It was always interesting to see what sort of shady grunt work there was to do in a big city like Tokyo. With the advent of quirk using criminals, the variety of different criminal syndicates and drug pushers was overwhelming. Even a nobody like Arthur had a wide selection of employers to choose from, though these employers were almost always low level organizations and distributors. He didn’t mind working for these types of people of course, as they provided him with decent enough pay and a safe environment to gain experience and practice his abilities. Given his current lack of strength he felt it best to continue doing grunt work for some small time groups he had formed connections with. He had been made aware that the group was looking to break out of their current situation and advance themselves in the criminal underworld by distributing some form of research chemical for a larger organization. The only thing that mattered to Arthur was that he needed to guard some drug pushers and that he was going to get paid a decent sum for this. The chance of there being a confrontation was low of course given the small stature of the group and their lack of enemies, but their lack of experience with sort of activity also left many openings in information that could be exploited by anyone who cared enough to check.
Arthur himself was one of three bodyguards assigned to the man that was going to be carrying the drugs. He wasn’t aware of the names or capabilities of either of the other guards and he didn’t really care to know them anyways. It was obvious to Arthur that he wasn’t very strong compared to many people in the underworld, but something gave him the feeling that these two were much lower on the totem pole than he was. It seemed as though they were some sort of budget option and that he had ended up being the most competent person there, with the drug pusher having no combat capabilities of his own. He kind of hoped there wouldn’t be any conflict on the way to this deal, as the lack of competent backup made him a bit anxious for his own safety. It was too late to back out now of course, as they were going to be making their way to the nondescript car at any second now.
As it was supposed to be a low profile mission, Arthur went out of his way to keep his clothing a bit toned town, wearing some brown boots, blue chinos, and a white oxford shirt with rolled up sleeves. He was just an average joe going out with the boys to get a drink or something. The other three were dressed in a similar fashion. Arthur and one other guard were going to be sitting in the back seat, one guard would be a driver, and the drug pusher was going to be in the passenger seat. A low scale operation like this was pretty lax on the security detail, but all Arthur wanted to do was get this over with. According to one of the schmucks of the group, the best time for them to get this drug deal done was around the evening, so their car made its way to some of the sketchier parts of Tokyo before stopping at what seemed to be an average dirt paved alley, away from the eyes of the street. The alley was littered in all sorts of trash, broken bottles, needles, and the usual assortment of things one might find in that sort of environment. It seemed as though they were at their meeting spot, and after they had gotten out of the car, all they had to do was wait for the prospective buyer to show up. Arthur made sure keep himself aware of his surroundings, but given the slowly fading light of the setting sun, it was getting harder and harder to see. As a bit of assurance he made sure to make himself aware of all sources of glass around him, such as the six large windows of the building to the right of the alley entrance, well within range of his quirk. “Hopefully this loser shows up quickly before any sketchy shit starts to happen.”, he thought as he leaned his back against the car and scanned the environment around him.
