So this is Yuuei, huh? It's nothin' like back home. Everyone bowin' and shit while grinnin' through their teeth. Sycophantic suckups...
But she had to admit that the food was pretty darn tasty! It was the one thing she had been hyped for! Lots of different meats cooked in steamy buns or arranged with vegetable medlies on sticks; like it was mad crazy how talented these foreigners were at their craft. But, at this particular moment, Riley wasn't focusing on food. She sat in silence on the bench within the locker room, warming her body up as she ran through her combat exercises. Eating before a match was not a good idea, 'cause she'd likely puke all over whoever she went up against. She had to represent Chevalier D’Eons in a positive and respectful light.
After all, they had taken her in when no one else would. Those people...those damn people. "Ah...I-I-"
She grit her teeth in frustration, reeling her fist back and thrusting it forward to slam into a locker. There was a terrible crashing sound as her fist went through the metal and caused it to shake violently as it was rend asunder.
Riley just buried her face in her hand for a few moments, collecting her thoughts as figurative steam billowed around her. She couldn't be doing this. What if she went all out on her opponent? Could they take it? No, the better question would be: Could she take that risk? Riley was mad strong and it was the one thing she was good at...hurting people.
She didn't have time to think further as her name was called to approach the arena. Her long ivory hair wildly danced along her body, lightly smacking against her crimson sash, as she sauntered along the hallway. A single large bolt of silvery cloth wrapped firmly around her chest to cover up. She wore the bare minimum in an effort to not be weighed down. Riley had to admit that it had an added advantage against males she fought against, but it was only a minor adage.
Riley ascended the stairs barefoot and observed the crowd around her. Blazing eyes glared at those who cheered in a cacophony of infuriating noises. She just crossed her arms in mild annoyance as she awaited both the announcer and her opponent to get this match underway.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! Thank you for waiting!" The announcer billowed. "Today's match is now underway! Hailing from the frozen lands in North America, we have L'est Chevalier D’Eons very own Oni, Vandal!"
She just stood stock still, observing the girl who would approach her. This girl, with hair fairly similar to Riley's aside from the golden hue, was built solid. Short in comparison to Riley's much taller stature and not giving any hint in her bodily mannerisms. Quite the enigma. Alright, blonde. Let's see what you're made of.
"And let's not forgot our very own! Hailing from UA and the land of the cherry blossoms itself is the fiery fighter Ember!"
The crowd erupted in applause at the two girls who faced off against one another. Riley just ignored them as she approached Jasmine. She held her fist out toward the other girl for a fist bump.
"Don't hold back, understand? I want to see sweat and blood, as much from me as from you. Got it?" A slow grin spread across her face to coincide with a knowing nod. "Remember to have fun now, eh?"
After the initial greeting, Riley would immediately begin the fight by rushing Jasmine. She would be looking to test how agile the girl is, so she would start with an obvious right handed hay maker aimed at Jasmine's face.

Finally, they were here. Finally the fighting festival had truly begun. Jasmine was calm as she sat in her locker room, eyes staring at the ground as though she was trying to glare a hole through it. Her first opponent... Riley something. The American couldn't remember the girl's name. Only what they called her - Vandal. An interesting choice of names that likely spoke miles in regards to how the girl fought. This would be an interesting endeavor indeed. It had been a while since she last fought a quirk-wielding opponent seriously, much less being observed by so many people. The last time... the last time something like that happened was in the underground fighting arena in Kabukicho. She smirked; if this was going to be anything like back then, this would be a cakewalk. Her outfit this time around was different. Due to the occasion, her 'tailor' had opted for a different set of colors than what Jasmine usually wore. The whites were replaced with gold and a short leather jacket was added into the mix. The short skirt was replaced with short-shorts, coupled with extremely elastic yet durable thigh-highs with her sigil emblazoned on the side. Simple, elegant, yet at the same time screaming character... was what she had said. Oh well. Jasmine didn't really care so long as it didn't restrict her movement, and this garment was perfect to move around in. Heck, she may actually ask to turn some of it into her actual hero outfit. This thing was great. Before long Jasmine was already in the arena, face to face with the green-skinned Vandal staring right back at her with a certain glint in her eyes that the New Yorker too easily identified. Looks like she's rearing to go... good. "Oh wow, they actually introduced me as Japanese. That's actually kind of funny," Jasmine spoke in clear-cut English, a little bit of her New York accent showing. When Vandal approached, Jasmine accepted the fist bump in kind, offering a challenging grin in return. "Yeah, yeah. Just make sure you keep up." The haymaker was immediate as soon as the fight started. Jasmine saw it clearly, approaching her like a goddamn wrecking ball ready to bust through whatever stood in its way. The blonde lioness, all things considered, was more than capable to either evade or block it. However for better or for worse Jasmine's pride suddenly clawed its way into the forefront. Some may argue what she was about to do was tactical more so than prideful... if you were to ask Jasmine, though, she'd tell you it didn't matter. She needed to make a statement, and boy could the explosive Ember provide you with a show. Instead of dodging, Jasmine simply tilted her head to the side so the blow impacted the side of her face. Her world shook for a split second, forcing her to bend her knee a little after the initial impact so she wasn't forced to back up too far. That... hurt. Yet it wasn't anything that she couldn't handle. She remained immobile, eyes shadowed by her long blonde locks as a grin slowly spread across her face, "That all you got?" She asked, her voice low and challenging as her fingers wrapped around Vandal's wrist, encasing it into an unbreakable death grip, " My turn." Her other hand acted immediately, palm pushing against the Oni's stomach. The first shot was always the easiest. The one that cost nothing; the one that was a simple 'warm up' for her shoulders before the recoil actually started hurting. A statement. A declaration of war. A challenge and a dare. That's what Jasmine was issuing with her next maneuver. Within a split second everything went white before the stadium echoed with the sound of chaos. Within that mere moment, Jasmine unleashed one of her strongest explosions point blank at her enemy, intent on blowing her to smithereens. -Jasmine took the first to the side of her head, found it hurt, began gouging her opponent's strength -Grabbed Vandal's wrist to keep her in place -Pushed her other hand's palm against Vandal's stomach and unleashed one of her strongest explosions point blank
Low-key inserting Jasmine's theme in this PvP tourney:

To say that Riley was surprised would be an understatement. Although, it was actually a pleasant surprise to see this girl confront her like a real fighter. As opposed to dodging, which was what Riley was counting on, Jasmine had shown that she had guts. Riley's blow connected directly with the blonde's face, causing her to falter for a moment. A few seconds passed as the two remained unmoving, frozen in time as Riley watched to see what Jasmine would do. The fuck is this girl made of?She felt the pressure around her wrist before glancing down. Her eyes widened in shock at the realization of the grapple and attempted to pull her arm away. No dice. It wouldn't budge from the iron clad grip and, as she was busy with focusing on her arm, she was unable to comprehend that a follow up attack was imminent. Jasmine's palm slammed directly into Riley's stomach and, while her durable body was built like a brick house, it hurt like hell. The Oni coughed in mild pain, some saliva spilling forth from her mouth. She growled in frustration at her carelessness, annoyed that she had underestimated the UA challenger. "Damnit." She growled. But Jasmine wasn't finished. The palm strike was merely a preamble to the real attack! But this time Riley was ready to anticipate the attack, steeling her resolve as she watched in wide eyed fury at the fiery strike that was building up. At the moment that Jasmine would unleash her spectacular explosion upon Riley, the Oni would build up a massive amount of fury laced strength to slam down on Jasmine's hand to free her. However, this wouldn't help her much. The explosion would go off on her to ultimate effect. Letting out a roar mixed with anger and a smidge of terror, Riley would be sent flying through the air. Her body crashed onto the ground with a massive Thud! and her form would still continue to slide along the ground, occasionally bouncing up and down through the air to final crash a final time at the end of the arena. A small stream of blood would follow from where Jasmine stood all the way to where Riley rested at the edge of the arena. The Oni coughed, spewing out a small glob of blood as she wiped at her mouth angrily. She thrust her hands down on the floor, vision blurred from the attack. She could barely comprehend what had just happened...the world was spinning. What was this girl's deal? Riley had never been hit so hard before! An attack like that... She felt her heart pounding in her chest. The adrenaline flowing. The anger and the pain all coalesced together in her mind and body as she pushed herself up to stand shakily, turning to face Jasmine. The majority of her lower abdomen was bleeding, but Riley just smiled through the pain as she glared at Jasmine. Her eyes were clouded over and veins were popping out from her neck and arms as she bellowed forth an enormous cry of rage! "EMBER!" She cried. Riley had lost all semblance of control. She had let the Oni out and it was time to play. The green girl would charge at Jasmine in same fashion as her previous hay maker attack. Except this time, she would be charging with her horns at the forefront of the attack, in similar fashion to a bull. Jasmine Noir WC:579

Her attack had connected quite... explosively. Jasmine was actually surprised how effective it had been given how durable the other girl seemed. Yes, Jasmine could be quite lethal when she wanted to be, but Vandal didn't look like a mere pushover. Frankly the girl seemed like a miniature Red Horn, if the American were to be painfully honest. So when her initial explosion managed to tear through skin and muscle the girl was forced to raise a brow, a shred of worry seeping into her mind; had she gone too far? Jasmine gave one glance towards the referee who was watching the scene unfold, bewildered and clearly unsure of what to do. Should he call it? Was it over? The blonde scoffed; you're really going to watch two teenagers beat each other to shit like this for sport? Society was, for better or worse, completely and utterly fucked. Yeah, sports like boxing and whatever the hell else have you had kids competing in it, but never did it get as bloody as this. She snarled at the ref who very quickly caught her gaze and recoiled. Fucking asswipe.Yet, Jasmine's worries seemed to be for naught. She hadn't gone far enough. Not yet, anyway. The crowd had quieted down after the initial counter by Ember, a deathly silence filling the area with one thought and one thought alone. Was she dead?
"Idiots." Jasmine's eyes narrowed as she very slightly bent her knees, preparing herself. "She's coming." EMBER!Within what anybody else would've considered far too fast, Vandal came out of the rabble, charging at her in all of her gloriously bloody grace. Jasmine simply watched as the girl approached, analyzing the situation and trying to come up with an explanation for what was going on. Her explosion had practically torn through the girl's abdomen; how the hell was she charging her with such ease and without a single shred of self-preservation? Could she have somehow lost control? Was that what her quirk was? Regardless of that fact, Jasmine couldn't let her get too close without a strategy in place. That previous hit to the face that she took was powerful - far too powerful to be able to tank too many of them. She was still feeling it and boy did it fucking smart. If her theory about Vandal's quirk was correct, that made those fist twice as dangerous as they were before. As a result, Jasmine resorted to go on the defensive for a short while. Waiting until Vandal got close, Jasmine brought both of her hands together, clapping her palms with a sizable amount of force. The result? A small explosion brighter than a neutron bomb ( yes, yes, artistic flair, not fact, sue me!) escaped her palms. It yielded virtually no force; it's only goal - to stun and block Vandal's vision momentarily. Whether it would affect the juggernaut remained to be seen, but frankly at this point Jasmine had too many questions and not enough answers about her opponent. Within the same frame of time, the blonde American thought two steps ahead and collected some C2N14x into her feet, launching her into the air and over Vandal moments after her quirk's equivalent of a flash bang erupted from in between her fingers. Yet, despite the defensive-minded action plan, Jasmine was a fighter that fought in a style most would consider Blitzkrieg. Her defense far too often doubled as offense at the same time. As such, flipping in mid air, the blonde quickly turned and attempted to release several weaker explosions from her right palm at Vandal's back, at the same time readying her left arm to fire off an explosion into the ground should she need to immediately evade. Quick maneuvers, stay airborne, maintain a distance, do not give her room to breathe, that was Jasmine Noir's plan going forward, at least until she understood her opponent better and had a weakness to exploit. Until then, she would play it safe. -Jasmine released a flashbang-like explosion right at Vandal's face as she approached -Via an explosion at her feet, Jasmine launched herself above and over Vandal, dodging her horn charge -With her right palm Jasmine released a series of explosions at Vandal's back -Her left is ready to 'bounce' her higher into the air should Vandal attempt to counter-attack

There was no care. No thought. Riley only saw red paint her vision as her mind continued to spin from the hit she had taken. There was some small voice calling out to her in the back of her mind. It was telling her to stop, crying out...almost begging for it to end. But The Oni didn't care. The Oni just wanted to hurt the puny girl before her. She threw her full body weight toward Jasmine with blind fury, awaiting the feeling of bone crunching. But it did not come. In fact, as Riley neared the blonde she beheld a build up of...something in her hands. Just as her addled mind began to piece together what was happening, she was too late once again. Jasmine's quirk enabled flash grenade erupted in Riley's face and the green girl let out a ferocious roar of pain as her entire world went white. She clutched at her face with one hand, while wildly punching at the air with the other. The crowd had gone deathly silent. No one knew what to make of this as Jasmine flipped through the air to deliver a follow up attack of smaller explosives. Riley's skin was thick due to her mutation and the berserker fury rendered all pain moot. She felt them slam into her and she grunted at each hit, but all it did was make her angrier. But what the explosion did reveal was Jasmine's location. Vandal spun around on the balls of her heels to face off against Ember, one eye closed while the other was only half opened. Her teeth bared, grinding so hard that blood leaked out and trickled from her gums. "Blood for blood." She growled. She saw the girl readying a blast in her other hand, but Riley was unsure if she was using it to attack or to escape. It didn't matter. She could take as much damage as the girl could dish out, so might as well go all out! Riley charged at Jasmine with reckless abandon until she knew that her distance was close enough for an assault. Hoping to catch her opponent off guard, Riley built up all the strength her quirk would allow into her leg muscles to launch her at Jasmine. Her right arm reaching out to the blonde's head in an attempt to grab hold and bring her crashing down to the ground below. This was the only action going through Riley's head, as she was only focused on bringing one thing: Pain. Jasmine Noir

This girl...! Jasmine grit her teeth with some annoyance when she saw that, while her explosions might've been damaging, they did very little to deter Vandal. Seeing her move Jasmine was almost positive her quirk had some kind of strengthening effect that went along with the visual mutation of Riley's body. It looked like the berserker mode that the girl entered was some kind of weird side-effect of her using her ability and it seemed like a high pain tolerance was something of a bonus. Whether it was a heightened tolerance or an all around immunity - Jasmine hadn't the foggiest. What the American hero-in-training was sure of, however, was the fact that it was trouble. Both for herself and for her opponent.
Jasmine was already somebody who very often went overboard against her opponents. Maxi and Ryuusei were two most vivid examples of this. The two boys had been utterly decimated each time they faced her, and they only had the willpower to withstand quite the bit of pain. Only when she was able to deem them unable to pose any kind of threat to her did Jasmine stop, and that usually entailed them being in too much pain to move. With that in mind... how did you deal with someone who couldn't feel pain? Where did you draw the line? If she could move even when everything in her body was broken and Jasmine wouldn't even be able to tell, what then...?
She shook her head; no, that was a thought that could bother her later. There was still the matter of even being able to get to such a situation. Considering how relentless Vandal was the lioness knew nothing of the sort would be easy. This girl, even without the green and the horns, looked like a monster that was out to get her. The glare, the grinding teeth, the snarl... it was potent enough to make Jasmine swallow down the saliva that she wasn't aware had been collecting in her throat. She felt a familiar chill run down her spine: a chill that told her that she was in danger. A chill that...
No! Not this time! I will not lose control again!
Jasmine herself barred her proverbial fangs when Vandal turned to attack her, charging her without a shred of hesitation. The blonde's now-crimson eyes widened in stark surprise when Riley leaped towards her at speeds quite a few times faster than what she had expected. Even if she should've expected that, especially because of her training with Red Horn, Jasmine had little to no time to feel sorry for herself. She needed to act and she needed to act now otherwise she knew there would be hell to pay. If she was caught now, it was very likely she was going to lose the fight... or have to kill Vandal to get her off of her as soon as the juggernaut began battering her. No, neither option was viable.
So when Vandal was close, Jasmine pointed her left palm directly at the charging beast, bracing herself by grasping at her wrist with her right. Sparks crackled along her left arm before she released another one of her strongest explosions right at the charging beast... almost as though it was a desperate countermeasure to get Vandal away from her. Yet this, too, was calculated. Jasmine was still above the ground. An explosion of this size, considering her weight and her position in the air, would generate enough force to get her out of Vandal's range... assuming the explosion wouldn't knock the beast out altogether.
Generate force it did. Jasmine was sent flying backwards at such speed that even she had surprised herself, having miscalculated how much strength she put into the explosion. Her heels dug into the ground as she braced with her hand, her fingers clawing at the pavement as she slid backwards. When she finally stopped at the edge of the arena, Jasmine glanced back for a brief moment as she huffed an uneasy breath; two or three joules more and that would've been a ring-out. She needed to be more careful.
Steeling herself, Jasmine got into a fighting stance once again, collecting herself and weighing her options at the same time as her eyes scanned the dust and debris that her quirk had just caused, waiting for Vandal to emerge.

Riley's arm was mere inches away from the blonde's face. She could almost grab a hold of her...this fight would be over within minutes. All she had to do was slam her into the ground with enough force to knock her out. At least, in a perfect world, that was the plan. Unfortunately, Ember seemed to be full of little tricks up her sleeve. Just as she was falling through the air, she had readied another intense blast. This time Riley could clearly see what her opponent was planning and she braced herself for the attack by throwing her arms in front of her body in the shape of an X. The heat of the impact slammed her in the head first like a jackhammer. Her skin was capable of taking quite a beating, but this point blank blast was intense enough to blast the Oni girl back several feet. Even while bracing herself, she left a trail of broken debris in the arena's ground where she had been pushed back. Riley collapsed to one knee, shakily looking down at smoke billowing from different parts of her body. Stop this. Just stop it...this is your chance to take back control. Damnit, Riley, just look at yourself? You can't take anymore of this...
For a solid minute, the girl was motionless like a statue as she kneeled in place. The crowd was agasp as they looked on at the smoking combatant. Even the referee, who believed her to be incapacitated, took to the arena. He approached the girl with caution, reaching out to check her pulse. Her eyes were glossed over, clouded and without any registered thought. However, as he was about to reach her, the referee took a step back as she shook back to life. Her pupils reappeared within the murkiness of her vision and dilated awkwardly until they returned to normal. Riley cracked her neck, bones popping and crunching loudly. She moved her arms in a circular motion which garnered more disturbed popping. She rose ever so slowly to her feet with her gaze focused on Ember. She eyed the ref with a look of wide eyed fury which silently stated to stay the hell away from this fight. Not yet. This isn't done...back the fuck off.
The man took the hint and quickly retreated from the stage as Riley turned back to face Ember. Her face was blank, as if the berserker fury had faded. No animosity was exuding from the girl who had flown off the handle moments ago and she simply began walking toward her opponent with purpose to her step. Her hands raised up in the air in a sign of peace as Riley made every effort to not appear hostile. As she neared the crimson eyed blonde, she would stand directly in front of her with a sad smile to match with her eyes. Riley leaned in to whisper to Ember. "Ember...hk!...I'm through. My body won't take much more."She turned to cough to the side, a small gob of blood splattering on the ground. "Lucky that hit knocked...eh...sense into me. I've not felt defeat before. But losing to you...I can accept this. On just...one condition."Her eyes narrowed sharply to stare deep into the blonde's. "I'm going to put everything I have...into one last punch. To go out with a bang, ya know? I expect your hardest, most powerful hit in return. What do you say? Want to show these bastards what we're made of?"Vandal took a single step back before turning her head to regard her opponent. "By the way, name's Riley. This has been fun...I suppose."She gave a wide grin to Ember, closing her eyes and allowing her nose to scrunch up in genuine joy from the beating she took from the match. Riley kept backing away until there was about six meters between the two girls. She lowered her stance, which caused her lower torso to contract in pain. But the Oni just ignored the pain and continued to grin, squeezing her fists in anticipation.
"You ready? 'Cause here I come!"
At the loud declaration, Riley threw herself forward with all her momentum. Her legs pumped in protest and her heart beat nearly out of her chest. But she kept rushing forward with her fist ready to strike at Jasmine for one final time. Jasmine Noir

Eyes gleaming a vibrant crimson, Jasmine's instincts were on full alert as she stood on the edge of the arena, prepared for whatever Vandal was going to dish at her. The fight had been relatively one-sided up to this point but Jasmine knew that one mistake could've cost her dearly. The previous sequence had told her as much - had she been caught by her opponent's grapple Vandal would've very likely been able to have her way with the American and there wouldn't have been much Jasmine could've done about it. The crazed state of the other girl was a danger the lioness wasn't prepared to face even on a good day.
Yet when the dust finally settled and Vandal emerged after having shooed away the ref, the American teen had been a little surprised with herself. She hadn't expected her attack to deal as much damage as it did, then again she hadn't been able to get a proper fight in after all that training so her full power and how much damage it could deal was anyone's guess. A short and practically unnoticeable sigh of relief left her lips; she's fine, Jasmine thought. I didn't cross a line yet.
Vandal was... different. The rage from before had vanished and she seemed to show some form of mental clarity. Curious. Did she knock the uncontrollable fury out of her? That was a rather funny thought, though the lioness never showed it. Instead she figured to humor the other student and her peace sign and began to slowly walk forward to meet her half-way. Though while not hostile, Jasmine still remained fully on guard. She didn't know this girl and she had met plenty of people who would use the misplaced trust of others for their own advantage. People were sick sometimes and she wasn't about to take any chances, even during a public event such as this one.
Jasmine, despite still being a little surprised and worried for the girl at the same time, simply nodded at her words, accepting what she said to be the truth. The amount of blood she had lost was enough of an indication that this fight, unfortunately, wouldn't last much longer.
"You sure you're in any position to make terms?" Jasmine shot back, a small smirk on her face to show that she was just poking fun. Defeat was a sour feeling and this was very likely her attempt to lighten the air. She always did this. Never one to bask in the misfortune of others, she'd rather focus on what was to come next: the next sequence of the fight rather than Vandal's inability to continue afterwards. The girl deserved to be treated as a competitor, all things considered, and not some kind of pushover because she clearly wasn't one.
Locking her eyes with the other girl, Jasmine returned the stare ten-fold, a competitive gleam like no others coming through her crimson orbs, spreading around the arena like wildfire. Before long Jasmine lowered her head just a little as she closed her eyes, a small smile on her face. A short breath of air left her as she nodded, "Alright, I can get around that," she said, beginning to take a few steps back as she outstretched both of her arms to either side, leaving herself open despite what she had done before. Sometimes there were exceptions to the rule of en garde, and this was one of those exceptions. "I'm Jasmine. Hit me with your best shot, Riley."
The hit was quick and strong. So much so that Jasmine was reaffirmed in her belief that had Riley caught her before she would've very likely been unable to defend and would've lost the fight. Almost as if on instinct Jasmine turned her head to the side so she didn't catch the blow with her nose, rather opting to for the side of her face to be injured. And holy fuck did it hurt. Her entire world spun upsidedown for a few brief moments as she was sent staggering backwards, barely able to keep herself from falling over as she took a few steps back. She hissed in pain as she very literally forced herself to keep standing, closing her eyes shut and shaking her head to get the cobwebs out.
Before long she managed to recover, turning her head to the side and spitting out a bloody tooth. Blood trailed down her lip which she quickly wiped off of the sleeve of her jacket, offering a small smirk in return, "Not too bad, Riley. Had it not been me in the first round you would've probably made it to the finals. But..." Jasmine begun rotating her head, her bones snapping back into place before she lowered her knees, "now it's my turn."
An explosion from her feet sent her flying straight towards Vandal. The American cocked her fist back as she approached. In a very quick motion Jasmine landed right in front of her opponent, slightly crouched, and unleashed a massive haymaker of an uppercut directly to the girl's abdomen, putting all of her strength behind the mightly blow.

The simple fact that Ember- no, Jasmine- had allowed this final duel to happen showed her true character. Deep down, the two girls were in this for the fight and nothing else. The crowd, fame, and glory didn't matter at all. What did matter was proving the strength between them and to see who would come out on top. Jasmine had the honor within her to allow Riley a proper send off from the tournament and the larger girl was beaming from ear to ear as she had prepared to deliver her blow to the blonde. Although she knew that the next blow would be the last, Riley knew that she ultimately hadn't lost. Losing control...fighting with reckless abandon and hurting someone nearly to killing them was something she had feared. But today that fear was squashed like a bug before this girl and she was more than thrilled that she was able to break free of the berserker state in mid battle. An impressive feat that she didn't know could be accomplished! So when her fist slammed into Jasmine, she felt sheer satisfaction that the blow was solid and controlled. Riley knew that Jasmine could take the hit, wholly relieved that the girl was smiling at her after reeling back for a moment. "The same goes for you, Jasmine! Yet I am glad it was against you. Few would be able to take a hit like that!"
Riley grinned a toothy grin, baring her teeth from ear to ear as she steeled her body for the oncoming attack. The blonde shot forward at break neck speed straight for her and, at the last second, came from below Riley. The uppercut slammed into her lower torso like a wrecking ball colliding into a brick wall. The fist collapsed into her body with such force that the wind was quite literally knocked out of her as spittle exploded from her mouth. Riley went soaring off the ground and hung there as Jasmine flew up from the uppercut. The Oni girl succumbed to gravity first, falling backwards and crashing heavily onto her back. She felt something pop in her back, which brought a slow but satisfying snicker from deep within her gut. The crowd was silent, as was the referee. No one spoke as the girl lay on the ground for what felt like an eternity. But then, as if by some unbelievable tenacity, she rolled over onto her stomach. Which was a bad move, since the pressure of her gut against the hard flooring caused her wound to bleed out further. But Riley shoved both hands against the ground and performed a single push up to rise to her knee. The girl gripped her gut with her left arm while pushing her knee to stand up, back turned to Jasmine. She glared at the crowd who only pretended to care for her well being. At the ref, she snarled at him. " Not a single...god damn word. Hear me!?"The man yelped in terror and backed far away from the arena. Riley just grunted in disgust as she spun on the balls of her feet to face Jasmine. She took very large, but faltered steps toward her opponent. Her vision was blurring and darkness was beginning to overwhelm her sight, but she continued to approach. Once she was standing directly in front of Jasmine, Riley reached out and put her free hand on Jasmine. "It was a good fight...Jasmine." She coughed to the side, a bit of blood leaking from her lips. "But I will not lose on my back...not to you or anyone else. I will keep my honor intact. But to one such as you...I concede. You better make it to the finals and kick the living shit outta them though or I'll come back and fuck you up, hear me!?"
With that, Riley let out a laugh so hard that she had to squint in pain at her abdomen. So she just chuckled the rest of the time, smirking at Jasmine with her fist out one final time. "Get that tooth looked at, too. Didn't mean to mess up that perty face of yours. Good luck in the tournament, Jasmine. I'm going to get stronger and then I hope we can do this again sometime!"

It was true. Jasmine never really gave a shit about the notoriety that came following her. She wasn't doing it for the fame or the glory or whatever the hell else that came knocking. Yeah, sure, she was of the idea that a true hero was supposed to be known - to act as a symbol wherein their mere name would force the bad guys to think twice about doing dumb shit - that's how things went in NYC, anyway, and she couldn't be more proud of herself for achieving such a feat. Yet in there here and now what mattered was the fight itself, and the least Jasmine could do was honor the wishes of somebody who was as much of a fighting nut as she herself was.
Once again Jasmine had been utterly surprised by how sturdy this girl was. Jasmine's knuckles burned as it felt like her fist had smashed into a brick wall as her attack landed, striking at the girl's abdomen with all of her might. The attack was so powerful it sent both combatants into the air, and yet while one managed to land on her feet, the other hit the ground with her back, hard.
It was then that Jasmine lowered her arms and her guard, and while she wouldn't outright admit it the American was a little sad that it was. The fight was exciting and she wished it could go on longer. Watching as Riley stood up, Jasmine showed her a small yet confident smile, "Indeed it was," she admitted, a short nod accompanying her words. Her smile only grew as a quiet snort left her. Honor, huh? Yeah, she could respect that. That and Riley's tenacity seemed second to none. Or was it pride? It didn't matter, really.
"I'm going all the way. Count on it."
