Their previous assignment was an easy and quiet one. He had both his students look for signs of natural disasters in the city, and both his pupils had done pretty well. Of course they had been actively looking for things at that point so it was a far cry from a normal patrol, but still it was a good experience for them.
However, Itsuki had then discovered that his information was incorrect. It seemed Aquatica wanted to be a more front line Hero, dealing with criminals and villains first hand rather than worry about rescue. Personally he thought her quirk was well suited to being a rescue hero, but if that wasn’t what she wanted to do, then he would introduce her to what it would be like as a front liner.
Shockwave had met up with Aquatica outside of U.A’s gates once more after a long monday morning of classes and had taken her to the staff parking lot where the two would climb into his car instead of taking the train downtown.
“We’ll be taking my car down to the docks today. Today’s mission is going to be dangerous, so you have full permission to use your quirk as you need, but I want you to try to stay as close to me as possible. There’s been reports of whole cargo shipments that have gone missing and suspicious looking people in the area. I’ve been able to confirm that there are a group of small time crooks that operate around here. So our job is going to be to find them, and bring them out into the open. It might take us some time to search everywhere but I’m sure both of us together can get this done in no time. You think you’re ready for this?”
He would ask her as he drove out of the U.A parking lot and began their ride to the docs. He wanted to make sure that Aquatica had as much information to work with as possible. While this was training for her, he didn’t want her getting hurt.

Melody was kind of excited, kind of nervous, and honestly kind of scared. This was going to be like her first actual mission ever. Her outing with Luka and shockwave was cool but it's not the kind of work she wanted to do. Of course if she had to go do rescue operations she would but she felt much more at home with people who were violent and suppressing them. She never really understood why, but using her quirk on others felt kind of satisfying. Like subjecting someone else to your will..WELL she put those honestly very worrying thoughts away in her memory vault and waited for the instructions for their mission.
He had met her outside the gates, she already came dressed in her costume. GOD she loved to wear it, it was so flowy and pretty! She followed him to the staff parking lot...wait what the hell? He said that they were going to use his car.. Melody squinted her eyes at him, back home this would be seen as extremely inappropriate..some states it might even be illegal, who knows, she didn't. Well regardless this is what they were doing now, melody sat in the back seat and fastened her seat belt. He explained the mission a bit further and apparently they were going to the port. " Uhhhhh maybe? I dont think you really can be ready for this sort of stuff." she said in a curious tone as she looked up towards the roof of the car. "But if we're at least near a huge source of water this should be super easy for me." she said smiling, it had been a while since she had gone near the ocean, she wondered if it would be really easy to control all of that water.
She looked out the window rather excitedly as they began to pull up to the port. The ocean still looked as beautiful as she remembered it.

"That's an excellent answer, always expect the unexpected! No matter how ready you feel you should always assume that something will be out of your control."
He said with a bright smile on his face as he drove. The two would talk back and forth during the whole car ride, Itsuki giving her all of the information she needed to be ready for this mission. Everything from how many people he expected for them to bust, to the rough layout of the area. He even went as far as to suggest they flood the place with seawater to catch them off guard if Aquatica could manage it.
"If things go south, see if you can't use the sea water to create a bit of a flood. With both of our quirks it'll provide us the easiest get away should we need it. I know that is pretty demanding of you, but it'll be a good opportunity for you to push past your limits."
Itsuki pulled up, finally stopping the car at the port, hiding it between two large shipping containers so it wasn't so apparent that two heroes were stepping out. He glanced down towards Melody with a bit of anxiety, hoping that he wasn't pushing her too hard too fast... but t his kid had shown the most promise out of all the students he had interacted with so far, he really wanted her to succeed.
"Right, so I want you to start by talking to the staff around here. See if you can investigate the missing shipments, ask them what they know and try to piece a story together. I'll be with you, but I want you to take charge of this. I'll be keeping my eyes open for anything suspicious, and if I suddenly disappear, use the bracelet I gave you to keep in touch with me okay?"
He stated as he put an earpiece into his ear, tapping on it once as it sprang to life silently. He would then lead the way past the two containers he had parked between, heading towards the shipyard where the two could see a few workers out and about.
