August 2nd. Today was a very special day for Kenshin. And why? It was his birthday! Today, he turned fifteen! After enjoying a wonderful breakfast with his family, Kenshin was pleased to see that he had several texts from his friends, all wishing him a happy birthday. So the day had already started off good. Hopefully, the rest of the day would be even better! Kenshin decided to take the day off and take it easy today. No sword practice, no schoolwork, no crime fighting (though that only applied to street patrols and actively searching out criminal activity, so of course he would step in if he personally saw a crime in progress), no stress, and no worries. Just relaxation and fun! The birthday boy headed to Tokyo Park, taking his bass guitar with him. He always had fun whenever he was jamming on his instrument. Plus, it was nice to entertain anyone who stopped by to listen. Hell, he had met and befriended two amazing people in G and Kumoko, and all because of his desire to play bass. Music really did have the power to bring people together! So would the boy meet anyone new today? Just what kind of crowd would he attract this time? Sitting down on one of the benches, Kenshin took out his portable amp. Then, he plugged in his bass to the amp. Now, it was time to play! After strumming for a bit to double-check that all the strings were in tune, Kenshin began playing an old classic. Although he could sing rather decently, Kenshin preferred not to do so. He would much rather play, though he would have no problem if anyone who was listening in decided to do so. As the boy continued to play, he saw a few people looking over in his direction, listening to him play. Smiling, the boy kept playing. Hopefully today would be a peaceful one. It would be a shame if some idiot tried to cause trouble here. Kenshin certainly had no qualms with having to fight on his birthday if it came down to it. But hopefully it would not have to go that far. Still, the day was far from being over. Anything could happen. @tagged | Word count: 373

i fall asleep Her mother grabbed her by the wrist as she almost dashed off to find what the source of the music was where they were in the neighborhood of the bench where Kenshin set down. She looked up at her mother with pleading eyes asking if she could please hang around and listen to the music instead of going to the meeting that had nothing to do with her. Even though she understood that her mother was trying to get some things arranged, it seemed that the two of them already considered that Honey around could only hurt the interview more than having her not around and meeting the interviewer for a second round, she wasn't sure what she was doing and it was only an hour that she could have this free time, she would rather listen to this music. Finally her mother let her go and she went to find around the park where the music came from.
Finding the boy that looked around her age (albeit she looked much younger so it wasn't quite obvious from the other side) playing a bass, that was cool, she herself still wanted to learn how to play but she mostly sang so that was the only thing she was decent in, her singing classes were going well as well but she was mostly an actress in her own opinion so her singing skills really needed to be improved. Unfortunately for her the song was almost over when she finally arrived at the bench, she had tried not to run and pull attention to her or fall you never know. "That sounded great!" She said to the boy and she smiled happily, "I don't know the song but it is really nice, did you write it yourself?" You never knew what kind of talented people were around here, so she simply asked not thinking too much about it. She remained standing, not sure if this person was okay with her sitting next to him on the bench at all or if she should walk on because some people just played to get money and did not want to talk and so on, she would see when the time came, she wasn't sure what more to do but simply looked at the bass. Every time Kenshin played on his bass, he became absorbed in his music. It was so easy to become immersed. Because of that, he did not immediately notice Honey, even while playing the very last notes of the song, until she spoke to him. "Oh, hi." Kenshin noticed how the girl had features of a squirrel, like the round ears and the tail. Of course, with no way of knowing anything about her and the way her quirk worked, the boy just assumed that Honey was a little girl, rather than being the same age as him. He smiled upon hearing the rest of the squirrel girl's words. "Thank you! Nah, I didn't write this one. It's a very old song from a very old band. I just play it to honor those who did write it. I really like their music. I can and often do write my own songs, but I have a long way to go before I can be considered THAT great. Who knows, maybe someday there could be people performing my songs. But first I have to make one worth playing." The boy chuckled a bit. It would be an honor if that ever did happen. Who knows? Maybe it might one day with enough hard work. Kenshin then began thinking of what to play next. As tempting as it was to just play the happy birthday song, Kenshin was not that vain to want to play for himself. Sure he could, but the boy preferred playing for others. Hell, if Honey or anyone else listening had any song requests, Kenshin would be more than happy to play for them, provided that he was familiar with how to play that song. But in the meantime, Kenshin thought of what song to play next. "Here's another tune that's old but gold. And if you know the lyrics, feel free to sing along if you want to." As Kenshin began to play, he took a quick glance around the park, making sure that everything was still peaceful before becoming immersed in the music once again. | Word count: 348

i fall asleep Oh it was an old song, she never really listened to the old songs that her grandfather in America had played and the ones her grandfather used here in Japan were not her taste so she sat still and simply watched and listened to Kenshin play, she was rather intrigued and it was simply that she would be able to sit here that made it easier too. She had nothing to complain about or say so she would just watch and nod along as she did not know the lyrics she could not sing along but she was also not sure if her mother would allow that. She was still practicing singing so it wasn't really that interesting to see if it would do any good to do it now.
When Kenshin was done with the song she clapped, "I didn't know it but it was great. My name is Honey by the way, so nice to meet you, do you come here more often to play music?" Because even if Tokyo Park was her favourite park to be, it was big enough to meet someone knew every day in the year and get lost and tangled and so on and it was just a lot of things. She simply moved a little back and forth as the squirrel could not sit still very well and she swayed a little with her tail and smiled, she wanted to know more, especially if the plans her mother had for her were working out well. That did mean that she would have that training again tonight and she did not want to go but it was nice, she appreciated her free minutes a lot more now, that was for sure. She wondered what more she could talk about with this guy, "Oh, are you in a band!" Her eyes shiny now that she considered something, maybe she could watch a performance one day! It always made Kenshin happy whenever anyone liked to listen to whatever song he played. It made playing all the more fun. So he was naturally happy upon hearing the squirrel girl clap and compliment his performance once he was finished. "Thank you." She then introduced herself, so the boy would naturally do the same. "Nice to meet you, Honey." That sentence sure sounded weird for him to say aloud when taken out of context. "I'm Kenshin."Upon hearing Honey ask if he came here to play often, he nodded. "Yeah, whenever I have the free time." It was a shame that school, sword practice, and vigilantism meant that he could not play as often as he wanted to. Not that he regretted fighting crime or honing his swordsmanship, but he really did love to play bass, and he wished that he could equally dedicate his time to all three. The boy smiled upon hearing her next question. "Well technically, not yet. But I have met up with some good people, and we're planning on making a band. It's kinda been a dream of mine to make one. Well one of my dreams, anyway." He could not wait for that to take off. It made little difference to the boy whether the band would be successful or not. He just wanted to make awesome music, put smiles on people's faces, and have a hell of a good time. "What about you? You have a dream? Something you want to one day make into a reality?" He was curious to see what answer Honey had. It was always interesting to see just what others dreamed of, to see what it was they wanted, and how hard they were willing to work to make it happen. Sadly, not everything in life went according to plan. But still, that would not be enough to deter certain people from trying anyway. Kenshin was of course one of those people. | Word count: 325

i fall asleep She was smiling happily when it seemed that she did not annoy anyone or be in the way and so on, that can happen a lot of time and mostly she would miss it but she would not think about it too much right now, her mother was in the neighborhood so that was a thing. She would be fine, nicely and polite and just enjoy the music. She smiled happily when he said it was nice to meet her, she had no idea that he found the sentence weird, "It's nice to meet you too Kenshin." She thus answered happily after he introduced himself.
She asked him if he came here more often to play because that would be fun, she came to the park a lot but she might have avoided this place particularly as she mostly came to the green parts and not the busy parts though it seemed that surprisingly little amount of people bothered them or felt bothered about what was going around here, that was a good thing. Maybe she could come here more often.
"That sounds fun." She replied to the statement of staring a band. "I wish I could do something like that. I love singing but mainly focused on so many other things." So she should not worry too much about that at the moment. She should shut her mouth and not tell everything about things that she should not tell about, such as why she was singing and focusing non dancing, it was not always the easiest thing with a big mouth such as Honey's but she was trying. She was just a little enthusiastic when it came to a lot of things. But the question that Kenshin asked her made it very difficult to answer if she would be able to shut her mouth, "Oh one day I hope to be on a new tv show, for other you know people that little kids and not on seven in the morning." She smiled a little silly, "Though its good only the small kids recognize me, although mostly they think its a costume so that works out fine." Her tail swayed left and right showing her excitement. She should have not said anything, it sound rather cryptic anyway but the fact was that she would be okay with another program, being taken serious, although the movie was certainly going to help with that but for now it was just a start. Kenshin listened as Honey told him how she wishes she could do something like that, how she loves to sing but focuses on many other things. He was curious by what Honey meant by other things, but decided not to ask about it. Kenshin wondered how well she could sing. Probably better than he could. Not that he was bad by any means, but Kenshin definitely preferred playing bass over singing. Any singing he did do would be more of a supporting role, providing backing vocals to a lead singer. It was fun to sing sometimes, but it was not something Kenshin really liked to do often. After asking Honey about what her dream was, Kenshin was impressed upon hearing her answer. Wanting to be on a TV show. Wait a minute. She said new TV show. Which meant... "You're an actress? Nice!" At such a young age, too! Well unless she was one of those people whose quirks made them look younger than they actually are. Though the boy himself was now fifteen, there were others who for some reason thought he was like ten or eleven. Though in his case, it was less because of his quirk and more because of unlucky genetics or whatever. Regardless of how old Honey actually was, being an actress sounded pretty interesting. "What's it like to act? If you don't mind me asking?"It was good to have dreams at such a young age. Of course, it was a challenge to keep chasing that dream without things getting in the way. Not everything in life went as planned, after all. Still, it was good to chase dreams no matter how many obstacles got in the way. It only made it that much more satisfying when they came true. "Well I hope we both can accomplish our dreams. Don't ever give up, alright?" It saddened Kenshin that his parents had to give up their dreams of being heroes just so they could be there to raise him and Sai. But that was why Kenshin was determined to pick up where they left off. | Word count: 350

She had said maybe a little too much, but she seriously hoped he did not mind or would spill the beans, like there were probably not that many Honey's when it came to the acting industry and especially not with a tail and ears like her... interesting how quickly she could speak her mouth and identity away, she had managed to tell Lucas the right thing but Lucas had recognized her and she had managed to keep it hidden for Jisa-Jisa and Hye-nee and and... she almost sighed but did not want to ruin the mood, Kenshin seemed simply to be impressed and wanted to know more and heck, why not. She did not even check if someone was in the neighborhood or closely around them to eavesdrop and she simply tilted her head a little and looked up at the sky trying to find the right words. "Hm, to me it's great! I can play all sorts of different roles and do things I would never be able to do. I play the main character Glinda in the Animal Rescue Team tv show in the morning, it's for little kids of course but I am playing a hero, something I would never be able to do myself, so it's a lot of fun, without ehm bad consequences so to say? I will soon play a Princess in a new movie, her name is really difficult but it's very fun to be dressed up like that and learning new things for the role and how to speak what they want you to do but!" And she moved up one little finger, "It's hard work too, I am luckily young and people don't really recognize me but yea, when I have a day off I mostly have to learn lines." Ehehe, she should do that more today but that could wait, she could hang out and have fun from time to time. She would not learn if she had to sit still for most of the day anyway.
"That's a promise!" Honey said enthusiastic when Kenshin said they should not give up on their dream. "Yes! I will come to all your concerts!" She smiled and shortly clapped because of her enthusiasm, she grinned, "So, why are you at the park alone than? Would not someone jump in to join you with singing or playing another instrument?"
