Character: Hotarubi Deguchi
Saga start date: 9/3/19
Starting Prompt: Deguchi, interested in building her platform to run as a youth-focused, quirk-friendly candidate for mayor in her hometown of Komae, Tokyo, visits UA to begin stumping for support and building her platform. She does so against a candidate who she considers unfit for office, given his history of anti-quirk sentiment, which she feels threatens to turn Komae and its people against UA. There, she meets with Mosa and Nimue, to begin discussing what the students and teachers at UA want from their local government and how she can best serve UA.
NPCs Involved: Rosey's Chieri and Takeo
Story Beats:
Notables: Rosey offered me
Chieri and Takeo in advance, to participate in this! I'd also like to note Komae is just one city in Tokyo, if that matters.
Completed Saga:
Never too Late to Learn (with Mosa and Nimue), 16 posts
The Last Thing I Needed (with Libra), 13 posts
A Possum and a Promise (with our only resident possum), 11 posts
Searching for a Strategy (with Chieri), 10 posts
Better not Blow it (with Takeo), 11 posts
Mayoral Debate (with Rosey as ST), 10 posts, this is the one with the end goal in it
Next Saga can begin on”

- As she leaves the meeting, Deguchi additionally encounters Perry the Possum, who listened in on her meeting. Faced with his additional viewpoint, she is forced to confront the narrow scope of her operation and realizes her message needs to speak for all her constituents. In an odd turn, Deguchi looks to Perry for support on her campaign trail.
- Deguchi, realizing that the park fire she secretly started earlier threatens to derail her whole campaign, reaches out to Libra to help her with damage control, both in terms of legal protection and general strategy. The whole time, Deguchi never imagines Libra is one of the villains she calls out with her own campaign message!
- Knowing that politics is also about who you know, Hotarubi reaches out to Chieri and to Takeo, looking for both figures high up in the political spectrum and also with relationships in that spectrum. Whether they endorse her or not will be dependent on the outcome of the thread, but either way, she will gain valuable insight and
- Deguchi delivers her final address to a crowd of Komae's citizens. In this speech, she addresses the concerns over her own past and her quirk, while also driving home the importance of her pro-UA policies and what UA means to the people of Japan. Nervously, she waits the announcement of the new mayor, with those who supported her run.
