She is excitable and cheerful as children often are, and she doesn't know the meaning of the word "shy". Because of this it's easy for Kayda to speak to strangers and get to know new people, which helps with her future plans. That said, all the charisma in the world can't make up for the fact that Kayda is, still, a child. She has her fits, throws tantrums, and there are just some things about the world she doesn't know about or can't understand yet. When moments like these arise she depends on her sister or mother to either calm her down or explain as best they can what she can't grasp. Her mother and sister are her anchors, and she loves them both dearly. | APPEARANCE HEIGHT: 4'3" WEIGHT: 29.5 kg HAIR/STYLE: Black, reaches her mid-back and usually braided. SKIN/SCARS: Peach. EYES: Amber Brown NOTABLES: Growing from the center of her head among her hair is a "patch" of golden threads. More on this in her Quirk. Tiny, a little chubby, and all-around adorable, Kayda is still a child that's just starting to grow into that awkward teen phase. She still has all her baby fat on her cheeks, giving her a round, soft look and her eyes are wide and always inquisitive. Her hair--one of her main sources of pride--is long and black like her mama's, and she carefully braids the end of it to keep it nice and neat. Because she's young she hasn't experimented much with her own style, instead wearing what's been picked out for her, meaning she winds up in fairly cute, often quite expensive outfits. One notable part of her attire is on her head: she is rarely seen in public without a hat on, due to the nature of her Quirk. When at school or home she doesn't seem to mind, but when walking the streets, her mother tends to put on one her... |

HISTORY Kayda is the second daughter of the Osagawara family heir. The Osagawara family has been known in Japan since the middle ages, and though it's still a fairly recent industry, they have been making another name for themselves with a slew of tactile Quirks in their bloodline creating costumes, equipment, and accessories for Heroes and Vigilantes alike. Kayda's mother, Kin, is the second wire of the current head of the household, while his first wife also gave him a daughter before her passing. but she wasn't born with a Quirk that was "useful" to the family's latest business endeavors. Kayda was, and because of this has been confirmed to be the next head when her father passes. Of course all of this is to take place far, far into the future. Family business and heirs and the like asides, Kayda's family is pretty wonderful. Her father and mother both have Quirks, as does her elder sister Nemuri. When she was four, her sister left for Tokyo for school, and Kayda was torn between wanting to follow after her big sister and staying close to home. At first she believed Nemuri would be back as soon as she was done reconnecting with her birth-mother's hometown or something, but when she announced her intentions to stay two years later, Kayda demanded that she, too, be allowed to attend school in Tokyo. Of course she can't live there on her own--and as much as she loves her, Nemuri doesn't have the time with work to raise her sister--so instead she dares to make the commute all the way to the city every day. It's a tiring trip, but had she not gone, she never would have discovered more about the world around her. Because of their wealth and status, Kayda hasn't been exposed to the worst of the stigma surrounding Quirks, but she did know it existed. It just seemed so far away. Unfortunately, around the time she began to attend school in Tokyo, her own Quirk began to manifest its full potential (at least for her current age). With a mutation-based Quirk as obvious as her own, she was noticed more often, and occasionally got dirty looks from older people when she was going too and from the train station. Why, she wondered, did people look at her like that? She wasn't any different than any other child. Sure she had golden thread growing from her head, and sure her mother could weave metal like string, and sure her sister could create sand to put people to sleep, but...all of these people she knew and loved were still just people. Good people. The hate in stranger's eyes when they noticed her caused Kayda nothing but pain. It was that pain that caused her dream to be planted inside her. There were still so many people in the world with Quirks who wanted to keep it safe, even when a good number of those they saved distrusted them. They put themselves in danger. They risked themselves, and their lives, even for those with cold stares and mean thoughts towards them. And if those people were going to be heroes, then she wanted to help them as best she could. She would master her Quirk, and she would help to protect those heroes the same way they protect all those around them. It may be a childish dream now, but given time, it may just bloom into something true. |
