sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
Delta’s heart had been pounding all night, and it wasn’t going to stop anytime soon. After all, how could she have known things would be going so well! Heartfelt love songs, masterful mixing, a quintessential quartet, smooth-as-butter bass and sweet-as-sugar sax, it had all been a wonderful display thus far, and the night was only halfway done! The first group had raised the bar, so now, it was up to the second to keep the hype going, to meet the amazing expectations set! So, starting off group 2’s follow up, would naturally have to be something a bit different to keep people excited. A masked man playing the flute sounded like about the right way to do that. After a brief intermission in which people mingled and drank, and the next group prepared, Delta would approach the stage once more, looking beautiful as ever in that sensual red dress of hers, with a beaming and genuine smile that told the crowd she was enjoying the show just as much as they were. She was enjoying making this place everything he would’ve wanted it to be. ”Hello, hello ladies and gentlemen! It’s time for the second group to begin!” Pause for applause, as the crowd, excited and intoxicated as ever, anticipated what the bartender had in store for them next. ”Now, in our first lot, we had quite a bit of brass, so to freshen your palette, allow me to introduce one the night’s woodwind performances instead~ A fabulous flutist!” That was his cue to be ready to come on stage, as Delta capped off her introduction to the opening act of the 2nd group! ”Ladies and Gentlemen, please give a warm welcome the masked maestro, the one to put us back in gear, the Legendary Recoil!”Delta stepped aside, leaving the stage for Recoil to take, and hopefully live up to his self-granted title! Dear performer, this act is now in your hands!- The performer will post after this introductory post, to begin their performance - From there, they will give a window for spectators to post (i.e. 48 hours) after which the performer is expected to post again! - This repeats until the performance is done! - Dear performers, please, choose a posting window that suits your own posting habits - aim to complete this performance in ~2 weeks, 3 max. - And most importantly... Have fun!0000 WORDS |

Matthew stood nervously stammering, he originally sat but eventually his legs fidgeted too much causing him to stand back and attempt to coolly lean back against the table, nearly falling over in the process, eventually by the second performance he had finally started to slowly feel his nerves calm and was able to get at least some enjoyment out of the performances.
For just a moment Matthew didn't feel the weight of stares or judgement, instead he was allowed to enjoy the moment, forgetting that son he'd be the one on the stage. At first he just bobbed his head a little, but by the saxophone he shed a tear at how beautiful it was... That was till he realized he was up next, then it stopped being beautiful. He let out a gulp when he was called up, panicking for a moment before remembering he had... Signed up for this... Oh dear... He looked down at the mask in his pocket but then lifted his head up looking toward the number 1 vigilante hidden away in the crowd, if he put on his mask here he'd leave in chains.
His stomach started to turn, he knew what he needed to do and he dreaded it. For a second he turned to Yuuki giving her a pleading look, before looking at the exit door. If he wanted to he could sprint out of here and maybe survive the night, or he could walk on stage and melt, let's ru-
Without thinking his legs started moving towards the stage 'What am I doing? Uh... Uh... Can we stop this? UHm... Well looks like it's goodbye.' Of course by now he was drenched in sweat, was starting to internally scream, and felt feelings of insecurity poor over him as he compared himself to the singers of before, hell he even forgot what song he set out to play and he only had one arm. But nonetheless he persisted with his walk, against his own will or want, he did it anyway.
He made it to the stage where moments ago heavenly songs were being played, as he walked up the stairs Delta may notice he didn't have a mask, had one arm, and was wearing a strange patch-work suit. Before playing he awkwardly stood before Delta staring down at her feet. "SorryIforgotthemask." It was a mumble, that was probably inaudible due to the noise of the crowd and it wasn't done any favors by how fast he uttered it before taking the stage.
When he finally took center stage in front of the mic and actually took in the crowd he found his heart beginning to pound and that all familiar nausea started to return, but that was usual so it wasn't no b- Wait something was bubbling to his throat ohno.jpg. He kneeled over unable to hold himself, vomiting on the stage next to him, he felt himself begin to stumble in shake as the room around him started spinning, to the crowd he probably looked hammered.
He almost passed out but then something strange happened, he remembered who he was. That vomit was Matthew's anxiety Matthew's insecurity, but he wasn't Matt right now. He was fuckin' Recoil who cared about what happened to Matt?
Perhaps it was the anxiety, the nausea, or insecurity or all the above that inspired this internal monologue, but none of that mattered, he placed his flute in his other arm for a moment as he reached down and brought out his mask. He turned around for a second as he put it on, he was too delirious to think about the consequences right now, or perhaps he just didn't care. When he turned around the nervous stammering Matthew was no more and suddenly the legendary Recoil took his place, truly a masterful change of disguise. His voice audibly changed in a few ways, besides sounding more bold and confident, it also seemed a little higher pitch.
"You said you wanted a legendary flutist, well... I'll give you one! Behold the new prime star of villainy, the LEGENDARY RECOIL" He gave a rather fancy bow with his one working hand. "Let's begin shall we? Behold my glorious flutist power!" Without further ado he placed the flute next to his lips and started playing away, it was an odd song that completely betrayed his previous demeanor and seemed completely unrelated at all to his act. But he nonetheless played it anyway, and in case your wondering why he picked the song, he just found it on the internet and liked it.
For one hand he probably played it astonishingly well, mostly because he had been practicing it for nights on end and at this point had it to a muscle memory, but nonetheless someone may mistake his constant nights of remembering this for talent of which he actually lacked in spades.

Lukas straightened his overcoat as he walked through the bustling streets of Tokyo. It was something he loved about the City, no matter the time of day it always felt alive. A stark contrast to Bergen, a city that lived and died with the passage of the Sun. Lukas wasn't out on Business tonight, hence the casual dress, after spending the vast majority of the day working on getting his Bar Mjølner ready for it's opening he felt he deserved a night out at another. Hard work developed a strong thirst, even more so for the hulking Norwegian. Unfortunately he was still trying to wrangle up a decent specialist to handle his tap lines otherwise he'd like still be there himself, drinking alone. The more Lukas thought about it the more he realized it was probably for the best. If he drank alone he knew well enough where the night would end up.
He'd heard talk on the town that another somewhat popular bar was hosting a musical event tonight. Whilst that certainly wasn't out of place for most venues, the style of it sounded somewhat more interesting. It seemed to be open to anyone who wanted to perform, something Lukas wouldn't mind seeing. Nominating oneself and simply standing up on a stage in front of a room full of people was challenge enough for some, an act Lukas could respect. To put the spotlight on yourself and perform on top of it? That was something he was looking forward to seeing. Following directions he had been given, Lukas found the venue easily enough.
The entrance itself was unassuming enough, but the distinctive yet simple sign above the door confirmed it for him, the Four Corners. Lukas' ear twitched, easily picking up on the dampened noise emanating from within. From the sound of it the performance were already underway and as he'd rather not miss any more, Lukas pushed open the door. Immediately his nose was assaulted with all the pleasant smells that he associated with such establishments. Beer, Spirits and glorious Pub Meals. Sure the food you found in most Bars and Pubs wasn't up to the standards of the fancy restaurants that loved to champion themselves as masters of the culinary arts, but to Lukas' mind it was at least REAL food. Not some jumped up nonsense styled like a perfumed model to look nice and cost an arm and a leg, but food that served it's only true purpose, just tasting good.
Lukas had to duck slightly to enter, his stature certainly out of the ordinary for most Japanese architecture. The Four Corners was a charming place he had to admit. It reminded him of a few English Pubs he'd been a frequent patron of years before. People milled about going from their tables to the bar and back, usually laden with drinks. Lukas' first port of call was always going to be bar, he was more than a little eager to a drink. Carefully pushing his way through the other patrons, something his height and frame always seemed to aid with, Lukas stood at the bar waiting to be served, his eyes darting around the room. It was a bad habit he had picked up in recent times, always scoping out a room despite knowing he didn't need to. He supposed it wasn't the worst, or strangest habit one could have.
"Largest serving of whatever beer you'd recommend please, and I'll take a double serve of tonight's special." he said to the bar-staff as they came around to him. On his initial scan of the room he'd spotted an empty booth on the back wall facing the stage and indicated towards it.
"Over at the booth." he explained, pulling out a little more money than necessary and handing it over to the bar-staff in exchange for a large pitcher of alcohol. His prize in hand, Lukas waded through the crowd once more to the booth he'd claimed. He had almost reached it when he spotted an obviously inebriated young man and his friends, all in a similar state of mind. They were obviously making for the same booth as Lukas, and he was having none of that. A few longer than necessary strides got him to the table, standing tall in front of the small group. He looked down at them and slowly lowered his pitcher and glass onto the table without breaking eye contact with them.
Though drunk, they weren't entirely stupid, they could tell what Lukas was doing and one went to call him out, if his quickly reddening face and scrunched up features was anything to go off. Lukas cut him off though, baring his large teeth, more fangs, and letting a low rumble of a growl escape his mouth.
"I think you boys have had enough tonight, don't you think." he said, his tone deep and menacing. For a moment it seemed that they would challenge him, but it appeared at least one of their number had a head on their shoulders. He grabbed his angered friend, whispering into his ear before dragging both he and his other friends away. With a triumphant smirk Lukas took off his coat and moved into the semi-circular booth, spreading himself out so as to get well and truly comfortable.
Lukas had a few minutes to sit back and soak in the atmosphere of the Four Corners, as well as half a pitcher of beer, before his attention was drawn to the vacant stage. A woman in a stunning red dress sauntered into view, making her way up onto the stage demanding the rooms attention. She cut an exotic figure, obviously a Mutate, as she sported a total of four arms. The vivid scar on her face visible behind her ginger hair that bobbed and swayed with her. It was obvious she had experience in showmanship, getting a loud round of applause from the Patrons as she began to introduce the first of the second group of Performers.
As she walked from the stage, she was replaced by a rather strange sight. A boy was making his way to the stage but it looked as if his lower half was moving independently from the rest of his body. His steps were almost robotic but the….panic? That was evident on his face, or maybe it was nervousness. Lukas’ answer came soon after. The boy hadn’t been standing in front of the microphone, flute in one hand and his other in a full cast, before he seemed to shake on the spot for a moment before doubling over and vomiting right there on the stage.
It was a sight that Lukas might have laughed at, other patrons certainly did amongst a few cries of disgust, but he was paying too much attention to the boys face. It was almost concerning to watch the range of emotions that fluttered across his features in the space of a few seconds. In mere moments a new person stood on that stage, more man than boy. His features had hardened in determination. He reached into his clothes and brought out a disturbingly blank black mask before turning around and donning it. All trace of nervousness was gone from his posture and he spoke a concerning, if short, monologue.
The New Prime Star of Villainy. The LEGENDARY RECOIL.
With those few words Lukas’ entire demeanour changed. They were words spoken in a somewhat childish nature, but there was a steel behind them. This….Recoil meant every word he said.
Before Lukas could continue that train of thought, the self proclaimed villain began his performance. A traditionally styled piece of Japanese music that almost served to set Lukas at ease. Sure he enjoyed a wide variety of music, most of it loud, brash and hard, but there was something he always found calming about such, in comparison, simple music. It seemed to have more Soul than most music today. The entirety of the Bar had quieted during the performance, enjoying the skill on display. What impressed Lukas most was that Recoil was managing to play such a brilliant tune with only one fully functional arm.
The song finished almost as quickly as it began though it’s impact was still felt. For a brief moment after Recoil lowered the flute from his lips, there was a silence that permeated the Four Corners. It was broken however by slow, yet loud clapping from a booth on the back wall. Broken from the silence by Lukas the rest of the patrons also joined in and soon a loud applause that swept around the room.
Lukas smiled as he sat back and rested in his seat once more, draining his glass and sighing. The boy certainly had skill with his chosen instrument.
“Recoil eh? Well, I certainly hope your name doesn’t come up again for the wrong reasons.” he thought to himself. Impatiently tapping his index finger against the wooden table, a long claw now visible in place of his fingernail. He was getting hungry.

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She had managed after the intermission and her talk with Haruuhi to get back to the bar seat where she had sat before to take notes and talk with the Yakuza Princess, who she had not seen at that point anymore, maybe she had been a bit too rude but the woman wasn't entirely interested in what to do or say about the matter anymore. She was glad she was a little safer now. Brushing away the tears on her cheeks because the conversation with Haruuhi had been anything but pleasant, she refrained from trying to find G back with her eyes. With her back towards the big public and her eyes towards the stage, she simply watched Delta grab everyone their attention again and introduce a new act, a flutist, something that surprised Hanako but as she tried to muster up curiosity, it was also a rather interesting thing to hear, depending of course on the performance. She took her phone in her right hand to make notes, making a disgusted expression on her face when the person on the stage simply vomited. Really, greatest thing to do... if you were nervous, why sign up? But alas it would continue anyway and she was rather surprised that after he seemed to puke, he basically seemed to get rid of his nerves thanks to that and introduced himself again. Hanako wasn't a fan of people that put titles such as legendary or godly in their names, maybe she got a bit spoiled when someone called her queen but let's not go there now, she simply watched and listened, a performer with one arm and playing a flute, that was something entirely new and when she got enough noted down, she closed her eyes shortly to listen to the music, it was something new but she did not dislike it at all.

There were many different kinds of performances going on tonight, and Kenshin wanted to see them all. He was curious to see how this one would go. What would he get from this act? As the performer went on stage, Kenshin watched him make his intro. The boy could not deny that he made a rather interesting first impression. Of course, Kenshin raised an eyebrow upon hearing the bit about villainy. The boy could not help but chuckle quietly. How funny would it be if this guy was actually a villain? Well even if that were the case, then as long as no trouble was caused, Kenshin would not feel the need to step in. Hopefully there would not be anything to worry about. Tonight was a time to relax and have fun. Upon hearing the sound of a flute, the boy could not help but smile immediately, closing his eyes and letting that sweet sound cleanse his ears. It was reminiscent of traditional Japanese music. Most if not all of Kenshin's favorite samurai games had flutes, so hearing one being played felt so refreshing. Once the man was finished, Kenshin began clapping. He could not wait to hear more, especially if all of the songs were going to be like that one. @tagged | Word count: 213

During the whole intermission G just had a lil shut eye. But as the new performance came up, he woke up. He was a bit drowsy, but he jolted awake when he heard what voice that was and what introduction he used. G held himself back from just bursting out laughing and when the performance started out it only got worse for G. He was giggling to himself like a schoolgirl as he repressed his laughter as much as he could. He was tearing up ever "Oh God...its so...white and nerdy" G thought to himself as he 'listened' to the music "Oh god, my stomach hurts" G only had internal monologue as he witnessed.... this
He then glanced at Hana and watched her reaction. He was a bit tempted to take Haruuhi's advice and just go to her. Buuut, he didnt. She wasnt making a move, and well he wasnt as well. But by god was he tempted. He looked away back at the nerdy wannabe villain who was performing. Oh god, what a show. "He is so god damned precious. He reminds me of a child that practiced so hard just to please his daddy" G thought to himself and continued making mental comments throughout this.... thing
