew how to trick the security for the airplanes and he knew how to manage his way around. His charisma enough to persuade people to go and talk English to him and so on. He had always worked well but maybe he had outgrown the yard and now it was time for him to find a new goal in life and maybe that was this opportunity. Yes, the name wasn't missing in the newspapers. He had been active enough lately.
"Ugh that sounds rubbish." Axl mentioned, leaning back on the chair so it was only on the last two chair legs. He had a lot to think about. "Do these morons not understand that trust is of essential stuff when you raise a gang and when you raise havoc. You need people you could depend on." He rolled his eyes, what a bloody idiots. But he nodded, of course, even in a bunch of no-goes, there were always those that you could shape and make better when it came to finding people that would fit. "And they are here in Japan?" It was a simple form of curiosity where Axl wondered on how many people he should count and how many fights he would have considering to get those people. To be honest, by outgrowing the yards in England, he had not have so much fun anymore. The idea that he could make that havoc and make a name for himself in Japan, in Tokyo, hm that sounded like something he wouldn't mind working on. The bloody language would only be ridiculously difficult. "It's me being cunning that will help you with the plans here and hopes to learn more about it. It will save us a whole bunch." The Englishman spoke when his dear friend gave him a compliment about the fact he had brought his weapon across the ocean. But he was curious, he wanted to know more, "So start from the start, you have found people that you would like to work with you, people not too stupid to understand the necessity of trust. But how do you want to start? What do you want to do?" Did he have a plan or was it the start to now form a plan. To be honest, Axl didn't mind both, considering the second would give him some input as well. But would he know enough to be actually helpful within Japan.
He would need to know a lot, he would need to know to play his role correctly and not make any accidental incidents because if there was something Axl hated. It was making mistakes that could have been avoided. He slammed the chair legs back on the ground and looked at Crowley. What would be the start?

Indeed, trust was one of the most important and fundamental building blocks of any successful organization, the foundation that kept any self-respecting gang from falling apart from within. Alaster understood that. Axl understood that. Anyone with common knowledge and a functional brain understood that. It was sad then that there were so many fools who failed to see that very crucial point. But it was fine, as any organization that lacked that simple yet vital component were very easy to dismantle and take apart. And for Alaster, that was part of the plan.
But of course, every plan needed a start. A beginning to get the ball rolling. Without a good one, there could be no momentum gained. Fortunately, Alaster already had some ideas in mind. "Well right now, there aren't very many of us for what we need. So that will be the first hurdle to overcome: Gathering more members to join us. Strength in numbers, and all that. As for how to do that, my plan is simple. Find several weaker gangs and convince them that they're better off with us. Gain their trust by helping them with whatever troubles plague them.
"Then once that's done, we gather the essentials. Money, weapons, vehicles, supplies, a safehouse or two, allies, anything that will make our jobs easier. Then once we have all that we need, that's when we make our move. Put ourselves on the map and let Tokyo know that there's a new player in town. And from there, it's just a matter of taking down whoever gets in our way, assimilating other gangs and their resources, weeding out anyone who proves to be incompetent, supporting our allies and making sure they do the same for us, and keeping low enough on the law's radar that they don't pick up on our activity."
Alaster could imagine it. A city under his thumb. A place where Meiko would be happy and safe. An organization that was like family to him, and one whose members treated themselves with respect. A proper gang, not like those jokers back in the Deadlock Gang. And speaking of those fools... "And once our group is fully ready, once we have everything we need, then we will utterly crush the Deadlock Gang. We'll use them as an example of what happens to those who dare to defy us."
Of course, none of this would be easy. Nothing in life was ever easy. But that was alright. Alaster was determined to make his vision a reality. And with Axl and the rest of the Yardboys helping him out, it was only a matter of time before his goals would become a certainty. WORDS 446 TAGS RoseyNOTES --- |

Axl listened, he knew Crowley well enough to know indeed that trust was of utter importance. That's what they done in the past, that's how they got him here. Because they trusted him, because he was their friend. The bulky man nodded and wanted to know what the plans were, where to start, what to do and where to look. But the plan was already there, which was to be honest not a surprise to the Brit. He nodded, finding smaller gangs, hm, if some were as pathetic as the one he mentioned before that might not be too difficult. Gang wars and rivalry had always been there but to promote the idea of a family, of real trust might be helpful when it came to what they could and would be able to do as a better and bigger gang. "I like that plan." He simply stated. He would listen as Crowley continued, they should not underestimate the recruitment but than again they were with the four of them, it should be at least a bit easier. Especially if they were able to catch up on Japanese or found something like a device to help them. He looked at the man next to him and gave a short long nod, Oliver could write down what they needed. It was better for the plan to be remembered by all of them. He liked it, Britain would never bring him this far than the rural alleys and places of Tokyo. This was why he was born, this was why he was who he was and he would get a grasp of it by standing beside a man he could trust. "That sounds all very well and you know I am game." He moved his hand through his thick blond hair, "I can't wait." He grinned. But Crowley wasn't done and that's when the blond grinned more, "Now you sound entirely like the man I know." Which made him laugh shortly, he looked at his other companions. He had been the frontman, it would now be his job to make sure they would take their new orders from Crowley.
Yes, it would be slightly difficult but if they all proved their worth, they would be the core of this new gang. Some might go home, he suspected Thomas at least of that idea but for now, they would see. "So I think it might be good to find devices for us to make sure we can speak Japanese, we might need a mechanic or a tech, Oliver here can do a lot but not with stuff he doesn't know." Which was the language and his friend nodded, Axl's face darkened a bit, "I don't want to wait too long, I am eager to start your plan."

Naturally, there were a few things that needed to be done beforehand, but it was safe to say that all the pieces of the plan were in place. They just needed to be moved to the correct spots. Alaster was more than aware of the fact that it would not be easy. That so many things can go wrong. However, that was why he had a backup plan, just in case things went off the rails. A good strategist did not just stop at a Plan B, C, D, E, etc. in case Plan A failed. No, there needed to be hundreds if not thousands of plans to fall back on. Not that Alaster felt the need to go over each and every single one of these backup plans with the rest of the boys at the moment. The main plan should suffice for now.
"Of course. I happen to know a few people who can make us some translators, and it won't set our funds off by too much." Very handy to have contacts in the criminal underworld. Plus, it would be a lot easier for Axl and the others to get things done without having an unnecessary obstacle like a language barrier in the way. "It shouldn't take very long to get them. A few days at most, if that. Best case scenario is just a couple of hours. And once I do, then we can move on to the really fun stuff."
Alaster could not wait to get started. Convert and assimilate the smaller gangs, establish dominance over the others, and learn from the mistakes of the Deadlock Gang. And naturally, wipe those traitors off the bloody map. He could see it now. An organization under his control, willingly and obediently carrying out his will. If the name Crowley did not yet strike fear into the hearts of all of Japan, then this would bring that one step closer into becoming reality. He was going to enjoy watching the streets burn whilst sitting atop his throne, built from the bones and corpses of those foolish enough to defy him or incur his wrath.
This is for you, Meiko. For you, I shall give you the world! But first, I must amass an army mighty enough to conquer it and make it mine!
With a sinister smile, Alaster grabbed his phone and began to dial his contact. He was looking forward to this. The start of his very own gang, his kingdom. It would be a long road and not an easy one, but one Alaster would not hesitate to travel down. Anything for Meiko. Anything for his beloved angel.
