straight line, the other backing it up at a bent angle. 2 quick shots were fired at each of the 3 initial targets before Yumi started to rush forward, bounding over the metal rail that the targets ran aclose and falling into a roll to the cover she’d set up using the training equipment. A few sound effects went off from the targets to indicate gunfire. There was a pause, and at the sound of something akin to reloading Yumi popped up and fired off at the targets. She missed one shot but you couldn’t be perfect on your first try, and a rapid shot to follow was made to correct her mistake. Another set down.
With a burst of her electro magnesis she bounded backwards into a hover-assisted backflip over the cover she was using, using it as she used to to skim along the ground, technically not touching it but aiding her manuverability and speed in the process. Targets popped up in a circle around her, and spinning about on the spot to aid the dispersal of her quirk, she fired out streams in every direction with a full discharge attack, striking down the ambush style targets, panting a little as her charged state dimmed out after.
She heard the final ping of a target popping up, whirled about, and her hands sparked with just one last shot remaining in her, but rather than fire she stopped. The target board had a hostage on it, and while she was sure it had been designed to test her accuracy, firing at the hostage taker and not the hostage, Yumi lowered her arm and caught her breath, letting the buzzer sound and the targets reset.
She wasn’t confident enough in her aim to take that shot, and while practice was good, it was also good to recognize when there was something you just shouldn’t do. Heck, even if her accuracy was good, in a real life situation that would be a terrible move with her quirk. If they were holding a gun, the electric shock would make their finger contract, and while their aim would be poor they’d definitely shoot the hostage.
Sometimes it was just better not to shoot.
Surprised she wasn’t sweating much, kinda proud of the work she was puitting in to even make that possible, she took a long, slow breath through her nose and moved over to the stands beside the training field, dabbing the faint sweat on her forehead and just taking a moment to refresh herself as the targets reset.

It was another day of training for Sean. Despite his laid-back attitude, the blue-haired boy was very serious when it came to his training. He was hoping to one day become a pro hero, after all! There was a time for play, and there was a time for work. Right now, it was work time!
Usually, Sean would head to the pool if he wanted to do his training at school. It was a no-brainer, considering that his quirk revolved around water. However, Sean decided to forgo the pool this time around. After all, it was extremely likely that there would be situations where the boy could not rely on fighting crime or saving lives near a large body of water. No, he needed to prepare for situations where he would not have much water to work with, or no water at all.
Seeing as the sports festival was here, where better to get some training done? As he made his way there, Sean noticed another student getting some training of her own done. She was not anyone Sean knew personally, so he made the conclusion that she must be in a different class. Sean decided to sit down at the stands and watch the redhead's training. She was apparently doing some sort of target practice with her quirk.
Sean wondered whether he should go over and greet the girl, but he decided against it for now. Sean did not want to distract her from her training, so he decided to leave her be for now. Still, her quirk looked like an interesting one. The boy decided to watch the student train for a bit longer before going to do his own training.
From his bag, Sean took out one of his water bottles. This particular one was for quenching his thirst. The others in his bag were for his quirk. As he took a sip from his bottle, the blue-haired boy began to think as he continued to watch the red-haired girl do her thing. Hmm, I wonder if she'll be okay with me joining her if I ask?
Sean then watched as the girl took a break, walking other to the other end of the stands to take a break. He decided to walk over to the redhead, taking out one of his spare water bottles to offer to the girl. "Hi! You want some water?" The boy then smiled in his usual cheery fashion. "I gotta say, that was some pretty nice shooting I saw! Very impressive!" Sean began to wonder if he should do something similar for his training. It wouldn't be too bad to work on his aim. Even if he was more of a close combat and mid-range fighter, it wouldn't hurt to try some long-range attacks for a change.

"Hm?" Hearing a voice behind her, Yumi wasn't all that distracted trying to catch her breath and so quickly found the source of the sound. She vaguely recognized the boy, but in the way you recognized a face you pass in the hall over and over. No personal experience but she at least recognized he wasn't a new student by any means, though very likely in another class. Hearing the offer of some water...while she hadn't worked up too big a sweat she could definitely feel a need to quench her thirst right about now. "Heh, sure I can take you up on that." She smiled, wondering if he was offering a water bottle or the like. If it was a bottle she'd take it and have a modest, bordering on almost generous sip of it to satisfy her thirst there. If he offered water somehow else...like with a quirk. She'd briefly be surprised, but hey, if he was offering. She didn't exactly find it all that weird.
Leaning back on her seat in the benches around the training field she'd been using, she rolled her eyes with a very faint hue to her cheeks. "Oh it was nothin'. Really. I almost choked up towards the end anyway...I think I made the right move though?" She spoke, just registering her thoughts out loud. "I mean...with my quirk I woulda just made him pull the tricker right? Right yeah...that sounds about right to me." She nodded along to herself, confirming she'd been right not to fire. "Still...gotta work on it. Not every target's gonna be so wooden..."
She drifted her eyes back to him, smiling wide and trying to make polite conversation as anyone would. "How about you? What has you spending your weekend on the training fields?"

Sean handed over his water bottle to the redhead. It did not occur to the boy that he could have used his quirk to show off his water manipulation power and give the girl her drink in a less than usual manner. Oh well, there was always plenty of time to show his quirk later. For now, he was just happy that she accepted the water bottle. The boy was always happy to help out others.
It seemed that Sean was not paying enough attention when he was watching the girl's shooting. She had apparently opted to not fire at the final target. Still, from what he was paying attention to, it was clear that the redhead was very good. She was better than him at shooting targets from a distance, at any rate. Sean still had problems with launching water projectiles. He could fire quickly, or he could fire accurately. However, he could not do both. But hey, that's what training is for, right?
Sean's smile matched the girl's as he answered her question. "I didn't really have any plans for the weekend, and my friends are all busy anyway. So I decided to train some more. After all, we're gonna be heroes in the future, so is there really such a thing as too much training in this case? May as well make my free time productive while still having fun." Just as it was important to train hard and often, it was equally important to make sure to have some fun as well. Adolescence did not last forever, after all. So why not have some fun before adulthood and all that came with it took over?
"Oh right! I forgot I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Sean. Sean Mizushima. Nice to meet ya!" The boy then extended his hand to offer a handshake. "What's your name?"

Taking the water bottle she’d give a bright expression with a brief peppy lift of her shoulders in a little silent ‘thanks’ before taking a modest sip from the water bottle. Not too much, but enough to satisfy her thirst at the very least before tossing it back towards the boy, maybe a little too used to everyone training to be a hero having strong hand eye coordination and not thinking of the possibility that may have just ended with the bottle on the floor. It was hopefully forgiveable mistake anyway, assuming he even DID drop it.
Glancing back to the ruined targets that were slowly packing themselves away on the automated system that had been set up for her, she flicked her eyes abck to Shaun, giving a faint smile just showing she was a little worn. This probably wasn’t the first exercise she’d done with the targets today alone from the look of her, but given it was mostly target practice and not physical exertion, she seemed to be handling it quite well whatever the case. She herself still had to focus on getting her shots straight. Lining up a shot was fine, and her lightning would naturally be curved by conductive surfaces…like flesh, but they were still jagged and eratic, so focusing on harnessing her power into a straighter line meant there was less of a chance for misfires, or it being absorbed by a metal bit of poping or furniture along it’s flight path.
“Oh well, I guess I can relate to that.” She smiled as she heard his reason for being here. “I mean…I dunno if my friends are busy persay, but I guess I just didn’t feel like bothering them. I mean I needed to train, so the fact I had no plans was some good motivation…” She snorted at herself and threw her head back with a sigh. “Besides I’d probably just call one of my platonic buds and ask them for some cuddles or something. Hardly the most productive use of my day eh?” Yumi smiled sweetly, talking about her cuddle buddies like her platonic intimacy was completely known to everyone now, where as at the beginning of the year she’d have always felt the need to over explain her views on intimacy and the like. Not so much anymore.
“Still, good to see I’m not the only one putting their weekend to good use!~” She shook his hand firmly and nodded with a bright smile. “Yumi Tasukai, 1 C president, nice to meetcha.~”

Not having expected her to give back the bottle (or have it tossed back to him), Sean had almost failed to catch the bottle. He managed to do so, but got a bit wet as some of the water inside the open bottle splashed up and out the bottle, wetting his face a little. The boy did not mind. In fact, he had rather enjoyed the feeling of cool water hitting his face. For now, he would just hold the water bottle, saving it for either his quirk, or for the redhead in case she wanted more water later.
Sean listened as the redhead explained how she did not feel like bothering her friends, not knowing whether or not they were busy. He found it to be understandable. With how busy his own friends were, Sean was a bit hesitant to make plans with them unless he knew that they were free to hang out, train, etc. The boy chuckled upon hearing the girl say that she would probably have asked her friends for cuddles. "Well cuddles may not help with training as far as I know, but they're still nice to give and get. How cool would it be if there actually were some kind of training involving cuddles, though?" Sean smiled. Wouldn't that be nice? "Still, even if there wasn't anything beneficial to gain, I wouldn't say no if a friend offered to give me one."
Introductions were made, and as Sean shook the girl's hand just as firmly as she was shaking his, he learned her name. Plus, he learned the fact that Yumi was in class 1-C. Another student from that class that Sean had now met! Not only that, she was her class's president! "Hey, that's pretty sweet! I'm in class 1-A myself."
Sean briefly glanced towards the targets that were slowly being packed away. He wondered for a moment just how many he would be able to hit accurately with his quirk. He then turned back to Yumi. He did not mind if she wanted to get back to training straightaway, but he would not have any complaints if she wanted to chat a bit more first. It would be fun either way.

Unable to resist a snicker at the fumbling for the bottle, Yumi politely tried to hand her chuckle behind her hand and shifted her eyes off to the side to further try and hand the giggle even residing in her eyes. “Sorry about that.~” She smiled back towards him, reaching across and cupping his cheek, just brushing her thumb along his cheek to get a few bigger droplets of water that had caught there before rubbing her hand dry on the leggings of her power suit. “There we go. At least now people won’t think you’ve been caught crying~” Of course they never would have anyway but it was an easy joke to make.
“Hahhaha!” She chuckled at the idea of cuddle training and shook her head. “Oh if only my quirk worked on cuddles. That’d be a great excuse to just, drown in a pile of cuddles.” She snickered and rolled her eyes. “Then again when I make it pro, people might stage crimes just for the chance to cuddle me and power me up when I showed up on the scene. Need to always be wary with what you wish for.” She stuck out her tongue and smirked, just teasing about with the idea as silly as it was.
“Ah the realm of Jaz as I know it. What’s it like with that rowdy blonde as a classmate?” She smiled warmly as she leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand and her elbow on her knee with a faintly cheeky smirk at the topic, tipping her head to the side. “She’s just the only one I can always remember is in 1 A. Think I have a few other friends in that class but somehow it’s just easy to tie the class letter to her…Maybe its cause it’s the only vowel in her nickname.~” She smiled and winked with the playful jokey nature of her words before leaning back on the stands, looking out as the targets finally reset, and gesturing to them. “This was kinda designed for me…but fancy a go?”

"It's all good! No worries!" As Sean reassured Yumi that it was fine, he saw her wipe away some droplets of water on his face. As she remarked that now people would not think that Sean was crying, he chuckled at her joke. "Aw, well thank you!" Sean was the kind of person who found jokes like these humorous. Speaking of jokes, Sean laughed at the idea of people faking crimes just to get free cuddles from Yumi. "Ah yeah, that would be nice. The cuddles, I mean, not the increased crime rate."
Sadly, Sean could not tell Yumi much about Jaz. She was one of the people Sean had always wanted to get to know better. Maybe one day it could happen. "Eh, I don't really get the chance to talk with Jasmine much, so I can't really say. She's usually busy with stuff. Hopefully one day that can change. She's definitely pretty cool from what I've seen and heard."
Despite the targets being made with Yumi and her quirk in mind, the redhead offered Sean a go at them. The boy became excited. "Sure thing. Now I can show you my quirk!" Closing his eyes and concentrating, Sean felt the familiar cooling sensation spread throughout his body as he activated his quirk. The water from the bottle he was holding immediately rose out from the bottle and began to hover in the air a bit. As the boy intensified his focus, the water began to change its shape, creating a miniature hand. The water hand then made a thumbs up sign.
After the tiny bit of showing off that Sean could not resist doing, he immediately altered the water's shape again. The watery hand separated into six spheres. Each sphere began to compress and change shape again, this time forming into six pressurized water bullets. Sean grinned. "Okay. Six targets. Six bullets. Let's see how accurate my shots are."
Sean used his quirk to propel the first water bullet as fast as he could make it go. Unfortunately, it missed by a rather large margin. "Whoops, let's try this again!" Another shot at another target. This time, the miss was not as wide. "Ah dang it. So close!" A few more centimeters to the right, and it would have hit the side of the target.
The third water bullet managed to succeed where the others failed. It hit the side of the target, leaving a dent to mark the hit. "Yes! Got one!" The fourth water bullet hit its target as well. The fifth was only slightly off from the center of its target. However, it was the sixth and final water bullet that really impressed. As it flew towards the target, it smashed right through, leaving a small clean hole right in the middle of the target. "Awesome! Best shot right there!"
After gathering the water from the bullets that had hit the targets (the ones that missed were too far away to get now), Sean grinned as he turned to face Yumi. "Four out of six. There's room for improvement, but still not too bad for a first attempt, right?"

Yumi stuck out her tongue with a sweet smile at the thank you to wiping away his ‘tears’, smiling warmly at the playful back and forth between them. She snickered a little with the returned teasing about the hugs though, and scooched herself over, opening her arms. “Aw is that someone’s way of saying they want a hug?~” She winked playfully with a bright smirk.
“Oh well that’s fair. I always got the vibe she more had her own little…circle? Wasn’t a very open person either unless you caught her off guard…” She idly scratched her cheek and shrugged. Was just the facts of Jasmine and not much else to say on the topic there when you got down to it.
Yumi’s eyes widened as she spotted the thumbs up with the water, definitely finding it impressive. While she could produce a lot of electricity, she could only control specifically what exactly was coming out. Controlling an element with such finesse wasn’t in the cards for her so it was interesting to watch anyone control water like that.
“Good luck!” She cheered from the stands as she let Sean move down to where she’d started the targets. Of course as she watched Sean seemed to be having a harder time hitting the targets than herself, but she’d been through the course a few times already so it was to be expected, though Yumi got just as excited as Sean as he finally hit one. “NICE!~”
Hopping down from the side-stands she gave a small, hopefully not sarcastic applause as she walked over, resting her hands against her hips. “Oh definitely. I can get it to set up again for you if you like? But seriously for a first attempt that was pretty damns sweet.~”

words: 430 tag: Yumi Tasukai notes: If at first you don't succeed, just be stubborn until you do |
Sean missed the fact that Yumi's question of if he wanted a hug was merely playful teasing and thought that she was being completely serious. Did she offer free hugs to just anyone, or were they reserved for friends only? If that were the case, then did she already see him as a friend? Sean would be ecstatic were so. In any case, hugs were always nice, and Sean was not about to pass one up. The boy smiled. "Hey, I'm not one for turning down free hugs, so if you're offering, who am I to say no?" Opening his arms as well, Sean gave Yumi a brief but firm hug. Maybe some people would have found hugging a person they had just met to be weird or awkward, but not Sean. "Thank you!"
Afterwards, Sean listened as Yumi talked about Jaz. Not knowing his own classmate very well, the boy could not do much but take Yumi's word for it. Perhaps one day, he would be one of those people inside Jasmine's circle of friends? Or maybe not. Either way, Sean would one day try to talk with the girl whenever she wasn't busy. After all, befriending every single classmate of his was one of Sean's personal goals. Of course, the blue-haired boy would try to befriend everyone if he were able to.
After the target practice, Sean was eager to try again. He was sure he could do better! He may have hit four out of six targets, but why should he stop there? Sean was determined to hit every target he could on the first try. "That would be great. Thanks, Yumi!"
Once Yumi had set up more targets, Sean began to concentrate more, doing his best to focus entirely on his quirk and doing his best to drown out everything else. Ignoring the increasingly cooler and cooler feeling throughout his body due to his quirk, the boy began to shape the water into more bullets. Once he had enough water bullets, and once Sean was a suitable distance away from the targets, Sean aimed and fired at all the targets. Unfortunately, none of them hit their targets dead center like the one from earlier did. Fortunately, only one water bullet missed, and it only missed by about a centimeter or two.
Sean looked back to Yumi and smiled. "Nice! I'm really getting the hang of this!" All he needed to do now was focus on his aim and concentration, and it would only be a matter of time before he could perfectly land every single shot.

Yumi had been at least semi serious in her offer as she ever was. Hugs weren’t just things she offered out to friends, but she did make friends extremely quickly, so Sean’s own potential view was right on the money, and as he moved in for a hug Yumi was very quick to reciprocate, smiling brightly as she wrapped her arms around her fellow student, gently clutching the fabric of whatever he was wearing over his back and letting out a warm, pleasant hum into his shoulder as she squeezed back against him, her hero suit allowing for a somewhat intimate feeling between them given how well it fit her body. “Mmmm that’s the stuff. Now I feel like my batteries are already recharged!~” She stuck her tongue out with a bright smile before giggling away, already liking this new person she’d just met just from the fact he was so open to a hug.
Though Yumi couldn’t know what was going through Sean’s head, they certainly had very similar goals. Yumi was very eager to know each and every one of her own classmates, and maybe the rest of her year beyond that. Sure she could gravitate to the faces she knew a little too easily, but her classmates were all so interesting and vibrant when she got a chance to interact with them, and she was always more than happy to try and throw herself at one or another given the chance. Heck some just made themselves out like a beacon of energy and excitement like Kirk, so she knew she just had to get closer to them, but even the quieter ones were on her list…maybe the sports festival would be a great chance to get to know them all!~
With Sean so gung ho to try the target practice out again, Yumi let out a giggle and adjusted her own seat so she’d be able to have a better view as he went along the course, making herself nice and comfortable, grabbing some of the loose clothes she’d left in the seats earlier when stripping down to her hero suit and using them as a cushion beneath her butt, wiggling into them to get comfy, before finding the small switch that would have the target’s refresh and set back up again. “I’m sure you’ll do great! Let’s see what ya got!~”
She watched him, definitely hitting more targets but without perfect aim. Still! For someone who’d only just started this practice exercise he was making quite the impression, and by the end this time yumi had hopped out of her seat and, given how he’d been so ready for a hug, jumped onto his back with another hug. “Wooop! Another one down!~ You’re a quick learner~” She landed off him just as quick, grinning wide at him with her hands on her hips, displaying herself nice and confidently. “I’d say you should go again but there’s only so many times a practice run like that can do ya any good. You came out here to train yourself yeah? What have you been doing to prepare for the festival?”

words: 350 tag: Yumi Tasukai notes: Sadly, not everyone is this enthusiastic about hugs |
Sean's face shone brightly with joy as he and Yumi hugged. Ah, hugs felt so nice! Really, Sean did not understand why not enough people were this open about giving hugs like this. Perhaps they were just too shy to do something so bold? In any case, Sean loved giving hugs as well as getting them back. After letting go (rather reluctantly, since even he knew that hugs could not last forever, no matter how much he wished that was not the case), Sean smiled. "Ah, that was great! Thanks, Yumi!" Though now was not the time as Sean had training he wanted to get done, he would not say no if Yumi ever felt like doing this again sometime.
Fortunately for him, Sean would not have to wait too long there, as after shooting down the targets, he was greeted with yet another hug, this time from behind. It was a short but sweet one. The boy did not mind going again to see if he could get a perfect run this time. However, Yumi brought up a good point. Doing the same kind of practice over and over lost its effectiveness after a while. It was good to spice things up and have some variety.
Yumi then asked what Sean has been doing to prepare for the festival. "I guess I'm just working on my quirk and combat skills. Just improving on things I'm lacking at the moment. Sparring with some classmates help a bit, too. Whether I beat them or I get beaten by them, I learn more about what I have to work on either way. For now, I just need to focus on improving my close combat abilities and my far-range attacks, since I'm usually best mid-range." Speaking of sparring, Sean wondered if Yumi would be up for that. "So how about you? Focusing on long range and accuracy? Or anything else?"
Sean then got an idea. "If you want to, we can both do a bit of training together. I can help you out with whatever you need, and vice versa. How about it?"

Yumi beamed just as brightly as Sean as, despite the fact he got glomped in a hug from behind, he quickly seemed to reciprocate the hug. Oh wow this was kinda new and heartwarming to actually find someone who was so eager to hug her back right away, giggling as she squeezed into him so cheerfully. Even Yusaku or Darren got a bit weirded out when she approached them with her ever oblivious sense of intimacy with her friends and even just kind strangers, someone who actually reacted well from the get go was an odd but very, VERY pleasant feeling, leaving the Red head clinging for a little bit longer than she probably should, letting out a soft hum with a final squeeze as she finally had to let go.
“Seriously though hun for your first times you did great, and your quirk is really effective despite working with such little water! I’d hate to see what you can do next to a leaky fire hydrant or something.” She stuck out the tip of her tongue with a bright and playful smile, a part of her genuinely eager to see what this boy could do when actually given the proper tools to work with. Yumi herself definitely needed the variety in her training right now. She’d been doing target practice for ages really, and even with the slight randomization built into the set up the teacher had designed for her her arms were starting to get tired from the constant electrical surges. Not only that but she felt pretty assure in her self assumption that her aim had gotten to the point where, on this course at least, it wasn’t going to improve. She had short range targeting down as much as she was gonna, she needed to focus on something else, or at least arrange some long range targets for herself.
Yumi listened up as he explained his own training for the festival, though briefly she realized it may be rude to just assume he was even participating like that, but she felt confident everyone was at least going to try SOMETHING. She focused on the fact he was apparently sparring with his classmates and let out a chuckle. “Let me guess, you signed up for the combat events right?” She had signed up for one herself to see how she faired, but the main event she’d chosen was definitely the obstacle course. With her flight and new dart motion tactic, she was pretty sure that was where she had the most advantage. “I’d definitely be up for sparring if you feel confident enough. I mean, electricity versus water?~ I’d be a little scared of getting a big shock if I were you.”
At the question of her focus, she chuckled a little, amused she was just thinking about that. “Oh definitely short range for now. Still ranged though. I don’t think I’d do well in a melee. I know for the festival at least most of my opponents will wanna get up in my face, and while I can definitely handle long range, my streams of electricity tend to dissipate a bit and become hard to aim, so until I get more refined control, I’m focusing on sort of a gunslinger type of style. Get up close and fire as many shots as possible!” She grinned nice and wide, proudly resting her hands on her hips.
At the offer to help her with her training, she definitely appreciated it, but it’d definitely be best if she focused on her long range aim AFTER the sports festival when she had more time to diversify like that. “Well…I do need to work on my long range but that won’t be so useful for the festival…at least I don’t think so…I’d be more than happy for a general sparring session though if you are up for it?~ We can even grab some lunch first if you need to refuel. I know I at least need to smash open a vending machine or something after this morning” She joked, hoping it was obvious enough without the explanation. She used up so much energy making electricity from her body that it really burned out her fuel.

Sean's already cheerful smile became even more so upon hearing Yumi's words of praise. "Thank you! I'd hate to be the villain that chooses to attack the beach while I'm there!" It was true that the more water Sean had at his disposal, the more he could do with his quirk. Sadly, he would not always get the choice of where to save lives or fight off villains once he became a pro. For now, Sean had to make do with what water he could use. He also needed to train for the possibility of a situation where he would have no water to work with at all. It was a good thing then, that as a student, Sean still had plenty of time to train, improve himself, and patch up as many weaknesses of his as he could.
When Yumi asked Sean if he signed up for one of the combat events, the boy grinned with excitement. "Yup! I thought of taking part in the tournament, but in the end, I decided on joining the obstacle course instead. I figured it would be a better test of skill for me. Plus, it sounds fun, so why not?" Sean was curious as to what kind of obstacles and surprises were in store for him. He supposed that he would have to just wait and see.
Hearing Yumi say that she was up for some sparring got Sean excited. "Oh yeah! Bring it on!" Of course, Yumi had also brought up a good point. Being a water manipulator, Sean was not exactly fond of electricity, with it being one of his major weaknesses. Still, the more he got used to electricity now, the better off he would be later when facing off against villains who also used electricity. "Scared? Nah! If anything, that makes me want to spar with you even more. I mean, villains are gonna have all kinds of quirks, with some probably having ones we're weak to. So it makes sense to get some practice now so that we're ready to take them on in the future when we're pros."
Sean listened as Yumi explained how she was focusing on a gunslinger style, with short range being her main focus, and long range being something to work on. "That's pretty cool! It's almost the same case with me. My short and mid range is what I'm good at. Long range could still use some work. My attacks are not that fast, so hitting something from afar is hard unless it's stationary. I used to suck at melee, but some karate lessons help with that."
Upon hearing the word lunch, Sean laughed nervously as his stomach chose to growl loudly at that moment. "Sure, lunch sounds good right about now! Anything you're in the mood for? I'll pay for us." Sean looked forward to sparring with Yumi. Not only did it sound like a fun time, but the training would prove to be invaluable. But first, it was time to get something to eat!

Yumi couldn’t help but chuckle at his choice of words, but instantly she got an idea and tapped her chin. “You got any ways to MAKE water though? Like, I watch cartoons and anime a LOT and I know this sounds ridiculous, but in emergencies characters with water powers like yours they er…well they can pull water from things around them! Like the air or even plants and stuff! Kinda er…morbid, when the moon gets involved-“ Vague statement was vague but she wasn’t about to splooge about the last airbender on them right this second. “But it might be something to look into. I mean-“ Already her mind was racing with possibilities as it often did when faced with new and exciting quirks, grinning a little. “I can imagine that they have to let you bring water with you if you were to enter a tournament, but you’re kinda boned if you’re caught without your supplies in a hot place. Maybe best to consider being a naval based hero?” Heck imagine using the ocean as a weapon. It was literally the plot of Moana but with more awesome.
“Aw you’re not taking part?” She all but pouted. When she wasn’t gonna be fighting herself Yumi had been really excited to see how far her classmates had come since joining, and while she didn’t really have a bar set for her expectations out of Sean, it still woulda been awesome to see her new buddy in action. Though she could understand, it was good to focus your training and she quickly chimed in on the obstacle course. “Oh! Me too! It’s gonna be awesome! I figured out how to fly pretty recently so I’m wondering if they’ll set up any tricks to stop me! Gonna be boring for everyone if I just fly over every obstacle in the way huh?~” She held an almost cocky smirk as she folded her arms across her chest.
Yumi raised her brow at the odd excitement from Sean to be going up against his weakness, but at the same time she definitely understood the idea. She didn’t really know what she could consider her weakness yet beyond things that could nullify electricity, like a rubber quirk or the like, but it was certainly something she’d have to tackle in the future, so why not start by tackling it now? Sean definitely had a good head on his shoulders in that regard and she nodded along in mild respect of his, in a sense, bravery to go up against her shocking quirk. “Ya know that’s a great way to look at it! I hope you actually come up with something to make it a fair fight though. I’m not competitive or anything, I just LOOOVE seeing people use their quirks in fascinating and interesting ways!~” She beamed bright as ever, already eager to see what he could pull. “Oh I got midrange covered too-“ She admitted, perhaps close range had been the wrong choice of words. She wasn’t sniper level yet but she could keep people at a distance. She was that sweet spot between melee and a sniper and it was where she felt most comfortable. In the fight without being knocked out of it too easily. “I feel one day though I wanna be able to do like…a railgun sniper shot! That’d be awesome!” She chuckled before dipping her head and admitting. “still suck at melee though.”
Still lunch was the priority for now, and while Yumi would normally offer to pay…she was starving, and her stomache told her to be selfish, she nodded along with a light chuckle and started to head out with him. “Well if you’re paying you get to choose. We going the cafeteria or somewhere more special?”
