| I will bring you Elysium, all you have to do is reach for my hand~ | | And now for the latest updates on the mysterious fire that broke out in Kabukicho- As the TV reportage was unfolding a certain woman was seated at a counter, twirling a pencil between her fingers. Her name was Rebecca Lancaster, a lady of British origin who had journeyed to Japan alongside her grandmother a few years ago in search of a most peculiar ambition. The aforementioned grandmother was actually seated on the couch, her gaze cast over the newspaper she was holding and peering to the television screen. "Another fire? Geez, I bet it's one of those Quirker kids again."Rebecca couldn't help but smile at her grandmother's words, leaning back slightly in her chair while musing softly. "What do you mean Grangran?"Her grandmother lowered the newspaper and turned her gaze toward the jet-black haired lass, explaining further. "Surely you seen and heard about it before, them kids with their quirks are frequently getting out of control. In some cases the government been able to deal with it, like that new school in Musutafu that supposedly teaches them how to wield their power in a more 'responsible' way." The elderly lady chuckled briefly, clearly hinting at the sarcasm in her voice while Rebecca raised a hand to her chin, musing softly. "So you think that this fire was started by a Quirker?" Once more the senior nodded her head, a curt and firm gesture to show just how confident she was about her statement. "A quirker, an idiot or both, considering the fire escalated this quickly, I'm betting a Quirker with fire properties was involved."Fascinating, so there was someone out there whose quirk allowed such intense fire to be unleashed. Noticing the silence from her granddaughter she turned toward Rebecca and inquired with a hint of curiosity. "I don't like the look on that face of yours Becky, that's the face I used to have when I had a scheme brewing in my noggins."She laughed briefly before continuing her inquiry. "What you be up to this time?" The question made Rebecca spin her pencil a few times as she answered with a calm smile. "The Elysian Garden has been doing well, right?" The Elysian Garden, a new establishment within Tokyo that was often branded as a cabaret of sorts, although it was more correct to call it an 'entertainment complex'. After she and her grandmother moved here, her grandmother used her connections to gain ownership over this large building, a feat done pretty easily considering part of it was still under construction, and for the time being couldn't be accessed. However, it provided everything they needed. There was a gigantic room with stages where people could perform, an open plaza where shows could be performed, and even adjacent building where she had her own personal office, a collection of rooms which could serve as sleeping quarters for staff among other things. "It's not doing too shabby for the time we been open." And yet, it wasn't enough, something Rebecca was certain of. "But it isn't doing great, we're lacking something Grangran. A type of entertainment that can only be found here, we're lacking excitement, we're in need of certain 'things' that our regulars can't provide. At this rate we won't win against the Fourth Corner..."Hearing the last part caused her grandmother to burst out into a laughing fit. "Thinking about that four-armed minx again aren't you? Hah! Whether it's because you want to impress that lass, tease her into showcasing your superiority, or just plain stubbornness, I like it when you're up to your usual shenanigans!"Seeing her granddaughter rise up from her seat the old woman mused softly. "So, how you plan to find that thing you need?"Seeing how Rebecca approached the window she could already expect what was about to follow, but still... Seeing how she smiled so lively, a playful salute with her fingertips and announced that "By following the sparks of excitement~"? It was enough to make the elderly lady sigh in amusement as Rebecca jumped out of the window, her wings spreading and soon hovering down along the alleys of Kabukicho. "Damd girl, can't you use the stairs?"And so the young woman was making her way along the streets of Kabukicho. Amusingly enough it wasn't too hard for her to figure something out, the fire happened not too far from the Elysian Garden, and there was a certain saying that 'troublemakers always leave a trail', and in this case, that was surprisingly correct, as the arsonist her quirk left a small trail of embers to pursue, all the way to an abandoned warehouse, the door seemingly left on a slid, as if it was inviting her in. Peering inside the darkness the young lady couldn't help but hum in amusement. "Where are you my lively little flame~ Surely the fire of your passion didn't burn out already~"A playful chuckle escaped her lips as she folded her wings and called out. "Don't worry, I'm not with the police, nor do I plan to call them."She could only hope the arsonist was someone who didn't necessarily act violently right away. While she had a healthy amount of energy from her earlier consumptions at the Elysian Garden, she truly doubted she was in any state to fight, if anything flight and escape seemed more likely if it turned into a conflict. Still, one could easily wonder why in the world Rebecca had chosen to pursue the arsonist. The answer was simple: she had some ideas in mind, a scheme one might call it, she would call it a creative business plan. Of course, it would all depend on what the young arsonist would do, especially with the sound of sirens being heard far away, but fortunately not approaching upon this location. "So~ Willing to have a conversation? I do quite enjoy etiquette, and from what I been told the people of Japan are quite fond of proper etiquette and respect~ Although they are a bit less 'intimate' than I'm used to~" | +1000 WORDS

Maeko Lee: A Different Type of 'Overheating' 766 WORDS
OOC: N/A | Maeko hadn't planned for it to happen this way. She wanted to enjoy the moment, to revel in her victory. To sit back and watch the flames burn as people futilely attempted to put them out. To watch the building burn up in ashes up into the night sky, until piece by piece there was absolutely nothing left of that ugly building. And yet, she couldn't even do that. What started as a mere accident, growing angry at her own lack of determination, her own temperature just kept rising and rising until it happened entirely on its own. The interior of the small apartment building she had snuck inside the back of was suddenly engulfed in flames as her hair caught onto the curtains and simply began to spread from there. She could hear people further up in the building, they were smelling smoke, and before she knew it there were sirens in the distance. Never in her life had she been so dissatisfied with how she burned something. It wasn't even going to crumble to the ground, stupid people and their stupid fire departments.
So she did the only thing she knew how to do. Maeko fled from the scene as fast as she could. Her hair trailing behind her, burning things that it came across. From bits of paper strewn about, charring against the paint of a wall, her frustration was making her even angrier. How did anyone get to enjoy themselves in this city? Villains were all over the place, there had to be, but yet she hadn't encountered a single person. It was almost like the cops and vigilantes, let alone the new breed of official heroes, were keeping them underground. No wonder her... hobby, was so dangerous. If only she was strong enough to not worry about getting caught at all... The thought made her smile with glee as she continued to run, dreaming of a time where she was strong enough to just burn anyone and anything that attempted to stop her fun. Although she had to admit, the adrenaline of getting away scot-free with it too was also quite amazing.
It was too risky to go home like this. Her hair was too long, and she was still too excited. Even if it didn't happen how she wanted, even if she was dissatisfied and it happened on its own... It still made her feel good. She couldn't help but attempt to look out the window of the warehouse she had found herself in. Staring out like a kid on Saturday morning watching cartoons. It wasn't a perfect view, but she could still see the flames from her distance, and it made her feel absolutely amazing. She did that. Even if she had to hide, even if she wasn't strong enough, she was powerful. A sick twist of a smile formed upon her face, grinning like mad as she continued to watch, completely lost in the view.
She didn't even notice anyone else had intruded upon her little safehouse. It wasn't hard to find her, of course. Her hair was burning out ridiculously long distance, leaving a trail right to her. However, the words she spoke with froze Maeko to her spot. The passion of her flame? Just who was there? She really, really didn't feel like turning around to have to attempt to murder someone else. Ever so slowly, she turned around to face the speaker. Maeko was, for the most part, taken aback. She was beautiful. Not to mention, her wings and horns upon her head only seemed to look quite fitting for her. Just who was this strange woman to somehow find her? And more importantly, how?
The reassurance that she didn't seem to intend to call the police was appreciated, especially with all the worry still bundling up inside of her. Maeko simply began to pull her hair closer towards her, the flames ever so slowly shrinking as she took deep breathes, in and out, relaxing a bit as she attempted to focus. A normal conversation? She didn't exactly buy that. Nobody tracked down a wannabe villain just to chat with them, unless... They had something they wanted to say. Growing a bit more intrigued, Maeko finally opened her mouth.
"I grew up in America, so I don't know about this whole respect shtick, but I'll bite." She spoke calmly, staring directly at the demoness before her. As calmly as she could, anyway, given the circumstances before her. "I'd rather not speak to someone whose name I don't even know. Tell me, and maybe I'll talk."

| I will bring you Elysium, all you have to do is reach for my hand~ | | Rebecca couldn't help but chuckle heartily the moment Maeko finally answered, the calmness of her voice and the gaze that was aimed directly in her direction being one which left an impression of confidence, a feisty and fiery nature which suited the girl with flames dancing along her hair. "An American~ Do not worry, even if our origins are different, I am confident that there are plenty of ways we can reach a mutual 'understanding.'" Yet the words that followed soon led Rebecca's eyes to widen for a moment as if she had just come to a realization of sorts. A smile lingered on her lips as Maeko told her about how she'd rather not speak to someone whose name she didn't even know. "It's a disadvantage we both have my dear~ Unless you'd prefer to be known as Arsonist-chan"
Raising a hand to her chin Rebecca hummed for a moment as she seemed to be considering something further. "But such a name lacks beauty, flair and excitement and is quite unsuited for you. A maiden whose hair dances with fire.... mhmm a 'Flame Haze' might suit you more, don't you agree?"
As if her words had been meant to lighten up the mood, yet after a moment she continued, her friendly tone still there. "But, I'd be a poor hostess if I were not to entertain your request~"
A playful curtsy followed as she spoke, her lips curving slightly. "You may call me 'Asmodeus', Owner of the Elysian Garden, and I come here bringing you an invitation~"
Certain that her words would cause a reaction, Rebecca gently raised herself upright again, as she continued speaking. "I saw your little performance earlier my dear Flame haze~ And I can't help but feel so saddened: Why do you let yourself be caged like this? Are you truly satisfied like this? Chasing your desires, and having to run as soon as they are within reach?"
It was all conjecture of course, but she still planned to play along. "Such a tragic way of living, you deserve better~" She turned around for a moment and mused softly. "Do you not wish to reach greater heights? To let your flames be seen by countless people, for them to admire and worship your fire, like the heroes of yore were praised?"
It was a good thing her grandmother and her time at the Elysian Garden had taught her a thing or two about acting, and with her wings spreading she hovered a few meters into the air and spun around. "Don't hide in the shadows my dear~ Stand on the stage and show your talents with confidence and pride~"
She slowly hovered closer toward Maeko while she continued her speech. "Of course, you'll have everything you'd desire at your disposal: A place to call home, a warm bed, food, companionship, even money and fame~ As long as you don't end up trying to burn down the garden, it could all be yours~"
When she finally ended up in front of Maeko she gently extended a hand in an invitation gesture as mused softly. "I could make you reach Elysium my dear, all you have to do is reach for my hand~"
Whether she would accept it or not, Rebecca would laugh softly afterward as she added. "Ah~ But you'd likely be wondering why I would make this invitation to a total stranger~ For starters, how about telling me your name, so that we aren't total strangers anymore?"
A playful wink was made by the demoness as she awaited Maeko's reaction.

Maeko stared at the individual before her. Arsonist-chan? She couldn't help but laugh quietly and shake her head. The woman even seemed so genuine when she suggested an actual name. Flame Haze? The name only made her shake her head even more. And yet, a soft smirk began to form on her face. She seemed way too friendly, too genuine in her expression, to attempt to be a trick of some kind. Asmodeus. Owner of the Elysian Garden. That was a place that she had never heard of before, but as the woman continued, there was only one thing clear to Maeko.
This was a job invitation.
She didn't know what to say, except laugh quietly and smile a little bit wider in response. Sure, she was tired of running away. Of being caged, unable to truly enjoy her flames. But standing on a stage? That was something else entirely. Still, she was admittedly incredibly tired of staying inside that stuffy kitchen and burning the food she was ordered to cook. There was something just so tempting about her words, so convincing that she had to immediately give it some thorough thought. The thought of being seen by countless people, amazed by her flames instead of being put off by them was something to consider. Of course, Maeko enjoyed the idea of people running in fear of her intense, overwhelming flames. But this... Was something else.
A wider smile began to spread across her face as she watched the woman even hover. A home too? Food? And money? It simply felt too good to be true, there had to be some kind of stipulation. And yet, as the woman reached out a hand in invitation, Maeko only laughed. She held her hand out, only for the heat radiating off of the skin to be rather visible. Even as close as Asmodeus was, there was no way to ignore the intense, radiating heat spilling off of her. "I don't think you'd want to shake my hand, I think you would probably enjoy keeping your hands." A soft, slightly sadistic chuckle spilling out of her mouth, betraying her true nature for a moment before she continued to speak.
There was obviously that unknown question. Why would she invite her of all people? Was she just desperate for talent that she was searching for pretty much anything? Still, knowing she had an admirer of her talents only made her smile slowly shift into a smirk. She felt confident, something she hadn't felt in quite some time. "Call me Lee." Of course, it wasn't entirely untrue. Lee was her last name, but it was such a common last name that there was hopefully no way to trace her back if anything went sour before things even began. "It's nice to know my talents are appreciated by at least one individual in this town, but I suppose it only intrigues me. Why me, hmm? You're not afraid I'm going to burn down your precious garden? Or you, perhaps? I'll be honest, I could use a job. Money doesn't exactly make itself, and you can only imagine how much money I burn through." A fire pun, how appropriate.
"Tell me, Asmodeus, Why do you want me? Hmm? I might be hot-headed, but I'm not stupid. Be honest."

| I will bring you Elysium, all you have to do is reach for my hand~ | | Asmodeus's lips remained formed in a calm and gentle smile as the little arsonist laughed at her joke, yet she seemed even more entertained when she mentioned the suggestion of the title 'Flame Haze'. The sight of the smirk was a sign that the girl was entertained and enjoying herself, that was a good sign. After all, in her field she had learned to take in such details in people's mannerisms. Still, it seemed that judging from the lack of a response to her introduction, that Asmodeus pouted gently. "My dear, you sound as if you never heard of my establishment before~"
Asmodeus began as she raised a hand to her cheek, fingers tapping lightly as if she was lost in thought. "I'd say the easiest way to describe the garden is to call it a paradise for those who seek excitement and entertainment~"
After her invitation it appeared that Maeko was considering the offer, the silence, the smile, in Asmodeus' mind the girl must had been considering her options. Certainly, she must had been tired of running away and being caged, unable to truly express herself, and yet the concept of standing on a stage and having her be admired must had felt foreign for the girl. That wider smile, hints of sadistic enjoyment coming from the girl while Maeko seemed to be radiating an intense heat, one which surely could scorch the average person in a matter of moments. Even from here she could feel the warmth, and yet perhaps she was the most suitable individual to deal with the playful taunt of the girl.
Boldly the woman stepped forwards, ignoring the heat as it started to encroach upon her body, and with Maeko having showed her quirk, it was only proper that she would do the same. A subtle glow radiated from her horns as the temptress attempted to gently embrace the girl, a gesture which would noticeably start to cause the heat to dimish in intensity to the point she would feel like a pleasant heat cushion for someone to hug during a cold winter. "I'm certain that people would love to cuddle someone like you during the winter~" Asmodeus teasingly whispered into the girl's ear and would finally release her attempted embrace.
"My dear, honesty was part of every word I spoken so far~" She answered calmly as she stepped back and with an almost mesmerizing sway in her step continued. "Why you~ A good question, if I was to give a simple answer, I would say that it is because you entertain me~ The more complex answer?"
She turned toward the girl and grinned. "You remind me of myself when I was younger~ Your actions scream a desire to be free, to be acknowledged for who you are, to live a life bound only by your own rules~ I do not fear the possibility that you'd burn down my garden, if worst come to worst I'll give you an experience that will melt 'you' and turn that raging flame into a kindling ember for a while~" She licked her lips with a smirk before she continued.
"There are only two rules within my garden~ The first rule is to leave your trouble at the doorstep, don't bring the problems you cause into the garden, the second rule is quite similar: Never get into troubles I can't save you from. Because should you accept this invitation." She extended a hand toward Maeko, her smirk turning into a sweet smile as she continued. "I will consider you family, and there is nobody within my family that I would abandon."

Maeko was still confused in general, but that confusion almost immediately turned to intrigue as soon as the woman began to step closer. Her horns glowing slightly was the only clue that her quirk was being used, asides from the strange feeling of tiredness that suddenly washed over her. She could feel it happening, suddenly growing drowsy. Along with her energy slowly fading, her signature heat began to diminish, the flames on her hair shrinking down massively. It was an interesting sensation that she hadn't really experienced before. She almost didn't even realize she was being embraced, blinking in surprise as she looked down at her hands. Cuddling? Now that was certainly something that had been entirely out of the question until theoretically just now.
As soon as Asmodeus backed up, Maeko fought against the sudden exhaustion and promptly began to burn up once again. Her flames burned brightly, but not quite as much as before. It was an experience unlike any other before, but she could certainly understand why the woman wasn't afraid of her. All of a sudden, Maeko's temptation only grew even more as she listened to the woman. She reminded her of herself? Maeko couldn't resist the urge to chuckle quietly as she internally debated. The only two rules were to not get the garden in trouble, or get in too much trouble in general? That seemed relatively simple enough.
But there was definitely something more about this woman than met the eyes. That smirk fading into a smile didn't change her opinion in the least. This woman was dangerous, certainly not someone she would ever want as an enemy. If she could just put her to sleep at any time, her of all people with enough energy to run a marathon without breaking a sweat, then surely there was more than met the eyes. Even as she held out her hand, Maeko stared at it for a few seconds before eventually speaking.
"You can stop trying to convince me, I'm already thinking about accepting." Her own smirk returned however, crossing her arms over her chest as her natural heat aura began to spread once more. "I have a few conditions of my own. You know what you're getting into, so I won't bother to explain." Obviously, this woman already knew she was an arsonist. There was no doubt that she was hiring a villain, but Maeko wasn't about to just waddle along with her plan like a homesick puppy.
"Number one." She held up her hand as she spoke, just to clarify her point. "Don't ever use your quirk on me again without my permission. That is, unless you'd want me to do the same to you." Of course, Maeko's quirk was infinitely more destructive than just making someone tired. Her sadistic smirk came back onto her face in full force, despite her attempts to quell the expression. "And secondly, I'm more than capable of defending myself. Treat me with respect, and we'll get along fine. Otherwise, I don't want a single thing you have to offer." All that she did offer was tempting, however. This job supposedly came not only with benefits, but a place to stay. The sheer amount of money saved on rent was more than enough to be considered. However, her secret was exposed to this woman and she would fight for her ability to keep living how she wanted. If this woman ever crossed her, burning down the garden would be just as easy as any other building.
"As long as we have a deal... Consider me hired. Probably best to wait for the police awareness to drop, but I assume you know exactly what you're getting into." She reached her hand out this time in offer to shake, her skin still burning hot. To Maeko, this was a test. She would actively prefer to have her handshake refused, the exact reaction she was expecting. If she made her tired again to cool her down and then shook, there was no way she'd ever consider it. After all, that was one of her few conditions. Maeko simply stood there, a casual smirk on her face as she locked eyes with Asmodeus. "Well?"

A momentary pause remained as she listened to Maeko's words, her expression remaining the same as the girl told her there was no longer any need of convincing her about joining the Garden since she was already considering the thought of accepting the job. She seemingly had a few conditions of her own, one that made Asmodeus blink for a moment as the girl made her first point. "I wouldn't want to fight you my dear, there is a difference between making sure I can show my appreciation for you, and having to 'use' my Quirk to protect myself, the latter would lead to me suffering burn injuries, and you having every droplet of life sucked out of you, after all surely you know the things a Succubus can do in folkslore?"
She smiled briefly yet seeing that sadistic smirk led to Asmodeus to shake her head. "It has nothing to do with disrespect Lee, nor do I doubt your ability to defend yourself, it's a matter of principle: I only take those in the garden who I believe I can trust to share that paradise with. That is why I said my earlier words, because I hope that in due time you will think of me as family also... and then it's only natural to want to protect each other, correct?"
Indeed, the girl seemed so confident, so assured she could deal with the world by herself, that she didn't need anyone, but Asmodeus knew that some challenges you couldn't overcome on your own. "So while I won't use my quirk on you as long as you aren't at risk of 'getting too hot for your own good', I can't make promise that I will abandon you on your own just because you're capable of defending yourself. That is something only mere strangers would do, and there are no strangers in the Elysian Garden."
She turned her back at Maeko who commented about it being best to wait for the police to drop but the woman shook her head lightly. "And this is where you underestimate me my dear~ Come along please, I'll show you the power that your 'Onee-chan' has at her disposal~"
She smiled at Maeko's hand, as if showing her a test when the succubus did something unexpected, she reached for Maeko's hand, feeling the scorching heat on the palm of her hand as she gently wrapped her fingers around Maeko's own, humming softly. "You really are a stubborn one, but so am I~" She laughed briefly as she attempted to guide her along, and unless stopped they would soon arrive outside where a police officer was searching, his eyes briefly locked onto Maeko before turning up to look at Asmodeus.
"I see you found your little sister Miss Asmodeus? Better take her back home soon, there is an arsonist on the loose, so it's best to stay inside for now."
Asmodeus merely smiled at the police officer and hummed softly. "Thank you for your concern officer, I'm certain we'll be fine, the Garden isn't that far from here, and I believe My dear sister is quite hungry right now, so we're in a hurry~ Have a fine evening~" And with that greeting the two were left behind as Asmodeus mused softly, trying to ignore the heat in her hand if Maeko didn't turn down the warmth of her skin yet. "See, there is more than just raw power when it comes to solving a situation~ And I am quite skilled at this type of 'fights', although I doubt it be a wise idea to bring you along on a visit to the mayor anytime soon~ too hot-headed for that~"
