What was this about training? And here Risaka thought what the school offered was among the top, and they certainly was up there, but being offered a position in military training? Risaka always had a small curiousity for what the people on the frontline do it, she also heard that they mostly consist of quirkless people, which even further got her curious. She was already by the place, her and another student, which she does not know who it was, would take on a test from one of the veterans of the military force. She wore her hero outfit because she thought it was fitting, but of course she wouldn't wear her coat inside the base. She was guided into a corridor by a couple of workers that had been waiting for her. She got a board that she had to fill out, which made her frown. Wouldn't the military force get the necessary information from Yuuei when requesting these kinds of arrangements.
She was met to a closed door and two boring looking chairs next to it. Those who guided her told her to wait her until the man in charge came. She shrugged and sat down to scribble down whatever they required from her. Name, age, birth... quirk? What did she have to give it a name now? Whatever the case she simply wrote soemthing that inspires her view on this world. Anti-Wonderland, it had a nice tone and felt nice from the tongue. She sighed after writing down everything, she even had to write a self biography, what kind of man in charge would make students to wrote dowjn this kind of stuff? Risaka felt like she was writing a damn life story about herself, it made her shudder and left it half filled, not that she thought they would care.
She put the clipboard down at the other chair with her long legs crossed, leaning her cheek on her fist as she was waiting. There was a single clock on the wall in the rather empty room. Tick tock, tick tock, it just went on and on, it slowly drove her crazy as she was clenching her eyes shut in attempt to ignore it. ''Stupid useless clock, everyone got watches...'' Her arms crossed tight, her left hand irritatingly tapping her right arm as the time seemingly got slower and slower, she eventually began to switch her leg's position. She had enough, she was just waiting at this point and thus she stood up firmly, walking over to the door and gave a few powerful knocks. ''Hey hey, anyone there? God... and why is this room so darn .... empty! Feels like I'm in some sort of modern art piece.'' She sent her frustration over to the clipboard, pulling it back up with a pair of mean eyes darted at it's content. ''Guess I'll just turn this info sheet into a masterpiece...''
It took her a coupel or more minutes, but with time to spare and a big boulder of boredom ontop of her she didn't have much else to do. She had filled out at least two pages with content about what she can do and what she has been doing. Frankly it looked poor, but she properly explained her capabilities and how she can be a suitable intern for this force. She needed the experience and knowledge from those who are rugged by real war. This sort of reminded her of the stories she got told from relatives, her dad was a part of the military so maybe she could find someone who was like him, to get an idea how he was like. Risaka had more than enough reason to accept internship in this base, and hopefully gain the great experience to put her further forward as a potential hero, maybe of course, she was always thinking if that was really the case, but not a whole lot she could do.
Now it was really getting ridicilour, almost 20 minutes of waiting and still no sign of anybody, and wasn't there supposed to be another one joining the same session of hers? She was a bit early, granted, so that might be the reason there was no one waiting for her. She sighed out loud and would walk back a bit to peek down at the corridor. No one was seen, although there were plenty of other corrirdors connected to it, who knew where they would come from, hopefully it was someone with a good sense of trust and experience, she sure had her hopes high.

This was perhaps the only event that he made sure that Aki was not with him for. Rescue Operations, except this time with a maritime element. He had to google what maritime meant, but once he learned it meant something about being underwater he made sure to come to the sign up area alone. He knew he wasn’t going to do very well, he was a poor swimmer and his quirk was pretty bad in moving water. It would likely be pretty embarrassing, so he didn’t want the wildling girl to see it. He didn’t necessarily mind looking silly sometimes in front of her, but he hated the idea of seeming pathetic again. He hated being looked at like that, and he didn’t want it to ever happen again if he could control it.
He got a little lost finding the sign-up area since he had gotten a bit distracted by how cool the place looked and managed to slip through the staff undetected while they were distracted but wasn’t exactly too worried about it because he was sure he was going to sign something or other before the training. It wasn’t like he was going to be mistaken for a member of the military with the getup he had on currently. Light grey shirt, leather jacket, thick denim jeans, and deerskin gloves made up his current ensemble – far from any sort of military uniform. Eventually he did get stopped by a worker, and was led over to the signup area after the American asked for directions. He thought he heard someone obnoxiously yelling at a volume far too loud for an indoors environment, but it was distorted through the walls so he couldn’t exactly get a good read on who it was or what they were saying. They might even be outside, but the amount of volume required to talk that loud with be as impressive as it was annoying.
When he walked into the room, the boy’s face lit up when he saw his friend Risaka sitting in one of the chairs already. ”Oh, hey Risaka! It looks like we’re teaming up for this again, huh?” he blurted out, the excitement clear as day in his voice. ”Oh, that’s super lucky! I’m glad you’re my partner, you’re really good!” he continued, almost bouncing along in excitement as he grabbed one of the sign up sheets and a pen and started scribbling down answers right there on the table without bothering to take a seat. He filled out the form haphazardly, not really putting any thought into his answers. Truth be told, he was kind of just hoping that nobody looked at it too closely before they let them in the training room. Once he had completed the training, he was out so he didn’t really care if things were incomplete or the answers given were only barebones. It wasn’t his problem, at the end of the day. It was theirs.
Oh, this was going to be fun. Risaka and Alex had done a rescue operation in a flood simulation in their first week at the school, and it might have even been his monochrome friend’s first day of classes. They went as far back as any dynamic duo at Yuuei, and he was excited at the prospect of getting another round of training with his buddy. Hopefully this time he would be a little more useful than last time, and he would be especially if it was standing water this time instead of just some crap running water. Running water is awful and the shadows moved too fast for him to reliably use them for any constructions for more than a few seconds, but stagnant water was just fine. The only thing that would hold him back if it was stagnant water was his own poor swimming skills, but if the water wasn’t deep enough to require swimming then he was golden. He had no idea what to expect from a training like this, so his mind was racing with the possibilities. It was advertised as a maritime exercise he was pretty sure, so he was positive water would be involved somehow or some way. Otherwise it would be false advertising, and the military wouldn’t do that – right?

Honestly, Kirk had never exactly been excited about war things. Heck, even just watching some old documentaries with his grandpa, his concentration had often been pushed somewhere else. And despite his grandpas encouragement of it being "amazing place for a tough boy like him", the image that came to mind of the sort of training they would get there just shone through: Those "Full silver coat" flicks, with some sort of general shouting their lungs out to get the "Lazy bums" to move their legs in front of the other. Kirk had always been sporty in his own way! He didn`t need some guy shouting about needing to go faster or slower! Besides, he was in good condition without it! The school provided much more varied classes in what they could have done! ...He hadn`t said that outloud. Who would to their excited grandpa. Besides, there was one course that he got him to get somewhat interested in. "This rescue training thing especially! You haven`t been at the school from the start, so that might be the perfect way to show that you got the guts, and don`t need no catching up!"
And now he was walking through the area where the rescue training was supposed to be held. "Excuse me! Where do we students sign up for this class!?" His classic loud tone, and a-bit-less-but-still-majorly excited demeanor made it easy to find the place he was supposed to go to. And with his pace, he had not been in a rush to get there, which is why he was now once again jogging forward. It was clear he would make it there in there very much on time. His head was instead filled with thoughts about what the rescue mission would be like. Naturally, the most normal way for him to do it would be to grab a child or two in his pouch and just run out and back in. But that was the case if it was a burning building... Maybe it was a hostage situation... he honestly hope not. With his quirk, any sort of gun was a bit dangerous. He would just become shredded cheese if that was the case...
And as he got to the door, he momentarily closed his eyes and cleaned sweat off of his forehead. This guy dressed in simple light blue tank top and dark green camper shorts, with good old sneakers was clearly happy to be there. "Man, I am still on time right?!" However, as he opened his eyes, he couldn`t help but feel a bit of a dark presence in front of him. A minor aching on his buttocks. And an awkward glare. Eeyup, it was Risaka. The girl she had properly angered during class. Although his later opinion was that "Well, it was class and that sort of thing has to happen!", he didn`t feel exactly comfortable enough to tell the angrier one about it. For now, he tried to stay quiet, as he moved over to one of the seats, sat down, grabbed a piece of paper, and looked at what he was supposed to fill in, with his grey cells... trying to activate them by rubbing his head really hard.
Most of the questions were pretty easy, just basic physical info! And Kirk knew his body info! Quirkvise well... he just wrote backpacker. That´s what it had been called since childhood. Luckily for him there was nothing else to write down, as he placed it back down on the table semi proud of himself. Atleast this was a part where he could perhaps avoid getting a drill sergeant commanded on himself. Although... He meekly looked towards Risaka like careful dog trying to make friends again... and this time noticed Alex! "DUDE!" He hadn`t even noticed the slightly shorter than him individual! He actually stood up and walked over to him to grab him by the shoulders! "You are here to try this thing too huh?!" Surprisingly, despite him having a pretty muscly physique, Kirk hadn`t exactly interacted with him too much out of classes. However, in this situation, some person to keep the bro-code going with was very much needed! "First time doing this sort of deal here. Hopefully I can keep up!"
...Although with his concentration aimed on Alex, he had proceeded on "Risaka-territory." He turned towards her... and seemingly gave a quick thumbs up in her direction, with a bit over the top smile! "I hope we can do this together mates!!" The guy was nervous alright, with the reason being clear, whether you thought about the training itself, or the ones he would be doing it with.

It felt like something from the shadows would lunge at her or creep up on behind her back. What was this feeling? It wasn't something she normally felt, but it was slowly getting bigger and most certainly not something she wanted to find out. She went to the door once more and simply wanted to knock through, but it was too late, the unknown appeared into the room which greatly silenced Risaka's body movements. She gulped, that voice was indoubtedly that one boy with an attitude of a rock. She stood there for a cuple of seconds to just let Alex speak for himself, the moment he sat tho was when she turned her expression towards his being. She was completely dumbfounded, him, out of all people, outside of school, just so happens to be on the same agenda as she. Did he stalk her? No, he didn't seem like that kind of guy, too genuine, but he did also show an uncomfortable high level of clinginess to her, what was he even thinking of her? She kept on and on asking herself these questions but alas without a single reasonable answer.
''....W-why the fu-.... actually, nevermind, I guess it's just one of those days....huh?!'' She got that sudden feeling again, but she already has seen her partner, but this time it was more boiling hot. It wasn't the kind of feeling that she got from a literal rock like Alex, it had to be something she truly despised. She quickly averted her attention from Alex and back up to the entrance to the room. There he was standing, the loudmouthed, muscleheaded, baffoon that squashed her during a class session, literally. Her face and glare was seemingly covered by her hair's shadow, making her right visible eye to pierce right into his. Her mind was quickly brewing up into a hot pot of anger, she truly did not like his presence, and worst of all, it was him with Alex, in the same room! She had to escape, this was too much, this would be killing her inside out quicker than drinking lava. She didn't exactly respond to Kirk other than her monochrome glare, she truly wanted him to know how the current situation was.
As both Kirk and Alex was greeting eachother she turned around and clenched her fists close to her chest with a frown. Thinking to herself she was already making an escape plan from this place. ''How could this happen...! And here I was with hopes of having a normal session, I was already fine with Alex, but him WITH Kirk was... ough...'' She felt incapable to process that thought, her head hanging low. She did try to walk around them as they spoke together, this might be her chance walk away and make a believable excuse. She reached the exit of the room and waved her hands in a dismissive manner to both of them. ''Aah haha, I forgot I was supposed to be in another room, now if you'll excuse me-'' She was right about to walk out before being stopped by a large figure standing in the way. Tall, slender and wore skintight suit with various equipment strapped all over the boyd. It seemed to be a male, a male with heavy scuba dive equipment. Risaka, staring up to his height would blink silently from his obscure appearance. ''....What-'' ''HEY YOOOO!''
Risaka quickly fell back in surprise by the sudden shout. ''W-what the hells your problem?!'' The man chuckled under his diver mask and raised a fist up. ''You three must be the participants! Perfect! I bet you three will do great! My name is Daia Tachibana, at your service!'' He saluted despite the three students in the room was wel... students. Risaka didn't know how to respond to such an out-of-place man, but she gave a small nod to reassure he wouldn't block the way. ''Oh, I see, well then, if you don't mind-'' ''Whoa whoa there missy! That ain't the right way! That way!'' he easily stopped her and turned her direction towards the locked door. ''The youth nowadays sure are silly!'' Risaka just standing there with an outmost unamused expression. ''Fuck my life....''

”Nah, today is a good day. Yesterday was one of those days… Did you hear about how Aki stole one of the paintball guns from that area and went around the entire demonstration area peppering the hell out of other students with Mira? Shit got crazy, and those little shits are a lot slipperier than I thought so they lost me real quick.” he responded with a sigh to Risaka’s barb, not even realizing it was a barb and taking it fully in stride. He was just happy to be able to do more training with his friend! This was a good day, all things considered, and he was happy to come here just in time to get in a session with someone he had already worked with a lot before. The yelling from down the hall became closer and closer, however, and eventually his attention was diverted to behind him. It didn’t exactly take a master detective to recognize the voice of the man who came down the hall… especially as his voice became less and less distorted.
Oh cool! Kirk was here too! This was fantastic! The man made an entrance quickly and excitedly by grabbing the delinquent violently by the shoulders and shaking him a bit as Kirk spoke with his trademark volume close enough to cause some temporary hearing damage. ”Damn right I’m here for the rescue ops.” he responded with as much exceedingly fake excitement as he could muster, taking the shoulder shaking in stride. The guy was almost screaming in his face, but that was just how he was. Even if his ears rang a little bit, he couldn’t really get mad at him for being who he was. It wasn’t harmful or mean, so he was happier to put up with Kirk than most people seemed to be. The guy was just really excited to be there, and honestly Alex wished he was half that happy most days they were doing the same boring old shit as the last.
”You’ll be fine, Kirk. You’re super athletic, right? Swimming will be no problem. I’m the worst swimmer here by a country mile, probably, so if anything I’ll be the one who needs to worry about keeping up.” he admitted, partially in the hopes of making Kirk feel a bit better and partially in the hopes he would stop screaming in his face or at least take his hands off of the American’s shoulders. He didn’t mind the guy, but that didn’t mean Alex knew him well enough to be all the way okay with all this physical contact all of a sudden. He wasn’t nearly as touchy feely as Kirk, it seemed. That was one good thing about Risaka, she never did shit like this because of her quirk and her winning personality in general.
When he heard the voice of a fourth person near the doorway, Alex took a step back and ducked a bit to wriggle out of Kirk’s grasp as his attention was diverted as well and just observed. It was the military guy, fully decked out in cool scuba suit stuff that was going to take them to their training! Super cool!
”So we’re starting right now?” Alex asked, uselessly making the guy repeat himself almost out of instinct.
”You betcha! Just right this way!” the energetic man immediately replied, almost too happy to have three students to work with. The training must be really tough, because if he learned anything from instructors it was that none of them were that happy unless they were about ready to inflict some serious pain on their students.

"Yeah!" He answered alex`mutual excitement. What Kirk knew about Alexander was sort of limited. He had heard him chatting in the chatroom a lot and new his ability made shadow objects of things... other than that, well... He talked a lot, just at acceptable volumes. And according to himself, he sucked at swimming, something Kirk naturally knew how to do. "Most likely! Although it`s not like I am some sort of olympic swimmer either, you know!" There was nothing much more refreshing than diving into a pool after a good jog. However, the gears in his head seemed to finally lock in place as he realized what he implied. "You saying we are doing some sort of aquatic rescue?" Admittedly, for his quirk that might be a bit of an awkward place to try and show off his skills proper. Besides if Risaka was as mad as he thought she was... Wait, where did she go?
And soon enough a loud as heck voice almost like his echoed through the room, as this man that looked like he was from a horror movie with all of his gear stepped in. "Hey to yourself mate!" Kirk answered back. With Risaka at the front they started walking towards the place of their task. As they entered the door, behind it there was a brightly light green colored room, with tons of different metallic lockers. there were clear numbers over them, and each was seemingly locked. "...Man, this looks almost exactly like a public swimming pool back home!" Daia seemingly flinched a bit. He wasn`t exactly expecting that sort of reaction before he even said anything. However, he didn`t break character, as he raised his hand into the air, and said in a semi-happy tone: "Now then, gather up in a row! I`ll do a very quick check-up, and then you can get into the water! I won`t disturb you getting ready or anything, Just gotta see that all the gear you will be wearing will be fitting you well!"
The man started handling the papers the trio had filled, quickly looking through the numbers and biographies. "It`s good that none of you have had bad experiences in water yet either! We don`t want any of you to turn from a rescuer into a target of rescue, if you catch my drift!" The guy continued flipping through the pages with a chuckle... whilst Kirk tapped his foot on the ground. He had never liked staying still much, but army does as army does. The less he would get yelled at the better to be honest. "Also, we have wetsuits for all of your sizes. They are VERY bendy and comfy once you get used to wearing them. Feels like you are wearing nothing at all!" He pulled on his own suit, as it snapped back upon his skin with a loud sound. Kirk seemingly snapped awake from his distractions.
"Wait..." The man stopped speaking as his finger traced along the same portion on each paper... The quirk section. "This backpack quirk of yours!" He aimed his finger towards Kirk. "How does it exactly work? You just say that it opens and closes here?" Kirk visibly leaned back a bit and shrugged. "Well... that is what it does?" "Sigh, just show me... things like this are important or you might end up drow..." At this point kirk leaned forward, and pulled his shirt up a bit as the giant bag on his back opened wide, causing the guy to take a step back! "Okay! Understood!" Kirk pulled his bag back into his back, as Daia seemingly thought for a bit, before pointing a finger towards him again. "We will just provide you with some swim trunks, so you can use your quirk without needing to worry about it being impeded! Othervise, you should be good to go! Locker 51!" He quickly threw a key to the boy, as Kirk immediately proceeded to go to it, pulling out the swim trunks and starting to put them on. "Righto!" Daia proceeded to write something on the paper, as he silently grumbled to himself. "And I thought that for once I got some actually regular teenagers without needing to compromise..."
"As for the others..."

This was just so great, what a splendid way to get herself into yet another highly despised situation. Not only was she with two individuals she particulary did not like, but even the damn instructor was beaming out with personality and life. In this case it was no longer her vs the other side, it was now an one vs the world feeling, all the odds was against her, how could she cooperate with these maniacs? Maybe she exaggerated and simply thought too harsh on them, but she trusted her own gut feeling. There was no going back now, she had to fight back and get through this damn test. No matter how she looked at the current situation she could only see a rather misfortunate ending. Standing in the green room she could only look down and sigh internally over and over again, deep within she hoped one of the sighs would calm her down, but alas only made her more worried. ''Nnngh..! Life truly hates me huh.''
They were talking regarding their filled out sheets and from the looks of it she would also be needed to get into those skin tight wetsuits, underwater rescue huh? As long the water wasn't a literal whirlpool it should be easy enough for her, she didn't swim a whole lot, but was never a thing she feared. The musclehead got questioned for how his Quirk worked, and a very faint moment of ptsd kicked in her mind which instinctively made her step once away from Kirk as he was demonstrating. ''Get that damn thing FAR away from me...'' Hisses inside of her head she only gave a frown towards Kirk, which was not noticed by him so whatever the case, she just did not appreciate what he did back at the tag match.
''As for the others...''
Her frown towards Kirk was quickly gone when noticing Daia putting his finger towards Risaka. She converted her frown towards Daia, which made him to give a slight unsure gulp. ''Uh uhm, yeah, you... I can see what your quirk do, althought they got such pretty colours ANYWAYS here ya go missy! Try not too make the water murky!'' She got an anger mark popping from her head with her teeth gritting. ''Is this scubtard mocking me?!'' But she didn't let the words out, instead just accepting the damn key with a swift grab in the air. ''Hmph, this'll go by a flash.'' Risaka was confident she would sweep this test, it would be hard to top her previous water related rescue mission, but this time she was more prepared to the dangers of the water and it's unknown depths.
She read the key and looked across the many lockers. ''Number 12 huh... It mist be in the female locker room.... wait!'' She just realized, this was only one locker room in which she widened her eyes and huffed out steam from her head. ''W-why the hell am I in the boys locker room?!'' Daia jumped a bit in surprised, his hands upwards in submission with his eyes confused by her outburst. ''W-well! Uh, we only got one...'' His head hang down a bit, clearly indicating there was a poor budget on their side for this building. ''BUT it shouldn't be a problem! Just change in the bathroom!'' Her eye twitched, irked at his poor choice of problem solving, got a female in need for a private changing room? Right to the bathroom! She couldn't believe it, but she simply gritted her teeth even further and stepped yo her locker. ''You all will pay for this...''

Ah, crap. They were required to get into these wetsuits, which definitely meant that there was going to be a lot of water. It wasn’t exactly a secret that the American wasn’t the strongest swimmer at U.A., so this would be pretty interesting to see if the suit did anything to help that deficiency. Kirk was probably a good swimmer, he was super athletic and seemed to compulsively work out like a drug addict scratched their neck or something. He knew Risaka could do it because she carried him through the flood rescue earlier on in the year, so he just needed to do something and he was solid.
When it was revealed that the state of the art rescue center only had one locker room, the delinquent cocked his head to the side. That didn’t make any sense at all. They went super ham on putting in artificial woodland for a paintball arena, but chose to cut costs here of all places? When the guy told Risaka to change in the bathroom, a grimace passed over the delinquent’s face. If their staging area was this shitty, how bad would the actual rescue simulation be? Maybe this wasn’t the facility that he was hoping it would be.
When the guy was out of earshot talking to Kirk and they were all in the locker room, Alex voiced his frustrations with bad humor like he normally did to Risaka in a low voice. ”Hopefully the rescue simulation isn’t a blow up doll in a swimming pool or something.” he commented, with absolutely no amusement in his voice. He was much less excited for this now that the shit budget of the area was uncovered. There were wetsuits with sizes marked on the walls, and Alex just grabbed one and went to the locker his key was assigned to – number nine. He wasn’t exactly in the mood for too much more conversation at the moment, so he just opened his locker and changed into the wetsuit quickly while stuffing the rest of his shit in the locker and kicked the locker closed as he struggled to get the suit fully on a bit more than most because he had accidentally caught a part of it on a nearby bench without realizing it for several seconds and was wondering why his pulling of the suit wasn’t having any effect.
Once he managed to get the damn thing on, hopefully without ripping it or something, he felt really weird. The entire thing felt like he was being encased in Play-Doh or something weird. It didn’t feel like clothes, it felt like some weird synthetic coating like on plastic or something. ”I’ve never had one of these on before. I feel like I’m smothered in plastic wrap.” he said aloud, his mind going to a different comparison on how weird this wetsuit felt every few seconds. Unfortunately for him, he was next up to be interrogated by the overexcited military man, who went over and without any permission started ‘fixing’ parts of the wetsuit that Alex had put on less than optimally as he read over his sheet.
”So it says here that your quirk lets you create stuff from shadow, do you need any extra accomodations for your quirk to work? You weren’t very detailed in your description, here, and wanted to make sure.” he said in a tone that was about five levels of energy higher than the American’s own.
”No, I just need shadow. If it’s stagnant water, I’m really useful. If it’s running water, I’m less useful.” he said, his red gaze meeting the military man’s in what amounted to boredom and his tone reflected the same sentiment.
”It also says here that you rate your swimming skills a ‘3’, would you like some flippers to assist in your ability to complete the course?” the man continued, either not noticing or not caring at how disinterested the delinquent was.
”Sure, I could take some flippers. Thank you.” the boy replied, for the first time his voice approaching something closer to friendliness as the diver walked across the room briefly and hollered out, ”What shoe size?” to which Alexander replied simply that his size was 28cm and was tossed a pair of flippers that would hopefully fit him.
He pulled the things on, visibly a bit more cheery and willing to be excited about whatever was going to come because he felt like he wouldn’t just automatically be the load on the team like was last time. With the flippers he might even be able to kind of keep up with his two teammates, which would be a nice change of pace when it came to maritime missions in general. He was at home on solid ground, but knew that heroes didn’t exactly get to choose where and when disaster struck and he had to be ready to go on and perform a rescue in any environment so any experience in potential disaster environments that were not exactly his comfort zone was a great experience that he would try and learn from as much as possible.
If his goal was to catch the attention of the Number One Hero of Japan, he needed to be able to tackle any sort of challenge that was thrown in front of him once trainings in U.A. became more public. There was no way to predict when and if any demonstrations would be made with U.A. students, and when or if his idol would even be watching any of them. If she only watched one exercise, no matter how unsuited for the task Alex felt himself to be he needed to be able to excel in it. That meant he had to get good at everything, because he never knew what the magic moment that he could strut his stuff would be so if that meant running around in an under budget water simulation course a time or two with two classmates, then so be it. It was a time investment he was willing to make, multiple times if he felt it was necessary.

While Daia was checking alex`s and Risakas special needs, Kirk had opened his locker. And well, there was not much to be said about the swimwear. He unfurled and whipped them in the air to get em properly open. Typical black swimbriefs meant for an average sized adult... almost a bit too unprotective and flimsy for what they were planning on doing... Although for Kirk, who was a tall teenager and liked his body as free as possible, they seemed like a perfect fit! With clothing clear, he proceeded to strip without too much fear about repercussions, with his shirt and shorts hitting the bench in front of the locker. "Gotta be careful of the sharp stuff though..." With nothing in between skin and a sharp object, Kirk could already imagine getting some nasty cuts whilst swimming...
However, then there was a shout! "Gah!" And from a not-so-unexpected source no less! The sound of it outright made him hop a bit onto one foot standing! However, that soon turned into a sigh of relief. She wasn`t shouting at him. Apparently she was expecting to get a separate room to dress up in. Kirk chuckled a bit. Back home his school used to just hold the sports lessons for girls and boys separately! Thus, the school could just use one dressing room. "Well, its not that big of a...!" He bit his tongue. He realized finishing that sentence might be detrimental for his health... as he dropped his undergarments onto the ground.
"Now, speed up a bit! Don`t wanna use up all your time on dressing up, right?" Daias voice started having a bit of an impatient tone. It seemed like he was ready to get this thing done before it even started.
However, Kirk atleast was completely oblivious to the fact. He was just extending his swimwear... it was so darn flexible and stretchy! "Wow, DUDE! Look at this! Its almost like bubble gum!" Perhaps most of the budget had went into the swimwear and the course itself! Kirk could understand that completely. Providing a proper exercise was way more important than separate rooms for groups of three! Kirks head turned towards Alex, who already put his costume on. "Albeit, the color ain`t exactly heroically eye catching!" "That`s cause its for STEALTH!" Kirk turned to look at Daia, who had seemingly taken offense to him insulting the outfit... although Kirk seemingly just nodded in clear realization! "Heh, no wonder then!" He pulled his own swimbriefs over his legs, as he snapped the thing against his waist. "You weren`t lying! These are some snug swimwear!" Daia seemingly gave a proud nod of agreement. Finally the big boy said something that made sense! Finally, kirk took little swimglasses, and pulled them over his eyes.
"Is everyone of you finally ready?" Daia Asked, with Kirk immediately lifting his hand onto his forehead, like a soldier! "YES SIR!"

With a slam behind her she firmly locked the bathroom door with her expression with embarassement and irritation. Forced to change in a bathroom of all places, granted she used to do that when in High School due to her Quirk and not have other girls eye at her. It brought not such pleasent memories, She wouldn't act based on mere reminiscences, she was grown up, at least mentally. And from the looks of it this bathroom was quite bigger than she thought, at very least five or six times bigger than the average space. But that only brought more angered questions to mind, how did they not put budget for gender bathrooms but yet getting these large spaces for bathrooms? Were they expecting some quirk users being in need for such space? Of course, in this day and age quirk mattered more than gender, how time has changed, and she knew how it was like back then since she read alot of documentaries, especially the start of 20th century.
She stood there for a moment to inspect the wetsuit and the additional gear included. It was simple and straight forward for what it's purpose was, light movement underwater. Stretching it a bit she was amused by the overly stretchy fabric's quality, looks like they put funds on alot of things except for locker room separations... Whatever the case, she was jsut frustrated, nothing too big, she'd get over it the moment the overly positive guider slammed their faces with an absurd task. This wasn't the first time she was handed over unreasonable tasks from the military, but worst part of it all was that she thought this mission could teach her alot, so she signed up willingly unlike the past events of her beign forced to go on these marches and operation tests. But of course this time around she was stuck with two people she simply did not wanna get close to, but like she always used to say; Faster done the better.
It was a slight struggle to get into the wetsuit, it was clingy and did not cooperate with her handling, once her lowerhalf body was in tight dark smooth fabric she squirmed from the unusual feeling. ''I heavily prefer my thights than this excused latex glorification tool...'' With mroe effort and firm grips she got the suit on her shoulders, from there she slid her hamds through the sleeves, and then came the most embarassing part, the front. Risaka was in a way a 'well gifted' girl, and not quirk wise because she despised it, but she had a front that could potential give her some ... complications. With the tighting zipper she forced it across of her chest and with a small smack off letting the zipper go she felt extremely uncomfortable. Looking at herself in the mirror made her irk and basically cover her front with her arms. ''C-christ sake, this was not on my agenda...'' She stroke her sides to straighten the wet suit before putting on the utility equipment, it was a simple belt with two straps going over her shoulders plus a oxygen mask.
With all that done and prepared she was finally ready to go back out to the locker room. Peeking out she saw the other two finishing up the dress up. Leaving the bathroom with the least amount of attention gained she carefully got back infront of where Daia stood with his fists on his sides waiting. ''So, scuba diving? Please don't tell me this operatrion includes aquatic predators in the water... And this won't be going on for hours, right?'' The instructor simply laughed and shuck his head with a single finger waging infront of the gray girl's face, which she did not take anywhere lightly, giving a very noticable frown, but yet Daia simply saw past that. ''I can't spoil ya! But if you're ready then let's get going! Less questions more actions! Or how I like to call it... positive movements!'' With an encouraging fist upwards in the air he gave out a lively remark for all three. ''You alla re the future heros! It already feels like an honor to meet you all so it is in my duty to give you three the best guidance as possible! Onwards!'' With little to nothing of a warning the guider barged past them all three with firm straight steps before opening the door at the end of the locker room where he simply pushed the double door right open with an overdone entrance, this wasn't the opera stage, it was a damn swimming hall...
The sight was truly to behold, the large hall infront of them all was expected to jsut contain one large wide pool. But it was deep, very deep, so deep that it was pitch dark down there. And what was the test exactly? The giant ship that was cut in half in the middle of the pool. Risaka felt like she just stepped into a museum for recreation of history disasters, this simulating construct was hard to grasp. THIS is where most of the funding went huh? She shuck her head in disbelief, it was so realistic, it had flames coming from various spots and with many props laying around at the water surface. ''...Well then, I assume we will dive underneath the wrecks and.... do whatever in there, how much di this cost to create anyway?'' Asking towards the guider, she gave a pointed finger up towards him in a slight demanding gesture. Daia as dismissive he is waved his hands infront of him. ''Uh uh, yeah we spent alot! I am not the one in charge of the funds however, I just know this year's army exercises should top the one from last year, and we did it!'' They sure did, excluding the fact they literally were missing a female locker room. ''Geh... this is overkill! And how many times is this supposed to be used?!'' ''Hehe! That's easy! One time!'' She stood there with a blank expression with pale eyes before nodding, this time she simply gave up trying to get any reason out of him.

Well, this was definitely a bad idea. The wetsuit itself stuck very close to the delinquent’s skin and he already felt cold wearing the damned thing. While he was happy that the soldier here, Daia, was a lot friendlier than the jackasses in the combat area he would much rather him be screaming and yelling along with being a giant rude asshole if that meant they actually got understandable and actionable information out of the guy. Near as the boy could tell, the guy was a few screws loose of a full set and he was well and truly expecting some low budget shit show when they actually made it to visual range of the scenario and could actually get a sense of what they were dealing with for the duration of the rescue simulation and… holy shit, dude.
The surprise was plain on his face when he saw how insanely expensive and expansive the rescue simulation was, with a literal burning ship that was cut in half and literally smoking in the middle of this gigantic pool that seemed to be so fouled up it was pitch black. Holy shit, this was actually completely insane and he couldn’t imagine what mad man had actually approved this shit. This particular scenario didn’t exactly seem redoable, and he had to wonder how long the boat was literally on fire. Did they just blow up a ship at the beginning of the day and just have it sit there until someone came in to do the course? Was the reason they had a longer wait because Daia had to go find the control panel for the explosives or whatever before heading down to receive them? The appearance of something so lavishly wasteful raised many more questions than it answered, quite frankly, many more questions than Alex was prepared to ask mostly because it would waste everyone’s time and cause the ship to burn before he got anything close to an answer that could possibly be satisfactory.
When the soldier said that the simulation was supposed to be used one time, the delinquent did a literal double take as he processed the words that came out of that maniac’s mouth. Used… One time? Did Alex hear that right? ”One time?” he asked incredulously, only for Daia to verbally confirm it one more time with enthusiasm like he had no idea how seriously insane that sounded. Okay, well, it seemed like they were getting absolutely zero instruction and they were just expected to go out and do things. That was unexpected, but also something that someone like the delinquent was comfortable doing even if those flames looked awfully real… probably because they were real. It was a good thing that the American didn’t have any innate sense of self-preservation, otherwise he might have hesitated before jumping into the water! The rush of coldness hit the boy like a freight train, and he was soon shivering from the unexpected frostiness of the water but started game planning anyway.
It was who he was in these sorts of situations, immediately wanting to take charge and at least start the discussion so everyone knew what they were doing even if he was the worst person possible to start that discussion. Risaka was smart but not exactly the most talkative, and Kirk was… well, talkative but also very likely to burst the delinquent’s eardrums before any full plan came out of those powerful lungs of his. While his muscular classmate was probably also willing to start the strategy phase of the mission, he for some reason got the sense that his monochrome friend somehow didn’t like Kirk for some reason. He could definitely see why, because the boy was as loud as he was muscly and on top of that was definitely far beyond what one might consider ‘extra’. The gray scaled girl wasn’t the most talkative in the best of times, and indeed seemed to almost be brooding most of the time with some unhealthy amount of coffee in the corner pondering the meaning of life or whatever actual smart people did with their day.
”So, I’m assuming there are mannequins or some other representation of people to rescue on the board we can either go in as one unit or split up.” he stated in between teeth-clattering shivers. God, this water was insane and would definitely be dangerous to be in long term. ”I’m probably the worst actual swimmer here, but might be the best out of us to take on the fire parts of the ship because I can use my quirk to put out fires pretty easily. If we split up, I’d like to go in that area. If we stick together, we should probably start on one end of the ship and work our way fully down to make sure we don’t waste time back tracking.”
A couple of seconds passed as he looked between Kirk and Risaka, his teeth clattering from shivering in the frigid waters before he managed to gasp out between shivers: ”If there’s no preference, splitting up would be fastest. The fire will probably burn the rescue targets up before we get there if we wait too long. This water is also really cold, and is probably unsafe to be in for long periods of time. Because this shivering isn’t for show, I promise.”
If the water was going to be this hostile of an environment, he needed to get moving and quickly in order to cool down. Extended use of his quirk fucked with his body temperature as well, so maybe going to the fires really was the best option for him because overuse of his quirk in water this cold would probably just freeze him to death without something to heat him up. A raging fire really was as good as anything else for that purpose, so he was more than willing to undertake a bit more danger in exchange for the whole not freezing to death bit. Not freezing to death was nice and very preferable to the alternative, yup.

Finally, it was time to start the exercise proper! With everybody ready, they stepped through another door, into the actual hall, where it was supposed to happen, and Kirk was pretty much as surprised as the rest of the trio. "Whoa, duuuuuuuude!" Honestly, it was the size, that he could imagine it being an aquarium from the top! Although, the pool didn`t have any sort of light, as it lulled there dark as depths of abyss. Whilst Risaka and Alex were talking with Daia, Kirk had an immense and sudden need to just plunge into the water! However, soon his big form, jumped back up onto the waters surface with a classic shout: "HOO cold!" Atleast it was refreshing sort of cold! The bigger thing he should have propably been looking at before checking it, was the giant boat itself on fire of all things... there was something creepily ominous about a thing surrounded by water being so strongly aflame! "Ain`t getting much more heroic than this, right?" Kirk said, pointing his thumb out towards the boat. "Exactly!"
At this point Alex dove in with him with a splash, and shivers of a man filled regret. Kirk couldn`t help but laugh a bit. However, started explaining the plan, about how to go forward with it... although the boy was shivering enough that it made him a little bit hard to understand. "Keep on paddling dude! That should get your blood moving through your body!" It wouldn`t really help any of them, if he froze immediately! With that, kirk proceeded to almost provide an example, as he started swimming about the place with wide breast strokes, the water pressing against his body as gently as ever. Despite not wearing anything on the shirt side of things, he was surprisingly alright with this turn of events!
Kirk nodded at alex`s plan. He could most likely create something out of those shadows of his to get rid of the shadows... Although he had no idea what would be big enough to also be useful. Guess he could smother them if they were solid enough. Although, Kirk couldn`t help but look at Alex confused, when he said how this amount of cold would be lethal. If he couldn`t warm himself up by moving well, how could he be kept warm... Well there was one obvious answer actually! "Tell you what! If you are too cold, I`ll just carry you in my pouch! Share the body warmth sort of deal!" Although... "I should propably save bagspace for the civilians... that or water itself." He really didn`t like the idea of being a "water canister" for the rest of the team, but if he had to do it...
He started to open his pouch slowly as he remembered, that Risaka propably would like to say something too... although she looked weirdly stunned at this whole thing. "Hey Risaka, everything alright with the plan for ya?! I`ll carry Alex here to the boat, and help getting out the civilians!" They should propably start getting moving at this point. "The waters actually quite alright you know!" As soon as she would hop into the water, Kirks bag was already open ready to take alex in. "That`s the plan right?" Of course, he could swim there by himself, but he had said he wasn`t exactly a good swimmer... although he was staying up just fine in his opinion.
