THE MEDIATOR
Character: Delta Ivey
Starting Prompt: The Fourth Corner has started to thrive once again since Delta Ivey took full ownership of it, but the bar owner still has much to learn if she wants to live up to her predecessor and adoptive father. In particular, she needs to get a bit more familiar with the darker dealings one gets wrapped in, doing business in Kabukicho. Fortunately, recent local happenings give her the chance to do just that.
After a long history of conflict and violence, two local gangs have recently decided two reconcile and come to a deal on territory disputes. These gangs are the small Ueshiba-kai yakuza family, and the Blue Dragons, a local gang comprised mostly of ethnic Koreans. For their peace talks, the two leaders have selected a location in purely neutral territory to conduct them. A bar whom both are familiar with will be hosting: The Fourth Corner!
Both leaders were close enough with the late Shirou Watanabe, the prior owner and Delta's adoptive father, but they've yet to meet Delta herself... Which puts quite the pressure on her when it comes to hosting their peace-talks and mediating the two groups! Thus begins Delta's efforts to make sure these negotiations go smoothly... For the sake of her bar, and her reputation as the current owner.
Story Beats: The story will begin with Delta meeting each of the gangs individually, on nights at the Fourth Corner, having to use her social skills to try and get caught up to speed on the individual feelings and rivalries between the two groups. In doing so, she'll also find out just how capable the prior owner was, realizing what exactly she has to do live up to his example and get by in Kabukicho.
Any other threads might occur depending on who else is interested in getting involved when it comes to protecting the bar on the night of the negotiations, or simply want to help Delta mediate the talks.
The bulk of the saga will take place during a thread in which Delta has to host and mediate the peace talks between the Ueshiba-kai and Blue Dragons.
NPCs Involved: Will need some significant ST involvement for the two gangs, pending any villains who'd rather swap in their own groups.
End-Goal: Have Delta be forced to face Shirou's death a bit more, and show her that the life she's pursuing isn't always going to be so smooth, while forcing her to adapt and think about what really made her adoptive father so great at his job.
Notables: Nothing notable I can think of at the moment, STs will be needed, but no large involvement of police/heroes/government.
Completed Saga:
