For the last few weeks, it was an understatement to say that Thundershock was a busy man. Ever since he had been 'captured' and sent to Semper-fi, the job of running the clan fell to the next in line, which would have been his eldest son. However, seeing as Thunder had a current... Girlfriend? She had chosen to try and step up in his place. If it weren't for his son however, this would have been a complete disaster for the clan. Velocity had chased off quite a few of their lawyers, revealed a little too much about herself and her ties to him to Public Service, and as such compromised many relations the clan had all across Japan.
Thundershock worked tirelessly to assert the fact that his dominance over Japan had never waned, even in his absence. Everything had gone 'according to plan'. The black market was now one more under control. Drug dealers once more coming to the clan for their substances. Political ties were once more solidified, a lot of money exchanged hands in various deals over these weeks. He managed to do all of this, all while recovering from a severe bullet wound to his right shoulder no less.
There was one business however that still needed to be dealt with. The HT exchange. Luckily for him, the next meeting would be held right here in Kabukicho's red light district. Thunder did have many a fine specimen t put up for sale, though he knew that he too would need to show that he was still serious in this business. As such, he would need to buy a few specimens for himself, and his tastes usually cost him quite a bit of money.
A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he rubbed his temples in irritation, the tablet in front of him blinking off as the Villain took a moment to himself. That moment however, had been brief. As he opened his eyes, he noticed a piece of paper sitting on his desk that had been there long before he had been sent away. he didn't need to read it's contents to know what it was about, and that... brought a new idea to his mind. There was one more bond he needed to solidify after-all, and now that he no longer bore illusions of being a Hero... well, Thundershock reached for the burner phone in his pocket, the screen humming to life as Thunder went through the few contacts in the phone. With the press of a button, the phone began to ring. It had been quite some time since the man had gotten in contact with the boy.
As soon as the person on the other end picked up, Thundershock would speak before any introductions were made.
"Sounds like you're in need of a bit of help now, aren't you Cross? I've got another proposition for you that will keep you out of the public eye and... entertain you for quite some time. If you're interested."

Nick lay on his bed in Nari’s house. While he was still and silent on the outside, on the inside his mind was a raging cacophony. Thought after thought repeated itself on a near-endless loop, all of them concerned with what exactly he should do in response to the Semper Fi disaster and the military’s open declaration of war against the Quirked.
I need to make a statement. Something big, that as many people will see as possible. The Quirkless cannot get away with what they did!
The chaotic whirlwind in his mind was at last momentarily silenced by the sensation of his phone vibrating within his hoodie. Who the hell could possibly be calling him? His thoughts immediately went to his dear Mother and a deathly cold shiver wracked his body. With great reluctance, he pulled his phone out…
...but the number was not his Mother’s. It was a number he had not expected to see again any time soon. He propelled upright and hesitated only a second before answering. “You again…” His grip on the phone tightened as a scowl darkened his features. “I got attacked by vigilantes because they knew I’d had business with you, you know.”
He very much doubted Thundershock would care about that fact, but it mattered a hell of a lot to him and he would get it out, damn it.
Speaking of Semper Fi, though, Thunder was there…
The crime lord’s breakout during the chaos had been well-televised. Nick could certainly see the opportunity to find out more about what exactly had gone down at the camp, regardless of his personal feelings about Thunder. And he did need more money, particularly if he was going to pull off the plan that was slowly forming in his mind. He did feel an increasing amount of guilt for how much he was scrounging off Nari, not helped by scrounging just being a weak thing to do in general.
He did not have a lot of choice. What did that phrase go - something about gift-horses? He suppressed a growl.
“Alright. I’m listening.”

"Aww, did they? did your play date go to rough? Of course there's vigilante's after you. You haven't really tried hard to keep a low profile have you? You won't have to worry about them once you really start working with me." It was clear that there was no pity in Thundershock's voice as Nick revealed the fact that he had been hunted down by Vigilantes. That was a truth every so called villain had to face, and if you continued trying to go at it solo, your chance of getting caught just increased.
"Look. What I can offer you is a safe place from them, those Vigilantes and so called Hero's. All you have to do is, well quite simply, learn from me. I need someone with your mentality at my side, there are major developments happening in the world and you would be a great asset. I want to talk to you more about it, so meet me on this job. Red light district, Crimson Dragon in an hour. Look sharp, it's a black tie event." He said briefly, hanging up the phone quickly, not giving anyone enough time to trace the call at all. He honestly didn't even give Nick that much time to answer to make sure he cut the connection before they could.
With that done, Thundershock stood up, grabbed his jacked and threw it over his shoulders before stepping out of the underground mansion. He wasn't that far from the red light district, so it wouldn't take him very long to get there. By the time Nick arrived, Thundershock would already be waiting for him inside the building. The two valet's/bodyguards would be instructed to allow him entry on his orders.
When Nick walked in, Nick would find himself in a rather nice yet simple looking establishment. Men in fancy suits, and women in their nicest gowns gathered about, discussing business in hushed tones, each of them wearing masks to partially cover their faces.

Nick hissed at Thunder’s mockery of his unfortunate run-in with the two vigilantes; “I dealt with them just fine. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t a nuisance I could’ve done without!”
The crime lord had been baiting him, he realised all too late, and he had fallen for it. He sulked as he listened to the rest of the other villain’s words. As much as he hated to admit it - and boy, did he ever - Thunder was right: he could not go at this solo. He needed all the connections and back up he could get.
The red light district, was it? He wondered how in God’s name a teenager such as himself was going to get away with just waltzing over to that part of town, even if he did look older than he was. Perhaps one of his disguises was in order.
Or…
He made his way over to a wardrobe on the other side of the room. Upon opening it, he was greeted by the pristine white two-piece suit he had stolen from the department store that night, and below that a shoebox which contained a certain special something he had been working on…
His hand halted halfway towards the box. It dropped.
No. Now isn’t the time for this. I’m not ready yet…
Sighing, he opted instead to put on a simple plain shirt and jeans, plus his blonde wig: essentially his ‘Sam Turner’ disguise from Semper Fi minus the moustache and glasses. With this done he made his way over to the seedier, depraved side of town, doing his best not to make any unwanted eye contact or get too distracted by what exactly was on sale around him.
As he reached the Crimson Dragon club he removed his wig and shoved it haphazardly into one of his pockets. Upon being identified and allowed entry by the valets, he glanced around and suddenly felt rather self-conscious about how plain he looked next to all the other guests.
Well, none of them are on the run from the law. Probably. Maybe.
He spotted Thunder, who was not exactly hard to miss with his bright blonde hair and imposing, muscular build. Nick did his best to appear nonchalant. “I’m here. What do you want from me?”

Thundershock had his arms folded over his chest, clothed in a simple, yet proper purple dress shirt, buttoned up nearly all the way to the top. His black pants where fitted and looked as if they had just been ironed. On top of his outfit, the large man wore a fur lined jacket that rested over his shoulders, more so than worn as an actual jacket. In his hands, the man held onto two masks. One a simple half mask that would completely cover the top of the wearer's face, and the other a more classic 'superhero' style.
Whenever Nick walked in, Thunder would finally open his eyes when he was addressed in a rather short manner. That was the kid alright. He looked over to the boy and raised an eyebrow, sighing audibly when he spotted Nick dressed like... well a teenager.
"Did I not tell you it was a black tie event, stupid brat." the crime loan would grumble as he pushed himself off of the all, walking over to nick and offering him the half mask by shoving it into his hands. He wanted to throw his coat over the boy too, but it was so large compared to him he'd only look even more ridiculous.
"This is what I get..." Thunder grumbled to himself as he walked past nick, leading the way inside without a care in the world. There would be an immediately silence in the room as Thundershock walked by. It was temporary however as whispers soon began to pick back up. It wasn't long until another older man, dressed in a tailored dark grey suit walked up to Thundershock, just as the man placed the mask over his eyes. It obviously wasn't going to fool anyone here, however it was courtesy to the patrons of the evening.
the man that approached him gave a low bow to the crime lord before standing up straight one more, a greedy smirk playing his lips.
"Master Kobayashi! It's an honor and a pleasure to find you here in good health! Your stock has already arrived ahead of you and are being prepared for sale as we speak. Please, if you would make your way down to the event, we will be ready to get started shortly." The man spoke politely, not approaching the man but simply making a gesture with his hands to indicate that Thundershock should head towards what looked like a curtain. Ahead of them, a couple would lift it and disappear behind it.
"Thank you Mr. Tanaka. I do quite enjoy this business, therefore it wouldn't do for me to present you with second rate stock. I expect the rest to be presented just as properly of course. Ah yes, before I forget. This young man is a member of my family, and is to be treated as such. He will be accompanying me this evening. I hope that is not a problem." Thunder stated with a quick, yet devastatingly dangerous glance towards Mr. Tanaka. The sharply dressed man would visibly gulp befre nodding his head, once more bowing, but this time towards Nick.
"It is not a problem at all. Welcome, Young Master Kobayashi. Please, make yourselves comfortable." He insisted, stepping backwards before leaving to greet the rest of his guests. At that moment, Thunder turned back to look at Nick, his eyes as serious as Nick had ever seen them.
"You have to do nothing. You will sit with me, and watch. You will study the other patrons here silently. If you see any stock that looks... interesting, then you tell me. Understood?" He kept things rather vague, though he was sure Nick would pick up on the very illegal nature of what they were about to do. Rare and endangered animals perhaps? Not once had Thunder mentioned the sale of people. And yet, that was exactly what would be happening.
If nick agreed, Thunder would then lead Nick towards the curtain, pushing it aside and walking down the lit staircase. It went down pretty far, but everything was well ventilated and lit that you couldn't really tell how far under you were going. They finally reached a plateau that led to two separate rooms. One to the left, and one to the right. Both 'rooms' were open to a large stage, and you could see within the second room with ease. Above them, you could see rows upon rows of these little viewing rooms, all angled to look down at the stage that was right in front of them.

Nick’s self-consciousness intensified at Thunder’s clear disdain for how he was dressed. He scowled again. “In case you forgot, I’m wanted by the authorities right now. That, and someone my age can’t really be walking around this part of town without drawing attention. I don’t have much choice in how I dress!”
Perhaps Nick was pushing his luck talking back to a Yakuza boss with lightning powers in one of his bases of operations. Well, it would hardly be the stupidest thing he had done as of late. Still, enough common sense remained to tell him not to push his luck further. He took the mask Thunder gave him, hesitating for a second or two before he put it on.
He followed after Thunder without a word. He only raised his head to frown heavily in puzzlement at Thunder referring to him as ‘family’ - he assumed that was crime-speak. He was part of the crime-family now. Wonderful.
He frowned even harder when Tanaka or whatever his name was referred to him as Kobayashi, clearly mixing up the two definitions of family.
“My name is Cross,” he refuted. “I’m not ‘family’ in that sense!”
Nick was a lot of things, but he could pick up on the necessary clues when he needed to. The talk of ‘stock’, combined with the whole setup inside a club with stages - people. It was a sale of people. He had heard of such practices before but never in his life imagined he would bear witness to one.
The things I get myself into…
Should he have felt uncomfortable? He did not know. He must have been at Yuuei too long to wonder such things: Mother had taught him all his life that the strong could do as they pleased with the weak, and anyone who got themselves captured and was unable to escape certainly qualified as 'weak' in Nick's eyes.
Mostly, he felt confusion. “Why do you want me here for this?”
He was unsure what the hell he could contribute. Even so, he followed Thunder through the curtain.

"Instead of whining about it you should have found a damn solution to your problem. Whining is going to get you absolutely nowhere" Thunder had immediately replied to Nick's retort when Thunder nitpicked at his clothing choice. The man would just roll his eyes before leading the two into their encounter, to which Nick once more, spouted something from his mouth that caused the older man to grit his teeth. His eyes looked down at Nick with disdain as they spoke to Tanaka, even if it was for just a moment... Had the lack of his presence really turned the kid into such a useless brat?
There were quite a few negative thoughts going through Thundershock's head as he led the younger boy down the stairs, sitting down next to him just as the their patrons would when they found their seats. That's when Nick asked him once more why Thunder wanted him here for this, and to that Thunder let out an audible sigh.
"I told you exactly what I wanted from you didn't I? I want you to sit here quietly and analyze the others that are here. While everyone was pleasant upstairs, I guarantee you they are the worst people you'd ever come across, and that's including myself. I want to see what kind of information you can gather from just sitting there." Thundershock lied... okay so it wasn't a total lie. The people gathered here really were the scum of the Earth, but to Thundershock, they were just other people like him. He didn't need to know anything about them because he honestly had as much Intel as he could handle on them. Truthfully he wanted to know where Nicks focus lay. Would he try to step it up and earn his keep by doing as Thunder said, or was Thunder going to have to make a few expensive purchases to calm this boy down?
From the reports Thundershock had gotten about Nick, the boy was a wildcard. He acted impulsively with no regard to the consequences of his actions. Someone like that was dangerous, especially when he was running around with his blood in his veins. How was he going to approach that subject anyways... and did he really need to? It wasn't as if Nick was... well he didn't have a dual Quirk like Mirai or Yuri, so it wasn't as if he was going to be groomed to be head of the family. So he could delay that conversation for quite some time, and simply opt to look after him in a sense.
"Right. Other then that, I want you to look at the people they bring out. I want you to pick one for yourself, and one based on usefulness of their Quirk. You need to tell me fast, because they sell fast." Thundershock explained lowly, his eyes scanning the other patrons closely, waiting for the curtain to rise on the stage and for the specimens to walk out.
He did feel there would be some form of trouble though...

There were a lot of people who had differing opinions about the type of trade the Kobayashi family and his wayward son were attending currently. Slavery was, for the lack of a better description a relic of the past, with the values of society established people often ended up believing something like slavery no longer existed, but that was just a foolish and naive dream. Such a dark part of human society would never truly fade, as dark and cruel as it was, there were those who believed that might make right, and as such, they would showcase their might and influence by dominating those weaker than them. Indeed, the unfortunate souls known as slaves had come from various walks of lives, yet most of them were all united under a single detail: For one reason or another, they had lost their freedom, their identity, the very thing that made them human. Indeed, to those in the room the people who were about to be put on auction were no longer human but simple 'goods'. It didn't matter who they had once been, they were now a mere slave to the whims and desires of the audience. Although Thunder Shock had brought Nick Cross here for a reason, it seemed he was not the only one interested in the matters that would unfold in this room. The young villain had been given his instructions: see if any of the slaves proved to be of his interest, and observe the other patrons of the auction. Thunder Shock's experiences led the man to be aware that the people in this room came from all sorts of walks, some were corrupt politicians seeking a new toy, some might be there for more nefarious purposes but they all shared something to Thunder Shock: they were all, in varying degrees: dangerous. One essential skill that one might learn when dealing with the underworld, is the knowledge, the awareness of those you're dealing with. Even as everyone was masked it was easy to get a general impression of the status people had in this underworld society. There was a reason why Thunder Shock and Nick had so much space, hushed whispers at the sheer presence radiated by his 'father', whether he wanted to acknowledge the blood in him or not. There was some sort of unspoken respect, none would approach the Kobayashi lord, lest they earn his ire. Meanwhile upstairs a most peculiar event was unfolding. Tanaka, the owner of the establishment had been informed of an unexpected arrival, rushing upstairs to find out who it was, yet the person before him was enough to make him go pale. First, he had to deal with the head of the Kobayashi family, and now this? He really had been struck with misfortune today. "M-Mistress-" The man started, his body trembling lightly as he gulped lightly, trying his utmost to smile. "Y-You didn't inform us that you returned to Japan already." The person before him smiled, a gentle smile as if she was sounding sympathetic. "Unfortunately I had to shorten my trip to France. I heard some interesting developments happened within Japan during my absence and felt the need to see for myself what all this excitement is about."The man nodded her head sheepishly, rubbing his hands together. "Of course, of course, a lot has happened although are you here for a specific purchase or-" Before he could finish a long slender finger was raised, enough to hush him and the entire room, eyes focused on the person in question as she answered him. "I heard there was a rather... interesting social gathering unfolding, I assume it is not an issue for me to attend also?"Tanaka knew that tone all too well, it reminded him of the Master of the Kobayashi clan, but where he inspired respect and submission through strength and intimidation this person... this person brought respect on an entirely different approach. "Of course! Y-You're always welcome to attend, in fact we were just about to start. I just hope you will excuse me for not bringing something more 'exotic to satisfy your tastes."The woman shook her head lightly, her lips curving up into a smile as she mused softly. "Don't worry Tanaka-kun, I believe everything I'm looking for is downstairs."And with those words, the duo started to make their way toward the doorway leading further into the establishment. Meanwhile at the area that Thunder Shock and Nick were at the curtains started to spread as a man in a tuxedo approached the stage, clapping his hands once to gather everyone's attention. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the main event of tonight's gathering!"Several of the patrons started to approach the edge of the stage, already knowing what was about to happen. "As you all are likely already aware of, we have brought for you a magnificent shipment of extremely exotic and rare goods. Without further delay, let me introduce you straight up to our most prized possession of this shipment!"Another pair of claps followed as a trapdoor behind the man started to open and a large aquarium of sorts rose behind him. It was at that time, as the man stepped aside that Nick's earlier thoughts about what the nature of those goods was became revealed. A beautiful young woman with long purple hair, a rather revealing outfit and features which seemed to be a blend of a human and the mystical creature known as a Kraken was floating idly in the aquarium. "As you can guess, our first auction of the day is this fair lady! Having properly trained and conditioned her for all your needs and wants, this slave has earned the attention of many of you already prior to the auction. Whether it is her beauty, her talents or her unique exotic features as a Mutation Quirker, we hope you will find her to your liking." The whispers started to resume in the crowd as the man added. "We have confirmed that there is a starting bid of Five Hundred Thousand yen. Who will be the one to claim ownership over this incredibly rare maiden?"

A small part of Nick wondered what his former Yuuei instructors would say if they could see him now, but he quickly dismissed this. As if they had ever done anything beneficial for him. While Thundershock certainly grated on his nerves, at least he could tell he saw potential in him. It was far more than anyone from Yuuei had seen.
The prideful side of him still balked at being ordered around by someone he barely knew. He tried to calm this side by reminding himself that he was here as much for his own reasons as Thunder’s; he had to find out more about Semper Fi, and making contacts would be useful for when he finally put his plans into motion.
His eyes narrowed as Thunder described the true nature of the club’s patrons to him. “That’s hardly surprising.” The people who put on the most airs always had the most to hide. That was not something Mother had told him, but something he had learned simply from observing Mother herself.
He tried not to look too bewildered when Thunder bluntly stated what he wanted him to do there.
He wants me to buy someone?
For what purpose? He could only think of one immediate use and - well, shit. It could not be that, could it? But then why tell him to choose based on Quirk? Christ. Not that he did not have an itch in need of scratching (it always seemed to need so these days), but it was very forward...
His thoughts quieted as the curtain was finally raised and a man emerged. The stage now had Nick’s complete focused attention. He lifted his eyebrows as a water tank rose up behind the man - just how elaborate was this?
Shit, he thought upon observing the mutant beauty floating in the tank. That’s my type…
It was a powerful mutant Quirk with the extra limbs and water-breathing it gave her, yet evidently not powerful enough to stop her capture. It was almost sad.
His grip tightened on his knees.
“I’ll wait. Tempting as it is,” and it definitely was, “I want to see what happens here.”

'Interesting... I was expecting him to jump on the first product that came out.' Thunder thought to himself as he glanced down to the dark haired boy for just a brief moment before looking back up to the girl with the strange octopus like quirk. On one hand, Thunder could definitely see the use in a girl like that, but she reminded him entierly too much of the failed experiments in his own laboratory, and that didn't really give him any confidence in this girl.
"Her quirk might be strong in the sense of genetics, but she obviously doesn't know how to use it, and has a weak mind. While ideal for a slave, not ideal for a high profile crime organization in any way." Thunder explained just loud enough for the boy to hear him. It wasn't long however until the bids started rolling in for the girl, her price tag rising by quite the significant number. Glancing into the stands now, he picked out those that were bidding on the girl and just scoffed. lightly as he watched the high profilers typing into their devices like mad.
"Their going to fuck that girls brains out with a quirk like hers..." Thunder said with a sigh as he picked up the bidding device, glancing at the numbers sky rocketing and scowling. Damn, he knew he needed to place a few high bids on some of these girls to show them that the Kobayashi clan was just as wealthy as ever... but this much money for a sex toy was... a bit much.
"Come on... Jeeze" Thundershock would grumble as he placed his own bid on the girl, at twice the amount she was currently valued, and that caused many people to stop their bids. It seemed that the simple fact that Thunder had placed a bit at all, let alone one so high, had them terrified to act against him.
The bids wouldn't be completed just yet however, as more girls were brought up onto the stage. The next woman to be brought in was slightly older, looking as if she was in her early twenties, and possessed an animalistic quirk. Perhaps a fox, or a wolf type mutation? The woman's eyes loked dulled however as she walked onto the stage with no constraints save for the collar around her neck. She was dressed in nthing but a thin, tight black dress, and tights that did very little to hide her flesh. Her breasts seemed about ready to break the dress for all those there to see. The girl simply stood quietly, submissively where she was told.
the next girl to be brought up was yet another mutation type, this time resembling a little Demon. This one was fairly young, and unlike the last her eyes were still full of life. She didn't seem to care about her situation, her young eyes searching all of the men and woman seated as if looking for her own. Meanwhile, from back stage, you could hear very loud cursing from a fourth woman, along ith the sounds of heavy chains... though no reveal was made just yet.

Nick’s pride kicked in with a vengeance, slapping him back to reality. Wait, what the hell am I thinking? This is a pathetic display. This kind of thing is not worthy of me.
“This is a waste of my time,” he huffed. “I do not bother with second-hand prey; to spend any time on prey you did not catch yourself is itself weakness. If I want something I go for it myself. And I would not go for anyone weak enough to get themselves brought here to this…” Rin, Nari and Rowan were not weak. While it was true that the strong could do as they pleased with those weaker than them, Nick believed he was above even that.
To emphasise how above this farce he was to Thunder, he folded his arms with the absolute poutiest ‘grumpy teenager’ face one could possibly imagine and chose not to watch what was unfolding before him, looking off to the side instead. Was he pushing his luck behaving like this around a powerful Yakuza boss? Quite possibly, almost definitely even, but his immense pride trumped his common sense.
He only looked back towards the stage when he heard sounds of a commotion. An eyebrow lifted with mild interest.
“At least someone is fighting back,” he remarked, arms still folded and the grumpy pout not entirely gone from his face. “That’s better than nothing, I suppose.”

When the Kobayashi master placed his bid on the first slave the auction went silent, the masked attendants turning toward Thunder Shock and his companion when Nick's prideful words earned scoffs and glares of disapproval from the masked spectators. Hushed whispers among the crowd began, some were offended by the arrogance in his tone, others labeled him as a grumpy teenager who didn't get what he wanted, and one of them even whispered loud enough for the duo to hear that some of the audience believed Nick was just saying those words cause he was riding the tailcoat of his companion.
Yeat, as Nick huffed in annoyance and commented about how he didn't bother going after prey that was second-hand, that spending time on prey which he did not catch himself was a sign of weakness a hearty chuckle came from the back of the room. "Interesting words young man." A light clapping came as the crowd seemed to push itself to the sides, the sheer pressure in the room feelable as everyone had gone silent at this sudden intrusion. For the first time a guest had entered the room, a guest who was not masked, and with the fact she was a mutation Quirker, it likely would had been more of a joke to hide her identity if there was any need for it.
The tall Arachne strode forwards toward the spot Thunder Shock and Nick were at, her eyes settling onto the young man. "I can see where he gets that confidence from." A brief glimpse was made toward the Kobayashi master, her lips curving up into a smirk as she continued. "I'm inclined to agree, there is no fun to be found in skipping all the hard work." A soft melodious hum escaped her lips as she turned her gaze toward the stage and declared calmly. "And yet, to rob this audience of their 'entertainment' would be unfair, so how about... a game?" The glint in her eyes was clearly speaking book parts as she continued. "Surely we heard of it by now, behind those curtains is a rather feisty lass, and so I will offer this 'opportunity'."
A hand reached for the side of her face, her smile turning into a smirk. "Catch your prey young man, to the slaves in this room: I offer you freedom if you are able to best this man in combat. Freedom and ample of compensation to resume your life. So... anyone willing to accept this offer?"
A loud huff came from behind the curtains when a sudden loud cracking noise could be heard, a pair of screams resounding as a figure stepped from amidst the curtains, one of her hands was holding one of the attendants, a sickening crushing sound hearable as the man's skull was crushed, and with a light toss the oni-like girl marched toward the end of the stage. "I hold you to your word Spider Lady, so who is that guy I got to crush to get you morons off my back?" The green-skinned oni growled in provocation.
Meanwhile the Arachne turned toward Thunder, a gentle wave of her hand toward the aquarium as she addressed him with a smile. "I'm sure you don't mind, but please allow me to add the young lady to my collection~ I have some use for her. In the meanwhile, let's talk while your companion has his 'fun', shall we?"
She hummed in amusement, a sudden beep noise confirming that Thunder's bid had been outbid by twice the amount as Tsukiko lowered her tone just a little. "Did you enjoy my present? Took quite a bit of effort to send you there instead of straight to the guillotin~ Nonetheless, I read you had quite an adventure on your way out?"
It was clear that whoever this woman was, judging from the casual and carefree tone she used, she clearly didn't fear Thunder Shock. In fact, the audience in the room seemed to not even dare to say anything while she was talking, as if it showcased a different type of intimidation than the sort the Kobayashi Master had. If Thunder Shock inspired fear and envy, then this woman brought forth a dread which while in origin similar to intimidation, felt much more chilling to the core. She didn't terrorize with strength, her power was somewhat different than that of the villains in this room.

To say that Thundershock was unamused by his son’s attitude was an understatement. The man’s eye would twitch in irritation as he looked away from the handheld device to glance dangerously at Nick. If the teen bothered to look, Thunder looked about ready to kill him. Small sparks of lightning began to dance around the man’s frame, electrifying the chair he was sitting on, and my extension, the one that Nick was sitting on, essentially electrocuting his ass with a mild shock.
“Shut your mouth boy before I shut it for you permanently, or better yet, I’ll stick you up there as the next bid” Thunder threatened him dangerously. He wasn’t going to put up with the boys whiny ass behavior, nor was he going to put up with being embarrassed in front of his clients. Nick could have his views all he wanted, but if he didn’t learn to mind his tongue when it wasn’t his time to speak, he would make sure to teach the boy that lesson.
Nick wasn’t wrong, it was always more fun to catch these slaves for themselves… but that wasn’t the point of this trade here. At least not for him. Thundershock had a business to run, and the people gathered here were all connected to his network of influence. Weapons dealers, bankers, high ranking families, CEO’s of all sorts… He had to show them that his influence still help true! But no, he had to invite this brat… and as the other patrons grew silent after their disapproval of Nick, Thunder sighed heavily. There was only one person who could silence a room like this beyond himself, and she was really an irritating woman to deal with.
“Hello Lady Tsukiko” He stated before he would even rise and turn to face her. The bolts of lightning that had just been dancing off his frame vanished, and Thunders expression did a complete 360. He was smiling at the woman as if the two had been friends their whole lives. He even crossed the distance between them and offered his hand to the woman in a facade of kindness. Whenever she proposed they turn this into a game however, Thundershock internally groaned, though never let the annoyance show on his face.
“You do always love to spice things up, don’t you? A game indeed sounds interesting, surely my patrons would like to see their purchases in action.” He said as he went along with it. He knew that conflicting the idea would only create further chaos and show his patrons that there was indeed someone out there that dared stand up to him. Honestly, if she wasn’t so useful, he would have just killed her by now…
He turned to glance to the slaves that were on stage, a few of the newer stock shifting in place as they looked between one another, unsure if they should take the woman up on her offer. Who was to say the first one to act out wasn’t going to get killed on the spot? At least if they were sold, there was always another chance at freedom… None of them knew the way out of this place… Well, all the slaves but one it seemed. A green woman with horns growing out of her head stepped out from behind the curtain, speaking in a heavy northerner accent that Thunder didn’t immediately recognize. She had an interesting mutation type quirk that made her look rather strong… what was more, she called Nick out to a challenge, and Thunder now couldn’t help the hand that flew up to his mask, an exhausted sigh escaping the man’s lips as he removed the traditional mask from his face. He walked back up to Nick and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“You lose, you take her place” He warned him, giving the boy a shove forward as if urging him to take the girl on. This would at least give him a good view of Nick’s quirk and how much he’d managed to develop it since his time at U.A..l. It would also prove whether or not Thunder had truly sired another useless heir…
He rejoined Tsukiko then as she asked him about the slave in the tank, and Thundershock just gave a shrug.
“If you want her then outbid me. She isn’t worth more than I put down” And yet, the handheld would beep and show a number twice as high as what he’d offered for the curiosity.
‘This bitch…’ Thunder thought to himself. For starters, he knew that the girls current owner would be hoping for a bidding battle between the two monetary powerhouses, and yet Thunder didn’t lift a finger to outbid her. He truly didn’t think she was worth the effort, or the headache. She would have just been a labrat after-all.
“Interesting that you would spend so much on a broken in slave. What makes her so special? I didn’t take you for that sort. Regardless, I do hope you enjoy her. She is quite the curiosity isn’t she? With such a powerful mutation~” He mused, laughing whenever she asked him if he’d enjoyed his quarters at Semper Fi. He would just offer her a smirk wider than her own.
“You put me in the perfect situation, I do have to thank you for that. The Semper Fi Military camp, and all the hell that broke loose dealt right into the hand I was playing. Even better that those Hero’s are now being shunned for apparently ‘breaking me out’. Hah. As if. Honestly, I haven’t had this much fun for years, thank you for giving me that.” The man smirked still, nodding towards Tsukiko while still keeping his eyes on the events that would unfold…
Near where the Oni stood, issuing her challenge to Nick, another slave, a male with short red hair and dressed in finer clothing, was standing stoic, watching her...

Nick let out an embarrassingly loud pained hiss as he was dealt a sudden shock. If looks could kill, the glare he shot Thunder would have made him explode. How he wanted to clobber the living daylights out of this man. He dug his fingers into his palms hard enough to draw blood with the effort of holding himself back.
He did not get much chance to acknowledge the spider-woman, whoever the hell she was, for his attention was drawn to the stage as a woman - the source of the commotion, no doubt - accepted the challenge to earn her freedom.
By fighting him, apparently.
He hissed again as Thunder pushed him forward and shot him a glare even more baleful than the last. “I would love to see you try and put me there.”
He strode forward, his steps exuding as much confidence as he could manage with everything he was being put through. He knew well he could not show weakness for even a microsecond, or the sharks in the room would pounce upon him.
He pulled off the stupid mask and let it drop to the floor. His crimson eyes surveyed the one woman prepared to fight back critically. She was indeed beautiful. Muscular. His weakness for girls with mutation Quirks gnawed at his mind. She was definitely blessed with a strong mutation, but he reminded himself that she had still ended up here. She was standing up for herself, though, so that was something at the very least.
“So it’s just you who is willing to fight for your freedom, then? Well. I admire you for that, truly. You’re an example the rest only wish they could follow.” He turned his stern, judgmental gaze towards the remainder of the ‘merchandise’. “Don’t you? You should.”
He cast a contemptuous glance across the patrons of the club, nose curling with disgust. “I wonder how many of the audience here are Quirkless. Individually you may think yourselves weak, but combined you could overwhelm this room. If only you had it in you to try, then perhaps you would not be here in the first place. Still, it’s never too late, is it? Unless you believe it is, in which case you’ve lost. As I imagine many of you do.”
Again he faced the oni woman. “Except you. So, if that’s the case, come at me.”

She had to admit the short back and forth between between Thunder Shock and Nick Cross was somewhat endearing, it made her almost wonder if this was how a father-son argument in the Yakuza was the norm nowadays, yet after the brief exchange Tsukiko merely smiled at his kind facade, his words that followed making her hum in agreement. "I'm glad you are so quick to agree with the idea~" the Arachne answered as she watched Thunder Shock usher Nick toward the stage, making it clear failure was not an option.
As he rejoined her side and commented that she should outbid him if she wanted the slave, the handheld quickly revealed a bid was mase as she mused softly. "Don't mind if I do~" Of course, her actions seemed to baffle the mafia lord, to who she grinned sheepishly. "I'm sure you know by now that you and I are quite similar in our pursuit of a certain something." The spider lady hummed softly as she listened further to the man's tale of Semper Fi. "Ah, Semper Fi, it is a pity that you didn't have the chance to pay enough attention to 'her'" The Arachne stated with a mischievous grin.
"Remember my earlier words? Surely we both seek something interesting after all the 'potential' of a newfound power known as a Quirk is of great interest to both of us." The lass turned her eyes toward the aquarium, a hand raised to her cheek as she mused softly. "In my eyes there are three 'potentials' within Quirks. The 'birth' of a Quirk, this is surely something you strive for, isn't that the case my dear Thunder? The stories and rumors of your 'adventures' with the fairer sex are plenty~" Tsukiko hummed just loud enough for him to hear. "Simply said, the crossing of two quirks to create a stronger, more potent quirk. The theories behind it are still... unrefined due to a lack of data, but it has been proven to be possible. No doubt you know some examples~"
She added the last bit with a wink as she lowered her hands before her chest and folded them up lightly. "The second potential is found within 'development', honing and strengthening your Quirk, constantly striving to surpass your quirk. As you mentioned the girl earlier has a worthy mutation, yet I am more interested in what she can become. Besides, imagine training a broken slave into a worthwhile asset? I don't mean the type to use in bed~" She added the last bit with a snicker as she turned her head sideways, a crimson-haired woman in a tuxedo stepping toward her and handing her which seemed to be a folder.
"The last thing my dear, is something you yourself ended up turning from a mere theory into a fact." It seemed that if Thunder opened the folder he would see that it contained medical files of a certain girl, a girl who the man might remember quite well. "I have to thank our 'mutual' friend for lending me a hand in obtaining this data. But it is quite mysterious..."
She tapped a hand against her cheek as she mused softly. "Look at the data surrounding her Quirk Organ. Ever since you were a dear and fried her body, it triggered a change."
She turned her gaze slightly toward his direction, just enough to observe his face as she continued. "You: Thunder Shock caused someone's quirk to mutate, and my sources tell me it made her stronger. Which makes me wonder... What would happen if you zapped that boy of yours? What sort of reaction would it cause?"
She laughed softly, shaking a hand dismissively at the notion as she mused softly. "It was but a jest~ Although, it does make me believe that given the right circumstances, some Quirks are capable of mutating."
Meanwhile, she looked back toward the ongoing skirmish that was about to begin between Nick Cross and the slave who was about to fight for her freedom.
