all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She just needed to be outside, the walls were closing in. Everything was closing in on her, the whiteness, the kind smiles and the "Oh darling how do you feel." She wasn't there darling! She was god-dammit...she was... she was so tired and hurt, the bruises on her hips and stomach still were not gone and putting one foot in front of the other was like ripping her body apart but she did not care. She wanted to be outside so the nurses would not see her cry. Her little baby having so many issues, she should have been more careful, she should have shut her big mouth, she should quit, she should become a fulltime mother, that is if he survived. God she needed G but he wasn't here as she had send him out to get her new clothing. Her normally shiny long hair was now tied up in a messy knot on top of her head and her eyes so small without make-up, showing her ancestors and her heritage of this country, she felt horrible. She did not even care that people would see her like this. After walking too many more steps (according to her body) she found a bench not too far from the hospital, they would be able to find her. She had told the smiling nurses that she needed fresh air. Kai would be asleep, he would not need his mother right now. He just needed to get stronger, he only needed her for... for what actually... they had gotten the school nurse to save him. The school nurse! What kind of incapable mom did that make her. she could not do anything, she was damn quirkless for crying out loud how would she protect her son... not even from herself, because she got over that problem after one night and in one instant now that he was born after her own stupidity, she should tell G how she felt but not now, it was not important, their son was all that mattered. Hanako sat herself on the wooden bench and looked at all the people in the early morning that rushed past her, they were all probably going to work or going home from their nightshifts and she was here, lack of sleep because of her son, because every time she turned around in that bed she woke up from pain, but she had not said a word about it to anyone. It did not matter, all that mattered was the little one. She sighed and took a sip of the tea that she had taken with her, it will be fine, the nurse was there, Nakahara-san was there for them, she did no longer hate her, she could not deal without her and grateful that G knew her so well. For now, she would just sit and say nothing, the reporter was tired of everything and the decisions she could not make or could not consider. What to do but sit for now...

Alright then. Time to get back into his groove. He's been slacking off on his morning routine recently, what with the jobs and whatnot. He's slowly getting back into his boxing routine, but he has to get his conversation of energy back in regulation. And what better way to get it back to normal than by running through the Tokyo districts early in the morning? After all, it's what he used to do before the whole injury thing, and now that that's out of the way, he has no reason not to do it. Plus, he might just let out some steam (literally) and see how faster he's gotten. Only discreetly, though. He can't risk frightening people...again.
Early morning passes. Brandon runs through the streets with his briefcase attached to his back. A sort of counterweight to aid him in his routine. If he can manage to last longer while carrying extra weight on him, then imagine how much longer he can last while transformed. Wouldn't that be nice, to be able to last longer in that burning sauna that he calls his transformation. Every time he gets into that form, all he can do is just drink and drink water nonstop. He really needs to get Kent to make that cooling vest for him sooner or later. Maybe spruce it up with some flame decals or something to match his helmet. Hell, maybe make it part of his costume! He's looking for ideas on making one for his vigilante jobs. Would make him look more fearsome against dumb ass gang members, at the very least.
Some hours go by. He's not sure, all he knows is that it looks brighter now. Passing through on his general path, he starts to notice some things. The birds seem less annoying than usual, the clouds appear to be parting and letting in more sun, and some people are sitting on benches. Speaking of benches, he's starting to feel a bit tired, looks like he might just take a small break and relax on a bench. Let's see here...where in the world is the right bench for him to sit on...hmmmmm...huh? Hold on there.
Brandon starts to slow down as he notes someone sitting down. They look a bit disheveled, but the overall appearance is the same. It's that reporter lady he met like...February? Man, that feels like a century ago. Back when he was still moping around...God, that was stupid, heh. He starts to slowly approach her. "Yo! Been a while, Reporter!" He gives off a tired smirk as he starts to pull out a water bottle from his briefcase. "You're up early. How's it been since we last met in the cafe?"
For a so called contact, he hasn't been doing a good job in giving her info. But those days were the ones where Kent refused to let him do anything 'heavy.' Hopefully she'll understand. Though, Brandon wonders, he can't fault her if she gets upset over his failure on his part.

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Should she resign? But she can't, she would not be able to take it if someone else to the title that she came up with years ago. She would just do it differently, more safe, yes, yes she could discuss that with G. He hated her job like that, he would surely try to convince her to stop anyway but she did not want to do that, she had plans, she should talk to Fix, it was her own fault but if she could bring down any of those smug bastards she would. She would... she would destroy..she would.. what? Reporter? She looked up to see a guy she met months ago, her habit of patting her stomach was still there but she stopped halfway the motion and looked up at Brandon, she instantly recognized the young man from a meeting before, she did not know the exact time but she knew that they discussed some information, she suspected him from being a vigilante. Now... she was a fan of that.
How did she look? She must look horrible, so... so... what was the right word... as if she did not take care of herself, cryable. "I could do better." did it matter if she lied or not, he would not pity her, would he? Did she care... technically she would. She looked at the hospital behind them and looked back, "You look better than the last time we met." It suppose to be a compliment but it did not feel that way, maybe she lost her ability of being charming at this moment. "Did you find any news on the man you were looking for? That was you right?" Right, she had been eavesdropping, he had been talking with that bear... she wouldn't mind meeting that bear because that was well impressive... goddamn quirkers! They were so... so everything, it wasn't fair and she felt even closer to crying. She had not heard anything for him, she was so powerless but in this world against her sort of people, she could not open her mouth.

"Yeaaaah...uh, sorry about the whole not updating you on stuff. Truth was, I was kinda on a whole...slump those few months. But, that's gonna change! See?" He shows her the formerly mutated arm. "Back to normal...hell, I think I'm doing better than normal these days." He starts to chug the bottle down. "But the more I feel better, the less I know about the guy I'm supposed to find. Kinda makes one think...speaking of which..." He looks at her and, shuffling through his briefcase, grabs a spare bottle. "You want one? It's not much, but water can do wonders for ya. Trust me, I would know." Even if she did or did not accept it, Brandon places it near her. He continues to stand near her, not wanting to take up any space.
"So yeah...More of less a dead end on my part." He crumples up the empty bottle. "But that's not gonna stop me. Just a part of the process, more or less." He looks at her, and she appears to be somewhat nervous. "Ya know...a lot has changed in these few months...how are you holding up on your end? Any new breakthroughs for your personal stuff?" He tries to make small talk without making it weird. He wasn't really good at 'tiptoeing' around people whenever it's clear they don't feel great. Even when he had that personal slump, he still didn't bother to put any effort on that. He would rather let stuff out in the open and just get it done with. But, he's been trying a bit more harder to let others keep some stuff to themselves. It's a slow process, though. "You got...any new jobs?" He asks her, opening the briefcase and shoving in the empty bottle so he can throw it away later.

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She tried to keep the smile on her face and shrugged, "don't worry, I haven't found any information for you either, so it's not that bad. Maybe one day I will just get an interview about your job, anonymous for my readers of course." How could she think about that... it was this freaking job that had ruined everything, that had made Kai ill, it was ridiculous, it was bad, it was a punishment if she continued like this. She should be punished for her bad work, for her bad and destructive thoughts and not her son. "Glad to hear you are doing better." She said and she meant it, it was good that whatever had bothered him apart from his arm might be gone. She looked up surprised when he offered her a bottle of water and she took it without actually thinking much about it. She could definitely use a miracle but this water bottle wasn't going to help with it. "What do you mean, the better you get, the further away you are from that guy? You mean distractions that happen?" She wanted distractions now, she looked shortly at her phone for the time but they did not need her and besides the hospital knew where she was anyway. She liked the way he used words, breakthroughs, yes, definitely especially the breakpart. "Being locked up in the hospital is a breakthrough in every way of the word but well I am a mother now, so I will focus on that." This was the first time she used the word mother in a context that it was her, she was indeed a mother now. Her little one was ill and there was nothing she could do. She felt like crying, the only thing she had done lately, that was kind of pathetic even for her. With a shaking breath she took a sip of the water he had just offered. "I tried a few new interviews with vigilantes and pro-heroes but it's a lot of work to work out those words without giving away private information, I want to be so very careful." But she had not been careful enough about the previous information, she did not know who it was, the gorilla man from before, she did not care, she did not want to go back there, like ever. The problem was she had no choice but it were worries for over ten weeks, or so she assumed.

"Eeeeeeeeh, kinda like distractions, only...it's weird. It's like um...when you try to make some lunch, but every time you open the fridge someone calls at you to taste test something they made. Somethin' like that." Brandon wasn't really good at making analogies, if he were to be honest. He was more suited to fight, not to wax poetry or some other stuff. "Yeah, think an interview would be nice. Maybe in the near future, eh?" He gives off a small smirk, trying to give a good impression
What she said next surprised him though. "Wha? Hospital? Are you-Hold on." She said she was a mother now. "Wait...You're a mom? Wait, you were pregnant?" He looked at her somewhat flabbergasted. "..W-wow...well, um, Congrats on your new kid! I'm, um, guessing they're back in the hospital, right?" The last time they met, she didn't look pregnant at all. Although, that was during the same period of time where he was obsessed with looking at his arm in self-pity. Still, this was kinda something to celebrate about. She didn't look too great about it, but that might due to lack of sleep. "Should have brought a gift for this event, haha…" He somewhat jokes.
"Secret info, huh?" He crosses his arms after she mentions how hard it is to work with info distribution. "Makes sense. Can't really tell people everything from the get go. Not a huge fan of it...but it kinda makes sense." It doesn't make sense to him personally, but it does make sense logically. As much as he just wants to tell people everything, there are times that he just can't. Whether it's for legal issues, moral issues, 'accidently broke Kent's stuff" issues, those times are the times where being silent could be the right answer. It just...it just doesn't feel 'right' to him. "Plus, Wouldn't be surprised if people went after the interviewee if their name got out. Seems like ripe bait to me."

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Normally she might not have cared for Brandon's story. Truly that was mean and probably also very inpolite and cruel but she wanted to hear so many other things than the inside of the hospital where she had not even been a full week. It only made matters worse if she thought about it that way, she would stay at least a few more. Her poor baby, okay, focus on the conversation. Distractions, that's what Brandon was talking about and she felt it in the very fiber of her being at this point of the conversation. "So every time you try to find this guy, other crimes show up but not as important rather small?" She wasn't sure if she got the analogy that he made but to be fair it wasn't a bad one if she caught it this way, she wanted to smile but it felt a bit hollow. She nodded, "Let me know when you have time, some things are more important." She said with a smile, a bit better now than only seconds ago. As much as she feared her job of Lady Scandal, as that got her in the hospital again, it was her normal blog where she invited and talked to others such as RedHorn and Blue Blitz so why not Brandon too? She might quit, but she would not stop her normal blog and interviews, vigilantes and pro-heroes, it might be a lot safer... maybe.
She nodded when he asked for what she said, she surely felt as surprised as him but in a different way. She was not prepared to be a mother so early, she had been preparing in a slow stadium, not immediate. She nodded again and bit her lip, they met around february, she was only three months pregnant than. "Thanks," And she nodded again, "He was born too soon, when we first met I was only a few weeks pregnant, nothing to see basically. He wasn't due for another ten weeks." She had to shut up, it wasn't as if this guy was interested in someone's pregnancy and she did not blame him, that was just normal. She laughed a little at his joke though, it made her happier, "Maybe next time." She answered to the comment but her smile now stayed. As they spoke about how the anonymity worked of her job or well of the people she interviewed she agreed, "Not everyone minds, I could use hero names or vigilante names, but some people find themselves further on the other side of the law and want to stay anonymous completely." She sighed, "Apart from that I am afraid that our society is by far ready to learn and understand everything that is out there, whether for some it is not a big deal or not." She did not only mean the issue about quirkers, just a lot of things that people tend to not want to know. "Exactly, I want to avoid that," She answered when Brandon got the point, "Which would harm me in a way too, no one wants to give an interview if that simply mean you turn into bait."

"Yup! Preeeeeety much. Even during the couple of months I was down I found myself distracted by small time punks. It's just how it be sometimes." He chuckles a bit.
"Born sooner than expected, wow. That kid's a fighter." He smirks a bit. "Think my mom joked about how I was born a healthy baby boy...it didn't really make sense to me until I found out apparently during her 9 months, she had some issues. Glad to see this wasn't the case with your kid. Nice." He crosses his arms a bit. This slight tidbit made him think about something. Even back then, did he have his quirk? Could that be the reason? Could her kid having a quirk be the reason as to why he was early? Who knows, in this weird world one could possibly give birth to anything and it can still be considered human, in the end. Which is nice, he nods to himself.
"Grabbing their attention through an interview is dangerous...Although..." The idea of bait itself was...in a way, kinda intriguing. "If done in a certain, maybe it could be helpful as bait? Dunno how it works, the interviews and shit. Just figured that if its even possible to use them as bait to intentionally grab those assholes...Nah, that's too much of a risk. Can't do that..." He shakes his head. "Sorry about that. Just thinking out loud." He looks ahead.
"...So. After you get out of this here with your kid and go back home with your kid, what are you gonna do?"

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She wasn't the person who tried to see the silver lining in every situation, she very much tried to hold on to such thoughts right now with her little one ill. She was a mother, she would stay his mother no matter- nope not thinking about that. "Maybe you see it in a negative attitude." She tried to give him a smile but again it did not reach her eyes, "It's more like a training than a distraction, if you would sit and wait or only search and not continue training, you will never find that man either." She had no information for him, it was a shame, maybe he had been in Nakano or anything, Hanako did not know, she had only met Elena there. Maybe she should text Elena and Delta about her issues now. She needed baby clothing soon. Could she manage to go that far from the hospital without him? She blinked surprised at Brandon when he called her son a fighter. His smile made her wonder what he meant, it wasn't her son who wanted to be born ten weeks early, it was her stupidity it was... It-it... She wasn't sure what to say, yes he was a fighter, he would probably... yes he would hold on, he would survive, if he was anything like G and she felt the tension leave her shoulders, besides they were at the hospital and that meant in capable hands and he was sleeping now and doing fine else they would have come calling. "That's a new way of seeing it, but yes, he is." She mused on a little further, G would understand that, they would be fine, Kai would be fine and she nodded to herself and looked up when they spoke about her job. Writing in an anonymous way as well as making sure that the attention wasn't dangerously shifted to her interviewee. "Although?" She repeated as they just discussed that it could be seen as bait and it felt like Brandon was interested. "Well normally I just have a conversation, ask things I wonder about or my readers and write it down, hero name or no name at all. But well the writing is of course done with no taunting or poking in the wrong ways to make sure no one feels annoyed but more informed, I could do that differently if the person wants to. If you want to we could discuss it later, when I am... well obviously out of here." The timing of her release could take a few more weeks, she herself wasn't in fabulous shape either, but she was fine, she wasn't small and fragile, even if it felt that way. She should not be interested in writing a piece, even if no one attacked her for her normal Hanako blog, Lady Scandal had made this problem. And Lady Scandal was she. "What am I going to do?" She felt the surprises tumbling over her, she had not thought about it, she did not want to return to the metropolitan, that was for sure. "I probably work from home. Interviews and all." Probably no longer with villains, she should give up her channel in the Underground and just ask G and Elena for contacts so she know she could trust those people. She was actually working on writing that book now that she was stuck here most of the time, albeit she slept a lot too but when she could not, she tried to distract herself with writing. In a complete difference sense of before but it was an way for her to let go of the happenings, the scenes very different but it was yet the same in her mind of moments in her life before.

"Yeah, makes sense." He nods his head. Of course she would, dumbass. She just gave birth, of course she's gonna be at home for a while to recuperate from this sort of shit. It's common sense, man. If you were in a medical related accident, of course you would stay at home for a while...that's kinda what he did after the whole arm injury incident, barring the hospital. He could have gone to the hospital...but there was something in his mind that drove a wedge in that. Something like...was it doubt? Doubt that they couldn't do anything for him? Fear of somehow getting caught despite trying to do a good thing? Who knows...all he knows is that in hindsight, he really should have gone to the hospital after getting stabbed in the hand. "Think after this, I'm gonna look if there's any more jobs for me. The usual: deliveries, fix ups, contracts, you get the gist. It's nearly summer, so I'm expecting at least some kind of increase in activity. Though, at the same time, I also don't want any kind of...well, those kind of events happening again. Don't want to jinx us with another broadcast hijacking." He looks down and shoves his hands in his pockets.
"...Well then." It's starting to get a bit awkward. Here he was, disturbing a brand new mother's attempt at peace and quiet with his bullshit. "Guess It's about time to head on my way. Uum...Mizuki, right? Think we're nearby a connivence store...want me to get you something?" Somewhat sudden, but he was merely thinking of a quick visit to the shop and get her some sort of snack or drink. Nothing big, just something to keep her on her toes during this event. "Like, it's no hassle, I was already planning to go there."

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Yes it made a lot more sense if she could just tell what happened, it was not to Brandon even if they barely knew each other it was also saying a lot about herself, she could not for the life of her confess her own stupidity, she should say it to the man she loved first. But she could not tell G that she did not dare to return to her job, what kind of weakling did that make her? She listened to him, it felt so natural to do, she rather worried and considered things for others than think about her own situation, about her own son who was fighting a cold right now. She felt this itchy sound behind her nose, she should not cry right now and she blinked a few times rapidly. "I agree with you there, I switched the television off when I saw it." She had not wanted to see, she had not wanted to talk about it and she would hear it anyway at work, that's what happened, she did not want to know at that point, there was so much going on, she had so much to focus on and for the first time in months, she wondered if her life would every be easy and relaxed but dating a vigilante, made probably for the opposite. She noticed that their conversation seemed restricted, it was not going the smoothest way and she blamed herself and gave him an apologizing smile. She nodded when he said her surname, at the moment not in a state of mind to tell him that he could call her by her first name. She smiled warm at the young man when he offered to get her something from the store, "No thank you," She had to remember what she was allowed to eat and what not, the nurses kept an eye on her, "Water for now is enough." But she found it very nice of him to offer, "Good luck on finding a job, if I see something I could text you if you want, but at the moment I think you would bump into more news than I do." She said with a smile still, it surely did something on her mood, in a good way, to be out and about for a few and just talk about anything else. She might text him in the future about a potential interview.

All things should end well. That was something that Brandon considered a personal motto of his. Moral wise or event wise, it should have some sort of satisfying end that everyone would find to be fitting. He had some issues with his arm, and in the end, he got himself some new tricks and no more mutant arm. She might have had some issues but currently she doesn't seem like she needs to worry about them right now. Suppose that'll do for 'well.' Shame she didn't want a water bottle, but hey. He can understand it: sometimes he too doesn' want to quench himself with some water, sometimes he would rather drown himself in protein shakes.
"Heh. Your loss. They got some good drinks there." He slightly chuckles and shuffles his hand around his pocket, looking at his phone. He's been leasing too much of his workout time for socializing, it's about time to head to the store to see if Kent needs anything. Perhaps he got a contract for him, maybe a simple delivery. Who knows. "Welp, I'mma head out then. It's nice talking to you, reporter lady. I'll keep you noted on any news I find this time, promise." he gives off a somewhat smug but also goofy smirk. "Till then. Ciao." He seems somewhat surprised that he said that...then sighs. "Goddamn owner's infecting me with his bullshit..." He mutters under his breath as he walks off to the convenience store.
