sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
Music night marched on, and after some classical freshening up from Rowan and Ryuusei, had quite the fun back end planned! Starting off the last few performances of music night would be a simple performance, to prep people for the more exciting and interesting finishers, but Delta hoped it would be a performance the crowd enjoyed nonetheless. This particular performer had promised to give their heart, as everyone else thus far had - for better or worse - so Delta was looking forward to seeing what this stranger had to offer! Jack Orion was his name, and the draconian lad would have to do his best to please a crowd with already high expectations. With whatever he needed set up on the stage beforehand, Delta would once again take hold of the mic to announce the next act, in a routine the audience was well used to by now. ”Alright, my dears, don’t start feeling asleep anytime soon! It’s been a long night, but our last few acts are still ready to keep all you lovelies entertained~” Delta declared, gesturing greatly and stepping aside as she ushered Jack onto stage. ”So, without further ado, let me introduce our next act! Here to set us on course to bring things home with our final acts, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Jack Orion!” Dear performer, this act is now in your hands!- The performer will post after this introductory post, to begin their performance - From there, they will give a window for spectators to post (i.e. 48 hours) after which the performer is expected to post again! - This repeats until the performance is done! - Dear performers, please, choose a posting window that suits your own posting habits - aim to complete this performance in ~2 weeks, 3 max. - And most importantly... Have fun!0000 WORDS |

Jack felt surprisingly unprepared for something admittedly simple.
He stood on the side of the stage, a simple acoustic guitar in his hands. He shook with anxiety, having watched the rest of the performers from the previous group. He felt admittedly inferior to them, so the thought of being one of the final people to go added a bit of pressure. While he had been practicing a lot with it, trying to do so while also juggling his classes and training yielded...rather mediocre results.
Despite that, though, he was determined to get better at this. Even if the people hated his performance...he had to try. Part of the journey was the beginning, and this was his. At least, in the music department. He started to take deep breaths, trying to psyche himself up. His tail swished around in anxiety, despite his best efforts to keep it still.
As he was then called up to stage, Jack flinched in surprise. He gulped, visibly shaking as he started to walk up on the stage. He quickly made his way to the microphone, forcing himself to make eye contact with the crowd for a moment. He gulped, clearly nervous, but tried to steel his nerves. He already knew well what he was going to sing; it was just a matter of gettting started.
”I, uh...I apologize in advance if my guitar playing isn’t the greatest. I’m better at singing more than anything, heh…” he said, feeling that it would be polite not to get the crowd’s hopes up too much. With that, however, he took a deep breath, and began to play.
True to what he said, Jack’s guitar playing was nowhere near spectacular, him making a small mistake rather often. However, his singing, hopefully, made up for it. While he was still clearly a beginner, he sang softly and smoothly. ”Just sleep...just dream...just sleep...just dreaaaam…”[/i]
Admittedly, this song had a bit of extra meaning to him personally; and hopefully to those who shared his experiences. To him, he sang of the pain that he faced during his childhood, wrought with prejudice and misjudging. However, due to more recent experiences, he focused more on how other people may have also faced these problems, so he sung what came to mind. Leaving behind his home, how who he was wasn’t his fault…
So, hopefully, it resonated with at least half of U.A.

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Hanako, being here all night, had seen a lot, it would be the distraction, it would be her hope of forgetting and after the first act of the second round, she was afraid that the nervous little ball of... dragon? would at least not puke on the stage as well as the flutist had done, that would make her own sensitive stomach make another somersault and she was sure she could not handle that at the moment. But this boy, he seemed younger than the other one, seemed to hold himself more together, no puking and Hanako really appreciated that. He still looked a little shaken and the fact that he apologized for his guitar playing made her frown a little and she quickly scribbled some words down before looking up as he started to play, now she wasn't an expert in music stuff but as long as it did sound fine, she was okay with everything and it did sound okay, so she simply nodded along and listened to his voice and the text, only because of the circumstances did she not like it. The text that is. She had again to resist the urge to look around her, this time it was no romance song that distracted her, it was the idea of just nightmares, she had no nightmares but she knew G did, would he have them again? She did not want to think about it and sat up straight, noted a few words, and continued to write on her phone little snips and pieces that she wanted to use later but right now, she would just listen, that was the best she could do after all. So once done writing, her eyes simply stayed firmly on the stage, it surely was an interesting view, she could not hide her curiosity for quirks after all.

So many wonderful performances Kenshin had the pleasure to listen to. And it was time to move to the next one. Upon seeing that acoustic guitar in Jack's hand, Kenshin immediately became excited. Though the boy's favorite instrument was naturally the bass, he did love the sweet sound that a guitar could make. Needless to say that Kenshin was looking forward to this one. Upon hearing Jack apologize in advance, Kenshin immediately felt bad for the guy. It was clear that he was nervous. It was completely understandable in this situation. Still, Kenshin had faith that Jack's performance would go well once the guy was able to relax a bit and start playing. And just like that, Kenshin's faith in the performer was proven to not be misplaced. It was clear that he was a beginner when it came to the guitar, but that did not stop it from sounding good. And damn, that singing! Maybe some would say that Jack's singing made up for his lackluster guitar playing, but that's not how Kenshin saw it. In his view, Jack's already good guitar playing was complimented by his even better singing. Once the song was over, Kenshin clapped loudly. "Woo! Keep it up, man!" Normally, the boy was not really one to shout aloud during performances, but he wanted to let the guy know that he did well. Kenshin could not wait to listen to whatever came next. @tagged | Word count: 238

G listened to this performance. And he was much more respectful towards this person. Heck, G even liked the song, although he would've prefered if it wasnt an acoustic thing. Though maybe if it was metal, he wouldnt have liked it as well. Maybe it was the lyrics that were just meh, or the melody. Now, if this kid sang about something mangled, then G would like it "... I might be sick in the head" G thought to himself for a moment, since he thought a song about something mangled would be better. But then he shrugged it off as "Maybe Im a fan of death metal. Who knew" he thought
G then looked towards the direction where he thought he heard Kenshins voice. He scratched his head as he didnt know Kenshin was here... No wait, G remembered. Kenshin performed. G just blacked out there for a moment "How many shows did I miss?" he wondered, and then looked at the stage and thought "Not enough.... unless I skipped Miku. Oh no! Now that is a nightmare!" G continued his internal monologue as he was worried that he might have missed the entire reason he came here to this awkwardness.

The previous performers were in Karen's opinion a very tough act to follow. Classical music stood the test of time for a reason and judging things from a purely technical aspect she would have to mark the violin and piano duo as her favorite. Of course there was more to music to that. Like any other media different things derived enjoyment aside from just purely skill. The next performer would catch karen's attention because they once again didn't use any stage names. It was Class 1-A's very own Jack Orion and like Graham before him, Karen would be very interested in seeing what a classmate could do. They were back to solo acts again and Karen watched as Jack walked up on the stage all on his lonesome save for his guitar. It was like deja vu from an earlier performance seeing Jack visibly nervous as his turn came up. To cap it all of he even apologized on the mic which she found just sad. She could understand that he was feeling a lot of pressure right now but it wasn't really proper to tell your audience something like that. Unless it was a set up for some kind of joke or icebreaker. It wasn't the kind of mood you would want to set right before a performance. In this case Kaz probably handled his nervousness much better. As he played, Jack would turn out to be right however. His singing was definitely much better than his playing. But it begged the question just how much of this was a self-fulfilled prophecy. That said he picked quite an emotional song. So if he wanted to capitalize on his voice and projecting his emotions, then it was not a bad choice at all. It made her wonder if there was anything particularly significant about it. Earlier in the night there was another emotionally driven performance that really caught Karen's attention so it wasn't weird that someone else thought of the same. This one was a more somber mood however. In someways it suited him even though Karen didn't have enough pieces to piece together how much it did. She wondered if Jack would continue with the same type of songs for the rest of his performance. If he could swing the mood of the club in his favor, he might just ut up one of the more memorable acts tonight. She was curious to see if he could succeed.
