| Sometimes Paradise is just a bar away~ | | After the little adventure of the second performance had calmed down, an adventure which clearly amused Asmodeus a great deal for her lips were curved up into a smile as some of the fourth corner’s staff members went to move the piano off-stage. No doubt Delta had instructed this to happen, she wasn’t even sure when the instructions were given but no doubt she didn’t want the lovely couple to be separated by something as trivial as ‘cleaning up after you’re done playing’, okay that sounded more perverse than she had meant to, but with the next performance being hers to announce, Rebecca decided to enter the stage, her presence quickly drawing the attention of the crowd.
“Ara~ Ara~ Now if that wasn’t a heartfelt performance… I can still feel the warmth of her melody resonating within my heart, it seems our next performer has quite a challenge to overcome if he wants to keep the audience just as entertained.”
She smiled briefly, clapping her hands together, a motion which was accompanied with the spreading of her black feathered wings to draw the few in the crowd who had still been conversing.
“Rapping, an art which traces back centuries before the rise of hip-hop music. There are plenty of definitions behind what it means to ‘rap’. Some might call it a means to convey something, others would call it a battle of wits and words. I can’t wait to see whether this Rapper will Walk the Walk, or will be all talk! Have an applause for…. JAMES WALKER!”
With an energetic 'yay’~ The hostess glided off the stage, giving the performer his chance to shine while the crowd clapped in anticipation for his arrival. The stage was set, now it was up to him to make it successful!
Dear performer, this act is now in your hands!

James took in a deep breath backstage, he could hear his heart pounding loudly in his chest, not from stage fright or nervousness, but from excitement, he'd never performed in front of a crowd before, before tonight the only other people who'd really heard him rapping was his sister and grandparents whenever he'd get a little too into the music in his room, now was the time for him to finally show his stuff, he could hear the MC giving her little intro speech, he went over the song order in his head one last time and finally he was ready. When the announcer called his name James got out of the seat he was in and jogged out onto the stage waving to the crowd as he approached center stage and grabbed the microphone "Alright, alright Fourth Corner, how we doing tonight!" he called out to the crowd for a little call and response "So I'll be doing a couple songs for you guys tonight, I'll be starting off with Blood in the Water and I think it's been a little too quiet so far, a little bit too chilled so this song's gonna get hype and gonna get a little aggressive, so I wanna see some movement out in the crowd, alright then, let's do it!" he shouted out as he grabbed the microphone off of the stand as the song began to play. During the performance James was hopping around on stage, trying to get the crowd to follow along and join him, after all he was having the time of his life right now, he wanted others to join in and have fun as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So I'll be putting a 72 hour post time on the thread, this gives people a good amount of time to post if they need to and gives me a decent break in between posts. Also just in advance he'll be doing 3 songs total, just so everyone knows how long I'm planning on having this go for
all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Some people were really open about their music performance. She did not know what to think about it, amateurs, could she call it that after some perfect plays? Eh, she would just say so to herself but she would definitely ignore the word in her potential blog, She was in general not a really fan of the call and response thing, on the other hand, he at least did not say: I can't hear you. Which made her appreciate the guy a little more. He did however ask for movement, what did he want, them to move their phones left to right? She would see based on the music, as she had heard from Asmodeus that it would be about rapping, she had to bit her tongue to show her distaste for it. The boy after all could not help it either, she just had a preference, or maybe not for tonight. But at least he had a talent she could appreciate, it did sound right, it did seem okay and even if she did not like it and wondered how people actually danced on this sort of songs, she simply stayed amused, she took her phone to write a few things down and shortly wondered now that the second act started if some of these people were reaching for fame and who those were, she might consider such things for her blog later. All with all she could see that this performer tried to make the best of it and have others join in that moment as well, the way he moved on the stage, was slightly mimicked by the crowd, it did not work well in this area she would say with too many tables and chairs but there was never a harm in trying. Who knows one day he would find a better stage for that?
Post by Farrah di Prima on May 28, 2019 23:27:18 GMT -4
As the group 2 performances started up, no one was more excited to hear a new rapper than Farrah di Prima. The poetess' excitement was already boiling when James took the stage; when he asked the audience to participate, jump up, and make noise, she was elated to the point of bubbling. Farrah had been silently and not-so-silently threatening to wedge herself in every performance since she came in late, so to finally get a blank check to animate herself however she saw fit was the most welcome news she could ask for. The question was only if James knew what he'd done by providing her that blank check.
The girl in black rose to her feet and raised both hands with palms outward and fingers up, putting on a fierce smile. "You ask for hype, and I tell you, I'll bring it! I'll dance along, and if I don't know it, I'll wing it!" she informed (warned?) James, while beginning to bounce on her toes to the sound of the microphone. Her arms spread wide to either side- thankfully, her table was empty of other guests- then swung back inward, bringing both hands together with a huge clap. She repeated over and over, showing the fruits of her hobbies, as it related to timed percussion. "I'm behind you, James! You may not know me! But trust that I can't wait for what you will show me!" she called out loudly, her sunglasses bobbing up and down upon her nose as she hopped.
Of course Kenshin would be seeing all of the other performers do their acts. He felt like it would not be fair to them to not give their acts a listen. He was here to have a fun time, and that was both on stage and with the rest of the crowd. He did not know what to expect from everyone, but he knew (or at least assumed) that everyone would be giving it their all. So naturally, the boy would be more than happy to cheer them on. This performance would be made by a James Walker. Admittedly, Kenshin was not too excited upon hearing that this would be a rap. In truth, Kenshin just never got the appeal of it. He much preferred things like blues, rock, metal, and jazz. But of course he would not let that get in the way of enjoying the show. Who knows, maybe he would come to like it. After all, the boy did have an open mind. One thing Kenshin immediately noticed was how James was getting the crowd involved. That was pretty good. It helped keep things from getting stale. Despite usually not being the sort to 'go with the flow', Kenshin figured that he could make tonight an exception. With the rest of the crowd, Kenshin moved and followed along with James. The boy began to smile. Who knew that this could be so much fun? Perhaps rap was not so bad after all. @tagged | Word count: 245
Notes: Gotta show support for all the performers!
As he performed James looked out to the crowd and saw a couple of people getting involved and having a good time, which made him happy. He was also getting hyped, moving around the stage and jumping around, he wished his sister or grandparents could see him doing this right now, though he wasn't sure how comfortable he would be with his sister being in a bar on her own and his grandparents were getting too old to travel too far. When the song was finished he took a moment to catch his breath and drink some water and to just fully take in the moment, it wasn't like he was performing in some massive stadium, but he thought it was really cool that he was up here having people watching and listening to him perform. He then started to address the crowd again "Alright, I'm glad to see some movement out in the crowd, glad that everyone's having a good time out here, Alright so we're gonna get started with song number 2, this song is called I Know I Know, so I hope everyone enjoys!" he said as the 2nd song started to play, he took a breath and then started his 2nd performance
During his performance he could see the crowd losing their enthusiasm that they started off with and although he was having a blast up here on stage he knew that he'd have to bring the performance to an end. After the song finished he took a few breaths and then put the microphone back into it's stand to address the crowd "Well, that was a blast but sadly I my time's up, I hope you guys enjoyed this as much as I did, enjoy the rest of your night!" he shouted to the crowd before waving as he walked off of the stage That was really fun, maybe I'll look into doing stuff like this more often he thought to himself as he downed a bottle of water backstage
