The fight to retake Nakano was underway and Penelope was working with the police department there. A great number of her officers and coworkers were rerouted to this district of Tokyo in an effort to help take back the city and end the rampant crime that was there. With the introduction of quirks, there were a lot of things going on all at once and it was only natural that criminal organizations took advantage of this to further their own goals. Fortunately, the police department had people on their side as well. Not only was Penelope a police officer, but she was a professional hero as well. She could use her quirk to help apprehend criminals and villains that stood in her way. Today, she was at the Sun Plaza, which served as the base of operations for the police department and was the only real place safe from all the crime and influences out there.
It was important to keep this place from falling under and so pro heroes took turns patrolling the plaza in hopes of keeping the criminal element from progressing further into the plaza. Today was that day for Penelope. In fact, she was going to partner up with another pro hero to do this. He was called Blacktooth and he had a mutation type quirk. It was all well and good. Penelope was excited to get to work with other pro heroes and looked forward to a good patrol with the hero. Before they started, they were to be briefed on the basic information regarding the plaza and the route they were to take for it. Each of them was going to be equipped with radios for communications with each other and home base in case they needed backup.
And before heading out, they both had the chance to get ready and grab the equipment they needed for the patrols. Penelope didn't need much at all. he opted to wear her police uniform rather than a hero costume for optics for the civilians in the district. So she waited in the plaza for her partner to arrive and they could start their patrol. She hoped to get along with him. Ebonnie and Blacktooth would make quite the team! In the end, they were what stood between Nakano falling and peace finally coming to this district of Tokyo. it was important that they put on a brave face and really show Japan that they could be protected.

Tip tap tap. The sound of paws scratching the ground could be heard coming from behind the Police Hero.
"Ah, so I ain't alone in this." A rather young and spry voice playfully commented, a very distinct hint of mischief under the lines as the Pro her known as Blacktooth made his presence known. Fluffly black fur covering up his humanoid yet canine body, piercing yellow eyez, actual piercings on his right ear. Yep. That was him alright. Aside from the ash gray light battle armor with yellow highlights being another dead giveaway.
With his tail dusting off the floor at a rather slow pace, the wolf stopped once he had reached a spot sufficient to give the cop a look over. The hero grinned.
"Well well. If I knew I'd be treated to this while on the job I'd have come sooner." He playfully commented with a cocky smirk plastered on his face. "We don't get cute police girls in England..."
A chuckle, then he offered his righ hand for a shake.
"Blacktooth, reporting for duty!"
He was ready to fight teeth and nails to get Nanako under control. However, it seemed that his assignment for the day would be a simple patrol job. Hopefully it'd go smoothly and without too many hussles.

Penelope perked up as she heard sounds come from behind her. Not just because she was waiting for someone else but because of the area she was in. Even if she was a policewoman, she was still very small. And while her quirk could do a lot to protect her. Nakano was a rough area and very dangerous. it was the whole reason that so many pro heroes were asked to come and help liberate it. Sure, it wasn't a legit warzone, but if nothing was done then it definitely would be. That said, once Penelope turned around to see the source, she smiled as both relieve and excitement to see her partner for the patrol she was about to take part in. She lifted a small hand into the air to wave toward the professional, "Hey there! Glad to have you aboard." She expressed genuinely. His comments on her being cute were sidestepped a bit. She was used to them because of her size, but she was supposed to be professional, so she wouldn't indulge them too hard. "Well, thank you." It was a mild response, but she was trying to keep things on track. It seemed like the hero was from England, which was interesting. England had a lot of great history behind it and she liked reading about it. "Hello Blacktooh, I'm Ebonnie. Police Officer turned pro hero! Let's make this patrol an enjoyable experience." After she spoke, she tapped her radio to make sure he had picked one up for the patrol. If he hadn't, Penelope would make sure to bring him one for the day. It was important that they stayed in communication. And once they were both ready, she started to walk the route they were going to do for the patrol. It was actually a pretty easy one. "We've been set on perimeter watch mostly." She pointed down the street perpendicular to the plaza. "We'll do a wide loop about a block away from the plaza itself to make sure nothing too weird is going on and none of the criminal element brings in something dangerous. Nakano is pretty rough, but Sun Plaza is really the only place that manages to stay clean." She felt it was important to stress how important Sun Plaza was to the whole operation. It depended o them keeping things safe during their patrol. So with that set, she started toward the next block over and the starting point of their patrol. "How long have you been a hero? I hope Kakano doesn't scare you too much." She asked, trying to start some conversation. - Tyson Rhodes

Typical Blue suit. Always professional well a little good manners wouldn't hurt. The wolf shook the lady's hand, making sure to not stain her with his coal. Aside from being rude it wouldn't convey a great message. If people knew that his silky soft and black fur was actually because of minute coal particles they'd start saying he had bad hygiene. Even more so if they knew his fur color was actually white.
Tyson snickered, pulling op an earpiece and sticking it inside his left ear when prompted about comms. It also had a mini microphone integrated with it. Pretty high tech stuff, courtesy of of NSD...aka his hero agency. He gave her a thumbs up showing he had her on frequency. "Mic check, Mic check."
With that, they set off to their patrol stroll. "Ebonnie uh? Weird codename, but I kinda see the reason behind it." Another snicker. It seemed that the Englishman was always quite playful.
"How long have I been a hero? Hm...hard to say. Lotsa work and training. Everything is kind of blurry. I'm not as experienced as others but I am not fresh outta the academy either. I'm...right in the middle. A hero in his prime!" Yet another chuckle. "Patrol route doesn't seem too bumpy, but I am going to ask anyway. I've read your quirk of documents yadda yadda but let's be honest here...most of that stuff in there is stupidly underplayed. If we are going to engage bad guys, although I find that unlikely, perhaps it's better if we see our quirks' interactions. I'd be bad if someone like me would let meanies do harm to you now, eh, Sunshine?"

Penelope smiled as the wolfman shook her head. It seemed like this was going to be a positive experience for the time being and Penelope was excited to get to partner up with more heroes. As they started to walk over to the next block, Penelope led them down a street that was mostly being unused. Movement in and out of Sun Plaza was watched by both sides and they were moving into what Penelope considered the contested area. Over time, civilians had learned to stay away from that area because of all the things that happened and now Penelope and Tyson were walking right into it. It was completely possible that they weren't going to run into anyone at all, but it was also possible that nothing suspicious happened at all either. All in all, it was just a patrol. She looked up to her partner and nodded as he spoke. He had some time in, but he wasn't a veteran. That made sense considering the hero profession was pretty new as a whole. Though, Penelope could consider herself someone with more experience since she was a police officer. At least she knew that side of things. But, of course, information sharing was what was important here, as Tyson brought up. Penelope nodded and held out her hand in front of her. Her palm faced upward as if she was going to hold something in it and present it to him. It was odd to see an adult with such a small hand, but Penelope was a small person. To the unknowing observer, it was like Tyson was escorting a preteen around. And while that would make them seem like easy targets for villains, Penelope and Tyson were both capable heroes. It was like the perfect bait. "I make and control these." She said to him as a black box appeared in her hand. It was a translucent black cube with hard straight edges. It was just small enough to fit into her hand and about the size of a baseball. "They had some really good defensive application." She added as she spoke about her quirk. That was mostly what she used it for anyway. Helping and defending the citizens under her charge was important and Penelope didn't make light of that responsibility. Naturally, the question of Tyson's quirk came next. Sure, there was information in the files for all heroes, but an explanation from the person themselves was usually more informative. "How about you, sir? What you got for me?" She asked playfully. as they stepped out on to the next street. - Tyson Rhodes

"First of all, I'm gonna lose years of my life if you keep calling me sir. Tyson's fine. Blacktooth if you need the codename. For all I care you can call me Blacky too." The wolf replied with a chuckle. He never was one for formalities and he never really cared for titles or any thing like that. He sure as hell wasn't going to start now of all times.
"So, you summon cubes. Hm. Weirdly interesting. As for me, you might already know my quirk's called Coal Body. It's quite self explanantory, wouldn't you think? Now watch out, Sunshine, I don't wanna ruin ya surprise."
Tyson's fur seemingly fluffed up... and then super fine dust began shrowding around the two. "I control coal. My body produces it instead of sweating. While it's no different than black powder I can shape it and move it as I wish." More and more cloud lifted off the hero's fur, shrowding the two in a sphere of thick coal dust. At the center of it all, Tyson snickered.
The black cloud was all round them in a matter of seconds, showing off just how much substance Tyson was able to move around with relative ease. There were liters and liters of it.As the last spec of dust lifted off of Tyson's body, the once black wolf was left with a completely different look. "Shocker uh? A hero named Blacktooth has his natural fur color as white as snow." He twirled on the spot to get her a good look, before jockingly booping her nose. "But this is a secrent between us now, eh, Sunshine? Good thing no one can see us all that well from the outside. Perhaps it's the time to ask for a kiss?" He told her with a cocky smirk on his muzzle. Man he was extra playful today. Perhaps it was his partner's fault. She was surely ay friendlier than most cops he had met.
A few moments passed and the coal shrowd then proceded to recede back onto the hero's body, darkening his fur back to the shiny black he had presented himself with.
"Obviously, while I'm immune to breathing my own dust in...my opponents aren't so lucky. Moreover, black lung is the least of their problems."
He snapped his fingers, allowing a minute amount of coal powder to ignite and produce a bright orange flame and white smoke. "My coal's about as volatile as gunpowder. Pretty sure you can put two and two together and figure out the rest of what my quirk can do, am I right?"
With the lesson over, the hero focused on looking forward. Hands on the back of his head as he gazed about distracted, he mumbled. "Well, you got defense and I have offense. Looks like we're a match made in heaven."

Penelope couldn't help but chuckle as Tyson told her to be less formal. It seemed that it wasn't his style, which was fine. She did so to be polite, but also because it often fitted the mood better. She was small and childlike, and while she knew better than to actually act like a child, she could see how people would feel more comfortable if she spoke with them in such a way. Tyson didn't seem like he was one of those people, so she was going to have to play down her usual formal speech. "I'll stick with Blacktooth then, just to keep it sounding official. We have hero names for a reason, yeah?" She added, choosing to keep the hero theme between them.
Once he started to shake the coal loose from his fur, Penelope took a step back so that she would get dirty from it. "Ooh, that's really neat. We're totally team Blackout or Blackwatch, or...." She paused a moment, putting a thumb to her chin as she thought about a team name for the two of them and their patrol. "Black Sky! Cause we keep justice from on high. Something like that, we just need a cool slogan to go along with it." She teased, lightning up the mood a bit now that she saw that he was more comfortable with that kind of thing. It looked like they were going to make quite the team though, so They just had to stick together and make sure the plaza stayed safe. And on that note, something strange did happen not too long into their patrol. As Tyson finished speaking, a shadow moved from around a corner They were being watched and whoever was doing so was trying to stay out of their sight.
But he wasn't alone and even though Nakano was home to a powerful criminal element, they had yet to take the plaza and the only place of refuge for the police force. As of right now, Penelope and Tyson were all that stood between the scouts and their infiltration of the plaza. That was, of course, if either of them were able to notice the few oddities out of the corner of their eyes. There were about four of them, each in different directions. Some watched through the windows of buildings while the others hung around the corner of an alleyway. It seemed this wasn't going to be a boring event after all.

Tyson chuckled. "Well well, you ain't so tight up as I originally thought." He stated. "We barely met and we are already at team names uh? Hm...how about...Team...uuuh..."
Well, that was harder than he thought. Coming up with a team name out of the blue was complicated. Let's see. He was Blacktooth and she was Ebonnie. both were dealing with black stuff, be it coal or obsidian looking cubes. A few similarities for sure, but also alot of differeces. His quirk was highly offensive, while her cubes seemed more suited to defend. As a side thought, their quirks really seemed to be working quite well in tandem. No wonder they had been choosen to team up in the first place.
The wolf grinned. "How about Black Knights? Cause you know. black cubes and black coal." He threw it up there. It'd be actually quite ironic. Knights in black armor were usually regarded as evildoes in most fairytales and boy did Blacktooth enjoy some irony.
He kept walking at a slow pace, seemingly uncaring for his surroundings. He was intersted in his partner more than the boring old nanako. He liked her. She was petite, but incredibly well behaved. It was almost a breath of fresh air compared to all the other disgruntled cops he was used to work with. The black jackal's right ear twitched lightly as he mulled over his proposition for their team name.
"So, what do you think we should call ourselves, Sunshine?" He teased, casually moving his hand paw to hold her own hand. He'd give her but a gentle squeeze to get her attention and signaled her the movement he had spotted in the back alleys through the motions of his eyes. IT was a brief glance, but he was more than sure that his new partner would get the gist. His senses were slightly more sharp than a normal human, even though he didn't doubt her training for a moment.
"It's hard to think of cool sounding names on the blue eh?" He played it off like nothing had happened. He liked to study the situation at hand before engaging in combat.
