It was another lovely weekend. The sky was mostly clear, with only a few passing clouds. Kumoko was in Tokyo Park, as it was one of her favorite places to hang out and relax in. Sure there were some scary memories of this place, like the thugs that attacked her that one time, and those other thugs that attacked her that other time (jeez, so many quirkist people who seem to want nothing more than to bring harm to the poor girl). But there were also some fond memories made here too, like being saved by two awesome vigilantes, befriending Kenshin, and getting to meet Army of One, her favorite Pro-Hero.
Speaking of Kenshin, it was a shame that the boy could not be here today. When she called him to see if he was busy, he informed her that he was going to spend the weekend in Kyoto with his uncle, promising to be there for her next time. It was a shame, as Kumoko enjoyed listening to him play on his bass guitar. Oh well.
Kumoko was familiar with some of the other people who also liked to frequently visit the park. Most of the people here paid the spider-headed girl no mind, instead going about their business. A few would sometimes stare at the girl in awe and even say hi to her. And then there were those who liked to pretend she wasn't there, avoiding her seemingly at all costs. The ones who still held that mentality of mutants being 'freaks' and all that. Although such thoughts still saddened Kumoko, she had learned by now to just accept that not everyone would be okay with seeing a girl with a giant joro spider for a head. That was okay, as people were entitled to their opinions. As long as they were not like those thugs who chose to make a scene by openly attacking her.
Sitting down on one of the empty benches, Kumoko looked up at the sky and smiled, quietly humming a short tune to herself. That shade of blue remained as beautiful as ever. Though whether the day would prove to be uneventful and forgettable, or if a new memory would be made today (whether it was fond or a horrid one) remained to be seen. Whatever the case was, Kumoko hoped that today would be a good day.
I wonder what's in store for me today?

| YOU SAID YOU WANTED REVOLUTION, MAN
AND I SAY THAT YOU'RE FULL OF SHIT |
It was another boring weekend.
Trudging through Tokyo Pork, the teenager's shoulders were slumped and her gaze vacant, as she wandered almost aimlessly beneath the trees. Her attire, along with this lax attitude, made her quite the atypical punk to onlookers. Dark hooded jacket, cheap jeans, a spiked collar necklace and pointed piercings, with hair that hung over the right side of her face... Machi Kusakawa looked very much like she'd stepped out of a mid-2000s rock concert. This was entirely the point; Machi made no effort to hide her love for that culture, even if it earned her a few wary looks. Not that her way of dressing was the only 'red flag' to the family-friendly park goers. The girl also made her status quite clear.
At least, to those familiar with the lives of the Japanese homeless.
Slung over her shoulder was a simple cloth bag, within was already quite a few empty cans and bottles. Machi also wore thin gloves over her hands. Not out of fear of hygiene issues - she'd long surpassed the point of worrying about that - but more to stop herself from any accidental cuts on what she retrieved. That could be... Problematic, and one hell of a pain in the ass. More of a pain than this shit already was.
Machi grumbled to herself as she half-heartedly picked up another empty can from the ground and stowed it away. Beggars couldn't be choosers, but that didn't mean Machi was happy with this job. Unfortunately, her casing outings hadn't been too fruitful as of late, so the girl needed someway to survive the next week or so...
"Old bastard better have something for me..."
The girl groaned, her eyes glancing over the other citizens enjoying their day in the park. Families, kids, all kinds of people without a worry in the world. Happy to just... Get out for the weekend. It made her kind of sick, knowing that all these idiots had their survival already guaranteed. Every weekend they got the carrot, then these pigs happily chased it again the next week. Never caring about where it came from.
Assholes.
Speaking of persons comparable to backsides, Machi's eyes drifted over a group of troubled-looking youths nearby, just as one of them finished a canned soft drink. Bingo, an easy extra few Yen. Being the jackass they were, they tossed it to the ground almost immediately, prompting Machi to call out to them.
"Hey! Toss that here." The girl commanded simply, waving her bag in front of her to make her intentions clear. Unfortunately, the youths weren't all too cooperative, the one who'd discarded the can turning around to kick it away, smirking at her in the shit-eating way so many teens did when they thought they'd successfully screwed someone over. Just for the hell of it. Machi, however, wasn't too surprised.
"Fuckers." She uttered simply, raising her middle finger toward them as she trudged over to where the can had been propelled towards. If they weren't in the park, she'd have given them something more to remember her by... Or so she told herself. There were more important things to focus on now, regardless.
Like where the can had ended up.
It had clattered right to the feet of someone sat upon one of the benches. Not just any someone. A girl with a fucking spider for head. 'Sweet shit...' Machi thought to herself, her eyes widening in a mixture of morbid curiosity and genuine disgust. The good kind of disgust. The kind that made her kind of want to poke it. Fuck, it was so freaking sick! That aside, right now, she just wanted the Yen, so would have to hold onto that curiosity for now.
"Oi, Spiderhead." Machi would yell as she approached the girl. It would be awkward to reach down to her feet and just grab the thing, so this interaction was unfortunately necessary. "Toss it here." Please was a bit outside of Machi's vocabulary, so she just gestured to the can at Kumoko's feat and then left her hand open under the assumption the girl would toss it to her. Or maybe she'd just hiss and spit venom or webbing her way, Machi honestly didn't know. Either seemed plausible, really.

If there was a safe haven for animals, that'd be the Tokyo Park. Its far from the concrete jungle that is the urban area. It was something more familiar with the animal. Grass, trees, bushes, nature. If our bug would have vocable thoughts it would be something along the lines of 'The home of my brethren'. Though of course being a wild animal that would just be creepy and clicking bug sounds.
Still, this animal liked the park. It wasnt hungry for now, it just needed to find a nice and safe place to rest. Comfy too. But it seemed that the search for a safe place would be interrupted by some curious sounds. The animal walked over towards the direction of the sound and then saw a scene in the distance. It was humans as usual, when was it not? The animal watched as something was flying, an item of a sort. Was it food? Maybe it wouldnt hurt to have spare food in its new nest. The animal ran over where the item was falling. Only to stop and see it fell where a spiders feet were.
The animal pondered a bit on what to do as it couldnt determine if that was a human with a spider quirk or a spider with a human quirk. It cautiously went towards it, to investigate and see what was going on.

As Kumoko continued to stare into the sky, she began to daydream a bit. Imagining a world without hate, where people weren't judged by their quirks or appearances, but by their character. It was clear that modern society still had a long way to go before getting to that point. However, it was also clear that there were people out there who were trying to make that happen. The true heroes, the ones who cared not for fame and glory, but for doing the right thing. For saving people, stopping crime, helping those in need.
Kumoko's thoughts were suddenly interrupted by something hitting her feet. Instantly snapping out of her daydream, Kumoko looked down and was surprised to see a can at her feet. Huh? What's this doing here? Frowning, Kumoko picked up the can. Who would throw this here? Just the thought of someone ruining this beautiful park by shamelessly littering saddened the spider-headed girl.
But then she heard a voice call out to her, or at least Kumoko thought that 'Spiderhead' referred to her. After all, she did not see anyone else here with a spider for a head. She then saw a girl who seemed to be around her and Kenshin's age, holding a bag filled with empty cans and bottles. Was she picking up the litter at the park? Kumoko smiled. How very commendable, to volunteer to do such a thing. If only more people were like this girl. Upon being told to toss the can, Kumoko smiled and nodded. "Sure thing!"
As she lowered her hand to pick up the can, however, Kumoko noticed something approaching. It appeared to be some kind of insect. Definitely a unique one. Kumoko stared at it for a moment. It was so... so... SO CUTE!
"Awwww, hi there, you adorable cutie pie! Did you want this can?" Kumoko just wanted to go over to the little sweet thing and pick it up, hug it, and never let it go. However, the girl knew better than to do that. The animal could be feral and wary of people. More importantly, she did not want to do anything to frighten the little one. She also knew that the little critter could not have the can. Picking up the can, Kumoko tossed it to the girl who asked for it, being careful to do so gently so as to avoid either missing completely and making the girl have to go get it, or even worse, hitting the girl in the face.
Kumoko felt bad for essentially taking the can away from the adorable animal before it even had the chance to get it. So as a small apology and a way to make it up to the little cutie, Kumoko decided to offer the animal some food. Taking out one of the wrapped bee-shaped honey cakes she had in her bag, she tore the plastic wrapper open, took out the honey cake inside, scrunched up the wrapper and put it away in her bag to throw away later (in the nearest trash can, of course), and set the cake down on the ground close to the animal to let it know the food was for it to keep. "There you go. Much better for you than some can."
After giving the small animal a warm smile, Kumoko looked over to the girl she gave the can to. "It's really nice of you to pick up the cans and bottles in the park. It's so shameful that some jerks are inconsiderate enough to just leave things lying around like that. So thank you." Kumoko decided that she should do something similar sometime. After all, she loved the park and wanted to do anything she could to help keep it clean and beautiful.

| YOU SAID YOU WANTED REVOLUTION, MAN
AND I SAY THAT YOU'RE FULL OF SHIT |
As if one freak wasn't enough, it seemed Machi's day was going to be blessed by yet another offense against the creator in the form of... Well, to be honest, Machi had no idea what it was. The creature that had skittered over to the can at the spider girl's feet definitely wasn't anything Machi had seen before. Quirks, man. They were the stuff of nightmares. There was little denying how creepy and monstrous this bug-monster-thing was, nor was there any denying that Machi Kusakawa found it completely fucking awesome.
She'd hit a two for one when it came to the horrors of Tokyo Park, the teenager smiling lightly to herself and scoffing at just how unlikely it seemed that they'd converge like this. Maybe it was fate, or some shit. Not that Machi really had much time to gawk at them, really she just needed that can, which it seemed like the spider girl was going to give to her. If she wasn't too freaked out by the -
Oh, never mind, she called it a cutiepie. In hindsight, it would've been quite hypocritical of the spiderheaded lass to find the bug-dog-hairy-thing-creature scary. At her current sight, all Machi could do was muse that the spider head had good taste.
For a moment, she was concerned that she was gonna lose that can to the whatever-it-is, but it looked like the other girl wasn't the silly. Machi caught the can tossed to her, uttering a quiet "Thanks." as she watched curiously. The gothic-clad girl even slowly walked towards the odder pair, hand in pocket as she raised a brow... While Kumoko withdrew a honey cake for the bug. Could bugs even eat honey or cake? Eh, who knew, probably.
"Damn, even a bug's eatin' better than me..." Machi uttered quietly to herself with a light chuckle and scoff. It had been far too long since she'd eaten anything other than instant noodles and convenience store bread. Hopefully today's haul would afford her some more expensive foodstuffs...
However, there were some misconceptions about Machi's purpose within the park. The spider girl made Machi out to be some kind of upstanding citizen, compliments which immediately made her uncomfortable. Machi just let out a scoff, moving closer to the pair while looking out for more cans.
"Sorry Spiderhead, I'm not doing it to clean up. Easy money, trading in cans and bottles. Jackasses who leave their shit around just make me more Yen." The girl would explain in a quick attempt to dispel any idea she was doing this out of the goodness of her heart or something like that. Though Machi did want to get back to work, she was also one to let her curiosity get the better of her, and right now, she was pretty damn curious about the creature at the spider's feet.
"Where the hell are you even from, you little creep?" Machi would utter with morbid intrigue, leaning down to pet what hairy parts it did have. It seemed to have something resembling a mane. "Reckon this thing is Quirked? The fuck am I saying, it's gotta be..." She idly asked 'Spiderhead'. Machi didn't need too many cans, she could bask in the freakshow for a bit, she figured.

The... person spoke. Spoke like a human and yet the animal couldnt tell which it was. Human with spider quirk, or spider with human quirk. But in its human hand, the animal saw that food wasnt flying. It was just metal. It was that metal thing that sometimes had liquid. That thing was not needed. Well the thing was tossed away anything. So perhaps it was time for this animal to go back to its nest.
But then something unexpected happened. Food was offered to it for once! It was incredible. Just watching the food, the animal drooled. Again forgetting it drools sizzeling acid. It just drooled on the grass as it watched the honey cake be lowered on the ground. The animal then walked over to the honey cake and gently picked it up with its mouth. This was not food to be eaten now. It can be like a reserve, a spare for its nest
Although, as the animal turned around, it saw a more normal human. One that wasnt mixed with any animal. This one didnt seem hostile and by the following words that were heard "Damn, even a bug's eatin' better than me...", this one didnt seem to be that better off than the animal. Well, this was a predicament for the animal. What to do? It didnt need food now, so maybe give it to the hungry one? Or save food for later. As it pondered for a moment, it remembered that maybe something can cut food and create two food. Yes! Brilliant! That way both can have food. And humans have things to cut and make two of food. Right! The animal walked over to the hungry one and put the honey cake on the ground gently, expecting the human to know that she can just share it. The hungry one patted the critter. And well... damn.. that felt real good, so good that the animal just walked over closer to her, just nuzzling her and wanting more

Welp, it seemed like Kumoko was mistaken. The girl was apparently picking up cans not out of the kindness of her heart, but to make a few easy yen. This saddened the spider girl. She could not imagine just how tough this girl's life must be if her life has gotten to the point where she has to resort to picking up trash to make money. That wasn't right. No one deserved to have to live like that. Kumoko wanted to try to help the girl out somehow. Perhaps treat her to lunch? But she did not want to come off as rude or anything. What if the girl took offense, thinking that Kumoko was just pitying her?
Kumoko then noticed several things about the adorable insect. First, the way it was drooling upon seeing the honey cake was adorable. Oh, how she wanted to go pet it! Second, the drool itself was acidic. Definitely not wise to just go and pet it if it was wary of strangers. Kumoko did not want to scare the little one off. And third, it seemed to want to share the cake with the girl. Kumoko smiled. Awww, that's so sweet! Even sweeter was the way the girl was petting the little one. So adorable!
"I have another one if you want one." As sweet as the insect's gesture of wanting to share was, Kumoko doubted that it was a good idea to eat food that was literally on the ground. Unless this girl's quirk had something to do with being able to eat even foods that were unhygienic. Or maybe she wouldn't even care that the cake was on the ground. Hey, Kumoko was not one to judge. If Machi did want a honey cake for herself, Kumoko would be more than happy to hand one to her. Even if it meant that there would be none left for the spider girl. Oh well, she could always go buy some more at the mall.
And then Kumoko realized something. She didn't know the girl's name! Come to think of it, the reverse was true as well! The girl did call her Spiderhead, after all. Whoops! Oh well, better late than never. "My name's Kumoko. Nice to meet you!" Kumoko then looked over to the insect and began speaking in a cutesy voice, as though it was the most adorable baby ever. "And what's your name, cutiepie?"
