{ } It was great night, one of the first nights he worked here and he preferred the nights. Albeit his other job gave him a lot of evening things to do as well but the good thing was that it mostly hit the early mornings and right now it was about eleven pm in the evening and it was busy enough. He was get rather the hang of the tap, he would say he was rather a natural talent His cappuccino could use a better hand but barely anyone ordered that at his hour and after his own second cup that he made in the few minutes of peace, he had enough as well. So he focused on the cheat list that he had made or did he find this one so he could make the mix drinks for a while. People came to the bar to order at the red head but some were sitting at tables and he might have to go over there. However, he could now see that everyone had a drink and no one lingered on the bar, so he grabbed a towel to clean the glasses that were there, he had washed them a few minutes before. His eyes were on the glass, trying not to slip them from his fingers and make it break on the ground. He felt like a child while he was actually twenty-seven and to be honest, he did not like it. But a steady job was welcoming and the woman who owned the bar was very charming as well. The evening was rather going on steady and he should just keep that in mind and that he would like it as long as he get the hang of all the mixing ingredients and which glass belonged where. He wanted to know that all and not feel like a child. He wanted to have a conversation with the nice, pretty people and those were now all obviously having a conversation with their partners or friends. Maybe he had been so lost in the feeling of being in his 'Phuket' that he had not had time to make friends. He should change that, become friends with the staff here, with Delta maybe and he could try to find other people with interests. Where to start though? MADE BY VEL OF GS

My sole interest is uncovering the truth He had a very busy day today with his Crow persona. It was a productive day for gathering data for the next video for the channel. On top of that he managed to get some decent footage of a hero in action so he could study and learn a bit more from it. If he truly wanted to accomplish his goals, knowledge was the most important thing for him to develop. But all of that - no matter how much he liked it - was tiring and he needed to take a break from time to time and that was why he decided he could hide and dodge his duties for a while with a non-alcoholic drink or something like that in a place where most people are drinking and lowering their guards. It was interesting to know human nature at their most vulnerable, and fueled the right things inside his mind.
He arrived at the Fourth Corner by cab, generously tipped the driver and walked into the bar. He was wearing his casual clothes: a tan peacoat with black buttons, striped black and white tie, a white dress shirt, black dress pants and black thick leather gloves. His general charming look and his clothes showed he probably had enough money that he didn't need to mind how much he was going to spend at the location. As he approached the entrance, he took of his peacoat and hanged carefully before making his way to the balcony.
With a cordial smile, he greeted the bartender. "Good evening." he politely said as he sit on the bench, resting his arms on the balcony. His reddish brown eyes reached for the man in charge of serving them once again. "May I bother you for a small black coffee and a glass of ice water?" he said as he placed the money on the counter, with more than enough to pay for his order and give out a quite generous tip to the server. Once he did that, he grabbed his smartphone and started browsing it while he distractedly waited for his desired drink.

{ } A new customer arrived and what kind of, it did interest Akiva a lot to see the general body language as well as how people dressed. The Fourth Corner was a bar for everyone, no making a difference as long as you paid for what you ordered and so on. He could not help but look the man up and down who went to sit near him. Which was why he dropped the towel on the hanger, fixed the glasses back on where they belonged before turning back. Even if he was intrigued for a conversation, he did not want to seem pathetic, the man had his pride. So he did what he had to do and turned to the new customer when done. He greeted him back, polite, that was for sure, "Good evening to you sir." How much more did he had to perfect his own polite mask or how much longer could he trick on to the people, he was distracted, this Paradise, there was a reason why he was here and he needed to get on going if he wanted to find Ai. But not now, not tonight, tonight he would serve and do what this job demanded him to do. "Of course." He turned to the coffee machine not far away to get the fresh coffee beans crushed into the form of the machine holder and put that back in, a simple twist of left, then right and it would be stuck. He got the hang of this rather soon, yet checked if it was correct, he did not want to waste anything or make a shitty cup of coffee. He found the right cup above the machine and with a flick of his wrist turned the upside down cup the other way around and pushed the correct button before opening the fridge underneath the bar to get a bottle of ice water and fill that in the right glass. When he was done with that, so was the coffee. He fixed an easy plate, added the normal things you needed on that, in case the customer wanted a little piece of chocolate, a spoon, sugar and well the milk was in another can but he would bring that too and turned back to the bar and put it in front of the man. "Here you go," He put a friendly smile on his face, that was his job after all. But he could not help but wonder, considering the money, that Akiva took and put in the register, wanting to give him back the change, why he seemed to flaunt around being rich. Wasn't that dangerous? MADE BY VEL OF GS

My sole interest is uncovering the truth Fifty four thousand views on the video he had just uploaded at noon, that was quite impressive and showed just how much his channel and his fame was growing. He was swaying public opinion on his life as a vigilante, and with that he knew he would soon gather a legion of blind fans that would follow his every whim. That was a very powerful tool of manipulation. Little by little he could increase the violence in his actions, and even maul or maim some of the scum he would face as some sort of heavenly punishment for the weakness in their morals and actions, and once that was made normal and acceptable to the people, he knew he could push even further and gather more allies and minions, all important tools in his goal to break today's society, essentially destroying its foundations and throwing the world into a state of endless chaos. Chaos is necessary in order to rebuild something, to reshape to the image you idealize. And once that has been done, he would have the world on his hands and his Justice would prevail above all else. It was still far from becoming true, but he was working his way, one step at the time.
Meanwhile, however, this wicked and sociopath mind rested in the sheep skin of a charming young man who was politely ordering a cup of coffee and some ice water. Such a straight arrow who wouldn't even dare to taint his pure mind with something as filth as alcohol. He could smell the coffee beans grinding and the smell was pleasant. They do say the sociopaths do love their coffee, especially black, no added flavours, nothing to take their sense of taste away from the bitterness of the world. And that was precisely how he took his coffee. When the bartender came with all the add-ons, he politely and with a kind, bright smile, waved his hand in refusal. "I appreciate your wonderful service, but I don't need any of those add-ons. I take my coffee black." he said in a very polite and friendly way.
Nonetheless his apparent distraction with the smartphone and the drink in front of him, which he slowly took a sip with quite a lot of class in his mannerism, he notice the slight hesitation with the cash he had given. "I don't need my change. The rest is for you." he said as he placed the phone on the table and looked at the bartender with his reddish-brown and friendly eyes, giggling a bit.

{ } Oh shit, he was so focused on doing whatever you had to do with the service, is that he forgot to pay attention to the note of just black coffee. How idiotic, how dumb, he should pay attention with people and what they said, he did not have to focus so much on everything and what were where and what belonged where, it was ridiculous. He wished he had the whole thing in his fingers, be already a master at how this, maybe he should just practice at home. Which felt like he was a high school boy again, which was ridiculous. With a simple motion of his hands, he took the spoon, the sugar and so on away and gave a wry smile, he did not like to be embarrassed. "Oh right, you said black coffee." He himself preferred black coffee compared to the cappuccino he made earlier this evening but it would be better not to try more coffee. No... change? He looked at the yen in his hand and put it reluctantly in the tip jar. For god sake, he wanted to pocket it but he did not. He had to play the role of the good guy here so this was how it worked, "That's very generous, thank you very much." He wondered why would people do that, what kind of person was this man if he would just be so generous with money and not care about anything. "Anything else you need sir?" It was best to ask, the menu card was maybe a little to far away from where he sat but still, how did you handle customers, without seeming to be awkward, pathetic or too noisy for that matter. He did not know what to think or say. He would see, a conversation might happen or not. MADE BY VEL OF GS

My sole interest is uncovering the truth The quality of the coffee was good. Not impressive, but definitely on the above average tier, he thought as he tasted it with a couple of short sips on it, carefully putting it back on the saucer and drinking a bit of his ice water, to get the cold sensation right after the hot; he loved the duality and that was the main reason he would always ask for a glass of ice water with his black coffee. The server quickly remembered that he had indeed said he wanted just a black coffee, but he didn't think much of it; he had worked on this side of the table before, though not exactly this one, but you can get the picture. Before his ascension as a social medial idol, he was a regular worker who had to struggle all the same. Those types of almost brainless functions can be rather draining, and people grow used not having to think a lot to perform their function. Makoto casually waved his hand and shook his head. "Please don't worry about that. Every thing is perfect." he said with a gentle and understanding smile.
He giggled a bit, though, when the bartender said he was very generous and thanked him for the kind contribution to his barely living wage. "Not for that. It's my pleasure to help out. I used to work in a similar job a while ago, I know the struggle. It's my way to give back some of the success I've achieved." he said as he leaned his chin against his open palm, staring at the man serving him, who promptly asked if he needed anything else, to which Makoto just shook his head. His eyes seemed very attentive, as if he was consciously trying to read in between lines and discover things. "You look a bit fresh, if you don't mind me saying." he giggled a bit at his own statement, finding it rather amusing he could see that details in the man's body language which led him to reach such conclusion.
Maybe he was right, maybe he was wrong. But he was usually right about such things. In any case, uncovering the truth of things was also one of his hobbies, so why not try to get to know this random stranger a bit? His day has been quite prosperous thus far, so why not try and entice a stranger?

{ } The person was a fascinating being. The ease of the day and the gestures were what fascinated the new bartender. Everyone had to start somewhere, that thing was sure, but he wanted to skip those steps in what he had to do now. Him being a rookie in this field was something he hated, he did not have much time to practice and yet it made perfect. Mumbling on the list of ingredients to some cocktails while no customer was looking or near him to hear, right now he was obviously not doing that. He remembered how easily and charming Delta spoke to him and everyone else at the bar. She was an inspiration, even for the likes of him. It was maybe a bit embarrassing to the red-head that his shoulders lowered a little and he felt the tension leave when the customer said that everything was perfect. Perfect huh, that was interesting, though he liked his specialty to go for coffee but he could not really pick a favourite already. He tilted his head, this made for an interesting conversation. "That brings perspective in my life. Hoping I can achieve success as well, though at the moment I am only here temporarily." What to tell, what not to tell. He would see how the conversation goes, he had nothing to hide like this, but his surname. For now. He was sure his mother had hidden what he had done, but you never knew with the Chinese government. Had they already found the body? He did not know, couldn't care less. He had done something wrong. He had to relax his muscles, it would be weird if he now made a fist of his right hand. His shoulder dropped a little more, it was not easy to hide that you were new, never. Especially not if this guy was a former employee in a setting like this. "Yes, I am trying my very best but it's a lot to take in, especially on busy evenings. I think this is my third week." Maybe fourth, but he was of course not here every single day and also not all the same hours. Maybe he could show a bit of his own charisma tonight, talking to a customer, his inspiration being Delta, and he would try to keep that in mind for now. More he did not need to do. MADE BY VEL OF GS

My sole interest is uncovering the truth he must have done something right as he could sense the tension from the bartender to slowly diminish and that made him giggle a bit more in some odd satisfaction as he took yet another sip of the freshly brewed coffee. That bitter taste poured his whole being with energy and life. He was somehow addicted to the beverage, but that was not something uncommon in the modern world. Maybe it was the words he said about starting humbly and growing into being able to generously tip a possibly minimum wage worker in a bar. Hope was a powerful tool and he knew that all too well from all the days he was powering through the intense pain in his heart, in the hopes of having a little more affection from his distressed and mentally unstable mother. It was something that could either give you life or outright kill you, something the powerful and wise would know how to use; and he liked to think he was learning that well.
The red haired man spoke to Makoto, saying he was only a temporary there and he nodded in acknowledgment. "I see..." verbal reinforcement was also a good way to keep up a conversation and showing he was a good listener, and in fact he was; a careful attention to details was a trait he had in his very core. What better way to gather information on people? And information was a part of knowledge and one of the many pathways to ultimate power. "Depending on how strong your ambition actually is, success is just a matter of fighting your way through an horde of sheep and show the world you are the wolf." he said with a sly smile on his lips. "Only problem in that is most people don't know or don't accept the fact they are actually sheep. They are too comfortable with their wool keeping them warm from the sharp cold of the world. It's a complex matter, but here I am, babbling and digressing! Hahahaha!" he paused, covering his mouth as if he was ashamed, but his eyes had no trace of shame whatsoever.
When the man said he was trying his best, Makoto wasn't too sure. He seemed distracted at first and that's definitely not a trait from someone trying his best. "Are you now? That's good to hear!" he said, leaning his head to the side for a second while keeping the sly smile on his lips. "It can be overwhelming indeed, but then again, what is life without some challenge to spice it up, eh? Hehe." he asked before pausing to take yet another sip of his coffee, followed by the ice water he had also ordered.

{ } Even if it was such a shitty job as being a bartender, he had to make every job perfect, it was to keep in line with the work, people might tend to do more for him if he was friendly and funny to hang out with. He did not only do it for that, he liked hanging out with people and socialize as long as they were worthy of his time. Sometimes he did not even know himself when those moments arrived but at this moment, he could deal with the man at the bar. He could deal with Delta, who knew what more things might happen if he only focused and put his time on it. He rubbed the knuckles of his left hand, if he did not get distracted by too many women, men, other jobs he could do to get more cash, to find the right informant breakers, whatever he wanted to do. He had a job to do, he had to find Ai, he did not know too much about his little brother, they had the same sort of quirk or well where it original came from, definitely not how it looked and worked, they had very bright red hair and so on. He could dream the list without even paying attention to it, the only good thing his mother had told him. What if Ai was looking for their dad? At one point he had to go back to China anyway. Better face the problems, if they already found it or would it be okay and did his mother fix it. He doubt she knew what he had done though. His brown eyes kept a look out on the man in front of him, that explained in a rather strange but interesting fashion how society worked this time. Akiva did not agree with society, he did not agree with the government and how the people acted on that, it was annoying and childish from both their sides but it would not fix anything anyway. He got the same sly smile on his lips, oh yes, he knew he was a wolf but he would not be afraid to admit that he liked it among the nice sheep that he sometimes bumped into. It was maybe so distracted that he was among them more often than he should. "An interesting way to phrase it, if I dare say." The laugh, so many things Akiva did see but did not want to understand, customers could be customers, they did not have to be enemies. When the man asked with a rhetorical question if he was, he almost felt attacked, but he simply gave another smile, he was distracted but yet he had not lost the goal in front of his eyes. Well he rather not had this spice. "Time would tell, I mean everything takes a bit of time to learn, it would be boring if you can be perfect in everything at first try." He wasn't sure if he believed in that, maybe he did, maybe he did not. MADE BY VEL OF GS

My sole interest is uncovering the truth Makoto arched one of his brows when the red-haired bartender told him his analogy of a world of sheep and wolf was an interesting way to phrase it. "Interesting? That's a curious remark, but I will take it anyway." he said, giggling a bit while he took another sip of the black coffee; the mug was still half full. There was something about this man. He was a bit hard to read. He felt distracted, but at the same time that evaluation didn't look quite right. The young man leaned his head to the side in a quite curious expression as the bartender spoke back to him, telling him that some things take time, and how boring it would be if you could be perfect at everything at first try. That made the customer chuckled a bit, covering his mouth with the back of his hand, which was still covered by the leather glove. That was quite a strange thing, not to remove gloves while inside, but the young man with brown hair didn't seem inclined to take them off in the slightest. Unknown to the bartender, he had a perfectly good reason not to do so, as he didn't want to expose the scars of his palms; a taint to his charming appearance.
He leaned a bit forward as he continued to stare at the man in front of him. There was something tease-able about him, as if he was trying to fit into an unfitting persona. "Would it really be boring? I wonder. I can't claim to be perfect at everything, but, perhaps, being able to achieve such a wonderful accomplishment would allow this blessed individual to shift his or her focus away from the mundane. I wonder what such a person could accomplish, without the drag of perfecting and polishing his own skill set. Maybe... Just like you said, he would fall into the dark pit of boredom. Or..." and he widened the sly smirk on his thin lips. "He would conquer the whole world and re-shape it to his will." he added, pausing for a moment, before laughing about it. "Again, I'm digressing and blabbing! I am truly helpless, my friend!" he said, clapping his hands in a muffled noise due to the leather gloves he was wearing. "I'm bothering you and I wasn't even kind enough to introduce myself." he chuckled, shaking his head in disapproval of his own attitude.
"I'm Makoto Fujiwara. A humble social media manager. How should I call you the person keeping this bored guy company this evening?" he asked.

{ } "Ah that's good, it was more or less a compliment. It's a very specific way of phrasing it but that makes it only the better." It also makes it more realistic than he liked to admit. He should get his head into gear and get to the point of what he had to do. He wanted to be the wolf or better yet, he wanted to be the lion. He barely used his quirk lately but that was okay, he was capable enough of not needing it. He now only noticed the gloves that his costumer still wore, he wasn't surprised. He seen a lot things in the days that he worked here and in the days on the streets, working in the dark alleys made you not lift your eyebrow anymore with such as simple thing as gloves. He himself was not one to hide the tallies on his knuckles or the shadow tattoos on his body but he did use the bandana to hide it, it was unpleasant when people stared at you, they already did enough with his bright red hair and he wondered, right there and then, if that happened to Ai a lot too. He remembered his mother seeing him and comparing him to Ai, they had a different face, albeit the same strong jaw line, it was probably his quirk but their hair both so fierce. The young man his words were teasing, charming and tempting Akiva. He did not actually like to admit it, he did not hate it either. "If you phrase it like that." His words were the most interesting words, first the comparison with sheep and wolf, hiding, not remembering or not wanting to show because it was easier. Boredom could be also used for losing the stupid idea of mundane settings, how to tap the perfect beer, make the best coffee, he should not care, he should focus. This bar would be his way in, his talk to the world, his alibi, while in the back of the streets behind the Fourth Corner, they would come to know Beastbane. But he liked where the conversation was going, this man was very intelligent and could maybe bring Akiva back onto the path that he wanted to find, he was lost in Wonderland but the path was there, if he wasn't looking it showed up the brightest. He would find Ai and he would continue what he had started. "It's nice to meet you," He gave a small nod with his head and smiled though, charmed was that the right word, "My name is Akiva Xerxes." It worked that he had some distinct features, such as his eyes, that he could get away with a name that old in history, little people knew. "Your company is very welcome." The man himself decided to say, he did not want this guy to just leave right now, not when the conversation made him see his path, not when he enjoyed it really well. No need to fake that. My sole interest is uncovering the truth His smirk widened a bit when the man introduced himself, as his name was just as unique as his looks. "Akiva Xerxes... Am I pronouncing it right?" Makoto cracked a thoughtful expression, touching his own lips with his index finger and giggling. "That's a quite unique name, but I must say it matches your unique looks. One of a kind indeed." he added as he nodded, taking yet another short sip of his coffee and then resting it on the counter once more. The young man leaned against the counter and stared at his companion for this night dead in the eyes. There was curiosity in his gaze and some genuine interest. "I'm glad to hear that hehe..." he paused, closing his eyes and leaning his head to the side a bit. "Because I'm quite enjoying the company as well. And if I may be so bold..." he paused and moved his head to look around the place.
There was some people around, the place wasn't full, but every single one of them were different in their own way. With their own stories. Of course most of them would end up falling within a spectrum of boredom that would place them as cattle, while others would stand out with their own uniqueness. "Have you ever stopped to analyze the pattern of the regular clients here? Have you ever stopped to, on a balance of probabilities, classify them as either sheep or wolf? Or maybe the bittersweet middle ground in between? A shepherd dog, perhaps?" he said, chuckling lightly before staring back at Akiva. "I tend to do that a lot. I like studying people... Sometimes I just daydream of what role they would play in a society that is not so soft as ours..." he shrugged, giggling a bit as his eyes sparkled with something, almost a fiery passion of sorts. "Sorry! I can be a bit odd at times! Maybe it's the honesty that the balcony infects us with! Haha!" he ran his hand through his brown hair.

{ } People tend to be liars, which was a perfect mix of the world of wolf and sheep, some did not even know if they were liars but with the talk from the man opposite him, Akiva had an idea that he was not being lied too, that meant to him that Makoto had not met Ai in his life. "You pronounced it correctly indeed," It made him grin, offering him some pride with the compliments the man gave him, damn, so easy, but to be fair Makoto was rather handsome to look at, Akiva was certainly not complaining. Which only made it better when Makoto, pretending to be shy, careful, considerate, he did not know, added that he enjoyed his company as well, which only made the red haired man slyly grin. He absolutely did not mind at all. While it was probably not allowed from his boss, it was a sort of habit that he leaned close to the bar and simply propped his elbow up, leaned on his hand with his cheek and looked, chatted, whatever, he normally tried to tell himself he should absolutely not do that but, well habits. The conversations were going so smooth, so in his mindset that he could not deny it, he did not want to deny it and thus he followed the gaze of Makoto, to look at the customers around. The man only became more interesting and he eyed him now instead of the people, listening to the words he spoke. "Daily." Was all he said, "I don't think it's strange at all. It rather keeps life more interesting than anything else for that matter." He decided to stand up and grab a glass of water for himself, which was allowed, else they would not be able to talk at the end of the day, no one to serve, which made it easy to be distracted and to talk to Makoto, "If I would not do such a thing and stand here day in, day out, without interesting conversations or interesting and handsome people such as you, it would be dull."
