sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
Delta Ivey was still on the prowl. A purse over her shoulder - the upper right one - contained her weapons of choice for this hunt. A stack of cards, each bearing her own design for the establishment she owned. 'The Fourth Corner'. With these cards, Delta sought to enrapture young candidates for employment within her bar, youthful and vibrant figures who could fill her team and only add to the unique atmosphere of the place... For cheaper than an adult! Yes, as questionable as it might have seemed, Delta's purpose for attending the U.A. Sports Festival was not in the interest of witnessing the next generation of Heroes, but rather, for her own somewhat more selfish purposes. Of course, she'd be watching the main events too, out of pure curiosity, but until they arose, the four-armed women focused her efforts on scouting out talented young men and women from the school's ranks. The woman's keen amber eye had already spied out a few potential culinary experts to round out her bar's appeal, and now she was looking for some more unique additions to her team. The Fourth Corner wasn't just about drinks and food, it was about atmosphere . Nothing added to the atmosphere quite like a good performance, and Delta was sure that this school of budding Heroes would possess some unique and talented acts. As much of a stand-out among civilians as ever, Delta strode down the main alley of U.A. with a lightness in her step and a purposefulness to her stride. With her stomach fill, it was time to treat her other senses in the pursuit of a worthy entertainer. For that, she'd consulted the map of the main alley, til her lone eye found the most likely hunting ground for the prowling older woman. It seemed that, in spite of a lacking of any official music club at U.A., there was nonetheless an area in which U.A.'s array of instruments might be on display, within that lot of theirs. Even U.A. must have had some brass or guitar or even a piano tucked away, so what better place to scout out some performers for the bar's occasional live music? Sourcing local bands and such was usually effective, but it wasn't always consistent and most artists weren't exactly dedicated to their bar alone. If Delta, however, could find someone who the bar might be able to claim as its own, an act which itself might be able to draw people in... Well, that might just be a jackpot. With a wide and toothy grin, Delta set off, her lone amber eye guiding her via the map to this area of U.A.'s lot where instruments would be on display, where performers were free to perform to their heart's content, if they didn't' mind the potential attention they might receive... Basking in the festival's atmosphere as she moved, Delta couldn't help but compare it to her own bar, the liveliness that didn't approach chaos... It was the perfect testing ground for any 'candidates' of hers! 507 WORDS |

Dreams breathe life into men. The stars... I'll reach them.
It's going to be okay... Yeah, I'm fine, I'm tottally fine, the sixteen year old spoke while in one of the male locker rooms, standing in front of a full-body mirror. The reflection showed something that wasn't really usual, especially at the school grounds. Ryuusei Igarashi was wearing a two-piece formal suit: black blazer, tie, pants and shoes, with a white collar shirt. First they had convinced him to show the school to some of the british foreign students that were visiting. Now they were essentially making him play the piano at one of the areas of the festival. Apparently, the Yuuei Staff had prepared an area dedicated to music and, since there wasn't a music club, they searched for students who could play musical instruments in order to have them play for every bystander. Being the Vice-President of his class, it was obvious that Ryuusei couldn't decline when his teacher told him about the idea. It's just one song, it's no big deal... he kept on repeating, trying to forget the last time he played the piano in front of other students. His dyed blonde hair was loose - but well taken care off - and Ryuu decided to keep a earring on his left ear on: a little silver hoop, with two small chains of the same material hanging from it. It had been requested that he dressed well, since he would be representing the school, so Ryuusei dressed to impress - something his mother had been ecstatic about, since it had been a long time since the family had been to an event that required formal wear. Thank god they're not here, Ryuusei thought of his parents: Minato's build of a mountain and Hiroko's screams of a happy mother would have surely drawn attention. Ryuu's plan was simple: get to the music area, sit in front of the piano, play immediately and then get the hell out of there as quick as possible in order to change back to his more confortable clothes as soon as he could. Slapping himself softly with both hands, the time had arrived. Let's go, he announced to himself. The staff hadn't specified to him a tiime to play, just the day. Taking advantage of this, Ryuusei chose a time where he assumed there would be few people in the area (inclunding his friends). The less the better. Walking at a fast pace, he was quick to arrive to the designated zone. The piano was at the ground level, which in Ryuusei's mind was a good thing: if it was elavated on a stage or platform it would've only drawn more attention to him. It was a grand piano just like the one he had at his home - probably worse quality, but it would do. Ryuusei was a man on a mission and because of that didn't even look around to see how big was the crowd: after sitting down, it was only him and the piano, just like always; just like it should be. The boy did not have any partiture with him. The song he had chosen to play was self-composed and he knew it by heart, so a paper would've just been a burden to carry around. His fingers gently caressed the keys for some seconds and then, when it felt right, Ryuusei Igarashi started to play. Music Played: Violet Evergarden Opening - Sincerely, as played by TheishterIt was only around two minutes long, but Ryuusei's ability was on full display. Not only was it something that he had written himself, but technically it was also pretty good. His ability was, at least, the same as the one of a professional piano player and that showed. Afterall, if he hadn't applied to Yuuei at the last minute, Ryuu would probably have been able to enter any of the top musical schools in the country.
After finishing the piece, Ryuusei bowed - like one always should - and started to walk away at the same pace with which he had arrived, not paying attention to whether the crowd was applauding or displaying a silence of complete indifference.
It could've been better, the perfectionist in Ryuu's mind yelled. Anyways, it was time to go back to the locker room and pretend he hadn't just played in the school grounds. Or was it? Notes: Playing at school isn't fun!Words: 723.Tags: Delta Ivey

sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
Delta Ivey was lacking one eye, burned away and left with that striking scar where it had once been, but the lone amber orb she possessed was more than enough for her purposes. Discerning and keen, it all but scanned over the area presented to her, firstly at the crowd who’d amassed. It was one of the less busy times of the day, but the fewer numbers could also indicate lower expectations for whoever would be up soon… Hidden talent or a lack thereof? Delta would soon find out, and the decision between the two would not be a difficult one. Not at all. Of course, before she heard the pianist, Delta saw him. He came out like a rocket, blasting towards the piano in a beeline as if it were the only other thing in the room. Her amber eye locked onto him, already taken in by his appearance alone. He was a handsome young lad, if one were to speak simply and broadly. But there was also something more to his appearance, a certain… Yearning to it. A desire to break out of it, perhaps? He wasn’t comfortable in that suit of his. His hair, though taken care of, wasn’t particularly groomed or anything. And that earring was striking, practically screaming out that there was more to him than met the eye. Immediately, Delta was intrigued. Taking her place among the crowd, Delta waited as he sat at the piano - still not a glance towards those watching him. Such behaviour usually indicated an extreme confidence that his music would do the talking, or a shyness and lack of showmanship resulting. Perhaps the answer lies somewhere in between, or not even in either realm, but an aspect of the former was all but certain. His playing would speak for him, in a tongue that was unconsciously understood by almost all. People weren’t being dramatic when they called music a language. Although Delta didn’t speak it on the levels on an expert, this boy ended up being able to convey himself through the feelings of his ‘speech’ alone. He played from the heart, something Delta realized the moment he first began without referring to anything first. That he’d written it himself wasn’t something that could be immediately guessed, but some connection to this song filled his playing. As the music gently drifted through the air, it was clear to Delta that he didn’t just speak this language, he felt it. Like any professional, the song existed in his mind, in his heart, on the tips of his fingers. Delta grinned widely at the display, at the talent before her. It didn’t hit her until about halfway through his performance that this was a student. A high schooler. A teenager, and yet, he played with such passion and feeling and professionalism! To call him a prodigy wouldn’t be wrong by any definition of the word. Even more, watching this love for the art flow worth through his hands while he was caged and yearning for ‘something’ was utterly fascinating to the four-armed woman. Only one thing was on her mind when he concluded. ’Oh, I must have him…’A proper gentleman, he bowed to the audience, to Delta’s natural applause. Which, obviously, sounded like the applause of two people thanks to her extra limbs, no that it could be discerned amongst the others impressed with his work. Yet, as quickly as he’d arrived and beelined for the piano, the boy began to depart. He wasn’t going to escape Delta that easily, though. If there was but a chance she could feature this boy in her establishment, she would reach out and grab it with all four hands! Delta began making her way through and past the crowd, making use of her excess of limbs to ensure none got in her way as she tracked down the escaping pianist. As he approached the exit, so did Delta near him, calling out in an excitable tone. ”Ah, do not leave so soon, my dear pianist!” If he turned to the source of the voice, Ryuusei would spot the peculiar woman, with her four arms, her light ginger hair, her lone amber eye… Her striking appearance was facing toward him, her lower hands resting low while her upper gestured with her words. ”I must tell you, it was a marvelous performance~ Truly, this school has done you a disservice by only having you play a single song.” Her palms opened, in a sudden gesture of apology. ”Ah, my manners. I’m Delta Ivey. Tell me, dear, this may seem sudden, but do you play at events often? Or… In any professional capacity?” Of course, she already knew the follow-up, if the answer was no.

Dreams breathe life into men. The stars... I'll reach them.
He thought he had heard some applauses. Even if he didn't want to admit it, that made Ryuusei happy inside. He really had been putting a lot of effort into playing the piano lately and, since the one who had teached him was his sister, it felt good to see that others realized the skill he possessed: it meant that, in a way, they all also recognized how talented his sister was. But that was something that he could think about better when he got back home. Now it was time to get going: Ryuusei couldn't risk beeing seen like that - so exposed - in front of one of his friends. However, destiny wouldn't have it this way. An older, feminine voice called out for him from a few steps behind. "Dear pianist", she had said out loud. Surely she meant Ryuusei. Dammit..., he said in a voice only he could hear. No matter how anxious he was to leave the showcase area, he couldn't just straight up ignore someone - especially someone that probably wanted to either give him praise or criticism. Turning around Ryuusei's eyes met a woman not that much shorter than him. She only had her left eye, with a big scar of damaged tissue in the place of her right one. Her ginger hair was long, reaching a lenght that made it go until the area of the woman's elbows. It was while taking notice of this that Ryuusei noticed the most striking feauture of this older lady: she had not two, but four arms. Ryuusei's face, however, remained completly normal. In this world of Quirks, he had learned to not except what was common in the almost forgotten past. Ryuusei walked closer to her as she complimented him on his performance. Her speech was of the high-class, her voice also carrying something of rich in it. Along with her appearence, it made the woman look both charismatic and charming during this first impression. Before Ryuu could reply, the lady interrupted herself in order to say who she was: Delta Ivey - a weird name, but one that somehow made sense, thought Ryuusei - was how she was called and she wanted to know a couple of things about Ryuusei. It was only then that he replied. Thank you so much for the compliment, I don't deserve it but I'll work hard in order to be worthy of such praise - he started off by saying, bowing while doing so. In this situations, Ryuusei couldn't hide his rich and traditional background at all. My name is Ryuusei, Igarashi Ryuusei. I used to play in various events and competitions when I was younger - he was refering himself to the times when his sister was awake, before he stopped playing for some time - But recently no, not really. It was cool to see that someone was so interested in his performance, no matter how much he wanted to get out of there. God, wasn't that suit even more unconfortable than the Yuuei uniform. sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
Curious and curiouser, was the boy standing before the older woman. He displayed little reaction to Delta's appearance, not even the multitude of limbs or the scarred flesh that was entirely unhidden. Perhaps, being at this rather interesting school, there wasn't much that could surprise or fascinate him to the point of visible reaction. Which was fair, and a perfect trait for Delta's own purposes. However, far more curious was how he spoke to her, following the four-armed woman's introduction. His manner of speaking conveyed a desire to come across as well-composed and well-mannered, the typical stylings of the upper-class. It sounded natural on his tongue, yet not entirely. To Delta, the way he spoke came across as more... Adaptive than anything else. Likely thanks to the observation she'd already made about his appearance, how that suit seemed so comfortable on him, how it looked like he was ready to break out of it like it were a cage. A trapped being could cry in the anguish of its captivity, was music his way of screaming? Delta's mind was awash, as usual, with the most interesting details and theories she could discern with that amber eye of hers. He was certainly more humble than one might expect of such a performance, but then again, Delta did suppose it might be relative. His upbringing oozed out of his mannerisms, perhaps his expectations had been already raised beyond reach. Nonetheless, Delta would voice her own opinion. "Nonsense. Undeserved praise comes only with flattery, and I'm not trying to flatter you, my dear~" Of course, that wasn't entirely true, but... Mostly, and that was good enough for her. When he revealed the infrequency of his recent performances, the knock of opportunity came, and Delta's lone amber eye lit up with glee and curiosity. "So you don't play much anymore, hm?" She hummed lightly, one hand on her chin and another reaching into her purse. "Would you like to?"It would become clear right away this wasn't asked out of mere curiosity, as from her purse Delta would retrieve a simple business card, presenting its more elegant side toward Ryuusei. A bar's interior was pictured, a rather nice one at that, with the clear labeling of its name upon it. 'The Fourth Corner'. "You see, I'm the owner of an establishment currently seeking young talent such as yourself to further improve the atmosphere at present. I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this, dear~"One of her arms extended the business card toward the boy inviting him to take it. "I can tell you much more, if you're interested, but firstly I'll let you know you won't have to wear such a tight and stuffy suit. Undo a button, dear, let yourself breathe~" Delta chuckled lightly to herself, wanting to convey something that might catch the interest of this caged boy before her. "As said, I've more to say. If, of course, if you don't mind me borrowing a bit more of your time. I'm sure you didn't exactly schedule for a job offer."Of course, this wasn't official in any meaning of the word, but Delta hoped her charm was enough to blunt force her way through this... That innate and caged desire that she thought might be within him, would she be able to tempt it with the promise of a key to his cage? A way to scream? A freer home, perhaps?

You don't need a dream or even a tomorrow Just live
In an almost unconscious manner - and without uttering a single word - Ryuusei made a very small bow, almost only a slight nodding of his head, when Delta Ivey reassured him that his performance was deserving of her genuine praise. After the teenager spoke, the woman in front of him seemed to ponder for a few seconds what she had just heard. Her lone eye was wide-open and her hand was pressed against her chin - a thinking posture contrasting to Ryuu's straight, yet relaxed one. It was then that the four armed lady spoke a few words, finishing with a question that had the sensation of an underlying proposal. It was only for a few moments that Ryuusei had to wonder about what the older woman meant, since she was quick to explain herself. An establishment looking for young talent, she said. Kinda vague, Ryuusei thought, even if it was easy to denote what she was proposing to him, just like she had said. He grabbed the card and took a look at it while Delta kept talking. The Fourth Corner, the words he was reading gained a vound inside of his head. By the looks of it, this establishment that the woman owned was a bar - and a very good looking one, if the card wasn't deceiving. Furthermore, it seemed that Delta was interested in having Ryuusei as one of her employees. Taking into account that she approached him after he played the piano, she probably wanted him as a performer. Ryuusei's eyes only changed their focus of the card when his possible future boss made a lighthearted joke about his suit. Oh. Sorry, he said instantly, without thinking and with a slight smile while, with his free right hand, he loosen his tie up. This out of nowhere job offer (at least it was what it seemingly was shaping out to be) came in a very good time, even if Ryuusei wouldn't say that out loud. Following recent events and the promise he made to his parents, the Yuuei student was really set on slowing down and focusing on being the most normal teenager that he could be. Taking a job could be something important to obtain such normality - and to also keep his mind occupied. It seems interesting - he said while taking a last look at the card, placing it on the vest pocket straight after - I'd like to listen more, if you don't mind. Besides playing the piano I'm sure that I could also be a waiter or help in other ways that you might need. But...He scratched his cheek with his index finger. Can I go change clothes before we continue talking? he decided to ask. It was being a pleasant surprise, but it was already too much time for Ryuusei to be exposed in the middle of U.A. while wearing a formal suit. Notes: A job offer?! Yaaay!Words: 486.Tags: Delta Ivey

sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
Everything about this boy screamed in some kind of desire, that was all that Delta could presume about him. Whether or not her presumption was correct was another story, but it did end up being what led her to her sudden offer. Perhaps if she gave him a chance to claim something of his own volition, he'd jump at the offer? That was her thinking, the thinking that had motivated her approach to the sports festival in general. Offer these young boys and girls a chance, a strange and enticing chance, a profitable and alluring chance, that would seem to descend from the heavens... Opportunity didn't knock twice, so Delta hoped one knock would get her some employees. Unbeknownst to Delta, however, it was not any allure of its curiousness that ended up drawing in Ryuusei's intrigue, but instead of normalcy. Her plan of being the saintly deliverer of a pleasant surprise had been successful, but not for the reasons she'd intended. Once the boy admitted he wanted more talk, Delta nodded her head lightly, having foreseen he'd want more information. If he'd excepted the offer without anything more than what little Delta had offered, she might have thought him a bit too trusting of a strange woman that approached teenagers with business cards... "Of course, of course. Performing wouldn't be your only duties, I am merely... Well, looking for employees with a little something more to them." Unique abilities and traits that she could utilize, was Delta's goal, in order to add even more intrigue and wonder to her lovely establishment. However, Ryuusei did have one stipulation. "Oh, go ahead, dear. I'll be waiting back here, while you break free of that suit." Delta uttered with a chuckle. The more she thought about it, it wasn't really too notable that Ryuusei was uncomfortable in a suit. Most boys his age weren't exactly fans. "Ah, unless there's somewhere better to reconvene." Delta added, allowing Ryuusei to answer before they temporarily parted ways. This was getting interesting, and the four-armed woman couldn't wait to reel in her latest catch. Depending on his answer, the woman would be waiting wherever was best for his return, looking composed and plotting as ever while she prepared herself to answer whatever questions this potential new employee might have. Though Delta was, in many respects, a strange and unconventional woman, she'd managed well enough so far.

You don't need a dream or even a tomorrow Just live
It looked like the woman that went by the name of Delta Ivey was interested in the idea of Ryuusei doing more of just playing the piano if he was to become a Fourth Corner employee. She was looking for someone "with a little something more to them", she said. Ryuusei surely add that - both in good and dark ways. The ginger coloured hair business woman also didn't seem too bothered about the student's request of changing outfits before continuing their conversation. That was great, really great - regular clothes, finally. No, it's okay. Please sit down on one of the benches while you wait, I'll be quick, he said, bowing to her before turning his back and walking towards the lockerooms at a fast pace. And, in fact, Ryuusei did just like he said and was rather quick in going changing clothes. He kept the earing and necklace, but was happy to change all the rest: an oversized black sweater, military green cargo pants and black shoes was the outfit the boy was now wearing. 10 to 15 minutes was what it took Ryuu to come back to Delta's presence. If she was sitting, the 1-A Vice-President would sit at her side; if she was standing, the boy would stop in front of her, just like they were before. Sorry for making you wait, he would start by saying. It was time for the fun part. Not that he didn't plan his next question as soon as he saw the card and noted that it's location was in Kabukicho - afterall, he wouldn't had accepted the offer to listen more if he did not possess some questions on his mind. A one-eyed Quirker opening a bar at Kabukicho and recruiting for employees at Yuuei... Ryuusei payed attention to every detail of a situation he was involved in: his encounter with Nari at Kabukicho a few months back and, more recently, the Rescue Team meeting made such thing clear. The game of reading others was one that Ryuu found amusing, interesting and, above all, good to stimulate the brain. With that in mind, out of nowhere... So, what is The Fourth Corner covering up for?Expressionless, he looked at Delta to see her facial reaction to the question spoken in a casual tone. If it was a cover-up for something or not, Ryuusei didn't really care: for him it was just a game, the answer didn't matter. That's why, before Delta had a chance to reply - but after Ryuu denoted something from the woman's reaction (or lack of) - he talked again, smiling. I'm just kidding - he said, cutting the possible tension of the previous question - I really just want to know want do you expect me to do as an employee, the schedule I'd have and those types of things. The normal stuff, I guess. He didn't ask about pay because, to be honest, he wasn't interested in the offer for that aspect: with his family's wealth, Ryuusei knew that, if he wanted, he didn't need to work a single day of his life. sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
"I'll be waiting~"Delta hummed as she followed the requests of the young boy to wait. Fortunately, she could be patient if it was to attain some kind of reward, in this case a fascinating new employee with some skills to impress her clientele. It was good that he was interested too, for Delta had faith that a platform in which they could both learn about one another would result in a most beneficial arrangement. He gets paid and promoted through his work, she gets to show off her own eye for people once again. As per his promise, Ryuusei returned in short order, and would find Delta sat upon the bench, upright and patient as she grinned toward the returning pianist. He was now clad in attire more... Expected of someone his age. The earring and necklace remained, Delta wondering more about these somewhat signature accessories. His clothing was fashionable enough, as far Delta could tell, and much more comfortable than that suit he had on before. The differenece was night in day in that regard. "Ah, there aren't any worries, my dear~ I think you look much more at home outside that suit anyway." Delta commented with a warm smale, folding her four hands over her lap as she sat straight and proper, amber eye looking over Ryuusei with the same curiosity of before, and all the intrigue and charm. Of course, he was the one with the most questions, given the strangeness of the situation, so Delta would have to make her own assessments based on what he asked rather than her own inquisition to start... He at least gave her something to bite into with that first question of his! Right away, Delta's mouth turned up in a smale of amusement, a small beginning of a chuckle escaping her mouth as she raised a hand to her mouth, about to speak before Ryuusei claimed it a joke. It was sudden, certainly, but in a way... Not entirely out of the blue. A bar in Tokyo's premier red light district seeking the employment of a high school boy? He'd every right to suggest it was shady, to ask so bluntly was surely his way of testing that. He had some general questions about the work, notable not bringing up the idea of payment anytime soon. It was clear any interest he had was unrelated to potential earnings, else he might have asked about this very important facet of this unconventional offer earlier. Delta unfolded her hands, gesturing with them as she spoke. "Well, my dear, firstly, you don't need to worry about any secretive elements~" She hummed with a half-grin. "The Fourth Corner is exactly what it looks like. I would have it no other way." It was a matter of principle and practicality. Taking sides, doing shady deals, it fractured the neautrality the bar offered, and was really just more of a handful than Delta cared for. "As for your expected work, it would vary. Our collection of performers is limited, so some nights you may be expected to entrance the clientele with that playing of yours~" A chuckle from her mouth as she made floaty conducting movements with her hand. "Most of the time, your duties would be those of a server, to begin with. Taking drinks and bites to the customers, making sure they're enjoying themselves, cleaning finished tables, etc. You would be a tender of the place~ Working hours, of course, are flexible for someone of your age, and typically afternoons and evenings, with some late nights will be on offer~" Delta spoke with a flowing and fluid nature, going through the relevant aspects as they came into her mind. "However, I'm not one for... Shall we say, predetermined states~ So, all is negotiable, if you have any further inquiries~" Delta hummed, opening a hand and gesturing towards Ryuusei, passing it back to him. Hopefully he'd have found it agreeable enough so far, and hopefully, Delta would see what else he had to offer. 0000 WORDS |

You don't need a dream or even a tomorrow Just live
Her reaction was about what Ryuusei expected taking into account Delta's entire demeanor since they had met some minutes before. A slight chuckle covered by her own hand: it was like the woman had been surprised by the question, but, at the same time, was fully awaiting for Ryuu to utter it. Her body also seemed relaxed, not bothered by the Yuue student's words. That was good enough for Ryuusei: not that he thought he would get some kind of answer even if The Fourth Corner really was some type of shady business. The older woman made sure to ease any possible worries Ryuusei might have had towards The Fourth Corner before she explained the duties she would attibute to Ryuusei as an employee. Playing the piano, acting as a waiter, welcome the customers, cleaning after everyone was gone - the usual stuff, nothing that surprised Ryuusei. After she finished speaking by indirectly asking Ryuusei if he had any more questions, the boy would response. No, everything seems pretty good to me, he said while pulling a notebook and a pen from his schoolbag. Opening one of the pages, Ryuusei used the pen to write his own phone number. Then, he ripped the small part in which he had written and gave it to Delta, expecting one of her arms to grab it. That's my phone number. We can talk more via message if needed and I'll send you my school schedule for you to build my working hours around it.
