It didn't take long for Jaeger's plans to finally be completed, a grin on his face as he paced back and forth waiting for his student to arrive. She had been notified in advance, so he knew he wouldn't need to wait long. In fact they would depart in the evening of the same day internships would start. However, curiously enough his ever loyal companion, the chicken called Captain seemed absent. Nonetheless, upon her arrival Miyu would be greet with a cheerful wave of his hand while he spoke. "Yo~ Hope you're ready for an adventure, I'll explain the details on the way."Curiously enough as they were to leave the campus ground, giving Miyu the opportunity to speak or ask any questions, her teacher would start his explanation. "You'll likely notice that you're the only student around, don't worry the others will come in late." He chuckled as if he knew something before continuing. "We got a short trip to make on foot first, ya see, we won't be staying in Musutafu. Your internship will take place in a very, very special place. Which brings me to the reason why you are the only student I'm taking there directly. Why you? A solid and understandable question that you likely have~"He raised his hand to his chin and hummed softly. "I like unpredictable and interesting things, or people~ Others might consider your quirk a bit simple, but I see a girl with a lot of potential behind that simplicity that others see, and I hope with this internship we'll be drawing out that potential."He laughed heartily as they seemed to reach the outskirts of Musutafu, and at a large field, which in fact appeared to be some form of secret hangar a most peculiar sight awaited her: The Jaeger-plane "Your chariot awaits~ And before you think of asking: no you're not piloting it, you'll be in the passenger seats meeting the crew that will be supporting you... But before we get inside... Entertain me with an answer to the following question: What do you consider the most important aspect of a 'hero'?"

Every muscle of Miyu’s hummed with a subtle ache as she made her way down to the meeting point she’d been told of. She’d been training the entire day, getting ready for her internship. She still had no idea who else Jaeger had selected, or really who Jaeger even was, beyond a weirdo with very strange chickens. But, he was a pro, and there was no way she was going to disappoint on her first day.
Luckily, she’d given herself enough of a break that she was only slightly tired, and was able to match the energy of her new mentor’s wave with her own. She did note that there weren’t any chickens about, but considering the one that had brought her invite, that seemed more a good thing.
“You bet I am!” Despite her worry about what Jaeger had planned, Miyu was genuinely excited.
Her head darted left then right as she looked for her fellow students, before Jaeger explained their absence. Bizarre, and apparently not how the other internships had operated, but from their brief interactions so far Miyu could already tell her teacher wasn’t one to do things by the book.
“Wait, w-we aren’t staying in Musutafu? Wh-where are we going? Should I have packed a suitcase or something?” She had so many questions, but only so much time to ask. But some of those questions were really important! She hadn’t brought so much as a change of clothes, all she had was her hero costume that she was already wearing.
While Jaeger’s compliments didn’t exactly soothe her worries about the clothing situation, they did make her a little more comfortable. There’d been a thought in the back of her mind that he’d only picked her because she was the last up, like an unpopular kid in PE, since her offer had come in far later than anyone else’s, but he certainly seemed genuine in his interest in her Quirk now.
“I’ll do my best!” She pumped her fist into the air as they walked, then grimaced slightly as another pulse of aching shot through her arm. “I, uh, did spend some time in the training rooms before I set off, though…”
Finally, they reached what seemed to be their destination, and… There was a plane.
A plane?
A PLANE?
How far were they going?
“H-wh-huh?” She sputtered. Jaeger’s question only registered a few moments later, and she took a deep breathe to compose herself before answering.
“Eh, well… A Hero shouldn’t just fight bad guys, but should make sure they’re protecting the weak; the people who can’t protect themselves, right? Because if you put all your focus into fighting a villain, you might end up letting someone else get hurt.” Her mind went back to an old episode of Omegaman Möbius, where Möbius had fought without consideration for the city around him, and she balled her hands into fists. She wasn’t going to be like that. Not at all!

Jaeger laughed in amusement when Miyu inquired hesitatingly about whether they wouldn't be staying in Musutafu. "Nah, we'll be going on a trip to a more suitable location~" The man grinned for a moment as she inquired further about a suitcase. "Who do you take me for, the principal? Nah, as part of your internship I got you a special training suit made Miyu, one which is going to prove to be very useful for what to come. Also spare ones, so all you got to worry about is... uuuh yeah, kinda forgot about the fact women aren't just satisfied with changing shorts..." And with an awkward scratch of the back of his metalic head he hummed softly. "Guess you'll just have to go shopping with the rest of the crew once we arrive on the island~ Don't worry, this time there will be more than the Jaeger chicken division."
Once they arrived at the airplane the man listened carefully to Miyu's answer and laughed heartily. "So that is your answer huh?" He paused for a moment, his laughter ending in a smile while he raised a hand and attempted to ruffle her hair lightly. "Truth to be told: there is no truly right answer to that question, everyone has their own definiton of what a hero should be, how they want to uphold that 'role' of a hero. That answer of yours? It's your own brand of heroism, keep it close to your heart so that one day it becomes a source of strength for you to uphold. A hero should never forget those feelings that set them on this path, that 'origin' of theirs."
As he turned toward the airplane he stepped along the stairs leading into the vehicle. "Ah right, we're going... to Hawaii."
The man flashed her a thumbs-up as he entered inside the airplane, and once Miyu followed them she would find that Jaeger was not kidding earlier, disregarding several chickens amidst the seats, there were also humans, judging from their outfits perhaps some sort of military personnel.
The first one to notice the duo was a teenager around Miyu's age who gave the man a playful salute. "Welcome back chief, and this must be Miyu-san? Hey guys! she's finally here!"
The man's exclamation stirred the airplane's passengers, the first one to approach the girl being a tall muscular man who tried to grab her hand and shake it lightly in a overly friendly motion. "Name is Jacob, I'll be in charge of the heavy lifting of supplies. If you ever get tired during the training, Ya can hop on the carriage I'll be pulling."
However, a feminine voice called out to the pair. "No she won't Jacob, that girl was chosen by the chief, you know that means she has the potential to surpass even him, if she was to give up during a camp like this, she'd be unworthy of his interest. Besiddes, look at her, those eyes show that look of someone eager to prove herself. Welcome aboard, I'm Francesca, the medic on the team."
Jaeger leaned over next to Miyu and whispered softly. "Don't mind their eccentric nature, they might be weird but they are all good people, used to belong to the same squad I was in." Was this a case of the pot calling the kettle black?

"A-A special training suit? So I won't be using my hero costume?" She stammered, confusion mounting by the minute. "I-I do have m-my wallet and stuff in my bag so I guess I can just buy s-stuff but… Wait, the island? Chicken division?!" --- She didn't know how she felt about Jaeger ruffling her hair. It did feel a little condescending - okay, maybe a lot condescending, - but it was nice that he wasn't mocking her answer. So many of her peers had gone through so much, or thought so long and hard about why they want to be heroes, that she was worried Jaeger would scoff at her. That nice glowy feeling, from his praise, disappeared after the very next words he said. "HA-HA-HAWAII?!" She exclaimed. Miyu's eyes were the size of plates, her eyebrows threatening to leave her face entirely and colonize Mars. Was that legal? Could he do that? Had he cleared this with the school? She got the feeling she didn't really have a say in the matter though, so despite all her misgivings she clambered into the plane, taking one last look at Japanese soil as she did. With Jaeger, there was a very real chance this really would be her last view of it, she thought. All too soon, she was overwhelmed again, as what appeared to be military personnel all but swarmed her the moment she stepped foot inside. The man who introduced himself as Jacob pulled her into a hand-crushingly strong handshake. "Oh, h-hi Jacob, I'm Miyu Sasaki, but, I, I guess you already know who I am-" Francesca interrupted her awkward greeting to shut down Jacob's offer, and though she didn't let it show on the outside this scared Miyu an awful bit. How hard was Jaeger gonna expect her to work, that he wouldn't let Jacob carry her some of the way? She just gave a little wave and grin to Fran, trying to push all worries to the very back of her mind. "N-no, they seem nice!" She said back to Jaeger, before she finally took a seat, next to the teen who hadn't given his name. "So, uh. Who are you?" She asked. If she was gonna spend a month with these guys in a country halfway across the world, she might as well know all their names.

As they arrived on the airplane it seemed like Miyu had quite a lot to process. Going through the initial greetings, it was clear the poor girl was surprised by the revelation that they were going to Hawaii, but whether Jaeger was oblivious to the sheer absurdness for this training session, or was playing ignorant remained yet to be seen. After the initial greetings were given Miyu's attempt to address the teenager earned a brief smile from him. "Hayate Tsukino, you can just call me Hayate if you want, the others tend to struggle with remembering the whole proper way we address people in Japanese."
He chuckled softly as he gestured at the Captain who was making her way into the pilot chamber of the plane. "I'm the engineer of the team, well part engineer, part scientist~ Most of Jaeger's chickens were the end result of our combined research. Only reason they don't call me Doc is cause Fran would get out of business then." A sudden hand ruffled the teenager's head rather roughly, as Francesa shook his head rather wildly. "I can hear ya kiddo! Experimenting on the Captain is one thing, but keep your hands off my patients."
Cuck!
A sudden noise came from inside the pilot seat, and Jaeger turned sideways in the pilot seat to declare excitedly. "Fasten your seatbelts crew, We're taking off!
And indeed, just as anticipated, poor Miyu would soon be able to see the Japanese soil depart from under the airplane, moments later leaving Musutafu and all she had known for her entire life behind. The flight fortunately would prove to be eventful in its own way, as Jacob, Francesca and Hayate took their turns to explain bits of the upcoming internship.
"Actually, truth to be told it's less of an internship and more of a training camp, those camps of the chief are a bit... special ya see? Aside from getting you used to harsh environments, they are filled with the type of challenges that make you think really hard, like figure out what you're good at, what you're bad at, and improvise on how to overcome those challenges in a way that fit you as a person."
Footsteps resounded from nearby as Jaeger entered the passenger's section. "Truth to be told, I kinda took a spin upon one of the other sensei's their way of teaching. Ya might know him as Spymaster? Troublesome cool-looking ninja guy? Well, seems he has taken interest in a equally pesky lass and been training her in something that looks like straight from one of those shonen manga!"
He laughed softly, balling up a fist and slamming it lightly against the open palm of his other. "And so I decided to take on the challenge of showing him up by training a student myself, although I got my reasons for selecting you of all people Miyu."
He slipped on the seat beside her and mused playfully. "I'd say it is because I like it when the odds are stacked against me. Note, I never play a bet I know I have no chance of winning, and I see in you the makings of the best bet I'd ever took: to make one of the greatest heroes of the next generation."
Wait, who was... piloting this airplane?
"Miyu, about that seatbelt? You might want to get it loose, trust me~"
He grinned from ear to ear while the rest of the crew was visibly facepalming.
"Not again..." they mumbled in unison.
