Even if she was a foreigner in this world of martial arts, only findding herself involved in it because of her relationship with Tetsuko, there was something about stories that always fascinated Elise. Perhaps it was because of the intimidating presence of her lover's grandfather, but Elise had always been cautious about the existence of Shura. Elise knew well enough how powerful of a weapon emotions could be, especially when brought forth in their most extreme forms, so the concept of allowing one's rage to guide their blade was a troubling concept for Elise.
Perhaps it was meant to be, that just like the concept of Ying and Yang, that when this essence of Shura was stirred within Tetsuko that Elise's presence kindled something else. It was endearing in a way, to see how Tetsuko's rage subsided somewhat when she called out to her. It made the girl certain of one thing: as long as she was in Tetsuko's life, the essence of Shura would surely not consume her iron-blooded knight. Indeed, if Shura was the demon within Tetsuko, then she was the guardian angel that would help her lover find the balance she needed, as often as she required it. Still, there was no denying that Shizune was skilled, being able to rill up a trained warrior like Tetsuko and cleverly escape from her wrathful blows, it didn't require only intelligence but also reflexes, agility and speed that far surpassed the average martial artist.
But the tide would turn, with Tetsuko reminded of the fact there was no need for them to concern themselves with the opinions of others when they had each other, that they powerful feelings for each other were more than enough of a testimony for how much they meant for one another.
Tetsuko's breathing started to relax, her tension still higher than usual till the swordswoman explained herself. "Mhmm~ That rage you felt are the kindling embers of Shura's essence within you. Fortunately, it seems that even Shura's fury is no match when it comes to the warmth your bond with Elise brings. Too often have I heard stories of those similar to Shura losing themselves to their bloodlust, they become wrathful demons that lose sight of their own self, and in some cases they even succumb to a rage so intense that they would turn onto their own allies."
Shizune smiled briefly when Tetsuko expressed her gratitude, and soon the duo was engaged into their fight once more. Elise meanwhile continued to watch with baited breath at the ongoing fight. Tetsuko's sudden crescent overhead was a perfect parry, the blades clashing onto one another, locked in a struggle when finally Tetsuko overpowered her, the swing slamming Shizune downwards toward the ground when all of a sudden...
"Limit Break: Ichi"
A sudden burst of heat escaped from Shizune's body, her eye giving an eerie red glow while the moment she collided against the ground her feet seemed to angle at an almost unnatural state, her body shifting forwards with the same flexibility of a beast rather than a human, so nimble did the collision at the ground and conversion in a forwards dash become, the sword swing made by Tetsuko was still between her and her target, and Shizune didn't intend to go through this the easy way! The only way she would consider it a victory is by breaking the blade of Shura!
"Heh~ That's what I wanted to see~ Now that I'm fighting Shura's successor I can at last use my Quirk~" The blade pushed violently against Tetsuko's own with an inhuman strength, as if she was clashing against a bear or a giant oni on terms of physical strength. "It be only fair for you to learn about my quirk since I know quite a bit about yours~ My Quirk is called Limit Break, it allows me to release the restrains of the human body to tap into the dormant potential within. Simply said, with my quirk I can surpass the limitations of the human body~ Although I am only permitted to go up to the Seventh release, anything higher would become too dangerous for both of us~"
And then Shizune acted, her lips curving into a smirk. "Limit Break: Ni!" An even more intense burst of heat came from her body, the pressure on Tetsuko's blade growing unlike any attack she had endured before in a clash!

The Weight of my pride do i really need that? Some might think that the essence of Shura was antithetical to the teachings of Jikishinkag-ryu. Yet, the 'Unbound Demon' and 'Immovable Heart' were, in all actuality, two times of the same coin... Which was why Tetsuko was so wary, yet intrigued by how Shizune sought to bring out and help cultivate Tetsuko's own control over such emotions in the heat of combat. Though she did not reply, it made sense, what Shizune spoke of. It made too much sense, in fact. After all, Tetsuko knew well, the stories of how her own Grandfather had succumbed to his wrath, his hate, following the passing of his own beloved. "I should have figured... The Fox's Successor would know so much about it." The Shindou girl said in a muted tone, a deep burning still within her, yet now controlled by her broadened understanding of the situation. After all, they said that the Fox's grand clash against Ryouichi Shindou had been at the latter's height, the point at which he had most readily succumbed to his own fury, where he'd earned the title of the 'Shura of Ibaraki'. Holding on to the spark within her, Tetsuko resolved to make the most of this lesson, letting not the wisdom that underpinned her style guide her, but instead the beastly instinct of Shura. For it was not necessarily wrath, nor even hate, that defined the essence of Shura. It was, in its simplest form, pure and unbound violence, with no purpose or cause. An overwhelming fighting response to the environment around oneself, it just so happened that the emotions most likely to prompt such inhumanity were those more negative feelings... Controlling that violence was the key to making the most of the other side of the coin; and self-control was key to Jikishinkage-ryu. With proper control... It could be the perfect basis for a supplementary offense! Tetsuko was realizing that more than ever as she managed to clash against Shizune's attack, grinning greedily as she slammed the other girl towards the ground, only for a sudden burst of unnatural heat to rise forth, as Shizune landed quite readily, displaying her own beastly abilities as she managed to put herself in a safe clash against Tetsuko! Nay, not just safe, things were pushing in Shizune's favor! The immense strength against her was explained by Shizune's incredible Quirk, allowing her to surpass her own limits... So it followed, that to win this clash, Tetsuko would need to surpass her own! The heat suddenly rose, and the strength bearing down against Tetsuko become incredible, she couldn't sustain this clash for long! Gritting her teeth down, she grasped her blade tightly, beginning to buckle under the pressure. Yet, as the heat rose, and her vision grew hazy, her thoughts began to dim... Under all this pressure, all this burning, the fire within was ready to burst outward. Tetsuko breathed in and out, as an expression of fury glanced forth to Shizune. In a sudden movement, Tetsuko would disengage from their clash, letting one hand slip off her blade as she dashed forward and to the side, likely letting Shizune's blade cut her own arm! But it was an injury she'd take, if only for a chance to take her opponent down properly. Raising her other hand in the air, iron flowed out, forming a blade unlike that she normally used. A great mass of iron took shape around her fist, as what looked to be a hefty, oversized axe blade formed in her hand! Something far too big for Tetsuko to wield, even if this was a technique she'd used before, this was certainly its next level! "SEKI SAKERU!" (Gate Cleaving!) With a mighty, uncontrolled swing, Tetsuko would cleave the axe blade in her hand down towards Shizune with meteoric force. The sheer mass of the thing meant it was controlling Tetsuko more than she was controlling it. Of course, that being said, it perhaps would've been easy to dodge, given the sluggish move... However, as the axe head slammed into the ground, hopefully staggering Shizune, she'd see Tetsuko had more up her sleeve. The force of the swing was so great, that by jumping off her fight, Tetsuko was swung up and forward by it, and she'd quickly follow up axe swing by letting go of the head, and swinging with a vicious midair overhead crescent at Shizune! Master Gai was grinning wider than ever now, evidently more than a little fascinated in the proceedings. "One of Ryouichi's techniques... Her own variation, though... Perhaps she's got more Shura in her then we thought~" He chuckled lightly to himself, a curiosity and intrigue in his eyes that was entirely like him. However, how Elise would take this odd sign of Tetsuko's abilities, would be its own story...

For Elise the proceedings were leaving a mixed feeling in the pink-haired lass her heart. The sight of how Tetsuko was steadily slipping further into the grasp of Shura was a troubling sensation, like her lover was slowly traversing a path that she couldn't reach, as if every moment Tetsuko was learning more about the essence of Shura, the more it felt like her lover was slowly slipping out of her embrace. It was a worrying feeling, and a part of her felt it was even unpleasant. And yet she didn't say anything, nor could she say anything, after all this was the path that Tetsuko had chosen to traverse, and it would be a slight to her relationship if she didn't trust Tetsuko enough to be certain her iron-blooded knight wouldn't succumb to that infamous bloodlust of Shura.
It was evident that upon the second limit release of Shizune, that in terms of raw power she was starting to overwhelm Tetsuko, but that was not enough to dimish the raging flame of Shura within her, no instead Tetsuko had chosen some ingenuine tactic. The sight of how Tetsuko released her blade and moved sideways had confused Shizune, yet perhaps out of respect for her opponent the girl didn't stall her blade, the bladed edge sinking lightly into Tetsuko's upper-arm, only narrowly preventing it from cutting deeper and possibly dismembering her arm due to the agile maneuver of the girl. While Shizune gasped softly in surprise, Elise felt tears of sorrow and concern gathering in her eyes at seeing her lover injured once more, and even then she remained quiet, her hands trembling lightly while her heart screamed to tell them to stop fighting.
And still she remained quiet, out of respect and love for her knight. When Tetsuko's hand wrapped around in the large oversized axe blade, it took Shizune a moment to realize what the girl was planning, a dangerous attack to be sure! "Limit break: San!" Rapidly calling forth the third release of her bodily restrains, the moment the axe blade swung the axe downwards toward her, the blade didn't only cut into the fabric covering her torso, but it even seemed to dig into her flesh underneath it, although peculiarly enough it seemed to not cut deeper, as if the girl's body was a suit of iron underneath its flesh!
Shizune grinned knowingly, pulling back her sword and readying another thrust, but it seemed Tetsuko had yet another tactic up her sleeve, for the moment the girl thrusted forwards the swing of her axe-blade had made Tetsuko get up in the air, ready to make a violent overhead crescent down at her opponent! A slash that connected cleanly with Shizune's shoulderblade, who grunted in pain as the blade sliced deeper this time, but in return her own blad swept upwards and would have likely cut Tetsuko's chest also.
However, in that moment before anyone could continue a familiar voice called out to them.
"Hold your blades." It was grandmaster Hayate himself, having taken a break from the proceedings with the other masters to look upon the duel, and as he stepped beside Elise he raised a hand lightly. "As great as it is for you to start tapping into the essence of Shura Tetsuko-kun, do not forget that you are not your grandfather. Just like Shura is a demon to possess you in exchange for great power, there is also a little guardian angel watching over you."
He raised a hand, patting Elise's head lightly who was looking like she was on the verge of breaking out in tears. "And right now, seeing you getting hurt like this is clearly making her sad. So take a break and let her tend to your wounds."
The man smiled briefly at Tetsuko and turned back toward Shizune. "And you, get your clothes fixed and report with the other masters, we got work to deal with." And with those words he turned toward Gai. "Make sure your guest doesn't look like she is on the verge of tears next time, it's quite problematic if the guest of the Shindou looks like that, ya know?"

The Weight of my pride do i really need that?
Pain flared up violently through Tetsuko's arm as Shizune's blade drew her blood, but that did little to dissuade her charge. A beast did not shy from the first cut it received, so neither did she. What was once an immovable object with her stalwart defense, now became an unstoppable force with her vicious offense. As she brought down a mountain-crushing ax blade onto the other girl, a strange satisfaction was starting to sink in. Even if it had all been a ruse, Shizune's insults had still earned some deal of animosity from Tetsuko, who was now drawing upon that spite in a dangerous way.
Her ax sunk into Shizune's skin, but it didn't dig deep. It seemed like the girl had quite the fortitude, meaning Tetsuko would have to be even more ferocious if she wanted to deal damage to the other swordswoman. To that end, she followed through with her crescent slash, trading blows again with Shizune and receiving a light cut across her chest. Even then, Tetsuko was ready to keep fighting, to put Shizune in her place for what she'd said! There was no way in hell she was going to get away with it!
That was, until a certain master intervened.
The Shindou girl stayed her blade, looking towards Hayate as he'd arrived. In doing so, she also ended up looking towards Elise, seeing the tears in her eyes... Shit, she'd done and gone it again, hadn't she? She'd gotten herself hurt, once more...
Her sense returned, and Tetsuko absorbed the iron back into her body, realizing the blood that was staining her thanks to her recklessness. "Elly..." Tetsuko uttered quietly, hanging her head lightly in shame. The Shura had almost taken her over, had almost gotten her hurt even worse, had almost made Elise's tears fall against the blooming flowers of Itako.
Master Gai didn't seem too phased, however. He bowed his head lightly towards Hayate in apology, though he didn't seem extremely remorseful. "Of course. It was my own folly to let it continue this far." Elise, having been beside Gai, would know full well he'd been quite content to watch it transpire. Nonetheless, it seemed the fight was over, none dared to challenge Master Hayate's ruling.
"I'll be seeing you, Shizune-san..." Tetsuko uttered cautiously, coming down for adrenaline high as she slowly walked towards Elise's side, still looking somewhat regretful about the whole ordeal. The Shindou girl glanced to Elise in the eyes as she neared, reaching a hand lightly against the other girl's. "I'm sorry, Elly, I... I didn't mean to..." Tetsuko struggled to say, realizing that in the end, she was the one who'd given into the Shura...
"It's a remarkable power, isn't it?" Master Gai interjected. "Even though some might call it the antithesis to the immovable heart, the two are strengthened by one another. Like two sides of the same coin." He said with a small smile towards the girls.
"Rather unreasonable, isn't it?"
He chuckled lightly, before looking back to Hayate and Shizune as they left. "I should be going as well, get her patched up properly, Eli-tan~" He hummed before being off, leaving the two girls among the irises likely confused and concerned with everything that had happened, left to tend to Tetsuko's bleeding wounds that stand the vibrant fields red, and made the Shura's deadly influence quite palpable.
"I-Is there anywhere we should go to patch it up or...?" Tetsuko asked a bit awkwardly, evidently still a bit shaken by the high she'd experienced. To think, this was only a small part of what her Grandfather had harnessed... He truly was a remarkable, or frightening, individual...

Feeling Tetsuko's hand gently brush against her own made Elise almost instinctively wrap her fingers around it, the light tremble of her hand making it clear just how worried she had been about her lover. Elise might had been a great surgeon, but she was no magician and the thought that her beloved knight might suffer an injury she couldn't heal was truly terrifying. Tetsuko's struggling apologize made Elise nod her head feebly while she listened to the other masters as they prepared to leave, but before his departure, Hayate gestured at a nearby cottage. "You can tend to her injuries there." And with those words the master left alongside the others.
When Tetsuko spoke Elise gently pulled her along toward the cottage, not yet saying a word till they were inside when finally Elise sighed deeply. "Baka..." She turned toward Tetsuko, shaking her head lightly as she continued speaking. "Although I prepared myself for this, knowing that my girlfriend is a part of this world of swords and martial arts, it still hurts me to see you getting hurt so much." Pulling out the small pouch she carried with her, upon opening it the girl revealed a small but quite portable first-aid kit as she spoke softly. "It terrifies me sometimes..." She gently reached with her hands for Tetsuko's shirt, attempting to help her remove it, carefully so not to aggitate her injuries even further, and once it was removed she started to apply what appeared some sort of salve over the cut on her lover's arm, the bit of slime she shed over it quickly seeming to help with closing the injury so that it wouldn't bleed any longer. "I might be a surgeon, but I'm no magician, and it scares me to think you might someday suffer an injury I can't save you from."
Once she had properly bandaged the area of Tetsuko's arm that had been cut, she proceeded over to her shoulder, repeating the process. "I don't want to lose you Tetsu, not you, never... That's why I will become the greatest doctor there is, but you have to make certain not to let Shura consume you entirely, always remember: you're not fighting out of hatred or anger or rage. That's not you~ You're fighting for someone, to protect someone, in the end you were fighting earlier for my sake, so how could I possibly be upset at you?"
She smiled weakly as she looked at the rather deep gash that had run across Tetsuko's torso, right underneath those pillows she adored so much. "Perhaps that is why I'm worried about this Shura stuff... It makes me worry that you might end up forgetting that you're a protector, a guardian, not just a raging demon." She whispered gently as she continued to apply the salve and ensured the wound would slowly close, and once she was certain her lover's injuries were tended to, a glint of mischief emerged in your eyes. "But you still need to be punished for being so reckless~"
Boing boing squeeze!
Tetsuko would no doubt feel the familiar pair of soft hands squeezing onto her bra-covered breasts, giving them a teasing and playful squeeze while she leaned closer, attempting to gently kiss Tetsuko's lips. "Never forget that you have someone to return to~ I always be there for you, so please... please make certain that you return home after every battle, return back to me so I can feel reassured by having you in my embrace."

The Weight of my pride do i really need that? Tetsuko always hated how she did this to Elise. Making her worry so much for the swordswoman. It was, in part, an unfortunate result of the distance between the two worlds they each came from. While a warrior's path often required the acceptance of inevitable harm and injury, Tetsuko didn't dare ask Elise to simply understand something like that. Leading to moments like these, where Tetsu lost sight of herself, and lost sight of the fact that she had made something of a promise. That she wouldn't walk completely along the warrior's path, not while she still held Elise's hand in hers.
Being left to themselves, so that Tetsuko's wounds could be tended to, the Shindou girl remained conflicted over the spar's outcome. Hearing Elise scold her, she couldn't blame the Germanic lass, nodding lightly as Elise talked about how scary this world of martial arts could be. "I know it does... It's a scary world, and I'm sorry for making you see so much of that side of it..." The ironblooded girl lamented, seating herself and removing her shirt so that Elise could tend to the wounds. She winced slightly as the salve was applied, but didn't react much otherwise. This was something Tetsuko was somewhat used to, after all.
The mention of an injury that Elise couldn't save her from left Tetsuko quiet, stung by how true those words were. Tetsuko had, after all, seen firsthand what an injury like that could do to someone and the people around them.
As the bandages were applied, Elise continued speaking on, about the dangers of Shura, of what amounted to the pure essence of bestial warrior spirit and violent emotion that she'd attempted to channel. "You're right, but even so, I shouldn't have lost myself in it like that..." The Shindou girl would utter, though took in the meaning of Elise's words. She was right. As powerful a tool as Shura was, it was important that Tetsuko never forget that she fought for far more than violence for its own sake.
As the wound on her chest was tended to, Elise obviously couldn't help being her usual self, with a little squeeze. "You don't really know how to keep up a mood, do you?" Tetsuko uttered with a half-hearted chuckle, as she pecked Elise on the lips. She smiled lightly and the Germanic girl's words, before leaning in and embracing Elise in a light embrace. A slightly painful one, given her condition, but a tender one.
"I'll always return. I promise." Tetsuko said seriously as she held Elise. "I've always been by your side, so I'll always come back to it. Even if I... Lose my way, I'll find it again as long as you're here. That's... What I think..." It felt slightly bittersweet, those words. For as honest as they were, Tetsuko knew how dangerous her life was. She knew how hard it would be to keep that promise.
She would try her damnedest nonetheless.
Everything bloomed in Itako. To that, there was no exception.
