With how hard she’d been trying to push her training regime with the sports festival coming up, Yumi had been looking for new ways to further her exercise. She’d been pushing her quirk to it’s limits, naturally exhausting her muscles in short bursts, pushing her morning jogs even further and even trying to add some weights to herself as she did so, and even bought an extra set of hand weights to her collection in her dorm room. She didn’t wanna get too muscular, it wouldn’t do her any good given the nature of her quirk, but making sure she could present the best possible version of herself at the sports festival was really exciting as a prospect!
With her desire to do better though she definitely couldn’t do it alone…well, she could if she pushed herself, but it would be easier with some friendly motivation, and she knew who of all people to get it from. Darren was a potentially good choice, sure, but he had his own dedication driving him and in a weird way she wanted to be surprised by what he pulled out at the festival. Her real first choice however was someone who she’d been wanting to spend way more time with ever since seeing his energy at the football game. She’d only really interacted with him in passing before beyond their one trip to the beach, so when she thought about the possibility of working out with him to better both of their training (though mainly hers given how far ahead of her he likely was) she had to take it. Kirk just…exuded an energy Yumi could really get behind, one very similar to her own when she was in a good mood, only if you replaced her affection and intimacy with sheer, pure hype and adrenaline.
She’d approached him about it during a break in one of their classes, sliding up to his desk with her usual accidentally flirtatious vibes as she rested her chest into her arms and got up a little too close with him. How he reacted she didn’t reeeally remember but ultimately the two had made plans to meet up one morning to see how Kirk ran through his own exercise regime. She knew he lived off campus, but to make sure she got the full force of his exercise the two had agreed to meet outside her dorm that day. She ended with a bright and cheery thank you just as Junko returned to the room, careful to slip back into a seat before the blue woman felt they caused any more trouble.
The day of their agreed exercise meetup, and Yumi was in the School gym wear, wearing spats and a sports bra underneath, and jogging her way down the stairs from her dorm, rushing over to the meeting place they’d agreed on just at the corner closest to the main school buildings between there and her dorm. To keep warm in the chilly weather, she simply jogged in place, resting her hands in her pockets, a wide smile on her lips as she kept an eye out for her classmate.

It had been pretty much a regular day of studying. Kirks thoughts had pretty much been in the fact, that all this math could be replaced with PE and it would have been more useful in his current situation... the break given had provided him a moment of reprieve from his overheating head, result of all that thinking he had to do for even semi usable answers, and was pretty much leaning forward, giving a bit of a rub to his forehead... as a familiar head had leaned in front of him, making the poor guy stand up straight in attention! "N-NOT SLEEPING YET!" He had said, as Yumi had a strong suggestion to push his way. The way she leaned forward outright made him feel a bit awkward, as he tried to avoid looking directly at anything... But the suggestion itself, he accepted openly! It was sort of what he wanted anyway after all. And as she went back to her seat just as Junko came in, Kirk couldn't help but sigh, and rub his head...
You see, his relationship with Yumi was a bit of an awkward one. Not like with Risaka, she didn't hate him at all or anything. Much the opposite in fact! He liked her a lot, even considered her a friend! With her helping him out with the big soccer match, and her being the class president for the longest time, he knew she fit that particular spot the best out of all of the class, even better than Alex! She was pretty much the encapsulation of the whole class in one person, SUPER Energetic, a bit bombastic, except also encouraging and very teamspirited, which pretty much made Kirk a big fan of hers! He was happy to follow her wherever she would lead the class!
...The problem was, that she had this tendency to get REEEEAL close, whatever she did! She was always messing with him in a way that Kirk wasn't exactly used to. And the fact that she was the class president pretty much left him in a position where it was very hard to tell her to quit it, without seeming like a huge jerk or getting into trouble! He could never be one hundred percent sure how to initialize anything with her. However, whenever she herself asked him to do something for her, He usually did it without issues!
However, training with her seemed to be the perfect situation to avoid that stuff for him! It was with a friendly person, it would keep his mind off of things that had lately been plaguing it, and besides, it would keep them both doing something semi serious yet lax enough, that he wouldn't need to worry about getting any flirting sent his way! It would be just two dudes enjoying a training session, Teaching each other new tricks, and that would be it!
Making it over to their planned training area, Kirk was in his usual sports wear, although a bit warmer and thicker due to the things he would be showing off and the weather. Surprisingly, he saw Yumi already doing her own sort of warming up, bouncing up and down whilst jogging in place! And since Kirk was jogging himself to get over here, well, he just proceed to stop in place, and proceeded to mimic her! "Heh, you already know SOME things I see! Looking real good!" He gave a thumbs up to emphasize. Albeit, it was common sense: Jogging was a perfect warm-up for running! "Gives the whole body a warm up you know!" He transitioned into squatting a couple of times regularly, and even proceeding to outright hopping! "Remember to train these muscles too! Gotta be prepared to jump over rocks and puddles!" He was seemingly already completely engrossing himself in the role of a mentor again!
He briefly stopped, stretching his arms over his chest, as he looked around. "Hmmm... looking a bit slippery... But that's to be expected you know!" Even a bit warmer day would make the place have little splotches of slippery ice around. However, in this case... "Makes for a perfect obstacle for our course, hehe!" He lifted his index finger in the sky in a bit of pride. Although his next question was pretty open ended. "So... what do you wanna start with?! Just full on speedrunning, dodging...?" He was pretty much ready for anything in that regard.

Yumi, ever the oblivious little intimate red head (though really she was close to, if not above average height for a girl, so there wasn’t really much ‘little’ about her especially now that she’d started to get some muscle) – anyway, ever the oblivious one, Yumi had no idea how uncomfortable she potentially made Kirk, though she’d always assumed what little blushes or fluster she could ignite in him was just like…a playful amount? She had been getting better at telling when people became uncomfortable around her, but it seemed she still had at least some ways to go in that regard if she couldn’t tell she was making kirk genuinely uncomfortable with her ever intimate approach to her friends and classmates. Maybe they could address that sometime if he ever had the courage to bring it up to her.
Heh, in a way her winning the class presidency again was probably a terrible thing for him, given it was one of the reasons Kirk apparently didn’t have the guts to address the issue with her. Maybe if he’d won the vice presidency…ah but what use was it talking in hypotheticals. Back to the present where Yumi was just jogging in place trying to keep herself warm, easily spotting the the heavy steps of the bundle of energy and muscle that was her classmate Kirk, beaming at him with a bright smile and sticking her tongue out happily at his arrival with a light cheeky smirk behind her tongue.
“Gotta keep warm somehow eh? No point standing still!~” She retorted, glancing across to him as he started into a few other warm up motions, though without much warning she staggered for just a moment or two in keeping up, switching her own motions to match the ones he was making, already heavy in the mentality that she’d asked him to join her to, in a way, act as her training coach for this. As such it was a case of monkey see monkey do, only monkey was copying someone who didn’t give any warning, so she briefly slipped before catching herself as she tried to switch rapidly from squatting to hops at the exact wrong time, though as she threw her arms out to either side she at least managed to avoid falling over fully on the slippy pathways of the school.
“T-they should really put grit on these paths in the winter…I-I mean we’re all practically training to be super-powered athletes. One bad injury and there goes our careers.” Of course she wasn’t accounting for the fact there were people with healing quirks these days, but that would have ruined her point, or at the very least pulled away from the dramatic point she was trying to make with her choice of words. When she was sure she was stable and not about to slip again with a wrong move, she let out a calm breath through her nose and rose to a full stand again, looking to her ever excited running partner, though quirking a brow at his own choice of words.
Obstacles? Had she mentioned she’d signed up for the obstacle course event? She didn’t feel like she had but hey ho, that was her memory for ya. Maybe he just used obstacles to make it more interesting or get a better exercise out of it anyway, or maybe she had totally just forgotten mentioning she was training for the obstacle course. Whatever the case she was still left chuckling just a little nervously as he tried to look to her for what they should start off with, the red head starting to jog in place again to get warm, having done all of her stretches in her dorm room before heading to the meet up spot.
“Hey don’t look at me, I asked you to help me cause you’re the fitness expert.” She chuckled a little. “I mean, really I’d be real eager just to follow you on whatever you say is best, but if you’re making me choose a general sprint would be nice? I’ve been going for morning jogs ever since I joined the colledge, but sprinting’s not exactly part of my repertoire yet ya know?”
In truth Yumi did feel pretty confident in her own exercise regime. Okay sure it had taken a while for her to show enough results that Darren was pointing it out to her, but nonetheless she felt pretty damn good with how it had been progressing. Darren said he could actually notice the difference, and if anyone should be able to see it, it was him. He’d known her for as long as she’d been at the school afterall. Still, the sports festival was a big deal, and if there was anyone she could trust to push her beyond her limits, it was the energetic Kirk.
“So whatt’ya say. A sprint the best place to start, or you got something better in mind, Captain?~” She smirked, teasing him a little for the nickname he’d gotten thanks to Darren back in the locker room before their football match.

"You get it!" Kirk couldn't help but chuckle a little bit in answer to Yumis excitement. "That's why they are called warm-ups!" And the reason why it was perfect in this cool weather. After a moment, the blood start moving proper in your heated veins and warm you up just due to that. Somebody sillier would propably even say they could even handle minus degrees fahrenheit in the heat of the moment! And yumi was clearly in the moment. She seemingly tried to copy his movements, squatting being propably the most classic maneuver from him whenever in class and feeling a bit stiff from all the sitting. However, the quick switch after squats seemingly didn't work out too well for her, as her legs pushed against the ice and slipped, Kirk snapping to attention with this worried big eyed look, stopping in his tracks!
"You alright!?" He quickly asked, looking at Yumi... who now looked like a surprised deer in the headlights of his stare. He couldn't help but smirk, and hold laughter... "Well, They keep the actual runways in better condition! Always use em after school ends! Although I guess they don't expect students to go behind the school to train up too often..." The clear grin on his face as he turned away a bit continued... He didn't wanna make her feel bad, but he had to always put a lot of effort in hiding anything he didn't wanna show. And naturally, a bit of a silenced "hehe" Escaped his lips.
However, she seemed confused when he mentioned obstacles... and Kirk looked at her in a very same manner, blinking a couple of times. "What?" He thought for a moment, and then snapped his fingers. "Oooooh! I get it!" He turned towards her, the previous awkward grin having turned into an actual wide smile. "No need to be confused! I just thought that we would be doing something a bit more special, you know! Othervise we could have just gone to those regular fields." He opened his arms wide to emphasize his next point: "Besides, its sort of like field training with this sort of field, right?" He himself was very excited to try it out, thats for sure. And he had some of his very own moves ready for tryout.
However, seemingly the girl wanted to atleast START with just regular old running. Although being called "a fitness expert" made a tiny blush grow under his nose. "Y-yeah, true... also its safer! I think..." As she said, slipping like that alone could end up with something bad breaking... She outright followed it up by asking his "captains opinion". "Oh shoosh! No need to go sugarcoating me!" As much as he asked her to stop, Kirks grin just widened. He liked being praised, and those had never been too big of a problem, other than maybe getting into his head sometimes.
"But yeah! If you wanna do something special WHILE sprinting, you gotta learn the basics first!" He started taking calm steps in front of her, almost like a general, with the snow crunching under his feet. "Now since we are just starting, I may as well check how you do it first! Although, you've seen me jogging about the place, right?!" He snapped his neck strongly in her direction! "Don't lift your knees at all that high! That's more for TRAINING than actual speed!" He lifted his index finger up. "What I want you to prioritize, is leaning a bit forward! THAT gives you extra speed for small bursts!"
He proceeded to walk next to her and took two steps to the side, as he lowered his frame a little bit and stepped one of his legs backwards, preparing a running pose. "Like I said, run a bit first! Like, 100 yards maybe! I'll give you more tips after I see how you YOURSELF do it!" After she would take off, Kirk would try to keep up with his best efforts, keeping his eyes clearly on her form, trying to catch something to improve.

Yumi let out an enthusiastic chuckle as Kirk started to infect her with his energy right off the bat. If he saw her as the embodiement of the class he was like a super charge for the class atmosphere. All the energy seemed to come from him sometimes, so bright, confident, energetic. It was like everytime Darren took a nap, all his rambunctious and confrontational energy just flowed into Kirk and bolstened his own energy, and of course, Yumi wouldn’t change a thing about him. Like many members of her class he was just this other bright beacon that made her feel like, regardless of any jokey reputation they had, they were gonna be some of the best heros in the future. “Well usually to warm up I set off a few sparks but that kinda defeats the point if I’m outside! Sure might keep me warm for a second but not exactly gonna stay warm if I burn up my clothes am I? Hehehehe!~”
With the sudden trip throwing them so hard off balance, Yumi definitely had a bit of color in her cheeks and certainly did look like the metaphorical deer in the headlights of Kirk’s eyes, shooting him a silly look that said she realized how stupid she must look, before letting out a few giggles at seeing the look on his own face and laughing at her own mistake. “Yeah I’m okay. Don’t worry you can have a tiny little laugh at my expense if ya want.~” She shot a smile and a wink, clearly not trying to trap him but more than happy to have a laugh when it was just a silly mistake like that. At hearing the runways were better maintained, she wondered if they should head there, she had just suggested they MEET here for the sake of ease. “Oh, maybe we should head over there later? I mean, if you think it’s better. We could even jog there to keep the exercise going.~”
When it came to the confused look they shared Kirk seemed to be the one to break the silence and assume the purpose of her questioning look, Yumi chuckling a little, kinda surprised how quickly he caught on. “Oooh! Okay, sorry for the confused look I was just questioning if I ended up telling you I signed up for the obstacle course event!~” It wasn’t a big mixup so she wasn’t too embaressed or anything, but an obstacle course was good all the same. It was something different to say the least and as such it would certainly keep her engaged in the exercise. Plus, in this weather, maybe an icy floor would be an obstacle on the course? You never knew right so it could totally be of use to her when the day itself came, racing against all her classmates and, so she’d heard, maybe some entrants from other schools! “Totally works out though, whether first or second we should definitely give it a go captain!~”
Grinning wide just because she’d earned a grin out of Kirk, the red headed class president was feeling extra good now for some reason. Kirk’s energy and cheerfulness had gone from just being infectious to downright acting as a feedback loop as he got all cute and modest and bashful. For a brief moment she wondered why they didn’t hang out more, but quickly being honest with herself, she knew she was just depressed the last handful of weeks. Maybe she should make a bit more of an effort with him now she was feeling good again. Plus he wasn’t at Semper Fi so it would be nice to get some time with someone who wasn’t witness to the mess she’d made that day.
“Oi, it’s not sugarcoating. Your energy and finesse is all natural flavouring.~” She shifted beside him, gently bumping her hip into his with a playful smile, the tip of her tongue poking out of her lips as she winked towards him. “Now come on caaaptain!~ Show me the ropes!~”
Yumi had seen him Jogging about the place but she’d never been the most observant of individuals. For her own jogging technique she was more engaged with just actually keeping herself warm and moving in this weather, trying to meet her usual standards of running the same distance about the campus, but she at least noted he kept his knees high for his training. Maybe she’d try to pick it up as a habit, or at least google what benefits it supposedly had. “Okay yeah sure, I’m got a good habit of jogging but I only really ‘sprint’ if I’m racing someone to our destination, and even then that’s hardly professional.” She chuckled a little through her smile, knowing her banter wasn’t the best even if she was just retelling her own running habits.
She took his advice to heart with a strong nod. Lean into it, and small bursts. Noted. Sure during the obstacle course it may be practically a marathon but there were going to be times likely were flight wasn’t an option and she’d have to push herself for a brief period on her legs, so it worked out. With the signal they were both ready to go, she’d dip low in a read stance before breaking into a sprint. It was clear she had some decent technique when taking it seriously, but her stiff posture showed she probably adopted too many habits from her jogging, managing to make it 100 yards, but not used to even breathing right at such a pace, she was lightly panting as she skidded to a halt in the snow towards the end of her burst, smiling at Kirk and hoping for the best. “H-how was that? I do okay?” She wasn’t too out of breath of course, but again, it was just plain clear she wasn’t used to this approach.

The warm-up had clearly done its job on the both of them, taking how happily both of them were laughing just about the smallest of things. Everything seemed to click together with their small discussions before the exercise, from her being alright about being laughed at, to even discussing if they should move to train somewhere else. Heck, Kirk even found out that she had joined up the running competition part of the sports festival. "Oh yeah! There is that!" He gave himself a bit of a scrub on the cheek. "I was considering joining it, but you know all the folks with their..." There was a tiny awkward pause, before He quickly shook his head. "Nah, Never mind. I chose cavalry! Mostly because I thought it would be relatively easy for me, you know! I got space in my back for most folks!"
...Yes, it was a bit of a wonder why he hadn't joined the obstacle course. Somebody else could have thought he was an obvious candidate for it! However, the haunting feeling in him knew, that it was not just about knowing how to run and maneuver yourself. It required a fitting quirk too! And honestly, Kirks was kind of hard to justify being any sort of acrobatic. Yumi on the other hand he could see excelling in it! She had the figure of someone who could do flips with ease, and if anybody even dared to think of foul play, then she could just shock em!
Luckily, her quick bump on his side flinched him back to thinking about the situation he was actually in currently. Othervise he would have propably been stuck mulling in it for a little while. An awkward glare was given as she outright lengthened her speech in asking him to "get on with it" in an endearing fashion! "Okay, yeah, sorry! Here we go!" Atleast he could trust in her being really attentive.
Apparently she was pretty used to jogging too, albeit, apparently not outright sprinting. Although the reasoning for it was a bit silly yet adequate. "Well, that's usually why we sprint, you know! Atleast in baseball." He smiled. "Gotta get from base to base before the ball catches you, you know?!" However, any further thoughts would be held until after the run. Kirk needed to concentrate entirely on looking at Yumis efforts on doing it after all, so small talk was a no go! However, looking at her go, she did have a quite a lot of speed, that was not the issue! However her form... well it reminded him of somebody bending a straw for whatever reason. She was bending like a stick, instead of a roll... However, there were some easier things to fix as well, as Kirk flubbered his lips with the air exciting his mouth after their first run...
Yumi was of course immediately asking how she did. "Well, the good news is that you are PLENTY fast!" He lifted his fist in victory! ...only to let it flop down in disappointment. "...buuuut you know, you shouldn't be necessarily this tired after doing it just once, you know?" It was maybe a bit of a rude thing to say, but he held hope she would understand. "Let's start with the simple stuff, alright?"
He proceeded to swing his arms wildly from side to side, and front to back. "Firstly, swing your arms a more! They will help you propel yourself forward at greater speeds!" He outright just stretched outward and flapped them all silly, like he had just realized a good comparison. "Kind of like a great bald eagle!" He couldn't help but laugh and shake his head. "Nah, we ain't trying to fly here pffff...!" He straightened himself back up. "In the case of you getting a bit out of breath, well..." That was a bit trickier admittedly. "You just gotta sort of find out whats the right amount of breathing you need to do. Your body is kind of different from mine after all." He tapped his bicep. He had sprinted quite a few times, so that had give him a little bit of an edge about knowing it. However, he did have a tip to give! "If your muscles hurt, you need to breathe a bit more though! Muscles don't work without constant refueling." It was important to inform her of this early. It meant that she could perhaps notice it herself while they were doing this!
He proceeded to take a couple of joggy steps more outward from the building, leaving tracks behind himself "One final tip... Don't. be. afraid. to..." He proceeded to stomp himself into the snow with both feet stopping at about 150 yards away from. "BEND more forward! Depending on how you swing your arms, it should help you balance it so you don't fall over!" He proceeded to hop a bit to the side, swinging his arm invitingly in her direction. "Come on, next try!"
After she was done (if she did it) Kirk would ask her a simple question. "Feel any easier?"

“Folks with their…?” She repeated, tipping her head to the side and curious as to what he was going on about. Yumi felt Kirk would do great at such an event. Sure, on the one hand, his quirk was…well really Yumi had yet to really experience what it was ‘good for’. Like, not to be rude, it was interesting and useful, but the most Yumi could push herself to come up with was a storage container for gadgets, or maybe help move rubble at a rescue site by stuffing it in there. Regardless, even without a quirk to tip things in his favour, he had the stamina and determination alone to make a splash in the obstacle course she felt, but, then again, none of them had any ideas what the obstacles would be. She didn’t’ wanna see Kirk do so well only to fauter at…I dunno. A wall of flames or something? Sounded about right for this school…
Still, he’d signed up for cavalry and had a very fair reason for doing so, he could tug someone’s legs into his back-pack quirk so they were more secure. Definitely worked out! Yumi sure did have an advantage though with the obstacle course these days and not for why Darren thought. The ability to fly was extremely useful as a hero. Sure it was a cliché power but it had it’s advantages. Yumi didn’t achieve true flight of course, she more, repelled herself from surface. She could climb a building by repelling herself from it at specific angles with her discharged energy. On the other hand if she was caught in midair she’d start dropping fast. Still though, she doubted the school wouldn’t take flying quirks advantages into account, so she was prepared for anything that might disable her ability to soar over the competition.
She giggled a little as he seemed a little stunned and caught off guard by her little bump, tempted to tease him a little about how she seemed to shock him or something of the like, but he seemed caught off guard enough regardless and she felt it more fair to leave him be, just offering a warm smile as he snapped back to reality. “Here we go!” She chimed with him, getting ready to get this all started.
“Well that’s not exactly why I sprint” She chimed in with a cheeky smirk, tipping her head to the side. “I usually sprint to beat Darren to the front of the cafeteria before he gets the last good slice of pizza or something.” She snickered a little at her own reasons for breaking into full speed. Really she could think of other reasons but they were definitely all silly. Using them in a sport just made her giggle. She’d always been the unfit kind before she came here that weirdly the idea of being active in sports still felt so weirdly ridiculous. She could still see herself saving the day at breakneck speeds one day, but running for 3rd base? Pfff. You kidding? She’d swallow her own throat trying to breath.
Like not literally, it’s just how she saw herself…
Yumi beamed quickly after her sprint, still catching her breath a little, more like her lungs were catching up with her. She didn’t sound or look exhausted but her quicker breathing showed her body was trying to compensate a little for the sudden burst of activity. She lightly rubbed her throat which tingled a little from the quick breathing, feeling good that he saw she was fast, though her expression fell with the drop of his fist. “W-well I don’t feel too-“ She finally recognized her breathing and looked down herself, then off to her side, almost as if her lungs had stabbed her in the back. “O-okay I feel fine but apparently my lungs thing I’m drowning or something so I’ll give you that.” She smirked, chuckling soon after at her own silly little fault. “Lemme guess, breathing techniques?” She smiled, not taking his advice as rude at all.
Taking the advice about how to get her arms moving a little more, she giggled at his goofy display and joined him in it, revving sounds coming from her lips before trying to imitate a plane as she briefly skipped a half circle around him, snickering and giggling as she spun on her heel. “Yeah that is a bit silly huh? Unless you have sort of helicopter arm quirk I guess.~” She stuck her tongue out teasingly and smiled back at him as she continued to listen.
“Yeeeah I get that well enough. My electro powers are based in a special gland in my muscles or something I thiiiink?” It had never been explained well to her. Basically for every muscle fibre she had, the one next to it was specially designed to generate electricity by burning her fuel. “Makes my whole body hurt after a full discharge so I definitely know what to look out for. Thanks hun.~”
Yumi watched him jogging ahead a few steps, chuckling as she caught onto what he was doing with that final hop to mark the finish line. She lowered her stance, trying to think a little more about how she worked with the aerodynamics when flying and broke off onto a sprint on his mark. She took in his advice, her arms moving a fair bit better and dipping into the sprint much more fluidly than she had before, though, Kirk was her undoing, as she stepped into the imprint in the snow, her toes caught on the heavier bank of snow the other side, and before she knew it her face was in the white fluff, groaning a little after a failed attempt to catch herself.
“Damn speed bumps…”

Ah, Food! The classic effective motivator to get your legs moving, and the perfect provider of calories to turn into muscle! Kirk could definitely relate to that as an example too, as signified by the brief powerful nod given, Especially with Darren involved! Albeit, it was perhaps a little bit hard for Kirk to think of Yumi as the "stuff themselves silly" kind. He didn't have any idea where all that weight could have gone to... Well, aside from a certain very rude to mention body part. The realization made him go "oooooooh...", inside his head of course. Even he wasn't ready to say THAT sort of thing out loud.
At first, she didn't seem to understand what he meant by mentioning her being tired. Kirk wasn't sure if she was just trying to hide it, but the way she breathed just shone how much she pushed her body. However, her first impression after she realized it, was that she felt like she was "drowning". "Eeyup, that sounds like running out of air, alright!" She was just confirming his suspicions at this point. His advice soon followed, as she followed it the best she could... Albeit when he gave the example of the bald eagle, she proceeded to act like an outright aeroplane, even flubbering her lips to make the sound of one. As funny as the sight was, It was also so cute that Kirk blushed a little amidst his smiling, with the mention of a helicopter arm getting him into other thoughts again. "Well, I don't need no quirky arms to spin em around!" He gripped his shoulder, and wound up his arm round and round a couple of times. A bit of showing off never hurt anybody!
However, as he explained how she needed to find the way to breath on her own, she proceeded to admit that she technically already knew how! "...huh?" ...Albeit the explanation of it went a little bit over his head. Kirk was actually pretty good in biology, but quirks had pretty much made it so, that everyone had at least one thing in themselves that made it hard to just judge em by the cover. Albeit, since it seemed like she got what he meant, He just scratched his head and gave a bit of a shrug. "Don't mention it... Just one part of many!"
And then it was time for the girl to try out if she learned something! With Kirk giving this time more of a side eye view with him not running with her, he could concentrate on the other details than speed and such! However, just looking at it, she seemed to have pretty much absorbed all the info like a sponge, that she was now squeezing all out in one glorious boost of speed. "You are doing it, dudette! YOU ARE CRUSHING IT!" He cheered, Powerfully squatting and lifting his arms into the air... as there was just this sudden *floomf* sound effect, as the girl suddenly just sank into the whiteness. "...YOU MADE IT!" He shouted excitedly, trying to make it seem atleast a little bit less awkward than it actually was! Admittedly, if this was casual training with Darren or Tetsuko, he would have propably been dying of laughter at this point. However, in this case, he was taking his duty as a personal trainer quite seriously.
He took two big steps over to Yumi, who was seemingly mumbling something to herself. "Well, now you atleast get ONE example why training in snow is actually pretty handy!" He reached on over, trying to grab the girl by her jacket to lift her up from the snow. "This sort of accidents don't peel your face off!" A brutal thought mixed with an overly apologetic smile and chuckle. "That and uh...! It cools you down quickly! Especially great after coopers test!" ...Albeit Kirk didn't know any school that did that during winter...
"A-anyways, GOOD job! I don't think I saw any big mistakes this time!" However, he lifted up his index finger, almost to calm her before she got too excited. "Except for one thing! One thing that could help you with not falling over!" he proceeded to stomp his legs against the crowd rapidly. "Shorten your running steps! I know it's weird, but it makes it so that you have much better standing, and allows you to quickly adjust to things!" he lifted his foot. "Taking long leaps can lead into your leg getting caught up in something, and makes it hard to adjust to things on the fly, you know?!"
He stepped his leg back down. "Buuut, if you don't have anything else, I would say that you've gotten over the first step into proper sprinting!" He lifted his hand, facing the palm in Yumis direction clearly expecting something celebratory. "Next up, we will get into the more specialized stuff. I assume the obstacle course won't be just a straight road to the goal after all, right?" He himself was atleast ready for way more. Hopefully the brief fall didn't break her spirit.

Yumi quirked a brow as Kirk seemed to get lose in his thoughts for a moment, shooting him an unsure quirk of her lips into a smile to make sure he was okay, but once he got back to reality and stopped thinking about where all her food was going the two of them were back in the game and ready to go it seemed.
“Y-yeah.” She responded to the confirmation of it sounding like she’d run out of air, as if that much wasn’t obvious (she wasn’t being snarky more just laughing at herself internally), resting her hands on her knees. Her body didn’t feel sore which she usually associated with being tired but…”It’s like…my lungs are trying to catch up? Rest of me feels fine just…yeah. I bet with breathing like this I woulda started to feel the burn pretty quickly after that huh?” She smirked a little sheepishly, recognizing her potential faults.
With the demonstration of the eagle Yumi supposed she went a bit overboard with the helicopter example but it was pretty cute seeing Kirk smile about it so it wasn’t a mistaken action. Ending up back infront of him and listening intently, she snickered at his idea that he didn’t need a quirk to get all spinny with his arms and shrugged. “Maybe not but they always help take it to the next level eh?~”
Well Yumi didn’t know how when it came to spirinting, but her weird electrical muscles had always offered her a challenge after a hefty discharge. She could still use some guidance of course but she wouldn’t push for now and just take the advice she’d been given so far with a warm smile, definitely glad she asked Kirk to guide some of her exercise and training. He was always so full of energy and it was also a great chance to get to know him more, one she definitely didn’t see herself regretting any time soon.
Yumi just lay in the snow for a moment till the sound of Kirk’s encouragement reached her ears, at which point the slightly shameful little pile of human awkwardness in the snow started to pulse with cheery little giggles, rolling onto her back so they were far less muffled and holding her stomache after she wiped the snow out of her face. “Okay maybe next time we make a finish line we don’t make it a speed bump huh?~” She grinned nice and wide, clearly not bothered by the fall and Kirk definitely had a point. Normal road and that would have ruined her face. On the other hand, if there wasn’t snow, she’d have had nothing to trip on there in the first place so, ya know, ifs and buts and whosits and whatsits, she fell over, she was safe, and in the end that was all that mattered. She pushed back onto her hands using some of the athletic skills the school had trained into her and kicked directly back up onto her feet in one fluid motion, bouncing in place as she steadied herself and showing Kirk a nice wide grin to ensure she was okay beyond some flecks of snow still sticking to her rosier cheeks. “Guess it does help to cool down a bit too.” She smirked, suddenly stepping over and pushing a hanful of snow she’d brought up with her into his face with a sneaky giggle. “Sorry! Couldn’t resist!~”
She hadn’t meant to be rude to his offer to help her up by the way, she was just a bit too distracted giggling and always tended to be a bit of a fast acter when getting back on her feet or…well getting anything done really. Back on her feet and not so disorientated or giggling, she brushed down the front of her clothes too to make sure they didn’t get wet as the snow melted, especially not in this cold weather, and listened to his advice. Shorten her running length huh? Fair enough she did tend to shoot her legs ahead of her whenever she was in a sprint so it was definitely welcome, advice, especially given any number of things could trip them all up when it came to the obstacle course. “Got it captain.” She smirked, finally clean of snow and ready to go again if she can. “Definitely makes sense though! Thanks!~”
At the idea that they’d start training more specifically for the obstacle course now, Yumi was certainly pumped, bouncing on her toes briefly asn delivering Kirk a firm high five as it was offered to her, ready to get going and nodding along to his words. “yeah. Definitely. We have no idea what to expect, but I think even getting the sense of motion in my head ready to duck and weave out of danger will be beneficial! You got anything in mind?~”

Kirk could hear Yumis giggling loud and clear, as he got over to her. It was clear she was not hurt, always a good thing! Although she did point out that he really shouldn't have made a speed bump at the end. Kirk blinked in confusion again. "Huh?!" He looked towards where she had fallen over, and yeah there WAS actually a bit thicker bump of snow on the ground! His hand instinctively went behind his head, as he hid his awkwardness behind a typical grin. "W-Well I assure you, that was not planned, hehe!" How could he have known that his thick shins would stack the snow that tight? Perhaps he had underestimated it!
Heck, even him offering to lift her up was ignored, as she proceeded to just jump, proceeding to stand back up. Yeah, he did that all the time, So he should have guessed she could do it on her own. But hey! A proper dude helps a fellow dude in need! Well, Dudette in this case. What surprised him however, was her sudden assault of snow, that was a direct hit on his face! For a moment, he just looked dumbfounded as Yumi giggled and apologized. Kirk just proceeded to shake his head with a loud "BRRRRRRRRR!" Shaking all the snow off of himself, before standing back up straight, and just nodding along. "Nah! Critique is appreciated, no worries..." Just meant that he needed to be a little bit more consistent with how he handled these things was all.
The slight moodiness of his previous sentence was soon fixed with a highfive! She was still into it, and he was ready to show him the hard stuff! "Alright! Gimme a moment!" He proceeded to thoroughly stomp the next runway... and with a keen eye someone could notice the shape these 4 different stops showed was PRETTY familiar. With 4 clear corners, and 4 ways to run through, it sort of resembled a baseball fields diamond! "Next thing I will teach you, is QUICKTURNING!" He hopped back over to her at her base, and took a readying pose. "Now admittedly, you might do this naturally when you are just running, but... its always a good thing to bring up specifically!" He pointed towards the next base. "When you know clearly, that you need to either turn or switch direction completely at some point like here, You can easily keep your momentum by twisting your leg in front of you, with the foot pointing in the direction you wanna next go!" He lifted his butt a little. "Like this!" He took off in a sprint!
About 3/4ths of the way there, he slammed his foot down, with the sound of his shoe against snow, creating this loud sound, as some snow flew into the air out of the way! His momentum stopped at the base, as he turned back to look at her. "From this position, it's VERY easy to then take off again, in whatever direction you want!" He proceeded to quickly start sprinting again to the next base, as he kept talking! "Also, while doing this, you can easily tackle somebody or steal a ball and then continue onward without a hassle!" And onto the next base! "And of course, the faster you go, the farther you'll gooHOHOHOHOOOOOO!!!"
However, when he got to the base right before the one where Yumi was at, He continued sliding forward from it! There had been a nasty sliver of ice just after it, as now his leg went lower and lower, with Kirk having to outright turn around, and get his other leg in on the break, with the snow flying to the side of his big form, before he finally came to a slightly screeching halt... "Uh, OF COURSE! T-the terrain also has an effect on this... like, in this ice!" Kirk was clearly a bit embarrassed and flustered. This was exactly the sort of noobie mistake he was supposed to help her avoid... Actually! He hopped to a standing position, slipping to the side of the Icy trap. "I did say I wanted to be a bit challenged too, hehe!" TOTALLY PLANNED! Totally planned indeed...

d“Ah don’t worry about it.” She smirked, definitely holding no hard feelings. Really she’d caught her foot on the fluffy snow on the other side of the imprint he’d made but she wouldn’t get into the semantics and make either of them feel awkward while things were going well.
Snickering and giggling at his reaction to the direct slap of snow to his face, she keeled over and giggled, glad he didn’t take it too seriously and stucking her tongue out with a cheeky smirk. She offered him a warm smile and stepped over to brush some snow off his cheeks before offering another bright expression and giving him his space back, eager for them to keep going with the training and to see what lay ahead of her with this beefy trainer ready to show her the ropes.
Grinning wide at his ecstatic nature, she watched him stomp out another bit of guidance for the both of them and was ready to listen to how she should handle this. Quick turning huh? Okay? Warming up her hands together for a moment, starting to feel the chill a little from falling over and sticking still for so long. She warmed her hands up with a puff of her breath into them before listening a little more intently, watching the practical demonstration closely. Okay so it was kinda like a more advanced way of how she tended to dip and weave through crowds. “Yeah no worries. Always best to see an expert at it anyway.” She kept herself warm as she just watched as she started to rub her arms, watching him take off, though she did briefly snicker as his butt specifically seemed to raise up behind him.
Watching the demonstration in action, she spotted him turn hard on his leg with some pretty good skill. He seemed to slow a little to make it clear what he was doing for her, but it was fun enough to watch and she was taking it in. He was clearly pulling some speed despite his size and muscle, and while Yumi briefly wondered which of them was actually faster she was mostly just impressed by the speeds he could pull anyway. Heck she kinda didn’t wanna race him just incase he proved he’d win. Sure he was a muscle nut but she kinda hoped since she focused so much on Cardio she might be faster. Not so hopeful after this demonstration, though his odd sounds did leave her chuckling.
Watching him nearly fall she darted a few steps closer before placing her hands over her mouth, pretty damn sure she couldn’t do much whichever way this was gonna go, but when he ended up giving his excuse for that being totally planned she couldn’t help but burst out giggling. “Yeeeah totally planned!~” She giggled and gave him a brief squeeze of a hug to make sure he was steady on his feet. Walking up to the start point of his little exercise plan, she lowered herself down. “I’m just gonna go on my own mark I REALLY need to warm up here…” And with that she was off sprinting, taking his advice and managing to turn about on her leg fairly well without losing too much of her momentum. Not perfect, but a strong start and a habit she’d easily develop over time, and before long she was back with Kirk at the start, deciding to show off a bit and flipping into a cartwheel at the end, bouncing onto her feet with a bright grin at her little display. “HOI! How’d I do?~”

Well... Atleast she was still having fun, right? She had seemed awfully shocked when he had slipped, but now she was once again giggling loudly... Guess she didn't believe it. He couldn't help but turn a bit red in embarrassment, maybe hidden by the fact that his cheeks were were already a bit red before this from the cold... Albeit he turned even redder, when she gave him a hug out of the blue! "N-no need! I am FINE! Go on!" He couldn't help but rub his cheek a little after released, as he took small steps off the ice to make sure he didn't slip again... Now the only thing he could wish for was that she took it as a way NOT to do things... He proceeded to look as the girl prepared to run her own little trip around the field... giving another quip at how SHE needed to warm up proper. "Uh! I mean, yeah..." It was no problem she said... maybe he just took a too long time explaining it?
However, then she proceeded to run around the field... She didn't seemingly slip once doing it, and the minor mistakes that he could see were pretty much negligible... She had pretty much learned it on the first try! Whether that meant that he had thought him well, or if she was that much of a genius depended entirely on the side thinking propably. "Whoa..." Come to think of it, even at his pace (he had often been told to slow down a little with people), this girl was just blasting through the exercises he had planned, with only one big mistake under her belt... Which was apparently caused by him... And she was pretty much blasting through everything!
And as a final footnote, at the end of her round, she proceeded to do a cartwheel with the speed she had garnered, Acrobatically standing up like some sort of artist after finishing her show! And as to be expected, Like a proper Crowd, Kirk clapped very enthusiastically! "Amazing! That's the class president for ya!" He said aloud, all sorts of cheery, and genuinely impressed! "Makes me wonder why you even asked to learn sprinting, when you can do that sort of thing." A bit more quiet follow-up. That was something he himself couldn't do... It was sort of like watching a cheerleader do her cheering, compared to a guy in the audience shouting with all the heart he got: One was way simpler than the other and lacked the tactics. It only seemed like natural she should have known this stuff from training her own things...
But taking note that she herself had asked for it, Kirk just grunted, and widened his arms. "Honestly, I do have one more trick to show ya, but it's kind of simple... a follow-up, You know! Sort of like those cart wheels of yours!" Atleast he had SOMETHING similar to them he still knew! "Although, if you are cold, you might not wanna try em, hehe... They include bodily contact with snow again!" He needed to push these annoying thoughts with some ACTION of his own! He stepped next to her at the start, and took off at speed, before tipping his leg so far downwards, that it was flat against the snow, with his foot like a spear aiming forward! "The football tackle for example! It's admittedly more of an attack, so I ain't sure if it will come in handy in an obstacle course, and you do need to pick yourself up afterwards but who knows... Maybe you gotta break through something!" He pressed his back against the ground, as his pouch pushed him back up in a bit bigger hop.
"Then... There is the PANIC slide!" He smiled. This was clearly a fun one for him... As he proceeded to run again, this time towards Yumi... but instead of stopping, he seemingly dived forward, sliding against the ground, flat like some sort deep sea fish! With his speed and weight, he kept sliding for quite a long time... gathering a lot of snow over his head, under which he sighed... Just what he needed. Something to cool his head. His head soon lifted from the pile. "Allows you to get into tight areas that are about to close in the last minute! Either that or force someone to jump!" He pushed himself up and walked over to her, cleaning some snow from his shoulders. "Sometimes you just cant jump over things, believe you me." He shuddered from the cold... maybe he regretted that one a bit... but a quick sneeze, and he seemed to be semifine. Admittedly, these techniques were pretty darn easy to do... He doubted she would have any trouble if she tried them... and he needed to come up with some new ones...
"But uh... How about we switch things around a bit for the next one?" His curiosity had been piqued, and with his head cooler, he could say something. "You teach me something! Since I too need some defining, you know?" It would also allow him to see how the "big cheese" did things... he had seen plenty of Darren... but Yumi was still a minor mystery aside from her quirk... And besides, he needed some time to come up with more things to show.

Yumi didn’t meant to be rude or anything in saying how cold she was, it was just that time of year and on her morning jogs she was so used to constant movement that staying still even for a short while was a bit of a shock to her system once it had a chance to take in the cold. Her teeth lightly chattering away as she powered through it, even if in part they were just doing that to be a little cheeky and comical, but she’d nod to Kirk as she was given the floor and not waste anymore of either of their time. It was cold, and they needed to keep moving, and as much as she didn’t want to stay still she wouldn’t force him to stay still for long either, and soon started off putting what she’d seen into practice.
Yumi wasn’t exactly a genius or anything but after being at the whole training thing for so long and so thoroughly since starting UA she’d just developed into a bit of a quick learned. Plus, despite not being ‘fast’ she’d always been at least light on her feet and ready to dip duck and weave through busy streets while still finding her way…or dip and duck through a busy train car for hopefully obvious reasons in this culture.
All the same though even she didn’t realize that she was blaring through it so fast. What Kirk showed her with his turning felt oddly like a natural upgrade to similar motions she was already making, so as she finished her cartwheel, a little short on breath, she was surprised by the whoa that escaped him, lightening the mood as she rested a hand on her chest. “S-still need to work on the breathing I think…~”
She snickered and giggled at his applause, the hand on her chest remaining their as she gave a polite bow to her adoring crowd, 3 dips of her head before she rose back up and giggled a little more before taking it a tad more seriously as she waved it all off. “Oh please, I’m not exactly special for being class president or anything. I mostly just get votes because everyone likes to use me as an excuse for their crappy uniforms adherence.” She smirked and chuckled, taking no shame in saying that. She liked that, if anything, she could at the very least provide her classmates with an excuse to just do their own thing and stay comfortable with all the stress to become great heroes resting on their shoulders.
She snickered at the talk about why she asked to learn sprinting, catching up with her breathing and giving a casual shrug. “To be fair I totally more asked you to coach me for some buddy time, and also cause I was damn sure your work out would be more intense than what I’ve been doing. Sprinting about like a silly billy is just icing on the cake of spending time with you I guess.” She stuck out her tongue with a nice bright smile, hands tucking into her pockets as she held one of her brightest smiles.
Her eyes widened a little at the idea there was another trick she had yet to learn and she was grinning nice and wide as she rubbed her hands together. She definitely just wanted to get some good training in at first with Kirk but the more she learned, hey, the better. Similar to her cartwheels huh? Well this was bound to be interesting with Kirk’s physique. She folded her arms to keep her warmth in and stepped a little closer, eager to watch. When she realized he was offering her a way to trip up her opponents, she couldn’t help but chuckle, but in no way was she very eager to deny the trick. “Oh I mean, if you’re showing me I’m all eyes. Dunno if they’ll see it as a dirty trick or not on the course but I’m totally game to pick it up.” Wasn’t exactly the cartwheel she was hoping to see the bulky Kirk do but it was certainly something to pick up on, even if she only used it in future football matches. “Nice technique though. No wonder you’re the captain, captain.~” She smirked with a teasing wink.
Yumi did jolt a little at the panic slide as he seemed to be rushing towards her. Not that she didn’t trust herself to get out of the way but it elicited a light jump when he dove forward, snickering and giggling, dusting some snow from his hair as he found his way back up to his feet. “You dork.” She chimed in, though with a friendly, borderline affectionate tone about it. “I get it though, its something I’m keeping in mind with one of my new skills. Gotta keep myself streamlined so I can fit through all the nooks and crannies and all that yeah?” She beamed brightly as she always did, ruffling a bit more snow out of her hair as she did.
When the spotlight was turned on her for a change she was a little taken off beat, letting out a lightly nervous chuckle and trying to wave it off. “Oh come on you don’t come to me for movement tricks. When I first came here I was more of a cluts that a pratfaller in a comedy act.” She didn’t offend herself, just laughing at the analogy she created. “Besides most of my stuff is related to my quirk unless that’s what you wanna see? Or I mean….” She looked about, as if she’d be able to find her answer somewhere around her before giving a lightly nervous shrug again and chuckled a little. “I mean…unless you wanna learn a cartwheel?”
Really Yumi just didn’t have many tricks trained in her bag. She was a great improviser, or so she was told, but as for tried and true tactics she could pass on to friends…yeeeah not so much.

Of course, Yumi immediately brought up her breathing still being bit of an issue, as it seemingly caught up with her finally. "Eh, That sort of things fixed by repetition!" Admittedly, all that Kirk himself had learned was just continuously repeating his moves until he had them down proper. In that regard, it was surprising to see her pick these things up so quickly. "Eventually you'll find your rhythm to breath with, and then, you are golden!" Besides, she was still ready to put on a happy face and bow to him in thank yous. In some sort of sprinting competition, people were always falling left to right afterwards with how exhausted they were! And they had been doing this for a little while already!
However, she seemingly didn't think being a class president was so special... It certainly confused Kirk a little bit. He would certainly add a vote for her if Darren and Naoru didn't take the first two spots. She was always the one who stood in front of the class when Junko wanted to announce something and couldn't be around herself. And she was the face of the class on multiple occasions. In his opinion, she did a great job. He could only hope, that the people in his club trusted him as much. He just couldn't understand why she didn't enjoy it?
...Come to think of it, Naoru had been very much the same way when they had last voted...
However, when Yumi brought up, that she had more invited him just to hang out instead of full on training... Well, Kirks attention shifted, as he went "Ooooh!" Like he had realized some big mystery. Admittedly, it made a little bit more sense than her needing just training. She could do plenty by just flying around like a madman. "Well... I don't mind hanging out if I am asked to! Doesn't need to be sporty, I just like my things that way!" Honest to blame... If anybody of his class asked him to do some training or just to play a game with them, Kirk propably wouldn't say no, even if it was Risaka asking. "Just the sort of time when I like a distraction too!" With the sports festival events looming, this was the perfect sort of training. His mind was concentrated on making somebody else better, and not himself.
The last few moves went swimmingly, and Yumi was as attentive as usual. Good for her, since othervise she would have propably fallen over from the slide accidentally hitting her. Kirk couldn't help but shake his head a bit in reaction to Yumi cleaning snow off of it. But what she said did seem like he had gotten his point across. "Of course, you don't need to use the kick to hit a foe! You can use it to break through some annoying log blocking the way for your slide for example! ...If your legs thick enough to handle it of course, hehe!" Just looking at her, it was kind of hard not to smile with her... It was almost like she was a battery made out of them.
However, when it came to him asking her for some tips, Kirk couldn't help but have his eyes widen as she explained that... technically she didn't have any techniques of this kind! Heck, she was being so awkward about it, that she couldn't have been lying! "EEEEEH!?" His jaw almost hit the snowy floor! Seriously!? She only knew cartwheels!? Well, come to think of it she didn't even know how to dash proper until now so... But she was pretty much the leader of the class and everything! He almost seemingly tried "fixing his face" a couple of times, trying to close his eyes and mouth to not look so awkward, only to end up laughing proper, as he placed his hand on his warm forehead!
For even the shortest of times he had thought of her as too good for training with him... And now he finds out the only thing she could do that he couldn't on the ground was CARTWHEELS of all things! "You know what!? LET'S DO IT!" He suddenly lifted his fist in determination. "Teach me how to cartwheel! Lead on, prez!" She had been calling him a captain for ages, so it was about time he used a proper title for her... He would have propably been a little bit scared of using it before, but this brief realization had given him bit of a reason to use it: He LIKED being called captain, so if he called her prez as a good thing, maybe she would see that it was a good thing too?

Yumi nodded along to his encouragement, making sure her breathing was steady again as quickly as she physically could without just pumping oxygen directly into her veins, resting her hands into her pockets to keep herself warm. This was definitely one of her main issues, regulating her stamina. She felt she had good odds given she jogged so often, and in the obstacle course, a jog was likely what she should keep to to conserve stamina…but still, she needed to make sure everything was okay should she need to sprint. She had no idea what to expect from the event, so she had to be prepared for anything and everything in the face of this. “Yeah, I getcha…just gotta get my hours in before the obstacle course eh? What is it er…ten thousand hours before you master something? Yeah I’m er…I’m definitely gonna be able to squeeze that into a few days.” She snickered and chuckled at herself, finally steadying herself and ready to move forward. Not that she knew what he was thinking, but Yumi definitely enjoyed being club president. She liked the roll, it helped her feel valid, she just didn’t have so much belief that she was useful in the roll, but she was definitely trying to change that in the face of what Alex had left her with. She never agreed with him on a lot of it, but he definitely put in more effort than her and she was eager to make sure she filled in the gaps. She was feeling much better since Semper Fi, and most importantly she had to make sure it didn’t go to waste. She felt she’d just acted as an excuse for poor uniforms for a while, which she did enjoy…she just knew she needed to be something a little more. She wasn’t just the face for the class this ‘term’, she needed to be far more engaged and go forward with a spirit to put her class up high. Not above everyone else…but high enough to be seen, and she needed to be a good face to be seen when it happened.
She wasn’t sure how Naoru would do as her VP, heck she’d never really interacted with him in the past beyond passing interactions, yet somehow he seemed to have an impossibly strong vibe among all the other members of the class? She definitely needed to spend more time with him and see if the two of them were on the same page going forward. She didn’t want to force him into anything, or exclude him either like Alex had with her. Yeah. She wanted to find some time for him when she thought about it…
She smiled warmly, she had invited him to also push just her natural exercise and such to the next level, but yeah it was definitely key to her to just wanna spend time with him. Kirk was just such a big part of her class with his life and his energy and Yumi couldn’t deny that for a second, and so, she needed to express that in spending more time getting to know him. “Well I’m sure once the festival’s over we can plan a game night with some pizza or something. But for nooow.” She lightly bumped her hip into his with a wide grin. “We definitely need to push ourselves, whatever events we signed up for.” She winked playfully, gently nudging him with her elbow. “No distractions for you yet champ. Gotta keep yer head in the game.~ Shouldn’t be me of all people showing the most drive. Heck, ESPECIALLY not me~”
She’d definitely been a little nervous in the face of those moves, careful not to slip over herself when she was just watching and glad to watch Kirk express his energy as he put himself forward like that. “Oh yeah? Hmmm…that definitely sounds like a nice use of it. I mean I’m definitely not the kind to break through a damn log but if there’s a thin fence or something I’m sure I can make a break in it.” She stuck out her tongue with a light giggle, listening to him offer his suggestions in how to better her own technique and use what he was teaching her, ears open to absolutely everything.
Yumi snickered and sputtered into her hand as Kirk offered to take on the art of the cartwheel, but she was just giggling her ass off for a few moments. “L-look to be clear maybe there’s…SOMETHING I can teach you? But…everything I do feels so natural. I don’t watch youtube guides or anything weird like that I just…take something that feels natural and I run with it? Carthweels are just one of the few things standing out as something that doesn’t feel ultimately natural so…yeah.” She shrugged oddly. “I mean if you still wanna learn we’ll go for it, but if you ever see me pulling of something you don’t know how to do, just point it out yeah? I’m sure we can take it from there…for now though…”
She took a few steps away, giving herself some space and finding the grass throught he snow so she didn’t put her hands right down on any sharp gravel through the white fluff. Yeah she had a good spot. “Okay so…Cartwheels can look really fluid to someone who does it normally, but it really takes a lot more balance than you might think. Sometimes you can do them from a stand like-“ She flipped onto her hands, keeping her legs high and doing the most basic of cartwheels, and as she was done, she took a few steps back from where she was using to flip and smirked. “But with your size, I’d suggest doing a run up so you can carry your momentum-!” She rushed up to the spot and put the run into the cartwheel, flipping about on a cartwheel again and landing on her feet, but carrying the momentum with her still as she actually jumped into a backflip, landing on her feet and bouncing through the snow with an excited “Ta-DA!~”
