It seemed that there were a few things that Elise learned today: The first one was that villains like Thunder Shock and the masked 'Reaper' were doing an excellent job at stirring her more negative feelings. Anger surged up within her as she wanted to do nothing more than lash back verbally at the villain and correct him, to reveal that her quirk didn't just heal people, it also purified and regenerated damage and as such given time she was confident the soldier would make a full recovery. She wasn't going to cause him to turn into a vegetable... The second part was the knowledge that she had obtained today: that it was foolish for idiots like the villains in her presence to be capable of sticking to a strategy.
Thunder shock charged into the armory with the typical bravado of a fool, and while he did succeed in zapping the machine, rather than the plan to overcharge their suits to the point of disabling them, the man actually gave the enemies a power boost! Of course, Elise didn't have a means to confirm this, but the fact the suits were still functioning made it clear that either her plan had failed, or Thunder Shock had ruined it, and there was no doubt that it was the latter.
Fortunately for her Tetsuko had decided to stick to the plan, and it was there that Elise found a certain degree of comfort, to know that there was at least one competent ally she had to rely on: Yay for iron-blooded waifus! Still, it appeared that Tetsuko would be in a fair amount of danger herself, for as she moved along the wall in an attempt to rescue the engineer she had spotted earlier, one of the soldiers noticed her and approached with the intention to tackle her! It was right around the same time this was happening that Elise felt her body instinctively move. It was true, she had been struggling with suppressing her hatred for Thunder Shock, but if there was one thing she never suppressed, then it was her immense love and adoration for the girl that was being attacked currently. Whether the blow would land against Tetsuko or not, Elise would quickly dart behind the cover of some of the crates. If she had seen right, the fact that there was a crate with Armor Piercing shells suggested that there might have been some weapons within the armory which she could use against those armored soldiers, however, if she didn't find it right away among the crates Elise would consider it time to take action.
Drawing the gun from her holster the burgundy-haired lass took aim: Where to fire? If she aimed carefully the head could easily lead to a single clean shot which could eliminate the man threatening Tetsuko, yet at the same time it would expose them to two different problems: Elise would have killed a man, and Tetsuko would had been exposed to the sight of her lover staining her hands with the blood of another. Could she really allow Tetsuko to be burdened with such a thing?
Gritting her teeth she did the next best thing she could thing of: The exoskeletons of the soldiers weren't perfect, and similar to medieval plate armor, there was likely less coverage at the joints. Even if the exoskeletons might make them more powerful, it were still human beings wearing them, and she expected that Tetsuko could likely make some distance between herself and the soldier, and so she acted.
BANG BANG!
Recalling Touma's warning about the risk of recoil with extended firing Elise had opted for two precision shots, one aimed at the elbow of the armored Sawada, and the other shot aimed at the least armored part of the man's leg, hoping to disable him. Her eyes narrowed into a glare as she hoped the shots would have at least disabled the soldier, but if not it was clear her next shot was aimed at his head.
"Disengage your exoskeletons and surrender at once! I can assure you: Kobayashi Touma ensured that with his training I won't miss a headshot, even with your enhanced speed.." A threat for sure, but one which clearly wasn't misfounded judging from her precise shots. Now hopefully it would give Tetsuko the opportunity to render the soldier unconcious and free the engineer. In the worst case she would have provoked both soldiers into attacking her, and while she knew Tetsuko would keep one of them at bay, she doubted Reaper and Thunder Shock would be any merrit for her protection.
Where was a reliable teacher when you needed one? Ah wait, there was one with them, now if only he had been spurred into motion! "Don't worry Yoshida-san, we'll get you out of there in a moment." Elise answered him reassuringly as she turned her gaze from Sawada to Kishida. Two trained soldiers, no doubt special forces, but would they care more about their orders than the survival of their comrades?
"Don't make me repeat myself..." Elise muttered with a low threatening growl as she prepared to pull the trigger: If one of them would as much as move in the slightest? It would become a contest to see whether the exoskeletons would move faster than a flying bullet and her trained precision skill!
It was rather fortunate that she had picked up a gun earlier, since she doubted her sniper rifle would had been able to penetrate them. After all, Freyja relied on beefed up airsoft ammunition and as such would had been inferior to the actual weapon she was holding right now. Still, perhaps her arrival could also be a boon for the villains, if she had distracted the two soldiers they might be able to strike at Kishida, who knows?
Although, something told her that the conclusion of this skirmish might be reached quite soon. God knew she wanted to get the hell out of this place, but not before... no not before 'that' was dealt with.

now THIS was a fight! unfortunately things hadn't gone to plan and the suit just became super charged because of Thunder's quirk...now it made sense why it didn't work, it's like these things were meant to keep him under control in the likely event he escaped...like this exact situation... Julen rarely doubted thunder's intelligence but this was one of those rare moments. He managed to do a quick sweep with his scythe however the now super charged suit made it easy for the enemy to dodge the blade's edge much to Julen's surprise. "What the hell?"
After Julen's failed attack the soldier did a quick slice to Julen's rib, he instinctively moved backwards to try and dodge the hit but the soldier proved to be too fast for the reaper to keep up. The blade managed to reach to Julen's body and sliced a wound open, Julen reeled from the pain and fell back a bit, he placed his hand over the fresh wound to try and stop the bleeding from getting any worse but it proved to be inefficient since julen lacked any knowledge of managing wounds. As the blood began to leak out a bit he reeled back from the pain and fell onto his ass. He never managed to even finish shaping the bow so it went back to it's scythe form and clanged making a metallic like sound echo through the room onto the floor. He managed to see where the soldier was going next, he was aiming for Thundershock! Over Julen's dead body would he let the dog soldier kill the head of his family.
Now that stupid mechanical dog was going after thunder now that Julen had been weakened from the slicing attack. Julen was not willing to trust his own aim with a gun, however with a bow that's a different story. He grabbed the scythe and shaped it into the bow, he tried his best to sit up. He then proceeded to fire 3 arrows at the enemy leaping after thunder, his tattoos began to sting signaling to him that his quirk was going to end soon, he could only keep it up for a small amount of time. "Fuck, that really hurt you shit. I hope your good at cauterizing wounds old man." he said between his gasp's for air. It was only in the aftermath did Julen realize that he had focused all his attention on the soldier attacking thunder, he pulled out his pistol and was prepping it to use as a self defense method should the soldier decide to come finish off the reaper.

"Oh yeah, go wild" Thunder called out to Julen once he would launch his attack. The discharged lightning would fry the circuitry no problem, but he could easily feel the force of that electricity travel through the cable to the suits, confirming that these things could still feed off of his quirk. However, instead of frowning and cursing what would seem to be his stupidity, an excited, devilish, grin appeared on his face. Imagine, a suit that used his quirk to power, a suit that could double his strength and speed, one that didn't need a ridiculous battery pack or charging station because it could just feed off of his quirk... This would be one hell of an addition to his arsenal! It just confirmed to him that he wanted this even more than he first thought!
'A weapon like that combined with my quirk, or even the kids quirks... fuck me Japan will be mine in a heartbeat.' He thought to himself maliciously, his eyes following the trail of electricity and finding himself eye to eye with Kishida. It wasn't long after that that Kishida sprang into action, engaging Julen who had been about to shoot at the two soldiers with his bow. Although Kishida moved so fast that Julen didn't even stand a chance as he was sliced into and left t die from his injuries before bolting it just as fast from his strike against Julen and aiming to stab Thunder in the face.
The man just scoffed as he reached by bringing both hands up towards the blade, letting it get dangerously close to his face before his left hand grabbed the hilt of the blade while his right wrist pushed against that of Kishida's, shoving his arm away from his face before grabbing onto his wrist tightly and holding him there... although not without great effort... his own MMA training was really being put to the test as his strength was challenged by the enhanced strength of this suit... that much was visible by the trembling in Thunder's arms as he attempted to keep Kishida still.
As the soldier swept his foot towards Thunders though, the bulky villain would slide his leg forward between Kishida's own, widening his stance as the sweep served to only make Thundershock stumble. He still refused to let Kishida's blade go, a cruel smirk crossing his features as electricity started dancing around his body.
"I think your suits running out of juice, let's see just how much your little battery can take! HYAAAAA" And with that, the small bits of dancing electricity seemed to explode around him in a brilliant flash of golden light, the lightning's electrical discharge amping up to the absolute maximum that ThunderShock could reach, using every bit of his Quirks energy to either overload the suit, or electrocute Kishida and cook him inside of it.

Post by Tetsuko Shindou on Nov 12, 2018 5:26:28 GMT -4
The plan went South pretty damn quickly, as Thunder's Quirk wasn't enough to fry the suits, yet was more than enough to charge them up and reduce their options drastically. The group of Heroes and Villains was left with a single option left, and that was to fight the Exo-Suits head-on. The risk of bloodshed had increased dramatically, and the stress that came with a failing strategy threatened to crush Tetsuko under its weight, but the Shindou girl pressed on to follow through with what remained of Elise's plan. Making her dash for the wall, the Shindou girl had hoped to have the backing of her teacher to distract the soldier, but had evidently made a blunder in leaving herself open while doing this. She didn't exactly have much room to dodge, after all, and it didn't look like her teacher was available at the moment.
The young swordswoman wasn't at all educated on technology or hardware, but her time at the armory alongside Elise had her already envisioning what capabilities these Exo-Suits might grant. Yet, all her expectations were set to be surpassed by the raw power of these technological monsters. Their power in use was much greater than what they displayed within controlled demonstrations, after all. The man who'd spotted the now vulnerable Tetsuko, Sawada, quickly exploded towards her. Without any assistance as of yet, Tetsuko had little choice but to take his attack head-on and handle it however she could.
His speed was such that simply dodging wasn't going to be feasible, not from the position she was in. Clinging to the wall, Tetsuko was vulnerable, very much so. Even if she resolved to use armor or shield, she'd only end up crushed against the crates behind her. The pain was inevitable at this point, it was up to her to dictate the intensity of it. Making the most of her position on the wall, Tetsuko would hook her iron climbing claws into it as the shoulder charge approached, raising her other arm and steading her legs against the wall. Iron began to sprout from her arm, a strip of it emerging from across her forearm before expanding in a parallel manner to form a simple rectangular shield that curved towards the edges. This iron construct, simple and small, was formed quickly, and at the same time as Tetsuko pushed off from the wall, towards the armored shoulder headed her way with her shield held ready.
She wasn't expecting to shrug off the damage this was going to do to her shoulder and arm, but if she could at least mitigate Tetsuko hoped to make the most of her position. The Shindou girl had the advantage of her opponent using a blunt force as well, and the fact that she shoulder plate was hopefully already rounded. By leaping toward the shoulder with her shield positioned, her aim was to roll off the armored shoulder, taking the force to her joints. A dislocated shoulder was preferable to being crushed against the wall, however. If she successfully tumbled over the armored shoulder with her curved shield, Tetsuko would already feel the pain of the suits' incredible strength rocket through her arm. It was a good thing she had two. Hopefully being able to land on the ground, she'd try to roll to her feet and turn back to face her opponent.
It was around this time Elise's shots rang out, followed by her threats. Knowing this was a chance to distract them, Tetsuko didn't spare the Exo-Suit clad With one arm still working, she'd try to rush the soldier who now would have hopefully been wounded by Elise. If the timing and her tumble had been just right, she might even still be charging at his back. With her shielded arm hung somewhat loosely, she would quickly form a long, blunt iron katana in her other palm, roughly the shape and size of bokken. Her options were limited with only one hand, and with the threat of getting her arm lodged in the exo-suit or deflected by his arm and leaving her defenseless, Tetsuko quickly decided to aim a rapid and focused thrust with the hard and honed blunt blade. If she had the angle, she'd aim to strike right underneath his jaw, hopefully throwing his head back and leaving him open for a finisher. If she was at his back, she'd simply aim for the back of his head, aiming for a similar outcome.
Of course, after this, things could go any way, unfortunately, and Tetsuko had many doubts that the soldiers present were going to listen to Elise's warnings... Whether or not she had to keep fighting, the Shindou girl was more than prepared to, her teeth grit down through the pain of her shoulder and her sword hand grasping the weapon firmly as she could. She'd already failed Elise so many times today, she wouldn't let there be any more disappointments on her end.

Arata seemed to have blanked out there. Sorry about that reader. It was like, weeks had gone by in a flash and whoever piloted Arata's body had taken a vacation, or an extended coffee break. SOmething that just made the man stand there while everyone did their thing. Opened the door, went in to the room, discovered the exo suits and shit started to go down. Instead of reacting to that, he just stared for a moment at the thing while Elise started to rush in to the room. Blinking, he couldn't focus on those things, he had to focus on keeping Elise and Tetsuko safe. "Dammit!" he shouted while rushing in.
With his quirk ready to go, Arata didn't have much control over it and could only use it for one of two things. Protecting Elise and providing her with some cover, or saving some engineer that was tied up over there. He opted for his student. Not only in providing cover for Elise with one of his quirk's gloves, but hte other enveloped his left hand while he swung it upwards from his hip and thrust the fist outward toward the charging soldier. Throwing it off of his arm like a projectile while the glove suddenly started to grow in size.
As it flew, it would, in theory, collide with the soldier's body head on, and send that suit staggering back a couple of steps, while the other hand would slam down in to the ground, thumb lifted up and fingers together like a little wall for Elise to take cover behind, providing her some tactical point to use that gun from. After that, Arata would start looking for Tetsuko, keeping his yes on any soldier that came in to the area, while getting ready to rush out and run over to that engineer if he had the time to. He had to prioritize his students first and foremost. He had to make sure that they would remain safe.

Kishida’s smile widened when the villain stopped his attack inches away. He was afraid these villains would be pushover with that suit equipped, but he was delighted to see this wasn’t the case. Thunder deflected the attack smartly; he he tried to block, he would have been able to just force the blade through his neck with the the sheer strength the suit gave him. Not only that, but he reacted correctly to his sweep attempt by widening his stance and pushing his center of gravity forward, and making the most of the situation, used the opportunity for a wild close-range discharge of electricity.
While the suits could convert Thunder’s lightning into usable energy when connected to an alternator, once it was disconnected, they would be damaged by overload the same way any electric equipment would be; the portable version of that alternator wouldn’t be too hard to develop for a competent engineer, but it hadn’t been fitted on the suits themselves on account that none of their soldiers could generate electricity the way the villain could.
The end result was that Thunder’s discharge forced him to disengage. Gritting his teeth through the pain, Kishida lifted his left leg for a powerful front kick as he forcibly disengaged his knife hand from the villain’s grip, aiming to slash at his hand in the process. His movements were as quick and powerful as they had been so far, but the soldier’s expression and moment of inattention was a tell that the attack had been damaging in its own right.
Exploiting that moment of inattention, Julen finely threaded an arrow through the gaps in his armor. It wasn’t an incredible shot distance-wise, but the fact the red-headed villain could pull it off with such precision after blood had been drawn was nothing short of impressive, in both skill and dedication to its master.
An intense pain seared through Kishisa left flank -- ironically the same spot where he attacked Julen -- before another arrow flew at him. This one hadn’t been so precise and instead ricocheted off his armor before vanishing, but the third one found its mark once again. This time, Kishida had had time to turn around to see what was hitting him.
The third arrow lodged itself on his right knee, just above the rotula. The kind of shot that would force an adventurer to end his career and take a job as a city guard, and the kind of shot that does make people buck over in real life. And Kishida would have bucked over too; the pain he felt was very real and his body assumed his leg had given out, but the suit would have allowed him to keep moving around with agility despite the injury. To his surprise, however, the arrow had vanished and there was no wound, though the sharp pain lingered still, enough to numb the motor functions of his leg a little.
Sawada had his hands full as well, contending with gunshots, a giant hand and an iron bokken. First to hit him were the gunshots, which hit while he was charging at Tetsuko. However, Elise had aimed for his limbs, limbs which were currently moving at high speed; the first bullet aimed at the elbow went wide by a pinch, but the second one hit him on the knee. It ricocheted an armored part, but the impact of the bullet was still felt in the whole leg, throwing off his charge just enough that when Tetsuko popped a surprise sheet, she managed to mitigate damage to herself by throwing herself at the opponent. Her shoulder bone popped from it socket as pain rang through her arm, dislocating it.
Rolling off the shoulder that was closing in on her, the iron girl managed to diffuse the impact and absorb it into her joints as she intended. Without Elise’s shot, his tackle would have had significantly more weight behind it and Tetsuko wouldn’t have fared so well, but as it stood, she managed to roll on to her feet and stand her ground, albeit with one less arm to fight with.
Thankfully, she had more support. A giant glove flew at the soldier for a heavy punch, and as he was recovering from his own tackle, he took the full brunt of that hit, leaving Tetsuko ample time to prepare her sword and aim a quick thrust.
Recovering now from the giant fist, he only narrowly managed to avoid the blow, while Kishida recovered from Julen’s painful arrow and Thunder’s discharge. The soldiers were still very much in the fight, however, and it didn’t take them more than a couple seconds to evaluate their situation and decide on the next action. They exchanged a look and like a well-coordinated pair of strikers, they switched positions to find themselves new angles of attack.
Sawada leaped for the closest wall, landed feet first with an agile twist of the abdomen and propelled himself immediately towards the injured Julen, while Kishida sprinted low on the ground, changing directions like a slithering snake in order to aim a slice at Elise, cutting around the wall formed by Arata’s quirk.
It was clear that the pair were not just individually skilled, but had a wealth of experience working together in combination. However, the students and villains had shown that through their own cooperation, they managed to give them a run for their money. However, the lack on inter-group coordination meant that if the soldiers were left to act freely, they had a good chance of overwhelming their opponents with their high mobility tactics.
As for Yoshida, he was trying to make himself as small as possible against the wall. He only noticed now that a warm liquid was running along his leg, but he had no headspace for shame right now; it was all occupied by utter terror, with just a smidge of hope that the heroes would be able to rescue him. And hopefully, not the villains. The look he caught in Thunder’s eye when he looked at the suit told it all.

So much was happening in such a short period of time. First she was forced to watch her gunshots mostly miss their intended target. The armored soldier might had avoided her first shot, but the second one at least had ensured that his tackle had lost some of its power by setting him slightly off-balance, just enough for her lover to lessen the impact. However, the fact that she still got injured was enough for Elise to feel a familiar unpleasant sensation in her chest, anger as she prepared for her next course of action. They needed to disable those soldiers as quickly as possible, every second they spend fighting those men was another second that danger continued to hone in on them. As the giant gloved fist from their teacher struck Sawada Elise saw an opportunity to start moving, using the protective wall of Arata's hand to maneuver toward Tetsuko's direction right around the same time Sawada leaped toward the wall and their new opponent revealed itself.
The way Kishida sprinted low, albeit injured made Elise all too aware of the danger the man's knife possessed: an injured foe is often the most dangerous of them all, and Elise couldn't help but think back about her encounter with Lieutenant Hideaki Ryouta. The day the man tried to teach her the importance of the risks her lack of fear of pulling the trigger might have, but instead, it taught her something more dangerous: the ability to stay calm even when death was approaching.
"Arata-sensei, please stop that man!" Elise warned as she fired two shots, one aimed low at her approaching foe, straight for his chest while the second was aimed at his leg. Although she might had fired at him, her intention surprisingly enough was to slow down the man and force him to dodge, which hopefully would give their homeroom teacher the opportunity to pin down the encroaching foe.
Meanwhile she unloaded the remainder of her clip at the soldier, if anything just to slow down his approach while she moved over to Tetsuko's side, the best way to handle a knife was to make a swordswoman deal with it! Aware her gun was now useless she dropped the emptied firearm and tried to take shelter behind Tetsuko, whispering apologetically. "Hang on a bit longer Tetsu, I'll tend to your wounds in a moment." There was still one thing, one factor which they had yet to be able to deal with: the fact there were two soldiers inside the room, and this was a fact that didn't go unseen by Elise. Pulling out the remaining gun she had picked up from the two soldiers Arata had rendered unconscious earlier Elise took aim at the one who would least expect her to attack: Sawada who was tending to the villains! How would he react with a surprise volley of shots aimed at the unguarded areas of his backside, one bullet in particular being aimed at the back of his knee, hoping to immobilize him so the villains could finish him.
It was an intense fight for sure, and one which had already come at a too great cost in Elise's opinion, just the knowledge that Tetsuko got injured was enough to infuriate Elise, and it didn't help that the one responsible had left their fight to mess with the villains... Speaking of Tetsuko. She looked worriedly at her girlfriend, pulling a hand into her pouch to withdraw some of her healing salve, ready to apply it to Tetsuko's shoulder as soon as she could seen an opportunity.
Why aren't you aiming at their head? A question she could find herself being haunted with. It would had been much more effective for her to aim for a headshot and kill one of them, and yet so far she had yet to actually deliver a fatal shot, for someone who had preached fighting with the intention to kill, her words seemed to be contradicted by her very actions, as was evident by the fact she had saved that one soldier earlier.
Inhaling deeply the burgundy-haired lass tried to calm her nerves, knowing the answer all too well: She wanted to abandon her desire to kill, she wanted to revert back to the sweet and caring girl that Tetsuko adored so much. But was such a thing possible? Could she even abandon her desire for revenge? Revenge she sought upon the man that they were forced to work together with. She could feel it, the unpleasant pull of the gun, it almost made her hand shake as she looked from the approaching Kishida to the attacking Sawada... And then her eyes settled briefly on the villains.
What would they do once this battle was over? Tetsuko might had been injured, but so was Thunder Shock's pet. To make matters worse that Thunder Shock's presence still continued to taunt her, as if tempting for her to take the plunge. Her hand raised slightly, the gun's cold touch still clearly felt in her hand. Once they defeated those soldiers there was no doubt Thunder Shock and Julen would try to escape, possibly even with those special suits. There was no way she could possibly let a villain like Thunder Shock leave with such an invention. It would simply inflict more harm, it would give him more means of making people suffer like he had done at Tokyo's hospital.
Surely the only way to deal with this was by doing 'that', but for that she had to make a decision, and with her injured lover in front of her... Elise had to admit the choice was harder than ever to make. What would she prioritize? the safety of Tetsuko and her feelings, or her desire to avenge her father by killing the villain they were forced to work together with. Only time would likely be able to tell what type of decision Elise von Eisenberg would have taken that day. A decision which no doubt would continue to haunt her for days to come...

"How'd you like that!? You damn POG." Thunder bellowed with a sneer, his smirk plastered on his face even though such a large blast of electrical energy had really taken the wind out of him. It seemed he needed a bit more time to recover after having his quirk syphoned for so long, even with the help of his sugar pills.
Kishida reacted fast to his attack however, as soon as the electric discharge began to cause any kind of serious damage, the soldier lifted his leg to kick Thunder in the gut, using it to create distance between the two all while taking the opportunity to swipe at thunders hand with his blade. At such a close proximity, it was next to impossible for Thunder to dodge that. As a result, a large gash formed from the left side of his left wrist down to the center palm of his hand. Thunder cursed lowly as he withdrew his hand, shaking it out with a splatter of blood flying off of it and spraying the ground at his feet.
With his undamaged hand he quickly reached into his pocket, popping open the tab to his sugar pill bottle and letting it spill out into his pocket. He quickly grabbed as many as he could and shoved them in his mouth as Thunder began to move. With a new distance created between himself and Kishida, it was time for him to focus on Julen. The last thing he needed was for the kid to die on his watch. Honestly, that boy had proven himself to Thunder time and time again, and he was actually proud to have him as a son of the Kobayashi. Losing him would actually hurt Thunder, and it meant he would wreak havoc on the one at fault for hurting him. This much was obvious in the villains gaze now as he moved away from Kishida to be by Julen's side. However, just as fast as Thunder moved, so did the two military men and that put Thunder into over-drive.
Even as bullets flew by the Villain, he didn't stop, it never registered that those bullets may have been meant for him, and if they had been then surely they would have found their mark. No, instead Thunder booked it as fast as his training would let him, allowing him just enough time to place himself between Julen and Kishida, but not giving him enough time to do little else than stand there as a meat shield in an attempt to protect Julen from the soldiers wrath.
WC: 430 POG: Derogatory term for a soldier lacking combat experience.

Post by Tetsuko Shindou on Nov 18, 2018 23:09:06 GMT -4
Pain erupted from Tetsuko's shoulder as she felt it take the full force of the charging soldier. Of course, things could have been much worse if Elise's shots hadn't diminished his speed, but that didn't help with the pain whatsoever. Gritting her teeth down hard, Tetsuko landed and was provided an even wider window for attack by Arata's sudden interjection into the fight. However, much to the swordswoman's self-directed frustration, her thrust had missed its mark, leaving her to lament how she should've aimed closer to the soldier's center of mass. There was no time for self-pity, however, and she could spend as much as she needed thinking about her mistakes after she made sure they got out of this alive and well. Before she could follow up her thrust, the soldiers were in motion again, switching positions and targets in an attempt to display their cooperation. Of course, Tetsuko did know deep down that working together with the villains might improve their chances, but really, she had much more important things to worry about as she spotted Kishida rushing menacingly toward Elise von Eisenberg. Without another moment's thought, Tetsuko knew she couldn't let him get close, and bolted toward Kishida while reabsorbing her iron bokken. She was one arm down, but hadn't used much of her iron at all so far. So as things got more desperate, Tetsuko knew she could weaponize that desperation. She didn't need both arms to wield a sword; she was the sword.
With Elise's shots aiming to force the man to dodge or suffer the stopping power of those bullets, Tetsuko hoped to gain distance on the soldier as she charged towards him in time with Elise's own approach towards the Shindou girl. That wicked knife of his wouldn't get anywhere near Elise, Tetsuko would make sure of that. She would make sure she didn't fail Elise again. She would make sure she displayed the vigor and ferocity that lied dormant within her, that let her become a blade most dangerous. The Germanic girl was behind Tetsuko, though her words fell on deaf ears as Tetsuko was already still rushing toward Kishida, completely uncaring for her own bodily damage. That was entirely secondary to making sure Elise was OK. Everything was secondary to making sure Elise was OK. "Sensei, give me cover!" Tetsuko called out as she approached, looking for a bit of extra help getting in close. Charging towards the hopefully slowed and already shot Kishida, Tetsuko knew it was dangerous to approach him head-on with that knife of is, but did so anyway. A long katana forming in her right hand, as Tetsuko charged toward Kishida she'd hold it in a defensive position towards the side he held the knife in, aiming to try and deflect and his knife as she charged into an even closer range... Before dropping the blade and thrusting a palm at his chest. She had to draw out everything she had. She had to use something that would leave her with barely any iron left in her body, but something that was necessary to protect Elise. The moment her hand was thrust forth, a low utterance escaped her lips. "Juuchi Yosamu." 十千夜寒 Ten Thousand Cold Nights From her hand, from her legs, from her functioning arm, from her torso... From all over her body, blades would suddenly burst forth. The pain was great, the exertion was about what you'd expect from someone giving it their all and going beyond. These blades, though dull, would aim burst out from Tetsuko's body at Kishida's arms, legs and face, aiming in particular to strike the already sore points where Elise had hopefully shot him. Tetsuko had put herself down to the bare minimum of iron she needed to keep breathing by doing this, drawing out everything she could to unleash this hellish flurry of blades, bearing the namesake of a weapon of the cursed swordsmith himself. A dark, clear intent rose from within as the proud swordswoman let herself become nothing more than a blade, with nothing less than a purpose to protect her lord, to protect Elise, regardless of what damage might come to her own body in this desparate and powerful attack...

Alright, action was kicking off, and the quirkers and normies could easily see the skills of one another. Up until this point, Arata had only been directing those gloves of his with motions of his hands. Making it seem like he needed to conduct them with his body up until this point in combat. Whether the soldiers noticed this or not wasn't the point, the point was that, he was holding back how he could really act in a fight. He could command them with his mind, it was just to make anyone that picked up on his motions assume that he could only conduct them physically. But no, instead of that, he was rushing toward Elise's side while the gloves in the air continued to contort and move to protect his students.
"Alright, here we go!" He declared while he got as close to Elise as possible while the glove construct in front of her spun around, looking to catch Arata and scoot him along quick to the soldier that was approaching her. As soon as he was in range, he would bring his knee up to the soldier's gut or chin, linking his fingers together to swing straight down, elbows first on to the soldier's shoulder or back, followed up by smacking his hands together in one fist strike down on tot he soldier's back, looking to send the foe straight to the ground while he would protect Elise.
Meanwhile, over at Testuko's end, the glove he was commanding continued to move with her, like a mobile cover to hide behind, and when she wanted to make her move, the glove would lie flat on the floor. Going as far as to launching her for greater speed and force if she wanted to jump off of it like a platform. He could not do much but focus on the task, focus on keeping his students safe while lending them a hand, pun HEAVILY intended. He wished he had a stronger quirk right now, that he could do more, but, he needed more experience practicing with this thing.
After this, if he made it through this, he would be practicing on his quirk more than his skill with the paintbrush. He WOULD get stronger to make sure none of his students passed him up, and he could protect them all at all times of the day. This was his job.

To the soldiers’ surprise, the student and the villains quickly re-organized themselves to deal with their switch-up.
Elise didn’t loose her cool at all when she got charged by Kishida, and instead calmly aimed for his chest and leg. Side-steps weren’t enough to completely dodge the bullets this time; the first one ricocheted of the side of his chest plate and the one aimed at his leg actually found its mark. He grimaced in pain, but it didn’t seem to bother him too much as he kept going for the burgundy-haired girl. Not that anyone could see, but the suit was now pumping painkillers en masse in his body after being hit with Julen’s quirk. Plus, he was wearing an exoskeleton, a technology literally developed to help the disabled walk. His allowed him to run. And he wasn’t disabled just yet.
Then… Something happened. It certainly was a thing, as Arata heroically leaped onto his disembodied glove, sailing off to battle courageously on his handy destrier. For a moment, he looked very cool, and if there was one thing he could be commended for here, it was bravery. His plan had been to knee the soldier in the face and go off the hit to launch a combo. Maybe he estimated that Elise’s shot would distract him enough, maybe he thought it would give him the upper hand.
It was a proper no sell. The knee came from the front and its aim was obvious, as was Arata’s lack of experience in close quarters combat. With a mechanical whirr inaudible over the cacophony of battle, he raised his right hand to grab hold of the teacher’s knee before it hit, and used his enhanced strenght to throw him to the side and on a wall, fissuring it on impact. Arata landed next to the still tied-up, more terrified than ever Yoshida with probably a couple of broken bones.
What saved him from a slice on the way in is that Yoshida spied Tetsuko closing in on him in the corner of his eye, and he evaluated her as a greater threat given that she managed to survive his colleague’s charge. With Arata out of the way, Elise resumed her shots, but she could only fire wildly and for a short while before Tetsuko was upon him. He went to parry her katana expertly with his knife.
That he would disarm her so easily rang an alarm bell, and that alarm bell likely saved his life. It made him realize something was up and the katana was a decoy just in time that he could backstep away from the iron samurai’s hedgehog-like attack. Or so he tried, but the combination of the painkillers, hurt leg and the workload of having to deal with three opponents caused his back step to be a fraction of a second late. Blades pierced his right leg, the side of his abdominal muscles and his right arm, and one even managed to jam itself in his suit’s articulations, but he managed to backstep away if injured. The cuts weren’t too deep, but they sure hurt -- both his physique and his pride.
Meanwhile, Sawada had a far easier time of things. Julen was slumped on the ground, desperately trying to materalize an arrow as the soldier closed in on him. Perhaps the red-headed villain was seeing his life play before his eyes. Perhaps he was happy to lay down his life for his master.
That didn’t happen. The master in question interposed himself between Julen and Sawada, a defiant look in his eye. You’re not laying a finger on my man is what his eyes were saying. The broad-shouldered soldier cracked a smile. “Didn’t think scum could be so tight-knit.”
He was about to go in for a double kill, but something flashed on his HUD. Failure, it said, abort mission, securing the prototypes top priority. He spat on the ground. “Tsk. Kishida, you’ve seen the message. We’re bailing.”
He took a few steps back to keep his opponents in sight and get closer to his mate. Kishida’s right arm was malfunctioning due to the hit from Tetsuko, but with two men down, they still had an overwhelming physical advantage that they put to use. “We’re not leaving without a little souvenir, though. Kishida, your other arm is working, right? Let’s do that.”
Like one man, the two soldiers broke into a run towards Yoshida. Saving energy was no longer a concern, so they could display the full power of their suits; they were blisteringly fast, perhaps faster than an antelope on the run. They very quickly reached the wall.
Sawada grabbed the poor engineer with one hand and flung him on his back. He lost consciousness then. With his other hand, and mirrored by his colleague, he punched the wall with all his might.
They blew a hole in the brickwork and escaped through here, before anyone could really do anything. Thankfully, few of the debris hit Arata -- who had been blown here earlier -- and he wouldn’t be endangered more than he already was. Silence fell in the room for a few instants.
But then, the room’s occupants would hear the sounds from outside. The noise of the helicopters was gone, replaced by the sonic boom of fighter jets. They had no way of knowing it yet, but the good guys had finally arrived and were wiping out the rest of the anti-quirker rebellion. This was of course better news for the students than for Thunder and Julen, but the criminal mastermind had more than one lapdog: a few of his goons had stolen a Jeep and were driving around frantically trying to find their boss and escape before the authorities were there. No doubt they would spot him once he stepped outside, and with only Elise -- who had two patients to tend to and was still nursing a bullet wound to the leg -- to give chase, he had good chances of escaping with his ally over his shoulder; he was the least injured here, after all.
But for now, the fighting was over. Warm food and hot drinks, as well as much needed medical attention would soon be coming, whether it was in the hospital or in a seedy hideout. It had been a long day, but the students came out alive and stronger than ever.
Of course, this also applied to the villains. Which was, well, less good news.

Tetsuko's attack had, in many ways, bled herself dry. Her body was dependent on the iron within it, far more than any normal person would be. Iron was her blood, blood was her tool, that was how it worked for the girl who considered herself no less than a human blade. So the attack she'd launched had, without a doubt, been a desperate one, leaving within her body barely enough iron to keep her out of a critical condition, let alone standing and still fighting. Fortunately, her attack did its damage, piercing into the soldier and turning him into a pincushion for the wrathful and malevolent blades Tetsuko had summoned forth. As each one found its mark Tetsuko felt that cold, cruel and clear intent become even more evident. Cut. Slash. Fight. Pierce. Bleed. She was not human, she was a blade, this was her purpose, this was... An immovable intention.
Intent alone, however, was not nearly enough to defeat the enhanced soldier she was facing. The extent of those Exo Suits abilities remained beyond their grasp, to think they could truly allow even regular men to stand against those who wielded unnatural powers... As Kishida stepped backward, the blades the swordswoman had created cracked and broke off onto the floor around her, leaving only the girl herself standing there, covered in the cuts from her all-out attack, standing over her broken swords. Standing was all she was thinking to do, as her vision became blurry and lightheadedness took hold. Her skin became deathly pale, and her breathing was sparse and shallow. It was like the life itself had been sapped right out of her, which wasn't far off the mark when one considered that her 'iron' was indeed the lifeblood that let her fight on.
Just stand... That's all she had to do now, that's all she could do, stand between Kishida and Elise.
Her legs shaking and vision darkening, Tetsuko fought to stand there, staring down the other soldier until those words finally came. Her senses were becoming dull from all the exhaustion at that point, but she could at least still hear the soldier proclaim they were leaving. Cowards, running... That's all Tetsuko thought it could be. Victory, perhaps? She didn't even know, didn't care what qualified as a loss or a win. Elise was safe, her duties... Had been fulfilled. So, the moment the soldiers turned their backs on the students, Tetsuko's body went limp, collapsing onto the ground and succumbing to unconsciousness after putting so much of her being into that single attack. Her vision faded, but at the very least, she was still alive, though in desperate need of some more iron. Her mind drifted off as she was left passed out on the ground, drifting into that same familiar realm of iron and ocean...
Perhaps by now, the fog had faded... The cost of which... Was not yet known, nor was the purpose of what she'd learned this day. The cruelties of war, the truths of survival, and the dark intent that came with those who sought to hurt the ones she loved. The meaning might have struck others immediately, inspired hate or hope, but Tetsuko... Was only more confused.

"A family is a family, no matter what. Fuck with my boy and I'll fucking murder you here and now!" Thundershock growled as his body started to spark with electricity, his hands moving forward as a ball of lightning began to form in his palms, ready to blast the damn soldier into the wall and cook his corpse for daring to hurt his family. The look on Thunders face just then screamed murder, and only darkened when the soldiers suddenly backed off, retreating too fast for Thunder to fire his blast.
He could go after them, even with his injury, and try to finish them off, but then that also meant leaving Julen behind... and while the Hero's were collapsing one by one, he wasn't in any hurry to put Julen at risk again.
"BASTARDS! GET BACK HERE YOU FUCKING COWARDS!" Thunder cried out angrily, a roar escaping his lips as his body began to expel mass amounts of lightning bolts, not aiming to hit anyone in particular. His rage was guided back towards the Hero's, eyeing Elise now dangerously before his gaze shifted instead towards Tetsuko.
"You damned Hero wannabes are always getting in the damned way!!" thundershock would growl, leaning down towards Julen and placing his empty hand against the open wound. He would then focus his energy into the lightning he was discharging int Julen's skin, making sure to only cauterize the wound and not accidentally kill Julen, or hurt him more than was needed. He would then pick him up with ease, holding Julen under his arm before returning his deadly gaze towards Tetsuko and Elise.
"You're nothing more than a nuisance! Because of the lot of you, the military won today, and there will be a war. Let this be a reminder of your failure today! Never forget the difference in power here!" He yelled out at the remaining hero's, now firing off the ball of lightning he had accumulated towards Tetsuko, aiming to straight up kill her in her vulnerable moment. If he couldn't kill those military grunts and squash this anti quirkers rebellion, then he was sure as hell going to take a Hero out as compensation! They couldn't truly believe he was going to walk out of here without even attempting to kill them!

So much was happening at the same time, so much dread filled the young girl as she watched the heroes their attempt to deal with the approaching soldier. Arata recklessly attempted to overpower the exoskeleton wearing soldier, an idea that ended quite badly for their homeroom teacher as he was flung straight into the wall. "Sensei!" Elise exclaimed in surprise, but it was at that point something else happened, something which filled her with even more fear. Tetsuko lashed out at the soldier with a desperate effort to protect her, mustering all the iron inside her to become a human hedgehog, and fortunately, it had its effect, at a heavy price. The soldier was forced to retreat, injured but still alive as he and his ally breached the wall and grabbed the engineer Elise had promised to save. "Yoshida-san! Release him!" Elise cried out, but this time she knew she couldn't be reckless, with their armored frames a shot could easily be deflected and possibly hit the man she had sworn to save, and it would only become worse. The soldiers had created an escape route for Thunder Shock, but it was not one he would be gaining easily it seemed, for the injured lass stepped between the way to the passage and the villain. Her gun was raised, her finger on the trigger. "You... You won't leave. I'm going to stop you here, you'll never hurt someone else again."
She took aim, ready to fire but then, in the corner of her eyes she saw Tetsuko collapse. "Tetsu!" It was one of the worst possible decisions she was forced to make. Before her stood Thunder Shock, the man she had sworn to kill, no doubt incapable of protecting both himself and his loyal lapdog at the same time. Just one shot, one shot and she could possibly prevent him from leaving, she might had even had enough strength left to kill him.
But at the other hand there was Tetsuko, the girl had collapsed and if Elise had guessed right was in dire need of medical attention, attention that Elise could provide. It was the worst decision she had been forced to come to terms with: Revenge of protecting her lover. Ryuusei had once told her that it is futile to try to control a monster by force, and now Elise understood why. Hesitatingly she stepped to Tetsuko's side, her gun still aimed at Thunder Shock. Indeed, it was not that Elise had dominated that monster which embodied her desire for revenge, it was her love for Tetsuko which had shown itself, her lover's wellbeing the utmost priority that she would protect. "Don't you dare touching Arata-sensei or Tetsu..." the girl warned the villain but it seemed that his tolerance for their presence had run out just in the same nature as hers did, for the man yelled in frustration, as if to blame them for having allowed the soldiers to get away and the military to had won today. However, such a statement was clearly false, as fighter jets up above were hearable in the midst of an airborne assault against the helicopters which had threatened them mere moments ago. Of course, things got worse when it appeared that the villain had loyal followers of his own, minions ready to take the man and his henchman to safety.
Still, it was what followed that had been the catalyst that would inevitably make their future paths cross again one day: the man had dared to launch an attack toward Tetsuko! Her mind reacting in an overdrive Elise rushed over to Tetsuko's side, just fast enough to dive in between her lover and the lightning ball that was heading her way.
A pained scream escaped her lips as she felt her entire body being electrocuted by the current of electricity coursing through her body, collapsing next to her lover as she fell her visage turn dark. She could have sworn she heard footsteps leave, almost as if the man had considered the price paid in blood, the price she paid for the fact she had failed to kill the man.
Her mind started to feel like it slipped away into the darkness, her visage growing darker and hazier as she whispered softly "Kobayashi-sensei..."
Surely he would get here any moment now, any second the man would arrive with the rest of U.A's pro heroes and stop the villain. But then what? Was this enough? Despite being so close to Tetsuko, she couldn't feel her, couldn't see her and that terrified her.
You have every right to be frightened
She could recall the words spoken by her mentor, words that had encouraged her so much.
And yet you still want to do something. That is, Elise, the surest mark of strength in a person.
To Thunder it might had looked like he had walked away with a kill, but it seemed that the man would be in for a surprise. If the man had not turned around by now, the following thing likely would, for a faint yellowish hue came from behind him, the electrocution which should have killed her, instead provoking something else. A jolt coursed through her being as she felt her visage clearing up, and with a desperate push of effort, she pulled herself upright again, gun in hand.
To the man it would surely have been strange, the scorched top of her school uniform which had been partly destroyed by the blast had revealed a faint trace of a golden yellow hue at her chest, a small distance above her heart where a scar was formed, bit it was not blood, but some type of pink fluid dripping from it.
"THUNDAAAAAAAAAH SHOOOOOOOOOOCK!" The girl yelled in fury as she fired her gun, aimed straight at the man, and whether it would hit him or not, the moment the villain evacuated himself and his minions and the police and the rest of the reinforcements arrived Elise felt the surge of power fade from her body. Medics were approaching the hole in the armory, and with the last of her strength, she took a step toward Tetsuko, collapsing at her side as she saw the unconscious body of her lover, exhausted and injured, but still alive.
"I.... did it... I... protected you... Tetsu..." the girl whispered while she felt a sharp sting in her chest and soon her mind drifting off into a sea of darkness.
