Big Brother [Kasumi]

    Kasumi liked going to school, it was one of the few things she liked do to besides color and play with her doll. She enjoyed learning new things about the world, gauging her tiny mind to think about new topics presented to her. While she was still wary of others, she could enjoy learning with the other kids in the classroom. Their Teacher, Ms. Nana, told them to line up for a special surprise. Kasumi never liked to be first so she always chose to go to the back of the line, she didn't want the other kids yelling at her for being in the way. Plus, being in the back meant she only had to hold onto one person's hand instead of two. Thankfully there was another mutant child just ahead of her whom she was somewhat alright with, better than the human children. She looked at the other mutant girl and slowly took her hand, making up the back of the children chain train as they made their way out of the classroom and off through the school. Ms. Nana began singing a song as they walked, prompting the other kids to sing along. Kasumi didn't want to be heard so she softly sang to herself, hoping no one would hear her. 

    Soon enough, the children made it to the table room, seeing a bunch of new faces of people quite bigger than she and the rest of the kids standing off to the side. Ms. Nana placed each of the kids at a table and soon began matching the big people to the kids. Kasumi looked around the room, her find fluttering slightly as she watched Ms. Nana place a big person with one of the kids. Kasumi's eyes grew a little wide looking at some of the big people, finding them quite interesting. It seemed they came in all different shapes and sizes as well, some human while some were mutants. She secretly hoped she would get a mutant as a partner but it didn't seem that was the case. Kasumi turned her head around, her pink hair swishing as she turned her head, hearing her name being called. Would she get a partner next? She watched as a really tall man with red hair came over to him. He was practically a giant! Kasumi couldn't help but stare with semi-wide eyes as he came closer and crouched down to be as similar in height as she was. She was still a little wary of him when he started speaking, not fond of strangers she didn't know. Kasumi looked down into her lap for a moment, getting a bit nervous in the giant's presence. All she could muster to say, in a soft voice was a simple, "h-hello" before slowly looking up at him, her fins wiggling a bit once more.

    Kasumi listened to Ms. Nana say that they wouldn't be learning any more today which made the pinkette a bit sad. She really liked to learn but the learning would have to continue tomorrow. Her blue eyes turned towards Akio who sat down in the chair beside her so he didn't have to crouch down. Even sitting down he was taller than her. He did look a little silly sitting in a little chair meant for a kid but she didn't laugh at it. Akio then said they could talk to get to know one another...talking didn't sound too bad. Talking helped you learn more things, even though it was scary to do. The axolotl girl softly nodded and looked back down at her lap, her hands rested against it.

    The older boy then asked her what she liked to do for fun. Kasumi liked to have fun, but in her own way and by herself. "...I like coloring..." she said, her voice quiet but not as quiet as it was before, "...and dolls." She told him two of her most favorite things to do, she was still learning how to read and write but that would come with time. Her mentality was a little younger than that of her age, because of the trauma she experienced. She listened as the giant explained what he liked to do to have fun. She was unaware of what most of the things were but she did know what cooking was. She was too young to know how too cook, although she had seen it on tv a few times before. Her eyes shot up to Akio's face, hearing he had a quirk as well. He was not like her in the sense he looked different than everyone else, he must be one of those normal people with a power. She didn't know what emitter was but she thought it must be what things unlike hers were called. Ah, she knew what hot and cold meant, could he really do something amazing like that? Kasumi softly nodded in response to his question, her little fins wiggling slightly as she stared at him with her big blue eyes.

Kasumi enjoyed coloring. She liked coloring premade pictures as well as drawing her own. With a little more practice, she was bound to be a true artist! Hearing that someone else like coloring made the pinkette softly smile, but only for a second. The giant then mentioned his quirk to which the other responded with a nod signifying she thought it was cool. He then went on to tell her that there was a school much like her own that lots of different people with different powers went to. Were there people like her that went to that school? They all went to the big kid school to be...heroes? What was that? Her teachers never taught them that word yet. Was it a good word? Was it bad? "He...roes.." the blue eyed mutant girl spoke softly, repeating what Akio had said only a moment prior. 

When asked if she knew what the word meant Kasumi looked up at the crimson haired boy and shook her head, her fins wiggling a bit. Save? They help people? That was what a hero was? Like the people that saved her from...that time? Kasumi was glad that those nice people were there to help her. She didn't know her auntie would do those bad things to her...she didn't want to disobey as auntie said that she would take care of her and everything would be alright. Kasumi didn't want to think back to that memory. Thankfully, Akio suggested they color, helping distract Kasumi from her thoughts. Kasumi looked up at the giant and nodded, getting up and going over to one of the bins to get some paper and crayons to color with. She climbed back up onto the chair and dumped the crayons out, figuring out what she wanted to draw. Kasumi grabbed a pink crayon and began drawing herself when Akio asked what her favorite subject in school was. "...art class is fun," Kasumi said, pausing her coloring to answer before going back to the task at hand. Any opportunity she had to color and draw the pinkette took.

    The mutant girl listened as Akio talked about heroes some more, even telling her if she needed anything to let him know and he would help. She looked up at him and blinked before nodded in response to his question. She went back to her drawing, getting the blue crayon and drawing her eyes next. Maybe she would draw herself in a blue dress today. As she explained what her favorite class was, Akio praised her for her good drawings. Kasumi couldn't help but look up at him, did he...did he praise her for doing a good job? "...thank you," she softly said before turning back to coloring once more, working on her mini me's dress. She looked over for a moment to see Akio was trying to draw something as well, maybe he was also drawing himself. Did he get inspiration from her? After a while of coloring, Kasumi finished, placing the crayon back on the table and looking at her drawing. Sure it wasn't anything super fancy, but Kasumi believed it to be a true masterpiece! When Akio asked about his picture, Kasumi turned her head and looked at Akio's picture, his attempt at drawing himself. Kasumi thought for a moment before looking up at Akio, grabbing the red crayon and handing it to him. "...needs more red," she said, giving him advice to fix his own picture.

    Kasumi shifted through the other crayons and handed Akio the ones she felt he needed to make the picture look better. t was a good attempt, but it would never be as good as her own piece! She was the Countess of Coloring after all! A small smile found its way onto her lips, her fins wagging as she suggested more and more colors to Akio to help him. With helping Akio with his own piece, Kasumi took some colors and added some decorations to her own piece, wanting to outshine even the giant. As she was coloring, however, Akio asked if she wanted to ask him any questions. The pinkette paused for a moment before turning to look at Akio once more. "...why are you a giant?" she asked, quite curious about his height. He was so tall compared to everyone else in the room, did he eat a magic fruit to make him this tall? Was it part of his power that it made him tall? Kasumi was quite a curious child.

Kasumi couldn't help but smile to herself, hearing Akio call her the master of coloring and drawing. It was nice that he could see her talents. He even praised her drawing again, saying she was making it better and better! Hearing all the praise, Kasumi couldn't help but be a bit happy. Even if she wanted to be alone, it was nice to have the giant here to tell Kasumi her drawings were good. After a few moments of drawing, Kasumi set her crayons down and looked at her now finished masterpiece, seeing her in a field of happy flowers with a happy sun shining down on them all.

Once Kasumi asked her question about Akio's height, she looked over at him and listened to him talk again, saying he didn't know why he was tall either. The mutant girl heard him say that he was tall so he could scare all the bad guys away. Surely with him being almost as tall as the room, he could scare all the nasty people away. Kasumi nodded, a little more eager this time. Maybe he could have scared her away too. Kasumi softly giggled, her fins wiggling as she thought of Akio scaring all the mean people away, thinking he was the bad guy but it truth he was the good guy. Once Kasumi was done with her small giggle fit, she turned up to Akio and asked, "...is it scary being tall?" It must have been so weird being that tall and looking down on everyone. You couldn't have a normal conversation without having to bend down and see other people. "Are...are there other people giants like you?" she asked, wondering if he knew other giants like him as well. She only knew a few people, but most of them were all small like her.

Hearing the praise from Akio made Kasumi smile just a bit brighter, liking the nice words he told her. It wasn't the words of her aunt who wouldn't let her do anything...these ones seemed more...real to Kasumi. Kasumi struggled a bit to write her name at the bottom of the page but did her best before handing the picture to Akio. "...you can have it," she said giving her masterpiece to the giant who was assigned as her partner. Since he seemed to really like it, Kasumi signed it and gave it to him as a present. Akio then showed her his picture, having added some large grey poll with some spiderweb thing attached to it. He did take her word and added more red, which made the picture look nicer. Kasumi looked up at Akio and nodded, silently telling him that it looked better. He could always improve from this, but it still got the Kasumi seal of approval. 

Kasumi had asked if Akio felt scared being tall to which he told her that he could easily beat up the bad guys since he was so tall. She was surprised to hear that there were more giants like him that lived in a strange named place. They hadn't learned what 'AMERICA' was yet, perhaps it was a made up land. She didn't think anyone could be taller than Akio, he was super tall! She heard him mention a hero that was super tall which piqued Kasumi's curiosity, "...are they taller than you?" she asked, a small glimmer in her eyes as her fins moved a bit, wondering if there truly was people tall or even taller than him. Kasumi didn't know what she would do if she was tall, the thought causing the girl to softly chuckle, which she so seldom did since what had happened.
