Date: December 20th
What day was today? Why, payday of course! The best day of the week! Especially when Christmas was right around the corner and Haruuhi had a few last minute buys to d for Christmas... Well okay, more for herself than Christmas... but she wanted to make sure she got herself a little something for her birthday. Maybe some new tech additions for Robodog? She definitely had t get herself a cake! Okay maybe just a sliver of cake... just because she'd come across more money than she could handle, didn't mean she had t go crazy with it...
She was humming lightly to herself as she got into the line at the bank, pulling out her phone quickly to check was was going on in U.A's chat as she waited for it to become her turn to go up to the teller. It was a rather long wait... However, just as it became her turn to walk up to the teller, loud shots were fired off behind her. The girl instinctively ducked, just as everyone else in the building did.
The other patrons of the bank would scream and duck for cover as the 4 criminals stepped up to the registers.
"Everybody get on the ground, heads down! now! If anyone makes a move, we'll roast ya!"
One of the masked men cried out, a flaming hand up above his head. The sound of the shot must have come from him, as he was the only one with an active quirk.
Quickly, 2 of the other goons jumped the counter, knocking aside the various tellers as they began to smash open the machines to retrieve the cash inside. Meanwhile, the goon with the fire hand, and a second who seemed to be unarmed were keeping an eye on the hostages.
'There's no way he's unarmed... At least, he's got to have some kind of quirk... and this fire guy's quirk seems pretty basic. Okay... That should be easy enough... I shouldn't stop the there two from stealing that money, they'll just turn on the tellers and hurt them if I do anything... Hmmmm'
There wasn't much Haruuhi could do alone... if it was a 1 on 1, sure she'd probably be able to take them out... but the girl wasn't particularly strong. She had to use what she WAS good at, and that was using her head... She was silently able to use her quirk to trigger the banks silent alarm first before she got down on the ground just as the criminals instructed. This actually made her laugh a little bit... Here were these 4 brutes totally unaware of her, or what her quirk could do. She didn't even have to beat them up... She could just lead the cops straight to em.
When the silent alarm went off, Haruuhi was able to piggyback off of it's radio signal, not only directing the police to the bank, but actually speaking through it.
<"Hello officers, I'm one of the hostages at the Bank Robbery associated to this alarm. I'm using my quirk to talk to you so they can't hear me. There are 4 quirked criminals in here, looks like one manipulates fire... and another one looks like he turns to stone? He's breaking the machines pretty easily... There are... 7 visible hostages, including myself. Two of the clerks were physically hit, but I d on't see any life threatening injuries.">
Haruuhi reported t the police scanners, giving them as much information about the situation as possible and just keeping her eyes open... acting alone was only going to get more people into trouble...

December 20th AKA the day that James got paid, he also received a cheque from his grandparents as a little early Christmas gift. The bank teller handed him the money and he thanked her. As he turned around to walk off a group of 4 men entered the building, all looking suspicious. His suspicions were confirmed when one of them fired off a blast of fire and commanded everyone to get on the ground. James complied and started thinking of a plan, he felt in his jacket pocket to confirm that he had his Thunderball with him. When he confirmed he had the Thunderball he took a quick glance upwards and surveyed the situation briefly, making sure he wasn't caught looking Ok, I've gotta deal with the guys watching the tellers first, if I make a move on anyone else first, those tellers are as good as dead James thought to himself as he slowly grabbed his lightning shaped eye mask out of his jacket and put it on his face, just a temporary measure if he ever had to take on villains when he wasn't necessarily prepared. He glanced up to make sure no one was looking at him and turned his body around so he was facing the robbers. Unfortunately one of them saw him doing this "HEY, I SAID NOT TO MOVE," the robber said as he moved closer to James. James sighed Alright, guess I'm going now he thought to himself as he reached in his jacket pocket and pulled out his Thunderball, coating it in lightning and throwing it at the robber closest to the tellers taking him by surprise and knocking him down, he then pulled it back, spun around and used the momentum to throw the Thunderball at the robber right in front of him, hitting him square in the face, knocking the thug out as he fell to the ground with a thud. A couple of the hostages closer to the entrance of the bank used the opportunity of James' distraction to quickly flee from the bank. He started swinging the Thunderball in a circle, the other robber who he knocked down first got back up and exited the teller counter, coming straight for James "Alright then, let's dance," he said with a smirk as the thug continued to rush him

A sudden wave rippled through the air as Haruuhi jumped to her feet the instant one of the hostages decided to play hero. This was going to be bad! He as going to get one of the tellers killed! Or so she thought until the boy had the sense to attack the thugs nearby the tellers. She gave a sigh of relief before tossing a radio wave blast towards the crook that had gotten up to retaliate against the other red head. The blast would smack into the quirker hard, tossing him backwards against the backwall and knocking the wind right out of him, dazing him.
Haruuhi then ran up from behind James, jumping back over the counter and harshly smacking a karate chop to the man's neck, promptly knocking him out too. That only left two more criminals... at least a good chunk of the hostages had the sense to run out of the building the first chance they got... it just left the two tellers, and the other two quirkers that were attempting to infiltrate the fault.
<" Two of the quirkers have been rendered unconscious, there are only two remaining attempting to break into the banks vault. Most hostages are out of the bank safe, I'm attempting to get the last 3 out safely. ">
The girl brought a hand to her head as she made a quick update to the police. She then looked over at James for a brief moment, offering up a bit of a shy smile before turning to the two petrified tellers.
"Come on, while there's no one here, you need to get outside. Go go, we'll handle things here until the police arrive."
Haruuhi assured them, helping them up to their feet and ushering them along towards the doors. She only stopped once she was standing next t James.
"Th... that wasn't very smart. You could of... g...gotten them killed. "
Haruuhi said shyly, trying her best to scold the boy. It wasn't going very well mind you as she wasn't behind the safety and confidence of her helmet.
"We s-should go outside and wait for the p-police... We're acting like Vigilantes..."
She said nervously as she began to walk towards the doors.

As James was getting ready to swing his Thunderball at this approaching thug he saw the thug fly and smack into the backwall, then from behind James ran a redheaded girl who ran over and delivered the knock out blow to the thug
"I had him you know," he said as he stopped swinging the Thunderball and looked around to make sure the other thugs weren't approaching them Hopefully they were so distracted with getting that vault open that they didn't hear anything James thought to himself as he walked over to the thugs and pulled their wallets out of their pockets and grabbed whatever change they had from it, shoving it in his own pocket, he looked over and saw the redhead ushering the tellers and the rest of the hostages out of the building, she then came over to stand next to him and tell him wasn't very smart and he could've gotten them killed "Wasn't smart? I formulated a whole plan to make sure that nobody would get hurt, that's why I went after the guy closest to the tellers first, I knew that his buddy would then be too focused on me to hurt the hostages so I knocked him out first, the guy I hit first would've been too angry at me to do anything other than come at me, so actually what I did was very smart," he said to her. She then told them that they should go and wait for the police and that they were acting like vigilantes
"Who said I'm acting," he said with a smirk as he jumped over the counter
"You can go wait outside for the police if you want or, you could come with me and actually do something useful by stopping these guys and foiling their plans, so what'll it be?" he asked as he turned around to look at her awaiting her answer, it would be easier with the 2 of them, but he could handle the other 2 on his own if he absolutely had to |

Haruuhi was too distracted helping the rest of the hostages get out safely to notice James looting the unconscious thugs. Of course she noticed him moving towards them but just figured that he was checking up on them, or tying them up or something. She didn't bring any additional attention to it, even when she went over and told him he hadn't acted very smartly. Haruuhi pouted lightly when he explained he had a plan and hen he went through it, it made sense but Haruuhi still calculated a risk that was to high for her, or any hero to act so rashly. So she just pouted and let a light huff escape her lips.
"I was already in contact with the police the minute those guys let off their warning shot. You should have waited. "
She mumbled, but then paused whenever the boy said he wasn't acting like a vigilante, but actually was a vigilante. He was so young though, how could he be? She didn't recognize him from school either, so what was the deal there?
"I uh... oh. uhm... N... no I'm not going to... let you do it alone..."
She said, thrown off completely by the fact that he was a Vigilante... she just shook her head when he turned around, asking her to help him. How could she say no? This was what being a Hero was all about right? Stopping the bad guy? She just had to make sure she got out of here before the cops showed up and reported her to her teachers...
"F...Fine... hope you have another bright idea..."

When Haruuhi told James she was already in contact with the police when the guy fired off his warning shot James knew they didn't have much time before the cops arrived
"Alright then, we're on a timer then, take out those last 2 thugs and get out before the cops arrive," he said, when Haruuhi told him she wasn't going to let him do it alone he looked at her and smirked "Alright then Little Red, let's do it, just don't go freezing up on me," he told her
"Of course I have another bright idea, it doesn't look like the other 2 thugs realize something's gone wrong, so we'll sneak up on them and take them out before they even know what's hit em," he said confidently as he quietly made his way towards the other thugs, assuming Haruuhi was following behind him. Once he turned a corner and saw the thugs he quickly jumped back behind the wall and held Haruuhi back with his arm, motioning for her to be quiet, he peeked around the corner and took a quick look at where they were positioned, he turned back to face Haruuhi "Ok, one of them is working on the vault with his back to us while the other one is looking in our general direction, so he'll notice us straight away," he whispered to her, thinking of a plan
"Alright, we're gonna rush em, I want you to do that blasty thing you did to that other guy on the one facing this way, knock him against the vault wall if you can, once you do that I'll rush towards the guy working on the vault, got it?" he asked her while getting into position to rush his target I hope that she can handle this, she seemed a little hesitant earlier he thought to himself as he waited for Haruuhi to do her thing |

"Sorry, I...I didn't think there'd be anyone else around... who could do anything about this I mean."
She mumbled shyly as James quickly summed up their situation. She had this horrible feeling in the pit of her stomach, knowing that she was now acting as a Vigilante and not a U.A student... it would be just as bad for her if the police arrived on the scene and Haruuhi was standing among all of these unconscious thugs... they might even mistake HER for the criminal in a case like that! NO no this wouldn't do at all... if that was the case, then who was going to speak up for her? It wasn't as if G could just walk up to the police station if she got taken in... and her teachers would be furious. No, it was better to not get caught and see this through now that she had actively used her quirk against another person.
"L...Little Red?? M...my name is Haruuhi, by the way..."
She asked with a look of surprise on her face. Her cheeks started to turn red at the sudden nickname, assuming he just said that because she hadn't given him her name yet... She supposed now was as good a time as any seeing as they were going to be fighting alongside one another very, very shortly. Haruuhi took in a deep breath after James explained to her what it was they were going to do and nodded as she followed him silently. She stayed as close to him as possible, leaning back when he extended her arm to keep her from moving and being seen.
Her heart was pounding wildly in her chest, both out of sheer anxiety and excitement. She'd never been the Hero yet, so this was more than just nerve wracking! She would nod once again once James explained the plan to her, biting her lower lip gently as she suddenly pushed off from her location, darting out to face the man facing her way. She had both palms out in front of her looking rather ridiculous since her quirk wasn't visible to the naked eye. However, in that next moment, two powerful blasts of radio waves burst forth from her open palms, smacking the first guy straight in the chest.
The crook took the hit like a champ, his body turning blue and a bit translucent as he suddenly looked like a walking water puddle! That meant he'd been able to absorb most of the blow from her blast didn't it! This wasn't good... Her quirk wouldn't do much against him, and if he was made of water she couldn't even fight him hand to hand! She hoped James acted fast with his crook... she had no idea what his quirk was, but maybe that little ball of his could cause some serious damage.
Meanwhile, the crook breaking into the vault had doubled in size, his body hardening as he looked now more like a golem than a human. He continued wailing away at the vault, even as his companion got blasted.

Haruuhi apologized to him saying she didn't think there was anybody around who could do anything about the situation
"Don't apologize, you were only thinking of making sure these people were safe, we'll do this quickly and nobody will even know what happened," he said with a confident smile. She then introduced herself as Haruuhi
"You know, I don't usually tell people my real name while I'm on duty but, I doubt you'd go turning me in, so I guess I can tell you my first name at least," he said to her "I'm James, although if we've gotta communicate while we're fighting these guys call me Haywire, and I'll just keep calling you Little Red, or maybe just Red," he introduced himself, officially branding her with her nickname.
After James explained his plan, Haruuhi nodded and then did her thing, or at least she tried to, before the guys quirk seemed to absorb most of the blow, he then saw the guy working on the vault door doubled in size and took on a golem like appearance, he rushed out from behind the wall quickly turning to shout out at Haruuhi
"Keep hammering away at the puddle guy, I'll handle the grumpy grey giant," he shouted out to her as he grabbed the Thunderball out of his jacket and coated it with his Black Lightning and threw it at the golem guy, although it didn't seem to do too much damage, it did however force him to turn and face James, who swung the Thunderball around, black lighting swirling and crackling around it as it cut through the air around him
"Come on big guy, take a break from that door and play with me a bit," he taunted the guy with a smirk as he charged at the thug, sliding under one of his swinging fists If I let one of those connect, it's goodnight for real he thought to himself as he swung the Thunderball through one of the thugs legs and grabbed it from the other side, pulling on it to trip the thug over. He then jumped on his back and wrapped the Thunderball's cord around his neck and pulled it tight while still coating it in his Black Lightning. Soon the thug stopped struggling and returned back to his normal form, James then cut off his quirk and removed the Thunderball from around the thugs neck, reaching his hand down to his neck to check his pulse, he felt a steady pulse and knew he was still alive He might need to be treated for some minor frostbite from the black lightning though he thought to himself before looking up and seeing if Haruuhi needed any help

Haruuhi's face just remained nearly as red as her hair as James spoke, introducing himself both by his real name and his Vigilante name. She honestly just expected him to give her his Vigilante name considering he already admitted to being one. It was... nice in a way to know his real name, made him a little bit more real, more personable… not that he wasn’t in the first place! If she had to be stuck in a bank robbery with anyone, she was glad that it was with James.
However, when Haruuhi jumped out and attacked the man with the water Quirk it did next to nothing but push him back. She would launch blast after blast towards him in an attempt to do something, but it all just got absorbed by that water body of his. It was really doing nothing. Comparatively, the man’s arm elongated into a long water whip, using it to attack Haruuhi from a distance as well. Haruuhi however, was at least nimble… ish. It wasn’t very big in here, so it was tough to get out of the way of the whip.
She was hit a couple of times, and only chanced a glance towards James as he tried taking on his own opponent with… wait… James had a lightning Quirk? It looked different though, it was black and she couldn’t feel that familiar heat… but none the less it caused Haruuhi to pause, and that was all her opponent needed to her a solid strike on her. It sent Haruuhi smacking into the wall, leaving behind a cut on her cheek from the impact of the whip. She gave a loud cry as she stumbled and fell, frowning now as she looked up to her opponent. She shouldn’t have gotten distracted….
‘There has to be something I can do… How do radio waves affect water… how… how… OH! I GOT IT’
A bit of a crooked smile would appear on Haruuhi’s face as she placed both of her hands on the ground. She transmitted her radiowaves through the floor and manipulated then to concentrate AROUND the man. She would concentrate them more and more, and soon would activate them all at once. The reaction seemed so small to anyone looking at what she was doing, as tiny little pulses of energy would leap out of the wall towards the man who just laughed and fired off another stream of water towards her. Haruuhi sucked in a deep breath and tilted her head as she tried to endure the blast of water as she continued what she was doing.
While the man might not feel it right away, Haruuhi had essentially created a microwave around the man, and the longer he stood there blasting water at Haruuhi, the smaller and smaller that man would become as the water began to evaporate. Eventually, the water stream assaulting Haruuhi stopped, and as the girl coughed and gasped for air, she would look over towards James.
“Haywire!”
She called out to him, hoping he would get the message to knock him out so she could stop microwaving him.

As James was dealing with his opponent he saw Haruuhi was looking at him instead of focusing on her opponent, he then saw a water whip go barreling towards her
"Red, watch out!" he tried to call out, but it was too late and she smacked against the wall Shit, I should finish this guy quick so I can help her he thought to himself as he fought his opponent. Once he was finished with his golem opponent and he saw Haruuhi putting her hands on the ground, just taking hit after hit What is she doing, fight back! he thought to himself, but then he noticed that the water guy was getting smaller and eventually the water blasts had stopped, Haruuhi then called out to him Guess this is my cue to jump in he thought to himself as he ran up to the water guy and swung the Thunderball as he ran, flinging it out to hit the thug in the head and James watched as he crumpled to the ground. He walked over to check the thug was still breathing Yeah, he's fine James thought to himself as he felt the mans pulse then went over to Haruuhi, noticing she had some injuries
"You alright?" he asked as he knelt down to get a better look at her cuts "Just a few cuts and scrapes by the looks of things, you should be fine, although you might be sore in the morning" he said with a smile before hearing cops coming through the door at the front of the bank "Shit, come on, we gotta get out of here," he said as he grabbed Haruuhi by the hand and pulled her along with him, trying to find a back exit. He finally found a back exit that lead into an alley, he pulled Haruuhi along until they reached a strip of shops and removed his mask
"Well, that went...well, are you ok?" he asked as he turned around to face Haruuhi, revealing his face to her for the first time |

Haruuhi was panting heavily after the heavy lashing she got from the water guy, breathing a sigh of relief when James finally came over and knocked the guy out for her. Finally... she really didn't think she could beat him on her own, and her quirk was so mismatched to his... she really wished she had spoken up and told James to switch with her... but it was to late by then.
She pushed herself back up to her feet, wincing as she brought her hand up to her cheek where there was a very thin cut with some light bruising around it already. She huffed at that but then squeaked when James quite suddenly grabbed her hand, telling her they had to get out of here, and then running wildly until they found a back exit. She would run along with him more out of instinct than a desire to get away from the cops... but when they finally found their way into a strip of shops where they would stop running, Haruuhi would slow down to a walk, now panting even more heavily than before. She might know martial arts, but she was in no way a very fit girl...
"That's exhausting... I'm o...o...okay..."
Haruuhi's face started going red once again when James took off his mask, looking back at her and asking her if she was okay. While the mask didn't hide much, it obviously hid enough. Haruuhi caught herself staring at him rather blankly, her cheeks just growing more and more hot with every passing second.
At least she would be getting hot, if her wet clothing wasn't already sticking to her skin and freezing due to the cold. It snapped her out of her stare as she wrapped her arms around herself, shivering already as she shyly looked away from him and down at the ground in front of her.
"W... we need t... to find... somewhere warm... I need... to change... it'll... b...be suspicious if I'm... all wet."
She mumbled under her breath, standing firmly in place as if moving would just make the sudden cold worse.

When he turned around to talk to Haruuhi he saw that she was panting and seemed a little exhausted
"Sorry, do you need a minute to rest? I just needed to get us away from the cops or we'd both be in serious trouble," he said to her keeping his voice low. He then noticed she was staring at him and her face was starting to grow red
"Like what you see?" he asked, teasing her playfully and winking at her, it was only then noticed how soaked she was, she then mentioned that she needed to find somewhere warm and she needs to change
"My place isn't too far from here, you can take a shower to warm up and we'll put your clothes in the dryer, plus I live alone so you don't have to worry about getting caught by anyone," he told her as he started leading her back to his apartment. Once they got back he opened it up and led Haruuhi inside
"The bathrooms right over there, leave your clothes outside the door and I'll put them in the dryer and I'll bring you a towel and you can borrow some clothes while you wait for yours to dry," he said as he pointed to the bathroom and went off to get a towel and some spare clothes she could borrow, he grabbed a pair of tracksuit pants and a T-shirt and left them outside the shower door
"Let me know if you need anything else," he called out to her as he turned on the TV and went to make both him and Haruuhi some hot chocolate to warm themselves up |

Haruuhi had to stop for that moment to take a breather, and James immediately took note of that. He did stop, but then immediately took notw of her blush as well, teasing her and asking her if she liked what she saw. That only just made her blush brighter and turn her head away from him.
“N...no… that’s not it… it’s just cold… I mean… no not that I don’t but… no … hmmmm….”
She would say, completely flustered by his words. She fidgeted in the cold, rubbing her arms in an attempt to keep warm. Thankfully James didn’t waste any time in suggesting they go to his place to have her warm up. She should have protested, suggest finding something different… but she knew the consequences to dragging this out. They were either going to get caught by the police, of she was going to get hypothermia.
“S...sure”
She agreed shyly as she grabbed a hold of his sleeve as he led her towards his place. She admitted that moving made the cold a little bit more tolerable, but it wasn’t long until Haruuhi would start to sniffle and sneeze as they went.
When they finally got to James’ apartment, it suddenly dawned on her what he had said before ‘don’t worry about getting caught’. Should she be worried about getting caught? She was absolutely freezing, why would it be bad if she was caught at this guys apart… oh. Yeah, her dad would have a right fit if he found out… so this was going to end up being their little secret for a little while…
She stepped inside and removed her wet shoes, leaving them by the vent so that they could dry as well, then headed towards where James indicated the bathroom was.
“Thank you James, I think you’re the nicest stranger I’ve *ACHOO* ever met…”
She sniffled again, blushing as she covered her mouth to not sneeze all over the place. She stepped into the washroom and shut the door behind her. She was about to lock it when she remembered what James said about drying off her clothes… that meant he had to come in here while she showered, ultimately putting her in quite the vulnerable position.
‘I have too though unless I want to get sick… damn it… this whole thing is super uncomfortable…’
She thought to herself, her heart racing with anxiety as she locked the door just long enough for her to undress and fold her wet clothes, leaving it on the countertop before unlocking the door and stepping into the shower itself. She tried to find a corner of the shower where she wouldn’t be seen… or her silhouette anyways but it was next to impossible… so nothing to do then but shower.
She turned on the hot water, hissing lightly as it beat against her frozen skin, turning it down until it was at a comfortable temperature, and in that moment it was like she forgot all about the fact that she was in some strange boys apartment. She let her body warm up both due to the heat of the water and the steam, a content sigh escaping her lips...

Once he placed the clothes down and heard the shower running James waited a minute or so before going and knocking on the washroom door
"I'm gonna come in and get your wet clothes, I won't look towards the door, don't worry," he said, entering the washroom and picking up her clothes, closing the door and making his way to the laundry and putting her clothes in the dryer. Once those were in he went and finished making the hot chocolate, adding a couple of marshmallows and taking his down to the couch to drink while he watched TV. When he saw there was nothing good on he instead decided to play video games, turning on a speaker and playing music from his favorite band while he played and waited for Haruuhi to get out of the shower [i]You know, it's just occurred to me how weird this is, I intervened in a bank heist with a random girl that I never met, then brought said girl back to my apartment for a shower and now I'm just casually playing games while waiting for her to get out[/i][/font] he thought to himself as he started to play his game and listened out for Haruuhi in case she needed anything

Haruuhi rested her forehead against the wall for a minute after James stepped back outside of the bathroom with her clothes. She let the heat wash over her while t he cool of the linoleum felt good to her skin. Her bruises began to sting, just reminding her of what happened at the bank. She brought her hand up to her chest, covering her heart and closing her eyes as she tried to calm herself down. That was a hell of a lot of excitement for one afternoon that was meant to be just about depositing her paycheck.
Was this the kind of feeling G got all the time when he patrolled the streets? When he got into fights and stuff? That rush that coursed through her body, while not as high now, wasn’t one that she particularly enjoyed… she thought she would actually like the feeling of helping others like that but… she didnt? It hurt her chest and only made her anxious.
‘I should really talk to him about this but… I don’t want him to worry about it…’
She thought to herself lowly, letting a sigh escape her lips before she turned off the shower. Carefully she would peer around the corner of the door as she opened it, then stepped out when the coast was clear. She grabbed the towel and wrapped it around herself as she moved back towards the door, locking it promptly before she began to towel herself off.
‘What if James hadn’t been there? I wouldn’t have gotten in that fight and the cops would have had time to get there but… what about the hostages then? They could have been in even more danger if those crooks decided to start targeting them in the end. Crap, maybe it was the best course of action after-all’
She thought to herself as she dryed off her hair, leaving the towel hanging over her head as she then god changed into the clothes that James had offered up to her. They were warm, and very comfortable which made her smile gently. How was she letting her guard down so much around this guy? So many past traumas told her that this was wrong, that she should sneak out at the first chance she got… but more recent experiences, G, Miku, Akio… they all told her that it was okay.
Once she was done, she put the towel in the hamper, slipping the slippers on before stepping out of the washroom and heading towards the sound of the music. She would find James perched on the sofa with what smelled like hot cocoa, playing a video game and listening to his tunes. She looked at him curiously, wondering how it was that he was so unphased by the bank robbery.
“H...hey. Thank you for the clothes, and the shower.. And pretty much everything else.”
She said awkwardly rubbing the back of her neck, unsure of what she should do while she waited for her clothes.
