Kazuto was at his office sorting his paperwork when he heard his phone beep A message? From who? he thought to himself as he picked it up and checked who it was from "Hana...." he said to himself as he read the message, she wanted to meet him, he sent a message back that read "Meet me at the bar near my office, you know the one", he hit enter and stretched out in his chair before standing up, putting a certain magazine in his bag, grabbing his jacket and exited his office to make his way to the bar.
Once he arrived he sat on a stool up at the bar and looked at the bartender "I'll have a White Russian," he said to the bartender, the bartender nodded and brought him his drink After all this time, I wonder what she wants, I highly doubt this is a social call to catch up, so what could she need from me? Kazuto thought to himself as he waited for Hana to arrive taking a sip from the drink in front of him Now that I think about it, she works nearby here doesn't she? he thought to himself as he looked up to see if he could spot Hana

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away The magazine had told her, she had to fix this. Which was for multiple reasons ridiculous as Hanako worked for them and the magazine was sued for her article, not for her private one, the one where she wrote about her daily life on the blog that she owned for Metropolitan, no the one made by Lady Scandal. No one knew who she was, she would never show up in court anyway but it was the magazine that would have to deal with it. Mostly because she did not want to meet the person that the magazine used to finish off its dirty business. However, to fix this issue as soon as possible, she sat in her office and texted the one person she did not want to text but whose number she saved because: you never know. He replied rather quickly and she took her sunglasses, even if it was cold and November, the sun still shone right? Grabbed her jacket, scarf and fixed her hair in a bun so it was less obviously long and blond. She passed her boss office and waved at him that she was out and hurried down to the elevator to go down the six floors. While she walked there she stared at the balustrade near the stairs, where she was caught by G... it was good to remember that but at this point, there was this knot in her stomach that was called: guilt feelings. She hurried outside and walked with the sound of her heels clicking extremely loud on the pavement towards that one bar. When she entered, she noticed he was looking out for her and she took a deep breath before walking over to him, "Hello Kaz, great you could answer so soon." How polite was that? "The magazine has an issue with someone not liking my article." She said in a hushed whisper because no one needed to know so she was only sure Kazuto heard it. MADE BY VEL OF GS

As Kazuto was looking around he saw Hana approach him, she said hello to him and it was great he could answer so soon "I wasn't that busy, just sorting out some paperwork so, I had time to meet," he said with a slight shrug "Come sit down, grab a drink," he said as he motioned towards the seat next to him. She then told him that the magazine has an issue with someone not liking her article, Kazuto just smirked "That big mouth of yours would always get you in trouble, I see that hasn't changed," he said "Now, the most important question, after all this time why should I help you? Especially after how things ended, why would I help?" Kazuto asked "Messaging me and walking in here like nothing ever happened, seriously Hana?"he said, his voice becoming more hostile but still hushed, he knew the real reason she ended things, now it was just a matter of whether she'd be truthful with him this time or whether he would have reveal what he knew, finishing off his drink he looked to the bartender "Can I get another White Russian," he said to the bartender, taking a sip from the drink when it arrived, before turning back to Hana "So?" he asked, waiting for her response

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away While greeting Kazuto, she took off her sunglasses and switched to her regular glasses. She kept her long blonde hair in a bun to make it less obvious or that's how it felt to her. She nodded when he said that he wasn't busy, well at least that was one of them. Not that she was really busy, she could write a blog everywhere but the problem was that well youknow fixing a lawsuit was something bigger. She climbed on the barstool without much difficulty, yeah for high heels and yeah for not trying to make an impression and fall right off again. That was a long time ago, it must be two years now and she told him that it was an issue with the magazine. She looked at him sideways with her blue eyes and saw him smirk, that was a good thing for now. She pouted and looked a bit annoyed (all for presentation) because he said her big mouth, it was her job! She wanted to reply that things did change but Kazuto was first and asked her why he should help her and she turned to look at him, were they really going to take this personal? "I never said nothing happened. You are the lawyer that Metropolitan picked, surely you have not forgotten that." Else they would have never met. She noticed the tone in her voice and she looked away to not show how guilty she still felt. She nodded to the barman to add one for her too, drinking during work hours was a disastrous idea, drinking while sitting next to Kazuto might even be a worse idea. "The reason I asked you is simple, you are good at your work, so even if the magazine picked you, I would still do the same. That is if you could take this as a business thing." That was probably wrong to say. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Hana told him that she never said nothing happened and that he was the lawyer that the magazine picked and that surely he hadn't forgotten that, he scoffed "Of course I haven't forgotten that," he said, getting more frustrated "I'm just frustrated you seemed to have forgotten to tell me that you cheated, that's all," he said casually as he had another drink from his glass "Did you really think I wouldn't find out? Everything was going great and then out of nowhere you broke it off, of course I was going to get suspicious," he said to her "I had a buddy of mine do some digging, they said someone saw you and some white haired guy entering your building that he was carrying you, but nobody saw either of you come out for the rest of that day," he said to her, turning to face her he reached into his bag and slapped the magazine onto the bar "Can you imagine my surprise when I see this article from Lady Scandal, you making out with a white haired guy, great article you wrote by the way," he said coldly to her, leaning in to whisper the last part, he didn't want to expose her secret, because she could easily expose his. He then finished off his drink and resumed to normal "So, do you want to finally come clean or do you want to keep lying to me?" he asked her "You know how much I value loyalty Hana and in my line of work loyalty is very important, so I'm sure you can see why I'm having trouble looking at this from purely a business perspective, because I have a reason to doubt your loyalty," he said to her coldly again, finally fed up that she lied to him "So let me ask you give me one good reason I should trust you," he asked her, turning to the bartender to order another drink

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away She held on to the glass, her knuckles gtting white because well multiple reasons. Kazuto had a good reason to not trust it but to find it out in that way, how ridiculous. Why it sounded like it was an obsession that she did not want to acknowledge. She clenched her jaw and stared in front of her without moving, not answering until he was done with his stupid speech, she could at this point not imagine she ever loved this guy or was it simply because he was great in bed? She felt her loathe him but she needed him, the magazine would not even have lawsuits starting with the way he worked and that might be illegal but it saved a reputation. Well at least Kazuto had the decensy to whisper about her job and she felt a shiver going down her spine. So he read that. Where she saved herself and G from becoming suspicious people in the rumours of Lady Scandal, especially on her work, She bet people were betting to find out the name and poor Hanako had to save herself but fell in another trap. She stared at him with a hatred stare. "Loyalty." She repeated as if she had spitted the word out. "I had no intention ever to cheat on you. Which is why I broke up, I could not stand what I did, I did not dare to tell you, it was out respect for you and the mistake I made." Which was only partial true. She only had noticed so many more months later, up till twelve, that she was only waiting around to be a couple with G, which was a thing now. "So yes, if you want to hear it from my lips specifically, I cheated on you and it was a mistake." She had not wanted to cheat, she was at least for something like that, after that it had only be one night stands. "But to be very clear, it was not correct to snoop in other people their business, that was twelve months ago Kazuto, so what does this article still matter, to what we had." She pointed at the Metropolitan. "As to why you should take this job, I am not going to force you, but isn't it the same for you? You promised to work for the magazine, not to me, I just happened to be there." Her first few weeks and immediately sued for an article, ugh how naive she had been at that point, the point they met. "So, are you breaking that promise yourself? Should I stand up and send someone else or can we take this elsewere and keep it for business." She decided to play the card, she absolutely, two year later, did not care about what she wrote and how much it hurt people. The universe consisted of big babies and she only outed their mistakes. She sighed to show that she had understood her mistake, "Kaz, I know you can't trust me but you should not see this as me but as Metropolitan. I can't tell you how sorry I am for the mistake, but that's in the past now and it doesn't change what I did." MADE BY VEL OF GS

Hana spat the word loyalty back at him, saying that she never intended to cheat on him which is why she broke up with him and she didn't tell him out of respect for him, he again scoffed "I didn't realize lying to someone was considered respectful, you should've just been honest with me," he said to her "I didn't need you to spare my feelings and have me find out on my own, I only snooped around because I wanted actual answers, not just be told some bullshit story," he said to her again a little frustrated, why is HE being made out to be the bad guy here? She always was good at twisting words into her favour, she was born to be a journalist he thought to himself, she said that she wouldn't force him to take the job but isn't it the same for him that he promised to work for the magazine and asked if he was breaking that promise himself and asked if she should stand up and send someone else or if they could keep this conversation business related, she then said she knows he can't trust her and that it's in the past and she can't change it but she's sorry, Kazuto rubbed his temples and sighed The cheeky bitch turning my words on me, I can see why I fell for her at the time he thought to himself as he finished off his final drink "Alright, let's go to my office to work this out, it's not far, however, in order to make up for you lying to me, you're going to owe me a personal favour, if I ever need info on someone, I'm asking you, after that favour is over, we're squared," he said as he put his money on the bar to pay for both of their drinks, grabbed his jacket and bag and led Hana back to his office. Once they arrived and entered his office he chucked his jacket and bag on a nearby couch and sat at his desk "So, what's the article you're being sued over and who's suing you?" he asked as he leaned back in his chair and motioned for Hana to sit at the chair in front of his desk.

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away "I never said it was respectful." She looked the other way, her ice cold eyes were really giving him the cold look when she looked at him. "I just did not know what to do and I made a decision, I never said it was the right one." But well, even if that was the right one or the wrong one, it had showed his true colours anyway. She wasn't a possession to keep and to only show, she had feelings and no longer for him, that was clear. Words were a careful and considerative matter, she had learned that, he must have learned that. Both their jobs albeit in very different situations worked around the approach of words. What would it have changed if she had been honest, how much heartbreaking, nerve wreaking would it be to tell him, straight in his face that she cheated on him with her childhood friend. One who she had not seen at that point for about fourteen years, if not more. She finished her drink, waiting for him to reply to her little monologue of loyalty, of what he certainly would not want to hear. She would have smirked if he wasn't sitting next to her. Hanako knew she had won this round.
Hanako shortly looked at Kazuto to see what he was doing. "you ask me to my job." She shrugged, it would not be very interesting. Though she was very careful, "You only don't have the right to get information about the one person I am dating right now." Protecting G, she was sure he would show up on Kazuto his radar anyway and he would have to get access to him in another way. "That's one person compared to millions." She was exaggerating a bit, her reach wasn't far beyond the borders of Tokyo's neighborhoods. She waited to follow him, to make sure he agreed, she wasn't stupid, but it was a dangerous path she was going. She did follow, having a very hard grip on her bag to do something with her hands. She did not trust Kazuto but he probably did not trust her either, both had their reasons. She felt very small and fragile and looked shortly if she would be able to reach her phone soon enough, not really, but she would see.
As they arrived at his office, she looked around, nothing changed, did he get a new desk? She simply looked around before sitting on the couch because it would not be smart to hop on the side of the desk every again. She took the magazine out of her bag and went to find the article, "It's Jolene Angelica. I made a picture of her breast as she had a slip of her dress. Now she wants it to be removed, the article is already published and asking for compensation for that damage." She shook her head, if you were a star, for crying out loud check your wardrobe before malfunctions. "I don't know if her agent sued more people, I wasn't the only one who got a picture of it. Perhaps I had the best." Again she shrugged, it did not mean much to her, this was her job after all. There were many ways to avoid being so dumb and ridiculous. She found her own article and stood up to walk to Kazuto and show him. MADE BY VEL OF GS

She told him she never said it was respectful or that it was ever the right decision. After a few minutes in thought Kazuto sighed "I guess breaking that news to me was going to be a lose-lose situation either way," he said. She said his favour was just asking her to do her job, she made 1 condition, he couldn't ask about the guy she was dating right now and that it was one person compared to a milllion "As long as he keeps his nose out of trouble and doesn't screw around with the wrong people I won't have to bother with him," he said with a shrug "Unless he's likely to screw with the wrong people?" he asked with a smirk and a raised eyebrow "But fine, that's fair enough," he agreed to her terms as he slipped on his jacket and exited the bar. When they arrived at his office Hana sat down on the couch instead of the chair, Kazuto showed some mock hurt on his face "Oh come on Hana, you're a paying customer, I'm not going to do anything bad to you," he said. Hana then told him the case, Jolene Angelica had a wardrobe malfunction and Hana wrote about it, now she wants it to be removed and is asking for compensation and that she wasn't sure if the agent had sued multiple people or if she was the only one, but others had also published the pictures, he picked up the magazine and properly read through the article "Yeah, I could get this thrown out easily, especially if you're the only company they've filed a lawsuit against, tell your boss he's got nothing to worry about," he said as he gently threw the magazine back on his desk "So, is there anything else you need from me or is that it for today?" he asked as he leaned back in his chair

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away Hanako didn't say much about it anymore, she let him do the thinking. She had at that point not acted like she was someone's girlfriend and she knew very much that was wrong. She had no idea where it came from as she believed she thought it was just a childhood fantasy, a what if. What if Gil had not moved away from her, would she ever have started dating Kazuto? They were so much the same that it was difficult actually imagining a future. When she bought the penthouse and they had a huge fight about it, while she always had wanted to buy a house for herself, not thinking about already moving in together and it was better not to think about the past. She simply nodded when he said it would be a lose-lose situation either way. She didn't answer the question, first, she thought it was rhetorical and second, it was none of his business if G hang out with the wrong people. Technically he did but the vigilante party (she bet there was a gang) would not be bad as the wrong people that Kazuto must mean. She would follow him to his office, something familiar and she sat on the couch, it was a habit perhaps but also to get some distance. She would simply ignore his comment but look for the article and just hand it to Kazuto and remain standing next to him, not too close. She did not want him to think differently or that she was easy bait. She had to be very careful. She clenched her jaw as he asked her if she needed anything from him. As if and she gave him the cold stare and wry smile, "Of course not, but thank you very much for your time." With that, she grabbed her bag and headed out without much of a word. She simply waved goodbye. It must have been two weeks later that she got a text that the lawsuit had been taken back and that there was no question for compensation or for the article to be pulled. It was also no longer needed, Kazuto must have convinced the court that the publishing of her article was less damaging than that of the papers or something along those lines. She texted back that she was glad for the information and thanked him again for his work. It might be wise in the future to look for other victims, so she would not have to meet up with Kazuto too many times again. MADE BY VEL OF GS
