"Fair enough." She'd comment back in turn to him not having any relatives outside of japanese, let alone one with a similar quirk. She clambered down the lift carefully, but paused between two floors, counting the distance between the doors that were left open behind her and the one below her. The math took her just a second, having to briefly make sure she wasn't counting one too many or too few. They were on that floor...and this was 5 down. But it was so many down...but she was including the floor they were on so-
"Yeah, this is it."
She shifted from the wall the elevator doors were on to the wall opposite, offering her arm across like an extended railing for Hideki to use. "Find a foothold on the wall by the elevator. Clamber across my arm, should be easy enough." She hoped he'd listen easily enough, it was quite a drop but he looked quite physically fit, so he should be fine with the trip. If not she'd help him find a goothold closer to her. "Right...I'm gonna burst through the doors. You ready to cover me with one of those ice shields of yours?" Again, she hoped so. Her skin was thick enough to tank some bullets but only for so long. Less damage she took her the less bloodied she'd look when she finally reached the politicians. Probably best they not see a blood soaked Oni there to rescue them or they'd freak out.
"Ready?" She'd wait for him to confirm before shifitng her position, still on the opposing wall but with her back to it. Her leg muscles bulked up to a firm standard before kicking off from the wall, switching her position mid leap, her legs coiled up and facing the doors. A hard slam as she kicked through the elevator doors, falling into a roll. There was a sound of pain as the disconnected doors had slammed hard into some of the goons on defense. If they'd been guarding the elevator incase of an attack, they hadn't been expecting the doors to slam outward like this. The blonde Oni herself fell into a roll and heard a few soft clicks as guns were trained on her, rising into a crouched position and counting down the goons about her, ready to see a sheet of white between here and them, and needing to know where they were so she could strike while they were stunned, even if she couldn't see them.

"Got it" Hideki would respond as he reached over towards the base of the elevator doors once the pair had reached their destination. Damn was he ever glad to get off of Mia's back! He made sure to have a good hold though before letting go of her, he would freeze his hands to the metal for good measure. It was easy for him to stick and unstick them, but at least this way he was sure not to fall for the time being.
His heart was still pounding like crazy as even his feet now froze to their grips. He had looked down, then back to Mia with a mild look of panic. This vigiilante stuff was definitely a rush, one that the boy was not eager to repeat once all of this was done. He gulped, but then nodded towards Mia when she asked him if he was ready. He braced himself, loosening the tight hold of the ice as he readied to launch himself up after Mia. He would wait for her to bust through the elevator doors before jumping up behind her and immediately bringing up another flurry of snow in front of Mia, that would very quickly ice over to create a barrier between Mia and the thugs. Thankfully he had a bit of a break before to replenish his stamina, but damn this day was exhausting, and he sure as hell was going to feel this later.
This next part was going to be tough... the instant the pair burst through the elevator doors, there was a hellfire of bullets being shot at them, chipping into his ice and threatening to break it at any moment. However, there was one movement that Hideki caught from the corner of his eye that made his body move long before Hideki could really think about it. One of the thugs would grab one of the politicians and point a gun to their heads.
Instead of waiting for anything at all to happen, Hideki extended his left hand and sent a flurry of snow to surround the politician, closing his fist made the snow bunch together and turn to ice, creating an icy shield around the man just in time for the bullet to be embedded within the ice shield. He let out a sigh of relief... though his body started to shake a little bit at how difficult it was becoming to hold so many ice shields... This required a lot of energy, as his main ability was to create and manipulate snow, not ice...

Well this was a fucking predicament and a half. Even surprising them on the right floor there was only so much Mia could do when hostages were involved, but with most of their guns aimed on her and the snow shield that just formed around her, they had at least a chance to handle this right, but they had to do it fast. Gritting her teeth, her tusks forming over her top lip even larger than before, the veins across Mia’s arms started to bulge out as she summoned up all of her strength in one go, whipping around, the back of her right arm turning a leathery red as she threw her arm through the shield that had been made for her on a backward sweeping swing of her arm. The force she spun with alone enough to knock the guns out of the hands of the closest goons, and those in the back staggered by the display all the same. Mia now had her vision of the scene back, and she had to think fast.
A man was protected by an icy armor and she’d have to remember to thank her little companion later, but for now. Time to act. She kicked up a nearby table meant to accommodate the politicians during their discussions, kicking it hard to throw a bunch of the goons on their asses, and as some collected their discarded guns, Mia was hucking chair legs, mic stands, binders of political jargen. Anything and everything she could get her hands on and going right for headshots on the lot of these punks.
Of course, the gun shots came in sooner rather than later, and while a big chunk of the numbers were removed, Mia had to rush for cover. Some bullets hit her tough skin at the wrong angle and seemed to skim off, ricocheting with nothing more than a scratch, while others embedded themselves in her muscles. Mia found another table, and threw it up, crouching behind it, breathing heavily. The stamina drain was nothing but fucking hell she was fighting through like, a dozen bullet wounds at least now.
The gunshots stopped. Mia glanced to the elevator…they hadn’t gotten the kid, but that just meant.
“Ya wouldn’t want our hostages to suffer now would ya?”
Back to the table she’d ducked behind, she hissed through her teeth, almost hearing the click of a gun being cocked as it was aimed at one of the politicians. She couldn’t even see what was going on but the situation was clear as day. Her eyes scanned about…she couldn’t rely on the kid for everything, and if she was judging this right, that ice wasn’t a trick he could pull for another…at a guess, 5 politicians?
“Now…gonna count to 3 here….you either come out and let us shoot you or the hostages get it instead. Watch your pro hero career take a nose dive after that Red Horn.”
The sound of a gun shifting met Redhorns ears, a whimper too. Odds were the gun was being placed right up against their head or some shit…
“3…”
Mia was scanning the room for something to use to her advantage here, but mostly she needed a way of seeing what was happening without going over. Her red eyes clocked the shiny doors of the elevator and the reflection they gave her. She was right, gun was held right up at this guys cheek…
“2…”
Guy running this operation was…neat. Today. Sharp suit. The goons had more general attire but he wasn’t hiding his face and he had a snazzy outfit. The kind of guy who felt appearance mattered even now…she had two plans here but she was hoping a gut instinct was right…
He stepped back! A good few feet away, still aiming at the quivering politician but now he wasn’t gonna get brain on his fancy tux!
“1…!”
Mia raised a fist up and slammed it down hard into the floor. The shot rang out and there were cries of confusion but Mia could only hope none of despair. She rammed herself about, tossing the table she’d been using for cover at the last few goons who’d been aiming at her, and rushed the scene. The politician was alive, but Mia didn’t have time to focus. The shot had mixed thanks to her tremor and she grasped the boss man by his torso, almost looking at though she could hold his entire chest in one hand and rearing him back, not reducing her momentum, and throwing it all behind her as she slammed his body back down into the ground, panting ferociously as she heard a wheezing gasp flow through his lips as the oxygen was knocked out of his lungs, and he fell unconscious.
“Hah….hah….how….how we lookin’ here?” She looked to the politicians, a mix of terror and relief. Her eyes then drifted to the elevator. “Hey! Ice boy! How you…you…woah-“ She stumbled to the side, dropping to a knee. “Fucking….fuck. How much blood Mia lose…?” She spoke, clearly getting very light headed as the adrenaline RAPIDLY dropped off.

To say that things were moving rapidly was one hell of an understatement. Shots were being fired left right and center. Some were fired at Redhorn, others fired at the hostages and others still at him. What the hell could he do? He didn’t have enough control over his quirk to deal with everything going on, and his first and only instinct now that the first hostage was safe was to protect himself. A veritable snow storm picked up around Hideki, the snow becoming so thick that you wouldn’t be able to see his body within the 5m area around him.
The snow storm was large enough to encompass a few of the thugs that were here, causing shouts of confusion and anger from those he had swept up.
[Outside Mia’s view as they are obscured by snow]
The thugs didn’t let the snow get to them. It was cold and stung their flesh, but it was in no way immobilizing. They could still move, and they still had functioning guns that had managed to avoid Redhorns fury.
‘Damn it this is a lot more exhausting than I anticipated… worst part is I recognize the damn ring leader too. Hopefully he’s too busy to think too much about it.’ Hideki thought to himself, his breathing starting to become more and more laboured the longer he maintained this snow field and the more he manipulated it to be as solid as ice. He was more focused on keeping himself obscured from sight at this point that he didn’t hear one of the two thugs had managed to find him. The thug, upon seeing Hideki’s silhouette, charged full tilt towards him, slamming his body into him and pushing him backwards until he had the boy pinned against the adjacent wall. The thug placed his gun against Hideki’s chest holding his fire only as a layer of ice started to cover the metal.
Hideki glared down at the thug who glared right back at him, scoffing as it became obvious that Hideki was nothing but a child.
“Now the damn UA kids are trying to play real heroes hunh, stupid brat should have stayed in school, now you’ll wind up dead.” The thug threatened, to which it was Hideki’s turn to scoff, his voice low so that only the thug could hear him, even if there wasn’t a raging snow storm surrounding them.
“You think Master Thundershock would like you killing one of his best placed agents?” Hideki bluffed the shit out of this thug, sure the boy had worked for Thundershock a few times in the past, albeit unwillingly, but for a situation like this, every instinct told him to play that get out of jail free card.
“W...what?” The thug hesitated, his grip loosening on the boy as the sole mention of the bosses name had chills running through the thugs spine. Weren’t they acting according to his plan in the first place? Why was this boy here to… wait best placed agents.
“You heard me, I’m working with this Hero on his orders, so you kill me, you’re going to die pretty soon after. Now get the fuck off me and play dead.” Hideki threatened, but the man didn’t budge, a cruel smirk suddenly playing his lips as he listened to Hideki’s speech. He didn’t know the boy from Adam, and so while the idea was horrifying to face Thundershock’s wrath, it did spur a secondary idea into the thugs brain…
“Alright hot shot, well if you’re undercover guess what? You get out scott free and they’ll suspect you. So, send the boss and your hero bitch by regards wont you?” The thug would grin as he free hand raised from his utility belt, weilding a rather large knife which he would then imbed in Hideki’s chest, just between his shoulder blade and chest cavity. It missed any vital organs, but was enough of a wound to immobilize anyone.
He couldn’t help the cry that escaped his lips as the blade penetrated his flesh and was left within the would. His immediate reaction was to reach up with the unaffected arm and grab the man’s face with his palm, pumping as much cold as he could into the palm and freezing the man’s head into a solid ice cube. Unlike the comic books, this was a deadly attack as it stopped the man from breathing, slowed his brain function to a crawl and would cause him to slowly suffocate. Hideki grit his teeth tightly, a loud groan escaping his lips as the man stumbled away from him. He reached up to the blade, barely touching it and hissing, therefore choosing to leave it alone.
His snow storm began to dissipate, leaving behind one dead thug, and one who had collapsed from hypothermia. The sight that greeted Hideki was a welcome one for the most part. The hostages had enough time to get up and get the fuck out as Redhorn had managed to deal with the head honcho, though not without taking on quite a few injuries of her own.
“Damn it… she can’t hold up… wait… WAIT” Hideki yelled out at the hostages that were trying to get out of the locked door. Hideki stumbled his way over to the window, ushering one of the politicians over.
“Break this…” The boy grumbled, unable to move his body well enough to do it without having the knife cause more damage. He bit his lower lip, trying to prevent the whine that threatened to escape his lips. Thankfully, the politician obliged and took one of the chairs and used it to smash the window open.
“You… and you… grab Redhorn. I’ll make you… a way down. “ He would groan as he pointed to two of the heftier men, instructing them on what to do as he looked back to the window, placed both hands painfully on the ledge and closed his eyes. This was going to take everything he had left… he’d never made an ice construct so big before, and wasn’t sure he’d actually manage the whole thing.
Still though, he focused all of his remaining strength, his hands freezing to the window sil as what could only be described as an ice slide began to form in a spiral down towards the ground. As high up as they were however, Hideki was just short of making it before he felt completely exhausted and found himself resting against the side of the wall. He was only short a floor, so even as the politicians took their turns sliding down, thankfully there was a rescue team at the bottom there to catch their fall.
WC: Over 1k
TLDR: Hideki got stabbed for ‘show’, straight up killed 1 thug out of self defense and sent one into hypothermic shock. Got politicians to pick up Redhorn and jump out onto the slide where they’ll be caught by rescue services.

Mia could really feel the downside of having a rapidly beating heart and a tonne of bullet wounds across your arms and torso. Luckily none of them could push through her dense muscle to the point it was anything to desperately worry about, but damn she was really needing some medical attention or she might actually bleed out. As her blurry vision showed her one of the politicians trying to help her, she brushed them off with a scoffing chuckle even in her current state. “Ah fuck off, like you could even lift me up…”
She pushed with some difficulty to stand again and looked about the room. The place was still in lockdown so there were no easy ways up, and they had a bunch of criminals just left unconscious on the floor, and while Mia had a set of zip ties as an emergency measure if the police where a whiles off, she in no way had enough for all the crooks here. She looked over to the ice boy, not noticing how bad his wound might be in her current state and called out. “Hey…get everyone down safely! I…I gotta stay here and make sure everyone stays put…tell them they don’t got any hostages to worry about so they better book it up here with officers and a medical team…”
She woulda left it at that, but she gestures idly with her arm. “If anyone gives you shit about using your quirk, just tell them I gave you permission. Emergency situation and all.” She wobbled briefly again but managed to catch herself, chuckling again with a bit of a light headed airiness to her tone, but managing to keep herself standing for sure. “Just…get that medical team to hurry up…” With that she’d start to undo some of the bandages that decorated her forearms, and wrapped them about her wounds to try and staunch the blood till someone could get her an emergency transfusion pack. “Aaaah…”
