It was the small things, like Chise's smile at their matching wristbands, that mattered to Haruto. As long as she was happy, how could he possibly be sad? Which was also why he was more than happy to go with her to a bakery- If it was what she wanted, how dare he refuse? Besides, if they spent the whole day at the aquarium, wouldn't that be a waste! Mostly because, well, they had so much time. Enough time to see every exhibit and show, three times over! Speaking of shows, they should find out when those would be!
But that would have to wait, as a tug on his arm led to Haruto being half-dragged by Chise to the entryway of the aquarium. In the main atrium, the obvious eye-catcher was the massive tank in the center, a pillar filled with all sorts of bright, tropical fish- As well as other sea creatures, rays- Or were they skates? An eel poked its head out of a crack in the rock. Anemones waved in a simulated current, as crabs and shrimp crawled on the rocks. It was truly breathtaking, and as the two circled around the tank, it seemed they spotted something new each step.
"Oh, I want to see all of it!" Haruto blurted when asked where he wanted to go first. But, to start... Oh, before that, we need to stop at the reception and see if we can get a timetable!" It was a shame to leave the center tank, but- Well, they could always come back to it later! Without letting go of Chise's hand, Haruto walked back towards the main entrance. "Excuse me..." Haruto caught the attention of the receptionist. "Could we get a map, and a schedule of events for the day, please?"
The lady happily obliged, handing over the two brochures. Haruto thanked her politely, then would lead Chise away. The hardest part was opening the map with one hand. "Alright, let's see... Oh, it looks like we just missed the first show of the day, and the next one will be in... Three hours. Alright, that gives us plenty of time to see the aquarium before it starts! As for the rest... Well, here, this path loops around this building and back to here, so, why don't we start with that?" Haruto pointed towards the first exhibit path, which was filled with fish that could be found in or near Japan.
Haruto led Chise towards the path he pointed towards. The Indigenous Fish of Japan was the name of the exhibit, and as it stated, it was all about fish which could reasonably be seen in the country- Both in freshwater, and in the oceans around it. "Whoa, check out that catfish!" The specimen in question was an absolute monster- At least a meter in length, it was the Amur catfish. And in the next tank over, a similar giant- The Lake Biwa catfish. But besides these monsters, were a whole host of other fish. From swarms of minnows, to schools of carp. The fish aside, they also had several salamanders- Many of which were protected, such as the aptly named Japanese Giant Salamander- As well as a whole spread of turtles.
The saltwater side had even greater diversity- Octupi and squid, seahorses and sharks. Stingrays and sturgeons. "Whoaaaaa...." Haruto gasped as an eel swam right past the two students. "It's amazing how much is found so close to home, isn't it?" There was already so much to see, and yet, this was only the first hall!

As the two support studies students looked at the large tower of sea creatures, Chise could help but turn her gaze away from the tank to simply admire Haruto's face. Seeing him so excited made her really happy as well. She so badly wanted to take a picture of his cute face but was not quick enough as Haruto answered her question about where he wished to head first. She'd have to be quicker next time, keep her phone in her picket and be ready whenever he showed an adorable expression like that again. Oh, getting a guide map and a time brochure would be good to have to see where everything was and when the special events were. Though Chise had been here before when she was younger, a lot of things seemed to have changed over time. Maybe the aquarium would be completely different than how she remembered it. Well, at least they kept the beautiful glass tower filled with fish and other fun sea creatures.
The peach haired girl was a little upset to leave the focal point of the aquarium so quickly, but knew they had the rest of the aquarium to see as well. She could help but hold Haruto's hand a bit tighter when he led her over to the front entrance, not wanting to loose him as well as feeling the warmth from his hand. With guide in hand, thanks to Haruto, Chise decided to look over Haruto's guide, not wanting to let her hand go to open her own map. She got just a bit closer to him, arms pressed together as Chise looked over Haruto's map with him, seeing what else they changed at the aquarium. Hearing the next show would be in a few hours, the poofy haired girl grew excited. By the time the next show rolled around, they could look around the whole of the aquarium! Turning to look up at Haruto, Chise nodded with a big smile on her face, "That sounds good to me, lead the way map master!" the violet eyed girl said with a chuckle, soon following Haruto into a new hallway filled with sea creatures native to Japan itself.
As they walked, Chise pulled her phone out just in case she saw a fish or two she wanted to take a picture of. This was also her chance to take cute pictures of Haruto without him knowing. She looked at the many different species of catfish that lined the side wall in their own separate tanks. She took a picture here and there, her golden opportunity coming closer and closer. She turned her attention away from the fish to look at Haruto, seeing the twinkle in his eyes and the cute smile her now dawned. Chise took this opportunity to take a picture of him before turning her phone away, mentally celebrating for getting a great picture! This was only the first of many, after all. By the end of this trip, she was bound to have many more picture of Haruto on her phone than the fish in the aquarium. Chise was brought out of her happy thoughts when she saw an eel swim past them in the current tank they were at. Why were Haruto's little excited sounds so unbelievably adorable? Chise just wanted to hug him and cuddle him with how cute he was! Did he even know what his reactions were doing to Chise? "Ah yes. There are quite the variety of fish and creatures of the sea close to home. This is only room one, think of what other amazing things still await us in the upcoming rooms!" the peach haired girl said with a chuckle. Her favorite room wasn't until the very end, but that was ok, she could wait to see her buddies again.

Hearing a click, Haruto turned towards the source- But there was only Chise, looking at him with her precious smile. Oh, how he loved that smile- Along with everything else about Chise, of course! Squeezing her hand, he returned her smile. He must have imagined the click, but, since when did he need an excuse to look at Chise? If anything, he'd rather be looking at her than the fish! But, wouldn't that be, weird? Besides, it would defeat the purpose of coming to the aquarium... And since it was his first time here, he didn't want to miss anything! If only it were possible to look in two directions at once...
But feeling embarrassed from looking at her for too long, Haruto swiftly busied himself with reading the informative panels in the exhibit. "Ah, because Japan is so isolated, it has a lot of species that can't be found anywhere else! He awkwardly read aloud. As he spoke, he peeked at his companion from the corner of his eye. Was she having as much fun as he was? He certainly hoped so! He would hate for their first date to be a flop... But, he couldn't exactly just up and ask her if she was having fun!
"Yeah, I know what you mean. It's nice to see the local ones, especially the stuff we don't get to see so commonly- But, I definitely look forward to seeing more exotic stuff! What about you, what's the exhibit you look forward to the most?" Haruto was curious what Chise's favorite was. His own... Well, he hadn't ever been before, so he didn't even know- And Chise was not a valid response!
And there was one native fish he couldn't help but point out- "Oh look, it's the Fugu Puffer! Did you know you need a license in order to cook that? It can take up to three years to get it! Just for that one fish, isn't that crazy?" Since cooking was, after all, no more than a hobby for Haruto, he didn't have any intention of aiming for that license. But he had to respect the cooks who went for it!
Well, the fact that his quirk would make the license irrelevant for himself crossed his mind, but, well... Just because he could, didn't mean he should! If he was going to cook Fugu, he would do it the proper way, whether he needed to or not! Which just meant he probably never would. "Ah, sorry. It's weird to think about cooking seafood in an aquarium, isn't it...?"

Darn, did he see her? The peach haired girl quickly put her phone away and smiled up at Haruto, trying not to seem suspicious as if she hadn't just taken his picture without him knowing. Chise turned her attention back to the fish, squeezing Haruto's hand back once he squeezed it first. The fish were indeed nice, but she had seen them a few times before. She didn't want to say she wasn't having fun, if anything It was the complete opposite! Although...there was something more pressing she'd rather do then just look at the fish all day. Chise nodded in response to Haruto's comment about these species of fish that can't be found anywhere else in the world. It was pretty interesting, she was sure there were many fish like that. She softly smiled, her eyes following a few of the fish until they would decide to move on to the next room, or Haruto caught her attention again.
Her favorite exhibit? Well that was an easy one! Chise turned to Haruto and spoke up, "My favorites are the manatees! They are so pudgy and cute and they like to come up to the glass to look at you! There was one I always loved to see when I was little. It's like we had a connection! I would always rush to the manatees just to see if my friend was there. His name was Henry. He had come from another aquarium in the United States. There's just something so exotic about him. I hope I can see him today!" she spoke up, not realizing how loud she was being. The poofy haired girl's cheeks grew a little red as she realized how obnoxious she must have been. "I-I'm sorry....I just really like the manatees," she said, growing a bit embarrassed.
Chise was brought out of her little slump when she heard Haruto mention a certain kind of fish that was swimming past them. Oh, a puffer fish! She did remember reading somewhere that you had to take extra care in preparing them because of some organ in their bodies. It was potentially poisonous to humans. "Ah I did remember reading it somewhere. Who knew such a cute fish could be highly dangerous if not prepared properly. Three years though? That seems like quite a lengthy amount of time for just one fish," the violet eyed girl said with a chuckle. All that trouble for one little fish. When hearing Haruto apologize for talking about seafood in an aquarium, Chise couldn't help but chuckle, he really was a cutie pie. Chise squeezed his hand just a bit tighter before turning to look up at him again. "Why don't we head to the next room! I'm sure there are plenty of other little friends just waiting to see us!" the peach haired girl said, leading Haruto out of the current exhibit and moving on to the next. She wondered when the penguins would be coming up. They were always fun to see as well.

Haruto chuckled at Chise's enthusiasm. He wasn't put off at all by her enthusiasm- Quite the opposite, in fact! Nothing pleased him more than to see Chise happy. However, Chise was clearly concerned that he was, so he moved to reassure her. Reaching out, the boy would tussle that fluffy red hair with a smile. "What's there to be sorry for? Didn't I say it, that you're the cutest when you're getting excited about the things you love?" It was true then, when they weren't even dating- How could it have changed now? "Although, I have to say, I never thought I'd see the day where I was jealous of a manatee!" He tried to shrug off the embarassing words he had just spoken with a joke, but... Somehow, wasn't the joke even more embarrassing?
He shrugged it off. "You're right, let's move on to the next room! We can see if Henry's still around when we get there, right?" He unfolded the map- A less simple task, when you consider that he had to do so one-handed in order to not let go of Chise's hand! "It looks like the next room is a hallway sandwiched between two massive tanks- On the left is going to be a Pacific tank, and there'll be an Atlantic tank on the right!" Of course, the two would only show slivers of each ecosystem- Both oceans were absolutely massive, after all! And of course, the species had to be carefully curated to make sure that none of the species kept together would be eating their tankmates!
"I was thinking this earlier, but... Wow, this place is massive! Just this one hallway, I feel like it could be an aquarium in and of itself!" The sheer scale of this place was beyond any place Haruto had been to before. Absolutely crazy. The two would slowly make their way between the two tanks, which seemed designed to highlight the differences between the two oceans. As the two progressed, each hallway would show its own distinctive theme. Finally, "Oh, Chise! The manatees are in the next room! Come on, let's see if Henry still remembers you, shall we?"

Chise slowly looked up at Haruto, having felt his hand pat her head, gently ruffling her curly peach locks. The fact that he would do something intimate like that in public made the redhead's cheeks heat up more, growing a bit embarrassed at the action. Chise listened to Haruto reassure her but his words only made her that more embarrassed. He thought she was cute when she talked about her passions? She didn't think he ever told her that before, why did he have to get her so flustered in public. Her face was as read as a tomato was hearing these embarrassing things while he pet her head. Chise had to take a moment and stop mentally freaking out to hear that Haruto was jealous of a manatee. Ehh? Jealous? Why was he jealous of a sea animal. "T-There's nothing to be jealous about! I d-do love manatees but I love you way more!" she spoke, not realizing she practically shouted those things at Haruto. The action hitting her, realizing she said that all out loud. Chise couldn't help but hide her face, she must have made quite a scene. Perhaps it might be better if they move on to the next room after all.
Chise, keeping her head low held onto Haruto's hand as she followed him into the next room, not wanting to see the judgmental stares of the other aquarium patrons looking at her because of her outburst. Chise listened as Haruto read off what rooms were next, while all of those sounded fun, she wasn't sure she could focus on much aside from the burning embarrassment that now plagued her mind. She didn't want to ruin the date by not focusing, but how could she focus on anything else when Haruto teased her like that? The violet eyed girl snapped out her mental trance when the word manatee was uttered, Haruto saying that they were in the next room as the walked through the hallways of the aquarium. Chise eagerly nodded, wanting to go straight to the manatees to see her old friend again. Thankfully, there weren't that many people in the manatee room, giving Chise an easy access to the tanks. She went over and looked carefully inside, wondering if she could see her friend Henry once more. It had been quite a while since she last saw him...she wondered how he's been. Chise watched manatee after manatee swim by, but none of them were Henry. A small frown formed on her face when she did not see him. Was Henry still at this aquarium? Did he get sick since the last time they saw one another? She hoped he was alright.

Haruto's heart melted at Chise's outburst. He'd been joking about being jealous of the manatees, but... He couldn't find the heart to explain that to Chise, after seeing her embarrassed face. Not that his own could possibly be any less red- It was a notably public outburst, after all. At least one other person was covering their mouth to hide a giggle as they looked at the pair. "Ahaha, I, love you too." Haruto awkwardly replied. Of course, he kept it to a volume only Chise could hear, as he gave her hand a squeeze. The voice in the back of his head screamed at him, telling him to shut up and kiss her- But he'd had enough of listening to that voice, as it only ever seemed to make things worse! Besides, how would Chise feel if he just kissed her out of the blue like that?
And so the two awkwardly waddled into the next room, hoping to avoid the gazes. Thankfully, no one was so bored as to stalk this cute couple in the hopes of more charming moments, so the rest of the visit went relatively uneventfully. Still, the fish were cool, and no moment spent with Chise could ever be considered a moment wasted!
As they walked into the manatee room, Chise wasted no time in rushing to the glass to look for her old friend. She was just too cute at times like this! Haruto smiled at the sight of her excitement as he casually strolled up to join her. But when he reached her, that smile faded- How could he smile, when Chise was frowning!? "Ah, what's wrong?" Haruto asked. "Is... Is Henry not there?" But by her face, he already knew. His expression turned grim. He wrapped his arm around Chise, holding her tight in an attempt to comfort her. "I. Err. I know, let's ask someone from the front desk! I'm sure they could tell us what happened to Henry!"
For better or for worse, Chise would feel better knowing the truth... Even if Henry was, gone, it would be better to be told it, right? He took Chise's hand, and with a comforting squeeze, started to lead her back to the information kiosk at the entrance.

She went and did it now, making a fool of herself in public! She probably ruined this date with her stupid outburst...but it wasn't like she was lying! She could never love anything more than Haruto...well, maybe her parents, but that was normal! Chise sheepishly followed Haruto into the next room with the manatees, hoping that seeing her good friend Henry would change the mood from embarrassing to light hearted once more. Sadly, though, as Chise approached the tank, she couldn't spot Henry anywhere swimming around. For a matter of fact, she couldn't see any manatees in the tank. Did they get rid of the manatees and not replace their exhibit with something else? As if sensing the sadness radiating from Chise, she felt Haruto wrap his arm around her after asking if her friend was there. She turned to him and shook her head, quite saddened by the fact the manatees weren't there. First her embarrassing outburst, now her feeling sad because of the manatees, how much more could she ruin the date for them? Thankfully, Haruto, being the kind and considerate person that he was, offered to head over to the main desk and ask about them, seeing if the exhibit was truly gone or not. Chise softly nodded, grateful that Haruto put up with her and her silly wishes.
The two lovebirds strolled up to the main desk once more, inquiring about the manatee exhibit. "E-Excuse me, ma'am, I hate to bother you but may I ask you a quick question?" the redhead asked, trying not to seem completely upset as she spoke, "...I was just wondering if the manatees in the manatee exhibit were still here." Chise lightly squeezed Haruto's hand, bracing herself for the worst. The brunette working at the main desk smiled and turned back to her desk to check something really fast before turning back to Chise and Haruto and answering her question. "Ah it's no problem at all miss! It looks like its the manatees feeding time right now but if you come back later I promise they'll be back in their tank," the worker responded with a friendly grin. Chise's mood instantly changed, her sadness fading away and turning to happiness once more. She turned to Haruto and grinned, "The manatees are here after all, they're just on their lunch break. Maybe Henry is still here after all!" she said with a small chuckle before turning back to the brunette sitting at the main desk. "Thank you so much for your help, I greatly appreciate it!" the peach haired girl said with a small bow before walking back with Haruto into the aquarium with a small spring in her step, starting back at the large main tank they started at.
The violet eyed girl turned back to Haruto and spoke up, "Ne Haruto, did you want to keep exploring the aquarium or did you want to take a small break for lunch?" she asked, pulling out her phone to check the time super quick before putting her phone away, not wanting to seem rude by being on her phone during their date. "I'm fine with whatever you would like to do!" she said with a warm smile, a natural rosy tint to her cheeks.

Haruto let out a sigh of relief at the answer. Returning Chise's grin, "Isn't that great, Chise? We'll just have to come back to see Henry later. Having feared the worst, it was a relief to hear that Henry was alright. Turning to the receptionist, "Thank you very much. He looked forward to seeing Chise's friend! Of course, speaking of mealtimes, Chise was suggesting that they themselves get a bite to eat. Checking his own phone, Haruto tended to agree. "Sure, we can have lunch. I suspect Henry will be back out by the time we're finished, too!" He stepped aside so others could get to the desk.
"Ah, it looks like they have a cafeteria. It's this way, and it looks like they have some tanks there so you can watch the fish while you eat!" Of course, he had the bentos he had made, so it wasn't as though they would be eating the inevitably overpriced cafeteria food... But, wanting to surprise her, Haruto wouldn't bring that up for now.
Leading the way to the cafeteria, Haruto would lead Chise to one of the tables instead of to the restaurant. If she expressed any confusion about this- Well, the sight of two neatly wrapped boxes would answer any questions she had. "I, uh, got a bit excited, so, I made lunches for us." He hoped he hadn't overstepped- Perhaps Chise wanted to eat at a restaurant? But... He had some confidence in his cooking, so, he wanted to show off a bit for Chise!
However, in hindsight, they were on a date, so... Perhaps, going out of their way to eat somewhere nicer may have been expected... Haruto couldn't help but get nervous and worry that he'd made a mistake. Nervously fidgeting, he waited for Chise's reaction. Of course, he almost certainly had no reason to be nervous, and was simply overthinking things. Obviously, he would relax once he heard that Chise was happy with what he had made.
Ah, but in his haste to pack, he had made one oversight. "Oh, but we'll need drinks! Wait here, I'll go grab some. Do you have a preference?" Once Chise had told him what she wanted, Haruto would make his way over to the vending machines. However, as he was buying their drinks, the white-haired boy would feel a tap on his shoulder. Making the logical assumption that it was Chise, Haruto would turn around to see what she needed- However, the person before his eyes, was most certainly not his girlfriend!

Hearing the manatees were still here brought Chise's mood back up, no longer would she be a sad sack of potatoes but a happy ray of sunshine once more. She walked away from the front desk with a warm smile on her face, following Haruto to the large center tank once more, discussing what their next plan of action should be. Hearing Haruto agree to lunch, Chise headed with Haruto to the aforementioned cafeteria. If they took a small break, they might get to see Henry once they were done! She had never even thought they would put fish tanks in a cafeteria, wouldn't the fish get traumatized if they saw people eating their own kind? As they headed toward the cafeteria, Chise couldn't help but speak up, "I would think they have a food court down here for patrons to eat at. I'm not too picky. We can look around and see what they have and decide from there if that is alright with you." Although she asked her question, it seemed all Haruto could respond with was a nod, at least he didn't ignore her question.
Arriving in the decently sized cafeteria, Chise looked around at the different vendors, deciding which would be a good place to eat. Before she went to a vendor, however, Haruto led her over to one of the vacant two person tables. Ah, getting a table first was probably smart in case the cafeteria filled up and they were left with full trays but nowhere to sit. Chise took a seat across from Haruto, setting her bag next to her and opening it up, until Haruto pulled out something from his own bag, two things rather. It seemed the reason he was late was because he had prepared them some lunches in cute bento boxes. The peach haired girl's eyes lit up, the gesture being way too nice! "That was really sweet of you Haruto. Thank you," Chise said with a nice tint of red on her cheeks, smiling up at her white haired lover. "I'm always excited to eat your cooking," the violet eyed girl said with a small chuckle before opening the bento box to reveal the delicious looking lunch inside. He even made her those cute octopi hot dogs, one of her favorites! Chise swallowed the puddle of drool already forming in her mouth at the sight of a homemade box of bento right before her eyes. She eagerly clapped her hands together and spoke up, "Itadakimasu!" before digging into her lunch with her chopsticks.
Soft noises of bliss left the shorter girl as she enjoyed her lunch...perhaps a bit too much. Could she really help it though? Her boyfriend was the best when it came to cooking! As she was greedily eating her bento, Haruto got up and said he would go and get them some drinks since he had forgotten to pack in his rushed state this morning. How nice of him! The class president swallowed her bite of food and wiped her lips before telling Haruto what she would like to drink, "Ah if they have green tea or mango juice I'll take either. If not, then something sweet and not carbonated please." She watched Haruto walk off to the vending machines before turning back to her bento and continuing to savor the yummy food Haruto made especially for the two of them. She didn't notice any hot dog octopi in Haruto's bento...perhaps she should feed him one? The thought alone brought a warm feeling to Chise's cheeks, remembering the last time they tried that and where it led to.
As Haruto was getting him and his wonderful girlfriend something to drink, a young girl with green twintails was also grabbing herself something to drink. She rummaged through her wallet and pulled out some money but found she was 300 yen short. She turned to the person in front of her, which so happened to be Haruto, and tapped him on the shoulder. "Ne, you wouldn't happen to have an extra 300 yen would you? I'm a little short," she asked, silently hoping this white haired boy would be her money savior. She looked up at him as he turned around, a smile on her face as she watched him dig into his wallet for the yen she needed. The green haired girl noticed his ID in his wallet and couldn't help but speak up, "U.A. huh? Must be nice. I tried applying there as well but didn't make it in, although I was put on a waitlist for next year," She said looking back up at him, leaning in just a bit as if trying to examine Haruto, "Ne, so what's your quirk? How did a handsome guy like yourself get into such a good school like U.A.? You have to tell me your secrets?" she said, a bit too close than one should be when talking.
Chise put her chopsticks down, not wanting to eat the rest of her bento while Haruto was away. It wouldn't be fair to him. As she was waiting for him to return, she turned her head and noticed him and what appeared to be another girl chit chatting over by the vending machines, getting way too close to him. Chise frowned and furrowed her brows, if this girl was trying to steal Haruto away from her, she had another thing coming. The now furious redhead stood up from her seat and went over to the vending machines as well, going to prove a point to the clueless greenette. Chise walked over to them at first but when she got closer, she called out to him, "Ah Haruto, do you need any help? I shouldn't have made you get them both!" she said, wrapping her arms around his right arm and pressing her chest against Haruto, her breasts almost enveloping the entirety of his appendage. She looked up at him with a semi-worried expression on her face, trying to mask the slight irritation the green haired girl was giving her. "Here, let me carry my drink. No, let me carry both of them. It's the least I could do since you paid for both of them," She said, standing on her tippy toes and placing a small kiss on his lips before taking the drinks from his hands. "Thank you Haruto~" she said with a loving smile in Haruto's voice before turning and walking back to her table with Haruto following behind her, a deep tinge of red on his cheeks. No one was going to steal Haruto away from her, not that green haired girl, not anyone. It was kinda fun to put on an act like that though! Chise grinned to herself as she sat down with Haruto once more, drinks now in hand. The greenette stared with a shocked expression at the red haired girl and the white haired boy walking back to their table. What...what was that exactly?

It was unexpected, but Haruto didn't mind all that much. Fishing a few coins out of his wallet, Haruto would pass them to the twintailed girl. It never heart to be kind, after all, and at that amount, he could afford it. However, while the interaction should have ended there, the girl seemed to have noticed something, as she kept up the conversation. "Hmm? How'd you- Ah, nevermind." Haruto chose to ignore that the girl somehow knew his school while he was in casual clothes. "Is that so? That's unfortunate. Are you planning to wait the year?" Haruto allowed some small talk as he bought a green tea for Chise.
Suddenly the girl moved in closer. Haruto took a step back. "Eh? Handso- No, uh, my quirk is, purification. I can absorb toxins." Unclear of what she was thinking, he didn't go into much detail. Why did she keep getting closer!? "I, uh- I have to-" As he was trying to explain that he had to return to his girlfriend, he heard a voice from behind. He practically sighed with relief when he heard it. Only to tense up even more at the unexpected soft sensation on his side. "E-eh?" Haruto couldn't help but exclaim, although he did try his best to ignore the pressure on his arm.
Of course, his fluster only got worse as he was swiftly pulled down for a kiss- Just that his lips were, shall we say, sealed, and thus it was not shown as much. And by the time the two sets of lips parted, Haruto found that... He simply did not feel as flustered as he would expect. As surprising as it had been,he was surprisingly calm about it. "Of course, Chise. I'm just sorry for making you come get me!" He then turned to the girl and bowed in apology. "I wish you the best of luck with your exams." If he understood that she'd been hitting on him, he at the least, did not show it, so as to not rub salt in her wounds.
As the two lovebirds returned to their table, Haruto finally let out the sigh he'd been holding. "Ahhhh- That surprised me! For someone I just met to be so forward... How did she even know I was a UA student, anyways? Thanks for the save, Chise!" Although, thinking about the method by which Chise calmed him down- Haruto couldn't help but feel a blush creeping on his face. "You, really, you didn't have to go that far, though! I know you're self conscious about your quirk, so I've been holding back... Even without, that, we could have-"

A soft, content sigh left the redhead's lips once she sat down once more, now able to finish the bento her lovely boyfriend had prepared for her. She set both of their drinks down on the table before picking her chopsticks once more, ready to dig into the rest of her bento...until Haruto had spoken up, inquiring about what she did to break him free from the situation. She blinked and looked over to him, setting her chopsticks down before speaking up in response, "...I felt there wouldn't have been another way to get you out of there lest I did that. I know my quirk is embarrassing, but I've been learning to embrace it lately. It's not like I'm getting a replacement quirk anyway so why not use the one I was given," she said before popping a hot dog octopus into her mouth. She wiped her mouth once before speaking up again, "I've disregarded my quirk ever since I could remember...but now...I want to learn to embrace it. I want to get stronger alongside of making my quirk stronger. If there is even the possibility that I can strengthen my quirk, I want to try out that possibility even if it may seem difficult or out of the way. Although, I don't even know what sorts of possibilities are out there to help me strengthen my quirk."
Chise took a sip of her green tea, thinking about her own question before turning back to Haruto with wide eyes and an idea in mind, "Perhaps you could help me Haruto! Since my quirk involves lip contact, perhaps the length of contact or something along the lines of that is the key to making my quirk stronger! What I'm saying is, I need you to be my partner to help me with my quirk! I don't know if I'd be able to ask anyone else...I'm not as close with any of the other students as I am with you," Chise said, cheeks nice and rosy and a bright smile adorning her face. Her smile faltered slightly as she thought about forcing Haruto to help her, "W-Well...only if you would want to. I...I wouldn't want to force you to help if you didn't want to," she said, twirling a few strands of hair out of habit. Chise bit her lip and stared down into her lap, her mind racing, thinking of the possibilities Haruto could say in response to her idea of training her quirk. Maybe her idea was silly after all. How could she even think of making her quirk stronger? She was basically a one trick pony with her quirk!

"I see." Haruto replied. He had noticed it before... But, Chise really was strong, wasn't she? Haruto couldn't help but feel ashamed- Here Chise had learned to embrace the quirk which she had found so awkward in the past, but what about him? Instead of embracing it, he'd avoided it, tried to hide from it. He hadn't even tried to find out what Chise thought of it. "I'm sorry," Harito would apologize. "All this time, I'd been treating you like this... I never even tried to ask you how you felt. I'm sorry!" As her boyfriend, how could he have ignored his girlfriend's feelings like this!? Were his feelings for her only that deep?
He could only work to atone for his oversight in the future. The first step to solving a problem was admitting that he had one, and his blindness to Chise's feelings was easily the largest problem he'd had yet! "That said, I can't say I don't know how you feel. At, the- Well, the military camp," It was a rough subject- It hadn't been an easy night for either of them, and even now it was still hard to talk about. "I, uh... Before the, you know. I went there to learn more about my quirk, initially. Hearing that it might be possible to make it stronger... Well, in the end it worked out, but... Seriously, what was I thinking?" To train his quirk, Haruto had taken to dousing himself in toxic chemicals, even drinking them so that his quirk might get to work faster. If Chise had seen him, there was no way she would have approved of such recklessness! "Well, in the end it worked out, so it's fine... But seriously, I understand wanting to try, for even a glimmer of hope." Haruto explained.
However, what he wasn't expecting was Chise's next statement. The white haired boy turned bright red at the implication of the question. I-i-i-i-i- I..." Haruto took a moment to calem himself. "I, umm... Of course I want to!" Haruto exclaimed with perhaps more force than intended. For Chise's sake, or so he'd told himself, he had been holding back... But the truth was, he really wanted to kiss her! To feel her lips against his, like before! Even if it wasn't in the name of practicing Chise's quirk! Would she think he was a pervert if he said those thoughts aloud? He certainly thought of himself as one for it.
"I, I mean... If you'll have me, then I'll be in your care." Haruto said, much more politely, his face even brighter red. To be talking about such things in public, the innocent boy was simply not comfortable! However, in the corner of his mind, a dark voice whispered. That for Chise to train her quirk meant she wanted to use it. And the method of using her quirk... Really, the idea of her kissing anyone but himself! A spark of jealousy was lit, but struck down just as quickly. Chise wasn't that kind of girl.
Right?

Chise blinked and looked over at Haruto, why was he apologizing? He didn't say or do anything wrong that would warrant an apology from the peach haired girl. It seemed Haruto was a bit mad at himself for not seeing how hard Chise was training to become stronger, seeing her as the same as she always was. The redhead in question smiled and shook her head, "There is nothing to apologize for. It's been so hard to have a few minutes to discus our private lives outside of meetings, club, and whatever else may be going on in our lives. Why don't we try promising to keep in touch more often starting today. The least we could do, even if we cannot spend any physical time together outside of school, is to update the other at least once a week on how they are. Does that sound like a fair plan?" Chise asked before taking a sip of her green tea.
As she placed her drink down, she heard Haruto begin mentioning the military camp once more. Ah, one of the darkest moments in their high school lives. She hoped they wouldn't have to bring it back up, but it's not like she could just make what happen go away. They both had their scars from the event, both physical and mental. Chise's smile faltered some, just hearing the mention of the camp. "Perhaps, if I could be of any use, I could help you train with your quirk as well? I'm not sure what kind of training you did at the camp...but I want to be of as much help as I can on your journey to become stronger," Chise said, her smile coming back as she softly cheered her boyfriend on, wanting to be with him every step of the way...at least starting now.
Chise had to stifle a chuckle, seeing Haruto get so flustered over her simple question, not really thinking of the implications of it right away. She had to resist the urge to take a picture of him, so cute! She was glad to hear he was on board with her plan, wanting to help her train her quirk...her quirk...that involved kissing. Thinking about it a bit more, the violet eyed girl felt her cheeks heat up to a nice bright red, her smile never leaving her face as she looked down at the table, twirling a strand of hair out of habit. Was this really a good idea after all? It seemed there was not going back now after he had already agreed to help her. "A-Ahhh alright then. W-We'll just have to plan a day when we are both free to train. I-Is that alright with you?" Chise asked, finishing her last hot dog octopus and the last of Haruto's homemade bento.
Seeing as both of them were finished with their bentos after a bit more idle chatter, the peach haired girl stood up and stretched her arms over her head, hearing her back pop a few times before packing the bento box back up. "Thank you again for making lunch Haruto. I'll have to make lunch the next time we go on a date. It'd only be fair," she said with a nod and confident smile. "For now, let's head back to the manatee exhibit. Hopefully Henry is there now!" Chise said with the excitement of that of a little kid, making sure their table was cleaned off before she threw her trash out and grabbed Haruto's hand once more that day, leading him off to the manatee exhibit once more.
With a quick walk from the cafeteria to the manatee exhibit, Chise dashed right in, her eyes glimmering wide as she saw the manatees swimming around in the large tank. She pressed her face close to the glass to see if she could spot Henry and to her surprise, he was swimming up close to where she was looking in. A small squeal left the carrot haired girl's lips as she quickly pulled out her phone, wanting to get a few pictures of Henry and perhaps even a selfie of her and Henry together if he would cooperate. "It's been a long time, old friend," she said softly, preparing her camera to take as many pictures as she could while Henry was in view.

"I suppose you're right. Perhaps I'm just overthinking things... But, I'd like that very much." Haruto already did try to keep in touch with Chise, but... Really, no matter how much he did so, it would never be enough. Of course, the two obviously spoke more often than once a week already- But it was never much of substance. A good morning, a how are you, some sweet nothings that would make any outsider cough up blood to read... Nothing of especial substance. In short, this would be a rather more substantial communication. Hopefully enough that Haruto never felt out of touch like this again!
As they spoke about quirks, Chise offered to help Haruto train his, as he was willing to help train hers. Sure, although... Well, I have to admit I'm not sure what direction my training will take from here on out, but I'd be happy to have your help with it!" Although somehow, he had the feeling that Chise would not approve of his training by chugging poison like a glass of cold water... Yeah. perhaps that one was best left in his dark history. Along with those earrings he had worn when he first moved to Mustafu. Yep, all in the dark history now. Best not to mention it again. Ever,
Gradually, Chise's face grew to be as red as his own. Both looking anywhere but at each other, "Yeah, um. I'll, uh, let you know when I'm free. Later." Haruto said mechanically. Oh heavens, this was a terrible idea. There was no way this would end well. But despite every nerve in his brain telling him so, a more convincing one reminded him that this was his chance to spend what was likely a whole afternoon doing nothing but kissing Chise.
As is the case for many gentlemen of his age, common sense was unable to prevail. If his face could get any redder, it certainly would- and the boy did not even notice the last of his lunch being taken from him. Not that he'd begrudge a bite of tempura to his lady love, of course. He didn't know how Chise was keeping herself so collected! However, her ability to recover from embarrassment was infectious, and soon the white-haired lad was even able to look into her eyes without turning bright pink.
"Oh really, it was no trouble at all! I just wanted to surprise you... Although, in hindsight... I hope you hadn't been hoping to eat out while we were in Tokyo. I didn't even think about that when I was making them. I just..." He was unable to finish his sentence- He just wanted Chise to eat the bento he had cooked. Ahem, but that aside. "Of course! We've taken so long eating, I'm sure he must be done by now!"
His face tinged red when she grabbed his hand again- But compared to their earlier conversation, he found it nowhere near as embarassing, and let out a slight chuckle at how silly he had been earlier.
The two soon arrived back at the manatee exhibit. Seeing how happy Chise was upon seeing her old manatee friend, Haruto's heart soared. Just for this, it had been worth taking Chise out today. "Hello, Henry," Haruto said, only feeling slightly ridiculous for talking to a manatee. "Thank you for being Chise's friend until now." Perhaps it was silly to speak so seriously to an animal in an aquarium, but it was truly how Haruto felt. Anything able to bring such a smile to Chise's face was worthy of his respect.
Much, much later, Haruto and chise would have covered about as much ground as they could in the aquarium. "Oh, I'm tired!" Haruto would exclaim, letting out a big yawn. "What time is it?" The answer, of course, was quite late. "I suppose we'd better leave if we want to catch the train before it stops running for the night... I wish we could go through the whole thing another time, though! I guess we'll just have to come back to do that." Haruto said, with some disappointment in his voice. "Thank you for coming out with me on such short notice. I've had a wonderful time." Saying this, Haruto would give Chise a kiss on the forehead- It was right on the same level as his lips, and was much less embarrassing than if he were to kiss her on the lips in public!
