PERSONALITY Veritas is an individual who highly values honor, and morals when applied to the world of villainy. This could often cause him to hate some of the villains because of how they act. Veritas is an individual who also has a lot of respect for the hero community, even if he is not one. So as a villain he tries to emulate them to a degree in that he will respect some of their regulations. Granted, he does not see what it so important about the "no killing" policy of the heroes, when you are dealing with the more brutal villains. As a general rule he tries to avoid killing whenever possible, although at times he knows it sadly must be done. Veritas does not like to use the more brutal approach, and so for a villain may come off as a bit of a softie. However, he can and will take down his enemies lethally if there is no other option but to do so. Veritas is also an individual who values his word. When someone breaks a promise to him he can be very vengeful. If a vigilante refuses to arrest, or helps him out, he will pay them back as best he can. This is a one time thing he extends towards any vigilante. Veritas is also territorial when it comes to other villains invading the turf he considers his. Should they do so he will give them a single warning. Should they ignore the warning he provides, they will then have a war with him on their hands. While he may not admit it to anyone, the death of his parents and the loss of his uncle at the hands of the same villain has impacted him rather hard. As a result, it is hard for Veritas to trust people. In addition, he tends to bottle up his emotions, leading to outbursts sometimes that could prove catastrophic to the person on the receiving end. Veritas has never experienced love, and does not understand what the emotion actually is, to be honest. This could be used by some of the vigilantes, or other villains to manipulate him if they were to catch his eye. In addition he does not trust easily, but once he has managed to trust someone he is fiercely protective of his friends. In other words, messing with his friends is not a good idea, even if you are a villain who is more powerful than he is, because he will find a way to make you pay for it. Veritas hates the extremists who want all quirk users dead and has made it part of his plans to eliminate as many of them as he possibly can, if merely, so he does not have to witness people he deems innocent dead. Another thing about him is that he would not tolerate it if sanctioned vigilantes used excessive force on villains who were under his protection, for example, ripping arms, or legs off, if the individual did not have a Regeneration Quirk, or similar. It would put the vigilante on the revenge list he keeps. Veritas is an individual who while he may be a villain could be convinced to help the vigilantes out, if they needed information, for the right price. Veritas has a love of inventing, and tinkering with machinery, and one day plans to make it to where those with Technological Quirks are the premier villains, and the others are their underlings, and the same is also true of the hero world, as it were. | APPEARANCE HEIGHT: 5"6 WEIGHT: 83 KG HAIR/STYLE: Red, Flat Top. HISTORY The vigilantes "Datasage" and "Code" were the parents of a child who would not share the same quirk as them, or their brother or in his mother's case, brother in law. Yet when Veritas was born it was partially good news to them, but also bad news. Good news in that both of them had always wanted a son. It was bad news in that if the public ever found out, persecution might happen, but worse, villains might take advantage of the fact he exists, and use him as a hostage before he could protect himself. As they did not know what kin of quirk that he would manifest, what they decided on was that he would be sheltered by his uncle should anything happen to them. Paperwork was filled out by them, to the effect. What they did not know at the time was his uncle was a villain, albeit a villain with honor. When a squad of villains attacked his parents, while he was there, Veritas tried his best to save his parents at the age of six. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful, and beat within an inch of his life by the brutal villains. His uncle found him, and took him to someone who had a healing quirk. The quirk was used to heal him. Sadly, the psychological scars there. No one should have to witness their parents be murdered in front of him especially like what had happened. Deciding to take him in, Connor decided he needed to learn how to hold his own so that next time, those villains would go down harder than expected. Veritas was for three years, depressed. His uncle finally broke him out of the funk with the promise that justice would be done to that squad of villains. While Connor put him through intense physical and mental training, Connor also contacted numerous villain associates of his who owed him favors. Using their connections, Connor arranged lessons in various fields for Veritas that would prepare him for what he needed to do. Education in gymnastics, acrobatics, and swimming was given to him by one of them who possessed an aquatic theme quirk. Easily grasping the basics of the training he was receiving in many fields of athleticism, Veritas continued to level up as it were. His skill at invention and technology continued to grow while his uncle started a "crime spree" as Cyberlord, taking down some of the more brutal villains making them lose their legs, or arms, or sometimes even have accidents that cost them their heads, literally. As the reputation of the identity continued to grow, it seemed history would repeat itself however. His uncle was attacked in broad daylight by the same villains that had attacked his parents, only with about ten or so more guys reinforcing them. Two of which were actually former associates of his uncle, turned traitor against him. To say it was a massacre was putting it mildly. His uncle was put in a state where he would need immediate life support, but was denied it. His last request when Veritas got there was that he make the crooks pay for what they had done. So Veritas kicked everyone out of his circle of trust deciding from then on to rely only on himself, and people he could actually learn to trust, and accept the help. Since then he has started preparing himself. |
