The two week break after sports festival felt very much so needed. All the effort and worrying on Kirks side had vanished as he had gone through it, but even he wasn't immune to the bodily exertion that every single one of them had gone through. His grandpa had pretty much praised him in his regular fashion, which pretty much equaled a somewhat satisfied thumbs up, and a good hearty meal prepared for the occasion, letting his head finally plop down to not needing to think and worry so much about doing well. Heck, he felt like the sports festival had meant a great amount for him personally. And now he wanted to relax in his own way... Something sporty and energetic! He wanted to smack a ball for a homerun flight! He wanted to kick a ball into the goal! He wanted to make this the best celebratory two weeks of this semester!
"...So what you're saying is, that every single member of your clubs somewhere else in the world now?" "NONE OF 'EM TOLD ME!" "Well, with these dang japanese school schedules, it's no wonder they wanna take every chance they can..." "How am I supposed to have a good team time, with a team that ain't here?! You know, I earned it!" Doohan scoffed. "Come on now lad! You ain't this sort of a baby!" "S-SORRY GRANDPA!" "Let the kids enjoy vacation for hecks sake. I am more frustrated that you only found out about it now..." "What do you mean?" "Could have done something whilst your parents were visiting... but that's gotta wait till summer vacation now!" "sigh, even tetsuko said she and Elise will be back in a week..." "You checked that chat of yours?" "Huh?" "Atleast one of your bro's gotta be still around. And you ain't had any problems working out twosome before!" "...Good point!"
And with that, a quick discussion happened in the chatroom. Admittedly perhaps a little bit more depressing sounding than his usual self, but his search did bring up one of his bros. One of them who he sadly spent a little bit less time with, mostly cause he wasn't in the sports club or the martial arts club. Naoru. And there was a little bit of a reason for it. The way he had handled him in the Semper Fi had left him feeling very unbrolike in his presence. But instead of being angry, the boy had continued greeting him in class like any good friend would, and had always been ready to work with him in some class assignments that were harder for him to do. Honestly, he felt a little bit embarrassed about still feeling awkward.
However, that just served as a good reason to get a good effective, yet relaxing work out session going for the duo. Soon, he sent a message to Naoru about going on a simple jog through the suburbs. Perhaps eating something on the way, and then going back to the school to finish it all off. For Kirk, jogging was anything but monotonous after all. Well, it was still not as energetic as a proper ballgame, but it was better than nothing. And Kirks DEMANDED something, even with the previous strains.
At about 10 am (mostly cause he was allowed to sleep in instead of needing to go to school), He was at the dorms readily knocking at Naorus door, in his usual sports outfit: Red shortpants, white t-shirt, and his sturdy new sneakers, sort of a prize for doing a good job from his grandpa. "Good morning dude! You ready to go!?" He couldn't help but take these confused looks towards the newer looking students all around the place. Now, new people came in quite often... but this amount was absolutely insane!

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures Unsurprisingly, Naoru had some trouble arranging the little trip back home to visit his family. When their two week break was announced, he had called home to let his family know he will be free from school duties, and while everyone was happy to hear that, his father expressed worry about missing two weeks of possible studying due to a simple break. The phone call at that time ended with Naoru pushing the button a bit too hard after telling his father that yes, he should obviously study right at that moment too. He admitted that might have been a bit sarcastic and rude. He could not help it. When he was obviously not welcomed at home, he had to wonder for a short moment why he even bothered to get excited for a visit. It was a few days later when they talked again, and his father – with his brother and sister in the background – invited him over for a weekend. That time, it was by accident that Naoru ended the call, but getting his father on the line again within a few moments, they had arranged the time and duration of the visit. He was content, most of all. He was also incredibly nervous, because that meant he will have to introduce someone to his father, and he was unsure if he was ready for that yet. He had a few somewhat anxious thoughts on his mind when he was chatting those days, and as if noticing his worry, Kirk had jumped in to give him attention. In a certain way, they both needed it. Kirk had felt lonelier due to the break as most of the older students of the school were off visiting family or spending their vacation time accordingly, while Naoru was nervous in general for the visit that he will have to endure during the weekend. Kirk provided a much needed distraction, as Naoru was also alone with his worry. Sutetchi was somehow, magically unaffected. The text came just the day before their departure, luckily, so Naoru considered this the perfect opportunity to spend some time with a classmate who he interacted with when it was only necessary. Naoru barely remembered the last time they spent a bit more time together than just going to class and exchanging a few words. Working off a panic attack was all he could concentrate on back then, and he was not even sure if he was polite enough to say goodbye to Kirk that time. He hated himself for never clearing it all up, and leaving the boy confused and wondering. Maybe he will have the chance to change this now. He pulled on a pair of black track pants, running shoes, and a red zip-up sweater, nothing else. His Aura was a white scarf around his neck, calmly hanging from his shoulders. He chose to wear grey contacts, perfect matches with his pale hair that was pushed out of his eyes. He pulled on his black gloves just as he heard the knock on his door. Sutetchi was momentarily out, so he was alone in the room. Picking up only his phone and valet, zipping them both into the sweater’s pockets, he opened the door to greet his classmate. “Good morning to you too, Kirk-kun. Although it is quite late to be called a morning now.” He walked out and closed the door behind him, standing in the hallway, and walking down on it as soon as Kirk did the same. “Ready to go whenever. I have to tell you, I was quite surprised to be invited to a jog. I usually do this by myself, so jogging with someone else will feel different. But it makes me happy.”MADE BY VEL OF GS

Just as Kirk was about give another knock at the door, Naoru opened it, and greeted him with moderate excitement... Only to point out that it apparently wasn't morning anymore. "Pfeh, no need to be nitpicky!" He lifted his finger proudly up. "Perfect time for a morning jog is when you get up, you know!" It was a point alright. "Nothing wakes up your body better!" The small beads of sweat on the side of kirks face clearly meant it. He had jogged over here after all. But other than his physical being, actual truth behind what he was saying was of course a mystery.
When Naoru brought up being surprised about being invited, Kirk couldn't help but shrug. "Just hasn't come to mind you know! You should have really told me you have a tendency to do this too!" The main problem with noticing it might have been the fact that instead of out of school, Kirks morning jogs usually led TO school. And with him being a bit of a last minute runner, he always came almost late to class. "But I am just happy that you didn't go anywhere on vacation br-!" Instinctively, Kirk had wound up his hand backwards, to give him a gentle reassuring slap on the back, that everything was fine... Only for his arm to almost freeze in the air, as he awkwardly lowered it into his pocket. "...I-I mean, I'm happy that you are still here bro! Would have not had anybody to hang out with othervise, hehe!" He smacked his fingers onto his forehead.
Yeah, this was the main issue Kirk had with hanging out with Naoru. Being the physical embodiment of pushy bro contact like brofists and brohugs, made it very awkward to hang around a person that really didn't like to be touched. However, Kirk had pretty much made a mental note to try and avoid it as much as possible. And that awkward reaction was perhaps going to be the first of many times he almost forgot it. He really didn't want this to go like last time.
However, with Naoru seemingly prepared and ready, it was time for the first exercise. "Well, to get yer thighs warmed up proper, we have the PERFECT opportunity to get that blood flowing!" His arm snapped to the other side of him, pointing out this opportunity! "STAIRS! The gravity downwards should make it easy!" Admittedly, he had also hopped up them to get to his room so... "So! 3, 2, 1, LET'S GO!" And with that, Kirks energetic pace had been ignited, as he proceeded to the stairs and stomped down them pretty darn quickly for a guy his size. Still he assumed Naoru could keep up with ease.
"So, What did you think of the sports festival? Propably one of the tougher workouts in MY life atleast!" A sporty topic to start their sporty venture.

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures He comically raised an eyebrow when Kirk mentioned what the perfect time for a morning jog was. “In that case I think I am about four hours late for my jog.” His smirk was joking, as if starting friendly banter, but then his face gained the usual, calm smile he always wore when talking to friends and acquaintances. “Does that mean you woke not long ago?” He wondered, if this was his morning, if Kirk had actually slept longer usually. True enough, it was their break time, but that still did not mean everyone was able to sleep until noon. But he could see just from a glance that Kirk already started his morning jog; he must have ran all the way to the dorms from home. Without giving an answer he laughed a little when said he should have told him he was also jogging in the mornings from time to time. It would have been a bit hard to explain why that was exactly the case, but as if on cue, Naoru noticed Kirk’s awkward hesitation in patting him in the back. Without reacting much, he just stared at the boy who could feel the pressure under the awkwardness, but quickly waved it away and continued on as if nothing happened. Truth to be told, he was glad Kirk did not initiate physical contact despite being one of the more up-in-your-face physical-buddy students of the school. But still, it felt like he was handled like glass that would shatter under the wrong kind of care. He could not blame the boy after that meeting at Semper fi. But he will have to right him on that image soon, or Naoru would actually get annoyed at himself for forcing Kirk to hold back his natural personality. “Did all your friends go on vacation for the break?” He asked outright, just to get a clearer meaning behind Kirk’s words. “I can definitely try my best to keep you company while everyone else is away. I will only go and visit my family for two days, but other than that, I will spend my time here.”It seemed like Kirk was excited to get down with the exercise, and he decided to start their warm-up for the jog right inside the dorm hallway itself. Naoru followed where his arm pointed to, and nodded, although a bit blankly toward the stairs before understanding flashed through his mind. Oh. Running down the stairs. That made sense. His thighs and knees would certainly get a healthy blood flow from that to get him ready for more. He nodded again, this time more determined, and followed Kirk as soon as the countdown reached zero and he started running down. Naoru’s body was not actually fast. While he had built up a remarkable stamina, and had the dexterity of an acrobat that spent years in a circus, he was still only average when it came to speed. His quirk was much, much quicker than the rest of his body, and he relied on that in a fight instead. So naturally, Kirk had gained a little distance on him, but Naoru did his best to run down on the stairs with light footing, lighter than Kirk’s. Even if he was slightly behind, he heard what he was asked, and he hummed in response, controlling his breathing to be able to speak while running. “It was rather busy. A surprisingly big number of guests showed up, civilians and students from other schools alike. To be quite honest, the crowd was a bit too big for my liking.” He let out a little breathy laugh. “But I managed to get in a little training with those new battle drones the school made. So that was something.” The school festival was really badly timed for him, truth to be told. Even if he was more comfortable in a crowd, he could not take part in many of the activities due to some... problems. “And I saw a few of the matches in the tournament. Although I could not witness it all myself, but I heard you made it far into the tournament. Let me congratulate you, Kirk-kun! That is a great accomplishment, and I hope you think so too. How was it, being out there in the ring, being watched by the audience?”MADE BY VEL OF GS

Kirk looked at Naoru with wide eyes, as he indirectly told him how early he had woken up. and naturally the next question he was asked was "did you wake up just now?" "W-w-well...!" He proceeded to look away with his nose pointing to the sky, and fists on his waist! "Well of course not! I would never sleep so long as to miss a school day, even when there is none...!" However, his shoulders soon slumped, as he looked at Naoru awkwardly holding his bicep, like a child admitting something shameful. "...Yeah... But I couldn't help it, my body is still a bit tired after all the events, you know! " Of course his bros were diligent as always. Somehow he doubted Darren would wake up this early just to work out, but Naoru? Nah, Naoru was the sort of person who kept up with his routines!
Luckily, it seemed like Naoru didn't mind his little befuddling motion, and instead asked him another question. As awkward as it was too. "Well, yeah, that too... And at the best time for some sports matches too! Had kind of planned for it and everything... But, that's what I get for not telling em, I suppose..." Problem of timing. Telling about some other physically straining thing coming their way while in the middle of some other already was pretty much the opposite of moral raising. What Naoru said however, Was! And very much so! "Really?! Well, Alright then!" He patted his chest with his fist, whilst nodding excitedly! "Gotta make it a thing to join you on your morning jogs daily then! Gonna even wake up at YOUR hours for it!" It was very much a relief against his coming boredom without a lot of sports! And heck, it just proved that they were bros still that he was ready to put up with him that much!
But with all that, they were off! Surprisingly, Naoru was only running behind him. Kirk could somehow remember him being way faster at Semper fi... but come to think of it, he had used his quirk back then! That and that was a big ol spurt of speed, instead of a jog meant to work on your speed. Of course, balanced speed was important to keep yourself going, and even Kirk knew that. However, sometimes his excitement got the better of him, and he pushed himself and the people around him a bit too hard. A thing that he had been trying to hold back on. And with the club and some other things having been pushed on him... he was clearly a little bit more responsible about things he did.
Kirk nodded towards Naoru, as he was one stairpile ahead. From what he knew, that made sense. "Ah, so that's where you were!" He had wondered why he hadn't seen him anywhere. He hadn't exactly used the training bots during the event! However, Naoru had still seen some matches, and made Kirk slow a bit down, as he could feel a bit of pride getting to him. "Well, yeah! Gotta show that... SPORTS CLUB PRIDE after all! If I didn't do atleast that well, I wouldn't be good enough to be a leader, you know!" He couldn't help but feel like that. "Though, if I had fought Yumi or Darren... I think I would have been toast!" Just looking at their fight made him wonder why Darren had wanted him to be the sports team leader again...
As another question came his way, he was at the bottom of U.As stairs, and proceeded to run over the door, waiting for Naoru to catch-up. "Well, I've always liked that sort of situation! People cheering on what you do, getting points for your team! Nothing more satisfying than that!" He scratched his hair with a wide smile. "Feels a bit weird when its only like 2 or 3 people though... things become way more personal... You REALLY feel like you wanna win in there!" Just the tension of it all had pretty much ended up with him somehow beating Elise and Risaka! Of course, there were some clear factors, but the pure energy in that situation was undeniable! Although... "I'm just happy that my Grandpa was content with how far I got!" There was that as an extra kick to give him more of a need to win...
However... Kirk felt like he needed to bring up something. "It's a bit of a shame you didn't fight though! I mean, I get it, you are nervous around people but..." He stopped for a moment, like considering his words... he didn't wanna seem rude! "You would have done REAL well, I would say! I wouldn't have stood a chance against ya!" He opened the door and stepped out. "Could have even had a match like Darrens yumis! ...Man that sort of stuff gets your adrenaline going." Bros dueling each other... always hard to choose which side to cheer on.
With the sky as sunny as ever, Kirk covered his eyes a bit. "Well, never mind that. I thought about us running through the route that takes us to the park! That's one soccer field I planned using during this thing!" He tipped his head a bit to the side, glancing towards Naoru again. "That's fine with ya, I hope? We can go towards the city first too, if you wanna eat earlier?" Just making sure...

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures “It is spring break, so it is fine to sleep longer.” Naoru assured him with a smile. He had to remind himself that not everyone had trouble sleeping for long, or well into the morning, sometimes even into the afternoon too. Naoru was one of the few who went to sleep late and woke up early, but he did not quite advertize that he usually slept only about four hours a day. “They probably needed a little rest after the sports festival anyway.” It was no surprise the student went out for vacations now. Some of them were away from their family for a year, so they all needed to meet with them, or just do and rest away from the school duty. “You can do what you planned when the new school year starts. I am sure they will be more than happy to take part in whatever matches you planned.” He almost laughed when Kirk offered to wake up early to go on jogs together. But only almost. “Well, that would be a bit early, especially since you do not live in the dorms. Maybe it is better to move my morning jogs a bit later, so six or seven in the morning might be better for it, in that case.” He thought, hand raised to his chin, that it was okay to change his daily routine around a bit for Kirk. It would be no trouble anyway. Naoru kept a bit behind Kirk as they talked while running, though he could see the other boy slowing down and glancing back to make sure Naoru was still following. “The sports club members should be proud of you too. You really were great out there, so there is no reason for anyone to question why you are the leader.”He reached the end of the stairs too, and followed Kirk towards the door. “Ah, true, you are probably used to that.” The crowd cheering for the winners and the losers alike, it should be no different to the matches the sports club has. Thinking back, the question itself was somewhat redundant. A smile appeared on his face when Kirk mentioned his grandfather. “He must be proud of you too.”But when they stepped out the door and Kirk mentioned it was a shame Naoru did not take part, the white-haired boy’s face visibly fell. “I do not think I would have done so well...” He had his reason for stepping back during the sports festival. He did not take part in the tournament, nor did he take part in any of the other arranged scenarios made for students. It was not even the anxiety he felt in a crowd either. Toning out the watchful eyes was something that he became better and better at with time. But his quirk... During the sports festival, and even before that, ever since Semper fi, it was uncontrollable. He was afraid he would not be able to hold it back against another student in a fight. He did not want to think about what could have happened to a living, breathing person, if he already demolished battle drones by accident. He had not answered Kirk’s words, but before his silence could have become awkward, Kirk already changed the subject. “The route to the park sounds lovely.” He nodded with a smile, shaking off his anxiety that the previous topic brought. “I am not particularly hungry yet.” With his agreement, he expected they will be on their way, on the route Kirk originally planned for them. Naoru would follow just one step behind as his speed was not quite at par with the sports maniac’s. “Do you... live with your grandfather? I am sorry if I am stepping out of line by asking this, but you mentioned him, and I got curious. You do not need to answer if you do not want to.” He always said this. Whenever he felt he asked an overly personal question, he left a way out for the person he talked to. Naoru was curious, extremely so, but he was not pushy. If someone did not want to answer, he always respected that feeling, even though the need for knowledge would bother him for the rest of the day. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Naoru was one of those people who tended to shower Kirk with praises, and it was always a little bit funky talking with him because of it. Admittedly, It was not like Kirk wasn't used to telling that his bros did well! That was almost one of his trademarks as a coach! He just still wasn't used to it. Usually the loudest opinions were Darrens casual jabs about his skills and praises in leadership, Risakas occasional insults about his style of fighting being sillier than most folks, and overall well... how his grandpa used to talk to him about training! So of course, seeing the guy being so adaptable, after having done some rude things to him, seemed almost as weird. "NO, Bro! Brocode means, that if I join you, I should be ready to accept the conditions! Don't wanna make your workout routine wonky, if you get me!" Luckily, he always had brocode to fall back on in awkward cases like this. One of those things he learned back at grade school, and it just kind of stuck!
"Well, yeah! Especially now that I've shown I can do my thing well, hehe!" In that regard, he was already pretty calm about their reactions to him still being the sports club leader. Now he was ATLEAST as capable as Darren, and he had proof about it too, in case someone challenged him on it! Although, when Naoru reminded him that his grandpa was propably proud of him too, his smile got just a little bit wider. "Man, stop it, bro, my head is heating up!" He waved his palm towards him in a bit silly fashion, as he blushed. This guy was just too much in that regard. And running with a hothead was not a good thing to do in this weather!
However, once again, his praises about how well Naoru would have done in the tournament just lead the guy to seemingly get sad again. He blinked in minor frustration. Dagnabbit, he just didn't learn, did he? No forcing things on him, Or he will feel really awkward about it for the rest of trip! The next question he luckily answered without any issues though... "GREAT!" And he wasn't hungry either, so they didn't need to worry about that. That's just great! "Now then, get ready... and lets go!" Once again, the jogging began! Kirk started the proper jog by lifting his knees real high, which made him a little bit slower than usual, but offered a little bit of extra strain. That was until they reached the U.A gates anyway...
As he ran in place for a little bit to show his student card to get through them, Naoru threw another question his way. "Well yeah!" He said even before Naoru could properly apologize about being too nosy. "He moved here with me when I came to study here! Said that he wanted to 'keep an eye on me so that I don't slack around'!" He did the finger motion. "Although, I hope that's not the only reason he did it!" Well, atleast now that Kirk felt like he was doing well, he could assume something like that. The gates opened in front of them, as they went over and ran on the sidewalk for a bit, whilst he kept talking.
"You see... He is one of the quirkless dudes. Instead of gaining one, his legs seemingly just... well, went bad!" He scratched his head a bit awkwardly, as he transitioned into normal jogging speed. There had to be a better way to say it... "I guess its like nerve based, cause he doesn't even feel anything in 'em anymore..." This was one of those things that hadn't been surprisingly asked that often. Perhaps it was just the fact, that he himself didn't have a reason to bring it up in casual conversation. "That means that I usually push him around all over the place, or he really doesn't get out of the house." And it was yet another thing he seemed to be getting grumpier about too...
The warm springy winds were starting to push against them in a pretty rough fashion. But Kirk didn't seem to really mind. "You know... How is it like living in the dorms actually? i mean, it must be a bit more calm than having an old guy shouting at you if you walk too loudly upstairs!" Technically, it was always an option... but with his grandpa around, moving into a dorm would have meant he needed to run a little bit more. Not that that was a bad thing!
