Post by Shimizu Haruto on Oct 18, 2018 21:13:45 GMT -4
Events moved quickly, and gave Haruto little time to react. He found himself pushed towards Rin- Which, fortunately, was exactly where he wanted to be... Though, he wouldn't mind arriving with less force. To his relief, the class A president understood his meaning in an instant, slicing open her own wrist... Okay, so he winced at that part- He knew it was how her quirk worked, but did she have no qualms about self harm? To have to hurt herself every time she used her quirk... If it were Haruto, would he be able to do it? Or, would he choose to pretend he was quirkless, rather than face that pain?
But as the impurities wracked his body with pain, he realized- That he didn't actually have to ask that question, because he knew what it meant. And like Rin, he had decided- That no amount of pain would stop him from doing what his heart said he would need to do. In any case, it was astonishingly effective- The black and red fan swiftly drew the spreading toxin in, and the impurities duplicated by Rin's quirk certainly found them matching their tastes. And not a moment too soon- With the toxins removed from his vicinity, once the impurities in his body had finished what he'd already absorbed, he could begin to recover. And then, he would be able to cure the others, who had been infected, although to a lesser degree...
But the nightmare was not yet over. Which Haruto was made aware of by a pressure on his chest- Looking down to see the doctor he had tried to save. Had, almost saved. And the contact he made with Haruto drove the boy's quirk, as it attempted to pull the rest of the toxin out of the doctor's body. And Haruto wasn't about to stop it. With the toxin removed from the air, he had no considerations left- He could push himself till the brink- And if he didn't save this man now, he had a feeling he never would.
But despite his and Rin's effort's, it was too late. The pressure turned lighter, until the man collapsed. The boy barely noticed the blood staining his clothes, the wetness that seeped through his shirt. Even the pain of his quirk, pushed to it's limits, barely seemed noticeable. He was left staring at his hands. His useless, useless hands. Hands, that could not save anyone. The glazed, dead eyes of the doctor seemed to stare at him, accusing him. Asking, "Why, why didn't you save me?"
If, If Haruto had moved faster. Had reached the doctor before listing to the message... Would he have made it in time? If, if he hadn't pulled away, wouldn't he have been saved. Haruto wanted to cry. He wanted to scream. But nothing came from his mouth, except a wet retching sound as he turned and vomited on the floor. "Aaa... Aaa..." A weak sound followed. It was Shimizu Haruto's first time witnessing death, and the boy clearly was not prepared.
He didn't notice the door opening. He didn't notice the gunshot, nor Avril's screaming. He didn't notice the panic in the room. He didn't notice his vomit slowly freezing over on the ground. Everything seemed, so distant. Everything seemed, so pointless.

She had one job. That job was all that mattered. And, as she grit her teeth, the blonde lioness released explosion after explosion, trying to keep the toxins at bay long enough for either somebody to figure out what the fuck to do, or for Darren to bust the damn door down. It was made obvious very quickly, though, that the latter plan wouldn't work exactly as intended as Yumi had quickly made it moot with the sudden usage of her quirk and the subsequent expulsion of electricity of varying voltages. Jasmine cursed under her breath; she couldn't keep this up forever.
Before she knew it the gas and the toxins within had begun being condensed and pulled into a singular point. Turning over her shoulder, the blonde's lilac eyes widened at the sight of Rin and Haruto, both clearly struggling with whatever it was they were doing. She could probably figure it out, but as it stood there was no time to fucking think about it. There was mentions of an antidote - that was all that she could focus on.
The gunshot - while graced with acknowledgment in the form of Jasmine glancing in between her friends to make sure they weren't shot - was more or less met with deaf ears. Whoever screamed, whoever got shot, that didn't fucking matter. She wouldn't be able to do anything about it anyway. Rin was the healer, she could figure shit out. Jasmine, on the other hand, was the spear that came with the shield. The unstoppable missile with one singular goal - to wreak havoc and completely eradicate anything that posed a threat to her and those with her. She had very quickly resigned to this position. To the Vanguard. The Guardians had been established with this previous performance, now it was time for the fighters to step to the front line.
Jasmine wasted no time. Even before Rin had the time to shout whatever she was going on about at her and supposedly Darren, the blonde lioness had already launched herself into one of the six doors that were in the room. The large door that they came through seemed relatively unbreakable, that and there was no point in going top side. Jaz was pretty sure that wasn't where the head honcho went anyway. He was the one with the antidote, and as far as she knew this little pretentious prick was trying to play games with them.
That was fine. He'd eat his own shit sooner rather than later.
Thus, when Jasmine reached the door at the very middle after a series of very large explosions, she kicked it down with a form of dropkick, using her strength, weight, and momentum to utterly rip the door off of its hinges. The frame clanged against the ground loudly as Jasmine's boots practically bent it to its foundations before the girl, wordlessly, released yet another explosion behind her, rocketing right into that piece of shit's arms... arms that she was going to rip the fuck off.

Yumi jolted to attention as Rin called out to her, not really sure what was going on for a second in the chaos of everything, but with everyone in her immediate vicinity hitting the ground it was easy enough to focus on Rin and hear what she was saying. Nodding along and rushing along the ground, scurrying across the floor to the man who’d first went down. The recent training she’d been putting herself through had turned a lot of her aesthetic, quirk generated muscle actually translate into something more practical, dragging the man along the floor with relative ease, muttering apologies over and over as she had to drag the body through some other downed civilians in the ground, laying the body down next to Haruto. She…she didn’t really know what she was doing. She listened to the advice to perform CPR but how was she meant to prevent the living vacuum from sucking up any remaining toxins in the air.
As the chaos around her went off she had no idea what she was doing, she heard a gunshot and ducked her head low, the speakers blared again, Jaz fired off more explosions, generally everything was happening at once and somehow nothing was happening because all she could think of was her hands cupped together pressing down on this guy’s chest…but nothing was happening. Nothing. Jack. Her expression was growing frantic as she pushed herself to keep going no matter what was happening around her, but again, no reaction. No breath, no motion. If this was water in his lungs she might be getting a reaction. Maybe if she’d trained like one of the nurses once suggested to her she could use her quirk to perform a defribrilator like action, but even then her quirk was done. In desperation, an attempt to try, her body briefly sparked but she couldn’t manage to coat herself in the ’true blue’ that her fully activated quirk created. Her brow furrowed as she closed her eyes, trying to close out everything around her. Maybe she should have paid more attention to Haruto, not even realizing he was still trying to drain the toxins out of the doctor’s body even as he himself got weaker and weaker.
The chill on her skin finally brought her back to reality, as well as the retching sound of her schoolmate. Her mind couldn’t take the stimulus around her, her body stinging from the cold and her head burning as it tried to gather the reality of the situation around her. She looked to Haruto, the victims of her scared spark, the woman…l-laying dead by the door. A woman with a gun!? I…where…Jaz was gone. Where had she gone to? The shattered door gave that away pretty readily and the words from the speaker’s finally filled her head. The rooms where a way out? It was the one bit of information that felt…clear. Clean. Cut. She still couldn’t use her quirk so tackling a lady with a gun was out of the question…and what the fuck could she do for Haruto? M-maybe Rin with her blood bending could just pull the toxins out of him somehow? Y-yeah. She couldn’t tackle the gun woman, she was useless with Haruto, and only one bit of information in her head right now was clear enough to latch onto.
She looked to Haruto, and pushed off the floor. It was clear she wasn’t at all thinking straight, and she’d likely come to heavily regret this later…she barely pushed out a whisper. “I-I’m sorry…” And with that, she pushed off the floor and started running. In a last moment of clear thought she called back. “Rin Haruto’s yours!” She felt she should explain why. How she felt useless, how she was probably best testing one of these rooms rather than sitting on her knees, watching not one but two people die under her watch. Maybe in part she just didn’t wanna be there if…or when Haruto passed just so she couldn’t entirely blame it on herself. As she rushed away, she debated following Jaz, but whatever was beyond these doors she could probably handle it herself. Yumi instead focused on the leftmost door, pushing through with the force of her run and feeling her body become fully charged as the terror fuelled adrenaline rushed through her system, her skin coated in blue once again as she prepared herself for whatever lied inside the room.

A lot of things happened. First off, it looked like they wouldn’t get auschwitzed after all: 1-A’s “Evil Overlord” and the support studies nerd would see to that. Well, Haruto was mostly trying not to die while he laid on the ground uselessly, but before that he gave them a sphere of what he assumed was his quirk. Rin must have known more about it, because she didn’t hesitate to slit her own wrist -- human blood reservoir or not, it was still pretty hardcore and very rock’n’roll -- and combine her floating blood with the floating orb to create… Something. Darren’s understanding of biology was fairly limited when it wasn’t about the effects of acceleration on the human body, and even of that he only had surface knowledge, just enough to know blowing his own brains up wasn't a good idea.
Whatever it was, however it did it, it gobbled up the pink smog like a skinny girl in a competitive eating championship. For some reason, the fat guys always lost to the skinny girls, which was another thing that Darren didn’t understand about human biology. With the air cleared, breathing was no longer a concern; he’d never admit it to her face, but right then and there, he was glad the 1-A president was around. She was pretty competent when she found her backbone.
I’ll have to carry the nerd too eventually, I guess, thought the delinquent, shooting a sideways look at the half-comatose white-haired student lying on the ground. He didn’t like reaching this conclusion on bit either, but he probably would be in a lot more trouble right now if it wasn’t for the nerd and his power. Fuck, I really need to learn his name. A chill ran down his spine. And why the fuck is it getting so damn cold?
Rin even yelled at Yumi, just like he had earlier. It was an eerie feeling to find himself agreeing with her, a girl who couldn’t have been more different than him, but he had no time to ponder that. Yumi was doing that things cute girls always when things went tits up that annoyed him to no end: panicking, firing off their quirks wildly, and then as a result fumbling around uselessly and apologetically, and then of course everyone would forgive her, because people always forgave the cute girls while he had to slither away from any and all sorts of trouble he got himself into. Class pride and perhaps Alex's influence was making him a little angry here; he couldn’t believe Rin was better under pressure than their own class president. He'd have to take it upon himself to tighten her screws, thought the delinquent.
He shook these slightly sexist thoughts away. He couldn’t let himself be caught lacking now: 1-C pride demanded it. And he did so right in time to see one of the nurses scream and rush towards another, hurling insults at her supposed promiscuity and choice of younger partners. Ever the one to make a stupid joke in the worst situations, the delinquent opened his mouth: “Hey, no slut sham--”
He was interrupted by a now-familiar sound after having spent a few days on the base’s shooting range: the authoritative bang a gunshot, filling the room at once with its thunderous roar.
He swerved and changed gears from joker to fighter almost immediately. He scanned the room to find the shooter as the deep blue sparks coursed on his body and his eyes briefly caught Jaz’s on the way. They understood each other at a glance. The shooter was a woman, the nurse who walked them here. Who was she, what was she doing and why she was doing it were three questions Darren didn’t ask himself: instead, his self-preservation instincts kicked in and he tackled a bitch.
He dropped low, on his back and feet first for a football sliding tackle and propelled himself towards the armed nurse with the full power of his quirk, reaching his top speed incredibly fast. When up against a gun, it was a better idea to get down. Soldiers didn’t drop on their bellies in the face of incoming fire for the hell of it; the lower profile made aiming a shot harder, and this was even truer in the case of a delinquent who used his autokinetic superpower to suddenly launch himself into a slide aimed at your very own ankles with a decidedly unnatural motion.
Should it hit, the blondie wouldn’t lose a second. While he might sweep her off her feet, there was no guarantee she’d lose hold of her weapon, so he’d have to get on that immediately. He pivoted on his roll axis so that he would be facing the ground now, hands and feet on the ground like a sprinter in his starting block.
With a second activation that he began charging as soon as he launched himself, he killed whatever momentum he had left after the tackled to pounce on his hopefully-falling opponent. Without a trace of shame or guilt despite the few civilians filming, he’d jump on top of her and attempt to pin her down, prioritizing of course the hand which held the gun. He vaguely heard Doctor Saw expose his evil plans on loudspeaker, but he had no attention to spare. If the tackle failed, he'd instead use the charge to rotate on his yaw axis and attempt to knock her down again with a powerful sweep.
Perhaps Darren was an idiotic loudmouth who could never stop cracking jokes, but when the chips were down, he would run head-first into danger without hesitation; with abandon, even. Perhaps he did it for all the wrong reasons, chasing after his next adrenaline fix, after the fame that fed his pride or the recognition he’d never admit he craved, but he did it nonetheless.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Everywhere around the raven haired class president, things kept developing, evolving, mostly from bad to worse. In other cases from worse to downright terrible. They had managed to ressurect Pan. The doctor suddenly jerking back to life, immediately attempting to breathe. Yet, Rin knew that something was off before the doctor even managed to claim his first breath. Body convulsing in pain, his inability or unwillingness to begin speaking, the panicked look that emerged on his face. Two fingers were placed onto his chest, brushing against his skin. An expression of horror immediately visible on Rin's face. The man's chest, despite his muscles relaxing, was not raising in the may it was meant to. Despite swallowing air, his lungs were hardly receiving any oxygen. It meant that the tissue of the lungs had been damaged. In this case, to an irrecoverable degree. Rin had several ways to assist a person breathing, even if their lungs or heart weren't functioning properly, but eventually their own system needed to take over. In this situation, by connecting her own blood system to Pan's, the girl might be able to artificially keep him alive for another ten or so minutes... but even if she expended her entire energy to do so, in ten minutes, it would be the same thing all over again. They could not get the neccessary assistance for Pan. As the man tugged painfully at her hair, begging for his life with his actions and movements, Rin simply held onto him. Like a mother letting their child know, that everything was okay, that they had nothing to be afraid of. It was a gentle, calming embrace, trying to make the man's final moments more bearable... Underneath, on the floor, Haruto was absolutely freaking out. The coughing of blood, having someone you attempted to save die in front of you, immediately snapping the boy. Rin, seeing this, swallowed hard. Fingers curling into fists, as waves of emotions washed over her. So many negative thoughts being fought back. You couldn't save him. So many iterations of her own voice, blaming her for this outcome. You cannot do anything at all, you knew this. Trembling, Rin's breathing was erratic and uncontrolled, the girl was losing it. The others will die too. The coldness in the room was starting to affect Rin's fingers. Despite having several layers of cloth on her tiny frame, it simply wasn't going to be enough warmth. Especially not with this cold feeling spreading inside of her chest. They will certainly die. If you do not save them, Rin! Gasping for air, as if she had been drowning, the girl wanted to break. Wanted to give in to this emotion. Wanted to display to the world her weakness. Seeing Pan dead in her arms, Rin knew full well that they had failed once already. With Sunday dead by the door, they may have ultimately failed twice, or many times more. The civillians were currently listening to Rin's voice. They were staying huddled together in their corner, filming and talking. Yet a panic was spreading among them. If Rin gave in now, that was all that would happen. Even more panic.Dragging Pan's corpse off of Haruto, the first order of business was getting the fighting inside their room under control. Darren was dealing with the one that had just fired the gun. So, from the wound Rin had procured earlier, even more crimson liquid errupted. Since Avril and Giselle seemed fairly content with focussing mainly on each other, Rin figured she would have no issues blindsiding them with her quirk. If successful, Rin would impact her blood into their shoulders, wrap it around their upper bodies and slam them into the ground like a football player tackle. There, the blood would harden to the floor, disallowing either from utilizing their hands, essentially locking them both down. "You two, don't struggle. I'll address you both later." Rin practically barked commandingly. There was another group she absolutely needed to speak to first. Rin once again began addressing the civillians, remaining a calm, affectionate voice for them to listen to. A guiding light to follow in this bitter darkness. "Please, remain calm. I need you all to begin arranging yourself into groups. To any having trouble breathing, or showing signs of having inhaled any of the gas, please move towards the front of the group. As soon as we've secured one of the other rooms, we need to move. Calmly, slowly. We cannot stay in this cold forever." Efficiently, Rin was attempting to number the incidents she absolutely needed to deal with, in order of highest importance. First, shut down the fighting. Second,. control the group of civilians. Third, get Haruto to snap out of this horrible state of mind. Gently tugging him by the collar, Rin took a deep breath. In a fluid motion, the girl aimed to slap him across the cheek. Usually pain was a fairly good motivator to get a person to listen to what you had to say. "Haruto-san! The first thing Sophie-sensei taught us, was to remain calm and in control. If you don't snap out of it, all the civilians that were infected could get seriously hurt. Come on, we need you with us. Snap out of it!" Grunting softly, with her own state of mind being this close to the edge of breaking, she needed some kind of emotional support. Anything that she could have, what so ever. Anything, even someone to simply talk to..."Yumi-chan, could you go ---" Turning her head to look at where Yumi had just been, admist the chaos, the red head had disappeared. Rin knew that Yumi had been on the way over to help. Rin knew that Yumi had listened to what she had said and complied... Why had she abandonned Rin and Haruto?... What in the world was going on?! A headache was quickly building. From the exhaustion of bleeding multiple times, utilizing her quirk repeatedly, being emotionally stressed to her absolute breaking point, only able to hold on, because she knew the consequences if she were to somehow fail. Rin needed to get this job done. The others had trusted her to do so. On the surface, she looked calm and ready. Underneath, Rin didn't know how much more she could give.

| Tsuki & Giselle "You should just sit down..." -THE WHEEL OF FATE IS TURNING-
Darren was blisteringly fast. Not long after the shot had been fired and the corpse slumped pathetically to the ground had Nani felt her legs being swept beneath her. Eyes wide, surprised by the attack, her arm swung wildly, carrying the hefty metal weapon and bringing its barrel across Darren's head like a makeshift hammer. It cut into his face, breaking the skin on contact, and his plan stuttered. With the boy caught aback by the blow, Nani was left to land on top of him like a sack of bricks.
Tsuki was left with the foul wind of luck pushing her on. No one looked her way, sought her or even paid her notice when she slipped through a door, out of the room and away from this whole nightmare.
Rin's assault on the battling women was dreadfully successful. Even in her hurried, panicked state, she judged the force required to detain them very well. Both Giselle and Avril were shocked from the impact of the thick, copper-reeking blood and crashed to the ground helplessly. Giselle let out a pained, airless wail, something hard in her coat being shoved into her chest and easily fracturing a rib, whereas Avril only yelped when her nose squashed and pooled blood beneath her.
The civilians were not as stable. Someone had been murdered in front of them. A gun had been used to shoot a girl dead right before their eyes. Of course, there'd be some... adverse reactions. One civilian, in fact, vomited heavily onto the person that happened to occupy the space beside them. Not very pleasant for any involved. Hey, it could be worse. They could be the ones being nursed by the demon girl that used straight up BLOOD to restrain two women. Many of the civilians looked at Rin like some kind of monster, but they didn't dare call out to her. Coughing took over the crowd. But the one civilian closest to Haruto and Rin, a dark-skinned man, began to choke...

Shoru Norigami . . . The Tsuki had gotten away, running into the room just right of the one that Yumi had entered. As it fell behind her, it would find itself locked, only to secure her from getting away from them. The two students who had decided to go on by themselves would not find their prize any faster than if they had gone together. Just like the white haired nurse, Yumi's door would lock into place, the heavy pieces and bits of metal sliding into place. Before her, a long room, nearly twenty meters long would have a single door at the end of it. The room was empty, smooth, save for the vents that were on the top of the walls near the ceiling. It was a much warmer state than the large room the others were in. But as she would take a step, moving from her spot, the floor would begin to move, crumbling and falling away, being nothing more than dust. A fifteen meter long pit would be between her and the door, with various spears and spikes at the bottom of the two meter drop down. From the vents, a thick gooey substance would begin to drip down the open vents, coating the walls in a black syrup. It was not meant to harm, but rather catch the girl like flypaper. It was not a complex room, but one that required a bit of thought. It seems as if lady luck had granted the girl a simple puzzle to solve. But each moment spent thinking, was another second the civilians had to endure the drug.
In Jasmine's room, she was not as unfortunate, but those inside, were those of poor luck. Three large mutants sat there, bearing scars and wounds similar to that of the rhino from before. One a crocodile, another a panda, and the last a dog. Beside them were two normal looking people with even more severe wounds. None of them would speak when she entered the room, only to groan and wince at the sight of the light from behind the door. If she let it close behind her, it would secure itself as well, but with a quirk like hers, it would be simple to blow the locks off. In the room were three other doors, one to advance further, or to enter to the rooms beside her, that was, if she decided to do so. Rather than be presented with a puzzle that could harm her, she was presented with the choice to continue on, and leave the hostages were they were, or to take them back to the others. If she could tell the others, maybe then these people could get help, or would they die just like the other doctor?
Before the two girls, would remain another, and final test before facing the doctor in charge. But what would his little game prove? What was the point?

Post by Shimizu Haruto on Oct 27, 2018 15:10:11 GMT -4
A sharp pain snapped Haruto out of his daze. "Rin, I..." She was right. He knew it in his head, even if his heart refused to agree. Those eyes... Those cold, dead eyes. At some point, the body had been moved... But he could still feel it. Those fingers, their warmth sapped by the toxin and the cold. Those eyes. Even now, they seemed to stare deep into Haruto, asking him why. Why hadn't he done what he could have done? Why didn't he save him? Why?
But what answers could Haruto give? He heaved again, but his stomach was long since emptied. His breath misted over and floated away in front of his face. Sophie-Sensei. Right. Where was she, anyways? Why was he the one here, instead of... Instead of anyone else! If it was... If it was Elise here in his place, would the doctor have died? Why, why was he so worthless!?
But Rin's words rang true. Others... The other victims. They, unlike the doctor, they had taken much lower, lower doses... But, they still... It had taken time to clear the room. They were in trouble. And it was cold. So cold. They had to, to do something. Something Haruto could do. He could, he still had... "You, you're right. Of course. Right. I..." Haruto spoke dazedly. It was obvious, all things considered. The eyes of that man bored straight through the floor to pierce him in the back.
In short, it was trauma.
"I, I can... My quirk, these people... Not, not all at once, but, I can... Cure them, if... If we can, do some triage. Get, the worst, to me first. I, I cvan... I can do this." His words undoubtedly convinced nobody. Least of all himself. But, he couldn't afford, to be wrong. To lose, another life. A life he, could have saved. And time wasn't on his side, as one of the audience at the same table as them, broke out in a coughing fit. Haruto, time, he couldn't waste. He stumbled forward, ignoring everything his body was telling him.
"Please, I... I can help... Trust, me..." Haruto reached towards the man. Presumably, the man had seen Haruto absorbing the gas, and would have a general idea of what Haruto meant... But, in this panic, was letting everyone know that he was the cure, really a good idea?

The whirring of metal cogs jump started Jasmine's instincts as she stared into the darkness in front of her. It seemed as though the door would've closed in on the blonde lioness behind her had she not very literally ripped the damn thing from out of the doorway. Now all that could be done was the automated process trying to close a door that was no longer there, thus resulting in a long, seemingly endless wheeze of metal trying to fulfill its purpose. Right, so in this case she definitely had the way back secured for herself. No closing in on her as she enters type of bullshit. That was awesome, mostly because of the situation that presented itself in front of her.
There they were, five figures, bound and injured, all staring at her, wincing at the light that was coming through the damaged doorway. Jasmine's now-crimson orbs narrowed as she inspected her new patrons - wholly injured and very likely barely able to stay conscious. Now this was a fucking dilemma.
The blonde lioness was careful in her approach, though. As 'heroic' as she was supposed to be, her natural skepticism took the front seat with this situation. She couldn't trust this not to be another trap. Maybe some bullshit device was going to pop the second she approached, releasing more of that gas from before? Heck, maybe one of the injured hostages over here wasn't a hostage at all and was going to jump her as soon as he was able? So many variables, so many different possibilities. All Jasmine could do, really, was try to illuminate the room through the usage of small explosions at her palm, trying to peer into the darkness to assure that the surrounding area was safe.
Her decision came quickly, despite the situation she was in. She weighed every single piece of information; the hostages were injured, likely unable to properly move. They were tried up, but otherwise looked safe. The room hadn't been booby trapped either. The entrance to this room was blown open too so there really wasn't any way for these five to get imprisoned further. That and Jasmine really didn't trust them. So, using cold logical thinking, Jasmine surmised that somebody would get to them. She paved the way, made sure the coast was clear. Now she had to keep moving and retrieve the antidote.
Pulling out her phone, she very quickly typed in five injured on me, coast is clear, I'm moving forward, and sent it to every single member of their little party. She wasn't sure who was still able to actually do anything so she figured she'd just send it to everyone and see who'd reply.
Thus, after pocketing her phone and pressing forward, she kicked open the door leading further into the complex.

Yumi maybe felt a little guilty for leaving everyone behind, but as the path ahead made itself clear she reminded herself this was probably all she was good for right here. She'd expected something dangerous given the whole 6 rooms conundrum, but apparently not. Carefully stepping forward she expected a straight walk to the other end of this odd hall, only for the sound of something crumbling beneath the surface to send her staggering back to her initial point. The floor was giving away under her and revealing a death trap below. While Yumi couldn't exactly identify what the hell it was, a tar like substance was coating the walls too, leaving the red head to grit her teeth and almost growl in frustration at whoever thought this was something worth organizing. All this to...what? Kill a few curious quirkers and a doctor / nurse or two? Yeah. Totally worth it.
Her eyes locked onto the door at the other end of the hall...odds were this room was designed for someone who could cross long distances like this. Darren came to mind, and then Jaz thanks to her ability to use her explosions to propel herself...Yumi's mind calmed for a moment,. She was useless where she'd come from, that much was certain, and as such a variety of worries were pushed aside. She needed to focus on this room...the walls looked sticky, but the oily substance was potentially flammable. Didn't wanna touch that with her quirk active. If it was just sticky enough she could perhaps scale it but...no no. Too long a trip. Her arms would give out on that and she could end up stuck and slowly descending into the spike pit...
Her mind shifted to some of Valda's ideas, Valda being her pen pal who designed her costume. Yumi didn't understand a lot of her science talk, but the general gist was if she output her current just right...it should have a magnetic like effect...she took a deep breath, and lowered her hands, her electricity pulsing out of her all about at a harmless current. It took some time, tweaking her internal sensations, before she started to feel her feet leave the ground. She pushed herslef back, tucked herself in, and pushed the energy field she was generating out behind her.
Sticking close to the walls, focusing the output down, to the side, and behind her, Yumi found herself flying slowly, but steadily along the wall towards the door at the other end, landing on what little remained of the floor and looking back at the spikes behind her, smirking just a little in mild disbelief that she pulled that off, before pushing through the door to continue.

Darren felt the initial resistance of Nani’s ankles suddenly vanish. It was a telltale sign that his sliding tackle attack had worked, and worked it did. Perhaps a little too well, because his plan to redirect himself with his quirk and control her attack was foiled by a woman falling on top of him. It was one of the weirder reasons one of his attacks failed, though it technically did work -- just not in the way he intended it. Certainly, the delinquent didn’t expect to get accidentally pistol-whipped by the falling woman. The impact came suddenly on the side of his skull, against his speed, tearing some of the skin away. Blood started tainting his blonde hair, but it was the last of Darren’s concerns. He was tough enough to take a random pistol whip without throwing his thoughts out of wack, and right now, his brain was screaming at him to deal with the god damn gun. There would be no delay for his next action. The woman might have fallen on top of him, but he still had his strength and his technique, as well as the speed given by his quirk. He shot his hand up with a spark of Autokinesis to grab -- almost crush -- the woman’s gun-holding wrist. He had only charged his power for a fifth of a second and as such had only been able to use 20% of his speed, but with a beastly roar, he would try to push her off enough -- still controlling the gun well away from the general vicinity of his face and body -- that he could reverse the situation using the pindown escape techniques he learned from judo, jiu-jitsu, wushu and the countless others martial arts he had practiced over the course of his delinquent’s life. He tangled his left leg with hers, and while pushing her to the side with his upper body strength he pulled with his leg for a sort of horizontal trip. Hopefully, this would free his body enough on the right side that he could slither away and immediately get on top. From there, he’d attempt to put her arm under a ude-garami lock, and a tight one. He’d drive his knee into her stomach as hard as he could, keep her head under tight lock with his other leg -- if it choked her, so be it -- and there was no mercy in the strength he put behind the actual lock. If something broke, if something got dislocated, it was none of his god damn business and she had better thought of that before pulling a piece in the same room as Daimon fucking Darren, god fucking damn it. High off the adrenaline, high off the sense of danger that came with wrestling a gun away from someone, he cared only about besting his opponent now and showing everyone that, when everything went to shit, he could be relied on to disarm the crazy gunmen. Perhaps it would put the citizens a little more at ease, or perhaps the delinquent’s almost jubilant expression would terrify them. One thing was sure, Darren wasn’t letting anyone else get shot if he could help it.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Things were not going the way Rin was hoping for at all. Firstly, slapping Haruto seemed to have brought back some of his senses, yet with how he was moving, how he was talking, the blankness in his eyes, there was still quite a ways to go before Rin could rely on him to do anything useful. Never rely on a victim to do anything. Shocked, unpredictable, they're a risk. Not only to endanger others, but also to endanger themselves. Keeping victims from behaving erratically is part of securing an area. In a soft movement, Rin had stepped in front of Haruto. The gentlest, sweetest smile was on the raven haired female's lips. An almost protective, motherly atmosphere emanating from her. "Haruto-kun, trust in me. For now, I've got this, okay?.. Sit down for a bit, have a bite to eat, text or call someone important to you. Calm down for a few moments, then come help me. Okay?" Gently patting his shoulder, establishing the physical contact in a gentle way, hopefully this was enough. Rin could not continue working with this many danger sources on her own, but Haruto in his current condition, with the civillians looking at them, or well, specifically Rin, with nothing more than fear and disgust... It could go horribly wrong. It brought Rin to the next dilemma on the list. Despite her best attempts at keepign the civillians calm, manageable.. despite her best attempts to build some trust between themselves, her, and the other students currently struggling to save their lives, it had not amounted to much. The heavyness of her body from having spent large amounts of blood was pushed to the back of her mind temporarily.Inspire hope. Touch hearts. Show that you are both a human, and a hero. It was far more difficult in practice than it had been in theory. Rin had imagined that the civillians were aware, that without the actions of the students, they'd all be suffocating in a thick gas right about now. Instead, they saw a display of quirks and immediately figured that the students could be their enemies. There wasn't any way that talking alone would suffice. Actions alone would not suffice. Quietly, Rin began unbuttoning the cloak that had, up until now, covered her hero costume. A sleek, skin tight black suit, with red colored straps wrapping around her bosom. A utility belt wrapped around her waist, holding several different instruments and remedies for medicine. Knee protectors leading down into a grey-ish colored set of boots. On each of her shoulders, were two medical symbols. The rod of asclepius, commonly known as the symbol of the first ever doctor. The other was the caduceus symbol, symbolizing rebirth and the fight against death. In short, Rin immediately looked like a medic.Yet, at first she still did not address them. They thought of her as a monster. An inhumane entity without compassion. Without empathy. Someone who did not care for them in the slightest. Walking on the side of the group, the girl bowed down and offered the cloak, heated by her own body warmth, to one of the civillians that had sat down against the wall, clearly freezing. "Here. Let this warm you. You're going to be okay." Stretching to her full length, this was the absolute last chance Rin had to make them trust her. So in this moment, the girl showed them an insight into her humanity. Into her fears, her weakness, yet backed by a burning resolve. "Everyone. My name is Rin Kurama, Hero Student at Yuuei. I may not have finished my education, nor am I properly prepared to deal with this situation I was thrown into." A very, very short pause. Rin sucked at addressing crowds, Rin sucked at inspiring others. Yet, in these moments, that is exactly what she had to. Adrenaline, survival instinct, it was the only things carrying her forwards. "I am not yet a hero, and I am afraid." If they could not emphasize with her explanation, then all hope was lost in retaining any kind of calmness. It would devolve into a panic..."...but I was taught to protect. I swear, I will let no further harm come to any of you. I will treat your wounds and keep you safe. Even if it breaks me. So please. Allow me to save you. Please, trust in me." An honest, open plea, spoken from her heart. Flicking open her utility belt to withdraw two syringes, one already filled with a red liquid, Rin's blood, the girl took a few steps away. They were given room to make a decision. Simply standing there, Rin said but a final few words. "If you do trust me, and want to be treated, please line up. The ones struggling the most at the front." Should the man that had begun coughing begin to topple or worsen, Rin would only react if the crowd's atmosphere had become more positive. If given the chance, Rin would inject him with the syringe containing her own blood. Since her own blood contained many times the normal amount of red blood cells, not only could the platelets prevent any further damage to the tissue of his lungs, by essentially hardening where neccessary to prevent the acidic effect from spreading - when he breathed, her blood also provided his body with slightly more oxygen. It ought to have the man calm down inside a few moments of having received the syringe. Hopefully proving to everyone that Rin was, in fact, looking out for their best interests. If they began lining up, Rin would simply tend to each of them, softly explaining how she is a universal doner, and that her blood will help combat the poison. At the same time though, the constant use of her quirk, the constant drain on her blood supply, cold sweating from the sheer stress of the situation... Rin's entire body was being kept in control by sheer willpower. The moment the adrenaline would cease, the girl would be hit like a freight train. There wasn't much more energy left in her, not much else she could offer. Rin was running on fumes. Rin felt so incredibly heavy, and the corner of her vision was getting blurry. Panting softly, as soon as those afflicted the worst had received a small injection of her blood, Rin would turn, ensuring them that she would be right back, after checking up on Haruto... Each step was so incredibly heavy, yet she didn't want to show the civilians more weakness than she already had. When she reached Haruto, her entire face was covered in cold sweat. "...How're you... holding up... Haruto-kun?" Vision so b l u r r y... Body so heavy.. Rin was staggered on her feet, yet somehow, still, remained standing.

-THE WHEEL OF FATE IS TURNING-
And so, ladies and gentlemen, we enter our final act. The audience is in an uproar and our performers drenched in the sweat of the night. “Encore!” they howl. But, of course, the show must end.
The civilians, battered by ghostly mists, choking on the very air, we witness to a rather powerful event. The young girl they’d considered a creature of horror, a witch that used blood to her benefit… Stood before them and called to their human hearts. Furiously, they scolded themselves. This girl was no monster. She was no horror. She was no creature bent to their destruction. She was a hero. All the children that put their lives on the line to save them… Were heroes. Rin Kurama, hero student of Yuuei. A newer concept, but not one they could not understand. Hero children. She offered her miracle quirk to them and a few did indeed come to her. The man who had choked throughout her speech stumbled on his feet and collapsed, but was quickly tended to, a couple of the older civilians sitting with the man after she worked her magic. She was sacrificing her own blood for them… The boy with them, he seemed to sponge the worst of the air. He looked mindless. In shock? Either way, those with children felt horrid and went to his side. They provided him with a pillow made of a shirt and soft words. And then the girl started stumbling after saving those that needed saving. What sort of humans were they? They saw her tired face, her heavy limbs. A woman took Rin’s hand and brought her, slowly, to the floor with her friend, sitting her beside him. A woman with the most gloriously green eyes. She smiled. “Rest. You’ve done enough for us… We’ll be alright.” Hopeful civilians gave her similar responses, surrounding the pair to keep them warm.
For some reason, the room felt so very empty. Quieter? Oh. Never mind. The howl of a pained Nani ripped through the air. Darren had her in a horrifically painful lock. His knee deep in her abdomen, her arm wrenched harshly. Every movement was agony, but she kept struggling. Inhuman writhing. Letting out animalistic growls and yelps whenever the pain got worse. Darren would feel the unmistakable sensation of a shoulder dislocating and the girl howled even louder, refusing to quit struggling. Then he’d feel the burden of her wiggling lift as two, well-built men joined his side. One, a chubby bloke, straddled her waist and pinned her ankles, using his weight to keep her still. The other, an old, bearded fisherman wordlessly applied pressure to Darren’s outstretched knee to increase the strength of the hold. Before long, he struggles ceased, breathing erratically. These civilians came to his aid. Giving him resolute nods… He saved them from a gun-wielding manic, but they were no longer helpless. Similarly, as Rin’s bindings began to weaken, heavy or stronger civilians surrounded and pinned the warring women to the cold ground. They were not stupid. They couldn’t hope to stand and try to fight this many, revitalised people. Their hopeless panic was their only advantage against the civilians and that was gone entirely. So they laid silent, dreading what was to become of them.
Then came our trailblazers. Who dealt with a room of docile experiments and a room of rejected pus and medical waste. Without a thought, they trudged and barged through their doors. Coincidentally, at the exact same time as each other, they entered the same, huge room. Their wall was lined with the doors they left closed. It was well-lit, which would do little for them as besides the linoleum floor, sterile smell and doored wall, there was no way to proceed. Indeed, this was the final room. No doors led out from here, no windows provided an escape. What was there, however, was perhaps so much more disturbing. Laptops sat on a table, wired into the walls and on them were live feeds of all other rooms from hidden, high-quality cameras from a multitude of angles. The word “STREAMING” plastered in the bottom-right of each feed. On the wall in front of them, written in gaudy red spray-paint was “You Won!”. And, most importantly, hanging from the ceiling by a long, thin chain was a chunky thermos flask with “Antidote” hastily scrawled on its cylindrical body.
If the girls investigate the laptops, they will see that without a doubt, their trials were being live-streamed directly from their location and onto… A website perhaps? There was no sign of where too, but there was a spine-chilling counter on each of the laptops. 308 Viewers.
If they looked for the doctor, they would find nothing. There was no way to leave this room beside the other doors and they were all sealed shut. Like the way he’d escaped the initial room, he had disappeared entirely… At least no annoying voice was calling over the intercoms…
If they at any point took the antidote or pressed any of the laptop buttons, the lights in the room would shut off and the laptops would short out and die, no recoverable evidence left behind.
It was now up to them to get the antidote back, just in case Rin’s blood could not clear any hidden sketches of the poisons they breathed in. Maybe it could be used to provide a vaccine? Who knows? It could even be an even stronger toxin. It was difficult to know. They would almost definitely walk the way through the room of mutants again, wherein they’d find the poor, tortured souls still slumped helplessly. They did not attack, call out or even stand. They just moaned, shying from the light. Poor creatures. Hopefully, some merciful soul will put them out of their misery. Or set them on fire and let them scream. I don’t care either way.
Ah. But what is this, dear friends? The outside world did not forget of our performers. No, one must never forget that even professional dramatists are human and require help now and then. For before Jasmine and Yumi could return to their friends, the impeaching rumble of a swarm of emergency service vehicles found their way outside. Sirens summoned the end of our little play. Thank you for joining us tonight. I hope to present to you another lovely epic before long. But now, the playwright must exit the stage. Farewell. And goodnight.

WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Outside, police and rescue personnel arrived with all haste. They knew, from the civillians descriptions, livestreaming and the GPS, exactly where they needed to go in order to find the locked metallic doors. "I need you all to stand clear of the door. Detonating the hinges in 5... 4... 3..." After the quick countdown, two small bangs went off, as the metal stuck to the hinges, plus the lock itself, was torn apart. The huge metallic door crashed inwards into the room, smashing into the ground. Immediately after, a large group of rescue personnel began flooding in. Stretchers were laid out on the floor, where the most wounded were placed. Rin and Haruto were the first to be taken into care. Both of them having been on the ground when the rescue personnel entered. Outside, there were ambulances, into which they were loaded, no matter how much they might've complained that they wouldn't leave without their friends. For the remaining individuals, first everyone was inspected, thoroughly. Then they'd be escorted out, the officers not allowing anyone to get near. There were also a couple of papparazi and news vans, attempting to film and get pictures. Everything had been streamed online. Every single step and action that had been taken inside, was common knowledge. Thus, they would not need to bring in anyone for questioning. Although, in all likelyhood, they'd be questioning a few individuals anyway.
When it came to the nurses and medical personnel, the story was a little different. There had been several who knew something. In cuffs, escorted by several huge police officers, they'd probably not see much freedom until the court cases. Court cases that very well could end in several lost lives, due to capital punishment. No matter how this turned out, there would be huge consequences across the nation. Though, this little part of the Semper Fi area, was not the only one which had come under attack. So many questions remained unanswered. Even if this little party had gotten out alive and mostly unharmed, it didn't equate to their friends sharing the same fate. For now, all of them would be taken by the hospital for checkups. Either escorted there in police cars, or with the rescue personnel. The five mutants that had been heavily damaged, wounded, seemingly mentally destroyed, were also escorted. They'd be taken somewhere slightly different to the rest, though their recovery was still a priority...
And such, the Wheel of Fate ceased to spin. The outcomes decided..

Within the next few moments, seemingly everything had been decided. The second Jasmine's boot smashed against the door, almost ripping the damn door down, it resulted in a loud bang as the entrance shook wildly, being swung into the opposite side, its metal frame slamming against the wall, the obnoxiously loud sound reverberating along the walls of the rooms surrounding them. Once inside, glaring crimson eyes stared at the large collection of devices before her. Red letters adorned the wall. "You won!" they said. What exactly had she won? The door kicking competition? She wasn't sure what the fuck had even happened throughout the entire time she had stayed in this underground compound, nor what was the point of it all but screw it. She had other things to worry about than crappy experiments.
Yumi was in the room with her too. Jasmine flashed her a small smile, glad that the redhead was safe and sound. All of the machinery laid out before them had still been on, streaming the entire thing that happened for the world to see. Rolling her eyes, Jaz leaned forward into one of the cameras, "Yo doc, you failed and you suck. Try again. We'll be waiting for you." With that being said, she pulled down the antidote, and... yup, just like she had thought, the whole room went silent. Evidence hiding 101, she supposed. Though it was a little dramatic.
Before long Jaz would head back with the antidote in hand, offering Yumi to come with her. Since this entire charade had been streamed, help was undoubtedly on the way, if not already there. They passed by the five mutants from before, all of them hypersensitive to the light outside. The blonde lioness quickly inspected a few of them - they were pretty heavily injured and she was no medic, but she was pretty sure they'd live to see another day.
Finally back into the main room, she indeed saw how professional help had swarmed the premises. The civilians were being treated one by one, Rin and Haruto were being taken away, Darren was getting his shoulder looked at. Some of the medical personnel approached herself and Yumi when they saw them Jasmine gave them the antidote, explained what the fuck it was, and then instructed that there were five more hostages in the room they came out of, by which point several police officers went in to investigate the scene.
Jasmine very quickly inspected the situation; she had mostly been useless in this entire endeavor, which she fucking hated. No, not because she was a glory hound, but mostly because everyone else had to do everything for her while she kicked down some doors. She sighed; way to spend an evening. Whatever. Again, there were more important things to take care of. Thus, waving Yumi and Darren adieu, the blonde lioness quickly hopped into the back of the ambulance Rin was taken in, explaining to the doctor there that she was going with them whether he liked it or not and, should he not like it, he could get fucked.
He took the message well enough.
