sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
The second group was definitely a weirder bunch compared to the first, that much was certain. From a man in a mask playing the flute who called himself The Legendary Recoil, on now to a boy who’s selected the stage name “The Chronicler”, it looked like quite a colourful cast. At least Delta couldn’t say they weren’t entertaining, as even the whacker sides of the bar were something she adored. Things were going to go a bit of a different direction this performance, however… Not necessarily less entertaining, but not so much purposeful with its entertainment! Unaware of what was to come, Delta took the stage once again, grabbing the audience’s attention with her impressive presence. ”The night continues on, ladies and gentlemen, and now we come to another unique performance!” Unique was definitely one way of putting it, Delta would realise later. For now, she remained gleeful and excited, gesticulating with enthusiasm as she introduced the next performance of the night. ”A freestyle rap from a retro name, a fantastical performance from a fantasy inspiration, given to you now by… The Chronicler!” Delta made way to let Kazu onto the stage, in the beginning of what was definitely going to go down as one of the night’s stranger performances... Dear performer, this act is now in your hands!- The performer will post after this introductory post, to begin their performance - From there, they will give a window for spectators to post (i.e. 48 hours) after which the performer is expected to post again! - This repeats until the performance is done! - Dear performers, please, choose a posting window that suits your own posting habits - aim to complete this performance in ~2 weeks, 3 max. - And most importantly... Have fun!0000 WORDS |

Alright then. This was the time. This was the time to prove to everyone around me that I got what many would consider a 'gift' in music. Although this was a weird thing to name it. Freestyle Rap? Why would I even do something like that? Why would I ridicule myself with the idea and notion that I'm a rapper? Rap music is nothing more than a horrible stigma that befalls all those who have honest souls and hearts and who just wanna lay down a sick beat, why do they gotta stick labels onto it?Actually...what the hell IS he gonna do other than rap?! Throughout the whole time, Kazu has been nonstop thinking about what exactly he was supposed to do here. Was he supposed to tell everyone a real heartfelt speech? No! Like come on man, that was like his personal diary! The only times he has read out of it was whenever he was alone in his room...with Hanemi and his mother on the opposite side of the door, or whenever Red pops in the dorm room without announcement. Will he use his scribbles from the notebook he brought along? He takes a quick glance at it. All that was written on is BACK TO BACK and other random phrases. He frowns a little. So much for that area. Can he use his inspirational observation skills to determine the mood of the club and use that as a muse? Perhaps. Kaz gazes around as he heads forward to the spotlight It's amazing how time goes by slow when you're about to do something. As he heads to the stage, he could feel that several people were staring at him, waiting for the show to begin. Some of their eyes had the view of "So what does he do again? to "oh this is going to be fun" to "hey its you~!" But the people that he focused on the most were his family. Also Red and his weird sister but they don't count right now. His sister Hanemi glares at him with a sort of sad smirk as if she was sympathizing with the poor kid to forcing himself to get up here. Why did he force himself to sign up anyway? He was already comfortable with speaking out loud to the public where ever he went to, this should be as simple as a piece of pie! So why is it that he suddenly feels nervous. Hanemi continues to stare at them, then for once in her life (not really, but still) she gives off a genuine encouraging smile. For once (again, not really but STILL) she's rooting for him. Kaz would take this small gesture of familar love into memory but he's too busy freaking out in his mind, as his eyes start jittering around and about. He then looks at his mom and- oh no wait she's stil-she's still on her phone, Thanks mom. Whatever, she's actually working so she has an excuse to not pay attention..yeah that-that's the reason. Kaz lets out a small smile and shakes his head as he continues to head towards the stage. He couldn't help himself however, be distracted by a waiter and Red chatting with each other. Red was an odd one, on one hand he hasn't really been the most vocal fan of hearing him constantly practice in the morning. In fact, he'll probably even be more annoyed to find out that he won't even use those practice speeches at all. Although, with how he acted to him due to the question involving Elise and her missing girlfriend, he'll use any excuse to be annoyed at Kaz...still weird though. Speaking of which, what are they do- Oh. Huh...oooooooooooh, sheeeeeeee was the girlfriend….yeah no that makes more sense, honestly...yeah he's gonna have to apologize to Red about that mistake. After this performance, of course...oh no, after this performance. Oh god he has no idea what he's going to do for his performance! Is ther..is there like some sort of way he can back down? Anyone? Hello? Kaz finally stands among the stage, staring at the audience awaint for his answer. Kaz nods, and quietly looks down to the feet. Is there anything, ANYTHING he can do to entertain them...perhaps even a...no he can't. After what he said before about it, he can't turn his back on his pride and immediately go that route...but is there any other choice? Must he do this forbidden crime...does he even have a choice? Taking a huge breath, he readies himself. In his mind, time has once again slowed down. He needs these seconds to prepare himself for this crime against his very nature as an proper act-Chronicler, against the very essence as the chronicler of the world. He closes his eyes...then quickly turns on his phone and plays a backbeat. He readies himself, then, to the tune of this song, he speaks: Chosen, Doze-en Supportness Go eat some morales-sus Orifices, Porridges Morpheus, Morpheus
Going to the Buffet and Walruses Confidence, Corpseses Worcestershire sauce Go into your orifices
Chosen one, choken bronze, Drophieus, Drawfious going down the store to get some performance wands!
He does a small twirl, clearly going full in and knowing that he has fully been defeated mentally. To many people this would be embarrassing, to others it would be sign of their bravery. To Kaz...yup. This is...man thi-this sucks, man. As he readies the final line for his misery, however, something in the air changed. Or perhaps it was the music being stopped and being set up for the next one perhaps? No matter, let's just get this over with. Kaz closes his eyes as he forces a grin. Someone help him now. Chosen one sipping in a death basket, F-As luck would have it, however, his performance will not end in utter failure. Some may call it a miracle. Others...an omen. And yet, one cannot deny that this performance will at the very least be..memorable. After all, if a flying drop kick to the head knocking him off stage can't count as memorable, then nothing else is. A slightly inhibited Red (clearly drunk from the atmosphere, not because he was grabbing his sister's drinks) stares at Kaz and then stares at the audience. As he grabs the microphone, the audience stares in suspense and utter confusion. What he would do next would be legendary....maybe. Kaz doesn't know, he's currently on the ground having been kicked in the head, thank you very much.

After her performance, Chiyuri wasn't going anywhere, so she decided to watch some of the other acts strut their stuff on the stage. Unfortunately there seemed to be an overwhelming amount of kids, mostly from the hero school in Mustafu. But there was one which caught her attention – a freestyle rap performance, from a kid who called himself 'The Chronicler', which sounded like a decent stage name for someone that young. She eagerly awaited his show, to see someone possibly spit some halfway decent bars. As Delta announced him to come up, she was met with mixed feelings upon seeing the young lad.
He looked pretty scared, a lot of stage fright for someone who was supposedly gonna raise the roof with a banger, or maybe lay some interesting lyricism. Chiyuri also took notice that he was obviously way in over his head, what with the weird-ass get up and... sleep blindfold he was wearing. Weird combo, but it was different. Also, the backing track being played through a phone was kinda bad form, slowly but surely reaching the back of the venue. It wasn't a bad beat by any means, but was kinda basic for a rap. Nevertheless, maybe she'd be wowed by his talent, see where it would go.
And then he started.
It would have taken a payment of over four hundred thousand billion yen for Chiyuri to not laugh during this 'freestyle'. Almost as soon as he started, you could hear a gut very clearly being busted, as the DJ fell off her bar chair onto the floor, clutching her stomach in pure hysterical laughter. But yet she continued to watch, seeing him spitting a more terrible bar than the last each time sending her further into the depths of laughter. “Man, I can't- I mean- this is-” she said, barely formulating a cohesive statement since she was so amazed by the anti-quality of this kid. It almost felt like The Chronicler had looped around to being a lyrical genius, the thought of which put Chiyuri through pretty much every emotion at once.
But that wasn't even the end, as after he'd finished, a sudden crash and the microphone falling to the floor made it seem as though he'd been tackled off stage or something, which made her laugh even more, so much so she couldn't see what happened due to the overwhelming tears in her eyes. What awaited Chiyuri she didn't know, but she got her money's worth doing this gig. Hell, she didn't even care if she won anymore, that deserved 1st place.

Red was, for lack of a better word, dreading what was about to happen. You see, He knew two things about Kaz. The first, and easiest, was that his performance was going to be TERRIBLE. He'd been subjected to the thing for the past few days, and every draft somehow got worse and worse. The second, was that he had come up with NO PLAN to save his ass should he need too....oh who was he kidding, he'd absolutly have to. The problem was he'd been goofing off with everyone too much and making sure his sister didnt get too tipsy....he'd swiped a couple of her drinks, sure, but it was for her own good right? Besides, despite having never touched booze before he was surprising still relativly sober...whether that was because of his constitution, the fact the drinks werent that strong or it was still setting in was yet to be established. Speaking of his sister, both of them were currently at the bar, just chatting shit at eachother like siblings do, not really paying attention to what was happening around them. As each performance went on, they barely paid attention to them, getting too into their dumb bullshit conversations...not to say that the performances were bad persay, just that these two idiots were too busy to listen. Unfortunatly for Red, this led to a couple issues: The first was that he lost track of time, so by the time he got back to his seat at Kaz's table, most of the acts for the night had already performed, and since he hadnt actually listened to most of em he didnt have much to say on the topic....which was bad when Kaz's sister would ask his opinions on everything....he just gave default, basic answers that were hopefully fool proof. The second was the more disastrous one. Due to losing track of time, he hadnt realised that Kaz's performance was up next, so when the well dressed host introduced the next act, His eyes widened in a very clear OH FUCK way. His shock made him slow to react, so by the time he looked at Kaz the kid was already heading to the stage.....and he did not look good. You can tell a lot about a guy from the way he walks, and Kaz was currently marching towards the stage looking like he was about to have his head chopped off. Fuck...Ok think, dumbass, what can you do to possibly help the guy out? You know he's gonna embarrass himself, so what the fuck can we do to mitigate that? His mind started to calculate, the pressure of the situation causing it to work in overdrive, as he finally came to the conclusion of.....he needed to save it by getting on stage. As Kaz looks back at his own sister giving him a rather encouraging smile, Red does the same, although a lot more shaky with a thumbs up...once his back was turned he'd put his plan into action.
He'd turn to Nemi, say "I got a plan, just trust me" while walking to the bar. All he needed to do was find someone who worked there and let em know what was about to happen. Luckily, there was a Red haired dude who looked like he worked at the place close by, so Red just tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, listen...You know the next performance? it uhh...the guy on stage might get kicked off, but dont worry, its all part of the show, okay? Just wanted to let someone know is all." He'd finish, hoping the guy understood what he meant before he went back to his sister, grabbed her drink, gulped it down like he was about to have his leg cut off, and asked her for a favour. Whilst Kaz was busy panicking on stage, trying to think of what to do, Red was using whatever time he had to come up with something. He'd "Borrowed" an Amp from the back, and was currently trying to figure out how to hook everything up right and decide on a song. He was arguing with his sister about that when the worst happened.....Kaz started his performance."Oh fuck it, just put something on and i'll improvise" He told Blake before he ran towards the stage, intent on stopping Kaz from embarrassing himself even more....cause goddamn, what he was doing was making Red feel the highest levels of cringe a man could feel. As he can, he took a look around at the crowds reactions....and it wanst looking good for Kaz. If people werent laughing, they were looking at the kid with a look of utter confusion, baffled that this kid thought what he was doing was entertaining. Red had to give it to Kaz, atleast he was going all in on the act, clearly seeing doing dumb shit as his only option right now. He looked back at Kaz's family, who at this point were either not paying attention Cause his mums a bitch or nervously smiling at him, trying to not show that she was dying inside. Man, she is really supportive of her brother. He thought, as he hit the steps of the stage. He had to get Kaz off somehow, the kid was twirling around like his life depended on it....so Red did something he was used to doing to his sister.
As Kaz started his final line, Red full on kicked off the top step, getting airborne and delivering a drop kick straight to Kaz's cranium. The mic was thrown into the air as the kid found himself on the floor, having gone off the stage due to the sheer force of the kick. Red landed on his feet, looking upon the sea that was the audience who were just shocked and confused over what they'd just witnessed. If this had been a normal evening, Red would probably be panicking just a little bit right now, as he'd come up here not knowing what the fuck he was going to do to save Kaz's performance. Luckily, thanks to his self sacrificing nature and the booze starting to set in, he could just bury any confidence issues he was having right about now, as the opening beats of a song that Red knew well started to play. Alchohol was one hell of a drug, after all....and he did tell Nemi that he'd look out for her brother, didnt he? He put as much soul as he could behind it, the booze and needed to cover for Kaz powering through this. His singing wasnt that bad either...sure, he wasnt a professional, but he wasnt fucking up royally like Kaz did. He held the mic at the top like a rapper, getting kind of hype as the song went on. He'd throw in an air guitar during the instrumentals, and moving his other arm around a lot...mostly to calm his nerves. He was going as hard as he could, his wind aura picking up speed as the song went on, mostly just to make sure that even if he wasnt doing good that he could atleast share the embarrassment that Kaz had generated. When the song ended, he was sweating bullets, out of breathe and really needed a drink....but he was still hype, if the audience wanted an encore he could probably do it.....with Kaz of course, Blake had dropped a mic by his feet during the whole thing, just in case. After sitting through and listening to a rather entertaining flute performance from Vomit Boy, A.K.A Recoil the Villain, Lukas was honestly looking forward to whatever else the night would bring his way. His meal had finally been brought out in the intermission between acts and he was eagerly digging in to the absolute feast of a mixed grill that sat before him, washing it down with large mouthfuls of the passable swill the Four Corners called Beer. He'd have to show them a thing or two, or on second thought maybe not. Wouldn't do to help the competition he though, laughing quietly to himself. From what he'd seen of the establishment so far, Mjølner would be fitting a different niche. Maybe they could even get some sort of scheme going between each business, or at least something to give him an excuse to come back here again and catch an eyeful of the feisty four-armed Ginger.
Speaking of, the woman in the red dress appeared back on stage once more and again the patrons quieted to a hush to let her speak. It seemed everyone tonight had a silly name for themselves, The Chronicler being the next performer, whatever the hell that meant Lukas didn't know. Though the mention of Rap brought a small groan from his lips, quite possibly a type of music that the Norwegian despised above all others. Hopefully it would just be over and done with as quickly as possible, Lukas could only hope that the next performance was of something more palatable. Things like this tended to happen when you opened up the stage to anyone with half a whim.
If Recoil had looked nervous, The Chronicler looked positively shell shocked standing up in front of the microphone. Even across such a crowded room Lukas could smell the sweat dripping off the young kid and from the look in his eyes his brain was trying to decide on a Fight or Flight response to the situation he had put himself in. The moments ticked by slowly with....nothing happening and Lukas could see some of the other patrons starting to get impatient. The Chronicler seemed to take one big breath before pulling out his....phone? A few seconds of fiddling around with it and then there was a back-beat playing, the phones limited speakers straining to fill the open room with sound. And then to make matters worse, the kid went and started singing.
Well that's not entirely accurate. Rapping isn't singing, Lukas didn't care what anyone said to the contrary, it just wasn't. That being said, Lukas could honestly say he didn't have words to describe exactly what it was that was streaming from the mouth of the self proclaimed Chronicler. Some part of his mind was telling Lukas what the words were and what they meant, but there was a dissonance between them and whatever meaning the Chronicler was trying to put to them. The less said about the tune the better. Other patrons were cringing or trying not to laugh, especially when the boy started dancing about the stage amidst the disaster. Rapid movement caught Lukas' eye and he turned to see what was happening. A blond haired boy no older than the performer broke out into a run before jumping and managing a flying drop kick to the performers head and back, stopping his rapping and knocking him prone, hard.
Silence reigned throughout the building as the attacker landed on his feet. It was broken by Lukas as he raised his drink, a loud cheer on his lips. It was the best thing he'd seen all night. A few nearby patrons joined in with him as they laughed together. A new song began playing, drowning out the pitiful tune still playing through the Chronicler's phone. The newcomer broke out into song himself, it seemed he was to be the savior for everyone's ears tonight. It couldn't be said that he lacked enthusiasm, the boy was putting what seemed like his entire being into belting out the chosen song.
Before long it was over and the crowd, once near falling asleep were now applauding enthusiastically to the newcomer, Lukas included. It hadn't been more rap so it was a damn sight better in Lukas' eyes. He'd spotted a young woman drop off a second microphone during the performance. If the Chronicler rejoined the fray then hopefully with the newcomers influence they could manage something more in line with the second act. Lukas waved over a server and asked for a second pitcher, depending on what came next he might just need it.

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ The first performance had surprised her in two ways, the vomit and in the end the way the flutist played but the second one topped that and it was good she made notes of everything, with performances like this, it was easy to forget what happened before that. The boy seemed to be holding it together a little better than that Recoil guy and she had respect for that, she did not like rap as she had already noticed from the previous performance but so she did not know what to think and just held up her phone, to make sure to write notes while paying attention. It took a rather long time before Hanako started to write something. In shock she stared at the boy and wondered which idiot had allowed him to sign up for music night, she had no idea what he was actually saying or if he was actually trying to get his point across or choking in words, she was perhaps in a rather foul mood if you would say that she would not be able to answer much about what she thought about it. That's until he got kicked of the stage... She quickly wrote down a few words to not let herself forget what happened, the chronicler, stage fall, no one there to catch him but technically wasn't he saved by the guy who now stood upon the stage, she looked around to see if the bar staff or Delta wasn't going to step in but she got a vague thumbs up from the red haired man that had actually gave her her drink, so all should be well, surprisingly. Was this part of the act? Was it all set up and would they sing or rap or whatever together after this one? Which wasn't her style but a hell of a lot better than what she heard before, it did however make her wonder about too many assumptions.

Post by Farrah di Prima on May 28, 2019 22:34:08 GMT -4
Excited to witness the rapping style of another of the UA students, Farrah found her way back to her seat with what was her fourth diet soda. Diet or not, it wasn't lacking in caffiene, and that meant she'd built up all the sugary buzz she needed for her own performance, and then some. She couldn't be more jazzed to see the poetry that lurked in the soul of a fellow classmate.
... Only, once things got going, even she was having a hard time putting a positive spin on the poetry, because there wasn't any. She watched the stage with interest, smiling wide, even as nothing at all happened. "Ah! Hm. Hm? What, what is it? Whatever is happening, I'm not sure I get it! This is high art, the type you don't understand! An unattainable meaning escapes my hands!" she thought to herself, reaching out as if to grasp the purpose of Kaz's silence. One less charitable might assume she was making a gesture to try and pull Kaz off the stage with some magic, magnetic force.
Finally, the part of the performance she understood began: singing! Well... "understood" was a pretty strong word. This song was so kooky it made her own seem downright sane and ordinary! That just made it all the more exciting for her, although, her face went a little red and she found herself looking between tables, to see if anyone else was having the same reaction. "Orifices? He can't sing about that! He's opened his belfry and let out the bats! That's a lewd topic! Saucy, to say! Can a hero student truly carry on that way?!"[/b] she thought to herself, feeling as though she were witnessing something naughty. Oddly, nobody in the room seemed less happy about it than the performer itself. "Mixing comedy and tragedy! Something about that grabs at me!"[/b] she thought excitedly, willing to delude herself for as long as she possibly could, either for the sake of her own mental image of Kaz as a dramatic inspired poet, or perhaps as a twisted form of kindness for the young man.
The DJ nearby seemed to be interpreting it as a comedy, falling out of her chair, literally, with laughter. Someone else took a far different approach: another young man rose out of the crowd, jumped on stage, and delivered a pro-wrestler's dropkick to the other. He looked drunk, but also, as though he'd imagined this very scenario playing out once before and practiced the maneuver in his head. It was all very confusing, but Farrah felt called to action, in order to save Kaz's amazing, avant-garde performance! She rose to her feet and began to build a bubble in her pursed lips, but then noticed the staff that Red had informed earlier, all trying to prevent other heroes from doing the same. Perhaps... it was part of the show."Physical comedy! I would not expect! And here for a moment I thought the whole show was wrecked. It's all just another part of this creative display! I shouldn't be in a hurry to join the fray," she spoke quietly to herself, as the dropkicking drunkard began jamming out to a song seemingly entirely unrelated to the poem she'd just heard.
A less charitable mind than Farrah, again, might be thinking that her own performance was going to look pretty darn good compared to the bizarre parade of performances that had so far made up group 2. Instead, Farrah was just wondering what other cherries they could possibly top this decadent spongecake of new-age, high-concept performance art with. She continued watching behind sunglasses as she took another big gulp of her diet cola.

Ah...jeez my head....wh-what just happened? W-Why am I on the ground?
It appears as if something or someone has knocked him off his feet. The young chronicler's eyes narrow as he comes back to the waking world after something appears to have drop-kicked him off the...off the sta....Did someone drop-kick him off the stage in the middle of his performance? While he was...embarrassing himself...in front of several people...including his family and friends and....oh dear. It took him a while to come back to his senses, but for a second he would have rather stay down off the stage and just...leave. This whole night has been such a disaster, and while he is a bit angry that someone has kicked him (rather hard in fact)...he's just glad that someone stopped him. If he were to thank the mysterious stranger who has performed the act, first he would...well first he would scold them for, oh I dunno, drop-kicking him off the stage! Yeah he's still a bit annoyed that he got drop-kicked! It was something that had to be done, but still man! But after that anger subsided, he would thank them profusely and owe them his social life (assuming he still had some). Speaking of the mysterious man...Kaz finally realizes what song is being played and who is currently on stage.
Why is Red singing, screaming his poor lungs off? Kaz is puzzled that the man who he was bothering daily with several rough drafts (that, at the end of the day were not used at all) is now currently singing his heart out to a small crowd. He seems to recall Red scoffing at the notion of joining him in this little performance...well it wasn't as much him scoffing but outright yelling "no" every time Kaz tried to bring up the idea to him. And yet now, with a slightly relaxed attitude he is delivering the best among the rest for zero sense...what a mess. Perhaps he is intoxicated with the atmosphere? It's not a strange idea, he has seen his mother once in a fancy party-pfffhahahhahaha nah, she was drunk from wine. No, the proper example would be Hanemi. In that same party who was acting more flimsy than usual, despite her actually not drinking. Like, he made sure that none of them (barring mom because...eh no one can stop her getting a glass during fancy parties) would drink alcohol accidentally, and he felt like he did a decent job at that. It just so happens that her being the social animal she is, she just...went a bit crazy and loose. Not too loose, but there was a lot more laughing out loud moments than usual. So maybe in this case, Red's case made him more relaxed to join in the fun.
Well, 'relaxed' is the wrong word to describe it. "Absolutely livid" is a more proper expression to use. There he was, screaming with a melodic tone the words to a band that he quite likes, if he were to be honest for a moment. He is always an avid listener to the art that is classical rick and hard rock and rock. Jazz has its role but it pales in comparison to Rock. So to see his roommate show that intense enjoyable in rock...it kinda seems nice...Still doesn't justify the whole drop-kick but hey, he picked out a great song to do it! Like why weren't the other performances like this. Hell, why wasn't HIS performance just this?! Why didn't he consider this field at all? Was he too obsessed with trying to shove in a gimmick that he lost the intention of this music night? To just relax and hang out? Jeez, Kazu, you really need to let up sometimes.
It's not like the audience's hating it either. Some are enjoying it, others are just glad that his small 'rap' ended (which, same here, man). More importantly...his family is enjoying it. Well, the only member that really mattered, but for a split second he could have sworn his mom let out a small smile at his (Red's) direction. It's hard to tell with her when she's in work mode. 'Nemi meanwhile is absolutely loving this, she couldn't believe that Red actually drop-kicked her own brother and then proceeded to blast out a butt rock song so casually. She's laughing up a riot, and it's not like a mocking laugh that he tends to think she does. It's more honest, if one were to explain it. Meanwhile, what appears to be Red's sister is shaking her head with a smirk as if she's familiar to this whole routine. More people are getting into the mood, and...so is he, honestly. There's a fire burning in his heart to join on stage...but...well...hrm.
Well, first of all, he was kicked off stage. Not quite sure what that means rule-wise, but presumably that's a big no-no in the entertainment biz. You don't expect your performer to just...stop in the middle of their song or play because some random heckler/audience member/fan tackled or kicked them. Second of all...he was HORRIBLE! That rap was like super awful! Even the previous performances' raps were so much better! Li-like come on, if he gets back on stage he'll just be boo'ed off the building! It's just plain awkward! M-maybe if he, just...Huh?
A lady passes by, and Kaz looks at her, then looks down on his feet. A mic was placed near Kaz's reach, as if he was being invited to join in. The song was ending, and at this point Red was sweating down a river. It's almost like there's an..encore coming up. But Red can't do this by himself, he's way too tired to carry it on his own. Even the right song energizing him isn't enough. It's clear to him that he has to do something. With the determined glare on Red's face, Kaz sighs and gives off a small smirk as he picks up the mic and stumbles back on stage, the next song about to play.
Staring at Red, then at the audience (mainly to his sister and mom), the music shifts into a new song, as if it were on shuffle. A slow start up, and an intense guitar rift, felt very familiar to him. It's a song that's like an old friend coming back from a long trip. He knows this song. Oh yeah...
He knows this song, alright.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaallllriiiiiiiiiiiiiigh!" he screamed into the mic.
How long has it been since he heard this song? Like...3 years? Why did he stop listening to it again? With how much he and Red are enjoying just screaming this out loud, it's a weird thing that he just stopped. The two just kept at it, with no stop in sight. It was...it was far more better than that dumb stupid rap he did in the first place. This was far better. Two guys, one butt rock song, in what was basically karaoke night. Call it dumb, call it stupid, call it cringey...to Kaz and Red this was the peak of entertainment. And to some of the audience...that was enough.
It was enough for Kazu, at least.
Still won't stop Red from literally dragging him out of Fourth Corner with his family following him, though.

Alright, time to see the next performance! Kenshin was having a fun time watching the others perform, and he was not about to stop any time soon. As the next act was introduced on stage, Kenshin stared with curiosity. The Chronicler, huh? What could he expect to see from this performance? Well whatever it was that the boy expected, it clearly wasn't ...this. Things started off quite curiously. A freestyle rap, or whatever it was. Kenshin just stared blankly. O...kay then? At least this guy was unique. Kenshin would give him that. Kenshin felt horrible for thinking this, because he knew or at least guessed that The Chronicler was trying his best, but this was just bad. Still, it was not terrible. More like the so bad it's good kind of deal. And of course, things would only get better. From out of nowhere, the performer was kicked off the stage. Literally kicked off stage. Kenshin knew that this should not be funny, that he should not be laughing. But of course he could not help but laugh anyway. This was hilarious! Was this part of the act? Because if not, this was very good improv right here. Massive props. And if it was part of the act, then this definitely helped make it memorable. Then the newcomer took the mic and began to sing. And Kenshin was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Once it was over, Kenshin clapped loudly. And to his relief, the guy who was kicked off stage was getting back up to deliver an encore. And upon hearing it start, Kenshin's eyes widened. Oh shit, I LOVE THIS SONG! The boy could not help but smile as he listened. Definitely an awesome performance. I can't wait to see what else you have in store, Chronicler.@tagged | Word count: 301
Notes: Unexpectedly hilarious and awesome. Keep it up!

If Karen had to be honest, she wasn't too familiar with rap and what made it good or bad. But seeing another fellow UA student go up on stage piqued interest especially since this was someone she actually knew at last by name a face. They had not officially met in person just yet but she had heard quite a bit about Kaz from a few people, Red being the most prominent. Karen had spotted him earlier in the evening but didn't say hello as she was still trying to stay incognito. To say that Kaz looked nervous up there might have been an understatement. From what she could see he was quite in the state of panic. Though whether it was simply because of nerves or some other trouble she would never know. He proceeded with his performance either way and Karen could only base her reaction on how everyone else reacted. In simplest terms, it wasn't very good and was enough to elicit a lot of laughing. Unless that was the main point? Again she didn't really get rap too much and so eve though the lyrics were weird for lack of better term, she simply assumed that was just the way it was. What tipped her off to its terribleness was how the beat and rhythm didn't feel right. She could at least tell something like that. In the end there wasn't much point to thinking too much about it. Before anyone knew it an invader had stepped onto the stage and knocked Kaz off with a drop kick. Was this part of the performance? In any case it was the familiar upperclassman himself. Though she didn't remember the host saying this was a two-man show. Rather than a rap however Red was going in with a song and the mood around the bar changed almost immediately. He wasn't bad. It wasn't the most amazing thing and it certainly sounded amateurish, but Red was putting a lot of energy into that song and really getting into it. Karen could appreciate that, though at the back of her head she was thinking that the upperclassman stole the show from the one standing there earlier. If this was all planned, it wasn't very cool of him to use Kaz just like that. As the song ended and the next one began, Karen would suddenly here a second voice shouting into a mic. Kaz was finally back. And this time they were doing a duet? Now this was interesting. They may have had a rough start but singing this song together Karen finally felt that they had gotten into a groove. They weren't winning any contests but it was uplifting seeing two guys just having fun on stage. You could almost say they were best friends, though she was sure at least one of them would never admit it. Were they done or were they doing another? They had her attention now so it would be great to see if they had anything more. She could appreciate the energy.

As he finished the song, Red was exhausted. He'd sobered up a bit now, probably thanks to all the sweating he'd done whilst banging out the lyrics while constantly moving. He could thank god for his wind aura atleast, it was A) Wiping most of it away for him and B) Keeping him nice and cool right now....it was very fucking refreshing, to say the least. He wasnt exactly fooling anyone that he was fine though, cause he was breathing HARD. He looked over the sea that was the audience, prepared to get laughed off stage, have people booing him or stuff thrown at him, maybe tackled off stage now that the "performance" was over. But Nay, he was greeted with some applause. And cheering. Red was confused, had he actually managed to not embarrass himself? He had a very puzzled look on his face for a second, looking over at how the crowd seemed to be reacting. One dude, who looked like he was almost 30 but rockin the look was leading the rounds of applause. a Reporter? Looking lady just looked confused, but other wise entertained. As for Kaz's family? Well, he couldnt tell what his mother thought, except that he might be safe from any motherly retaliation...either because she didnt care about her son or hadnt been paying attention. He could have sworn he saw a faint smile but he bet he was bloody seeing things, after all she's a stone cold bitch in his mind. As for Nemi, she seemed to be enjoying herself, considering she was laughing her ass off, and his own sister was just shaking her head at him whilst smirking. You know, the cliche "You fuckin idiot" type of reaction.Everyone else was either joining in with the applause or waiting to see what came next....which now that Red thought about it, he didnt have anything else planned after this. Every other performance had had atleast a couple songs in their repitiore, as to not seem like one hit wonders or something. Which posed a problem for the man who had just drop kicked his room mate off stage and improvised this entire "performance". He also, really wasnt in a state to perform again, atleast not at the same energy levels he'd just hit. Sure, he could just lame it out from here, but that would probably ruin this whole thing, so it'd be all for nothing. Besides, it wasnt like his sister would actually play anything else, right? Unfortunatly for Red, he had forgotten one cruical fact about his sister: If there was an oppourtunity to fuck with him, she'd take it no questions asked. Which was probably why he could hear the slow build up of another song in his ears. He looked to the amp they'd "Borrowed", and saw his sister standing there, with a shit eating grin on her face. Outwardly, he took a long, deep breathe, seemingly preparing himself for what he was about to belt out with a brave face. Inwardly, he was crying and panicking. BLAKE YOU BITCH COME ON WHY YOU GOTTA DO THIS NOW? He'd complain in his mind, knowing full well he was either about to A) Pass out or B) Break his voice box by trying to reach a similar energy level to earlier. Atleast the song was a bit slower in tempo, so he had time to catch his breath. He didnt like his chances of getting through this ok, but he had to atleast try. Luckily for him though....he wouldnt be alone.
As the first word of the song came up, Red took another deep breath, ready to once again surrender his soul to the stage, when he heard a familar voice scream into a seperate mic, actually in tune for once. Reds eyes widened for a second, as he looked at Kaz, who instead of running away to his family and leaving, had decided to get back on stage and join in. Wait where the fuck did he get a mi---oh, Blake probably have him one....you beautiful bastard. He'd thank her in his mind, as he let Kaz take the reins on this one. Red was the back up here, and he wasnt just going to steal Kaz's show now that he was back on stage, and actually doing decently well. Plus, being the back up vocalist had one extra benefit: Red could signal his sister to plan their escape.
The entire way through the song, whilst Kaz was belting out the lyrics, Red was sending subtle signals to his sister with a very simple message: "Get Ready to get the fuck outta here." With subtle looks and head nods in Kaz's familys direction. He watched as she explained the situation to Nemi and the bitch, and got the A-OK Signal from both Nemi and Blake. About thirty seconds before the song ended, Red would wrap his arm around Kaz's shoulder. To most of the audience, this would probably look like a nice gesture of comradidre or something. But in truth, it was to make sure that Red could get Kaz off stage in a timely manner, even if he had to drag him. As they were belting out the closing lyrics, Red would start pulling Kaz toward the edge of the stage, with his eyes looking toward the door.
And then, when the final riff started....he ran. Luckily the stage wasnt too far from the door, and they had a straight shot to it, thanks to the table setup and his sister very casually holding the door open. So with Kaz in tow, flailing wildly behind him, as both their mics were left on stage, They exited the fourth corner like they had just robbed the place. As soon as he was outside Red activated his skates, turned right and just booked it for a couple minutes til he found a convinence store close by, and dropped the kid on the pavement while he headed inside to buy a couple of MUCH needed drinks. Reds throat was on the verge of bleeding at this point, and the sweet necter of a bottle of juice was a godsend. He'd bought Kaz a can of soda too, and tossed it to him as he exited the store.
As they both sat there, on the edge of the pavement, He'd only say one thing to the guy: "Kaz...for the love of god, never make me have to bloody do that again" He'd tell him whilst very clearly out of breath....with a tone that signalled slight annoyance, but also trying to hide the fact that the whole ordeal was actually kinda fun, to be perfectly honest. Once Kaz's Family showed up to take him home or just pick him or something, Red would make his exit, heading back to the bar....He needed to apologise to a few people and probably give that amp he nick---i mean "Borrowed" from the back. As he passed Nemi though, he'd shoot her a wink as a "Dont Mention it" Or something like that, not really intending to mean anything by it. He didnt say anything to Kaz's mum.Word Count: 1202
