King of Anything [G & Hanako]

Even if Hanako did not hear him, she had a pretty good guess what he wanted and thus got the chocolate spread and was getting plates before she got up with the mess that was the jar and the edge full of chocolate spread. She still had the worry in her eyes as she asked G if he was doing okay once he was in the kitchen. Trying to catch the look in his eyes by looking at one eye and than the other to focus if she saw something. She bit her lip softly to not say too much now, to not worry too much now but he kissed her worries away. 

She could smile again before turning back to the task that she had given herself to make the sandwiches and thus asked him and he gave her again this adorable expression. "Hmm, I like that." She said with a grin as she turned to make the sandwiches, it was easy now because even if she just thought that eating too much chocolate might be bad for her, it was indeed simple and quick so she made her own the same way. Tempting to put chocolate on his lips but she refrained from doing so and would have lunch at the kitchen island that their house had. She felt tired, she had maybe slept badly, she could not sleep very well lately anyway but now that she had answers about health and gender, it might be a bit better now. She would get upstairs to take a quick nap, after thousand times apologizing that she would need that before they could enjoy more of their day together, now that they both had no work for today. 

He probably forgave her anyway but that did not make her feel less guilty, on the other hand, he could see how quickly she fell asleep. It took about an hour before Hanako would wake up again. 

As she was alone, she got up with a bit of a trouble but hurried into the baby room, there she found the stupid overall that she got for this room. Put her hair in a bun so that would not become a problem and found the chair she put here and tried to fix the last of the panel on the wall close to the door. Only one half done and she would be done with the background and she could work on the trees. She would tiptoe to reach the upper part. 

She had left him in the bed, he deserved some good sleep as well so she did not want to bother him, she did give a soft peck on the cheek before trying to get out of bed, not the easiest task nowadays and make it to the room next door. Even if it had no lock, she was sure that G would not come here, he never did. It used to be a study but she had decided to make it the baby room. She had not lied to him about the room, he did not seem too concerned yet with making things baby-ready for that matter. She had almost finished the light gray background one more flick of her brush and she would be done. 

Tiptoeing to reach the last upper part of this wall, she was soon done and was looking at her handiwork, no spots left? No bad brush strokes when she heard her name behind her and she turned around, forgetting to set her foot down and she felt the chair wobble, oh, oh no, that would be bad. She dropped the paint brush, no problem she had protected the floor but even if she would be able to remain upright, she felt hands around her hips before she could even fall and was lifted off the chair and put back on the ground. 

She did not know what to say and pouted at him, "You can't be here." She said softly and a bit whiny, it ought to be a surprise, but he probably did not listen to that as she would be in a dangerous situation with the chair and all and she bet that he would be focused on that, she leaned with her forehead against his chest. Now he would see the room before it was done and her hidden stack of books, baby socks and a little baby mobile for above the crib which had little things related to the ocean because he asked her to marry him at the ocean and she thought it would be lovely. He should not see this and she decided to push him to the door but that did not really work but she could try. "G~ you should not see this yet!" 

She sat on the ground too, on her knees and tried to see if G would listen to her and focus on her instead of looking at the room. Did she feel at least a bit guilty? Yes, she did. She gave a wry smile and looked at him because he seemed to be clearly not ready to move out the room and she did not want to push him but he should not see it. She noticed him looking around and getting up and she wanted to push him down again to not see but he already asked and she clenched her hands in her lap and looked at that. She did not know where to start when he asked or basically it was a rhetorical question if this was the baby room and she nodded. 

How would she start to explain why she did not ask him for help. "I thought that-that if I did this by myself I would come to be... I would be more... more okay with everything?" She said it more as a question which had not been the plan in the first thing but she decided to not be embarrassed, "I only wanted to do the walls myself and show you." She smiled now though, forget being embarrassed, be proud. She pointed at one half of the other room where she made a bit of the forest that she had in mind, she had tried it out if it worked to make sure what she was doing. "I wanted to do that and just because I do not go to work, I had a lot of free time and when I went shopping with Delta and Bashira as well as by myself I found these books and those baby socks are the most cutest thing I have seen in the world." She stood up to take them to him and show the little yellow and black striped socks as if it were little bees and the mobile, "I found this and and I thought if he is anything like you or well at that point I didn't know it was a he, but the love for the ocean and... I just tried to not buy anything without you so I hid it here." Now it was like a crime confession while it was not something bad. She looked at the things in her hands before looking up with a shy expression to G, she did not know what he thought now. 

She still felt a little guilty for not telling him, but considering she did that a lot and how guilty she felt about it, she absolutely did not seem to learn about doing it in a different way. That was dumb if you ask her. But she would do that, she would tell him what she thought or did and why. He would understand, he seemed to understand everything anyway. She smiled when he gave her the kiss and when she showed him the baby socks, (thank god she had stopped herself from buying more than five pair) and the mobile, he hugged her again. "Yes, our baby will be the cutest." She smiled as she leaned into the hug before he let go of her. 

She looked back up from the bee-baby socks when he said he was glad he found it unfinished, which made her pout a little but stopped doing that as he continued and she looked at her hands which was soon one as he took one of her hands which made her look up to him again and in his eyes. It made perfectly sense that he wanted to help in the room too, she should not deny him and she nodded, of course, of course he could, she was doing a lot better now, she was fine and she couldn't stop the smile from spreading on her face. "Should we, do you think we can go look for baby furniture? I mean we need a crib and a dresser for our little one?" The problem was how to bring that back home but she would be fine if the shop would have delivery, that would make thinks even more perfect. 

If G would agree, she would rather do that at this point but she would not deny him helping her paint, he could, she did not think anything was wrong with that, it was the best if they would do the baby room together, she had been maybe a bit too selfish when she wanted to do it all by herself and if she continued like this, it would never be done on time. 

So that's what they did for the afternoon and thank god the shop where they went had delivery and they would deliver it on Wednesday, when Hanako was home, she had to go to work tomorrow as there was a meeting with her boss with how to continue her work if she got the baby or if she needed a real assistant, for a second her thoughts went to her intern, but no one knew about that. 

The best thing to Hanako was buying that and ending that evening up on the couch watching some documentary with G on the couch and their take-away food in front of them. Best part: she had a chocolate milkshake and she could lean against her man... that was until he got a message and she was left alone.
