Okay, so. With my plans do some arcs for the classes and such, I figured I write this up so people could get a better understanding of how I do things. Since this is my personally crafted story and all and not an official event or anything it is different than how things are done by staff. I have no official capacity to make world-changing craziness or anything like that. I WILL, however, inch as close to it as I can. One day I totally want to blow up a city....one day QQ.
Anyways, I'm just going to go over a few things just to get those that want to take part a gist of what is in store for them.
Firstly, these aren't death enabled like main events are. I don't want people stuck in my arcs nor is it my place to kill off someone else's character. My stories aren't about how dangerous they are, but how amazing you can be in them. I want those in the arc to flex that cool stuff they have been working on without worrying about if their character will be permanently deleted because of it. I know most of the time DE topics are to prevent silly stuff and metagaming, but I want you to do that silly stuff. I want to see you bust out that "I'm the main character and this is me going 1000000%" all up and down these arcs. Please...GO FULL SHOUNEN on me.
That said, if you want some personal storyline or reference added into the arc for your character in their topic, just let me know. I'm all for adding that personal touch to it. But if it's something majority where you need control over the situation and NPC, this arc is likely not the best place for it. But like, throw the idea at me anyways so we can make something awesome together!
Back to the first point, I'll say again, don't be afraid to go all out. Trust my ability to write around things to keep the story going forward without making it feel cheap. Use your cool ass special moves. Have that equipment on hand. Do whatever, in most cases, I'm not too worried about anyone holding back for being afraid to affect the story. If you can just outright insta-defeat something I put up against you, do it! It's my fault for not making a better foe. But on the flipside, if it fails reasonably, don't get mad at me =X.
As for posting order and timing. In the larger topics, I'll straight up post every few days whether or not everyone has replied. It is in the interest of time and keeping things going. I'll try and be generous, but I don't want people waiting for too long and I don't want the arcs to become stalled. I hope that is understandable. For the small topics with 2-4 people in them, they'll have the usual 48 hour period that most event stuff has. In short, I'm trying to keep things timely.
Sign-ups for the topic will be done a little differently as well. Rather than an OoC topic for people to sign up in, it'll just be the opening post. A setting will be set and those that reply to it will effectively be signed up for the arc before people are split up into their own topics and such. It'll help things flow easier and it'll even give the sign-up post some exp! That one will have the usual sign up time limit of a week or two to give people time to jump in. After which, the next post will move the story along and get people into their own things after that.
The current arcs I have planned for 1-A and 1-C are very shounen in structure, just for the sake of testing how they do. The typical split the class up and have combat for them. There will be a few extra things to cover bumps in the road. For example, if a group finishes their topic early and another had stalled, that group, which permission from those involved, can run into the other and join their topic to continue and finish it up. That way people that are more active in the story can get more involvement for it.
If there are any problems with the arc or how things are done, just let me know. I'm happy to make adjusts or requests of someone is looking for that. I want it to be just as fun for you as it will be for me!
And finally, please understand what fodder is. I don't know if I'll use them in this arc, but if a present a group with an enemy that is "fodder" then I want those involved to handle them with ease and without my input. They are literally fodder that to can do whatever you want with. Struggle or decimate, it's up to you. Whatever you decide, I expect them to be dealt with before my next ST post.
