Kasumi was happy that her measly offering of Tuna would be enough to repay the small black cat for finding her friend. "Ah I'm sure Papa has other snacks at home as well. Maybe he has more tuna at home. I can ask him when he picks me up from school today!" Kasumi said with a bright smile on her face, practically bouncing on her toes at how happy this new friend made her feel. She couldn't be giddy for too long lest she get distracted and not be able to find her way back to school. Kasumi followed her new friend back the way they came, past the pond and through the tall grass back to the fence where the school was. It was like they were on a little adventure but sadly the adventure had to come to an end as Kasumi had to get back to school before her teachers were wondering where she was.
Once Kasumi crawled back through the hole in the fence, she found that the kids had all gone back inside as recess was coming to a close. Hearing Kuro speak his name once more, Kasumi turned to her new furry friend and looked down at him. What was she? Did he mean to say who? "My name is Kasumi although my papa calls me Sumi. Papa says I have a special power since I look different than the other kids. I don't know how to say it though, it's hard to say," the axolotl girl said with a soft smile as she wiggled her fins and tail. Kasumi looked toward the door and frowned. "How are we going to get inside without Miss teacher seeing you?" Kasumi said softly, a bit worried about getting in trouble and having her teacher and Mosa scold her.

238 words ft. Kasumi Okino The first thing that Kuro noticed was that the playground was that it was nearly empty, spare a few children near the building. That probably means no tuna… he slowed his pace and, now in familiar territory, Kasumi took the lead. She proclaimed that her Papa had more food at home, and announced that she was a Kasumi.
"You have a Quirk," the cat agreed, "It's like a special gift."
The two came to an abrupt halt near the building, the pink girl realizing that they wouldn't be able to sneak Kuro past the teacher.
"I have a gift, too," Kuro explained, "Is that your class?"
With the girl's confirmation, Kuro announced, "I will sneak in and find a place to hide-- watch!”
The cat stretched, wiggling into his invisibility. It started at his tail and, as if someone were waving a wand over him, worked its way all the way up his body and to his whiskers, until all that was left was his shimmer.
"I'll follow you! Look for me in hideaway places!"
Once inside, he would scamper to the teacher's desk, which had about a fifteen centimeter gap between the floor and the bottom of a pair of drawers. Perfect for a cat!! Kuro dodged backpacks and bustling students, footfalls and loud sounds, until he finally tucked himself beneath the desk. It was just until the end of the day. And then… he'd get fish!

Quirk? What exactly was a quirk? Kuro said that it was a special gift, could this quirk thing be why she looked the way she did and her body could do that special thing from her past? Kasumi didn't stay on the subject long before realizing that she had to head back inside. Kuro then spoke up and asked if that was her class heading inside to which Kasumi nodded in reply. Hearing that the small black cat had a special gift too, Kasumi grew curious. Could cats have special powers too? Well, she supposed a talking cat was not quite normal, then again neither were people who looked like her. Kasumi grew a little confused as to how Kuro was going to sneak in without anyone seeing, she was certain that her teacher would see him walking about in her classroom. As if in an instant, Kuro turned invisible before her very eyes! Could cats really do that? Hearing her teacher call for her, Kasumi turned her attention toward the door and called out, "Coming teacher!" before making her way inside and to her desk.
Now having time for art class, Kasumi went up and got some paper as their teacher had instructed. It seemed today they would be working with finger-paints, making Kausmi quite happy as indicated by her fins wiggling. Kasumi thanked the class rep for the day for her paints before turning her attention to their teacher who gave them instructions on what to paint today. The subject for that day was something new that they kids had found or something new that came into their lives. Now what could Kasumi paint? Kasumi stared down at the paper before a wonderful idea popped into her head. Kuro! She could draw her and her new kitty friend...but just where had he run off to. He said to look for her in small places but would he really be there? She needed a small reference before she could start painting her masterpiece.

255 words ft. Kasumi Okino The kitten had wedged himself squarely under the desk, adjusting and readjusting until he was twisted into a little ball. From this angle, he was wholly unaware of any eyes that might be searching for him. In fact, all he could see was shoes. Mostly the small shoes of students, and a single pair of grown-up shoes. The cat yawned. His tummy gurgled insistently. He just had to endure a few hours of human school. A few hours, and then the pink one would give him fish. Bright yellow eyes were growing heavy. Kuro nestled his head down into his paws, the sounds around him blurring. It all faded top gray, and eventually silence as the cat surrendered to sleep. ===
Hours later, the scream of the bell jostled Kuro from sleep. The black cat scrambled to his feet, honking his head on the underside of the desk. Kuro winced, his ears flat. The school! The pink one! Tuna!! That's right! He eased into his invisible form, before carefully making his way out from under the desk. The children were packing-up and in the process of leaving. Kuro spotted Kasumi, through the sea of children. He clambered into the seat of an unoccupied desk, onto the tabletop, and leapt desk-to-desk towards the back of the room. "Kasumi!" the shimmering specter of a cat said in a theater whisper, "Kasumi, over here! On your desk!"Once the cat was certain he'd been heard, he insisted, "Let me ride on your shoulders! I don't wanna get stepped on!"/ᐠ。‸。ᐟ\

Kasumi could not find little Kuro anywhere so it seemed she could not use him to draw. Perhaps if she closed her eyes, she could remember what he looked like. How hard was it to draw a black cat with a red bowtie? Kasumi closed her eyes and smiled, thinkin of what Kuro looked like before getting her paintbrush ready and began painting her masterpiece. This was going to be one of her finest works! It would turn out amazing!
Before long, the final bell rang, signaling the end of school. Kasumi let out a small sigh ad looked down at her painting, proud of her work and what she did as well as remembering what her muse had looked like. Kasumi went over to the little sink and cleaned up her supplies before heading over to her cubby to switch her shoes out as well as grab her backpack. Kasumi made sure to pack everything she needed for home before putting her backpack over her shoulders and grabbing her painting. As she headed out with the rest of the kids she head someone calling her name. She turned back and went towards her desk until she saw her black cat friend once more. "Ah there you are Kuro!" Kasumi said with a small smile. "Ne ne look, it's you!" Kasumi said with a smile, showing the small cat her painting she had done of him. It seemed the cat had wanted to ride on her shoulders out of the room so he wouldn't get stepped on. Kasumi was a bit afraid he might fall so she came up with another idea. Kasumi set her painting down and opened her backpack a little. "Hop in here, it'll be much safer for you. I'll keep it a bit unzipped so you can poke your head out if you want," Kasumi suggested, wondering if Kuro would be ok with that.

ENCOUNTERS OF THE FLUFFY KIND THE CAT CHIRPED CHEERFULLY WHEN HIS PINK FRIEND saw him, eagerly rising from his seated position. The girl showed him her drawing, all smiles, and the cat inclined his head. The black, painted mass vaguely resembled a cat, in the sense that it had two triangular protrusions from its head, like ears, and a red bow. He waited for Kasumi’s go-ahead, but was instead directed to her backpack. Huh, Kuro had never ridden in a backpack—he’d ridden on plenty of shoulders, but never a backpack.
“I guess that’d be okay. Just don’t bump me around too much,” he said plainly. The backpack was pried open, and Kuro gingerly clambered in, taking a seat amongst the scant supplies within. He didn’t like it. It reminded him of a cat carrier. But at least she’d left it unzipped. There was some jostling as Kasumi put her backpack on, and then they fell into the somewhat rhythmic bounce of the girl walking out of her classroom.
Kuro wriggled into his invisible form, then poked his head through the partially-open zipper. If anyone looked too closely, it would seem as though Kasumi’s backpack was vaguely glittering.
The world bounced by, a whirl of excited children, their teachers, and the parents that had been sent to retrieve them.
“There’s so many people here,” Kuro remarked, peering over Kasumi’s shoulder, “Where’s your Papa? Is he pink, too?”
The cat’s curiosity was piqued. So, protected by his shroud of invisibility, he’d continue looking around over Kasumi’s shoulder. He was hungry, so the sooner they found this papa, the sooner Kuro could get some food.

It seemed that Kuro liked her painting which made Kasumi quite happy the cat enjoyed his self portrait. When Kuro said he'd get into her bag, Kasumi nodded when he asked not to shake him around as much. "I'll try and be careful," the pinkette said watching as the black feline carefully climbed inside, nestled in next to her best friend Aki which she had placed in her backpack once they came back from finding her. Kasumi closed it just a bit so her things wouldn't fall out but kept the top open so Kuro could stick his head out if he so needed to.
Soon enough, Kasumi made her way outside of the classroom and back at the front of the school. Kasumi made sure to hide Kuro as she said goodbye to her classmates and teachers. The blue eyed girl wiggled her fins a bit when she saw her papa waiting to pick her up from school. Before she could call out to her papa, Kuro had spoken up, asking if her papa was also pink like her. The pinkette couldn't help but giggle at his question, imagining her papa to have pink skin like her. "No, papa isn't pink. Papa is very tall and very big. He has brown bushy hair and wears a fun hat with small bears ears on it," Kasumi said, describing her papa to the kitten. Kasumi soon made her way over to Mosa and made sure to give him a big hug like she always did when he picked her up from school.
