❛❛The face is the mirror of the mind, and eyes without speaking confess the secrets of the heart. |
HISTORY Nari grew up as a regular child, although her quick having developed soon after she was born unlike most children who may get their quirks at a later age. Nari’s family was not rich, they were considered on the lower spectrum of the middle-class society, but that did not bother Nari. She wanted to do her best not to cause any trouble for her family and do what she could to help. As Nari grew up, she was almost always the center of attention as she was one of the few mutants to look so normal compared to other mutants. Mutants, however, were always seen as different compared to the other quirk users. Most children had emitter or transformation quirks, there were only a few that had mutation quirks like herself. She chose to spend her time befriending those with mutant quirks as she believed they were all the same. She interacted with all the children, but she only spoke to those with mutation quirks. She was never one to get especially angry but ended up injuring another student with her quirk as she stuck up for a fellow mutant who was being bullied. Though she was reprimanded by her teacher, her parents saw no fault in what she did. She was doing what was best for her, given the situation at hand. She had obtained her quirk from her father, although not being the exact same as his, as her mother was quirkless. She would go and ask her father about his quirk and how it was different from hers, finding fun in learning more about her father and even more about herself as a mutant. She always heard about the heroes on the news and how great they were, but she never heard anything good about the villains in the world. She grew saddened that they did not get a fair chance to be heard out, only ridiculed, and hated by those around them. Nari was not aware that her father was a villain until she was 5 years old when he had admitted to her. Instead of being mortified and scared, she was rather interested and amazed that he was a villain. She decided that she wanted to be just like him when she grew up! Nari turned to her mother for guidance, knowing that she was the only one without a quirk in their family, but she encouraged Nari to do whatever she believed was best and would not hold her back from her dreams. Nari would listen to her father’s stories of him stopping the heroes and doing villainy work, amazed at all the amazing things that he did. She found his life to be much more exciting than the heroes work. She even accompanied him on a small mission, when she was older, having made her costume for the job! Her father helped her train her quirk in secret, always practicing in the shadows and away from the eye of society. She and her father trained with colleagues of her father’s helping her train and even letting her know of some plans they had for the future. On one such mission Nari knew about, she eagerly awaited his return home, knowing the bounty he would bring home to help all of them, but that bounty never arrived. Nari waited with her mother, worried about her father and his safety as the time they had agreed on had long past. She had gone to bed that night, unaware of her father’s arrest. It was not until the next day she found out about what had happened, causing a slow build of anger to grow within Nari. She even attempted to go back to their secret hideout at night, without the knowledge of her mother, but found police activity around their hideout. She watched from the shadows as the police arrested her father’s friends, the people that had helped her growing up. The anger inside her grew, seeing everything that she loved being taken away from her. She heard on officer coming her way, knowing she had to go something to get back, knowing her father would agree. She lured him to the back of the alleyway and attacked him, knocking him out with a vacant metal pipe. She lunged her tongue out at him, sucking the blood from his unconsciousness body in means of killing him faster. To cover her tracks before the police got there, she repeatedly hit his head with the pipe, bashing his skull in to cover the mark she left. She escaped over the chain linked fence, escaping back into the shadows and away from all activity. Nari arrived back at her home and night, blood covering her face and upper as she greeted her mother who was worried sick of where she was. Nari told her mother what she had done, wanting to avenge her father for what those heroes did to him. Her mother looked at Nari and nodded, seeing Nari live out her goals and wanting to help her accomplish them. That night, the bloodied clothes were burned, and the pipe was taken care of, all for the sake of helping their family. As she used her quirk more for villainy, she began to feel the rush and adrenaline from killing others, perhaps it was the blood she absorbed when she lashed her tongue at them, perhaps it was seeing them suffer under her power. Either way, she couldn’t abandon such a wonderful feeling. She had gone on a few solo missions just for fun, just going out for no particular reason, just to harm people. She had no real care for them, the rush drove her towards her actions. It was what her father would have wanted, she craved nothing more than to be the perfect daughter for her parents, wanting to make them proud. Who would suspect any ill will behind an innocent smile? |
