PERSONALITY POSITIVE ✔ Empathetic, Passionate, Tenacious, Optimistic, Clever NEGATIVE ✖ Obnoxious, Loud, Stubborn, Aggressive, Self-Critical LIKES ✔ Cooking, exploring new cuisine, cosplay, videogames, anime and tokusatsu DISLIKES ✖ Bullies, Edgelords, Bigotry, Fedoras, People telling her she's too old for anime and tokusatsu PERSONALITY Samantha has never been the kind of girl to do anything by halves. Assertive, passionate and headstrong, she approaches everything with high energy and enthusiasm. An extroverted and friendly person by nature, Sam is quick with a smile and a kind word for those around her. At her best, her enthusiasm and cheerful nature are contagious, and she is able to raise the spirits of those around her. There's rarely a quiet moment around Sam, and she does her best to share her passion and optimism with the people she spends time with. At her worst, Sam is grating, pushy and aggressive. Her high energy can wear people thin quickly, and she has a hard time putting herself out there around people who don't take well to her forceful personality. However, Samantha does have a strong sense of empathy and ethics, so while she might not be the sort of person everyone can tolerate being around, she has enough of a mind to see and realize that... eventually. Despite how she seems, Sam is very self aware and self critical as a person. She's been through a lot of abuse from her peers, and the things she's been told her whole life have stuck with her for better or for worse. Samantha has a startlingly low opinion of herself that she keeps tightly under wraps and buried deep under her usual passionate self. Because of this, she has a lot of trouble opening up about her true feelings and inner thoughts, and she is especially cagey about talking about her transitioning. | APPEARANCE HEIGHT: "Fun size." 1.5m WEIGHT: "You know it's rude to ask a lady that." 49.8 kg HAIR/STYLE: "Flawless." Sam keeps her hair short and in a cute, straight cut. Her hair is black, clean, and well kept. SKIN/SCARS: "Only emotional ones, really." Samantha has pale, creamy and soft skin that she maintains with careful hormone based dieting and herbal supplements along with diligent physical care. She has a few nicks and scars, but most of them are so faded and small that you'd have to be right on top of them to notice them. The only exception is a diagonal slash across her index and middle finger where she accidentally cut herself cooking once. EYES: "Imagine I said something prose-y that used the word 'orbs'." Sam's eyes are hazel, and seem to shift in colouration slightly depending on how the light hits them. Generally speaking they're bright and attentive, but their colour is somewhat muted. NOTABLES: It is worth noting that Samantha is transitioning, and was assigned male at birth. She has been undergoing hormone therapy for a few years now and as such has a bust and feminine appearance. Slender and pretty, Samantha is quite proud of her appearance, and it shows in her confidence. Samantha is a lithe young woman with a runner's build, her body lean and toned from consistent exercise. Samantha is meticulous about her appearance, with every aspect of it carefully cultivated through rigorous dieting, exercise, cosmetic care and hygeine. Sam is immaculate, her dark black hair and pale, blemishless skin almost obsessively clean. Sam has a wide wardrobe with varying forms of fashion, although her favourite outfit is of a punk/scene kid style despite it not really meshing with her general personality. She always carries a large bag with her regardless of her outfit, although what's inside it is a mystery to anyone but herself. |

HISTORY Kids are cruel. To Sam, this was a fact of life. It wasn't easy being the odd girl out, and there were several reasons that marked her as an outsider to her peers. Whether it was her mixed heritage, the fact that to other people she wasn't "actually" a girl, or the fact that her Quirk as a child seemed to merely be "smells bad", Sam was a target for isolation and ridicule by her peers. As such, Sam grew up a surly and confrontational child. There is, after all, so many times you can take being called "Fart Gas" before you start fighting back. Akihabara was an escape from Sam's troubles in a lot of ways. She had a fascination with heroes and fantasy, particularly ones where the hero transforms into something greater than themselves. It was something she herself wanted to do. She wanted to become a lot of things: liked, powerful, a hero, a "real" girl... But the more she wanted, the more it felt like her dreams were out of her grasp. Eventually, Samantha's emotional and mental health deteriorated to the point where her parents were extremely concerned. They knew that their child was... different. They knew that she needed help, but they didn't know how, and the more she went through the more it became clear that she needed to be taken out of the environment hurting her. It was then that it was decided that Sam should go to live with an aunt in Canada - a child psychologist. Adjustment was rough, but with time and patience Samantha's aunt - and the fresh start - helped Sam develop into a happy and cheerful young woman. While she didn't see herself being a doctor like her aunt, her experience through her transitioning period further enforced Sam's desire to be a hero and help people in need with her own talents. As she came into her new identity, she started to explore her quirk and test its limits and capabilities. Sam was 17 when she heard the news: heroism was becoming a legal, government-sanctioned job. Naturally, she leapt at the opportunity to become a real, professional hero. But then she learned that the first academy for heroes was to be back home... back in Japan. Samantha hesitated to go back home, even though she wasn't the same person that had left. Anxious and uncertain, Samantha nonetheless made the choice to return to Japan and throw herself at her dream. |
