Melody had shown up to the main alley in her cheer leading outfit with her pom poms. She had decided to go be energetic and excited and hype people up during the event to make sure everyone's having a good time. She did a few dances for people and took some pictures with people for memories. That positive energy she was spreading was really infectious, even she was having a good time and since she was doing a form of dancing she could at least get her mind off the stuff that's been bringing her down as of late.
She walked over to one of the food stands that had been set up and was wondering what to eat. She found something called Okonomiyaki which at first seemed very healthy to her since it was a bunch of cabbage but then the man absolutely covered it in toppings, there was cheese bacon scallions and two different sauces with an egg as well! He described it to her like a Japanese style of pizza which kind of threw her off for a few seconds but he told her she'd love it. She fell for it despite the fact that he would probably tell that to anyone who tried it because it is his own product but nonetheless melody's infectious happy energy made her not really care or think twice about it. She sat over by some benches and began to eat the food slowly at first before realizing it was AMAZING. So far it was her favorite food since moving to japan..She checked the date on her phone. "It's almost been a year already huh..?" she said remember how much time has already passed, yet such little progress has happened with her quirk. Did she already reach her limit? Her classmates managed to get so far ahead, maybe something was stopping her? She continued to sit on the bench eating her food, giving herself a break to cool off a bit.

Running a around a bit all morning Jisa had been taking in all the special sights, games, and food stands. All excited and almost too excited to allow his bashful or at times shy nature hold him back during such a rush of energy and curiosity at such a time. He'd only often been able to ever eat food from either the cafeteria or dinners usually made up of foods from the select few good vending machines spread around campus. He didn't like to bother people over it and didn't have anyone to turn to for money so he had to simply make do with what he had at his disposal on campus given that's just how his life was now.
He had been enthralled with the fried foods, as well as the severe sweets that only the sweetest of tooths would have been able to stand. He'd wanted to enjoy this as it seemed a great opportunity to get out of the slump he'd felt stuck in the last few days if not weeks as well. He couldn't allow the past no matter how much it hurt keep him down for good... He didn't want that.... She wouldn't have wanted that.
He'd been walking with one arm holding onto a paper like bowl with fried BBQ in it placed on skewers. Pulling them out one at a time and eating them with all the gusto of a small child devouring their favorite meals. His face having a few spots where his fur was lightly mattered in sparse areas from the sauce sticking to his fur. But the fresh delicious food was almost overwhelming when most his dinners had been vending machine foods for the last little while so long. He sat on the bench next to the girl demolishing his snacks his eye side glancing and catching her as his fur bristled lightly unable to help feel something was a little off? Almost like a animal sense of things. His large ears perking and turning lightly in her direction directionally as some animals ears often did picking up all sorts of sounds around them.
He'd hold out the bowl with skewers offering her one as he spoke with a sweet voice the small fluffy boy grinning a rather large innocent grin. "This is pretty cool isn't it? The whole festival idea for us? Would you like one of these they are really good! Its been so nice to be able to get some super good food for a change!" Trying to appear cheerful. "I'm Jisa, Are you here alone today or just waiting for your friends? What class are you in my cute friend. Might I ask your name?" Going nearly a mile a minute trying to appear kind and attempt to be friendly to make sure she too was having a grand day as he was.

Melody had taken a break from eating the Okonomiyaki when she turned over and saw a familiar looking...animal..boy thing. She paused for a moment, she had never seen such a strange quirk before, she wasn't judging him but she was rather interested. It seemed like he was offering her a piece of his food. "Aww, you're so sweet. Thank you." she said gladly taking him up on his offer as melody's mother rolled in her grave because she told her to not accept food from strangers or from those of the lower class. She cut a piece of her food with the chopstick and offered a piece to the boy in return. "Here, do you want to try some of mine? Well wait i should have asked if you have any dietary restrictions.." she said worried if she just offered him a poison.
He continued on to introduce himself, well melody kinda already recognized him as the boy, well, the only boy on the cheer leading team. She felt a bit more at ease with Jisa, his cute appearance and also the fact he was a boy calmed her nerves a bit since she was awful at talking to girls her own age. Guy's were much simpler. "I remember you from the cheer leader meeting, Jisa....Jisa Keiko I think it was right?" she said with a slight smile in her face. "It's ok if you dont remember me, i kinda stayed quiet and to myself. Im melody, Melody miro. I'm in 1-C and nah im alone today." as per usual
"I figured since we're having a festival today people I'd go around and get some people excited to have some fun and show school spirit." she said as she closed the small plastic container and put it in her bag to throw away properly later. "What about you?" she asked curiously since it seemed like he was all by himself too.

He could only chuckle at her sweet behavior, finding it amusing at her worry over his reaction to the food. He accepted it smirking with a large grin as he chewed it up gleefully with lightly puffed cheeks from joy over the flavor. "Oh don't worry about me, I can eat most anything. I don't think I have any allergies or anything like that, At lest none that I actually know of." Giving her a reassuring thumbs up and a light giggle to himself over the little idea of it all.
He would chew and gnaw at his food slowly as they talked though. He wasn't used to food like this given for him when the cafeteria was closed that mainly meant vending machine food was his only fall back. So while the festival was going on there was so much good food he'd hardly been able to help himself from burning through what little savings he had. "Ah yea I remember you, Its nice to see you again Melody. Why wouldn't I remember you!?! You're so cute in your uniform! I wish I could have had a full cheer uniform but if I get overly insulated I get overheated too easily!" He'd say trying to have a conversation but not banter to much. There were times he tended to jump from point to point if he got nervous now and again.
He seemed to think about what she said for a moment to busy to dig to deep in his own mind as the BBQ was just to good to overthinking things in the brief moments he was indulging himself. "Oh I'm usually always alone on things like this. Surprised your not with the others though... You seem like the kind who'd have friends for days to hang out with." He'd say smiling at her with a warm expression. His ears flopped lightly to one side. They'd constantly be tilting and readjusting each time she spoke or he'd move his head.

Melody looked at Jisa even more thoroughly than before, so he had the anatomy of a bunny..but could still eat like a human? Well he is a human...she questioned the thought, what was he technically? Should animal human quirk hybrids be considered it's own race? Would they even want to be considered their own race? A million question's danced around the girl's mind but she snapped back to the conversation at hand when Jisa began to speak of how he remembered her. "Oh really? That's a shame you would look nice in it too!" she said trying to make some friendly conversation
However her heart sank at Jisa's next comment 'you look like the type of person who would have friends for days', her heart felt like it was just stabbed by a million sewing needles, it was true that she wasn't a person who was hard to get along with thanks to her reserved nature but the problem lied within her inability to properly speak to others, especially since she just over all lacked experience with people. She was somewhat better since her arrival at U.A despite threatening people numerous times because of a drug attack or a peeping tom spying on her at the pool, but a marked improvement is still an improvement.
She thought about what to say next, being careful to choose her words because she didnt want to sound rude to Jisa. "You're wrong" she let out a small hah to make a small pause. "But in reality I really am just shy unless im performing. Thank you though, that was a nice thing to say" she said with an authentic smile "And what about you? I imagine you have a lot of friends who are girls because of your cute appearance." she asked innocently.

He chewed at his food slowly listening to her smiling with perked ears the whole time. He always enjoyed times he got to be friendly or make more friends. The school had slowly but surely been making his life that much better and helping ease the pain of all the pains before he was able to reach this heroic halls. His face was stuffed as he quickly finished off his BBQ with extreme gusto. His mouth having a few clumps of hot sauce and BBQ sauce at the corners of mouth with a bit of his fur a little sticky in very small spots because of it.
But as she spoke about her problems being shy and making friends before she'd even get to the part about him probably having allot of friends. His ears would have flopped down to the side of his eye and his large yellowish brown eyes would begin to not only slowly water but within moments seem to poor out tears at the idea of her not having many friends or being lonely. He'd wiggle on the bench pulling his legs up on it and wiggling over to her sitting on his knees looking adorably sad with watery eyes as the fur around his eyes slowly became wet from the pure years spilling forth. He just couldn't help how sad she looked in this moment.
"N-no! You're amazing, and pretty, and super nice, and super talented at the cheer dances. A-a-a-a-and." Struggling to continuously look for ways to praise her to try and cheer her up as her appearing so sad or upset was like a shock through his poor little pounding bunny heart. "We're friends okay! I'm really shy too and I have allot of trouble making friends but this school makes that allot better! Trust me I think everyone probably really likes you! At least I really do!" Trying to appear as a friend and make sure she had no doubt he saw her as one. He pulled his hands upward to his chest in a moment of sour sadness his little nos wiggling as well as his tail like a lightly upset bunny would. His ears flopping and wiggling lightly hanging down at the side of his head like they often did when he was upset or saddened.

Melody was taken aback by jisa's eagerness and readyness to begin bombarding her with compliments. She really hadnt thought much about herself before but apparently someone else took notice of her talents. She began to really enjoy Jisa's company, there was something different about him. His eagerness to cheer up someone and his innocent opinion of her reminded her like that of a child, not that he was a child or anything derogatory like that but it was rare to see someone have that level of innocence at their age anymore. Oh god wait he was too innocent, OH GOD HE'S ABOUT TO CRY. Melody freaked for a few seconds and did that panic no it's ok thing parents do for their children. "Y-yEAH You're right! You're absolutely right! Im being a debby downer!" she said trying to make Jisa not become upset, it'd shatter her heart if he did.
"We're good friends and I wont be lonely with you around!" she said with the biggest smile she could muster, in fact she tried smiling so hard it looked a little awkward to anyone else watching. "Ok? so dont be sad!!" She then tried to move the subject onto something else to make Jisa forget about what she had said, she looked around and really couldnt think of anything...Oh wait there are some stall games nearby...maybe jisa would like to play a game? "Hey look over there! they have carnival games!" she said standing up and throwing away the garbage the two made from eating their food. "Do you want to play jisa?" she said asking curiously, allowing him to pick the game the two would play

He sniffled wiping his nose on the back of his arm lightly as his fur around his snoot and eyes seemed lightly wet and matted from tears and just the light beginning of crying. His little chin and lip quivered lightly as she seemed to come around though. Not realizing how his reaction may have effected her. The idea of it lost to him as he just started to brighten at what she said. Small hands held to his chest as a large bright smile grew on his lips like a rising sunrise of glee and joy.
"You really are Melody Chan! You're amazing! I want us to be good friends and... and... I know I'm kinda weird cause of my... well me. But I think we should be friends! I'm trying not to be shy since I came to this school and I know what its like not to have many people but this school has really changed allot of that for me! An.. An I feel if you let it it'll help you too!" Scooting closer to her as he seemed to walk on his knees closing the gap greeting right up close to her. It seemed he was stuck between a state of cheer and tears. He leaped to his feet standing on the bench 'almost' to her height as she spoke of games and began to cheer up.
"YES! Games always help Melody! Lets go win a toy from those stands!" Pulling out a small coin purse with some yen jingling inside. "I'll have you know I can throw a mean ring in ring toss!"

Good, ok he calmed down now. Melody let out a sigh of relief when Jisa managed to calm down, he was a bit immature for his age...Wait how old is Jisa actually? She couldn't really figure it out since he was well...the closest thing to a bunny she had ever seen without technically being a bunny. She wondered if Jisa would let her carry him...she decided against this out of fear of him reacting negatively about it. "Of course we can be good friends Jisa I'd enjoy that!" she said smiling at him, she felt a small pain in her heart. she heard those words before but they seemed to always feel rather empty especially as of late. Melody couldn't understand why her emotions were so out of control lately, she felt herself slipping more and more. Was it finally getting to her? "Maybe you're right, I think I've learned some stuff while here." she said as they moved on to go and play with the ring toss
She walked over to the ring toss with him, he fumbled around with his small coin purse, Oh god he was so fucking cute. Melody mentally went awwww watching Jisa. She then pulled out payment for her own turns on the game and threw several rings, none of them landed on any of the bottles really. In fact melody had to try again cause she threw one of the rings towards the bottle but it flew out of her hand and almost decked the stand worker in the face. She bowed and apologized a million times, she watched Jisa throw the rings too wondering if he was any good at the game. Oh god she wanted to carry his cute little bunny self..

He smiled heartily trying to hold back his emotions as he tried to cheer her up. Feeling a rush of glee evident in his bright grin as she seemed to agree. Sniffling a little bit though as small remains of his worry worked its way out of his system. He leaped from the bench when they got up to go play a game to relieve the grown worry and replace it with cheer as they'd spoke of. He had to hop though to get off the bench properly. Given his small height most benches, desks, and even the lunch table situations made it where he either had to hop on and off such chairs and usually had his legs dangling off the ends lightly as if he was really just some small child. The embarrassment of such things long since for the most part worn away as it was something he had to adjust to rather fast in his teenage life. Another one of those little things that just came along with being a mutant like he was.
At the actual stand though he was able to gather a few coins and paid for a round or two of the game following up Melody's attempts. Trying not to gasp as a small paw covered his mouth as one of the rings nearly took out the stand owner! He wasn't sure if he should have chuckled or felt worried more. But thankfully the man didn't seem to get too... bothered by it. Standing here all day such accidents did probably happen from time to time after all. Jisa tried his hand after but of little luck as well. Each toss he took was over handed as from where he stood he could only partially peek over the edge of the stand's counter. A small nose peeking over the edge and tossing over handed so it would go over the small counter and be able to actually clear the distance. But each time as he tried to aim seemed a bit difficult as he had to stand on tip toes peeking over the edge for each throw. Small clinks made as they often hit the glass to bounce off in random direction. Unable to add much finesse as he couldn't throw properly and aim given his height and the counter being a light obstruction for him because of it.
He did manage to get one around it sadly but alas it wasn't enough for a prize if you only managed to get one. He did seem to briefly tear up from the failure but quickly shook it off not wanting her to notice or think little of him in his failure. "Awww man, This things are always so tough... It looks so easy when other people do it. I wonder how its supposed to be done!" He said curiously to Melody with pouty and puffy cheeks from fluffy disappointment in their loss at this game.

Melody grew angry with the game, UGH did this guy rig his game too? WHY ARE THEY TRYING TO RIP OFF STUDENTS, THAT'S SO RUDE. Melody kept her rage contained as to not alarm Jisa or disturb his emotional state. She wanted to make sure the puffy fluffy boy was still happy or else she'd break her own heart on his sadness. Jisa SERIOUSLY managed to wiggle his way into her heart super fast, maybe it's because he reminded her of one of her old stuffed bunnies she used to tugged around. She remembered one used to be called tovito, the name of an old stuffed animal she carried with her everywhere, EVERYWHERE. She wanted to go check her stuff and see if she actually brought tovito with her because he was one of the few things that managed to survive the fire thankfully.
She watched as Jisa was beginning to throw one of the rings, she tried not to laugh when Jisa almost took out the man's eye. All in all she was having a great time with him, however she noticed Jisa was right. "Well I guess they really are all rigged, i played a game the other day and it felt almost impossible to beat until another kid used his quirk to beat it...albeit he got in trouble for using his quirk like that by one of the teachers." she said casually. For the rest of the time Melody and Jisa spent time bonding and playing games together until they both went their separate ways.
