APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Izanami Ryū is a voluptuous young woman of Japanese ancestry. She stands at slightly above average height, with an athletic yet curvaceous build. Izanami sports a large bust, wide hips, and a slender waist, all working to give her a rather prominent hourglass figure. Izanami is considered by many to be a ravishing beauty, with most of her fans agreeing her beauty is only enhanced by her Quirk, Yamata no Orochi. She fully embraces her draconic visage, going so far as to polish her scales to a lustrous sheen. Overall Izanami is quite proud of her appearance, to the point of vanity.
Her Quirk gives the shapely woman many draconic and serpentine features, making her body reminiscent of a violet dragon. Among these are a large pair of leathery wings that sprout from her lower back, a long prehensile tail covered in spiny ridges, a crown of amethyst horns that adorn her head, violet colored scales that cover most of her body like armored plates, and pale lilac colored skin. Last but not least the heroine has several draconic serpents that sprout from her back, similar to a gorgon’s hair. They each possess vestigial brains and act more akin to pet snakes than to independent limbs.
Izanami has a long, wild mane of platinum blond hair that she styles into a large ponytail. It tumbles down well past the small of her back, reaching to midway down her thighs. The woman has striking amethyst colored eyes, a heart shaped face, and full lips. She often has a coy look about her, with an alluring yet calculating gaze to her eyes. Izanami has darker violet scales that grow along the sides of her cheeks, and large elvish ears that have reptilian characteristics and a scaly texture.

✖ Shedding: Izanami sheds her skin, a part of her biology she hates.
Personality:
Izanami Ryū’s personality has even taken on many draconic aspects in and of itself. Like the beasts of legend she is incredibly vain, proud, and haughty. She can be exceedingly self centered and cynical, and is frequently either icy cold with others or driven into a fiery rage when angered. Temperamental to a fault, she tends to struggle with her emotions and finds it easier to bury them for fear of having an outburst. Though she maintains a well crafted image with the public, in private she is much more likely to let her wild temper flare if provoked.
Despite this, Izanami is a genuinely caring individual. She has an incredibly strong moral compass, believing in justice and the rule of law above all else. She believes society would be chaos without order, and sees herself as an agent of order in the relative chaos Quirks have cast upon humanity. Izanami detests bullies, brutes, and those that use threat of violence to extort what they want out of those unable to protect themselves. She thinks others should only pick on someone their own size, which is usually her.
Despite her fearsome nature, Izanami is actually very motherly and affectionate to those younger than herself, often forgetting personal space in her excitement. She is known to frequently give hugs, often smotheringly so. The young woman also displays a more flirtatious side with those she is interested in, or in an attempt to coerce men into giving her things she desires. A notable glutton, and a self proclaimed carnivore, Izanami has a distinct love for cooked meat of all kinds. Despite this she is actually a mediocre cook herself. As a result, when not dining out Izanami tends to just sear things with her fire breath as a lazy means of cooking. She considers flame broiled meat an 'acquired taste.'

HISTORY
Izanami Ryū was born in the 30th of May, 2047 in at the University of Tokyo Hospital. The eldest daughter of billionaire Japanese industrialist Yamata Ryū and his wife Kushinadahime. Her father is the second generation owner and current CEO of Ryū Heavy Industries, a major defense contractor headquartered in Tokyo. Her father's company chiefly produces industrial and military grade heavy equipment, ranging from cranes, trucks, and forklifts to tanks, warships, and aircraft.
As the eldest of four siblings, Izanami has two younger brothers with her youngest sibling being a sister. Their father Yamata possesses the Quirk Desghidorah, which gives him a number of draconic features which his children also inherited. For decades Yamata operated as his vigilante persona, 'King Dragon,' an enigmatic figure wearing a gleaming battlesuit of titanium armor that appeared without warning in nations wracked by conflict. King Dragon displayed superhuman strength, speed, and stamina, but was most feared for his ability to transform into a massive three headed dragon with with ebony scales and crimson wings. The vigilante would strike without warning, destroying military bases and armories or using his fearsome power to rout whole militias.
In truth, Yamata was disdainful of his government selling his company's weaponry to tyrannical or oppressive governments, lamenting the suffering they inflicted using his weapons. As a result, King Dragon's strikes were always targeted attacks focused on either destroying Ryū Heavy Industries weaponry or defending those threatened by them. Yamata distanced himself publicly from his alter ego, never displaying his dragonic transformation to the media and making multiple press statements denouncing the vigilante's reckless actions. Behind the scenes, he kept numerous individuals silent or compliant with his secret identity through generous bribes or donations on their behalf. With the recent pardoning and subsequent legitimization of vigilantes, Yamata Ryū was pardoned by the Japanese government in a backroom deal. Under the condition he never disclose information regarding their arms dealing to the media.
Izanami and her siblings were each born with draconic Quirks of their own, inherited from their father. Where Yamata is a black dragon, Izanami and her siblings embody a violet, red, blue, and green dragon respectively. Their late grandfather attributed this legacy of dragons to an old family legend the Ryū lineage is descendant from Hoori, who married the goddess Toyotama-hime, daughter of the dragon god Ryūjin. The truth remains a mystery, though it does make for good public relations. Regardless, the Ryū siblings were not born with their Quirks inherently visible. As they reached the age of four their Quirks quickly began to manifest. The children grew wings from their shoulder blades, tails from their spines, horns from their skulls, and their bodies began to sprout scales in place of skin. Their frightening appearance made other children fearful of the Ryū siblings, and as a result they found it difficult to make friends in their youth. Their bound as siblings however, is incredibly strong due to the shared nature of their Quirks.
Izanami received a relatively normal upbringing all things considered. She attended a prestigious private school, and received tutoring at home to supplement her education. She excelled in sports from an early age, so much so she was often forbidden from competition by her school out of 'fairness' to other students who either did not possess Quirks or who's Quirks did not grant them increased strength or speed. This was an early lesson for Izanami that Quirk users would forever be treated differently by society, a lesson she has not since forgotten. Unfortunately for her, Izanami was schooled in the waning years before the pardoning of vigilantism and the founding of the first Hero Schools. Up through her high school and university attendance she continued on through prestigious, albeit otherwise normal schools. She is silently envious of the younger generation of Quirk users, who have the luxury of attending the first Hero Schools and receiving a more specialized education.
As a teenager Izanami became increasingly rebellious against her parents. Her mother wanted her to be an idealized daughter in her eyes, a pinnacle of upper class ladylike grace and sophistication. Kushinadahime was concerned her daughter would embarrass the family name with her tomboyish antics and emotional outbursts. Her father was more supportive, but unfortunately quite distance. In addition to his own vigilante work, often done under the guise of international conference trips, Yamata was still overseeing the day to day operations of his company. As such, his children rarely saw their father, and when they did he was often exhausted and would retreat to his study or office. The Ryū siblings had a largely strained relationship with their father, who they felt was absent for much of their early life. They didn't resent him, though they did find it difficult to truly bond with the man. It is one of Yamata's great shames as a parent, and he drinks to numb the pain of it.
Izanami stumbled upon her father's secret hideout one fateful day, messing around at one of the family summer homes shortly after getting her driver's license. Beneath the mountainside getaway she found a sprawling labyrinth of tunnels filled with King Dragon's paraphernalia. From his armored battlesuits, to his personal crime lab, medical bay, and supercomputer. Izanami quickly put the pieces together, discerning his secret identity and confronting her father in private about it. The confrontation between the two was heated. Literally in fact, with numerous objects scorched and fists punched through walls. Izanami wished to continue the family legacy of vigilantism and make a difference in the world with her Quirk. Yamata, while proud deep down, expressly forbid his daughter from doing so out of fear for her own safety more than exposing his secrets.
Naturally, Izanami defied her father's will, stealing away some of his old gadgets and one of his early model suits and taking up the alias of 'Dragon Queen' in homage to her father. She began performing feats of heroism in and around the greater Tokyo metro area. Using her draconic strength for everything from assisting in accident and fire rescue, to thwarting robberies, and even taking down villains on her own. Eventually though, the young Izanami bit off more than even she could chew. Facing a villain calling himself Susano-o, who wielded a Quirk that granted him the power of a thunderstorm. Izanami was thrashed mercilessly, unable to overcome Susano-o's lightning strikes or powerful gusts of wind.
She considered herself doomed, until she saw an armored figure fly in from the rooftops. Her father, once more donning his armor, proceeded to defend his daughter from Susano-o. The battle between the two was fierce, though Yamata gained the upper hand through sheer parental rage, ultimately beating Susano-o within an inch of his life and rendering the man unconscious. He helped Izanami to her feet, saying nothing to her before he flew off, leaving her alone in the rain to take credit for his victory as police arrived on the scene. Izanami confronted her father upon returning home, and he proceeded to argue with her in a calm but terrible rage. They argued long into the night, bu as the sun rose Yamata said it was a new day, and perhaps a new beginning. He refused to be a father his daughter felt afraid to come to for help, and vowed to support her as an adult as he had failed to when she was a child.
The two embraced, thus officially christening Dragon Queen's career in heroics. Izanami had her father's blessings, though in this new era of vigilantism she would need to learn from his mistakes. As a result, a year short years later when the Japanese government began pardoning vigilantes and beginning their officially sanctioned Hero Program, Dragon Queen was among the first in line for certification. Yamata Ryū remained semi-retired, both due to the numerous skeletons in his closet, and his belief the older generation must hand over the reigns to the newer one. Izanami became the family 'face' of heroism, with her siblings following closely in her footsteps. Their father remains focused on his company, and considers himself 'formally retired' from heroism.
Since then, Izanami has continued to operate as a Pro-Hero within Japan. Focusing on the Kantō region, with her home office out of Tokyo. She dislikes the heavy hand of government sticking its nose into every aspect of her work, but knows it is a necessary evil on the path towards true acceptance. She will happily fill out a thousand forms of paperwork if it means not having to prowl the streets at night as a vigilante. Izanami delights in the public perception of Pro Heroes as guardians and protectors, hoping to inspire others like her. Her day to day life has somewhat distanced herself from her family, as Izanami's work tends to consume her and she is adamant about not being babysat by handouts from her parents. As a result Izanami lives in a modest, yet affordable apartment a few blocks from her Hero Office. She hopes to in time amass a team of like-minded heroes, headquartered in a place more fitting than a government office building.

Dragon Queen
QUIRK INFORMATION
Quirk
Yamata no Orochi
Yamata no Orochi
Type: Transformation
Rank: E-Rank
Description: Yamata no Orochi gives Izanami the powers and abilities of its namesake, the Japanese dragon of legend. Greatest among these is the ability to transform herself into an enormous eight headed dragon, reminiscent of a hydra. In her humanoid form, she possesses a large set of wings powerful enough to support her weight in flight. She also has a long prehensile tail, its length ridged in bony spines with a pointed tip. A set of four bone horns grow in a crown-like shape from her skull, with two smaller upper horns and two larger lower ones. Though sharp, and fearsome looking, their angle relative to her skull makes them impractical as weapons.
One of Izanami's most peculiar abilities are eight tendril-like serpents that protrude from her back. Only semi-sentient, these serpents have vestigial brains in their skulls that can interpret sensory information like that of a real snake. This is then shared with Izanami's actual brain, including any sensation of pain the snake's feel. They are semi-autonomous, passively acting of their own accord though they can be controlled fully by her dominant brain. The snake tendrils can eat and drink, with their own crude digestive tracts to Izanami's stomach. They do not however, need to breath, receiving oxygen from her bloodstream rather than their own lungs. The serpent tendrils can be retracted back into her body, where they go into a dormant state resting internally. Izanami tends to only have a few of these snakes out at any given time. She finds it distracting and slightly overwhelming seeing through multiple sets of eyes at once. Though in moments of great clarity or adrenaline rushes she does tend to flourish all eight.
Izanami possesses the draconic ability to breath fire. Her saliva and mucus shield her internally from her own heat, and she is able to expel a volatile mixture of gases from her mouth that combust in the open air. Her body itself is resilient to fire, though not concentrated sources of heat such as plasma cutters or electrical strikes. Izanami can only create fire by breathing it from her mouth, and not those of her snake tendrils. In her transformed state though, all eight of her heads can independently breath fire. The flames she breaths are violet in color, due to the presence potassium chloride and strontium nitrate within her internal biology and the gaseous mixture she expels.
The premiere ability granted by Yamata no Orochi is the ability for Izanami to transform herself into an enormous eight headed dragon. Her snake tendrils become her dominant heads, which sprout from individual necks like the branches of a tree from her shoulders. With her massively increased size and weight comes an immense increase in physical strength, at a cost of much of her speed and agility. Her draconic form is a lumbering behemoth, relying on its writhing mass of serpent heads instead of its limbs. The fore and hind legs of her dragon form are wide set, their primary purpose to move her considerable bulk. Each head is capable of both independent thought and collective consciousness. Her neural network is distributed between them, meaning even if multiple heads are severed her memories within them are not lost. So long as at least one survives, she can too, provided blood loss or other injuries do not finish her off. Each head of her dragon form corresponds to a snake tendril from her human form, and injuries between them persist even as she transforms back.
Benefits:
- Draconic Visage: Izanami gains the physiology of a dragon, granting her a myriad of extra limbs and appendages. Equally important, it grants her increased physical strength, allowing her to lift up to 600kg.
- Dragon's Descent: Izanami has a large pair of leathery wings that sprout from her back. She is able to use them to achieve full flight.
- Dragonsfire: Izanami can expel a highly combustible gases her body develops, allowing her to breath fire at distances up to 12m.
Exhaustion and Weakness: Izanami's single biggest weakness is her Reverse Scale, an Achilles' Heel all dragons are rumored to possess. Her's is a large jewel-like diamond shaped scale that grows from her forehead. Cracking or damaging it causes her immense physical pain, with removing it outright causing sufficient pain to send her into a frenzied rage. In her dragon form several of her heads grow 'false reverse scales' from their foreheads, though the true one is a similar jewel-like scale that grows from her upper chest. Additionally, while she can freely breath fire, Izanami does not display any kind of pyromancy or innate control over the fire she breaths. She is effectively a biological flamethrower. Beyond its abnormal coloration from strontium, Izanami's flames are not otherwise noteworthy. She cannot breath fire in a vacuum, or in an oxygen poor environment. Her fire can be extinguished by normal firefighting means or protected against with fire resistant materials.
Unlike some Transformation Quirks, Izanami does not possess the ability to freely transform various parts of her body. She exists in one of two states, her humanoid form or her draconic form. This means she can never 'turn off' her Quirk, either masking its effects entirely, or achieving a partial transformation beyond what her body does naturally. This all but eliminates Izanami's ability to blend in with a crowd or conduct stealth or espionage, as her wings and scales easily give up her identity. Moreover, while her Dragon form is indeed powerful, it is large and cumbersome. Its size is both its greatest strength and biggest liability. The risk of causing collateral damage is greater, Izanami cannot transform when in confined spaces like a vehicle, and escaping into a building or subway effectively forces her to revert back to normal if she wishes to give pursuit.
When she begins to become exhausted, Izanami suffers from muscle cramps, most notably in her wings if they are heavily used. She will often visibly exhale black smoke as she takes ragged breaths of air, and her tail may hang limp as she cannot bother to maintain it in an upright position. When she is thoroughly exhausted, Izanami has great difficulty focusing mentally. She becomes unable to maintain control of her snake like tendrils, and they will act aggressively to anything deemed a threat. Her internal temperate can rise to the point of self inflicted heat stroke, and if in her Dragon form her heads may even lose rationality and become feral. If knocked unconscious, Izanami always reverts to her humanoid form, though if she collapses from sheer exhaustion she may sleep normally in either form.
