Melody had been feeling a bit upset lately, she recently had broken up with Eli...over text and all that shnazz. She had a hard time being honest with herself about her feelings, especially so in person. She pinched the bridge of her nose as she rode the bus to Tokyo park, ugh she felt like absolute crap over the whole situation. She got upset that he never showed up to her room to talk about stuff, it was a really important deal to her and he just brushed it off. Her 17 year old brain couldnt understand the concept of him being busy, she took it personally.
However it was over and done with, she knew it was too good to be true after all. Her angsty teen brain took over and continued to flood her thoughts, was she being too harsh? Was she being overly dramatic again? Melody had a tendency to over react and it developed a sort of paranoia in her head on if she's being rational or not. However she snapped back to reality when the bus suddenly read out in a robotic voice "Tokyo park, stopping now, if you need to get off at this stop please do so now, next stop, kabukicho." she grabbed her bag and immediately rushed out the door. Crap, she totally zoned out and almost missed out her stop. It was painfully obvious she had never been on public transport before and had no idea how the hell it worked. She used to walk, or when she still lived in Florida her mother would have someone drive her there.
But what was Melody doing in Tokyo park you were asking? Well that requires a bit of backtrack, it had been a while since Melody had done anything with her music. She had taken a break to focus on her schooling, internships, Sports festival, and even cheer leading ate up all her time previously. But now nothing was in her way, she could juggle school and her path to becoming a singer, she planned for a surprise pop up concert for her fans who went to Tokyo park today. Would anyone show up? She kinda doubted it, she felt like her following was beginning to die down a bit due to her lack of presence for such a long time, but as she began to approach the venue she pulled up her hoodie and put on her shades so people wouldn't recognize her immediately and she could sneak around. However she was a bit surprised to see that a decent amount of people showed up! It made her happy that there were still some people interested in her music and in her, it warmed her heart. She looked over to the staff who were there waiting for her to help her put on the little pop up concert, after a small nod the music began and she jumped onto the stage from the crowd. "TOKYO PARK, HOW ARE YOU GUYS DOING TODAY?" they said where the group who was there cheered for her.
She pulled down her hoodie and let her ponytail fly loose in the air, some people in the crowd began to freak out when they recognized her. She went over to where the mic stand was and began to sing, she was singing a cover of a song that used to be extremely popular during her mother's time, it was one of her favorite songs and a bit of a homage to her that no one really knew about. She began to absolutely DESTROY the cover, she hit every note perfectly, her stage presence was pretty good for her first concert and her having NO idea how to establish said presence. The pop up began to wrap up after a few songs and it was time for melody to go, "Thank you everyone for coming out! You have no idea how much this means to me! I love you all!" she said through her breaths as she was clearly tired. As she began to leave the stage however her fans suddenly forgot what personal space was and began to bum rush her. Melody tried to run but she was too exhausted from the performance to really run. "WAIT WAIT WAIT" she tried to say "NO WAIT NOT TODAY I-" she yelled after as her fans soon got a hold of her, people were giving her slips of paper asking for her autograph and pictures and stuff and absolutely suffocating her. She began to freak out "SOMEONE, HELP ME PLEASE, GET OFF ME." as her fans ignored her pleads to let her go. Fuck, Eli could have helped her out at this point..but he wasnt around anymore. Melody hoped they'd eventually let her go but her anxiety began to get the better of her, she started wondering if this would be an ok case to use her quirk...she really didnt want to.

Post by Isamu Iwamoto on Aug 29, 2019 23:26:27 GMT -4
With the coming of the weekend, Isamu was finally free. For the first time in what seemed like an age he had no plans, no obligations and though he would not usually think as such, no training. With his Grandfather out of town, regrettably attending the funeral of an old friend, their usual training session was put on hold. U.A had been more work than he had been expecting when he applied but Isamu was nothing if not determined, he would bring to bear their same stubbornness he did to any challenge and eventually surpass it. He decided that he had been taking things a little too hard lately and that some R&R was more than called for, at least he would be able to have one weekend where his muscles weren't groaning in protest come Monday morning. With no other outstanding plans, Isamu decided to just simply go out, see what took his attention and just go with it.
Though Summer was almost over the heat was still well and truly present, especially on such a clear day like today. Isamu decided to throw on a loose singlet top and thin jeans before heading out to Tokyo proper, maybe he could get some shopping in? As with most weekends, the city was even busier than usual, he even spotted a few Heroes out and about, no doubt patrolling the streets. Isamu smiled, fondly imagining the days to come when that would be him, though maybe not in quite so many layers. Some of the Heroes looked more than a little hot in their elaborate ensembles. Though he would later dismiss the memory as irrelevant among a tumultuous day, Isamu spotted two rather strange looking individuals out of the corner of his eye. An enormous man, bare chested and tattooed with a great eagle across his body, walking alongside a sinister looking man with features more akin to aquatic life than mammalia. When he turned to fully regard them they seemed to spot the group of heroes walking down the street, quickly whispering to each other before ducking into a side alley. While he might have considered it a little suspect, the Heroes didn't seem to notice so Isamu just wrote it off as strange people being strange.
It was odd though. Sure the city could get really busy over the weekend, but it was usually people going every which way and that. Today though there seemed to be a general consensus to the foot traffic, a large portion of pedestrians all heading in the same direction. Having nothing better to do, Isamu decided that he may as well follow the crowd and see what exactly was going on. When he reached the outer boundaries of Tokyo Park Isamu stopped for a moment to try and figure out what exactly was happening that had so many people congregating in the park today. A short ways in the distance he could spot a few structures that he knew were not a permanent fixture of the Park, it almost looked like a stage of sorts. It took a moment but Isamu remembered a brief encounter he had in a record store in Shinjuku a few days past. He had been picking out an assortment of records for purchase when the teller asked him if was going to attend a pop up concert that was happening on the weekend, specifically in Tokyo Park.
For the life of him Isamu couldn't remember who the performer or performers the teller had mentioned was, only that they were more than a little excited about it when mentioning it to him. Being a lover of music in almost every form, Isamu saw no reason to pass the opportunity up for a free concert. Making his way into the park Isamu was forced to gently nudge his way through the building crowd the milled around, this was only a pop up concert, not a dedicated affair, so it stood to reason that the sound system in place might not carry as far as one might expect. Isamu fully intended the get a clear view of the stage whilst hearing the full range of the performance. After a few minutes of waiting Isamu watched as a petite blue haired girl took to the stage followed closely by the near deafening cheers of those around him. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but Isamu could swear that he had seen the teen at some point before. He put the thought from his mind for now, instead focusing on her performance.
It could not be said that she was untalented. She was blasting it out of the water, the crowd around Isamu going wild as she sang, putting her all into the performance. Song after song was a hit, her passion for music clear to all who looked for it. It gave Isamu more than a few ideas for his own musical projects. He'd have to look into finding a few of her tracks, that is if she had any to speak of. The concert ended on a high note, everyone in the crowd cheering for the young girl ash she signed off, giving everyone a wave before walking from the stage. That was when things turned sour. The issue was that with pop up concerts such as these, Security for the events were rare at best, today was one of those incidents. Fans eager to speak with their idol rushed the girl, quickly surrounding her petite frame, giving her no means of escape as it were. With all of the noise and clambering fans around him Isamu knew that one voice of dissension was not going to be nearly enough to dissuade the rabid fans of their harassment. With a cold frown on his face Isamu knew he had to step in.
He began to barge and slip his way through the crowd around him, deftly pulling people back and forcing them out of his way. Non violently, but forcibly enough to convince those he interacted with to not protest. It took him a few moments but he was able to get into the inner ring of harassers before finally breaking through to the girl in question, laying a protective arm around her as he fended off a few hands whose owners were a little too grabby for his liking.
"Give her some space dammit!" he shouted over the chorus of voices around them. He clicked his tongue loudly, it was clear that the crowd either couldn't hear him, or had no intention of agreeing. He leaned down so as to whisper in the blue haired girls ears. It was clear that she was more than a little distressed over what was happening.
"Don't worry, I'm going to get ya out of here ok? Just stay close to me alright?" he said, taking her hand in his. For a brief moment he didn't move before a torrent of pink sakura petals burst into existence around the two of them. They weren't violent in nature by any means, there was no force behind them, only a thick wall of soft petals to obscure them from view as Isamu deftly weaved his way in and out of the raving crowd, carefully pulling the singer with him. The petals remained where they had once stood whilst they blended in with the crowd who were too focused on where she HAD been as opposed to where she was now. It didn't take long, but eventually they were able to break out of the clump of people and move away from the crowd and behind a few trees for added cover. Isamu huffed loudly before giving a soft chuckle as he dropped the girls hand and turning to look her way.
"Sorry about that, are you ok? Things got a bit crazy there." he said, looking down at her, trying to make sure that she didn't have any injuries at all.

Melody began to have a hard time breathing, oh god she was in serious trouble. She thought about using her quirk since this was an emergency. her fight or flight response kicked in but when Melody began to try and scream she had run out of oxygen, their bodies were weighing down on her body. She's in a serious pickle..UGH WAIT THIS ONE GUY WAS ALL OVER HER- wait what? Her eyes were a bit glossy and she had trouble seeing since she was about to pass out. He whispered some soothing words to her, she was able to barely hear them but what could he do in this situation... she caught her breath for a second...Hey was that a cherry blossom..? Melody then suddenly saw a bright flash of pink lights surround the two of them. She was amazed, what in the world was going on? These flowers were totally out of season..
She gasped for air quickly as she suddenly had space to breath. A big gasp could be heard from her as she coughed a bit from the sudden influx of air. She felt a hand grip hers and she began to follow it, someone was leading her out of the crowd thank god. She held onto him and tried to keep up with his pace, she barely could since he seemed to be moving rather quickly. Suddenly she found the two of them hiding behind some of the trees in the park. She laid flat on her back just trying to get her breath back, once she got enough breath to speak she spoke to him. "Y-Yeah...I'm..fine...I can heal myself later if im hurt.." she said as she tried to sit up, she looked him in the eye for a few moments and immediately blushed.
Of course he had to be a dashing prince charming who saved her. He seemed to be around her age and had a white under cut hairstyle, he seemed pretty fit too. Oh god this was awkward..'quick say something you idiot.' she said to herself mentally"Uh..thanks for saving me." She said trying to sit up "Are you injured anywhere?" she said looking away from his face and to his hands and arms to see if there were any cuts or bruises since apparently her fans could be quite ruthless savages. She still loved them but now it was a love accompanied by some serious what the hell, you're all animals mental note. She looked over the tree to see if they were looking for her and they still were. She put up her hoodie to try and hide her blue hair since it was kind of a dead give away as to who she was. "We should probably keep moving. What do you think...?" she said kind of leaving the sentence hanging for him to give her his name. She was curious as to who he was and why he tried to save her? It wasn't every day that a random who she assumed was a civilian to play hero and save a hero student..it was honestly kinda embarrassing. For some reason however he seemed kind of familiar to her, she couldn't put her finger on why though..where had she seen him before?

Isamu had barely gotten his self imposed charge free of the roaring crowd and behind the cover of the tree line before she dropped herself down to the ground on her back, seemingly in an attempt to rest and catch her breath. Isamu couldn't exactly blame her, he could tell pretty easily that she was shook up about what had almost just happened. Had their situations been reversed he wasn't quite sure he could have held up as long without lashing out in some way or another. The idea of being pushed in on all sides, surrounded and hounded by a plethora of people he didn't know was not a pleasant one. Despite himself, Isamu had been fairly anxious pulling the girl from the crowd, afraid that some more eagle eyed fanatic would see through his ploy and start the whole issue all over again. Luckily that had not been the case and they were home free, well, almost.
He gave her a quick check over, not noticing any cuts or scrapes of any kind, but that didn't mean she hadn't been hurt in some other way. Her words of being able to self heal put his mind at ease though, such Quirks were always damn useful. She sat upright lazily, as if for all the world she would rather remain laying on the grass, and looked in his direction for a brief moment. Brief because before long a red tinge colored her cheeks as she quickly looked away. Isamu raised a brow and chuckled lightly under his breath at the sight. Subconsciously Isamu stood a little taller, drawing himself up slightly. It wasn't every day that a cute girl blushed as soon as looking at you after-all. When she composed herself again, the girl thanked Isamu for coming to her rescue.
"No worries at all. I was more than happy to help." he said, his tone sincere and warm. It was clear that no one else was planning to step in at the time, so Isamu was the only one willing to help. Not that he minded though. Sure he'd have preferred if the circumstances necessitating a rescue hadn't occurred in the first place, but the opportunity to rescue a damsel in distress? Every Hero worth his tights needed to have something like that under his belt. She even went so far as to check if he himself had any injuries, something that brought a smile to his face. Even after all that, she was concerned for his well being. He gave himself a once over just to be sure but he was quite certain he was fine, the fans hadn't been that rabid after all.
"I'm fine, thanks for asking though. Things got a little crazy back there but as long as you're alright..." he said, trailing off towards the end, leaving the words unsaid as he smiled down at her. Isamu followed her gaze as she peered off behind the trees they now hid behind, watching with morbid fascination at the roaming crowd of fans who were still on the lookout for the girl who sat on the ground behind him. Surely they could get the idea by now that she wanted to be away from them? They'd taken their support to a whole new level, a concerning level if he was being honest. He knew full well that the Idol business in Japan was in some respects brutal. The fans were also rabid and fanatical so he supposed it wasn't too much of a stretch to believe that the people today acted in the way they did. Still, that didn't mean Isamu had to agree or even come close to understanding why they did what they did.
Isamu had a passion for music, that much was clear to anyone who had seen his room, but he still had the decency to respect peoples boundaries. What these people had done today crossed more than a few lines that Isamu had never even considered stepping over. Shaking his head at the thought he turned back to the girl in question. She had re-applied her disguise from earlier, pulling her hoodie up to cover her vibrant blue hair to hide what was most likely her most defining feature. The girl suggested that they keep moving, and Isamu could understand her desire to get herself as far away from those people as possible right now. When she asked his opinion, her worlds trailing off towards the end, it took Isamu a moment to realize that she was essentially asking for an introduction.
"Sorry," he said, giving a light chuckle as he reached his hand down, offering it to her. "I'm Isamu, nice to meet you." he said whilst wearing a bright smile. He was still more than a little curious about this girl he had met by chance. Some small part of him was telling him he had seen her before, he just couldn't remember where. He did agree with her though, they really should move further away, those damn fanatics were still on the prowl, it wouldn't be long until they were found.
"I think that might be best," he said, glancing over his shoulder briefly at the add-hoc search parties. "Things are getting a little hectic here today." he explained.
Isamu had to admit that today hadn't exactly gone as he had expected it to. Instead of some light shopping and maybe a nice bit to eat for lunch he found himself amidst some drama of sorts. Though it could not be said that he wasn't enjoying the company he now found himself in. He had been more than happy to step in and help the blue haired beauty with the problem she had found herself a part of. He felt obliged to see her to safety, so to speak. The only question was where to go, obviously out of the park would be the first task, but after that, Isamu didn't really know. Maybe she would have a suggestion or two?

He said his name was Isamu, she struggled saying in her head for a bit..is a moose? Isamoo? Oh she had to say it a few times over a bit to practice it cause she was absolutely terrible with names, faces were a different story. Especially if they were easy on the eyes, well an ugly face could have the same power behind it but different emotion entirely. Oh wait she had to give her own name, duh. "I'm Melody, Melody Miro." she said giving her name, "Anddddd those are apparently my rabid fans...I've never seen them act like this before..what in the world has gotten into them?" she said remembering how small her following used to be..why were they acting so different now? ANYWAYS, melody was glad he agreed that they needed to get the hell out of here. The only question was, where were they to go?
Melody looked around trying to decide where they had to go to get the heck out of here. Hmm..Melody had NO idea where to go really, she hadn't thought about that "Maybe somewhere crowded do you know any where around here like that?" she asked him curiously. However suddenly one of the fans was able to spot the two and exclaimed to the others "HEY I FOUND HER SHE'S OVER HERE." she screamed to the others, suddenly the crowd flew over to them suddenly. However before then Melody managed to grab Isamu's hand and bolted away from the rabid fan. "Crap they found us already, we need to go!" she said as she began to bolt at full speed towards a random direction.
She ran as fast as she could as the people began to chase after the two of them. She had to think of a way to cut the off...wait, a lake...Melody suddenly had a good idea. "I need you to trust me Isamu. Ok?" she said before they suddenly cut through the bushes and made a mad dash towards the lake with him in tow, as soon as it looked like they were fall into the lake. Melody began to let out note while she was running, the water began to bubble and rumble and shine and melody's hair began to float as they ran. Melody kept running while holding onto Isamu's hand he'd notice her foot would be held up by the water pushing back at the two. Melody had made a platform and it was now going to carry them through the lake. Oh god, she knew she could get in serious trouble for using her quirk, but at this point if those fans got a hold of her again who knows what they'd do to her, she almost suffocated last time.
Well regardless they were able to put some distance between them and the crowd now, after they reached the opposite side of the lake melody ran with Isamu into a crowd who was startled at her so freely using her quirk. She huffed and puffed and managed to help lose the fans.. "Oh god, they're persistent..." she said between breaths again "If they make me run again i'd rather let them kill me." she said jokingly

Isamu smiled as the newly introduced Melody, well, introduced herself. Melody Miro, it was a name that finally struck a chord with Isamu, jolting his memory just enough to bring an image to the forefront of his mind. Now he remembered why Melody looked so familiar to him, he'd watched her participate in U.A's Sports Festival last year. He was surprised and more than a little impressed if he was being honest, that the girl was able to keep up with the violent work load of U.A and pursue a career in music as well simultaneously. It was something made him a little jealous if he was being honest, though mixed with an equal serving of motivation. He'd always been interested in taking his hobby of music further than simply his own room, but between studying for the U.A entrance exams and training himself physically almost constantly he had simply never been able to find the time. Now here stood someone doing just that, and even another year above him at the Heroics School, what excuse did that leave him?
He watched with some small amusement as Melody gazed back from where they had just escaped from, at the still searching crowd of wack jobs who clearly hadn't been taught the valuable lessons of personal space and boundaries. Her face scrunching up slightly in an amusing mix of a pout and thinly veiled distaste at the whole situation they had found themselves in. Isamu couldn't exactly relate to the feeling of finding out that at the very least a portion of your burgeoning fanbase where a bunch of weirdos. Sure, he had gotten some positive feedback on his tracks he had posted online, but that was far and away different from having an entire crowd of fans attend a concert, pop-up or not.
"They do seem a little overly excited to put it mildly. Here's hoping they'll just give up sooner rather than later." he said in agreement with Melody.
As Isamu himself was trying to come up with a more permanent solution to their current predicament, Melody chimed in with a suggestion of her own. He could only agree with her that a crowded place would probably be best, blend in amongst everyone around them and all that. He even had a good place in mind, it was getting pretty close to lunch time after-all, why not get a bite to eat at the same time as hiding?
"Yeah, I know a good place, it's not too fa-" he began before being interrupted by a loud shout from behind, a woman who was now frantically pointing and waving in Isamu and Melody's general direction had managed to spot them and alert, quite loudly, the rest of the mob as to their location.
"Oh come on! Really?" he said, his tone full of exasperation as he halfheartedly threw his hands up. How could these people be THAT dense, it had been made more than clear that Melody wanted nothing to do with them at that moment. He wasn't paying attention to her in that moment, but Melody took hold of his hand, claiming that they needed to make a break for it....again. Isamu couldn't disagree with her on that, happy to be led along as they made their second escape for the day. They ran with no real direction in mind it seemed, at least none other than simply away from the groups chasing them, surprisingly quick for a bunch of fans. Well, at the very least it was a good cardio exercise....
All of a sudden Melody turned to Isamu as they ran and she asked him to trust her. A strange question at the time, but not something Isamu would be opposed to. He simply nodded to her, accepting, trusting that she had a plan of some kind in the works. She led him along further, through some bushes, bursting out the other side to the sight of an expansive lake in front of them. The closer and closer they got to the waters edge the stronger the feeling of unease that was building in Isamu's stomach. He really hoped Melody had something in mind, he wasn't too keen on swimming away from their pursuers. When they were no more than a few meters from the water Melody began to sing, a harmonious note cutting through all the noise around them causing a strange phenomenon of serene silence. The waters edge moved in time with her voice, it's surface rumbling and beginning to shine.
Though his brain kept trying to tell him that it wouldn't work, the hand that was pulling him along told him otherwise. Melody had asked him to trust her, the fact that she hadn't slowed down at all told him that she certainly had something in mind. Hopefully it was something other than soaked clothes. When his foot came to a stop on the very surface of the water, Isamu half expected his shoe to pass right through. Instead it felt like standing atop a wooden platform. Before he could make any comment on the phenomenon, the watery platform rocketed off away towards the far side of the lake, effectively ending the chase right then and there. When he and Melody stepped off of the hardened water she was able to stop singing, her previously floating hair slowly falling back into it's previous place.
"Well that's a neat trick." Said Isamu, staring back across the lake at the dumbstruck crowd that had been chasing them, going so far as to wave at them mockingly. He let out a small laugh at Melody's quip that was pushed out between deep intakes of air. The run had clearly taken it out of her, Isamu as well if he was being honest. Luckily it seemed like the mob had given up the chase for the time being.
"At least they finally gave up, that's a win I suppose." he suggested with a smirk.
He could honestly say that his day hadn't started anything close to how he had been expecting. And for the life of him, he honestly couldn't find a reason to complain about it.

Melody saw that the lake was the perfect chase blocker. Her rabid fans...that honestly came out of fucking nowhere had been left behind. The lake was the perfect obstacle, none of the rabid fans were able to follow the unlikely pair past the lake and she had managed to lead her and Isamu into the crowd. Hopefully no one followed them and reported that quirk use, she'd hate having to explain it to Junko sensei. She tightened the black jacket around her head, as if her quirk was not a dead give away to anyone who reported her. Who else could move water with the power of their voice? Well, she didn't use to only turn her body to water...so maybe not? Well regardless that is not that important right now, she had to focus on catching her breath and talking to moose boy.
As she laid against a wall to catch her breath, she laughed a bit when Isamu commented on her trick. "Thanks.." she said huffing right after to catch her breath "It's...it's still new.." she said huffing between breaths still, she was already tired from the show and that little stunt took quite a bit of energy out of her. "If you couldnt tell, my quirk lets me control water when my vocal chords are active." she said as she took out her palm and let some water move around above her hand before letting it dissipate back into the atmosphere "I can control it best when singing, I guess it's cause harmonization? I dont know...cant really explain it." she said taking one last big gulp of air JESUS CHRIST SHE HATED RUNNING. She fixed her posture letting out a sigh of relief when Isamu said that the trick had seemed to work. "Thank god, im gonna need to see if i can get security of some kind..cause that really was unsafe." she told him before realizing she had to properly thank him. She bowed to him and spoke with her head facing the floor "Thanks again for earlier. I really don't know what would have happen. I couldn't thank you properly the first time. Is there any way I can repay you?" she said looking around the area if there was something she could buy him...
Maybe he was hungry? Well she kind of was and honestly no one would expect them to go to a restaurant afterwards "Are you hungry? I could thank you by going to eat. That is if you're available. I probably already ate up so much of your time with my nonsense." she said looking at him hopefully. She seriously hated owing a debt to people and Isamu was no exception, she was also blissfully unaware that she would have other opportunities to make it up to him since they went to school together. She hadn't seen him before so she didn't know he went to U.A. She pointed to behind him to a restaurant chain she knew that specialized in table top grills, her favorite. "So what do you say?" she asked with a small awkward smile on her face, hopeful that he would accept her offer.
