The back of his right hand ran across the American’s mouth, and a quick look saw blood. Fuck. The knuckles on the back of his hand were bleeding, too, and were screaming in pain. This was not ideal. In fact, this was not even close to ideal. His legs ached from sprinting for so long, and his jeans weren’t exactly in the best of shape either with noticeable dirt stains and cuts from jumping that fence and landing badly a bit ago. The sound of a figure landing behind him brought him back to the present and the need to make a quick escape. He could use his quirk, obviously, but that would only call attention to this and probably fuck him over even if he did make it out. No, he had to get out of this without using his quirk. This was just an unfortunate incident that would just be swept under the rug if he could just make it back to campus in one piece. All he needed to do was outrun this monster of a dude that was exceptionally pissed off due to a series of ill advised actions that would never be repeated again in this lifetime.
He rounded a corner to get out of the alley and slammed his hand down on a stack of boxes to create an obstacle between him and his pursuer. That should buy him a few seconds, at least. There was a series of poor decisions that led him to this point, but the current situation was simple. He was being chased by this lunatic with a transformation quirk that apparently let him turn limbs into stone. All that he knew was the dude got way stronger after the American sucker punched him in the chin. The second and swing hurt his own hand more than the other guy’s, and the return punch and the resulting fall was why the palms of his hands and his mouth were bleeding at this moment. He did get an elbow in as he fell that cut the bastard above his left eye, though. So that was something. Since it was a head wound, it bled a lot over the guy’s face over the course of the chase and had saved Alex’s ass once already by fucking up a tackle attempt by the guy. Thankfully, the guy was just big and not super athletic. It made sure the American’s own lack of speed wasn’t the handicap it would have otherwise been.
His phone was dead, so he had no real way of knowing where he was or calling for help – even if he did know anyone that was in Tokyo at the present. Truth be told, he was running in random directions and down random streets that seemed mostly dead at this hour to try and finally lose this lunatic. Whatever the dude’s quirk was, it was bound to run out sooner than later and at least Alex was quite a bit faster. The dude was able to break his way through the full chain fence that the American had jumped over earlier, and he did not want that kind of force connecting to his face again.
There was a crashing noise behind him as rock man bulldozed through the wooden box obstruction and continued chasing him. He had lost the other two seemingly quirkless guys, at least. The only bad part at the moment was the street that he had turned to actually had people in it. He quickly ducked into a nearby alley, but there was a crowd in that direction too and they were coming out into the street like they were drunk or something. There was smoke coming out of the door, holy fuck. What the hell was this, a rave or something? Goddamn freaks, but at least maybe they could serve as a distraction for him to get the hell out of dodge.
Fuck. He couldn’t turn around again or he’d be hit by the angry dude behind him, and he couldn’t exactly run through these partygoers or he’d put them in danger. Fucking hell. He ducked behind a trash can and finally used his quirk to create two instances of shadow. The first was a concealment one, simple enough that would cover his body in shadow and would leave a small slit for him to observe if it worked or not. The second one was the creation of small hammers that impacted the nearest wall like someone was climbing up onto the roof. He forced himself to calm down his breathing just as big and angry turned the corner.
Hopefully he took the bait and fucked off. The dude was much more imposing when viewed up close. He was almost two meters tall and pretty jacked, with a body shaped like a brick house. The cut over his eye had bled down his face and looked absolutely disgusting because it got on his white shirt as well, and there was some blood coming out of his mouth too. The punch must have been hella solid, at least. His clothes were fucked up from running through all the obstacles that Alex had darted through or thrown in his way, covered in dirt and dust and wooden splinters and shit. The fucker’s arms were still metal, and if he found out where Alex was he was fucked. Luckily, his beef was just with the American and not with this bunch of random innocent people…right?

Wow... That party sucked. Kanna had been promised good music, and she'd have settled for half decent. But she didn't even get that much. Music was complete garbage, nobody around looked particularly good looking, let alone interesting. The fact that more people seemed to be getting out of the party than those coming in should have said something, but the blonde surrendred to her curiosity and walked inside. "Boy, that's a good fucking waste of half an hour...", grumbled the blonde the moment that warm yet fresh night air replaced the thick, smoke laden envoiroment inside the nightclub. Not particularly fond of being elbowed left and right, Kanna quickly manouvered away from the crowd and leaned against the wall. She wore her favorite outfit tonight - the all but trademark denim shorts and skimpy white top combo - with her favorite red jacket under her arm. She slipped her arms through the sleeves the moment she could actually move them, for even on a night far too warm for a more complete outfit, she still found it far more comfortable to actually wear the jacket than merely carrying it around. Made it far easier to simply reach her hand into the pockets and pull out an ounce of tobacco. On the upper rim of the white plastic bag laid a conspicuous pack of rolling papers, from which Kanna peeled off one, held it open between two fingers, then proceeded to pick off small bits of tobacco and gradually laying them out over the sheet. Clearly, this blonde could easily roll her smokables with one eye closed, or in this case, with half of her focus diverted to her surroundings. In litte over a minute she'd rolled her cancer stick into a neat, tight cylinder than might as well have come from your average pack of smokes, but before she actually finished her task, something else ground her to a pause. Rushing his way into came a messy looking man, looking like he'd been running from the devil himself. Not the first time she'd ever seen such a sight, but something made Kanna's eyes widen for a split second. She knew his face. With his fists and face painted red, with his outfit ragged, the guy looked like the proverbial bloody mess... Kanna should probably intervene in this whole situation now that she thought about it. While really was none of her business, she'd been at school long enough to have memorized names and faces of just about every student, and this guy happened to be one. A blabbermouth and wannabe troll named Alex spearheading much of the other classes' crusade against 1-A. Mind you, some of his arguments were actually reasonable enough for Kanna to agree - she wasn't exactly fond of her own class either - but having all the classes with their panties in a bunch trying to screw each other over made for a shitty educational envoiroment... Almost as bad as the effect the death of a student would have. So even though the callous Kanna really couldn't care less about the guy, she was still in Yuuei to study and recieve the only possible form of education on quirk usage. She wasn't about to let it fall down the drain over some chump trying to turn a student into mincemeat. That thought crossed her mind the instant her jade green eyes fell upon the student's pursuer, a bulky, beefy and rugged looking guy in ever sense of the word. With the trapped Alex having hurriedly hidden himself, he at least did so well enough to baffle his moronic puruser:
"Where the fuck did he go?!?", grumbled the big man, looking left and right like a raging bull, all but ready to charge through the crowd if he so much as sniffed his target having gone through it. Now Kanna was no hero, even if she attented a school for one. But on the other hand she really didn't like the idea of some prick with a brain the size of a walnut to start pummeling through hundreds of clubbers who had nothing to do with this. With Kanna's position further away from the crowd and closest to the pursuer, he immediately shot her an angry look, "Hey, you, girlie!! Did you see a foreigner run through here? Black haired guy, bloody as hell, couldn't have missed him." Kanna took her sweet fucking time answering the question... The gorilla described him as Kanna ran her tongue along the rolling paper and closed her cigarette; then finished talking just as she brought the butt of her cig to her waiting lips and the tiny ember of her clipper to the tip. She took a good, long drag as her modest chest heaved under the confines of her flimsy tank top, and then leaned her head backwards, exhaling a thick cloud of smoke towards the night skies above. With the smoke trailing hand lowered loosely beside her body, she answered:
"He went that way.", she said, nodding towards the alley behind her, away from the crowd. "Nah, I saw him turn to this alley, dont get snarky with me, bitch.", retorned the man, for once a measure of his angry frown turning towards the blonde herself, "If he'd gone back, I'd have seen in." Wow... A somewhat intelligent reply. More than she'd expect a 'roided out bull to posess, enough for Kanna to finally turn those deadpan, unperturbed Jade eyes to him as she pointed to a pipe running along the building, only a few feet away from her. The brick wall looked pretty chipped away along the whole height, hinting at how people could and indeed used that place to climb onto the rooftop with relative ease. Alex's clever hammering added to the deception, making this pretty easy - with a cool judgement under pressure, she took a healthy risk in trying to trick the pursuer away from the crowd, but it appeared she successfully convinced him: "Ah, shit!", he replied, grumbling as he immediately surrendered to her argument and ran off around the building instead, "Where's the fire escape when you need one?!" He'd be back when he found out Kanna lied. But that wouldn't happen nearly fast enough, at least, not in the time it took for her to finish her smoke and think about where to go next. At the same time, her eyes were now peeled on the hiding place where she'd seen Alex slip behind, wondering when he'd grow a pair and peek his head out of hiding.

Well, this was undignified.
Empty and broken beer bottles, ripped up candy bar wrappers, and general filth were all across the area around the American’s feet. Up close, the boy was pleased to see that the bastard had a thin layer of blood all over his face due to the elbow that he had gotten in earlier. Alex sure as hell didn’t win the fight, but at least it was arguable who looked worse off from the conflict itself at this point, and that was enough for him. This would make one hell of a story once he got the hell out of dodge and back to the school, it was the type of roughshod shit that you saw in movies or something. God, he was cool sometimes.
This entire thing was pretty avoidable, really. He should have just turned back around the damned corner when he was a scruffy looking little shit looking to start something with a foreigner. He should have just avoided and ignored the abuse, but for better or worse Alex wasn’t one to back down from most challenges. He was already lost and frustrated, so he just snapped with the provocation and started hitting the dude after the first shove. How was he supposed to know that the scrawny fuck had friends right nearby – especially a giant dude who could absorb materials or someshit?
Perhaps a pre-emptive strike was not the wisest course of action when faced with two backup buddies, but what the hell else was he supposed to do? They were very clearly going to attack, so he just threw the first one. It was all justifiable, and when big dude started using his quirk and the first guy picked up a bat Alex ran the hell away. He wasn’t looking to be involved in a goddamn murder scene, especially not as the victim. Throwing obstacles in the way made the other two fuck off, but the big guy was still very angry about the gash on his forehead and the blood in his mouth.
Back to the present, though, the big dude singled out a cute blonde girl that in any other situation Alex would no doubt be ogling. Dude looked like a wreck with the blood all over his face, but the girl was ice cold in a way that honestly even creeped the American out. The blonde girl covered for him not once, but twice and soon the goon was off to the races and running out of the alley and back into the street to try and catch his nonexistent prey that he believed was only a few feet above him. Tough luck for the big bruiser.
The American counted in his head to five before dropping the cloak and snaking over towards the corner between the alley and the street to take a peek over to make sure the big fucker wasn’t coming back anytime soon. He didn’t bother to even try to hide his presence from the girl or any of the partygoers, because that was wasted effort at this point and his legs ached like nobody’s business. He had power, sure, but he didn’t have the stamina of a goddamned marathon runner or anything. He wiped the bloodstained drool off his mouth and jaw with the back of his good left hand as he visually confirmed the big guy sprinting down the street as fast as his tree trunks for legs would take him.
Good. That meant he was safe, for the moment. That eliminated his first problem of being pursued by an extremely large and angry man. With any luck, the police would pick up such an obviously bloody and violent man before he rounded back – or at the very least, he would be long gone. The second problem, though, was still an issue. The problem, of course, being the fact that he was hopelessly lost and had no idea where he was. It was odd, really, because his phone never used to die that quickly before. It used to be able to last the entire day no sweat, but today he barely even used the damn thing and it seemed to eat through its power at a rate that he only used to get when he watched a bunch of videos on the damn thing. It was infuriating, and something he couldn’t really plan in advance against.
Well, the blonde helped him once, so why not twice? He turned back and revealed his front more fully, and quite frankly despite how bad the other guy looked it wasn’t like the American was much better. His jeans were tattered and dirtied past the point of being considered disgusting, and the blood oozing from his mouth and having to be wiped away every so often was still very much present. The back of his right hand was covered in now dried blood as well, with the back of his left covered in a partially dried mixture of saliva and blood from his mouth.
His walk towards the girl, however, was one of complete and utter confidence. The incident had done absolutely nothing to shatter the American’s extremely high opinion of himself, it seemed. In his mind, he had won that encounter on three to one odds like a goddamned champion and had absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. There was absolutely no flicker of recognition in the boy’s red gaze as it locked with the blonde’s green eyes and he started to talk in a tone more suited for discussing last week’s football game than one suited for thanking your savior from being pummeled to death.
”Thanks for the save there, darlin’. Any way you could point me in the way of the nearest train station? My phone died and I’m dead lost, I’m afraid. Kinda embarrassing, really.” he said, and as he talked his eyes noticeably shifted to surveying the crowd behind the girl and the doorway that she had come from. His adrenalin rush might be dying down, but he wasn’t treating this like a picnic and was still scanning for threats and even toned down his usual flirting on account of the fact he looked like he had just arisen as a zombie from a gutter or something and probably smelled like it too on account of all the sweat that almost went through his clothes at this point. Nothing a shower and a change of clothes couldn’t fix, obviously, but he didn’t exactly have those tools on hand at the moment and wasn’t going to sprint back to Tokyo to talk to some random girl again afterwards no matter how cute she was. That was too much effort, even for him.

Kanna watched the big buff dude run off out the corner of her eye, and once he vanished entirely she immediately hoped her moronic classmate would take the cue to make his quick getaway. She for once would likely disappear herself once she finished with her smoke, the cigarette getting smaller and smaller with every good hit. She took a short moment to take in the stars dotting the night sky, charmed by the mood's radiant gleam until her own exhaled smoke completely enshrouded it... Yeah, she still hadn't decided what the hell was she going to do after this... Perhaps find herself a new party? She had that option, yeah, but did she really want to? Her experience at this particular club somewhat soured her against random parties, at least for tonight... Odds were, she'd at least try to find a place she might enjoy, or otherwise just head home, blaze a few joints, then hit the hay. Yeah, the longer she thought on it, the more enticing that idea seemed, but first she had to try and keep an idiot from getting himself killed. How fun, what a lovely way to spend the night. Thus, she mostly kept her eyes on that trash can while her cigarette shortened, and eventually the guy came right out of hiding. Understandably, he had bigger concerns than immedialy walking over to the girl casually leaning against the wall: Making sure his pursuer wouldn't come back after him sooner than expected. It gave the blonde a chance to look over his condition with those aloof, piercing eyes of jade, the gaze of a scouting raptor missing not a single heartbeat. His clothes ragged and torn, fist bloodied, face all messed up, Alexander hardly looked like the annoying, shitposting student from Yuuei... On the other hand, his figure was the very picture of where that annoying streak may easily lead him once he pissed off the wrong person. Yes, Kanna needn't have talked to him to understand the situatuon, what she'd yet to learn was exactly how he had aggravated his attacker. But then he walked up to her. Kanna met his gaze the moment he turned to her, listening to what he had to say while she finished her cig. And what she heard almost baffled her... Almost. Seriously... Did the guy not even recognize her...? And was he actually hitting on her? Perhaps not - hopefully not - but he still talked like he was coming on to her. Yet what really made the blonde roll her eyes was his complete lack of recognition. Sure, nobody would put her among the school's most sociable... But you should at least try to remember the faces of the other students no? What Kanna failed to realize was how much her stalking searching skills and eiditic memory made it a walk in the park for her: "Wow Deraine, what a fucking mess you dug yourself into...", greeted Kanna, scratching her eyed as she casually eyed the rugged, beat up classmate standing before her; saying his name for no reason than to see if he remembered he should recognize her, "What did you say to that gorilla?" She wouldn't expect him to remember her name, he didn't look the type to even remember that of his own classmates, let alone other students. But she also somewhat expected him to not even recall her face, for which she'd chide him and cross her arms, flicking the stub of her cigarette somewhere:
"...You dont even know who I am do you...?", Kanna shook her head, shifting her gaze below, letting out an exhasperated sigh, "...Yare yare daze...", after establishing what he knew and didn't know, the blonde would finally turn her gaze back up, looking into his eyes as she pointed her thumb to her right side, through the crowd of clubbers struggling to get in, "Well, station is that way. If you need a phone, you can just use mine..." The guy still visibly on edge... Good, that meant he at least wasn't a complete idiot, even if he came closest to that label out of everyone in school. He understood he was in danger, or at least, his body understood it for him. With a lacking of reason, instinct would suffice if nothing else. She'd look him over, somewhat wondering whether he'd bother answering her question, or explain what he planned on doing... At the very least she expected him to try to learn who exactly was helping him... Sure, she didn't hold his intelligence in very high regard, but she antecipated the barest minimum if nothing else: "In any case, we should get the hell outta here. If that guy comes back, he ain't gonna be happy.", stated the blonde, uncrossing her arms and lifting her back off the wall. This guy was so going to pay for all her help...

The American’s face froze for just a second when he was called by his name. He wouldn’t have walked up if he knew the girl actually knew him, fuck. This was weird, because if she knew him then he should know her… right? Alex didn’t exactly have the best memory in the world, but he considered himself somewhat of an encyclopedia for certain things that he cared to remember. One of the things that he cared quite a bit to remember was a mental catalogue of every attractive woman at U.A., so it was really weird that he didn’t remember this girl. He knew he probably had never talked to her before, but that didn’t stop him from remembering people like Akane that he had also never had a conversation with. It wasn't like he didn't want to, it was just that he never had the opportunity what with her sitting across the room basically from him and being so damn aloof and cold all the time. It wasn't his fault, really, and he would totally get the courage to talk to her at the next full class event!
He was thinking to hard to register the words that were coming out of the girl’s mouth until she called him out for not knowing who she was. ”Of course I know who you are,” he retorted, but without the bite of someone who was actually insulted or telling the truth. Blonde girl, green eyes, slender… Come on, Alex! If cute girls were a subject in school, that was the one area he would get an A in! Where was she from? Looking like she did, there was no way he didn’t gawk at her before. But when? That was an important distinction, and one that he needed to find out. He had a thing for blondes, so it was impossible that he shouldn't know at least what class she was in. Like 1-A had that Jasmine girl who was basically a marble statue and the other blondes in that class were...
”You’re 1-A.” he said suddenly with complete certainty. ”I don’t think we’ve ever talked before, so I don’t know your name, but you’re 1-A.” he continued, notably without the feeling of accomplishment or smugness that would have normally accompanied such a statement. He was too tired and too embarrassed that a fellow classmate was able to see and thus probably tattle on his unique little adventure tonight. It wasn’t a sure thing, but Class 1-A at U.A. definitely had a certain complexion and reputation, and that reputation wasn’t exactly always sterling. Especially not after the shit storm that occurred over that music night that Rin planned to get more attention from the rest of class. Disgusting, really, inviting the public for an event only made to showcase that the girl had no idea how to let people down except extremely meanly and in public. It was almost psychotic, really, that anyone would do anything like that on purpose. For better or for worse, that extreme propensity for sadism was really the general view of the class due to the actions of a few. Sad.
When the girl offered to let him use her phone, Alex dipped his head slightly in thanks. Such gestures were out of character for the boy, but then again he didn’t often find himself in situations where he was forced so far out of his element and essentially helpless. Left to his own devices, he would wander around Tokyo for at least the rest of the night if not for more than that – relegated to trying to find a public restroom every so often and trying to convince store owners to let him use the damn thing even when covered in absolute filth. Being spared from that fate was enough to let him give at least a small concession in body language to communicate thanks.
”I would appreciate that very much, thank you.” he said, in a tone of genuine thanks that was also very much unlike him. ”Who do I have to thank for such boundless generosity?” he continued, his flippant tone from earlier replaced with one of careful neutrality. He had every motivation in the world to seem as thankful and noncontroversial as he possibly could be at the moment – and he certainly was thankful! But it also served his best interest to be as… well, not himself as possible for the moment until he was the hell out of Tokyo and back to the safe haven of campus. Where he could get a nice shower and change of clothes and where he could try and pretend this night just didn't happen and get away from these filthy side alleys once and for all. He was a city boy, sure, but not this part of the city.
When the girl mentioned the possibility of the thug coming back all pissed, the mask of civility slipped off for just a second out of pure force of habit. ”Of course he’s not gonna be happy,” the delinquent all but scoffed, posturing. ”You see the blood running down his face? I’d be mad too.” It was almost instinctive, the need to preen and make himself look better despite the fact that he had been the one running away. A way to save face, a way to avoid embarrassment. It was a reaction like clockwork, and immensely predictable to anyone who had been around teenage boys with the almost all-encompassing need to puff out their chests to look better in every way than they actually were. It wasn’t running away, it was a tactical retreat that showed his smarts and thinking under pressure. He may be filthy and bleeding from his mouth in a disgusting saliva foam almost, but the other guy was hurt more visibly because of all the blood so obviously Alex had won the fight! For every perceived failure, there was a real or imagined counterbalance that somehow negated it entirely. Primitive, sure, but oh so very real to protect the most fragile construct in all of the world – male ego.

Of course, she spotted that reaction at the sound of his own name, but even then she tilted her head, wondering if he simply was embarassed that somebody had seen him in that state, or shocked that someone he obviously didn't know would so casually recognize him. She actually found it pretty amusing trying to figure out which of these two unpleasant prospects bounced around inside his head, and judging from his words, it just couldn't be the second one. Did he actually remember her or was he just playing tough...? Kanna rose an eyebrow, even without a single word, that crossed arm, quizzical pose said it all... Oh really now...? By all means, elaborate. She'd eyed him intently, without losing any of that doubtful, disapproving look like she was pretty damn sure he didn't actually know who she was. He was just that kind of guy, judging from what she'd seen thus far. And so she merely watched as the gears turned inside her head, all but imagining smoke flowing out with the sheer effort to remember "That's... More than I expected, I guess...", she couldn't help but smirk jeeringly, but eventually shrugged and shook her head, "No matter." Clearly she thought very little for this accomplishment, and understandably so considering she actually knew names and faces of people she'd never even spoken to, courtesy of skills the guy didn't even knew existed. On the other hand, Kanna knew him all too well, having made it her point to know everything she could about the dude who made it his life's mission to incite angry mobs against her class. 1-A was already troublesome enough without people adding fuel onto the fire... What she didn't know was exactly what brought on his beef with her class. Even though some of those compaints made sense, his crusade felt not like simple shitposting, but rather some personal grudge with one or multiple members. Perhaps she'd learn the answer one day, for tonight she merely concerned herself with getting them both out: "Kanna.", she'd answer with that aloof bluntness she'd come to be known for, not really expecting him to recall one of the specific people he regularly ripped on, not when he did the same to everybody else in school. Never mind the rest of her class, but this blonde obviously didn't take it personally - at least not so much that she'd let him get trampled by a raging bull - but even then she still saw it as almost ironic. Her generosity, however, had been grossly exaggerated; Kanna gave nothing away for free, just like she'd never expect anybody doing the same for her, "I'd hold off on calling it generous, I expect you to pay me back soon enough." She pulled out her phone and offered it in case he wanted to make a call, but before they could get to that, Deraine did yet more things she found utterly idiotic. Despite his words, the guy seemed happy with himself. All too happy, enough to make Kanna's eyes roll once more. Men... Even Kanna with her fiery nature and unrelenting fighting spirit knew better than to act like she'd won the fight against an enemy she'd been running away from for god knows how long. "You really ain't got much to boast about y'know? Not after running away with that look on your face...", she'd point out, sinking on one hip as she looked doubtfully into his eyes... Wondering if he really understood her point. On the other hand, she couldn't and wouldn't really ask for humility here; even should she have the right to, she knew better than to antecipate it and that was enough for her. More importantly, they both had to make their escape. For now, they could get away with simply being anywhere but here, "And that means unless we get outta dodge, we gonna get a very angry gorilla to deal with real soon. Come on, let's bolt." And with this, she'd turn away waving her hand to urge him along and forcing her way through the crowd - doing so deftly enough to attest to her experience - occasionally looking back to see if Alexander was following her. If he lagged behind, she'd eventually hold on to his sleeve and pull him along, fully understanding the precariousness of their current position. If the gorilla saw them in the middle of the crowd from atop the roof, he could fall down and kill them plus however many other people. "How the hell did you even get into that mess...?", she'd ask, yielding to her curiosity for once the moment they stepped away from the crowd. As Alex expressed a desire to find the train station, Kanna would guide him not because she thought he'd get lost on the way there (though the possibility did cross her mind), but instead she had no trust in his ability to stay out of trouble, keep out of that big man's sight. Even with Kanna's help, they couldn't still very easily get caught, for she didn't know if the man had allies. She'd never seen them, and thus had no information to recognize them with. For this reason, she kept her eyes sharp, slipping her hands into the pockets of her tight denim shorts, neck turning left, then right as she took in her surroundings, readily spotting anyone looking too intently at the pair. Which soon proved a fruitless effort, for Deraine's rugged look made just about everyone curious. So much for laying low...

Well, the girl certainly wasn’t winning any awards for her winning personality or any popularity contests by treating people like that. In this situation and in this time, though, the delinquent saw her bluntness and lack of time wasting to be very valuable and very appreciated. He briefly wondered what the hell the girl’s upbringing was to be so blasé about the entire situation, but quickly decided that it wasn’t relevant at this time and he would ask after he was back on campus and not before. Whatever the case may be, whether she was a delinquent or she just had something mentally wrong with her didn’t matter at this point. She was helping him, and going out of her way to help him and he was not going to piss her off or make her regret doing that by asking stupid questions. If she wanted to move things along briskly, that was fine with him and probably the smartest course of action anyway given that there was a roaming brute who wanted to maim or kill the American somewhere very close by.
The posturing stopped when Kanna brought up, correctly, that if they stood around waiting there bad things were going to happen. It would be stupid of them sit there and assuage the delinquent’s ego at the risk of the safety of both themselves and the others in the area, and for all of his bluster Alex was willing to follow directions when he perceived those directions to be correct. He didn’t say anything, but he followed the directions that were given to him to the best of his ability. This entire night was still like a blur to him, honestly, and almost seemed like a dream more than anything else. The exertion of the running was finally starting to get to him, and a wave of exhaustion soon settled over the delinquent as the rush of adrenalin wore off completely. He had been running far beyond his limits for a very long time running purely on that adrenalin, and while he could still force himself to walk it was definitely less than his normal speed of doing so due to the strain and exhaustion wave.
Getting through a crowd was not one of the skills that the American had acquired over the years, mostly because he could count the number of times on his hand he was ever in the middle of a crowd like this. He struggled to make it through the crowd, because every movement seemed to be countered by the mass of people that seemed to just overpower his attempt to push back unless he literally tried to knock people over, which he simply wasn’t willing to do. The girl, Kanna, ended up grabbing him by the wrist and basically forcing her way through somehow through the crowd without being knocked over. It didn’t make sense, really, because she didn’t seem to be stronger than him and he definitely weighed more than her. Was there some sort of trick to being able to magically walk through crowds like this or something? They sure as hell didn’t move over for him, but it seemed like they did for Kanna. Was this just one of those things that just happened if you were a pretty girl or something? How could they even tell in a crowd this big, like really?
She asked him how he got into this fuckery, and since she had just likely saved his ass he felt the need to respond at least with a little bit of information. ”Foreign delinquent gets lost and wanders into wrong neighborhood. Group of local delinquents come out to harass the foreigner. Foreigner takes fight, but one of the local delinquents is a physically enhanced quirker. Foreigner runs across half of the damn city. That about sums it up.” he explained bluntly and plainly, not wanting to waste time on it any more than he absolutely needed to. It certainly wasn’t a point of pride for him, that was for sure. In his mind, the sooner he got out of this city and back onto the campus of U.A. High the better it would be for him. He decided to be adventurous today and forgot he didn’t have the greatest sense of direction. That combined with his innate stubbornness led to some poor decisions, and a series of those poor decisions led him here. Walking through the streets of Tokyo absolutely covered in filth. With everyone staring at him like he was an alien or something. Look at that, a white man covered in filth like a homeless person. He could imagine the insults that they were thinking but wouldn’t say because it would draw the attention of the hobo on the street, but for once he didn’t care.
Any other time, that would have bothered the delinquent quite a bit. Any other time, he might have felt embarrassed about something like this… but now he was still on the lookout for big and angry. If that dude came here and busted through, people could actually die and Alex would be forced to actually use his quirk for the first time of the night. That wasn’t a great thing, especially because quirk use was illegal and would probably get him expelled if he used it to combat a small time criminal that he himself provoked and admitted to provoking to another U.A. student… just now, actually, like a total dumbass.
Fuck.
Red eyes were peeled for any sudden movements or large and violent individuals, and his gaze in contrast to the blonde was focused on street level. He didn’t believe the man had enough agility to get to the rooftop, so he scanned the alleyways instead for any threat. Luckily for them, the big brute had a complete lack of stealth capability, so they would almost certainly hear him thundering down the road before they saw him. It was unimaginable to Alex that a guy like that would suddenly learn how to be crafty and silent, so he took that as a given. It looked like something was finally going to go right tonight and they would get to the train station without being fucked with anymore. Good news, for once.
