"Sorry, but, U.A. accepts only those that qualify for their entrance exam. I already checked." She stated with her hands folded on the table, dead pan staring at Robin on the other side. "If you don't go to an accredited school before hand, just like with America's collegiate system, you can't enter a prestigious establishment such as that." She lifted her menu up, perusing over it to see what she wanted today instead of continuing to harp on her problems.
While people were walking back and forth, serving plates, Nene remained silent for a few seconds before she spoke up to Robin, And I'm not trying to earn your pity. I simply wanted to explain my situation. And ask you for yours if you wanted." She was unbelievably calm through all of this all things considered.
Lowering her menu, she quirked one eyebrow, her glowing eyes locked on to Robin's when he tried to play another card to make her feel bad. Hard to make anyone that doesn't show emotions feel much of anything! "I never said you were a shit person. I never thought of you as a bad person. I was just steaming from the result of being harassed, again. And you said a word that triggered me in an emotional state. So, for that, I am sorry for attacking you."
"Do you want to still eat or no?"

He blinks, expression flat, buries his face in his arms.
“Sorry, I got kind of intense. We can still eat, yeah.”
The moments following are awkward, the blend of tense and relief that disorient the people present. Dizzy and fleeting, thoughts floating to his past and his now.
“Look,” he starts without raising his head, “you probably guessed, but heat generation isn’t the only aspect of my quirk. And I don’t want to talk about it so please don’t ask, but I really do understand that kind of quirk-based ostracization you’re talking about. Where you’re so close to belonging, and you claw forward and scrape it with the tip of your fingers before falling short, and they’re so far away by the time you pull yourself up you just… You’re disgusted with them, and with yourself, and you swear off other people entirely. So we don’t need to talk about it, because I think we both get it, even if I didn’t end up making the news.”
Lingering for a moment – he lets his words and his gesturing hand hang in the air before slowly rising, peeking from his fortress and tracing the menu with his eyes.
“What’s even good here? I’ve never been.”

"Well, it's obvious really. You mentioned during our fight that you have a quirk that others aren't fine with you having. Yet, if it was just a generation of heat, that wouldn't put you in the same position to balk about it like I do about mine." SHe said while looking over the menu a little bit more. Her glowing eyes scanning over the new things of the day, "You're not allergic to mushrooms are you?" She asked while setting her menu down, signalling a server to come over with a wave of her hand wrapped up in that extra long sleeve.
"There's a lot of mushrooms here, they specialize in carb free burgers. What they do is grill extra large portabella mushrooms and reshape them like burger buns. It makes for an interesting taste. But, my taste is a lot different." When the waitress came over, Nene smiled up at the woman and struck up a short conversation with the person, giving Robin more time to look over the menu. Stuffed burgers, mushroom burgers, vegetarian options, tofu options! They had quite a lot of interested new wave recipes here.
"So, I'd like a tofu burger, mushroom buns, with red cabbage and sauces on the side. Oh, and carrot chips!" SHe ordered as if she was a pregnant woman trying to get a food fix! Then, she turned toward Robin and smiled genuinely, "And, my friend here wants to order something too." After the orders were placed, Nene would take the initiative to say one more thing, "My name is Nene by the way."

She explains, and she smiles to him, broad and bright as if they hadn’t just swung their fists – when that sun catches his eyes, this time there’s no reflected light. Glancing to the side and pouting behind the curtain of his arms, resting his head on the table like a child, he stays sullen.
“KY, KY,” Japanese net slang mumbled through cloth, “you can’t be over it that quick, come on.”
Two fingers extend, flash toward the waitress, and muffled words about a second copy of Nene’s order sound out, dull. The girl smiles and nods, jots their words down and trots away, and all the while he wallows, lets a mood drag him down.
“Robin.” He finally says, rises, sighs, scratches the back of his neck with a flush on his cheeks, and settles, rests an elbow on the counter and a cheek heavy on his fist. “I’m honestly a little surprised you don’t go to UA – it seems like I’m meeting classmates everywhere but class recently. You’re a vegetarian I guess?”

Nene quirked an eyebrow at Robin, her face returning to that deadpan expression before she spoke to him, "I can be if I want to be. You just have to decide if you want it to bother you or not. I'd rather eat something and forget about it, put it behind me, than keep dwelling on it like a whining child." She said in response to Robin's use of Japanese Slang and accusing her of not 'being over it' like this was some game where you were stuck in a cauldron with a fire ax to move around. Jeez.
When he brought up UA again, Nene just sighed and slumped down in her chair a little bit. "I'd like to get in to U.A. I'd like to be a hero. But, I have enough scuffles on my record that put me low on the selection list for enrollment candidates. Forget the course of going against others with strong quirks to just be selected for admission. And, I don't go to any school that's well accredited. U.A. is purporting itself as a prestigious establishment. Like America's Harvard University, but for a younger, and much different audience." She drifted off in to a mumble of her own, those glowing eyes looking out to the street while she heaved out a sigh.
"And, as much as I hate to admit it. I do look a lot more like a villain than a hero. So, I don't want to deal with more prejudice from other people that are training to become heroes. You're lucky you got in. I was told I could get in. But, I need a recommendation from one of the staff at school."
"And, yeah, no." SHe poked her index fingers together, pressing her lips together in to a little fish face while she looked away, trying to avoid eye contact with Robin. "I like to eat fruits and vegetables more than meat, but, I'm a sanguinarian." She lowered her head down, "Because I don't have blood in my body, I have to get hemoglobin in it, and other trace elements found in blood. Which, believe it or not, a girl looking like me, ingesting blood, does make you look a lot more like a zombie." She clutched her upper arm with her hand, the other resting on the table while she sighed again, "Probably another reason they wouldn't let me in on my first go at U.A." She said off handed.

His eyes don’t wander as she poses and pouts, even as a smirk subtly pulls on his lips. She’s a human key frame – a still from a storyboard in anime, a gag panel in manga. “Kore wa zombie desu ka?”
He shuts his eyes, shakes his head – smirk wanes to a flat line.
“Sorry, that’s a crazy old show. You made me think of it just now. The title at least.”
And silence.
“Look,” his favorite word, empty sound that stalls and pushes away the need to speak, “my situation sounds similar, at least as far as UA. I skipped class and got in fights – obviously got in fights, you know that much from just now. And my quirk isn’t really impressive, not compared to some. I don’t understand why they would take a gaijin over a native Japanese. The only reference I could’ve conceivably had is my sister, and even then, it’s not like she’s America’s Number One Hero,” the title spoken in air quotes before he rests his cheek back on his fist.
“So honestly I don’t get it.”
Is it really an issue of image, he wonders, of quirk strength? Flexing one hand and tapping one foot.
“Maybe they are worried about image,” light emphasis on the word ‘are,’ “Quirks are still in a strange place in the spotlight, heroes even more so. We’re at a point where the heroes that exist now will become the archetype and stereotype for the future. In a sense, anyone who becomes a hero now becomes the foundation for anyone else to come. I guess that could be a concern.”
Shutting his eyes tight, pursing his lips.
“But that leaves kind of a sour taste in my mouth, if that really is why.”

Nene blinked at the mention of the word zombie, as part of some old anime? She blinked again, before just going back to her deadpan face while listening to Robin explain his situation in U.A. "Well, i can't speak for them. I have no ideas on what's going on with them. I would more than love to get in to the school, but, at this point, I think I need a personal reference." She said while slumping forward, splaying her arms out across the table while her chin rested on top of it in a grump.
And there she would remain until the food arrived, sitting up right immediately while she eyed the tofu burger hungrily. Licking her lips slowly, salivating at it, she picked up the meal and took one big chomp out of it after thanking the waitress. There wouldn't be a lot more talking after that. Not while she was busy eating like a voracious monster. She didn't eat often, she wasn't really aware of her stomach growling unless she heard it, so, Nene could be said to be ready to eat whenever.
And it certainly showed. She would finish her burger in next to no time at all, pushing the plate toward the center of the table with a content sigh escaping her mouth, her eyes looking up at the ceiling, "Do you want to talk about anything else Robin?"

“Well,” he starts, “If they come asking me, I’ll give a good word.”
And he smiles and sighs, shakes his head and rests his eyes on his food. “Not that they’ll ask me. Not that my opinion would mean much even if they did.”
He eats in silence almost as quickly, lets grilled mushroom and tofu blend in a flavor he could call neither hamburger nor horrible. She prompts him for discussion, and he can’t summon the will.
A deep and heavy sigh, an echo of the first, and he scratches at his neck.
“… Yeah, sure. Whether they're worried about image or not is beside the point I guess. Listen, are we cool? No hard feelings? We both fucked up and can move on, that sort of thing? I’m about as interested in making enemies as I am in making friends, so I’d rather there not be bad blood if I can help it.”
An empty plate grinds to the center, adjacent to hers, and catches the sun on a film of grease, iridescent through the window.

Rolling her thumbs around each other, Nene would nod, "Of course. We both understand each other a little more, and I am not keen on causing a bunch of problems for anyone else. So, we're cool. Okay?" She would wait for the bill to come, and make sure that half of it was put on her tab, "I'll cover his half too! Thank you!" SHe said with a smile, before she turned back to Robin and gave a nod.
She then pulled out a small vial of red fluid. Sighing to herself as she uncapped it and dipped it back in to her mouth. Shuddering a little at first, as if it were some medicine with an odd texture. Right after that, she would cover her mouth, and bring her glass of water to her mouth to swig some in, and swish it around enough that she felt her mouth was clear. Once she swallowed and lowered her hand, she closed her eyes and sighed, leaning forward.
A moment later, she shot up out of her seat and on to her feet, "Alright! It was nice meeting you Robin! I am going to go home now! Onwards and away! Wheeeee!" She declared with an ecstatic voice. Running off with her arms out behind her like the wings of a plane. Her glowing eyes leaving a little trail of faded light for anyone that watched her run off. The supposed zombie girl was full of life as she ran out of the establishment, having the bill sent home to her electronically while she left Robin there. The vial was still there, apparently it was a unit of blood. She needed blood now and then. A large amount every week, or a small amount every day, or an even smaller amount like that every few hours. Whenever she ingested it, she became much more animated with her body getting the material it missed.
And so, Nene had run off, leaving Robin there, and went back to her home. [Exit]

Her actions like stream of consciousness, narration written fluid and forgotten the moment ink wets a page. Passive, he lets it play out, lets her speak and drink and spring and scream, and cocks an eyebrow the whole while – her eyes and words, her soul all scream out against the girl he’d fought before.
It’s some minutes after she leaves that he flags down the waitress again and has her redo the bill and properly split it, some minutes more before he swallows squeamish bile and uses a napkin to toss a bloody vial away.
And he pays, and he leaves, one foot in front of the other as it’s always been.
‘Is there a message here?’ He thinks, recites a salutation and steps out the door.
‘No, that’s stupid.’
The only lesson is the one he knew. She has passion, so she works hard, and one day she’ll make it doing what she wants to do. A girl certain in her heart and her eyes, pressing forward into future ahead of past.
The only lesson is that those who run toward a goal succeed, while those who run away fall behind.
An idle hand reaches to the skin on his face to graze and trace the wound she’d left.
“I want to go home.”

Some personal feedback:
Overall a fun and sort of cute thread, but some things to note:
Considering how Nene is dealing with prejudging them going to eat hamburgers after getting in a scuffle felt a bit odd to me? Same reason why no cops went to show up or ever dealt with situations like this, but that's an entirely different story~
However, one important to note is that currently U.A does not have an entrance exam, just something to keep in mind, if you got a Quirk you can get in~
