Post by Kenshin Akadama on Apr 24, 2019 12:20:45 GMT -4
Kenshin had a feeling that an event like this would be popular, but he had underestimated just how much so. As more people came in, the place became packed in no time. In all honesty, Kenshin was feeling a bit nervous. He had to perform in front of so many people. And if he screwed it up... But he wasn't too worried. This was why he had practiced on his bass for countless hours. Besides, he was here for a good cause and to have fun. So what if he missed a note or several? As long as everyone had a good time, all was well. Seeing as there was not much to do but wait until the start of the performances, Kenshin began to wonder what to do to pass the time. Maybe text his family or friends? Perhaps try to scan the crowd for familiar faces? But then he heard someone call out his name. A female voice, one that did not take long for Kenshin to recognize. Turning around, he smiled upon seeing the girl. She may have looked different, but Kenshin would not forget a friend so easily. "Elise, hi! It's good to see you! How have you been?" The boy was pleased to see someone who he thought highly of. Speaking of such, it seemed as though Tetsuko was here too. "Oh sweet! That's two friends I get to meet with today!" It was funny that this would be the first time Kenshin would meet with Tetsuko when the two weren't fighting off a crazy sword-wielding maniac. A normal meeting for a change, or at least that what Kenshin was hoping for. Apparently, Elise was not here as merely a spectator, but as a performer. Did that mean Tetsuko was here to give her girlfriend support by cheering her on? The thought made Kenshin smile. That was so sweet! "I may love the sword, but it's far from my only passion. Whenever I'm not swinging one, I love to jam on my bass. I'm looking forward to giving everyone a show. And I look forward to seeing you perform as well."Kenshin then heard Tetsuko arriving. "Hey, my fellow sword-wielding badass!" Just how many familiar faces would the boy see tonight. Not that he was complaining. On the contrary, the more the merrier! "I was just telling Elise I'll be performing with my bass guitar. My bass skills may not be as refined as my sword techniques, but I won't disappoint." Or at least I hope not, Kenshin thought to himself. Kenshin then turned to Elise. "Hope you two have a great time. And best of luck, Elise! I'll be cheering you on!" He was curious to see what kind of performance Elise would be putting on. But rather than ask, Kenshin decided to leave it to Elise to decide whether to tell him what instrument she plays, or leave it a surprise until she went up on stage. Either way, Kenshin had no doubt that she would perform wonderfully. And he was looking forward to putting on a great performance as well. @tagged | Word count: 518

Post by Chimera on Apr 24, 2019 12:35:54 GMT -4
695 WC This will end well | There were a jumble of thoughts bouncing around in Chimera's head as he was finishing getting dressed for the evening. Not one to go out most nights, he was making a happy exception for a music show taking place at the bar that his friend Eli worked at; and, lucky for them, the place that O.D Hazard would next be playing for a real audience. The festival felt like it had only happened yesterday, the energy and power and fun of being on the stage still fresh in his mind, and it made the thought of doing it again much easier than the first time.
However many things had changed between then and now.
There had been more training, a trip home, stress among his friends...
...and a funeral.
Chimera dusted a few strands of white fur off of the black t-shirt and red jeans he'd chosen to wear tonight--simple, but still rock enough that he didn't feel under-dressed. With that done he picked up his black backpack and went out the door of the dorm and down the hall, down the stairs, and out into the summer afternoon air. He had a lot of time to get to the bar still, but seeing as he was taking the train in to Tokyo that was to his benefit. It was time to kill, to hum the tune of the song that Darren had picked out for them to sing. He liked this song. It was cool. It was something she would have liked to listen to.
Had Darren chosen it on purpose? Probably. The two of them were the last "O.G" members of the band left. They'd added Eli and Miku, and now a new guitarist--Jasmine, Rin's girlfriend of all people--was joining them. It was crazy that they now had so many members when there had only been four before, disagreeing over who got to play which instrument and what songs to sing. If only they'd found Miku a little sooner, then she wouldn't have needed to drum and could have played what she actually liked. If only she'd stayed at U.A.
If only.
Chimera picked up his pace, deciding, promptly, that too much time to kill was bad for him right now. He reached the station in record time thanks to his rabbit reflexes, and soon was on the train there. There were enough people going into the city, too, that he could stuff himself into the corner and just listen to the noises of a crowd. Usually he disliked being packed like a sardine, surrounded by strangers. Recently it had been a blessing to be distracted.
More noises in his head meant less thoughts.
Tonight was going to be fun. Playing for a crowd beyond the school, playing with Jasmine for the first time on the stage, listening to all the other acts and just having fun, no strings attached. It was just what he needed right now.
Chimera stepped into the bar to a small crowd already bustling about, some familiar faces mingling in with those of strangers and vaguely recognizable voices. He slid between patrons towards where he could see the stage. A woman was already greeting the crowd--the host, he assumed--with four arms and an impressive amount of charisma, so much so that Chimera grinned and cheered along with the crowd as she and her co-host wrapped up their introductions and began to set the stage for the first round of performances. While being right up front would be fun, he had a band to find.
Thus, Chimera moved away to start sniffing out any of his fellow musicians. Eli worked her, so he should already be somewhere among the crowd. Darren said he was getting Kirk first so he might be a bit late. Would Miku and Jasmine be here by now? They probably had their own friends here, too, to talk to until showtime. Would it be rude to try and latch onto them regardless?
Slightly.
But he needed to be around friends right now.
It would help him forget the one of them that wasn't here.

Junko knew about the music night, mostly because of OD Hazard and Elise. And she came to the bar, because she wanted to hear Elise play. Sure the OD Hazard had Darren and Eli in the band, two of her students. But the beauty of that music she heard, that melody... it was like heaven for ears. Like a calm before the storm.
When she got to the fourth corner, she saw the place was packed. Last time she was in a crowded place she was at Red Horns vain party of Halloween. Junko was relegated to sidelines and eventually left without anyone noticing her. This crowd, she did not like. She took a deep breath to calm herself and went to find Elise.
Junko was not a fan of crowded places and she would only stay for the girl. But, as soon as her act is done Junko would leave. She just cant handle this amount of people. Its not a place for her. Maybe she just got used to being alone.
She eventually found Elise as she spotted her, Tetsuko and a boy that she didnt know. She saw them in the distance. Junko decided to slowly approach the 3 kids

Matthew stood alone before the mirror in his bathroom, his mask to the side of the sink, his hand clutched around a small metal instrument and his anxiety palpable. He was wearing the tattered remains of his original suit that he managed to patch up to some extent, even if the suit now ended up looking like a hodgepodge of different conflicting colors and fabrics it gave him a small comfort in what was going to be his night of trial.
His left arm was still healing from his legendary duel with Red horn but he could at least move the fingers now, which was something at least, meanwhile his legs still felt wobbly and would give out if he stood for too long thanks to his escapades in his battle with G, and his right arm was now in it's own caste taking up the mantle of the left, which wasn't very go- you know what he started to realize he was a wreck more and more thinking about it.
He shook his head "I'm... I'm doing it." Taking a deep breath he slowly and painstakingly raised the mouthpiece of the flute he was holding to his... well... mouth. Turning his eyes to the mirror he started to play and... Well what could you expect? He started fucking up almost immediately, missing notes, accidentally choking up mid way, it was terrible.
Beads of sweat started to form on his forehead and come trickling down to the rest of his face "I have to do this, I have to do this, I have to do this." he repeated to himself out loud to perhaps try and steady himself as he had been doing for weeks but this time it ended up betraying him instead causing his worst thoughts to manifest. He thought of all the eyes that'd be there watching as he failed in spectacular fashion, he thought of how everyone, including Yuuki, was going to laugh him off the stage. His hands started shaking, he felt his heart pounding, it was too much... KNOCK KNOCK "Reeeaaaaadddddy!"
Part of him wanted to walk out and just call if off there, hell he almost did when he looked at himself again in the mirror, but he always had one ace up his sleeve. He slowly grabbed his mask and pocketed it before turning to open the door and head out. Like usual his neighbor greeted him with a certain grace and a friendly smile as she guided him to the car, not that he could tell he still struggled to look at her for longer than three seconds at a time without literally dying. Sure he'd known her for a while by this point, but he couldn't help it he did it to everyone no matter the circumstance, there were only three people in his life he had ever gotten comfortable about looking at and two of them were his parents.
Rather morbidly, he was quietly thankful his neighbor was wheel-chair bound so he had an excuse to not give them direct glances, through he soon chided himself for how terrible of a thought that was.
Eventually they made their way to the car, he briefly ended his internal dispute to help his companion get into the car, then the moment it was all said and done, he started it right back up tensely shifting his flute up and down to get his mind off the anxiety. The car ride itself did have some small talk but like usual it seemed rather one-sided with his neighbor asking small questions to try and break the silence, and again, like usual, Matthew painfully lacked the proper tools for small talk. The most he could respond was answering the questions in the lowest word count possible or a meek "Mhm." he meanwhile kept his vision narrowed to the dashboard, or occasionally would turn his head to look out the window at the night lights before reverting to the dashboard when he saw someone walking on the side walk, couldn't risk looking at another human being could we now? Hehehe... It's... Not really all that funny.
----
Finally they made it, and almost immediately problems started. He started hyperventilating, his heart wanted to go on strike seeing this, his hands trembled so violently that he accidentally dropped his flute to the floor causing him to panic more as he grabbed at it feeling a deep and sharp pain in his arm as he reached down to grab it, forgetting that it was still a work in progress, causing him to briefly shutter his eyes and cringe in pain before grabbing the flute and turning his head to Yuuki who was already almost out. He wanted to plead and beg to go home, but... No the mask. He reminded himself that if things got too tense, he always had the mask, always.
He looked again at the bar, maybe it wasn't as bad as he thought? Maybe it... Ma- Nope that was a lot of people... He started to feel nauseous again, his insides were burning N-No-NONOONONOPENOPEPNOPENO-
He had to save himself from himself, he closed his eyes and let out a deep breath to calm himself if only for a second. He placed his flute in his pocket next to the mask, and started out of the car to wheel his neighbor toward the bar, oddly he didn't ask for permission or even thought about it, and if questioned would lead to an awkward silence on the part of Matthew who himself didn't know what he was doing and was trying his best to put his mind off from the lions den he just entered.
Every step into the bar felt like he was one step further into the depths of hell, he felt so out of place. So many people, so much talking, so many eyes... He knew he could redirect kinetic energy but if he could redirect potential energy that'd be a real super power. He started to notice he was getting looks, perhaps because the man had an arm in a caste, or because he had a flute sticking out of his pocket, or maybe it was from his frankenstein suit or mayb-
'Focusfocusfocusfocusfocus.' He wanted to put on his mask already but he stopped himself before he tore it from his pocket and proudly put it on. 'No save it for the performance.' This was a test of his will by this point, if he could survive tonight he could survive anything, trial by fire and... all that.
"H-hhey, d-do you see a table you want?" He lowered his head to whisper in his frien- maybe that was a bit much, his chaperone's ear.

489 words @boarmandog The request for a ride had been rather surprising, particularly given the fact that most people with paralysis could not driver. Yuuki, however, was in possession of a car with all hand-controls. And the person making the request was her eternally-nervous next-door neighbor, Matt.
"An open mic night," the silver-haired beauty had intoned, her grey eyes boring into the fidgeting man before her. Of course she'd been to plenty of open mic nights, but-- people like Matt, introverts-- they, uh, didn't do open mic nights. So it was difficult to believe that he'd voluntarily enter into one, "Did you, uh, lose a bet?"
The question was worded sweetly, however skeptical. And when Matt confirmed that he was, in fact, performing, Yuuki agreed to give him a ride.
"Sure, sure."
The ride over was mostly filled by one-sided conversation, which Yuuki didn't mind, to be honest. So much of counseling was listening. It was nice to be the one talking, for once.
After they found a parking place-- a really prime spot, given Yuuki's disability-- she turned to the brunette, her voice cool and collected.
"You want me to leave and come back, or you want me to stay?" Some people might have been more embarrassed to have their neighbor watch them perform, while others might have needed a support system. The young man offered a noncommittal and mostly-mumbled answer.
"Okay."
Yuuki undid her seatbelt, and slid the driver's seat out so that she could pop the trunk and roll down the ramp that extended out the back. Once outside, she closed the trunk, as ready to roll down the ramp towards the entrance of the bar. No sooner had she rolled away from the car did her neighbor take a hold of the removable handles of her wheelchair and start pushing her forward.
"Um-" Yuuki began. She could roll her own chair. Why she even had the handles in was beyond her. She looked up to advise Matt of this, but then she caught sight of his absolutely frantic facial expression and... okay, if it helped him feel any better, she supposed she could let him push the wheelchair. No big deal.
They crossed the threshold into the already-bustling club, clumps of people gathered here-and-there. That was one rough thing about crowded places like this. You couldn't really maneuver them in a chair. Matt murmured in her ear, asking her if there was a table she wanted.
"Something off to the side, maybe?" she proposed. In an ideal world, it'd be close to the bathroom, or perhaps the bar, but it was rare for the young woman to be so lucky. She was escorted to a table, close to the stage, as well as the door.
"Thanks, Matt," Yuuki said simply, glancing back at him. Poor thing was quivering like a leaf in the wind, "Would you like to... get some waters? Might help cool your nerves a little."
tl,dr: yuuki takes a spot to the side near the stage, and asks recoil to go get drinks.

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away It was not as if she had seen a ghost but after her encounter with Bones and Lavende, Hanako was done for in her mind. She wanted that she could make a decision and that he would reply to her text. She turned with big eyes to Nori, not knowing her name but the username she used in the channel. Anthracite. She shook her head and looked shortly past the woman to the door, this was a bad idea. She should go, she was here for Delta and Miku but the only person that knew her under the name Nanami Midoriya sat next to her. So much could go wrong. She had made this mistake. Her eyes focused as she noticed someone waved at her and she felt her heart only sink more. Haruuhi. She turned back to Nori, "Very much so I am afraid." Her voice was the only thing remaining strong but her body showed everything else. Putting her hand on the bump, wishing Nori away. Why. Why. Why now? She was not safe anywhere anymore, why did she not quit her job, if someone would come over now and call her Hanako, she was lost. "Fancy seeing you here though. I hope you enjoy your night." And please sit somewhere else. She sat so upright, it could not look healthy and her back screamed at her. She noticed one of the bartenders look at her and Nori to order drinks but she wasn't even far in her drink, two sips at max. Of course Haruuhi was here, but she waved at her. Could this still be fixed? Was there hope? No. No there was no hope as G did not text her back. Was he here too? She did not want to turn around and see. For now, she would just try and talk to Nori. Hoping no one would call her. @iwa words notes MADE BY VEL OF GS

A lot of things were going on for Miku. Her breakup, her parents breakup, her birthday... which was on the same date as Levi's funeral. Not to mention her left hand would sometimes still shake from that mess at the sports festival. A lot of things were going on, that's why she was nervous and thats why she came super early. Earlier then anyone would think. Miku found a seat and took a deep breath to relax or at least try to. Miku waited and observed to see if she would see her bandmates.
But it seemed it was a bit busy-er then she expected as the place turned out to be pretty crowded. She saw Kenshin, but decided not to bother him. She then thought she saw Darren for a sec, but it was too crowded and wasnt sure if it was him or someone that looked like him. She decided to wait if Eli and Chimera would come, before she showed her presence. Miku kept an eye on the place and spotted Haruuhi. Did she come to watch her perform. Miku traced Haruuhi's movements and saw her sit at a table with someone. A better look revealed that was G, which made Miku almost choke. "Shit!! He's here?!?! Does that mean Hana is here somewhere too?!" Miku thought to herself, panicked
Miku didnt wanna confront her mess of a life now, so she waited. Luckily, she saw someone who she couldnt miss. Sa-Chimera! Yeah... him! Miku decided to quickly go through the crowd to see her bandmate, while at the same time praying Hana, G or Haruuhi dont see her. Miku just couldnt handle that now

She smiled with a sly grin that seemed to move its way up along her cheek in a side grin. Her hands folding lightly on the table. Waiting for a moment before she finally had a new and fresh drink. Sitting and watching carefully at the woman she hadn't really expected to come across this day. She shifted lightly in her seat looking and watching with one good eye under her sunglasses.
"Shame, Its too bad if something ails you on such a interesting night of all times. I hope whatever makes you feel ill doesn't linger long." She'd say softly watching carefully as her eye from time to time under its cover looking around curiously to see just who all was here. Settled and comfortable finding the strange little twists life decided to throw at her humorous as always.
"Are you working tonight? Covering the show? Or simply out relaxing?" She'd say carefully in a quiet voice only loud enough for her to speak to the one woman easily enough but not loud enough to make it easy for anyone to listen who may not be far off. Curiously always keeping eye looking around the place as best she could cautiously using her shades to hide when she did so, so for the most part it would simply look like she always kept her eyes on the lovely reporter.

As G was hiding he heard a noise that sounded like a glass of beer being put on his table, followed by the sound of someone sitting and then the voice.... "Haruuhi?" He looked up from the menu to see her drinking. He took her booze, swipped it from her and drank it himself. Because there was no damn way she was gonna be the hammered one. She was gonna be sober. And then he hid behind the menu again.
"I didnt wanna let you know about the fucking breakup. Whats there to say even? She dumped me because I made a baby. I mean, fucking hell woman, you were the careless one who wanted office sex. Its not my blame, no matter how much people try to pin it on me. Everyone and their mother knows that I wanted my own family, my own flesh and blood. She should've watched herself, I dont warn anyone anything and thats final. Now shut up and go home" he said annoyed. But also added "You dont want me drunk. Im flirty with women and aggressive with men. I dunno how I treat kids when drunk and I dont wanna find out, so go away" "Fuck off" he thought to himself irritated as all hell. He didnt want to get judged and hated and whatever for his deed. If its a sin to want your own family, then kill him. He doesnt regret his choices.

Red was in for one hell of an ordeal tonight, thanks to Fuckin KAZ. He'd been subjected to his....Chunni bullshit "Performance" For days at this point, his ears still ringing from the sonic torture he was forced to listen to, as he wished for the sweet release of death each passing moment. Kaz had gone through, he shit you not, 20 FUCKING DRAFTS OF HIS Chunni Bullshit "Performance", each with their own, different backing track, every single goddamn time. Most of the time it was classical music, but one of the WORST drafts featured him talking normally "Rapping" to the tune of Gangsta's paradise...he then promptly switched it to Amish paradise because, in his words, "This is a christian dorm, so no swearing allowed". Red responded by telling him to shut the fuck up and go to fuck to sleep already, cause it was 1AM. Red spent as much time as he could outside the dorms, just to escape this insult to entertainment, but he couldnt escape it forever. Every night, Kaz would stay up, just to get his drafts up to an "Acceptable quality" for music night. Red tried to drown him out with music from his goggle mounted headphones, but it wasnt enough. Nothing was ever enough to drown him out. Existance was pain. The night before music night, instead of returning to his dorm, where he would be once again put under physical pain, that it was a better idea to sleep in a fuckin tree just outside the dorms just to get one decent, peaceful nights sleep.....cause he knew he was gonna fuckin need it. He'd rather break curfew than listen to Kaz. He had a very strong feeling that he would have to bail Kaz out of getting the entire bar throwing whatever they had on hand at him, and as funny as that would be, since the fucker kinda deserved it at this point, his instincts just wouldnt let him sit back and watch it happen. Much as the kid could be INSUFFERABLE, he was a decent guy when it came down to it. Either way, he knew even if they did throw stuff Kaz probably wouldnt stop, so he was prepared to just drag him off stage...with the owners/hosts approval of course, not warning and asking would just be rude....probably. Despite seemingly doing well talking to people on UA Chat, he was still vastly inexperienced when it came to face to face interactions. "Eh fuck it, i'll figure somethin out when i get there" He muttered to himself, before passing out leaning against a tree....was weirdly nostalgic. He woke up the next morning surprising late for him, probably due to the torture of the last few days. He'd forgetten how fuckin bright the sun was when you just woke up, Jesus it almost burned his eyes. He stretched a little in the morning sun, just making sure everything wasnt sore or fucked from sleeping against a tree. God this reminded him of the old days, when he'd just fall down against a tree and be unable to get back cause of his most recent ass beating. He also found a bag next to him, which turned out to be a packed lunch of some shit, there was food in it. He'd have to ask around to find out who dropped it for him, it was probably Hye, so he could pay em back ASAP, he didnt like owing people anything, especially not money. But unfortunatly that'd have to wait for now, he had to go change, eat and try and avoid Kaz until they had to head out. After a day of light training and shitposting in UA chat, he was ready to head out, with his goggles on his head. or atleast he would be if he hadnt got a call from his sister. Turned out she was coming too, and she JUST SO HAPPENED to have Acquired an ID. Red shook his head over the phone, he didnt want to have to take care of his drunk sister AS WELL as Kaz, but that was looking like his plan for the night. Atleast she had no friends either, so she'd be alone. And if anyone tried making a move Red would atleast be there to make them think better about their actions. He got there a bit late, just a couple minutes before the opening speech, with his sister. She looked about as casual as he was, and instantly went for the bar to try out her ID. As for him, he just went to go find Kaz. He wasnt hard to find, in his chunni coat and ascot off to the side, against a wall. His mother and Nemi were also here, and she apologised to him, Knowing full well that Kaz was gonna embarress the family again. "You got no idea how bad its gonna be, thats most of why im here.....the others cause of my sister." He told her, pointing his sister out at the bar. Until the inevitable time where he'd have to drag Kaz off stage, he'd just goof off with the rest of the UA kids at the bar, keep an eye on Kaz and his sister, and just generally have fun for the night.

Oooooooooof. She'd been expecting cranky G, but this was some next level stuff. She just shrugged though when G swiped her drink instead of taking his own and just propped her elbows on the table as she watched him hungrily down it. She didn't budge, even as he spoke so harshly towards her, mentioning how he didn't want her to be there, how it wasn't his fault, and how he didn't want to find out how he acted drunk around children. once he finished his speech and hid back behind his menu, Haruuhi stood up, maybe giving the impression she was going to leave, though in truth just reached over and took the first beer she had offered him and instead brought it back to her side of the table and took a sip out of it.
"You can't get plastered, because i'm going to need a responsible adult at this rate~ Besides. I didn't come finding you because I wanted to blame you for anything. Honestly if anything, I agree with you. We're all in charge of our own bodies, and if we're not careful, the 'unexpected' could happen, whether that means not being careful with sex, or not being strong enough to fight back." She said nonchalantly as she leaned back in the booth, glancing sideways at the crowd of people gathered around them. If G got aggressive with men when drunk, then this wasn't exactly the place for him to be... she noticed a few other students front her class here and there... even Miku and Hana... if he was going to go ham then... well it wouldn't be good if he did.
"Just because I agree with you... doesn't mean you were right. It takes two to tango, so honestly, you both fucked up... and I think you're both acting like idiots and it's pissing me off. One way or another, Hana is pregnant with your baby. What are you going to do about that? You can't be part of that babies life while avoiding Hana.
Dad everyone makes mistakes, you, Hana, me. Everyone. Don't let these mistakes ruin the two of you. You still love each other right?" She prodded, refusing to budge and refusing to leave. She would promptly down the rest of the beer in her hands before G had the opportunity to swipe at it again, raising her hand when she was done to wave over one of the waiter or waitresses, only to shake the bottom and sign for 2.

Eli had gone into work that day pumped and ready, it was the day he and the other members of OD Hazard had been waiting for! The first annual music night! Eli knew he wouldn't be able to just wait around for hours before showing up, so he asked Delta if he could work the day of and set up. His boss agreed, and the employee came that morning with a change of clothes for his bands performance. The work day had gone by quite quickly, and soon it was time...
While his boss made her introductions and welcomed the many, many guests that would be performing, Eli changed into a blue denim jacket over a red shirt under it, blue jeans, and a pair of boots. By the time he got back, Delta had finished the initial welcoming of guests, which he soon realized was a lot of people. As he looked around he saw a few familiar faces, Junko's skin gave her away as she walked to a group that he figured was Tetsu, Elise, and someone he didn't know. He saw Haruuhi and G as well. Finally he spotted a fellow band member! Chimera!
He quickly approached the goat boy and waved, "Hey, how was the welcoming committee? I had to change so I missed it. Though between you and me, I'm not complaining." The blonde boy joked. He could tell already that his furry friend wasn't his usual self. Hopefully he would be able to cheer him up.

“Yeah, you’re boutta see what I meant when I say that dude’s hyperactive,” Darren commented to his mom. He could already hear his classmate’s booming voice from inside the house, and a second later out came Kirk, dressed as if he was going to a friendly game of baseball, dashing for the car and shouting that he was coming. “Damn, you weren’t lying.”
True to himself, Kirk banged his head on the doorframe as he got in, apologized, closed the door, saluted Daimon Retusko like a soldier and called her miss Diamond. “Hi, kid. No need to get a stick up your ass, you can relax.” Darren turned from the front seat to give Kirk a big wide smile. “It’s Daimon, dumbass.”
He got a slap on the back of the head from his mom. “Be nice to your friends, dumbass!”
---
A while later, they got to the Fourth Corner. Retsuko’s driving was as snappy and as on the edge of the law as her son’s quirk and the use he made of it, and when they got here she snobbed all the parents around the place desperately looking for a parking spot by smugly parking in her employee’s spot, and off they were -- not without her grabbing her already-trying-to-escape son by the back of his collar and giving out her latest instructions. “Now listen you shithead, that’s where I work, so no bullshit tonight. If I get fired, we can’t afford your damn school anyway.” “Nice try, I know Dad’s paying for it. Weak material, mom, you’re losing your touch!” “Oh yeah? See if I’m losing this touch!”
She slapped through empty air where the back of Darren’s head had been a second before. The crafty motherfucker had slipped through his jacket’s sleeves, ducking with an activation of his quirk, and was now trotting for the door at a leisurely pace, crackling the odd blue spark behind his steps as a catch-me-if-you-can. He spun on his feet to run backward. “Chill, I’ll be nice. Move your ass, Kirk!”
Leaving his jacket hanging in his quirkless mom’s hand and Kirk to catch up, the delinquent entered the bar eagerly. Retsuko just sighed.
---
Inside, there was a hell of a lot of people, to put it bluntly. He dove in the human mass, letting his instincts guide him to the people he knew. See, to a teenage boy, entering a room with a lot of people you knew in it was a sort of ritual; the greeting ritual. You had to know by heart who you shaked hands with, who you checked with and if you did, in what manner, and if you lived in the south of Europe, who you kissed on the cheek, including some of your male friends -- though not all of them -- it’s complicated. Scandinavian people reading this are probably terrified at this intrusion of personal space, but thankfully, this story was set in Japan and so Darren didn’t have to kiss anyone on the cheek.
Yeah, it’s a weird way to greet people.
Anyway. The first group of people Darren encountered was Tetsuko, Elise and some white-haired dude he had never seen before, but whom he heard say he played the bass. Now, Darren wasn’t from the south of Europe, but he was a Japanese delinquent and therefore had little sense of personal space either, so he put his arm around the kid’s neck like the delinquents always do in anime. “Hey, you play the bass kid? Nice to meet ya, I’m Darren, I play it too. Make us proud up there will ya?” He then turned his attention to Elise and Tetsuko. A lightbulb clicked in his brain. The memory department pulled an old clip of Eli playing Drake Quest XXXVII in the forms, fighting a certain enemy, and a new nickname was found. “You, Slime Knight! That’s you guys new nickname now, deal with it. One of you is playin’ up here?” Before they could answer, his eyes darted to the side and he saw the blue figure of Junko-sensei approaching. “Whoops, gotta go. See you guys later!”
With that, he released his embrace on the likely confused white-haired kid and fucked off as quickly as he barged in.
He next spotted a familiar lady in a wheelchair, the school therapist’s assistant if he remembered right. He didn’t know her name, but he heard someone say her quirk was turning into marbles, so he called her Marbles-sensei. “Hi, Marble-sensei!” he said as he passed by her and disappeared into the crowd again, leaving another person likely confused. After her, he spied Red, which he threw a handwave at. He didn't notice Chimmy and the others yet.
Next, he spotted Miku from behind. A devilish and likely very stupid idea took hold of him, and as he lacked any sort of self-control, sneaked behind her and decided the best -- well, the funniest anyway -- way to greet her would be to suddenly go “Boooh!” from behind and squeeze her wrist. “CQC defense, how to get out of a wrist guillotine bracelet!” he immediately joked. Some would say that wasn’t something to joke about, Darren would say that’s exactly what makes it worth joking about. Either way, he had a really dumb smile plastered on his face and enough social sense to not keep squeezing her wrist and he quickly let go. “Kidding, kidding, how are ya beansprout? We gotta spar again sometime, without blood fountains in the way I mean. That was some wicked shit you pulled with them vines back then! Anyway, you know where the other nerds are?”

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away In every word she could feel the sense of attack, a way of words that were not used on her before, was that sarcasm or was it genuine that the Princess thought it was bad that something ailed her, was she threatening her. Oh she felt horrible, she should go home. Her eyes scanned for the crowd, was there not someone else that would aid her. Haruuhi? She missed her now, could not find her in the crowd anyway, maybe she should ask the school nurse who sat behind her with two guys, maybe she should ask the red haired barman. What should she do? She wasn't really ill, she made that disease herself, her stubbornness, her hurting the man, the person she loved the most. For a second she thought she saw him and froze in her movement. Sitting rigidly upright but it was not him, was it? She looked like a deer in headlights. She was here for Miku, she should, was that Tetsuko. Kenshin. She should focus especially to make sure the Yakusa woman wasn't really threatening her. "I-I am here to write a blog for myself, not for my boss, but I am also invited by one of the artists and the bar owner is my friend." Why are you talking so much, she should shut up, just say she was here for work was more than enough, this woman did not need to know too much about her even if she was just socializing. Maybe even when Nori wasn't against quirkless, she was afraid and she had no one, no one to come home to, to run home to and hide. Would she be able to stand up and walk to the man who she thought was G, for protection. She just wished she had found a solution, "how-how about you? Just a relaxing night, tonight?" @iwa words notes MADE BY VEL OF GS

As she was going to Chimera, she heard a male voice trying to scare her with a "Boo!" and then grabbing her by thr wrist. Miku thinking it's a rapey perv trying to be a creeper, Miku quickly turned around and went for a crotch shot with her knee, only to see that its Darren who masterfully blocked it. It was only then that Miku realized what Darren was saying.... he was talking about the blood bracelet.
Then she pulled away her hand quickly, coincidentally the same time when he let her go. She then immeiatelly hid her hand behind her back, just so Darren doesnt see it. She watched Darren as he had that goofy shit eating grin plastered on his face as he said how he was kidding. Honestly, on one hand she hated the tasteless joke and the hand squeeze, but on the other hand, she did like being called a beansprout, not that she'd admit that verbally. And she did like the idea of sparring without the blood bitch. And of course, he did say she was wicked, which was pretty much one goal she was happy to achieve.
And oh yeah, he asked where the other nerdlings were. Ok, now how to convey this flurry of feelings and opinions and reactions... "Ok several things. First, rude dude. Second, thanks and I'd love to spar with you once. Third, I saw Chimera that way" she said as she pointed in the direction she saw Chimera She made sure to put the Rin hate on an all time low, otherwise she wouldnt shut up about her. And well, now was not the time to start talking about Rin and what kind of a psycho she was... and not in the good way like Darren is. She be cray cray
