661 WC NOBODY SAW THAT. NOPE. | One of the few perks Chimera had as a child in the foster care system was that he had gotten very good at coming up with ways to eat up his free time. Maybe somebody from the outside would say that it wasn't a good thing that he had mastered the art of coming up with something to do rather than give his brain time to process anything more anxiety-inducing that his upcoming homework assignments, especially given that he'd come to learn this skill at the ripe young age of eight, but to him it was a good thing. On a sunny Saturday afternoon after classes had ended he had made his way to Tokyo to pick up some things. Snacks, pencil lead, a metal bucket to try and trap Dethrattler in before leaving the room every morning--he doubted it would work--and a couple bottles of water. Just in case the tap got drugged again.
...man, that shouldn't have been something he would be worried about, ever. Yet here he was. Shit. Was this what he had signed up for as a future hero?
It felt like it was too much. Drugs in the water, doping up a bunch of kids...
Before that train of thought could spiral out of control he'd made his purchases and headed for the nearest open area that he could get some impromptu exercise in and not need to think about the people out there who he didn't even know but who still wanted to poison him and his friends or worse. Nope. Nuh-uh. He wound up wandering to the elementary school. After classes had ended and the main building closed up, the blacktop was available for public use. Useful. Chimera went through the gate of the chain-link fence surrounding the property and moseyed towards the basketball court where a few bouncy orange balls had been left scattered around for use. He set his shopping bag on the wooden bench and adjusted the collar of his t-shirt before he knelt down, picked up the ball, and tossed it towards the net above him.
Swoosh.
Miss.
A tall person who can't play basketball. I must be letting down stereotypes.
With a little huff he jogged up to get the ball and tried again from closer to the net, jumping up a little as he swooped. It hit the rim and circled around it and went flying in the other direction. Chimera muttered a small English "Shit."
One more try, then he was going to just grab a tennis ball and play solo fetch.
Jogging up once more he grabbed the ball and dribbled it back up to the hoop, glaring at the damnable circle of metal and rope like it had insulted his mothers. He jumped again towards it and tried to dunk the ball. It went in without touching the rim, his fingers wrapping around the metal at it slid through the netting, and a big grin split across his muzzle. All of this before his feet hit the ground--
A sudden sharp tug made his head split with pain, his eyes closing in pain, and as his feet touched the ground he heard the ripping of fabric and reached his hands up to hold the top of his head. There, looped around one of his horns, was a bit of the netting that must have gotten caught on him when he was coming down from his leap. It hadn't harmed the horn, of course, but when he opened his eyes and looked up at the net he found that a good chunk of it had been torn off on the right side, and was now draped over his horn. And face.
He placed his palms over his eyes and sighed deeply.
"Arrrrrrrrrgh...dammit dammit dammit what do I do...leave a note? Leave some coins to fix the net? Tie it back on...? Stupid horns, stupid net, stupid...ugh..."
At least nobody had seen that.

The weekend. She almost dreaded it. It was the first Sunday she had tried to enjoy herself since her sister got kidnapped. She had no idea, and she felt bad for not even noticing. She just dismissed it as being weird. Perhaps it was the only thing she could have done, or well, should have done. Could she had helped? What would she have done anyways? Darkshine was at the school, she was vice principal it seemed... Wait. If she got detention, then Darkshine would be the one dishing the punishment right? She could be forced to organize her files, or help her around the school. Darren's dumb ass got stuck cleaning the school with the janitor, so it wasn't so far off... was it? She sighed, walking around Tokyo, mostly exploring, enjoying her time away. For once her old man seemed to be lenient and more calm towards her freedom. Maybe in a month she could go out whenever. He really was the best father a girl could ask for. Provided that their father in mind wore an apron 23 hours out of the day to clean their home, which also was a brothel. Levi did get used to playing music at night so she could sleep. But man, there is only so many songs she could play that could help her... She held her eyes to the ground as the red headphones were worn over her black hood. The long sleeves of the jacket would be found with their ends in her pockets as she continued to fiddle and play with the change in them. After her last stunt with the credit card, she wasn't allowed anything but a few thousand yen to play with during her adventures. She sighed, her left hand playing with the music player, skipping songs until she found one to enjoy. Going past a several songs, she would stop on one with a slow steady intro to a guitar playing. The infamous solo. But then she stopped to hear a strange sound. She turned her head, only to find a familiar furball in sight. . . and with a veil of some kind over his face? "Freddy?" she said it to herself, her hands reaching out of her pockets to the headphones to lower it around her neck. She was going to speak to him, call him out almost, but she couldn't even remember his name. Darren said it once right? She really should have paid more attention. ". . . Hey, Satan!" she called out to him, smiling and waving over to the large fluffball. . . . That was his name, right? ~ 433 ~

334 WC please untie goat. | Chimera was still standing with his palms pressed against his closed eyes, trying to will the net back to its complete state and for this embarrassing moment to disappear from existence, when he heard a voice calling out to the devil from behind him. A normal person may have been concerned about that. As it were, Darren Daimon had decided that "Satan" should be Chimera's nickname, and it had apparently catchy enough for the other band members to use it as well. He didn't mind. It was actually a pretty cool nickname. But of all the people to see him so royally fuck up at basketball, it had to be one of the band. God. Dammit. Chimera lowered his hands and turned towards Levi, a grimace still plastered on his face and the rope still stuck around his horns.
Ah, the drummer who didn't enjoy the drums. She was an odd girl (then again, who wasn't at U.A) with a sense of humor as black as her fashion choices. Something told him she would get along great with his roommate or that they would try to kill each other. That same feeling made him wonder how she and Darren got along at all, given the loud, boisterous nature the latter had. She must have liked him enough to play an instrument she hated for his band.
Or maybe she was a masochist.
Either or.
"Hi, Levi. You caught me at a...funny time, actually." He tried to correct himself mid-sentence. He didn't want to come off as whiny about something as dumb as this, but it was still a really dumb mistake on his part to make. His arms dropped to his sides and he signed in defeat. "Can you give me a hand with this? I got some of the net tied up around my horn, and I can't see it. If I crouch or sit can you get it off for me? I can pay you back in snack-food."

She made her way a bit down past the fence only to find one of the doors to push it open and head inside. The chain link doors never really made sense to her, seeing as they didn't really keep anyone out. But the idea of the balls rolling into the street, having it gated and walled off seemed to make more sense. Satan was a cool guy who had fur all over him. He was like their band mascot, if not one of the more enjoyable people to be around. He was always trying to do the best of something. To have him struggling with something, was almost too funny to pass up. "If I didn't know better, I'd say you were up to no good." Fighting balls, trying to get them around a hoop to score. Sure his height should have helped him, but it didn't help if he couldn't aim, or well, if there wasn't a short person to defend a shot against. She would make her way towards him, a smile still on her face as she would try to help him get the net free from his head. She would reach up, not even bother waiting to give him an answer. She wasn't going to waste time, she was enjoying it far too much. "You're lucky this is the only trouble you got into. Thankfully I just happened to be in the neighborhood." She would laugh, untangling the net only to keep it in her hands. Rather than trying to fix what was destroyed, she just put it in her pocket with the change. She was definitely going to keep it, and she was totally going to bring it up later. ~ 286 ~

239 WC Concerned goat. | "I wasn't! It's a public sports field! I...just...my horns have been growing a lot, I mess up how far from things I need to be to avoid bumping into them. It's worse when it's door-frames." Chimera tilted his head down so Levi didn't have to reach very high to get the rope from off of his horns. She was pretty tall so at least he didn't need to squat down. Being so close to another person who wasn't afraid of him and wasn't family was pretty nice. Levi wasn't scared of him. Nobody in the band was, hell, he hadn't met anyone in the school who had been. He was happier to be at U.A with every passing day.
If he ignored the drugging, villains try to kill him and his friends, paranoia...
Once his horn was free he stood up and rolled his shoulders. "Ah, sweet freedom. Now, uh, do you have any idea how much a replacement net would cost? I keep thinking twenty dollars...or...how much is that in yen?" Chimera turned and looked up at the basketball hoop, which was missing a good chunk of netting that was now tucked into Levi's pocket for some reason. Who was he to question these things. He nudged the basketball with his foot. "I'd feel horrible if I didn't pay for it. And kids use it, you know, and I screwed it up." |
