Put on your war paint It was getting cold rather quickly or that was Hanako her own opinion. Perhaps it had something to do with the way she was dressed, she had wriggled her wasp-like figure into a bodysuit and a normal looking pair of blue skinny jeans. Next time it would be smart to bring a blazer or a jacket with her just to be sure. It would be only too annoying to do that and walk with that jacket all the time over her arm or feel sweaty because she would wear it. Her heels made a clicking sound on the small paved path that guided her through the park, she had wanted to meet at an open place where there would be people and yet not too many all the time. So she had suggested the park, where there were benches, even a cafe somewhere in the middle or the small looking white gazebos where you could sit. She had brought some drinks with her, some food that she had just bought so the little petit macrons and biscuits were fresh and the best. The thing was that she did not like the way the other reporters did the interviews, and that's something she had to work out better. If she would ask people for an interview, people would expect to have an interview in the metropolitan but dammit she was Lady Scandal, they would be in the gossip column and she would be busted as the person that wrote that. There was no such thing as a hidden hero or villain identity because she was not like that and it was not needed. So it was a bit of acting and a bit of talking and getting her job done, twice. She was already asked for another magazine to write a column about her daily life, perhaps she should use that. She could make a combination, save this for later and randomly post it in the Metropolitan while using her own column to just write about it today. Perhaps, it was not even smart to combine two jobs at the same time but the writing had been easy, she wanted to do an: ask Hanako blog, but that might take too much effort from a girl who barely felt emotions because they were such a hassle. Hanako set down in the gazebo where she had made the appointment. She checked the Gossip phone, the white one, before shutting it off and hiding it back in her bag. She took her notepad and her own phone to make sure she was very much on time and to see if the person she would interview, would have no trouble finding it, she could always send a location towards him, right? How did that work with heroes anyway or well, vigilantes. She thought shortly about her friend but decided to drop that idea completely, it was better not to talk about personal things too much, although she needed that information for Lady Scandal. feel the light shining in the dark of the night | The Sunhawk sat saddling a strong branch high in a tree of the park. He kept a watchful eye out for the reporter as he took draughts from a smoke, his helmet visor lifted just enough for him to form the butt into his mouth. She had contacted him over an online forum, supposedly wanting to interview a Vigilante and get their perspective on how the world works for them. As the day started to drift to evening he spotted her, heels clicking on cobble as she strode over to a bench and set herself down. She had asked if she could meet him in a public place, and to meet him without anonymity if at all possible. “That's just not something I can do, sorry.” There was no way he could out his real self to a journalist and potentially cause harm to his friends and family.
He gave her a few moments to site as he used his quirk to torch the leftover but in his finger ‘No littering..’ he thought to himself as the filter burnt into a wisp of smoke. Leaping down he landed softly about four meters away from the bench, he had waited for her gaze to turn away from his hiding spot so as to almost appear out nowhere. Wiggling his helmet as he strode over to her he made sure the new toy he bought was in place. “It’s dangerous to assume people on the internet are who they say they are.” His voice sounded computerized and foreign, even to himself. He had purchased a toy robot with a voice modulator just for this meeting. It hadn’t been too hard to rip the machine apart and cram it into his helmet. He stood about a meter away in his full costume, technically a spare while he worked on his prototype. His gear was actually pretty simple, a black leather riding suit with his logo on the chest, a minimalistic yellow hawk over an orange sun, and a black mirrored motorcycle helmet with a matching symbol on both sides of the temples.
“How did you find out about me?” He tried not to sound menacing, despite the modulator. “I didn’t know anyone other than the police, a few heroes, and of course thugs who think I’m the boogie man knew I existed.”

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away How to make a good impact on people if she did not want to make a problem or well, that wasn't exactly a problem. After all, that was her job and she wouldn't mind doing that at all but right now she had a role to fulfil else she wouldn't get any information at all. She might not even use this for her gossip column but for the information that she wanted on quirks. She had the most shitty quirk ever, it was okay since it worked fine for her job but the fact was that she did not need it at this point. She could always save information that she would not use on her phone and she would be able to use that in a couple of weeks as she thought before. Yes, it would be better to use that later. She shook out her long blond hair and made an easy braid over her shoulder in case of a breeze, it wouldn't annoy her and she quickly switched her sunglasses for her regular glasses, which was for one more polite and for a second made it easier to write. She took her tablet and checked her phones, but she did not take any of them out of her bag, the white one did show no messages, the other one a couple that was not important for this moment and she decided to just simply put them away and she put the bag next to her on the left of the bench, between her own hip and the arm support. She looked up when she had the feeling someone was watching her and noticed Sunhawk. Well, it was obviously him considering the suit he was wearing. The symbols on the helmet and it made her slightly annoyed, but fair, she could understand that someone wouldn't want to be known. It made the idea of the use for her column impossible. Instead of showing her annoyance she had a small smile on her face, she should show gratitude, at least he showed up. Hanako unfortunately for herself, couldn't hide the surprise of the robotic voice, were they really that afraid? This guy was far ahead in the ideas of the problems of 2072. She had to resist to just roll her eyes and closed her mouth and gave him the same smile, "Well I could say a women's intuition but that's not really a satisfying answer. You would be surprised how much people would like to know about the state of the world and the well, people around to help." She tried to remove all the sarcasm from her voice but that was difficult so she hoped this guy at least had a sense of humour."You be surprised, mister Sunhawk, how much happens nowadays outside, or well perhaps you don't but people basically want to know the faces behind it. And before you say again that you can't do that, I understand. I did not consider that before, I am sorry." Though she knew faces, people would have to understand. She should ask Gil for information if he would tell her.

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | Toma chuckled and gave her a once over. She seemed harmless, but so did a lot of dangerous people. He would just have to see what her intentions were the old fashion way.
“I’m sure they do. The people deserve the truth, that much I can agree on.” Hell he wished they lived in a society where his heroics were not looked down upon like he was no better than a common criminal. “But it’s a scary place out there. There's a war coming, whether from within or from the outside, and the people need to be prepared.”
To try and humanize himself a little he gestured the the empty seat beside her, asking permission to sit so as not to freak her out. “I’m more than happy to answer your questions, if it helps to comfort the populace and let them know they aren't alone.” Hell, even he was a little scared of some of the big bad booguns that ran in the night. “But I would like to draw some lines first. You can record, whether on paper or audio, anything we discuss and have the right to publish it I’ll answer any question you have for me, so long as you don’t pry at my identity beyond the suit… Agreed?”
He held out a gloved hand, ready to shake. ‘This could actually be a good start.’ He thought to himself. ‘I could always use a contact in the media…’

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away Where she had expected some humour or something mild, she stared at him from her tablet, she had wanted to write something casual about what he said, he at least understood, "A war?" She said surprised, how could she miss something so big, a war was a big word and yet she couldn't believe. Did he mean against the state because she could understand that the legislature of making heroes was ridiculous but a war, seemed to be a bit far? "How would you say people need to prepare in that case?" She had to be professional as a writer, how else could she use these for columns or actually inform people. It was not something to take lightly even if that was her job. She would find a way to convince her boss, at least that's what she had done for the past year anyway. She looked at what Sunhawk gestured about and nodded quickly, "Oh, of course," She gave him a better smile than the last one, the robotic voice still made her shiver everytime she heard it because it did sound so inhuman and it gave her the creeps simply. Before her questions would be answered, he had rules. Oh god, it only got worse. "Of course, I wouldn't want you to get into trouble. Can I refer to your name as Sunhawk though? I mean that's what the populace will know in the end." She just decided to ask, else she would have to write this article about sources and she hated that. Everyone wanted to know who the sources were in the end. She looked up again, writing a few things down for herself, so she would know how to formulate things and noticed his hand, if he agreed on her question, she would shake the hand firmly, if he did not, she would be a bit lost in thoughts how to write this article at least a bit interesting, she could use G as a second source but that would make it only more boring. Did he actually use a name as a vigilante? She had no clue. "So back to what you first said, a war?" She couldn't help but ask, it gave her the nerves, more than the voice he used. She would throw her own blog out and fix it for the people, G must know. People... wait, she had no one to protect really. She couldn't even do much, she was just a writer and... well the populace needed to know the sooner the better. @aster words notes MADE BY VEL OF GS

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | He could tell she was nervous. ‘Maybe I came across too dark and ominous.’ He sighed and sat next to her. Every time he spoke it almost looked like she was going to flinch. ‘The voice is probably too much, it's not like she is going to recognize me anyway.’
He reached up into his helmet and pulled out the voice-modulator toy, switching it off. “Sorry about that, even I have to admit the voice thing might have been a bit much.” Ever since he let a few comrades know his identity he was a little cautious. With today's climate, not many could blame him.
“Yes…. A war, of sorts.” He turned his helmet to face her, still keeping an eye out in the waning ndaylight. “Not the kind you hear about on the news, with bombs and guns. This is something that's going to take root., burrow deep, and stick around for generations.” He knew he was basing all of this on his personal experience, but he’d had a lot of experience lately.
“Think about it. How many criminals did you know the names of just last year? How many heroes could you have named?” He helps up his gloved hand and started counting down by curling each finger. “Take it back even further, to five years ago. I could barely name any Quirkers back then, let alone pull up info on them on the web.” He waved his hand off as if to dispel some bad karma from talking about it.
“Now we have madmen attacking hospitals, so-called heroes with interviews on the news and posing for ads on TV.” He pointed to himself. “Even covert operatives like myself have no choice but to go public in some matter, if not just to dispel fear.”

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away Hanako looked surprised at Sunhawk, actually getting the voice changer away made it a lot easier to talk, still, a bit muffled in her ears probably because of the helmet or something along the lines that made sense, something she could handle. "Well, if a war is coming and you have to protect yourself, I can imagine." However, she did not imagine, she was before this absolutely not happy about it and it was a relieve it was gone now. How did the world of a vigilante work? It was not something she discussed with G before and she wasn't sure if it would come up later, her words and moments needed to be specific and when she couldn't do that, it would be forgotten by herself. Minor issues. Now that they were back on the track of speaking about the war, which was difficult to describe as he mentioned it wasn't like what most people expected with a war. Interesting to look up the dictionary for a description, but she would do that later. For generations? The first thing that popped in her mind was the racist actions that people did or thoughts they have against the quirkers, she as a quirkless had no such thought at all but she was one of a few. Before she could ask if he meant that, he would already surprise her with something and she looked shortly at her tablet and frowned. He made a good point, lately names came up and perhaps if she would finally get her nose into the business that was Yuuei she would get to know more but that was her work, last year she had just finally gotten a promotion to work harder at the Metropolitan magazine but before that, she wasn't even interested. Her fascination for quirks had always been there but now it was easier to figure things out. Now the world was changing, even if not everyone was happy about quirkers, they did accept the advertisements. "A war of some sorts and yet there is this crazy guy out there destroying hospitals, isn't he starting a war either? I mean I do agree, suddenly there are more quirkers in the news, with a title of a hero or not. Do you think the racist vibe would go away? People learning to deal with quirkers and non-quirkers?" She was curious about his opinion, right now she had not even talked much to people about it, but she had one. @aster 415 notes MADE BY VEL OF GS

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | “Thunder…” He came up everywhere. When he started this job he didn't know what he was getting into. Everything led to Thunder in the end. Drugs, Guns, Prostitutes, basically every crime was his fault in some way. Even if he wasn't directly involved he knew someone who was.
“He's not the only one you know.” A few months back Toma had heard whispers about some rich mogul who wanted to do some crazy stuff, but he went silent. “There are a lot of people out there who feel….” He paused trying to find the right word. “Disenfranchised. They feel prosecuted, they feel like the human world wants them gone.”
He turned to look at her, he knew he looked expressionless behind the helmet so he tried to keep some emotion in his voice. “And they aren't wrong. Your people…” He stopped for a second, he knew he was wrong to say it like that. “Normal people hate us. Not just the criminals but people like me too, even normal quirkers. But that's not the issue. The criminal members of our society hate one thing above all. They hate the idea that there are people out there who can stop them. People with equal or greater power than their own.”
He looked up into the evening sky. “So there will be war. The government will eventually sanction us like we are the police. They will give people like me the authority to do what needs to be done. But we need something to keep you safe from. For every Hero there will be a villain. For every symbol of peace, there will be a bed of chaos.”
He had been predicting this for months, it's why he was getting some friends together, but the prospect was still scary.

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away Hanako simply nodded, Thunder meant one thing and it was a bit of a shame to say that she was never really fascinated by the guy and just had not written any articles about him, of course not, there was no interesting gossip. No gossip that made people feel better about themselves and their egos. Thunder was a subject she avoided. She scribbled a few things down to remember sentences that were now popping up in her mind. "I never assumed so. The issue is much larger and yet what you said mentally." It was not an outright war with guns and stuff, it was the phycological idea behind it that made it a mental fight that you had to fight by yourself and yet to wonder if you would agree with one side or another. Did you have to pick sides? Sunhawk already answered what she thought, even if she was quirkless, she understood the things that they meant, she was not on the side of her people, the quirkless. It was also a reason why she kept it very much a secret. That's when she looked surprised when Sunhawk continued by saying your people. She thought he had guessed it, but she quickly shaped her face correctly again and simply arched her eyebrow as if she was the reporter she was and just, curious. She would not ask, but normal people were also possible people with a quirk that was not that interesting, being able to change clothing in colour, simple things that society would be able to use to make life easier, but not to be impressive in the way of being able to be a vigilante or a hero. She wrote down what he said, that was what she heard in bits and bots herself, the hate, the fuel of rage because of the inequality yet the massive egos of the idea of being stopped or being unstoppable. She bit her lip softly, for every hero, a villain. "Is that why there are vigilantes? No license but trying to avoid the mass of people that will stand up as a villain?" She decided to ask. "What do you think the people could do? Or for example me? I approached you for questions for society but I can write and people tend to read." She was not bound by political things, her boss did not care, hence the ease of being anonymous. She would have to wait, she would have to figure out how but there might be a catalyst sooner than she would like and she might use that moment to make a spark. @aster 438 notes MADE BY VEL OF GS
