all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ It wasn't getting any easier lately, walking, moving, it made her all tired with this weather. Leave out how much she felt like a walking circus tent and it was only getting worse because she was only twenty-five weeks pregnant. That meant fifteen more weeks and that also meant their little boy would be growing more and those dresses would get worse they were not her style and even if she told Bashira she would not wear them: she was, they were comfortable in the sense of: warm days. She could not believe that at the start of June, Tokyo could already be so hot. Which was why she had escaped the house of her aunt and uncle where she stayed now, to visit her friend Delta at her bar. Of course, miscalculating that more people thought so and Delta would be busy. As usual the woman sat at the bar itself on one of the bar stools but instead of drinking anything alcoholic even if she wanted to, she was simply drinking a mango smoothie. Well it worked with the weather. She had her long hair in a ponytail and she felt everything but pretty. She missed him, especially after the heart attack he gave her, figuratively, about being in the hospital. However, after her outburst of emotions, she had not dared to call him anymore, he did not text her on her birthday and she did not blame him, she wouldn't know if she should text him if it was his birthday either and well she wasn't sure if she should ask for that date. If she stopped being so indecisive, it could all be a lot easier. She sipped on the straw of her smoothie and simply looked at her phone. She should probably work on a new blog, for some strange reason her Lady Scandal article was behind too and she dreaded that her outburst from before would be published while rekindling, she could not have that. She should also contact Fix but was hesitant in that too. She had not been much at the Tokyo Underground chat for a reason. Also because she did not want to restart a fight, she had to talk to G... maybe that's why she did not dare to text him. She wasn't ready to confess, how could she be ready to confess to Haruuhi and Miku weeks ago but not to their father. Oh for god sake, she thought to herself: make up your mind.

It’s been only few weeks since he came to this country. While he was getting few curious looks to his foreign figure he didnt had any problem so far for being a foreigner. The only problem was his research. He came all the way to Japan, yet his research didnt proceed a bit. He was still looking for places and people to use in his researches and experiments. Without those resources he wasnt able to do anything.
While he didnt care much for weather –as it was even hotter in where he is from- today was still hot enough to irritate him. Hot weather is equal to sweaty people… Disgusting he thought as he stroll at crowded streets of the place called “4th Corner”. He wasnt just walking around aimlessly even though it sure looked like it. His goal was finding some fellow-minded person to use in his researches he’ll conduct soon. It was few days ago when he decided bars would be the best place to find people for this job. Intoxicated people tend to act irrational. Easy pray, easy time. His thoughts ended as he entered to some random bar which he thought would be good research spot. He didnt know anywhere around here anyway so he just choose using his guts. Best way to start is to go with your guts! He thought as he moved to bar stools just to be surprised by the sight of a beautiful lady. Now that was unexpected, he surely didnt expect to see HER here.
A lady which he knew from her blog was sitting alone. He read many magazines/blogs/news to understand Japan and it’s society better. They actually give him enough knowledge about the way people think. Well enough knowledge for starters at least... From what he remember she was optimistic about existence of Heroes and people with Quirk. While he didnt share her sentiment on the subject he still liked the way she write about it. Abandoning his original plan to look out for people, he decided to have a little chat with her.
Acting as kindly as possible he pointed stool next to her "May i?", but didnt wait for her to answer. He just asked it to act kind, he was not going to give her a chance to reject him. After sitting he ordered a cold beer. "Please bring it in bottle instead of with beer glass". He couldnt be sure that glass would be clean. Who knows how many disgusting person drink from that glass… Aaah dont think. Dont think! In order to stop this train of thoughts he turned back to lady, whose name was Hana yet he didnt call her that. "Seems like someone left the Hell’s doors open out there. I never thought Japan could be that hot." The reason he didn't start with main topic was also not to cause distress for her. "Must be hard for both of you." He smiled kindly as he look at her belly before making an eye contact with her. "Oh, you can call me Berthiol by the way."

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She wanted to talk to her friend, she wanted an adult to tell her to snap out of it like Haruuhi had done. It wasn't entirely fair but she was trying to tell herself that what did Haruuhi know about it, she was just a child, even if she was right. It was just to help her own ego, her own fear to be subdued and so on. Would he still find her attractive if she felt like a walking giant with that melon on her body and so sweaty by the slightest issues of the weather. Probably not. Albeit a little voice in her head said that she should stop lying to herself, he had said I love you, right after she did. She turned to look at her right, surprised someone asked her to sit next to her, so she did not say anything before the man already took the chair, it wasn't if she minded, it was just that her head was all over the place, her mind that is and that she could not understand why someone needed permission from her to go sit.
See in a normal state she surely would appreciate it. It was now just too much from everything.
She turned to look at the man as he spoke to her and turned to look at her baby bump, she had just called it a melon in her head, she was such a wrong mother. No time for tears, she had to focus. "It's ridiculous, it's only June. It will be worse. " But she tried to say it with a laugh to make the mood not as desperate as she was, because she was. As an automatic moment she put her own left hand on her belly and turned to the man that introduced himself, "Hanako, nice to meet you." If only she was in a better thought, well to be honest, it was better than during their break up... they still weren't officially back together though. Aaah it was only getting worse in her mind. Her eyes trying to signal to Delta to calm her down but of course, busy and she wasn't looking that bad and the signal was impossible, next to the fact that she was doing it all the time. "Have you been here before?" He did not look Japanese, but to be fair no one else did too much lately either, look at.. NO! She really had to focus.

"No, it’s been only few weeks since i came to Japan. Today is my first day in this district." He couldnt help but notice her left hand just as she put her hand on her belly. No ring… Three possibilities came to his mind. Either father of the child couldnt take responsibility, died early or situation was a mess... He usually didnt care much about other people. Their lives was their own business. But this woman was different. He read her columns, the way she wrote and used words were pretty good. If he was interested in someone, he’d automatically care about them. That was the sitatution with Hana, he didnt knew her but she had a potentail he wanted to see. Surely such a smart and beautiful woman doesn't deserve such thing.
His train of thoughts ended just as his cold beer was delivered. After taking a sip he felt like all that heat was just blown away. "I’m a… researcher. I came here to investigate the matters of Quirk and people who can use them. Heroes, villains… It’s my area of expertise." Now he was entering her own area of expertise too. He had to chose his words carefully. "As a quirkless person i started to feel less and less special nowadays." As he finished his sentence he laughed. It was not just some fake laugh, he actually find it funny how everything changed. He wasnt mad when he learned he didnt had quirk, he actually never cared about it.
He didnt say anything else, he just set the bait when he said his own area of expertise. Surely she’d talk about it? Well he hoped she would. Asking what work she does might give wrong vibes while asking why she doesnt wear ring would scare the person away. Since he was a child he was always good with words, everyone said he had a silver tongue. But Hana was a smart woman, that kind of “magic” would not work on her. Because of that only thing he could do wait for her to talk about this matters.
As he took another sip from his beer, he watched Hana looking deep into her eyes. He was trying to see something. What was he trying to see? Even he wasn’t sure. Perhaps he was trying to see someone he created on his own mind as he read her column or perhaps he was simply trying to know more about her.

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She wondered, where did he came from, he did not look Japanese but lately not many did and her mind jumped to the man who has been on her mind for so many times and she tried to just forget it but she could not, damn Hanako, focus. "Well let me welcome you to the fourth corner, great you found this spot." She tried to say airy with a smile, "I am friends with the owner." She grinned, yes but Delta was busy so she did not even see her here right now. She patted her baby bump a bit more before taking up the drink again and taking another sip of the mango smoothie, at least there was air condition here so she did not have to feel like a walking swimming pool.
Surprising, he was a researcher, she almost jumped up to have an interview with him but her mind was too far adrift thinking about G and how to fix the problem that no immediate interview questions jumped into her mind. The good thing was she still could focus on having a conversation in general. She looked up surprised, lately no one was open about being quirkless, which made her hesitant to say anything, "I feel more special, considering I don't have a quirk and many more have. It's just a matter of perspective if you ask me, I tend to see the eh positive side." Really, do you? Hanako... she thought to herself if she was doing so, than why did she not just text him! "But what a very interesting research, I am a simple columnist and I work for someone who tries to fight for the rights of quirks, it's again a matter of perspectives, I am not sure what I think myself." It really depended on what the quirkers did and thought probably, let's just say it like this: she had no problems with quirkers, she was thank god no longer jealous but there was just something sometimes that made her not entirely happy about the world and how it worked.

“Thanks. I'm glad i found this place too.” he smiled at Hanako as charming as he can while she welcomed him. He was suprised as he listened her. He thought others was feeling quite unlucky for not having quirk. Even thought some people frigthened by quirks. “Interesting perspective”, he paused to think about what just she said. “So we’re last of our kind, endangered species” A slight smile appeared on his lips. "Yeah i kinda started feeling special” he laughed at his own joke.
Finally she said it. He thought. She actually talked about her being columnist and writing columns about quirks. He didnt knew she was working for someone who was pro quirk... Conversation is going good. For now...
“Interesting, so we share similar professions. Though you shall not just call yourself simple columnist. You can shape the ideas of many just with your words. You can shape the future of ours. That's an important power" He took a quick glance at others in the bar. Simple people who were living their lifes without thinking. Without questioning. Just simply accepting... Turning back to Hana he continued “But i simply cannot share your sentiment on that. It's not a matter of perspective when our future are on the line, when your childs future…” he pointed her belly with his eyes. “We cannot just leave it to perspective or good will. Some can think heroes are good. Villains are bad. Some can just choose to have faith” Gulped whole beer down in one go and continued as he looked at empty bottle. “Well..." He shrugged. "I do not want to think or believe. I want to know. I want to know we can trust them. I want to know... What is this thing we call quirks? What drive heroes to heroism, villains to being criminal?” He turned to Hana once again. “Dont you also want to know? Or are you one of those...” He pointed others in the bar with his head "...Who doesnt think for themselves and just choose to believe." As he finished he ordered another beer. “Another one with bottle please. Thank you.”
He was only drinking because he needed something to drink while talking. He would feel awkard if he didnt. He wasnt someone who'd easily get drunk but this second one would be his last. If he were to drink more he would lose the conversation with Hana. That... That was something he didnt wanted. He wanted to talk more, know her more. He wanted to bring her potential out. Her boss might be problem if he were to force her his own views... I have to do something about that.

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ How long had she not waited to get a quirk, she had dreamed of it from the age of four, when she understood. When she met Wimpy, she was sure that she would get a great quirk so she could team up and become a hero with her best friend. But that best friend disappeared and she had wailed and cried and looked all over the place for him for as far as a six year old was allowed. And now, she left his side again. She wanted to touch the ring she wasn't wearing, the one that would be in his house.
Endangered species brought her back to the here and now. She should be able to change it, but she did not, again and again. She smiled at him, "You get it." She laughed again when he explained why she should not call herself a simple columnist, oh she knew but she also tried to stay humble and not get the idea that people knew who she was, relate it to Lady Scandal. She was sure the world would not have to know at any given point. There were already enough out there who had a suspicion on her which was more than enough. Their futures were not on the line, she met enough quirkers who were decent. "I don't have faith, I approach people and I interview them, surely there are people that I do not believe do what they do for the greater good or right and wrong and some might have a good point but are not using them in the lawful direction. That doesn't make them different from us, they are still human, they only have some weird way of handling something which is a quirk." She did not like how he called out that she could be one of those stupid people who just accepted. "I do want to know their motives, but asking villains is not an easy or save job. I stick to interviewing pro-heroes and vigilantes if they have me. My boss however made me talk to villains from time to time and I don't like it, especially not with the little one coming well soon." Enough weeks to go but still coming, it might be another reason why it was better if G took care of him.
She did not like how some were easy going, only went for the fame or only went around not caring about others while they should represent that, which was why her knuckles turned white as she held the glass gripped on front of her. She would not be able to talk like that, she wasn't her mother and yet she was, they still wanted her to be their mother. Some were freaks and instead of training that, they should be controlled.

Well that was surprising. He did know Hana was hopeful about Quirks, but he didnt expect that kind of answer. His shock could have been written in his face for a few second. “I never said they’re any different. But when they can just kill me in this instant, i’m not inclined to call it “some weird way of handling” either”. He was drinking his beer alot faster this time. Was Hana not someone he think he’d get help from? Was his thought and ideas about her wrong? Well.. That wouldnt be first. When he heard her talk about little one he started to have second thoughts about inviting her. Would they actually be alright? He didnt wanted to take responsibility for that kind of thing. Especially when he’s just come to Japan. After staying silent for some time he decided that she shall be the one to decide that. Gulping down his second beer he turned his whole body to Hana. “You’re a smart woman, but do you actually think just talking with them is enough? Just as you say, they’re human in nature who has extroordinary abilities...” Dangerous abilities... He thought as he talked “…And because they’re humans they can be broken and they can lie…" He waited for a few second before he continue. “Seems like you misunderstood what i’m trying to do and what i’m trying to say. Interview is good enough, but would it wield right results?”. He thought this would make her angry. He just told that what she was doing wasnt good enough. Everyone would get angry. “They can tell you pretty words, but what about their actions? Would they follow those words? Can heroes hold themselves even when they’re angry? Would they act as good as they think themselves to be?”
He continued after a few seconds. He wanted to let things he said sink in. “I’d say lets experiment and put them into that situations so we’d get the best data. Lets research it. Lets see if they’re gonna give into rage and carnage, hopelesness and villainy. Dont you think interviewing them in THIS situations would give you better results?” He stressed “this” part especially. He wanted Hana to understand his ideas and his research. He didnt want to just sit down. He wanted to create havoc and see them people in action. See them when they're pushed back. How can we be sure of them when we dont push them enough to show their real faces ? What if someone else does that and we pay the price?
For that very reason he had to experiment. He had to create that situations and he had to see with his own eyes how they react.

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She had never been skeptic about people that had a quirk, she did not hate people based on their quirk, she hated people with quirks simply and only for what they did to it, such as Bucket or Thundershock, but even if they would not have quirks, she was sure that they would do whatever they were doing now. Simply in another matter. Quirks in her eyes did not define a person. She remembered how shocked G looked at her when she had confessed that she was quirkless and that he would think she was afraid because she was quirkless, a reasonable argumentation, but wrong nonetheless. "Everyone can kill is instantly, that does not have to do with a quirk, I don't want to meet a professional fighter or someone with a gun or a knife either. Yes people with quirks can do it quicker, easier, whatever you want to call it but simply and only because they have a quirk does't make them bad people." Because it simply did not, she would never budge on that opinion, that was for sure. It wasn't as if the world before quirks wasn't painted with blood and dread. "I am not a researcher, but I do not see them as scientific objects, I don't say you do but there are people out there who do, I saw it with my own eyes." Rin. Jasmine. Darren. Yumi. Haruto. The government did not make it easier, it was no miracle that people depended on quirks to protect themselves against something like that. The government surely had two faces and they kept it hidden after Semper Fi and only showed their support through the license for pro-heroes, one day she would bring that second face back into the light. "But I believe that compared to research in the way of science doesn't show the quirkers that I spoke to as human beings." Such as the Yakuza princess, she would at this moment forget or try to forget how afraid she was of Nori as she sat next to her in this same bar. A few seats from where she sat now, it was not necessary to think about it, they might never meet again. "Everyone is entitled to a different opinion and even if they lie to me, they know its anonymous, so why would they? Why would they care what I find of them personally while it's my boss that spread the words." Ha, it was her but who cared about that. At this point she just let him talk, she did not care, she had other things to worry about lately, her pregnancy, her ex-fiance and his kids, so much more important than if those people that she held interviews with lied to her, because she could not care. She did not say anything but stared at him with the most neutral expression on her face, "And why would they simply agree to that?" She said after minutes ticked by in silence. It made them lab rats, maybe he worked for the government and wanted to see what she would do. How would heroes agree to that, maybe as the government forced them but was his research only looking at the ones who wanted to help? G? Kenshin? Elena? She disliked that idea even more.

I already talked too much he thought as he listened Hana. He was prepared to go extra length for a valuable asset like her but her last question ring bells in his mind. Giving anymore information on his upcoming plans would only make it dangerous for him. Especially telling this things to someone he doesnt know very well or trust yet could be fatal.
He thought that she would be interested in finding out what was truly in their minds. For him without pushing people beyond their limits they would never show darkness inside them. “I never said it make them bad people. Nor inhuman. Because they’re human we need to be careful. Just as you said, if people without quirks are this much trouble, how much trouble those people with quirk can cause?” Without waiting for a response he turned back “Seems like we have to agree to disagree on our different views.” and signaled to waitress “How much do i owe?”
After learning how much 2 beer costs he prepared his money as he continue talking. “Also… For the last question you asked.” He said, and at that moment his face has changed.
Strange smile appeared on his face for a second before he managed to mask it again. “They dont need to…” he smirked. “I’m not giving them a chance. Neither to heroes nor villains. They’re going to give those answers either they like it or not.” After he managed to prepare money he simply signaled to woman behind the bar that he’s leaving money on the bar. Getting up he addressed her with her name “It was nice to know you Miss Hana. I wish success and hapiness in your life” as he talked he put a card to bar which had his number on it. “If you ever become interested, please give me a call… and if not, i’d advise against going into crowded places for the next few days” withouting saying any other thing he walked toward the exit.
Sorry miss Hana, telling too much to someone i barely know is not an amateurish mistake i’ll ever make again.

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She wasn't sure where this conversation was going and what she had to think about it, at this point it was just too vague to understand. She did not want to make assumptions but she was sure she was already doing that. She did not completely agree with him telling her that he said he did not call them inhuman, did he not technically? Considering his research idea was just using them. No matter how much she hated that Bucket and Thundershock there must be other ways to get the information they needed and she looked shortly at her bump, she had had ideas before their little one showed up and she had to cancel that. She did not want to think that people with just quirks were more dangerous than people without, previous wars showed that before, there was maybe a difference that one person possessed a lot of power but the person who had the button for nuclear weapons was just the same, right?
She did not want to doubt herself.
She eyed him, did she scare him off that quickly that he already would leave? She took a sip of her own juice again, almost coughing as his sudden smile surprised her. She was sure she had seen it, albeit it was gone in the blink of an eye and she just took another sip, as if she had seen nothing strange. She ought to be used by a lot of things already lately. She took his card out of politeness, she wasn't sure what to think about the not having a choice, did that exactly not turn them into lab-rats? Thinking about the Semper Fi footage that she had seen months ago made her shiver, but she blamed it for now on the cold drink in front of her. "Thank you." She was sure that they were on the opposite side but she was surely interested in what he would do and what he meant with his last words but that would have to weight, she had a pregnancy to endure first.
