Words: 460 @tony The otherwise peaceful August evening was interrupted by catastrophe and tragedy. A family dinner gone horribly wrong, an oven left unattended had spelled disaster. Located in the heart of the Tama region of the bustling Tokyo metropolis, the Shigokawa Apartment building was currently ablaze with a raging inferno. Twenty stories of lower to middle class apartments home to simple blue collar families and young couples, currently a huge plume of thick black smoke pillowed from numerous windows along the twelfth floor.
Izanami Ryū had been quick to spot the fire as she flew among the buildings on her evening patrol. Even in the evening light the dark plume of smoke stood out against the contrast of the night's sky. She had no idea how quickly the blaze had started, or how long it had been burning, but it didn't matter. Fire meant danger, and there would be civilians trapped and in dire need of rescue. Fire fighters and water Quirk Heroes could only respond so quickly, and they'd never everyone available to help rescue the injured and suppress the flames. So Izanami banked hard to the east and began to soar off in the direction of the towering inferno.
She arrived ten minutes later, the fire having grown exponentially since she first saw it. The inferno now consumed the entirety of the twelfth and eleventh floors, with flames already spreading even further. "Damn..." She said aloud as she touched down on a nearby rooftop. Amethyst eyes quickly scanning up and down the structure as she accessed the situation firsthand. "The people on the upper floors are going to be trapped, though hopefully the lower floors evacuated in time." Her bigger concern though was those trapped within the burning floors themselves. Anyone there was at major risk of immolation, smoke inhalation, and death. Izanami scanned down to the streets below. Fire engines were already beginning to arrive on scene, firefighters frantically unraveling lengths of hose and working at the fire hydrants as they prepared to battle the blaze.
The dragoness' gaze then scanned the streets and rooftops for any other Heroes of even Vigilantes in the area. She might be able to handle this alone, but... it was a daunting task for just her and the fire department. The more able bodied Quirk users they'd have... the better. Otherwise, the risk someone innocent was injured or worse, killed was much greater. And Izanami couldn't bear the thought of someone innocent dying under her watch. She leapt down to street level, intent to find the Fire Chief and see where her help would be needed most. She knew well enough it'd be the heart of the roaring inferno but felt the need to confirm with the authorities first.

The day started off pleasant enough. Tony was out taking a walk and just enjoying being outside. As usual, he was vigilant, keeping an eye out for trouble of any kind. So far, everything was fine. Nothing here but good citizens enjoying their evening. Nothing to worry about.
But then that changed in a flash. In the distance, there was some smoke rising up. Uh oh! Where's there's smoke, there's fire. It was not too far off from his current location, so Tony decided to go check it out. Even if it was far away, he would go anyway, because he wanted to help make sure that no one was hurt. There was no time to waste! Since Tony did not have his car with him, and there was no time to wait for a taxi, the fastest way to get there was to use his quirk.
¡Despiertate!
Summoning the beast, Tony got on Centaurion's back. Having seen the smoke, Centaurion did not need to ask Tony why it was brought out or where they needed to go. With a loud roar, the beast began to gallop, moving towards the source of the smoke as quickly as possible, being sure to move out of the way of traffic and people as it sped on.
About ten minutes later, Tony and Centaurion arrived on scene. The two saw it. An apartment building was on fire. Tony looked at the flames. The fire was already bad enough, but what had him really worried was the thought of people still being inside, trapped and in desperate need of help. There was no way that Tony could just sit here and do nothing. He was more than willing to lend a hand.
Fortunately, there were some things here that made the otherwise dire situation far more relieving. First, the arrival of the fire department. So Tony would not need to worry about that. Secondly, he spotted another pro-hero. As she landed to find the Fire Chief, Tony went over to greet the heroine.
"Hola, señorita. It's good to see another hero here. The more help, the better!" Unlike Tony, Centaurion just nodded and grunted in lieu of a proper greeting. It was not much of a talker, preferring to SMASH things with its fists.
Tony glanced over at the burning building. Where to start? Obviously just running in was ill-advised. It was wiser to come up with a plan of action first.

Words: 655 @tony Izanami turned on her heels, surprised at the voice behind her. She recognized it, though she'd never heard it in person before. "No hablo español." The violet heroine said, her accent extremely telling she was not a native speaker. Izanami grinned, crossing her arms across her chest. "That's the only phrase I know how to say in Spanish." It quite literally was, well, that and where's the bathroom.
Before her stood the heroic duo of Wildheart and Centaurion; though Izanami wasn't exactly keen on the specifics on the Hero's Quirk she knew he could summon his strange lion centaur companion at will. She also knew said companion was dumb as an ox, but popular with the children given his outlandish appearance. "If it isn't Wildheart in the flesh." Izanami said coyly as she stepped up to the man. He had a fair bit of height on her, even counting her horns she was only up to his eyes. "I've heard you called the Spanish Samurai, the news makes you out to be something of a romantic." Dragon Queen gave a short bow, as did the four serpent like tendrils that slithered out from her upper back. "And I am Dragon Queen, but we can save the formalities for later."
The Fire Chief turned to speak with the two, he was a gruff older man with a thick mustache and a persistent scowl on his face. Tall and broad despite beginning to near retirement age, grey hair couldn't betray the youthful energy in his commanding voice when he spoke. "Wildheart, Dragon Queen, it's good to have you here. We need all the help we can get." The man pointed to the rooftop of the building, nearly enveloped in the rising smoke from the lower floors. "Anyone above the eleventh floor was unable to evacuate. They'll be heading to the rooftops if they're able too. Normally we'd have a helicopter to airlift people to safety, but the updrafts from the building make the air pressure here too unstable. So we'll need your help getting those trapped on the rooftop to safety." Izanami was already scanning neighboring buildings, looking for suitable landing spots to drop off survivors.
"Then there's the matter of the burning floors. We don't have a way to know how many are still trapped inside, or where. My men are spread thin as is trying to handle the blaze. Most of our fire brigades are occupied down at the bay. Some flame Quirk Villain set a warehouse on fire in a drug bust, and they're keeping it from speaking to the entire docks." The chief stroked at his chin, weighing their odds over in his mind. "Whatever we do, we need to work fast. This apartment is fairly old, Pre-Quirk era, and it's not built to current safety standards. It could collapse any minute given how much weight the damage floors are trying to hold up. Time is of the essence."
Izanami just nodded, "Right." She looked back at the building, then to the two men before her. "Wildheart, I could fly you up to the rooftops, but I can't carry Centaurion as well. I'm only strong enough to carry a few people out at a time like this." A sullen look crossed the woman's face as she continued to speak. "My dragon form's too heavy if the building is as damaged as you think. I won't risk transforming on the rooftop. But... I'm also probably the best equipped to check the burning floors for survivors too." Her gaze then shifted back to her Spanish compatriot. "Apologies in advance Wildheart, but I don't actually know what your Quirk is capable of. I just know Centaurion is strong and fast." As Izanami completed her sentence water hoses began pumping onto the burning building, which audible groaned and creaked from the stresses on its steel from the rapid heating and cooling. ๑

Tony chuckled. Most people who did not speak Spanish would either nod and pretend to understand what he was saying, or they would just flat out admit to not knowing Spanish. But to do so in Spanish was pretty humorous. A shame it was not any other time and place, as this was a very serious situation here. Still, a little bit of lightheartedness couldn't hurt. Spanish samurai? Well I had better get Centaurion a blade then! And of course, he had heard of Dragon Queen, though this was the first time meeting her in person. "A pleasure to meet you. But yes, we will have to get better acquainted another time." Work must always come first, especially for heroes.
Listening to the Fire Chief speak, it was clear that the situation was dire. People were trapped, and with each passing second, their chances of survival would only continue to decrease. There was no time to waste! The victims needed to be rescued and evacuated to safety!
There was a slight issue. Izanami could get to the rooftops no problem, but as she had explained, she could not exactly lift both Tony and Centaurion. However, this would not be too big of a deal. The beast nodded once, understanding the situation. "Got it. Centaurion vanish for now. Then Tony summon Centaurion once Dragon Queen gets up on roof." Tony nodded, patting the beast's shoulder reassuringly. "I'll call on you once we get to the trapped civilians. I'll be counting on you, amigo." If there was any time for explanations, Tony would have explained just what the beast was capable of. He would just have to leave that for next time.
And with that, it was time to call the beast back. Centaurion's body became red, then shrunk back to the size of a basketball before fading back into Tony's consciousness.
"Let us go, Dragon Queen." There was no need to tell her to go as quickly as she could manage. It was obvious that every second counted.
